You Can Do WHAT? [Kogami & Kasey!]

"Meow.....meow....."

Towards some kind of small garden with newly planted trees, a cat could be seen in the distance of where Kasey was. There were two people to be exact, a little girl and a pretty tall teenager that seemed to be comforting her in some kind of way.

"That's your cat right?"

Kogami would say as he looked towards the cat and back at the child. The girl would stop crying for a small moment and nodded her head, with Kogami trying to grab at the cat in order to bring it down. However, The cat itself seemed to move around the tree a bit for the sake of avoiding capture.

"Your owner misses you, won't you come down?"

Kogami tried to use a calming voice to no avail. When it seemed like it wouldn't work, Kogamy would use his quirk to grab at the branches nearby and shake them profoundly for the sake startling the cat enough to cause a fall. Once it fell down, Kogami caught it as it struggled in his arm and bit his hand.

"Ouch..."

However, it calmed down after noticing its owner and jumped in her arms instead.

"Gee, thank you mister!"

She said this as she ran off. However, Kogami was a little hurt.

Kogami was somewhat surprised that someone approached him so soon, but from the way that she looked, he wasn't sure if she needed help or anything. Couldn't he tell maybe she was somewhat older than him perhaps? Anticipating the next words that would come out of her mouth, Kogami would give a light stare as he raised his eyebrows when she seemed concerned about his light injury. It was ok, cats bite and act up sometimes. It's even worse for strays, but it seemed like the house cat managed to escape and the child was trying to handle it on her own. It was admirable, and Kogami didn't regret helping her.

"Oh, thanks. "

He wasn't too sure about the bandage himself, probably going to put some ointment on his hand and call it a day after he headed home. However, he couldn't get over the appearance of the lady that approached him and wondered if something was wrong. She could have been a runaway or someone being chances by some big-time villain. The latter seemed less than likely, but you'll never know what's going on in someone's life.

"Are you in some kind of trouble? Those bandages, did you get hurt yourself?" Quite keen on any signs of abuse, Kogami managed to settle his curiosity by outright asking the woman and getting it out of the way.

"Hurting on the inside? Well, there is a saying to that which could be scientifically proven. Emotional pain can only last about 12 minutes, anything longer than that is intentional. With that being said, my question to you is why would anyone do that to themselves for a long period of time?"

Kogami wasn't the type to keep himself depressed for a long period of time, especially if it was somewhat of a choice that he himself had control over. Other than that, hearing that she didn't like shoes very much, it was safewere say that maybe her feet was somewhat sensitive to how being inside shoes felt and blistered easily. If that was the case, it could have been the explanation for the bandages over her feet. This idea managed to push out any sort of negative thought that Kogami possibly had in regards to her bandages.

"Kogami, nice to meet you. So what did you do before then? You were quite quick to come to my aid when you hardly know me. Are you a nurse or something?" He really didn't know what to expect with this lady. It was fair to say that things may go full circle and Kogami helping others turned around to him receiving help as well. However, there was no such thing as coincidences in the world that they lived in. It might not be apparent now, but maybe she was down on her luck and wanted to know about something that Kogami may possibly know about? But how could that be true? After all, he was just a kid.

"To go from a nurse assistant to being some sort of janitor? You must either be really down on your luck, or you lowered your standards for the sake of a job. If it's the latter, I wouldn't recommend that you would apply for the job if you think your talents are best suited somewhere else. If you used to be a nurse assistant back then, why don't you be a nurse assistant for the school next to the head nurse. I don't know what your quirk does, but if you are in fact well educated in taking care of people and handling injuries, I'm sure the folks at U.A would be happy to have you. "

Sticking his hands in his pocket, Kogami would shrug.

"However, I'm just a student. It's not like I could make the call to give you a fair shake. However, it would be best to make yourself look good in front of the head nurse in U.A. I guess the more you know, perhaps it might do you some good to build a friendship with her or get on her good side. " Going through his online handbook in regards of school and the faculty through his phone, Kogami started to scroll through the staff section until he came about the medical section.

"Her name is....SOPHIE SEQUOIA..ring any bells?"

"I don't believe in jobs. The philosophy of following your dreams falls in line with making a career out of it. Some adults say that I'm at the age where it's "ok" to believe something like that, but I think they are wrong. There will be a moment where it won't be about the money anymore. When it happens, well....... nevermind. We come from different situations, maybe I really am too young to understand?"

It probably didn't matter.

"So your skills, you said that you were once a nurse assistant. You also said that you would even take a janitor position if you were assigned to it. Basically, anything to get into this school, but I decided just now that something like that isn't enough for me. It's your life, but if we are to co-exist as a student to faculty, I would want you to be in a place where your experiences and talents are put to good use. Anything lower than that is disrespectful..........." Putting his hands in his pocket, Kogami would mumble something to himself before turning to Kasey again.

"What else can you do besides of what you told me? Maybe I could help you with your pitch? I go to the school you are trying to get into, any sort of resource in reference to that might be invaluable.....maybe."

"I guess being a glorified master of none could be helpful. The school is fairly new, so being able to do almost anything at any given moment might be a good talent to have. I think you'll be fine if that's the case. Stock work and people skills are also something that stands out, as long as you know how to talk to people, they wouldn't have any problems with you not being able to talk to the students as well. Heck, with all that you done, being a guidance counselor with your numerous amounts of experience would be achievable as well."

However, there was something else that was on Kogami's mind, he wondered what the woman could do. " Do you have a quirk? It wouldn't be unheard of to have quirkless staff, but depending on what it is, that would be the icing on the cake. If you aren't comfortable with sharing that information with me, that's fine. I just figured that besides what we already have to go with, you could use the quirk to continue to build a bridge for yourself to enter U.A."

Would her quirk match her personality? She seemed like she didn't care too much about what she was doing unless she was making money. Would that change?

"That doesn't necessarily explain to me what your quirk does, so I'm going to assume that it was the latter and you weren't comfortable in sharing with me what it is. That's fine, I know that people don't like to show what they do. " It was ok with Kogami if she didn't want to, his mild curiosity should take anyone out of their comfort zone if he could help it. If the quirk discussion was off the table, Kogami didn't feel too inclined about talking about his as well.

"One second.."

Taking out his cellphone, Kogami would look into an empty section of where he would keep new contacts. "We can keep and touch and I'll keep you posted about what goes on in the school. Using that, you could possibly build yourself quite the alluring resume to present to the school. It also works to be at the right place at the right time, so if that situation presents itself as well, I'll contact you for that too. "

Kogami wasn't too sure on how much help he could be to this woman in the long run, or if he would be able to help at all. However, Kogami just gave his word to the girl that he would try, and with that being said, he was going to follow through with his promise.
