Pain was a concept that most knew and understood. For others it was a lifestyle. For others, it was all they knew. For one, it was all she would ever know."Did you think anything would change?"
"I planned on something happening."
"Well that something, has given you a full belly, for today at least."
The conversation was hers, and hers alone. She sat on the edge of an abandoned building. The front of it was caved in, as if it was blown away in some battle not that long ago. It was barren, empty, and carried no riches to take. It was worthless, just as the girl felt. All over her harms, were cuts and wounds. She was hurt to say the least, but not as harmed as the others. She couldn't remember what had happened, or how she got there. All she knew, was she was full and was no longer hungry.
She lifted her legs up from hanging over the edge of the floor. She looked out to the early morning commute. People walked by, but no one paid her any mind. Were they used to life as it was? Her knees would pull in closer to her face as her arms wrapped around them. She rested her chin on her legs and embraced herself. Her white dress was now stained with her own blood, or at least what seemed to be her own. What was she going to do?
