[copy paste intro. don't count for the wordcount but feel free to read for context] Was Mia disappointed when she was told she couldn’t run combat classes at UA? Sure. Was she absolutely devastated? Fuck nah. There was more she could do to entertain herself outside this place’s lesson plan than just getting the kids to give her an excuse to punch them back. She wasn’t a teacher, she wasn’t designed to be in her head, and she kinda felt sorry for everyone in 3A, apart from Jaz of course, who was stuck with her for the coming year…
Still. She had to make an effort somewhere right?
Wanting to see if she could take a stab at things Mia had posted up on the UA notice boards some sign up sheets for lessons hosted by here. She’d gotten 3 different ideas and wanted to see how they might work as official lessons going forward by trying them out with smaller, taster samples first. Classes of about 3, maybe 4 students in size and she hoped each of them would seem appealing enough to take up in the kids free periods rather than just slacking off in their homerooms…
Now either her ideas had been really good or Mia kinda under-estimated how popular she was gonna be as a teacher here. With the impression kids like Jaz and Reddarc gave her she figured the population of fans to ‘im just gonna be my own hero’ was probably like, 20-80 or something, but she’d still managed to get what felt like damn near half the school population signing up for one idea or another…. And she had to be the one to sort it all out…
Fuuuuun…?
Okay, so she could do this. Just… figure out who wants what, make a quick spreadsheet, try and divide it evenly… a lot of kids liked idea 1 so that was getting the most by far anyway… then try and level out the class sizes and… Okay. She felt like she had some sets here.
The next day the students each received emails on the free periods they’d been booked for and where to be, as well as a sense of what they were in for. Mia had to make sure she just didn’t end up boring the pants off of them when they were there.
========================================================
Okay, one down one to go. Mia still wasn’t sure if she was gonna be good at this type of lesson but… hey it was the most popular, and she was sure some smart ass or another could help out the other kids if she ended up pulling a brainfart out at best. With another training hall booked up so the kids could display their quirks as needed, Mia rested in the bleachers, rubbing her hands together in a massaging fashion, a bit of nervous fidgeting if you will. She wasn’t really the teacher these kids needed. She was hardly an exemplary hero despite being the publics number 1.. which was always a weirdly depressing thought. ‘yeah I’m number 1. Not cause of my crime stats im just the most popular’. She let out a heavy sigh… if she was honest all this sitting around on probation was just getting to her. She couldn’t wait to get back out in the field so she didn’t have to just think about how crappy a job she was probably doing as a teacher. Rising to her feet as she heard the doors slide open, she’d give the first kid in a wave and a bright grin, tossing aside her earlier worries. “Ayyyy! Glad you could make it! Just take a seat while we wait for everyone to get here yeah?~” Mia had asked everyone who’d signed up for the class to come with a UA tracksuit and not their hero kits. She wanted to see what their quirks were like naturally and without any gadgets propping them up. Though… she did allow some exceptions if someone REALLY needed a piece of kit to actually use their quirk effectively. She wasn’t about to make any student come in acting like some useless limp noodle.

'Quirk Positivity'; whoever signed her up for this stupid lesson... she didn't know. The thought of punching them crossed her mind, but that ridiculous idea was quickly pushed down. She didn't need to get in trouble just because someone thought to prank her. The thought of ditching class also crossed her mind, and that one was a far more reasonable idea, but with it late in the day, it wasn't like she could lie and say that her alarm didn't go off, and it wasn't like she could say she got lost on the way there, either.
It wasn't like she could afford another failing grade, though....
Michi sighed deeply, still glaring into space. 'Quirk Positivity'... ha... what the hell was that, anyway? What kind of idiot would think that there was anything positive about her quirk? She had strength? Yeah, well, if she wasn't careful every single moment she could break anything from her phone to her desk. She could heal? It wasn't like she did a lot of fighting, unlike all of these super-violent weirdos. She was tough? So she couldn't get papercuts, big deal.
Whoever signed her up for this... they'd get something. She wasn't sure what, but they'd get something.
She was dressed in her tracksuit, and, reaching the room that the teacher - a 'Red Horn', probably the only hero name she could recognize - was holding it all, she signed again. Stop, wait, calm down; emotions were bad, but anger was the worst of them. She took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. '"Never be angry; that is when you lose control.' She took another breath, breathing out her anger, her frustration. 'Never be sad; that is when people ask what is wrong.' Repeating her mantra to herself in her head, she took one more breath, deeper so she could let it out even slower and longer than before. 'Never be happy; that is when things break.' Don't be angry. Don't be frustrated. Don't be anything. Emotions did nothing but hurt or break; it didn't matter now who signed her up or why, it didn't matter. She was here, she had to be here and she was, and no amount of punching - ha - or flailing or complaining would change that.
'Never be a burden.'
Calmer, cooler, and repressing her emotions again, the silver-haired, gray-tinged-skinned girl pushed open the door, and was greeted with... well, the first thing she noticed was hair as gold as the sun, probably the exact opposite color of her own. The way it caught the light made it almost glow, despite being as wild as a thornbush. Red Horn was massive, too, not just in height but in muscle, too. What an... 'interesting' person... Michi didn't know her like most of the class; as far as she knew, she was some pro that was getting punished by being a teacher... she didn't even bother to find out why she was being punished; all of this hero business didn't interest Michi at all.
“Ayyyy! Glad you could make it! Just take a seat while we wait for everyone to get here yeah?~”
Michi approached her, even as she spoke, then bowed deeply to her, showing respect that only went so far as her authority, not her rank or even her supposedly high power. "Thank you, Red Horn-sensei." She lifted herself up, and she couldn't help but notice just how big her muscles were; Michi's own were strong, her body looking like she lifted regularly, her muscles taut and firm, though their size made sense for her age, as well. It felt strange to see another girl with a muscular figure, or rather, it would have if she wasn't pushing down all of her feelings entirely.
She sized Red Horn up a little more, unable to help it when she was so easily noticeable, then moved aside, moving to the bleachers and sitting down.

A ngel's third year was going absolutely awesome! Not only was one of her favorite pros her home room teacher, but she had finally found the mental and emotional strength needed to have her collar and broken chain removed which finally set her free from the mental and emotional bondage that her former slave master had instilled in her which caused her confidence soar! The tiny cherry on top was that earlier that week a rather beautiful thief tried to rob her family home, but ended up freely leaving with not only the painting she wanted but some cash and food that she desperately needed. The important part of the encounter being that there seemed to be a spark beginning to light between them. Another thing that happened earlier that week was that Red Horn had put up a couple sign up sheets for some special lessons which included a lesson called quirk ingenuity! That sounded like it was totally up Angel's alley and so she made sure to sign up as soon as she finished reading the form. Once it came time for the actual class Angel made sure to wear her track suit like she was instructed to,but made sure to leave the jacket partially unzipped so the fact that her collar was gone might get noticed by her classmates or even her teacher. She then headed to the specified training area excitedly while having to fight the urge to just fly there. "This is gonna be so rad!"Once Angel arrived she saw a student she didn't recognize checking out and looking over Ms.Red Horn before bowing to her respectfully before going to sit on the bleachers. Angel then walked up to Ms.Red Horn and like she often did used her left wing as if it were a cape in a princely bow of respect before flashing her teacher a big grin. "It's a pleasure as always to see you Sensei! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!"Once Angel was done bowing she spread out both wings and quickly used them to glide over to the bleachers and over them before touching down on the top row where she often sat so she had the best view before resting her wings flat against her back as she sat down. Deciding to try and be friendly she bent down to speak to the first year student. "Hi there! I'm Angel Surami! What's your name? How are you enjoying U.A.?"

Yang sighed. She remembered signing up with some classes and internships but she never really though she would have been picked to actually attend them. Her teacher would be someone named Mia Kearney? She wasn't really familiar with all of the teachers yet and from what she could tell this teacher in particular had a history. Something that Yang wanted to personally question her about. Yang wanted to know how that has affected her and her hero status? Everyone had their own skeletons in the closet and Yang wanted to know what would be the worst case scenario if hers were ever to be exposed to the public? Maybe, Yang will get that opportunity while doing these classes. She was definitely interested in the Quirk classes that Ms. Kearney was offering. Yang had actually signed up for two of the three classes. One was literally a quirk appreciation class and the another like a quirk lympics or what Ms. Kearney called it. Yang was apart of the quirk appreciation class. There were actually very specific instructions to be in the UA tracksuit and not her hero kit. But when Yang thought about it, what was her hero kit? Wasn't sure using her UA tracksuit as apart of her hero kit or suit. Well she definitely couldn't go there naked. She sighed and put what she usually puts on. Her tracksuit pants, her quirk regulators that looked like biker gloves, her weighted black tee shirt, her belt that could holster her swords, and her new sword she picked up when she was out with Mizuki when they were beach. It was called a bokken or a wooden sword that was usually used for training. The durability wouldn't be great but it was better then her training with her sakabato/reversed blade katana or wakizashi/shorter katana. She quickly braided her hair and left her room and headed towards the area that Ms. Kearney told everyone to meet up at. Yang secretly hoped that Mizuki would be there as well. When she got the site, she saw the girl named Yamazaki being greeted by Ms. Kearney warmly. Yang quietly nodded out of respect to Ms. Kearney before heading towards the bleachers. This is where she saw another girl with bright pink hair and watched this brightly bubbly girl introduced herself before sitting on the bleachers next to Yamazaki. Her name was Angel from what Yang could hear. Yang wasn't quite sure what class Angel was in; however, she could tell that part of her quirk involved her wings. Yang looked around with her hazel eyes with gray fleeks. She didn't see Mizuki, maybe she wasn't apart of this class. It was a shame, Yang barely seen Mizuki's quirk. She knew it involved the elements but that was about it. Yang sighed in disappointment. She didn't bring her note pad and pencil which would mean she would have to communicate with sign language. After the interesting tea party it came to Yang's realization if she was going to play the role as a mute, she needed to refresh her skills. Thank goodness there was such a larger library. After several days of refreshing her memory, she realized she wasn't as rusty as she thought she was and felt confidant enough to try it out today while attempting to interact with other people today here at this quirk appreciation class.

One of the major surprises of the new school year was the big shakeup with the school's faculty. One of the things she had come to observe while studying in UA was that balancing being a pro hero and being a teacher meant that stability was one of the last things they could expect. Case in point, over the last year her class in particular saw no less than two homeroom changes. In fact the shakeup included her own class. They were getting yet another new homeroom teacher and part of her hoped that they would stick around longer. On the positive side, new faces were always nice. In a way it help get the feeling across that it was the start of a new school year. Although maybe new wasn't exactly the most accurate term. With Japan having a limited roster of pro heroes at the moment, there was bound to come a time when they might recruit someone that Karen was more familiar with in person. That time was now. Imagine her surprise when Red Horn of all people would come to UA to be an educator. The last time they met was way back before she even started attending hero school. From their conversations back then, she didn't get the impression that the top hero was particularly interested in teaching. Well Mia did a have a few nice things to say about some of her upperclassmen. Perhaps the hero grew fond enough of them to want to be there personally. She chuckled to herself. That probably wasn't right. She had heard about a certain incident happening to the number one hero not too long ago. She wouldn't be surprised if this teaching assignment had something to do with it. In any case, despite being assigned to a third year class Red Horn had opened up a few classes for other students who might be interested and Karen was of course on board to participate. Although due to some unfortunate circumstances she had been a little late to signing up. But the important thing was that she was here now. The topic today had to do with quirk ingenuity. As someone with a fairly simple and straightforward quirk, this was definitely up her alley even if it wasn't Red Horn who was holding the class. Mia giving them the lecture was just the bonus. "Good morning Kearney-sensei! It's good to see you again."She would say as she entered the room before going to find a seat. Looking quickly, she had spotted a couple of familiar faces. It was a motley group of various years. It ought to be interesting what kind of class they could have with all of them present. In the end she decided to sit as close to the front as possible. There weren't too many of them so it didn't make sense to her to sit far away from Mia. Besides, if the hero needed a volunteer for something, she definitely wanted to be right there where she could be easily seen and called on.

As the first kid came in, from the fact Mia didn’t recognize her from either of the televised festivals, a first year, Mia tried to greet them as brightly as possible… only to get a somewhat stone-wally response by comparison, an odd little chuckle leaving their throat as she watched the kid bow down low and refer to her as sensei. Riiiight… and here she was hoping the majority of this place would be like Jaz or Reddarc, but then again… those kids weren’t Japanese. Maybe THIS was actually the norm she should be expecting. “Er… don’t worry about the sensei kid. Just erm… yeah. Take a seat.” She waved her along idly with a somewhat furrowed brow, not really sure how she was gonna handle it if all the kids were so… formal…
Kid looked tough at least… should hopefully be fun teaching her. Even seemed to have been sizing her up, so she returned the gesture almost hoping that might be kinda respectful. Wasn’t the easiest to see through a UA tracksuit but she seemed like a tough little nut at least.
The chipper voice that followed though… she definitely recognized. Slowly turning her head back to the entrance she put on a smile as best she could as Angel rocked up to the party. In truth she liked the girl’s energy but sometimes she could… be a bit much. Good energy for a hero in training to be sure but also one of the reasons Mia wasn’t too sure if she was a good pick to be a teacher. Heck even if she was smart enough. Ah well. She seemed to be in good spirits as ever at the very least, she was just kinda hoping she wouldn’t introduce herself to the new kid the same way Angel had once introduced herself to Red Horn herself.
“Its er… good to see you too kid. You look even more chipper than usual I gotta say.” She offered a brief, cheeky smile before gesturing for Angel to make her way to the side. “Just take a seat wherever ya want on the bleachers we’ll get started in a sec.
Okaaaay who was left… should be expecting two other students at least. Both… huh. She’d accidentally made a girls only group. Not a bad thing by any means but it did bring a brief moment of surprise as she realized. Heck she was pretty sure the other class would have been just boys if Feng didn’t sign up at the last minute. Weird little coincidence she guessed…
Yang was in next from what she could tell though… the girl didn’t introduce herself, just dipping her head and walking past her. Mia wondered if that was just some oddly separate form of ‘japanese formality’ but it was difficult to really tell, just kinda… shrugging it off and letting the kid do their thing, a defeated little sigh the kids in the bleachers wouldn’t be able to hear as she looked back to the entrance. At least this class was filling up faster than the others…
Oh, here was a face that took a moment to click. She recognized Karen certainly but it took a moment to process that the last time they’d met the kid had told her she was gonna be at UA in the coming year. Right! Well it was definitely good to see her again as a second year, a bright grin on Mia’s face as they came in with some high energy. “Karen! Good to see ya kid! Hey those fabrics you guys came up with for me are still holding up, so pass on a thanks for me next time you drop by the factory or something, if it ain’t a hassle I mean.~” A bit of a… weird request perhaps, but even through her ‘red phase’ Karen’s father’s company had made shit that could withstand even that, so she definitely was appreciative of the fact she wasn’t a raging beast that ALSO had her tits out or something. Geeze as if she hadn’t been red enough that day. “Here take a seat you’re the last one in.”
Making sure she was on the same ‘playing field’ as the kids Mia strode around to the front of the bleachers in a UA tracksuit herself. Made for her size of course, some basic tracksuit pants, a jacket she hadn’t zipped up, and a white shirt that was a little tight over her. She took in the kids again… only Yang (a name she only really got from process of elimination) seemed to need gear outside the tracksuit… swords of all things but, hey, she’d figure out what her quirk was soon enough. Clapping her hands together to try and draw some attention, she put up a warm smile.
“Right! Well welcome to this… hastily constructed taster lesson on ‘quirk ingenuity’. Now as might be obvious, as a homeroom teacher, as much as I’d LIKE to be running combat lessons that ain’t exactly my area of expertise… of course if any of you want a sparring session off the books no one can stop ya asking.~” She’d offer with a cheeky wink, half attempting a joke and half a genuine offer for anyone who seemed brave enough, rubbing her hands together. “Well, how about we get off to a strong start. Some of you introduced yourselves, but one since you all know why you’re here let’s not waste any time. One at a time I’d like you each to come down to the front and display your quirk. Or, if you don’t wanna actually display it, just talk about it.”
She bowed her head. “Of course. I’ll go first.”
pulling off her tracksuit jacket, she tied the arms around her waist, rolling up the short sleeves of her shirt so her entire arm was exposed on each side. “I’m Mia Kearney, Aka Red Horn, Aka someone I’m sure none of you actually want as your teacher.” She tried to joke again, mostly for her own sake that time. “My quirk is pretty straight forward.”
She took a deep breath through her nose, and thrust her stance forward, a booming clap of force echoing throughout the hall, and a burst of displaced air powerful enough to blow back the hair of even those at the back of the stands roaring through the space as Mia punched deeply into the opposing palm. “Super strength! Of course I get some more benefits from the package but if you have to boil it down that’s the gist of it.” She paused as she pulled back, something clicking in her brain. “Oh! And if your brave enough, I want each of you to be open about a weakness of your quirk, or something that’s hard to manage. For me-“
She had to really hold for a moment this time, despite the abrupt stop it took her some time to display this weakness. She closed her eye sand took several long, slow breaths, her muscles slowly deflating. She never got shorter but she did get a little less broad, her arms were still toned but… far more within normal proportions, like she was just a tall woman who hit the gym a decent amount. Honestly looking, and sounding as she spoke, a lot more feminine, tightening the belt of her jacket arms to make sure her pants didn’t start to slip as her outfit now clung to her much more slender frame.
“My weakness is my quirk is tied to my emotional state. Its not… an exact science, but forcing myself to be calm, or someone else forcing me to be calm, I don’t run at full performance. I’m still much stronger than the average person but it ain’t like I’m working my A game here.”
She rolled her shoulders back, and very slowly her muscles were retruning to normal, every other breath coming with a small swelling of her muscles, but even by the time the kids were done displaying their own quirks she’d still be below normal muscle levels. “So… how about first in first down? You.” She pointed to the first kid in with a smile. “Down here. Name and quirk, then call down the next kid.~”

Not many of the students that came in were ones that Michi could recognize; the only one that she did was Yang, the mute that she had to have tea with when she moved in. The first one, however, was a winged girl. If Michi could feel anything, it might have been pity. A quirk as obvious as that made life difficult, because at a glance you could be denied a job or get funny looks... her own quirk made life difficult, but if people didn't pay attention, she could lie and say she had artificial teeth or something.
But, she felt nothing, and those thoughts slipped away like water in a current; it wasn't her business to have an opinion of someone else's quirk, obvious or not. When Surami introduced hehrself, all she did was turn her head and bow her head in greeting; she would introduce herself soon enough, she assumed, so she felt no need to do so now.
Despite meeting with one of them, she knew just about as much about them as she did the winged girl; the other two were upperclassmen, but she just didn't talk too much with Yang to really say anything about her. She registered their entrance, and the blue-haired one's previous experience with Red Horn might have been interested at another point, but as it currently stood, it wasn't particularly fascinating; notable, but not fascinating.
Michi sat up a little more, more at attention as their teacher began the - still dumb - lesson. She had absolutely no plans to actually approach her for a spar, but she at least was aware enough to go straight to the lesson; even without her distaste with this lesson, she could appreciate going straight to business. Kearney-sensei, as she was apparently named, introduced herself, and then...
She flinched, shutting her eyes as a clap rang out and her hair blew back. She was only in the second row, so the unnecessarily loud clap of force was almost close enough to hurt her years. Michi felt something again, a touch of annoyance, enough to glare slightly, her opinion of her sensei lessening somewhat as she fixed her hair again, or as much fixing as the difficult-to-tame-part-metal-mass was. That was entirely unnecessary, the sound and the show of force both, was the whole lesson going to be stuff like this? The idea of actually showing her quirk off was loathesome, she thought, only half-paying attention to her demonstration of her weakness. As somewhat interesting as it was, she was distracted by the thought of weakness... somehow, she doubted that listing all of her weaknesses would not be looked well on, so what out of her many weaknesses should she mention?
“So… how about first in first down? You.”
Michi blinked, pulled out of her thoughts, and with a sigh, she replied, "Yes, sensei." She pushed herself up, stepping down to the floor, moving beside Kearney and turning to everyone. She briefly looked at Yang, remembering the sign language they used around her, but she reminded herself that she was a mute, not deaf, and didn't sign her words.
Her eyes were half-glazed, suppressing nearly every emotion she had, and spoke monotonously. "I am Michi Yamazaki, and my quirk has been named Skeleton of Steel. In practical terms, my quirk seemingly also boils down to super strength, my muscles essentially in a near-constant state of working out due to the extreme weight that they need to move. There is more, apparently, but that seems to be the gist."
The thought of her weaknesses briefly made her anger flair up again, and as she spoke again, there was a little emotion in her voice, a little hatred towards herself detectable just faintly. "My biggest weakness is my weight. I weigh half a ton in Imperial measurements, and I have to be careful with my weight and my strength every moment of every hour of every day, or else I will break something." She glared as she spoke, her fist squeezing, trembling slightly, but she stopped herself, suppressing her feelings again, her voice returning to the blank emotionlessness of before as she bowed her head. "Surami-senpai, it's your turn."
She then moved back to her seat, closing her eyes for a moment, reciting her mantra one more time, just in case, to completely remove her anger.

A s Angel sat on the top row of the bleachers she couldn't help but smile at the fact that Red Horn had greeted her rather nicely and even commented how she seemed even more excited then usual. She then took note of a rather stoic and somewhat attractive samurai woman walked into the room, nodded to their teacher out of respect and then just sat down. This made two women that Angel didn't know, but hoped to get to know during this class! The last person to show up however Angel did in fact know as Yumi's room mate and shooting star Karen. Angel listened silently as Karen greeted Red Horn before sitting down. Once all the players were present it seemed it was time for the game to begin as Red Horn stepped up and named the rules of said game. They were to step up and give their names, quirks, what they did and then said quirks weaknesses. Red Horn even offered a friendly spar so that they could display what they could do off the books which caused Angel to grin excitedly as she was never one to turn down that kind of opportunity. What came next however surprised Angel quite a bit actually causing her to lean forward as if to get a closer look. The young mutant listened silently and rather intently as Red Horn explained her quirk basically was super strength which Angel already knew. What she didn't know however or at least not as well was that it was tied to her emotions and if she was completely calm her muscles actually deflated a little! This caused Angel's eyes to go wide as she remembered not only what happened at the construction site when her mentors skin began to turn red,but also when Angel herself was called upon to help hold off cultists while her mentor went on a destructive rampage. As she considered this Angel spoke softly to herself. "That explains a lot."Once Red Horn was done she called upon the girl that had arrived first who then stepped down and in front of the class. She then introduced herself as Michi and explained that her quirk was called skeleton of skill which meant that her bones must be in fact made of said metal. She went on to explain that because of this her muscles were constantly in use just to have her move giving her super strength and in fact she weighed half a ton which Angel actually found quite impressive that she could move at all,but in fact she had to take extra effort to not break stuff much like Angel found herself doing these days. Once Michi called on her Angel stood up,spread her wings and took to the air to touch down next to Red Horn with an excited smile. "Hi everyone! I'm Angel Surami code name the Angel of Mercy. My quirk is simply known as Angel wings which is a mutation type quirk. As you saw it allows me to fly,but that's not all it allows me to do! I can also harden my feathers density to that of soft metal such as bronze, but i am increasing it all the time! I shall demonstrate!"Angel then turned toward the concrete blocks that Red Horn had brought it, hardened five feathers from her left wing and launched them straight one of the corners of a block causing the feathers to cut straight through and hit the wall behind them and sink in. Angel then turned back to the class and rested her wings flat against her back for a moment. "In terms of weaknesses I can only think of three major ones and one of them doesn't really have to do with my quirk, but is instead the result of it. The first big weakness is that my feathers are extremely flammable and so in situations like fire rescue I am kinda useless. My second weakness is that due to having to use a ton of energy to operate my wings and use the hardening aspect I have to intake a ton of calories a day or i'll drop from the sky in exhaustion, but on the upside I can eat all the candy and drink all the soda I want! Lastly.."Angel paused for a moment and reached up and removed her right hearing aid and moved her hair so that the class and Red Horn could see the round jagged hole where her ear or eardrums never grew before returning her hearing aid to it's proper place. "Due to the size of my wings at birth my ears didn't have space to grow and so without these hearing aids I'm completely deaf. This means if my hearing aids get taken out by electric or sound based attacks I lose my equilibrium which is needed for flight. I do however know sign language if that matters in this situation. One last note just because i'm unsure if it's caused by my quirk or not,but I also have super strength as well as super speed."Angel grinned and bowed before taking to the air once more pointing down at the stoic attractive girl with the sword. "You're up! Oh and Ms.Red Horn I'll gladly take a sparring match!"Angel then quickly and gently flew back to her spot on the bleachers and sat back down resting her wings on her back once more. She was excited to see what the sexy stoic samurai could do.

Yang pondered for a minute as she sat to herself and the rest of the students came in and sat on the bleachers. Was this an all girl’s group? This was definitely different. However she didn’t give it much thought as Ms. Kearney began to speak. As she began to speak she had a warm smile. She began to describe this as a ‘quirk ingenuity’ class. This made Yang curious. Ms. Kearney wanted them to do combat lessons? Oh this made Yang quite nervous. Of course she had a wooden sword now but Ms. Kearney made it obvious she wanted their quirks involved. She also stated that she wanted each of them to introduce themselves and talk about their quirks. Well today out of all days, Yang was grateful she had an interpreter…or she thinks she had one? Yamazaki could translate for Yang if she wanted to but Yang couldn’t force her. She sighed and could only hope that everyone else here could understand her as she would attempt to explain herself using sign language. Of course now that Yang thought about it. She didn’t really say hi or anything to Ms. Kearney. It probably seemed rude that she had a very small wave as she slinked in the area. But Yang figured once she started with the sign language that Ms. Kearney would understand like the rest of the teachers did. Or so Yang hoped. It has been weird since Yang was contempt on playing a role of a mute. Yang blinked she must have drifted off into deep thought when she heard Ms. Kearney state that she would go first. First on what again? It wasn’t long before Yang’s question as answered. Ms. Kearney pulled off her jack and rolled up her sleeves. Before her eyes, Ms. Kearney explained that her hero name as Red Horn and her quirk was pretty straight forward. She gotten into a stance and then clapped loudly that could almost send shockwaves. No it did send shockwaves. Yang wasn’t mistaken however Ms. Kearney now had Yang’s full attention. Ms. Kearney…no Red Horn mentioned that her quirk was super strength. Then Yang’s mouth almost dropped as she watched Red Horn state fairly bluntly her weaknesses as well. Her quirk was tied to her emotional state. Well didn’t that sound familiar? She then slowly returned to normal and picked out Yamazaki and told her to come down here and do the same. It would be the same process until everyone introduced themselves, showed their quirks, and explained their weaknesses. Yang looked at Yamazaki. She definitely looked annoyed. Probably from the earlier demonstration that Red Horn did. From what Yang could tell Yamazaki was a quiet person and didn’t like loud unnecessary noises so she could understand how Yamazki felt at this moment. But of course Yang watched as Yamazaki go down and introduce herself. Yang almost snickered, she could tell that Yamazaki wanted to sign everything for Yang but ended up not doing so. During the tea party, they had a pretty decent time learning about each other. Yang could definitely become friends with Yamazaki if she wanted to do so as well. Yang watched as Yamazaki introduced herself. Her first name was Michi, why did it just occur to Yang that she has been referring to Michi by her last name? Then again if Yang’s memory was correct, did Michi ever state her first name? Yang wasn’t sure at this point because that was some time ago. She watch as Michi began to explain her quirk as well. Skeleton of Steel that’s what she called it. Yang was definitely curious and watched Michi begin to shake? “Huh?” she thought to herself. As Michi began to explain her weakness, she displayed emotion. So Michi did have emotions but only the emotions only showed when they were strong and it was very painfully obvious that she hated the fact her quirk made her weight a constant issue. As she got done explaining, she returned to normal and told someone by the name of Surami to come down because it was her turn. Yang watched as Michi sat down and the angel girl get up. So her name was Surami? She fly down towards Red Horn and introduced herself. Her name was Angel Surami and her hero name was Angel of Mercy. Was Yang the only one here without a hero name? It seemed like it. She sighed slightly as she watched Angel begin to explain that her quirk was very obviously her angel wings but then she did something that wasn’t so obvious. Some of the feathers on her wings began to harden as she went towards the concrete blocks that Red Horn brought in. Yang took note of those since she was probably next. She watched as some of Angel’s feathers began to harden. She then launched them? The feathers can detach from the wings? Oh boy did Yang judge her quirk a bit too quickly. Her feathers were able to cut through the concrete. That was definitely an amazing feature that made her quirk more interesting then what it seemed. Angel then described her weaknesses. She had hearing aids in? That’s what those things were? Yang was a bit curious but she honestly those were more for show than functional. So another person that knew sign language. Maybe this won’t be as bad as she thought it would be. But of course she couldn’t ask Michi or Angel to interpret for her. She could only hope one of them would just do it…or this would be a long and weird introduction. Yang watched as Angel bowed and eagerly accepted a sparring match from Red Horn before flying back to her set. She sighed, it was her turn wasn’t it? 'Might as well get this over with... she thought to herself as she got up from her seat position and headed down the bleachers. She was nervous and maybe even paranoid. She felt as though all eyes were on her and maybe just because they were? It was quiet the entire time Yang walked herself down the bleachers and over towards Red Horn. She bowed towards Red Horn and her class mates and took a long breathe before she began to sign. "My name is Yang. I am mute" she started off slowly in hopes that they would understand. However she paused when it came down to explaining her quirk. Why did this part have to be the hardest? She sighed and began to sign again. "My quirk is blood. I call it "Bloody Rose" because if I hit anything inhuman it leaves a bloody rose mark..." she trailed off as she looked down at her Bokken. It was wooden. It would be quite some time before she could make herself bleed; however, she did have to demonstrate for the class didn't she? She sighed and regretted not bringing the other swords. Hopefully no one would be grossed out on what she was going to do next. She closed her hazel eyes with gray fleeks and when she reopened them, her eyes were blood red. This indicated her quirk was active but only internally. She could just show the super strength but wouldn't that be boring? Yang sighed since she did have increased strength even her wooden sword could even leave cuts instead of bruises. There was no other easy way to do this besides just doing it. She proceeded to make a small cut on her arm. Of course this probably seemed more disturbing then anything but she did just explain her quirk was blood and she was the easiest source to get it from. She stood there emotionless as she watched her wound bleed a bit. This was something she was used to but she had to tune everyone else out or her quirk would not work. She breathe in slowly and concentrated. The blood should have dripped onto the floor but instead it wrapped around her bokken. She could control it as long as she concentrated. This is when she got into her sword fighting stance as she looked at the concrete blocks as well or what was left of them. She did the first from which was an upward slash. What was ever left over from the concrete now was splattered with blood. She hit them with ease since she was only wielding one weapon. As soon as the blood connected it rearranged itself into a form of a rose. Of course she knew that she couldn't leave her blood there. Obviously Red Horn brought the blocks for more than this demonstration. Now the fun part. Yang could heal herself with her blood but she had to recall it. This was probably one of the more difficult thing she could do but it would be a good demonstration of what her quirk does. Yang continued to control her breathing but she was sweating at this point. Her quirk was always exhausting which is why she would prefer not using it in combat unless it was necessary. She had to concentrate even harder but surely and slowly she was able to recall the blood that she split back into the wound that she created. The wound healed over time. She then looked back to her teacher and classmates. She then started to sign again. "My quirk gives me increased strength, regenerative properties, and other things... she trailed off not wanting to include the fact that she if she hit a blood filled object rather human, animal, etc it would drain them of their stamina. It wasn't long though when she picked back up with the sign language. "My biggest weaknesses with this quirk is that it can be a strain on my body to continuously use my own blood for the source. I always have to have a source for it to work" she signed. She then bowed as she was done and looked over to the next person and nodded in the general area to give them the sign that it was there turn. However when Yang went back to the bleachers. She stopped at the first level and sat down. She needed to recover after using her quirk to that extent.

She was of course very glad to know that Mia wanted to pass on some thanks for the gear that their company provided. If she remembered right they managed to come up with something that suited Red Horn's needs and if it was still holding up after a year then that was quite the success. Feedback, particularly positive ones, were always welcome. She would definitely pass on the word. "That's great to hear! I'll definitely let them know. Thanks as well for continuing to rely on us."Moving on, the class was finally starting. It seemed she really was the last to arrive. Mia would briefly explain the circumstances for holding that lesson. If she had to read between the lines from the hero's words, Mia probably did want to hold an old fashioned combat class but for one reason or another wasn't allowed to. Again perhaps it had to do with the veteran being assigned as a homeroom teacher this year. She couldn't help but be curious about the details. She wondered if she would get in trouble if she tried to look it up... Anyway the first part was introductions and a bit of quirk demonstration. This wasn't something totally new. They did the same every year for the homeroom classes. What was different however was talking about weaknesses. Most people would want to keep those secret but seems today they would have to share that. Well as much as she would rather not talk about her own weak points in detail, there was a thing or two she could probably share that some people who knew her could have probably figured out already. As she had already seen them before, there wasn't anything too surprising about Mia and Angel, watching their demonstrations and introductions, apart from the details about their weaknesses. Somehow emotional state being Red Horn's weakness seemed predictable to her. Like it made a lot of sense somehow, even though she hadn't seen it first hand until today. Perhaps it was just from the way the hero carried herself. Karen did get a lot of insight about the veteran's personality and views before. As for Angel, the upperclassman seemed to be the most open among everyone present. Not only did Angel name several weaknesses, the winged girl even described some strengths that weren't immediately obvious. The other two she had not seen in action prior to today. The one person in the room that she didn't recognize was a freshman. And, well, from how the girl spoke, it didn't seem like they were too pleased to be here today. Karen couldn't get an exact read on them but they definitely didn't sound too excited to be present in this lesson. It was an interesting quirk though, having a skeleton of steel. Michi mentioned that strength was the main benefit but it wasn't hard to guess that it also came with toughness. Right before her turn came it was Yang who was up to give a demonstration. Now this girl, despite not having much opportunities for Karen to interact with so far, was a classmate. They had transferred in very late last year and as the class president then Karen was privy to few details about the girl. First of all it would seem Yang was apparently mute. This was one of the reasons Karen hadn't been able to properly get to know them as she wasn't really well-versed in sign language. While she kept a straight face while watching Yang's introduction, in her mind she was a little downhearted that she couldn't actually understand it. The demonstration that followed however was pretty informative. This wasn't the first time that Karen had seen someone use a quirk that had the prerequisite of injuring themselves in order to make it work. In fact about a year ago there was one upperclassman who also had a blood related quirk that they used in a similar way. Given her family background, she wasn't the type to find this sort of thing disturbing. She had seen much worse from certain customers who purchased things from their company. But she could imagine some people might not find it easy to stomach such a performance. On her part she felt it was best to keep a neutral expression of showing interest. It was finally Karen's turn, standing up after Yang returned to sit down. She walked towards the center of the floor where everyone could see her before speaking up. "Hello~ For those who don't know me, I'm Karen Hoshizora from 2-A. My quirk is flight! I basically channel it through an aura."No sooner had she finished speaking when said bright reddish aura suddenly engulfed her body. She would then smile and rise up a couple of meters off the ground for a few seconds before heading back down. Her aura would then vanish as she spoke again. "My weakness is that the effectiveness of my quirk is largely tied to how covered up I am. For instance, this tracksuit is actually acting as a sort of limiter for me."She would gesture to the long sleeved outfit while speaking to emphasize. Afterwards she would proceed to unzip her jacket, revealing a black cropped tank top underneath. She was no where as muscular as Mia was but she was definitely quite toned - the results of her year of training. Setting her jacket down on the ground, she would proceed to release her aura again, producing a glow that was noticeably brighter and more vivid than earlier. She would not fly up this time though, only displaying the difference in intensity of her aura. "Hopefully I don't have to take off my pants to illustrate the point further~"She would joke, but in reality she was in fact wearing cycling shorts underneath so she was ready for such an eventuality. She would then deactivate her aura again and pick up her jacket, putting it on but leaving it unzipped. "The more aura I can release, the faster I can go. But as you saw earlier, it's not very good for the purposes of stealth, which I suppose is another weakness."With that she would conclude her introduction and demonstration and return to her seat.

First up then, Michi. Lets see what this kid was made of. Mia shifted to the side a bit and let Michi stand infront of everyone with RedHorn herself standing off to the side and observing her. It seemed her quirk didn’t have too much to it she could ‘demonstrate’ but still Mia would make sure to listen and offer some natural politeness to the situation, folding her arms and observing. She was a bit… monotone, but at the very least she was a fairly competent speaker because of it, not captivating everyone by any means but she spoke firmly and clearly. Didn’t exactly have the energy she expected of a UA kid but… hey. The school attracted all sorts at the end of the day.
It was when she moved onto her weaknesses though that Mia had her interest peaked, her brow rising, not because of the weakness itself but because of the emotions that clearly slipped through with it. While Mia had been a bit… careful, when revealing her weaknesses, selectively choosing the less worrisome of her key issues with her own quirk, what to Mia seemed to be a fairly obvious issue was causing Michi a clear bit of pain to be open about. Still, the girl grit her teeth, and put it out there all the same… she had to respect that.
Angel up next and… well nothing new. Mia knew enough about her quirk but it was nice to get a bit of chipperness to follow up, even if… it could come off a bit tone death after Michi’s own display. Mia’s eyes would briefly linger on the girl with a skeleton of steel as she returned to the bleachers, before shifting her gaze to Angel herself and watching her display on…
Concrete blo- did she bring those? She didn’t remember it but she may have had them left over from the last time she ran this class and didn’t even realize. Ah well, seemed the were coming in useful.
And of course, Angel took her up on the chance of a spar, Mia nodding along. “Aight, I’m sure we can work out a time after class or something.” She gave Angel a brief clap as she returned to her seat, kinda liking she was open about more than one weakness of her quirk and how it affected her body. In the back of her mind Mia wondered how many students here might remember eachother’s weaknesses should they go up against eachother in the future… it’d be interesting to see who had a keen mind like that here in the year to come.
Next up, Yang. It became very clear when she started that she was mute. Mia briefly showed surprise and wondered if she could hear everything that came before, but the fact she didn’t see anyone translate for her made that clear enough and… right. Sign for Mute.
“Hey hold up a sec.” She held a hand up for the girl as Mia moved from the side stance she’d been taking with everyone and sat infront of the bleachers with everyone else. Back when she’d first joined the hero program she’d taken some lessons in sign language to help communicate with the deaf in disaster situations. She was… VERY rusty, but after a moment of scanning her own brain she managed to get out the sign for ‘continue’. Before turning her eyes over her shoulder, a very eager Angel apparently having been translating so far. “Angel you mind keeping that up for anyone who doesn’t speak it?” It’d also be helpful for Mia too, some of the more obscure sign-words might elude her afterall.
Yang went on to display her quirk and like the others was brave enough to give a weakness. Briefly Mia’s worry flared up… not having great memories of the last UA kid she knew to have a blood quirk, but as the wound closed up after the display she was left a little at ease. Still seemed a bit warn out, but she was open with the weakness there. Again Mia clapped for her display, feeling a bit guilty Michi’s upset moment had caught her off guard enough that she hadn’t remembered to clap for her.
Standing up, she’d move back to the side of the ‘main display’ and gesture for Karen to follow her. She remembered talking about the kid’s quirk with her once and saw it at the sports festival, but a direct display like this was a first. She let out a bit of a chuckle at the joke about her pants, but otherwise noted it was related to skin exposure… hoo boy the boys were gonna love that when she became a pro. She shook the internal joke from her mind though, and gave Karen a brief applause for displaying her quirk like that much like she had the others, finally turning around to them as they all sat again.
“Thank you all for being pretty brave and basically telling everyone else here how best to kick your ass. I’m actually kinda impressed you were all willing to give a weakness to your potential rivals.” She teased with a mild smirk, taking a slow breath. “Now, part of the reason I considered this class is I’m very pro-quirk. I mean, beyond just having one myself of course.~” She teased. “I like the idea that any quirk, no matter what, can be a great benefit moreso than a hinderance. I myself found a lot of advertsity thanks to my quirk. I mean sure. I was the toughest kid in school but… growing up in a pretty religious area in America. With a massive Red horn. Tusks… and you out-punched most of the boys? Made me a pretty easy target. So with a class like this, if it catches on, I wanted to see about making sure we all make the best out of our quirks, from our strengths to our weaknesses. Which brings be onto our next segment.”
Mia took a moment and loosened up her neck, nervous she’d turned that a bit too personal but… she liked getting the kids to know her more personally, why she wanted them to view their quirks as immense positives, even though she was sore most of them already did. Afterall they were at UA. “I want each of you to come up with a way to use another student’s quirk. A student here, of course. Now, use ONLY the information you’ve been given so far. If someone can already do what your thinking of, but didn’t show it, it doesn’t matter. Of course don’t cheat and use stuff you found out outside of this class, I’m looking to just test how creative you guys can get.”
She’d raise a finger, and smirk. “Bonus points by the way if you can turn anyone’s weakness into a potential strength. Remember, it doesn’t matter IF they can actually do it. Just be creative.~”
She looked over the students, glancing at Michi, pausing.
“I… am gonna let you guys discuss that, for a sec, shoot ideas, maybe decide who’s gonna talk about who else’s quirk…Michi you mind comin’ over here a sec?”
Mia would start moving off to the side away from the bleachers. If Michi was reluctant to come over, Mia wouldn’t push hard, but give a little tip of her head as a final nudge. If she was truly resistant Mia wouldn’t force it-
IF however she came over, Mia would take a seat on one of the concrete blocks remaining, trying to be more ‘level’ with Michi and speaking quietly so that the other kids didn’t eavesdrop. “Hey er… if this lesson ain’t for you I don’t mind you leavin. Just… wanna make that clear. Seemed like you had a rough time talking about your quirk a minute ago is all and I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable.”

Well, ignoring the subject being, for her uses at least, completely unnecessary and an exercise in uselessness, the people in it registered as slightly more interesting. It registered that this was an all-girl class, but it wasn't particularly notable, so it barely existed as a thought in her mind. The individuals were something more notable.
Surami-senpai was... energetic, to say the least. She went above and beyond, which Michi could respect, if nothing else. She not only told her name, but her 'code name', and even demonstrated her quirk on some concrete blocks, then went on to list several weaknesses, including showing a lack of ears that was... in all honesty, a sight that she did not need. Though, the information that she was deaf was actually interesting... it was a sense of familiarity, a bittersweet reminder of home, and as if Surami had heard her thoughts, she even said that she was fluent in sign language.
With a clap from Red Horn, her turn was done, and next was the only one out of all of them that she knew. She wondered how she was going to explain everything, and Michi actually perked up a little bit, almost wondering if she would interperet for her, but Surami beat her to it, which she tried to not let disappoint her too much. Instead, she focused on Yang's quirk, and her eyes actually flinched slightly when she had to cut her hand to activate it, and show it off very gruesomely, not to mention take it back in to heal, apparently.
Not a quirk Michi envied, not that she even envied any to began with.
Kearney-sensei clapped for Yang-san when she was done, and Michi's eyes flicked to her, noticing that she hadn't gotten a clap. Was it because her quirk was too simple? It was closer to her's than any other, and neither of them were quite as much a show as the others - certainly less than Yang's, but as far as she was concerned, in that case it was a good thing. She almost wondered if Kearney hated her quirk, too, but what she had seen so far made her doubt that.
Next was Hoshizora-senpai, as she introduced herself, and her quirk was a light show, apparently granting her flight, which was at least better than the previous show, but still didn't impress Michi any. Her thoughts and her eyes had turned back to Kearney-sensei anyway; something tugged on the edge of her mind, something about her was familiar. But it was hard to place, it wasn't like her face was familiar, or even her presence... she had never even been close to her before now, so there wasn't any reason for the feeling, but... she couldn't quite shake it, it was like there was something deep in the pit of her mind, somewhere, like a memory of a memory, and as much as she tried to pay attention to Hoshizora-senpai, Kearney-sensei caught her attention more.
With Hoshizora's display done, Mia walked back to the front of the class and addressed them. Michi blinked at the joke, it flying over her head, wondering how extra weight was supposed to help people 'kick her ass'; but she didn't consider herself much of a fighter, so she just assumed that others would have had a better idea for that sort of thing than she. Hell, in her experience, her weight probably would help with a fight.
"I like the idea that any quirk, no matter what, can be a great benefit moreso than a hindrance."
Michi almost scoffed at that; she disagreed there entirely; her quirk had been nothing but a hindrance her entire life... even before her life, actually, and in a lot of ways. She was more in control of her emotions now; despite not approving of that idea, she showed no outward reaction to it, and just continued to listen to the lesson.
So, they were supposed to come up with a use of someone else's quirk... and get extra marks if they turned a weakness into a strength. Great. She mentally sighed at this assignment, already feeling the failing grade incoming, but she had to try. She had to pass some class, and at this point, she would settle for a barely passing a class. Rubbing her eyes, trying to ignore the lack of sleep catching her off guard a little, she first turned to Yang, a quirk using her blood as a weapon. How was she supposed to give a strength to a quirk like that, when it exhausted her so deeply? That said nothing of the other two; Surami-senpai, who probably knew her quirk so intimately by now that she knew how to manipulate it finely, or Hoshizora-senpai, whose stated weakness made it near impossible to think of ways around it.
Her eyes turned back to Kearney, just in time for her to call Michi and motion her over. She blinked in response, but got up, walking down the steps to her. Maybe it was because their quirks were similar, but somehow it was easier for her to think about Kearney's quirk. She couldn't guess as to Keanery's particular style, but... if she could change so dramatically depending on her mood,w hat if she used that as a weapon, shifting her fighting style in such a way as to seriously mess with her opponent's adaptation?
She blinked again when, as she approached, Kearney-sensei sat on a block, more eye-level with her, and spoke. “Hey er… if this lesson ain’t for you I don’t mind you leavin. Just… wanna make that clear. Seemed like you had a rough time talking about your quirk a minute ago is all and I don’t wanna make you uncomfortable.”
Great, she got upset again, and people caught it. Damnit! She was supposed to be in control of her emotions, and people were catching onto her really easy now! She was burdening more and more people! Her frustration grew, but Michi didn't show it; her voice as monotone, her face as blank as ever, bowing to Kearney. "I'm sorry, Kearney-sensei, I'm fine. I just didn't get a lot of sleep last night," she said, only half-lying since she really had been staying up late most days to study more.
She lifted her head again, and the odd sense of familarity was slightly stronger now, but it still wasn't like an actual feeling, it was too vague for her to place it. "I do have a question, though," she asked, "does it have to be a student? Could it be you?"

A ngel couldn't help but grin widely and brightly as things seemed to really get interesting as Yang was the next to step up and surprisingly began to sign that she was mute and so out of reflex Angel began to interpret and speak aloud every word that Yang signed for the entire room to hear. She even did her best to match the tone of voice that Yang's body language and stoic nature seemed to give off. What happened next caused Angel's eyes to go wide in shock for a moment as Yang cut herself to activate her quirk before she then slashed the blood to one of the concrete blocks creating the rose shape that she had signed about. Angel quickly got over her shock and finished interpreting until Yang sat down. Angel would then lean down with a grin. "That was pretty rad Yang! That was quite the display and it gave me a couple ideas of how to possibly help You."Before Angel could continue however it was Karen's turn to step up and show what she could do. Angel had met her once or twice and so she was pretty familiar with at least the basics of her quirk. Angel knew all about how she could fly through the aura produced through her skin, but she knew that the young woman deserved her chance to speak to those who didn't know her and for their teacher who seemed to know the young second year through some sort of business deal. Once Karen sat back down and Ms.Red Horn stepped back up and thanked everyone for sharing before giving them their next assignment. They were to pick someone in the class and offer a new creative way of using their quirk or even a way of overcoming one of their weaknesses for extra credit. Once they were allowed to mingle Angel rather quickly moved next to where Yang was sitting with a big smile. "Like I was saying earlier watching you gave me some rather creative ideas if you are willing to hear them! The first thing i was thinking was what if you went to the support course and asked them to develop you some type of blood storage system like a couple of small tanks with puncture needles to get the blood into them? You could also manually fill said tanks with the likes of animal blood. My adopted brother has a vampiric quirk and he drinks animal blood to keep his cravings down. I guess what I'm saying is that may help you from having to injure yourself each time. I was also wondering if you were able to say harden the blood you use for your techniques? If so you could develop a defensive shield type move or maybe a set of wings or spikes!"Angel smiled happily at Yang. Maybe it was because they were both technically disabled, but she felt a genuine connection between the two that she really wanted to foster! After a few moments Angel gave Yang a more gentle smile. "This isn't training related, but if you ever wanna like hang out I'd totally be up for it. I know what it's like to feel like the odd girl out due to my disability. It would be nice to have a friend who truly understands and gets it."

Yang was glad there was another student up before Ms. Red Horn would ultimately analyze everyone. Mostly likely Ms. Red Horn give her feedback and do something else. The next person up was Karen. She was in the same class Yang was in. Maybe they could be friends later? Yang didn’t ponder that thought long because Karen’s quirk was definitely interesting. She can fly but it’s channeled through he own aura? The demonstration definitely answered any questions that Yang hand. As she watched Karen grow red and in the sky she went. She then explained her weakness. It was quite interesting that clothes were her weakness but almost as soon as she took off her jacket, it was difference. Karen’s aura was definitely brighter. It definitely had Yang’s attention. Karen then added that she could even go faster but at the cost of stealth. And just like that she was done. Yang watched her and recollected her own demonstration. Luckily there was someone that translated Yang’s sign language. It definitely surprised Ms. Red Horn had attempted to figure it out. She even signed the word continue as she remembered that Angel was in the class. Angel had translated everything for the others in the room so they wouldn’t be lost. When it came to Yang using her quirk she could see that Ms. Red Horn was concerned but ended up clapping for her in the end. This definitely surprised Yang and maybe a few others. Yang wasn’t really paying attention to the other people in the room because she was exhausted. But now that it has been some time considering Karen just finished displaying her quirk. Ms. Red Horn waited until Karen was seated before speaking. She thanked everyone that participated and then gave a bit of her backstory. How her quirk has given her strife. Yang had looked at Ms. Red Horn differently. Maybe later after the class Yang could ask her personal questions. Obviously Ms. Red Horn had a very interesting time figuring stuff out before she became a hero. Something that Yang needed guidance on. Ms. Red Horn then mentioned the next portion of the class. She wanted them to be creative with the other quirks that were displayed and there was bonus points if any one of them could turn a weakness into a strength. Yang’s face fell. She wasn’t creative with her own quirk. Let alone how could she be creative with someone else’s quirk? She was racking her brain trying to figure out something…anything. Luckily she wasn’t first. Ms. Red Horn picked Michi first. Michi….steel skeleton? Right her weakness was…UH her weight right? Maybe Yang should see how Michi would answer and try to figure it out from there. But to Yang’s surprise, Michi was also trying to figure out who to pick. She watched as Michi’s gaze go from person to person. But something Ms. Red Horn had said had Michi apologizing. What was Michi apologizing for again…? Yang thought about it for a moment. Then she had one of those light bulb moments, was Michi apologizing because she displayed emotion earlier when describing her weakness? Yang wasn’t sure but she turned her attention away from her inner thoughts to Michi. Michi had asked if it could be Ms. Red Horn as the example. Yang blinked and tried to remember what Ms. Red Horn’s weaknesses were. Emotions…her weakness was her emotions. So if she were to enter into an almost unstoppable rage than her quirk would continue but if she was in a depression then she would have a harder time staying motivated? “Ugh….” she thought to herself as she held her head. Her head wasn’t down long before she heard Angel speak. When did Angel sit next to her? Was Yang just that out of it? Maybe it was because she used that much blood to both demonstrate the weird properties as well as regenerate the surface wood she had created. Once Angel was allowed to express her creative ideas. She mentioned that her adoptive brother had a vampire quirk. She also mentioned a blood storage system that could be filled with any type of blood so she could always readily have a supply. It was a great idea. She then questioned rather if Yang could harden her blood. This was a particularly difficult question for Yang to answer. She could…well not her but her alternative personality Red. Red had more control over the blood and could do so much more than Yang could ever do. But Red wasn’t in control of the body most of the time, it was Yang. Maybe one day they can be one person, Red could only hope. Yang blinked when she heard Angel say that they could hang out some times. She nodded to the idea. It wouldn’t hurt to have more friends. But of course could Yang really call herself disabled? She could talk…it was just hard. Her not talking was mostly due to trauma and only a little bit of it was her personal preference. Maybe with therapy she could get work through her trauma…as long as she didn’t get arrested for some of the past deeds she done. Of course that was something that always loomed over her head. She sighed and remembered that they were in a quirk creativity class and it was basically her turn to turn to be creative with someone’s quirk as well as attempt to turn their weakness into a strength. She would socialize later. She looked around at each person participating and tried to recollect their quirk and their weakness. This was hard. “Sorry I am not very creative…” she signed sheepishly. Yang sighed. Her gaze finally set on Michi. She said her weight was a weakness but what if she was launched or fell from a great distance? The pure force from gravity and the impact she would or could make might be as devastating as a meteor that was large enough to crash through the earth’s atmosphere and create a crater wherever it landed. "Michi I think if you were to ever purposely jump or fall from a great distance and activate your quirk while in midair it could be interesting…” she signed as she looked at Michi. Yang hoped she didn’t insult Michi because she was basically implying that her weight could be her greatest strength rather than a burden. Of course Yang could understand why her weight was an issue. Water, she would drown if she were to ever have her quirk activate while near a source of water. Yang shuddered at the thought but hoped that would be enough to satisfy Ms. Red Horn’s challenge.

With everyone done giving their demonstrations Mia would further discuss the goals for today's class. The top hero started by sharing their very idealistic view of quirks which Karen found very like Mia. On one hand she definitely admired the positivity. But her more logical side would argue that statistically this simply wasn't always the case. Her family's business in particular dealt with these sorts of instances everyday. But perhaps the main takeaway from this was to be more optimistic. Even if you happened to have a troublesome quirk, don't give up on thinking of ways to live life comfortably in spite of it. And if you can't do it on your own, then don't be afraid to reach out to someone who can help you. Which leads to Mia's next exercise. The veteran hero suggested that they try to come up with creative uses for someone else's quirk that they've seen earlier. Upon hearing this, she sort of felt a little bad that she didn't give as detailed a demonstration as a few of the others there. She certainly felt she could have given her schoolmates something more to work with, but it was too late for that now. They were given some time to brainstorm so she listened attentively to what the others had to say. Perhaps someone could still come up with a good idea for her either way. Michi had to be excused for a bit as Mia went to speak with them but Angel was more than happy to get the ball rolling for their group. The winged upperclassman would talk about Yang's quirk, suggesting keeping a supply of blood on hand rather than resorting to injuring themselves every time they wanted to use their quirk. This made a lot of sense and was definitely a good option if Yang's control of blood extended to others and not just their own. She could recall any mention of such earlier though. The other suggestion was being creative with hardening their blood. Yang didn't show anything like that either so it was worth considering too. When it became Yang's turn to speak, or rather sign, she found herself at a loss again being unable to understand sign language as well as the others present. She could make out at least that Yang was referring to Michi, but she couldn't quite guess what exactly was being signed. She looked to Mia or Angel if anyone of them could interpret. If not, she would just wait until Yang seemed like they were done. She was the last to go again anyway and wasn't really feeling too impatient. With everyone else having chosen who to come up ideas for, Karen was pretty much left with thinking about something for Angel's quirk as the upperclassman was the only other person besides her who didn't have any suggestions yet. "I suppose I should think of something for Angel-senpai then. I hope this doesn't count as cheating but I do know someone, a customer from one of our stores, who also had wings as their quirk. As they weren't hero or had any license, they couldn't use their wings to fly in public. But that didn't stop them from 'using' their quirk per se."
"Basically what they did was use their wings like a second pair of arms and hands. They had enough control to carry things with them, open doors, pick up things they dropped, etc. I think that given Angel-senpai seems to be able to manipulate her feathers well, she probably has enough control do the same with some training. Speaking as a martial artist, you'd definitely be more formidable being able to fight with extra limbs. And since you can harden them, it probably safer to 'punch' things with them than say, use your bare hands."To be honest, as she didn't have wings herself, she really wasn't sure how hard or easy it was to do what she was suggesting. Were wings really not that much different from arms or hands? Only someone who had wings could answer that. But it was worth a try. From what she saw from Angel's demonstration, their wings were both their strength and weakness. So if they could train them differently in some way, it ought to help even just a bit.
