Kaito was pissed. Slow boy was showing off and acting all smart like he was some sort of toxic messiah. It irked him to no end. He couldn't even take a hint. He was being all nice and acting like Kaito was being nice back. Slow boy was either stupid or just liked pissing Kaito off. He huffed angrily as he pulled himself back up to the next rooftop.
On top of this, he seemed pretty much useless in this test so far. That made him even more furious. Not only was Slow Boy shining, but he also made Kaito look even worse. 'Well screw that.' He thought to himself. 'We need eyes on B. The other team is probably busy securing their easy objective right now. That would make it easier to get into B and get a nice stealthy advantage.'
"Hey, smart ass!" He called out to Haruto with a scowl on his face. "I'm going to B. I'm the fastest, plus I can hide fairly well. I'll get eyes on the objective and see what's going on." He didn't plan on giving him a chance to argue either. He wasn't an idiot. He had no plans of ambushing the enemy alone or fighting the whole team himself. Kaito knew his limitations.
"Once you can drag your slow self out of this cesspit meet up with me there." Kaito turned and started into a sprint, leaping off the building at the end of his run. As he fell he stretched out his legs and used them as shock absorbers as he hit the ground. Rolling into the drop he picked himself back up and took off as fast as he could, heading to the B objective as quickly as he could.

Post by Momonji Yamada on Apr 21, 2019 16:11:40 GMT -4
As Momonji zipped up onto the rooftop, he found himself growing a bit more at ease with the overall situation. There was something about cutting loose like this and moving through the air that put him at ease. The boy had always been most comfortable jumping from tree to tree back home at the orchard, and his quirk-ports had been growing sore with lack of use. The brief sensation of weightlessness that accompanied the peak of his accent filled him with a nostalgic sensation. Turning back around to face the others, he couldn't help but grin as an opportunity to share this feeling presented itself.
From behind each calf, a similar cable anchored itself in the roof behind him, making sure he was snuggly secured to the surface he was standing on. Next he extended both hands out to the girls below, providing them both with a means of accent as the grappling cables fired out to sink into the ground in front of them. "Time is of the essence, so I'm going to do you both at once. If you have a sleeve or some cloth to wrap around the cable it might make gripping the cable easier, but try to hold on tight." He called out to the two below before awaiting the tugging sensation that confirmed they were ready.
With a rocking of his shoulders he triggered the powerful winches in his arms, an audible revving noise coming from his elbows as he would rapidly accelerate them upwards toward him. This was not his first time serving as a human-elevator, as he would often give his sisters rides back home, but this was much further than he normally tossed people around. "Whoa... I gotcha both..." He assured them as he tried to catch each of them and secure their footing. Rocking his hips slightly, he popped the anchors free of the roof and rolled his shoulders for a moment. "Ok... now that we're up here, what's the plan? If there's a rooftop entrance we could use... or maybe a skylight?" Momonji let them take the lead in the search, needing a moment to rest his motors after the rapid climb. After letting his arms cool down for a moment, he joined the duo in whatever direction the team was heading. "Hope the others are alright..."

Post by Kang Hye-Rin on Apr 29, 2019 4:06:05 GMT -4
Hye-Rin jumped slightly as the hook landed just in front of her feet, looking between the boy and the boy's handy Quirk,"Wah... so cool!" Just as excitedly as ever, the Korean nodded when she was told to hold on as best as she could. Her fingers would be extended out, palm up, as buds of wildflowers sprung out of the skin like a flower bed in April. It covered the backside of her hand in a thick coating of multi-colored clusters of petals. Though it wasn't the sleeve or cloth like Momonji had recommended, her Quirk would come in handily just this once to act as a bit of grip on the cable.
Gripping onto the cable with both hands and tugging lightly, the Korean called up to the black-haired boy atop the roof,"Ready when you are, Momo-chaaaan~!" Her voice was much more cheerful than it should have been going into a Sports Festival event, and the beaming smile gave her emotions away. Sure, the whole thing was nerve-wracking, but it was also exciting! However, as Momonji brought his cable back much faster than she anticipated and she scrambled mid-air as she was shot upward towards her teammate. Jarring was one word for it, and it plunged her stomach into a void as she inhaled sharply and held it.
It wasn't until Hye-Rin fell into the teenager's arms that she let out a relieved sigh. Though it was the first time she'd been so close to a stranger, the sunlight that shone through the Korean always made it feel natural. She'd lived by the thought that strangers were simply friends she hadn't met yet, so it was easy to smile up at Momonji regardless of the little distance between them,"Momo-chan, you smell like peaches! I think it's nice!" It was a small detail, though it was the smallest things that seemed so grand to the bubbly girl. The arms that were coiled around him to balance herself were brought back to her side and she stepped back, looking around at the chaos around them. The building they stood upon was in rough shape, and Hye-Rin felt a pang of sadness for the poor thing before the peach boy spoke up about a plan,"I think the safest option would be to find a rooftop entrance. Emi-chan might need some help in there...!" The last thing Hye-Rin wanted to do was leave her idol alone to face whatever challenge by her lonesome, but she wouldn't be able to do much in that building.
If there was a rooftop entrance into the building, Hye-Rin would make sure to wary tread through it. Though she could swim, the last thing she wanted to do was get sucked into a helpless position where the heroic course students would need to save her from. Locating the dummy was the first priority, but the Korean would do so on her own terms- helping her own teammates along the way.

Shiko would flinch a little bit as the lodged itself in the ground just a few too many centimeters closer than she thought it should have been, but she was quick to regain herself, and would grab on to the cable, unfolding her hands so that she could grip a larger area. She would then close her eyes, waiting for the sudden jerk.
As her body was suddenly pulled, the girl could vaguely remember a time when she was younger. It was like a roller coaster ride! The exhilaration of acceleration! She felt parts of her skin begin to tear on her hands, painful, but would hopefully not prove to be much of a hindrance. She would open her eyes in those last few seconds to realize how rapidly she was approaching the building proper. She took one hand off of the cable and braced herself for impact! Chances were she would make it up there before the Korean girl, she was made of paper after all, though a 25-kilo weight was still nothing to scoff at.
Her braced hand would first grab hold of Momoji's torso, and soon after her other hand would go to his upper back as she tried her best to balance herself. After her momentum had settled she backed off from the boy and immediately put her hands to her side. "Uhhhmm. Sorry." She would say, slightly embarassed. Had she the blood to do so, she would have blushed. "Sorry."
She would look around at the flat plane before her in haste, for there were tides to worry about. If she got caught in the middle of one of those she would be out of it for the rest of the day at least. Assuming that the building had a roof entrance, she would tap Momoji on the shoulder and point, hopefully grabbing the attention of the overenthusiastic Kang. Unless Kang had already done so, Shiko would try the door to test for a lock, and if there was one, she would nod to Momoji. "Break it."
Hopefully, there wouldn't be too much standing water up her on the upper floor, well, at least little enough that she could still tread through it wearing her shoes; otherwise, she would have to take off her shoes and unfold her limbs to hold herself over and crawl about like some kind of weird insect. With that in mind, she would begin to look for any dummies that might have been placed up here in higher ground.

Post by Emi Ryoko Tachibana on Apr 29, 2019 11:50:30 GMT -4
Cold. Cold and a little too dark for her liking. Not enough oxygen, either. Oh, and she was alone in a heavily damaged building, searching for dolls against the clock. So there were a few minor obstacles keeping her from showing off – or rather, enough circumstances for her to look great. There was no need for her to let a little thing like being abandoned slow her down.
First things first: she needed to find her escape route, and fast. Fortunately for her, finding her way up was next to no issue. Following the hallway, logically, led her to a flight of stairs, and a second floor with more of the things humans needed to breath. While she spent a few precious seconds catching her breath, a quick look around confirmed that her teammates hadn’t arrived yet. Was the situation on the roof just as bad as hers? Worse?
She’d have to worry about that later. They could scream for her if they needed her, but in the meantime, she had a job to get back to. Another deep breath preceded her dive and dropped back to the ground floor… Somehow. While her ascent to the second floor had come with the typical trademarks of swimming – kicking legs and waving arms –, on the way down, she simple allowed herself to sink. A normal human shouldn’t have dropped so easily, but Emi had learned the hard way that her costume had a slight oversight. A pack of salt embedded into the torso may as well have been a sandbag while she was underwater. Fortunately, it was a sandbag that she could control; the force of her quirk could mostly counter the extra weight, at the cost of more energy than she’d have liked to use.
The first door she checked held nothing of use, but the next doorway held her first prize – a mannequin floating across the room. It wasn’t the way she’d want to meet most civilians, but neither of them were in a position to complain. Finally, she showed off her underwater advantage. Her quirk needed a source, something to pull salt out of, and then move it to whatever she needed to influence. An annoying limitation on most days, but a non-issue when she happened to be surrounded by seawater. She twisted her wrist to ‘capture’ the dummy, forming a band of solid salt around its wrist. Giving the mannequin’s new jewellery a mental command to move sent its wearer floating along for the ride too, and assuming there were no distractions, Emi escorted it up to the second floor, where she could stand without getting a face full of ocean.
She pulled the dummy up the last of the stairs with her hands and let it ‘rest’ against the wall in a seated position. She was no expert with first aid, but lying down would mean resting it in a bed of slowly rising water… Was sitting it up much better, though? She put on her frown, lifted her head, and yelled for her group. “Found a civilian, brought him upstairs, near the stairs! He needs a look over, or to be extracted!” Hopefully, somebody would listen that time (it hadn’t slipped her mind that she’s asked for a light a few moments before), but she didn’t have time to wait.
Another deep breath, and a deep dive. Without a dummy to tail her, she could focus her quirk on forcing her through the water. She barely stopped as she passed through the hallways, glancing through each door to get an idea of the situation. For her efforts, she found one more dummy, trapped under the rearranged contents of the room. Could she move it? Probably. Could she swim in, move it safely, grab the dummy and get both of them back to the second floor on one breath? Not alone. If only she had a team to call on!
Unsurprisingly, the Mutants heard from her again once she returned to the rescued dummy’s side. “Going to need a hand or two down here for some swimming and lifting! And somebody to check this floor for civs!”
To summarize: - Emi rescues the first dummy!
- She moves it to the second floor, calls for her teammates to check on and/or move it.
- A second dive to the ground floor reveals the second dummy.
- She decides not to rescue it, and instead returns to the upper level, calling for somebody to give her a hand.
