A new year, a new era, and a new start for UA in many ways: one of those ways being that this time it was not going to wait before throwing its students into action. Barely a day into the new year’s beginning, six of the newly-arrived first years had been called to one of UA’s artificial battlefields, where they would be greeted by the intimidating sight of a skull-faced man in a dark cloak. The rest of UA already knew this man to be Geist, combat teacher and resident lunatic. He stood in the centre of the arena with his arms folded and surveyed the students critically from behind his mask. “So you’re the new meat, huh?” he said. “Well, welcome to the grinder. The six of you stand before me now as a bunch of complete nobody losers, but by the time you walk out of this place you will be heroes!” He punctuated this word with a dramatic flexing pose. “Understand? But you can’t become heroes without knowing how to handle yourselves in a fight. And I, Geist, am a personal believer that experience is the best teacher! Which is why you’re here.” He clapped his hands and a projector hidden within a nearby rock beamed an image of the battlefield and a set of rules into the air. “Take a good look! The six of you will be divided into two teams of three, each with a base located at the opposite ends of this arena. In the centre of this arena is a single flag. Your mission is to get that flag into a bucket inside your base before your rival team can!” He gave them a moment to read before the projections vanished. Once it did, he reached into his pockets and tossed a series of red and blue headbands towards the students. “Now what are you waiting for?” His voice had taken on a sensational volume that could probably be heard from the other side of Tokyo. “Get to your bases already! You came here for a reason, didn’t you? Well, now’s the time to prove it!” -- OOC lesson info:
You start from inside your team's base. The flag stands in the centre of the arena. Each skull icon marks the location of a bucket your team must place the flag into in order to win. These buckets are fixed in place, meaning they cannot be moved or knocked over. There are walls behind the bases; they just cannot be seen in this map. The arena is the size of a football pitch. Walls and fences are all fifteen metres high. The grass is waist length. Pools of water are fifteen metres deep. If a student falls in and begins to drown, average student-sized robots that resemble metal stickmen divers with round heads and single glowing eyes will carry them safely to the shore (but only when they begin to drown; if you can swim out yourself they will let you).
Wear your hero costume if you have one or a UA tracksuit if you don't!
Red Team Isaac Levin @hanami Karen Hoshizora
Blue Team Kazu Fureu Iwasaka Shouko Hikaru Manazashi Rules:1. Do not remove your headbands or your opponents' headbands. (You can place them anywhere you want as long as they are visible). 2. Do not maim each other or knock each other out. 3. Do not separate the cloth part of the flag from the rest of it. 4. The game will continue until one team wins. Post order: Kaz (Souta) -> Hikaru (Pug) -> Shouko (Slrar) -> Isaac (Videns) -> Hanami (Pep) -> Karen (Rin)

The Chronicler of the World stands still, looking at the two teammates that will accompany him in this game of "capture the flag." Although, Kaz sighs, this may be harder than he wanted it to be.
His two teammates stand away in a respectable distance. All of them surround the bucket in a sort of "triangle" formation. The mission was easy to understand: Capture the flag from the middle and deliver it back to their base. It's a 3v3 match, so there's no use trying to rely on numbers to win. It's just plain simple 3 on 3, just like that dreaded basketball activity that he despises so much.
Before the match, they were given the choice to wear either the tracksuit, their costume, or if circumstances required, their special clothes. Now, only a fool would not wear their costume. Unfortunately it appears that the Chronicler of the World has been paired up with 2 fools. One is wearing what appears to be a modern take of old japanese wear; a modern old fashioned tunic. She appears to be staring at him. Wonder why. The second teammate appears to be intentionally attempting to ignore him and the girl. He appears to be wearing a nice well formed suit, with a noticeable brand. He also appears to be wearing a fashionable set of sunglasses. While he attempts to ignore the two, Kaz could have swore he saw him peaking from his sunglasses at him. Wonder why. All he was wearing was a fashionable coat, a scarf-ascot, and a top hap with a red mask, which is sadly ruined by the headband they are forced to wear. What else could it be?
Either way, the three remain silent. They don't dare to break the silence surrounding them. So they just...stay there. Doing nothing. Staring at each other. Doing...absolutely...noth-
OKAY THIS IS GETTING A BIT ANNOYING
Kaz lets out a large sigh. Loud enough that hopefully his teammates would notice. "Listen." He says, staring at them. "We know the rules, we know the goal, so what is keeping us here? Fear of failure? Fear of embarrassing ourselves in front of our chosen ones? Now is the time to prove ourselves to them! And, the way to do that, is Action! Now Personally," he rolls his head, smug and sure of himself, "I think two of us should go to the flag while one of us stays around here. Any fortunate volunteers?" He says to his two teammates.

[googlefont=Open+Sans] [attr="class","firstfriend"] ww man, Red? But I'm so clearly a blue kinda guy!" Isaac mumbled to himself as he put the bandanna around his arm. Still it was only a minor incovienece. He couldn't let it distract him. Not that he could let himself be distracted by his color co-ordination even if he wanted to. Their teacher... loud? Yeah loud seems like a polite way to call the pompous, rude, over enthusiastic teacher they had today. Even though his words and tone of voice were very harsh Isaac could easily tell that they had real meaning too them. It was way more heartfelt than anything he had been shouted at before. Speaking of the teacher he did not want to waste any time and told them to get moving to their bases. It all felt very fast passed since they only got a minute to look at the map and see who was even on their team. Still Isaac managed to get a good look at the map and used his quirk to make a very simple map on his skin with his tattoos. He did this on his bicep which was being covered by his U.A track suit. Isaac did have a suit to use but he didn't like wearing it for personal reasons, so for now the tracksuit would do, even if it did hold him back a bit. Once at the base he'd try to talk to his team mates. As he walked up to them he rolled up his sleeves revealing some red tattoos on his arms which looked as though they were wrapped aroundhis arms in thick lines. "Hey, I'm Isaac, nice to meet both of you." He'd quickly. He wanted to keep what he said as brief as he could since they couldn't be sure as to how long they had before they were told to begin. "So as for a plan. I think we should all book it to the flag but once we get to the wall set up a relay kind of system. Are either of you particularly fast?" Once they answered he'd tell the two that he was about average speed and nothing too fast that he could write home about. "My quirk lets me make glue from my body which can then harden, so I can make a type of climbing frame out of the wall in the center for me and someone else to get over. Then the third person can sit on the wall where we start the relay." Isaac was a little jittery from nerves and excitement. He knew this himself but was hoping that he could get his point across without looking too frantic. "Either that or you two run around the wall while I climb on top of it. Then we start the relay. I personally like that plan a bit better, then I can get a good view of the flag and whoever else is approaching and let you two know" He added. He also raised his bicep at this stage and pointed to each area as he spoke. Although it wasn't a totally accurate or elegant recreation of the course it would be good enough to make sense out of as the red tattoo's tried to show a 2d view of the map rather than a 3d. "Any other ideas though? I'm all ears." Looking from one to the other he waited to see what the verdict would be.

The golden child of the Sahara company was unimpressed with his teammates, these were the people they matched him up with? An eccentric with a top hat, and some girl stuck in the middle ages... Just... Lovely.
He gave them one glance before moving his gaze to the field before him, it was equally disappointing. He had expected something a little more... Flavorful perhaps? He couldn't pin it something about how dull the colors were and the use of grass was a little bit of a let-down for the hero school, also not to mention he loathed the idea of going into the grass and getting grass stains on his fresh new hero costume, what was wrong with them? Perhaps these are just growing pains, and by next year they'll sort them out, they better, after all this school's to make heroes not ruffians.
This wasn't all that irked him about his time in the school so far, they also needed to work on student discipline, his occasional visits to the school chat had been very aggressive and sure while it was entertaining to watch people squirm in their attempts to bring him down to their near-microscopic levels, it still annoyed him that this was allowed in the school of heroes. Speaking of disappointments...
Ugh, one of them was talking now, what'd he want? Blah blah embarrassment blah blah chosen one? Blah blah two go one stays. That sounds like about it. Hikaru was both flattered and a little astonished the man knew how embarrassing it was for his chosen one, Hikaru, to be matched up with the rest of them, and gave a little smirk as he folded up his glasses and placed it neatly in his suit pocket, his eyes now returning to his team.
"I'm glad you're so understanding!" He clasped his hands together, enjoying the idea that these two go off by themselves while he keeps away. Yes! I'll "defend" the point, you two go off and... Do whatever it is you two do. This is a wonderful plan!" Students with... Manners and knowledge of his position? How quaint!
"Now go on, what are you waiting for? Go! I'll keep the point safe don't worry!" He started to motion them to leave.

Post by Iwasaka Shouko on Apr 24, 2019 12:45:54 GMT -4
Easily the most excited of the six combatants, Iwasaka Shouko could not hold still for the life of her. Performing a bizarre cross between a stretching routine and a dance number, the girl exclaimed- "Alright! First week, and already a combat lesson! I knew UA wouldn't let me down! Come, on, everyone! Show me all you've got!" The long-haired girl would shout across the field to the opposing team, as well as at her own teammates. Whoever got the flag, getting to see this kind of action up close meant that Shouko was already the biggest winner here!
At a glance, the brunette would appear rather normal. Despite her quirk's mutation classification, nothing out of the ordinary could be seen except that she was not wearing any sort of official UA uniform. Nor did she appear to be wearing a hero uniform, as was permitted by the rules. Her brown tunic formed both shirt and skirt, tied down only by a sash around her waist. Well, even with that, she was less noticeable than her two teammates- One dressed like some sort of stage magician, and the other in a full suit. Is this a battle, or a costume party? "Hmm? Well, having someone stay back would be great if we get the flag- Throw it back to them, and there's a good chance they get to the goal before our enemies reach them... But, unless you've got a ranged quirk or weapon of some kind, it means that we'd have to fight two versus three to get the flag in the first place. Well, either way, I'm going in! There's no way I'd miss the chance to see this fight up close!"
Spouting a quick and casual analysis of the pros and cons of her teammate's strategy, Shouko didn't think too much. She was here to see how people fought, not to bicker over what was the best way to win! Save that for the analysis after the fight! Besides, even if she drew a conclusion, her other teammate had already agreed, so she just shrugged and stepped forward. "Hello!" The girl would call out cheerfully to the opposing team. "It's nice to meet you all! I'm Shouko! But considering the situation, I guess we should go by our hero names, huh?"
Reaching for her sash, Shouko would notably pause. Wait a second, wasn't her hero costume, kinda... You know? Was it really the kind of thing that was okay for a high school girl to wear? Like, it showed so much skin! Maybe she should just fight like this! But wouldn't doing that be like, super disrespectful to her opponents who would be going all out? "Mou! I get it already!" The girl would shout to know one in particular, as she removed her sash in one pull. The brown tunic would flutter aside, revealing the actual costume of Iwasaka Shouko, a dress made of stone that reached to her shins, her torso covered by a stone garment which covered little more than underwear would.
As her arms fell to her sides, a stony shell would appear to grow over them, until they looked more like clubs than hands- And if anyone was in a position to see her face, they would see that her earlier embarassment had vanished without a trace- Save for an odd glaze over her eyes, as though she had conceded to being seen by anyone who had the free time to watch the match. A dull voice droned out, compared to her earlier enthusiasm- "Call me Mithra-chan. Please, treat me well."

hanami fujioka hanami fujioka 791 words i'm sorry i'm not
so exciting... So much pressure already and they have barely only just went through the first day since the beginning of the new year. To say that the blue-eyed girl didn't feel too comfortable with this abrupt start wouldn't be false. But such was the life which she dreamed to one day have. It was now or nothing. Even with her lethargic nature, Hanami promised herself that she would look to become a different student. A much more determined and punctual kind of pupil for all teachers in U.A High.
'... Not the last one, at least...' The girl thought to herself after making her way to the assigned destination. She made her best to not have many eyes on her either, approaching with quiet and calm steps, hoping to merely stay in the background throughout the whole demonstration that would follow not long after she had made herself present.
Not only was the size of the arena itself already quite overwhelming to the easily pressured teen, the combat teacher of U.A proved to be perhaps ten times more intense than that. She held her arms behind her back, hands clasped just over her rear, as she observed and listened intently. Hanami attentively read the rules and studied the entirety of the field. That was a lot of yards. She already knew she would have to run a lot. Or maybe not. Hopefully her partners aren't the overly active type.
For most of the time already spent, Hanami refused to even waste a single breath. It wasn't because she didn't want to, such was solely her nature. To be quiet and avoid being awkward or saying the wrong things. Then again, there's no need to speak until strictly necessary, right? That time would eventually come, as each team made way to their appointed bases. She followed behind her two companions, silently.
As for her costume, she would be wearing the familiar U.A tracksuit, with an extra pocket at the front, more precisely across her stomach, where she rested her hands. Hanami did have the tendency to keep her arms still when walking or being idle, concealed within any reachable pockets. Another extra detail about her tracksuit were small holes torn specifically across the center of her back. For what reason? One could only guess.
By instinct, a curt bow was offered to the first teammate who spoke. While she would have waited for the two of them to speak before her, she didn't, perhaps due to some noticeable uneasiness, as she proceeded to introduce herself, clearly struggling to not stutter. "Um... I'm Hanami." The young teen did look down or away into the distance for the most part when communicating, unable to garner enough courage to even keep a little bit of eye-contact. She truly did feel under some kind of unbearable pressure, to already have to compete so early in the game. This was much, much worse than gaming, she had to admit. Hanami couldn't help, but be jittery the entire time. Her legs were shaky.
Once the inquiry of whether or not she was fast was prompted, she shook her head. An answer that even she knew was quite obvious about herself. The moment Isaac went on to explain his quirk, the girl became aware that she probably had to do the same. But no, she didn't. Her own quirk's appearance could speak for itself, right? She couldn't dare to talk too much, no, not at this time. And thus, still having her gaze lowered down to the ground, she closed her eyes. The muscles of her back are squeezed and a bizarre, almost inaudible noise of sorts is produced from such action. In an abrupt moment, a lengthy set of white, gooey tendrils shoot out from her back, four in total, as they sway around behind her, wilfully manipulated by the blue-eyed teen.
"This is my quirk." She softly announces, looking back up at her two partners, yet still not offering them much eye-contact other than that initial one. A relay kind of system did sound like a good idea, or at least she thought. Hanami truly wanted to offer herself to be the one standing atop the wall, wanting to avoid too much action as much as possible, but then she reminded herself that she would never be brave enough to raise her tone further more than she already did so far.
The girl shook her head once asked if she had any other ideas. She couldn't think of anything else other than straight up direct confrontation. At least not until she could properly study the field, but then again, knowing from experience, she wouldn't be able to come up with anything better. Now, what would their other teammate say?

She had been looking forward to this lesson ever since it had been first announced. Not even Geist's drill sergeant opening speech could dampen her mood. In fact it hyped her up even more. More than getting a chance to break out her quirk, this would be the first time she would get a chance to work together with her classmates. This would be important because teamwork and learning how their talents and abilities mesh with each other was crucial to success not just in classes but in the real world too. So it was paramount that they got this right, win or lose. Still Karen being Karen, she was aiming for nothing less than victory. Listening to what they had to do today, she already had a pretty good feeling about their chances. Her two teammates for the day were Isaac and Hanami, both from the same class as her so in terms of name and face she would already be quite familiar with them. In terms of quirks and other abilities however, this short huddle was all they had to get ready with. Isaac was quick to draft up a plan that she mostly agreed with, at least in the beginning. The key here would be speed, but she felt trying to scale the walls would be much too time consuming and could cost them versus the benefit of having a high vantage point. There could be other more efficient uses of Isaac's quirk. Hanami was a little less spirited. Despite giving a visual demonstration of her own quirk, she didn't elaborate with further explanation. Like for instance could she actually reach out and grab things with them or did they have some other function? There wasn't much to go off on besides her having tendrils. Still the fact that the girl was present in today's lesson meant that she had some fight in her, no matter how small. And hopefully they could make use of that in today's exercise. Like the rest of them Karen was also wearing her UA tracksuit, but admittedly not for long. Once they had gathered up together, she started to take off her top and pants to reveal her custom outfit underneath. If she wanted to make the most of her quirk today, then there was no question that she needed to wear her costume, especially since from how things we looking so far, she would be the key player here. "I've already introduced myself in class before, but if you didn't catch my name, it's Karen. Karen Hoshizora. It's great to be working with you two today, Isaac-kun and Hanami-kun!~"As she did her warm-up stretches in preparation she offered her own thoughts on their strategy for this exercise. "I definitely agree with all of us making our way to the goal at once. Whoever gains control of the flag first has the clear advantage. I believe trying to climb the walls would be too slow. I'm sure we're all reasonably fit here and simply maneuvering around the walls should save more time."Once Karen was done with her stretches, she focused for a moment and released her aura which let her hover a couple of inches above the ground. "My quirk is flight and I honestly think it's almost unfair in this situation. But if Geist-sensei chose to split teams this way, then I can only assume someone on the other team has a similar mobility quirk. Looking at our team composition, I believe I can carry Hanami-kun with me to at least bypass the grass and pools. You will have to follow behind us Isaac-kun. If all goes well, we should reach the flag area first. I'm hoping Hanami-kun can extend and grab the flag with her quirk to give us another edge."
"Depending on the situation I might need to retreat with the flag without Hanami-kun so I'm hoping you can catch up with us soon Isaac-kun to back her up."She wondered if she was being too forward with this. It's not as though she wanted to hog the spotlight or abandon teammates, but since it seemed she was the fastest and most mobile among them, it made the most sense that she took charge of returning with the flag itself. If she was right in her guess that the other team had similarly fast people then things might get trickier. She definitely wanted to avoid leaving behind Hanami if she could help it, but that would depend on the circumstances. "Oh and you might be wondering why I don't just fly over the walls. Well, honestly speaking they're rather high even if I wasn't carrying Hanami-kun. It's not impossible, but stamina and effort-wise, it's much better to just go around them."Hopefully they were willing to cooperate with her proposal. Tying the red headband around her head, she waited for any further comments and then turned her attention to the announcement speakers anticipating the signal to begin.

Post by Kazu Fureu on May 3, 2019 10:31:17 GMT -4
The young chronicler took little surprise to the fact that one of his fellow teammates have decided to stay back and defend the map. After all, it is the most logical and sound reasoning in this situation. You see, while most people would try to gang up on all at once in the heat of the moment, one must realize that in itself is truly, truly, truly foolish and stupid. Like come on, unless you have some sort of flight power, then rushing all in is utterly idiotic. No, the proper and smart decision is split ourselves into two, and have one scout out ahead, one remain within the middle area, and the last to stay within the small area of where the flag is. It is reasonable and sound, just how he likes it.
Of course, the bigger challenge here is what exactly, you know, are my fellow teammate's powers. Shouko with the way she's acting might be a "close up, in your face" style, so she's perfect to remain upfront. She would try to, at the very least, survey the area in front of them and take on any big heavy hitters from the opposing way. She gives off confidence, so she super won't try to use the walls as some sort of defense or hiding place, no no no, that isn't the proper way. Hikaru on the other hand....hmm....He is...well he certainly is...well from the last he has heard of him from the UAchat..he's a bit colorful at least? Also, kind of a jerk? He's weird, that's for sure. Still, perhaps he can pull his weight around. he'll probably walk around the "base" and occupy himself within the grassy field, since if you lay down on it you can reasonably pull off some sort of 'disguise." Meanwhile, I have to keep focus on both ends of this little 'conversation.' I can shoot out Metal, but that won't really work unless I have a steady aim and also if they're near my range. Interesting, dear teacher, interesting for putting us in this grand situation. Kaz nods his head in agreement with his plan, clearly not knowing that for all the times he tends to plan out ahead it never goes the way he wants. Never.
Once Karen discusses his suggestion, Kaz nods in agreement. "Glad to see another person making sense, truly we are on the road to victory! Well now, we shall go he- hey where are you going?" Shouko runs off from the small 'base'. Kaz blinks in confusion, then looks back at an uncaring Hikaru, then after a moment of deliberation, followed Shouko. She appeared to be shouting from the top of her lungs to the other end of the field, hoping that the other team would at the very least notice. "Well, I enjoy this kind of excitement as much as the other guy, but we still need to plan out on how to do th....tha....um. Huh."
As if a switch was turned on, the excited Shouko threw her dress in a harsh manner, just as harsh as the literal rock dress that has formed around her body. Odd looking claws have replaced her hands, and her cheerful demeanor became dull. Kaz looks a bit confused, but then shrugged it off. "Well, I see you have the grace of ore. That is excellent, we can use as a ramming shield against the others, just in case desperate times call for it. Odd that you didn't bother to show it off in front of our other teammate...but then again he can handle that little thing on his own, right?" Kaz tries to laugh. "A-anyway. No use trying to split up, so you pick one direction, and I shall follow suit. My Metal shall aid you whenever you need it."

The golden child scratched his chin more than a little bored, what should he do as he waits for this whole game to play out? He could play on his phone, that might supply some decent entertainment as he endured this drudgery although with a teacher present he wasn't sure if that was particularly allowed but perhaps he could try and sneak it or offer some compensation to allow it, nah that'd take too long to explain.
His mind began to drift in and out of multiple different things he could do to alleviate his impending boredom, maybe he could check his newest tamagotchi pet, the last few had died of starvation but his father made him swear to feed this one at least once a we- Oh one of his teammates was talking now, the brown medieval one who had a strange pre-lesson ritual of stretching and dancing, his eyes would center on her while she spoke glowing with a reddish hue.
"Blah blah blah im very loud blah blah blah." Was all he got from her first exclamation, as he opened his mouth to speak and give make a snide comment she started going off again accidentally cutting him off. "Blah blah blah blah blah unless you have a ranged quirk blah blah blah blah" He rolled his eyes, he was amazed they hadn't already left by now but he decided he'd give an answer so he could assure them he'd defend this stupid bucket "Well my quirk is rather versatile but yes it is r-" Suddenly she ran off and began to exclaim to the opposing team before he was even able to finish. That was... Rude... "Blah blah im nice and like to greet people blah blah Sou blah blah hero names." "Why are you... So loud..."
He was starting to think she was American from just the sheer volume of her voice, he could hear it past the wall like a deathly echo. Hikaru closed his eyes and scrunched up his face and covered each ear with an index finger; He was learning to despise this team more by the second. Her tone was nearly deafening to him and was equal parts irritating and annoying, how could someone survive all their life with such a haggish screech of a voice. When he opened his eyes again he noticed that his other teammate had ran off... 'Finally' He thought. Now he could finally feed his tamagotchi pet, as he slid his hand into his pocket to check on it he noticed a... Cross... And a strange sperm-like creature above... "Not again..." His hand shook with rage as he let out an audible sigh and put it back in his pocket standing by the bucket patiently.
Now what else could he do...

A deafening lack of response fell upon the stone-clad girl’s ears as her shout echoed through the course. Well, it was a large field- Perhaps they just hadn’t heard her! Taking a deep breath, Shouko prepared to try again, louder this time. However, fortunately for her teammates ears, before she could unleash her bellow, her oddly dressed teammate walked up to interrupt.
“Hm?”
The girl would visibly deflate. That’s right! The training exercise! There was no time to make friends with the competition! But which way to choose? With a dramatic gesture, Shouko would raise her right arm to point towards the right, lingering there just long enough to give the impression that she would go that way.
“Eenie, meenie, minie, mo…”
Her arm now pointing to the left passage, the girl would cheerfully exclaim, “Alright! Left it is! Meet you on the other side, uh… Whatever your name is!”
What? It wasn’t her fault that neither of her teammates had the basic courtesy to give their names!
Having wasted enough time already, Shouko would waste no more in springing to action- Rushing from her team’s base, and darting toward the side she had claimed. The tall grass parted around her battle dress- For which she was thankful! She could only imagine how much that would scratch her bare legs underneath it!
Of course, reaching the other side, it would become obvious that she had only had the illusion of choice to begin with. Tall walls split the arena, forcing both the right and left paths to converge at the center. With a mental shrug, the girl shifts her weight to the right, veering towards the opening. Surprisingly, despite the heavy curtains of rock which she bore, the girl showed no signs of particularly being slowed down by the weight.
Between her and the middle of the field rises a fence between twopools of water. Briefly, she considers the merits of simply smashing through the wooden barricade- Geist-sensei would not have made it differently from the walls if it wasn’t important, right? It seemed likely to be smashable.
In the end, however, she declined, and continued on her trajectory to the right. “Swap!” She would shout at Kaz, who presumably had kept up with her, before swinging around the pond on the right, and being granted line of sight of the target. Instantly, she would swing her laden arms to the left, their weight shifting her momentum towards the flag. And, hopefully, not towards the ponds which surrounded it.
As for how she would pick it up with her hands encased in crude rock? She’d worry about that when it came to it. Shouko’s Stats: Quirk: Stone Skin (Strength + Durability), E-rank Abilities: Battle Maniac (Martial Arts), F-rank Rock and Roll (Agility), F-rank Scatter Shard (Range), F-rank

"Nice to meet you both again!" Seeing how shy and nervous Hanami was Isaac decided it was best not to turn on his flirtatious charm in the off chance that it might fluster the girl more or make her feel bad if he did so with Karen. Looking from one girl to the other, it was like black and white. One was an energetic girl ready and rearing to go with the other was hesitant and a little shy. Karen was even wearing a more daring outfit or rather her hero costume while Hanami, much like himself opted to wear the school tracksuit. Admittedly he was a little relieved to see someone else deciding to wear the tracksuit. Similar to Karen's costume, Isaac left very little to the imagination. But that wasn't the reason why he disliked wearing it. Regardless he was wearing his tracksuit with pride! Looking at his tow partners he counted himself lucky to be paired with these two. Even faced with the option of flirting with extremely cute girls Isaac managed to restrain himself somehow. This would usually be a difficult task for the boy to do but with the pressure and excitement from their very first practical class it was an easy feat! [break][break] Speaking of feats the two girls explained the quirks very quickly. Hanami had her tentacles but didn't go into any details about them leading Isaac to believe that they had no other relevant ability to them. Still they would be useful to attack or even grabbing the flag early on. Karen on the other hand had a far more valuable quirk in this situation, flight. Any mobility quirk in general was powerful but in this case if she was really skilled in it they could win easily! But that wouldn't be any fun and the whole point of the lesson was to try and work as a team. It was clear that Karen thought of this since she offered to take Hanami with her and mentioned that it would be hard to fly over the walls. Isaac smirked as Karen spoke. From the sounds of things they were on the same brainwave. She even agreed with most of his plan aside from them trying to scale the walls. "You have a point there Karen-Chan. But leave the walls and fence to me, my quirk will make it easier to scale. You and Hanami-Chan can focus on the flag. I'll be the scout. Climb up on the wall and let you know their locations while trailing behind." He said as more red tattoo's appeared over his exposed arms and hands. Since he had a very crude outline of the map on his arms before he didn't want to prepare himself too quickly. At least now everyone should have a good idea of what lay ahead of them. "Speaking of quirks. Since you have a better range than us, you'll need to be on the offensive Hanami-Chan. If it comes to that anyway. Oh yeah! You can probably grab the flag too if you're confident in keeping hold onto it with your tentacles." Giving both a thumbs up he prepared himself for the signal. He rolled up his sleeves up to his shoulders and his trousers up to as far as he could, which was midway around his thighs. "If either of you get the flag but feel like you're going to lose it, throw it as far back as you can. I'll probably be trailing behind a good bit so chances are I'll be closest to it. Which reminds me. If you do get the flag I would recommend retreating asap and I can help defend against the other team if they come running looking for it." He said with an air of excitement in his voice. "Oh and good luck you too!" With a big smile Isaac was bouncing on the balls of his feet, unable to hold his excitement any longer. [break][break] Waiting for the signal felt odd. It took it's time but when it came Isaac was almost unprepared. Almost. The second the signal came Isaac tore off out of the base. While the other two would make their way around the wall Isaac would begin to scale it. Karen had the major speed advantage so Isaac knew he had to push himself to get up to the wall. Using his quirk he did his best to get a better grip when climbing the wall. He tried sticking himself to it when he could not find any decent groove to hang onto but he only did this a few times and very quickly since he wasn't sure if his quirk could totally support his full weight yet. Still even without needing to fully rely on his quirk, Isaac was able to scale the wall relatively easily. Once he reached the top he looked out over the field as far as he could to see where the other team were. Provided on where Hikaru wasn't going out of his way to hide himself Isaac would more than likely see his figure remaining in their own team's base while Shouko and Kaz were on the run. "One is staying in the base while the other two are running for the flag! I'll be the backup, call if you need me!" Isaac would shout to his teammates as he fell down along the wall. He did this facing the wall and using his quirk he made a steak of glue running from the top of the wall down to the bottom with one hand and with the other hand he would make some large blotches stick into the wall. He did this to make an easy way to scale the wall next time if they got the flag. While the steak of glue from his other hand was mainly to slow himself down so he could plant the blotches of glue into the wall properly. As he did this Isaac was confident that the other two were making goo progress into getting the flag. With speed and range on their side it would be hard for the other team to counter! Or so he wanted to think. Nevertheless he would continue running until he got to the area with the fence and two pools of water. Now what he said would come into play. As he went to run in the direction of the right pool of water he would listen out and keep his eyes open to see if the girls needed any help or if they indeed needed to relay off the flag to him. Either way Isaac used the excitement and adrenaline bubbling in his stomach to fuel his movements and his thoughts. There was no time for delay!

The blue-eyed teen is still silent for the most part. She allows the more talkative people in her group to talk, in this case being Karen, followed by Isaac, who gave away a few suggestions of his own regarding their strategy towards success. In a way, Hanami didn't actually mind losing as long as she could take out something out of this whole exercise. But at the same time, winning would also make her immensely satisfied, especially if she does end up having a great influence in such feat. [break][break] Nonetheless, the one who came up with the general idea for their plan to victory was Karen, the class president of 1-A. Actually, the trio was formed of students from that same class. It's not like it mattered much considering they haven't had many classes together and hadn't got to know each other that well. Though, this was always a good chance to build up any sort of mutual friendship, to find good chemistry between each other. Hanami truthfully felt better that she was actually going to work with more familiar faces rather than completely strange ones. If she was already a bit nervous and anxious, then one could only imagine how she'd be if she was to team up with other classes. [break][break] A nod was offered to both her teammates following each of their introductions, specifically after Karen's. No words are muttered yet and that kind of silence from Hanami remains especially once the strategy is set in stone. It sounded efficient, she had to admit. The girl just didn't feel too comfortable with having such an important role. What would happen if she hesitated? What would happen if she somehow failed to get a hold of the flag? The fear of failing was already starting to creep in and it didn't at all make the teen feel any better about the already nerve-wracking combat lesson. She grasped the bottoms of the tracksuit she wore, almost too frightened to offer back any sort of constant eye-contact. Many thoughts crossed her mind, most of those made in an attempt to calm herself down. 'You only have one task... Only one...' She bit her lower lip as she thought such, eventually returning to look back at her two teammates and tightly grasping the red headband in one of her free hands. Like them, she proceeded to wrap her own around her right thigh, where she personally thought was a good place. [break][break] "Haaaaaa--... Fuuu..." She inhaled deeply and then exhaled a calm and soft breath of air, hands clenching into fists as they are kept near her legs. Then, she stares specifically at Karen, nodding and announcing her readiness. "Whenever you want..." She mumbles quietly.

Between the two of her teammates Isaac seemed to be the more eager one. He also appeared to have a pretty good idea of the kind of contributions he wanted to make to the group in light of hearing Karen's suggestion on how they would attack. In that case Karen wouldn't comment on the point further. It was also important that they trusted each other here after all and she didn't think there was anything inherently bad about Isaac's thoughts. "I'll leave that to you then Isaac-kun~"As for Hanami, it wasn't too hard to sense her nervousness. In a way she was actually the most normal among them. And that was fine too. Karen could tell it was probably a bit much for her to assign the girl such an important role out of the blue and that added more pressure but Karen felt that this would be a good experience for her. As confident as Karen was, this was still their first team exercise together and no one was expecting things to go off perfectly. But if they could leverage their talents and advantages from the start then Karen felt that she would have no regrets regarding the result. They did their best and that was what mattered most. "Glad to be working with you Hanami-kun. I think grabbing on to each other would be the most secure way of doing this."She would fly up just above Hanami, waiting for the girl to raised her hands up and then grabbing her by her wrists so that she could grip Karen's in the same way. Of course this meant both their hands would be occupied, but she trusted Hanami's tendrils to do the grabbing that they needed. Once they were properly holding on to each other, Karen would lift up her lighter classmate just a few feet above the ground. It was just high enough so that they could soar over the tall grass and be unimpeded by it. As she had said, they weren't going to try flying over the walls at all. Plus she hoped that not going too high would help make Hanami less nervous. On the signal to begin Karen would waste no time zooming out of the starting area at the speed of an Olympic sprinter, flying over the grass with ease as planned. She would take the route to the right but recalling the map in her head it really didn't matter much at this point. All this converged into a single opening anyway leading to the center of the field. There was more grass here again but once more they simply zipped over it. Karen was actually enjoying the rush. "Still alright Hanami-kun? Let me know if you need me to slow down a bit. We're almost there though."Seeing the fence up ahead, Karen would swerve to the right side once more as the left side had the crates and barrels. This was the part where there would be pools of water that would have otherwise made them need to take a longer route around or swim through it. But for Karen and her passenger, they simply flew over the obstacle. It was a clear straight shot to the flag from that point. From behind them she heard Isaac call out and detail the other team's formation. Two were on the way while one was staying at the base? That was a strange choice to make in her opinion. Were they that confident that they could secure the flag and so were prepping to defend it? Not on her watch. The flag was in sight and it seemed as though her initial fears were mistaken. It didn't look like there was anyone on the other team who could fly or move as fast as she could but now wasn't the time to be complacent. They still had to grab the flag after all even if they were ahead, again leveraging every advantage they could. "I forgot to ask about your range Hanami-kun but I'll fly us as close as necessary. Grab it as soon as you are able to while the other team isn't here yet. Who knows where they might come at us from."Karen would slow down ever so slightly as they approached to allow Hanami a more stable condition to make her grab. As for the other team, she finally caught sight of them approaching from opposite sides of the fence on their side of the field. Was either of them capable from attack from afar? She readied herself to make evasive maneuvers in that case. As soon as Hanami got a hold of the flag however she would retreat immediately. If they could avoid engaging directly that would be best as both their hands were full at the moment.

Gaaaasp....Gaaaassp....Why did he wear this long coat again at this time of day?! Like seriously, why did he asked for this material to be used again, other than his durability and such? Kaz pants after running a bit, trying to catch up with Shouko from behind. This girl is quite quick on her feet, even if she has a large quantity of stone on her self at the moment. Well it makes sense, in a way. If one were to live their entire lives with stone on their bodies, they would have trained themselves to run at this speed without getting too tired. He, on the other hand, isn't quite as built in this field as she is. In fact, if this were any other moment in time he would have dropped to the ground and call it a day. But not today, today was the day to prove to the campus that he has an important role to play in this. And he won't let something like..stamina problems or...sleepiness get the best of him today.
As the two traversed on the left side, Kaz took some time to notice his surroundings while his partner did the same. Some grass, a wall, and a pool of water. Perhaps if he laid among the grass he can hide himself and attack oncoming people who dare try to come near him, then he'll knock out everyone and leave the flag open for him...and perhaps he can take a nice nap on the nice waist high grass....no focus, Kaz. He then thinks about the pools of water. He is known (not really) to be a good swimmer, so maybe....Hmm no. Kaz looks down at his clothes. This set is too perfect to ruin, as well as his precious mask. Wonder what Shouko would do-what is she doing?
Shouko yelled out something to him as she beelines to the flag, running near the water. Kaz stops as he bends forward, trying to grab his breath. Well, since they got here first, it is a smart move to protect the flag and then snatch it under their opponent's noses, although with how gung ho Shouko's being, there might be a slight change of plans incoming. Kaz swipes the sweat off his brow after removing his mask, places it back on, and readies his hands. If someone were to come, they would come guns ablazing. They were the first to come, therefore the biggest danger is a pursuing hunter. Kaz stands there readying his Metal, and glances around. There doesn't seem to be anyone from the other side, at least from his range of view. The only thing that's weird is a weird red person shaped thing with a person hanging off of it that’s coming closer and arriving near the flag around the same time as them but that's not really important....wait.
Hmm...Hopefully nothing bad happens once Shouko grabs the flag. She seems pretty confident and he has no doubt not to trust her...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut juuuuust in caaaaaseeee, might as well do this. Metal leaks from his hand and amasses itself to a blob. Forming it into a normal looking bat, Kaz readies himself for the red aura who comes blazing in for the flag.

“Oh no!” Shouko would cry, seeing the incoming opposing team. How could they possibly have arrived first!? It couldn’t possibly be be the way she played Eenie Meenie Minie Moe to decide which way to take, or the pointless crossover she made, or… Okay, so maybe it wasn’t a surprise at all. But now was not the time to assign blame! It was time, for a broad grin to spread across Shouko’s face. It was time, to take a quick glance towards the audience to make sure Seiko was getting this. It was time, to “SHOW ME WHAT YOU’VE GOT”
Shouko would shout this towards the pair approaching the flag from above. Flying, a most frustrating ability to deal with for a landlubber such as Shouko… Images flashed through her brain of the fruitless struggle which Tsuji Kuma had gone through in an attempt to reach a similarly airborne opponent- Although, Angel had flown much higher than this duo was. Was this the limit of their height, was carrying a person weighing the flier down, or did they simply want to stay as close to the level of the flag as possible? Nonetheless, it was wise to expect the worst. But despite being a melee fighter in the worst possible matchup, Shouko was grinning. Had she not already expected this? Not asked herself how she would fight someone she could not reach? And what was the answer she had come up with?
As she stepped forward, her encased arms would swing forward until they met, her stone clubs shattering from the heavy impact. However, they did not just crumble, as one might expect- The way Shouko had broken them, she was quite proud of. The shrapnel would scatter, not in every direction, but almost every shard flying forward towards the two reaching for the flag… And especially, towards any tentacles reaching out to grab it. With any luck, it would be enough of a distraction to cover the gap of distance between the two parties. And shattering her clubs had done more than launch an attack- It had solved the question of how to hold the flag with no opposable thumbs!
With a desperate roll, one which would seem surreal in Shouko’s stiff stone dress, she crossed the center line. Her goal was obvious- The flag that would still be there, unless the closer team had reached it first. However, with any luck, her blow from afar would have deterred them from their prize- After all, if the flag fell into the hands of a flier, it would prove nigh impossible to recover! But more importantly, if that happened, they would be fighting defensively to protect it! That wasn’t what Shouko wanted to see! She wanted to see everyone’s full power! And if she wanted to do that, she couldn’t simply allow them to walk away with the flag. And so, she would fight with all she had to prevent that!
”Don’t think it will be that easy!”
