Well, this is going swell. Hye-Rin gracefully joined Jack as he strode towards one of the nearby buildings. Jack smiled warmly at her as she did so, grateful that he wasn’t in this alone after all. He briefly explained his plan to her as they walked, and she seemed to be on board the entire way. Jack nodded, his heart pounding in his chest. He didn’t know how experienced these guys were in comparison to their team, but Jack already knew for a fact that they had a T-Rex guy on their team, and knew fully well that he would likely have him as his primary opponent. Multiple scenarios were already playing inside Jack’s head, and while he couldn’t fully predict what the other monster would do, he had a couple of ideas, considering it was fairly limited compared to Jack. He waited for his chance to strike to come, and come it did. ”Alright, Hye, it’s go time! Get on!” he said to his companion, already in mid-transformation, though he did slow it down enough so that she would have enough time to hop on and hang on tight. As the Valiant’s fighting force strode by, Jack’s gigantic black and white dragon form, crackling with red lightning around him, burst out of the building, Hye on his back light a dragon knight in her own right. As expected, he was immediately met with an ear-piercing roar of a mighty T-Rex, and obviously saw one charging right towards him. The monster’s mouth was opened wide, and Jack immediately went into action. He put one clawed hand over Hye gently, so that she wouldn’t fall off, and, in a very non-dragon motion, rolled out of the way of the massive beast, hopefully letting him crash right into the wreckage in which Jack had appeared to begin with. If he were fast enough it would go off without too much issue, otherwise the monster would graze Jack’s leg a fair amount, though whether it could manage to fully clamp down on it remained to be seen. Whether his maneuver was successful or not, Jack would continue to go on the attack, raking his claws right onto the T-Rex’s face, followed up by a prominent punch in the same area. If none of this was successful, however, Jack would at least attempt to fly out of the way of the T-Rex’s rider’s tar blast, making sure that Hye was safely on his back in the process. Then, without many other options between 3 people attacking him, he would block the oncoming fire shots with his arm, feeling the burn rather quickly. It hurt like hell, but Jack didn’t let it show, instead roaring as loud as he could in challenge to the other massive beast. ”THREE ON ONE’S A LITTLE UNFAIR, DON’T YOU THINK? FIGHT ME ALONE, COWARD! IF YOU DARE, THAT IS!!” he bellowed towards the T-Rex, his voice showing none of the usual kindness that the boy usually had. He felt his instincts starting to take over slightly, filling him with the primal rage of the evolution of what he was currently fighting. He began to fly a bit away from the battle, clearly goading the T-Rex and his rider to follow, if they dared. If he could at least separate them from the others, it would be a much fairer fight. As he would attempt to get further away, he would glance over to Hye, who was hopefully still safe on his back. ”How’s it going, Hye? You alright? We might be in for a savage fight here in a second, so be careful,” he said to her, his voice much more akin to his usual, worrying tone that she would be more familiar with. As she would respond, he would touch down closer to where their team’s cage was. A plan was already beginning to formulate inside the dragon’s mind, working out various scenarios with the monstrous T-Rex and his tar-controlling rider. On one hand, he just needs to get them inside of the cage and close it, causing them to be out until another team member tagged them, though on the other hand he would need to figure out a safe way to escape, should his transformation begin to wane within the next few minutes, so that he could revert safely and have Hye heal his wounds before having to take on the beast again. This was definitely one way to start off his first official battle, that’s for sure. -Yay, Hye's along for the ride! -Ok, probably fighting a T-Rex. This'll be fun. -Charged out of the building with Hye on Jack's back -Attempted to dodge the T-Rex's charge, making sure Hye is safe in the process -Would then attempt to scratch and sock the Rex's face, otherwise would try to avoid the girl's tar attack -Tanked the fire attack, OUCH, IT BURNS -Would try and start to take off, roaring in challenge to the T-Rex -Goaded it into following him and started to head closer to their cage. -Checked up on Hye and let her know the fight ahead was going to get massive -Started trying to calculate plans, and hoped that this would actually work.

As soon as the pair emerged from the building, they'd immediately come face to face with a much more terrifying beast. Though it was a student from the opposing school, the Korean's couldn't help but jump at the shock. The ancient creature would let out a deafening screech, making it hard to hear much of anything. Pressing her hands against her ears to shield them, she couldn't help but stare in awe," W-Woah!" It would go unheard from such a ferocious roar, and the fight between Valiant and U.A. would start for Jack and Hye-Rin. A scaled and clawed hand would find it's way around the flowery girl, keeping her in place while he went through with his movements. She'd make sure to hold tightly to Jack, learning all sorts about the enemy team before the dragon flipped them over and back to the right side. It felt like a roller coaster- the part of it that looped in a circle and brought the Korean's stomach with it. When all was said and done, she'd straighten her back and stop clutching the dragon so closely, taking a deep breath before activating her Quirk in case Jack was injured. The wildflower buds that were dotted across her cheeks and neck would bloom, and the dragon might feel a wave of serenity along with the pain from his hopefully minor injuries fading," I'm alright, Jack-kun. Thank you for the concern." She'd smile, patting the nape of his scaled neck. The information she gathered was small, but substantial- one was a T-Rex, one could throw some sort black tar substance, and the last could throw fire. Hye-Rin didn't know the limits of each one of them, but she had that much in her mind," I'm not much in a fight when I'm on your back, so I'm hopping off, okay? Keep the dinosaur and it's rider off me." She'd say so in the small space in between them before sweeping one leg over Jack's back to slide off, landing on the ground underneath them. The cage was next to them, and all she had to do was bend their arms a bit to get the opponents into it. Tilting her head with her eyes locked on to the fire-wielder, she'd speak to her dragon friend with a voice unlike her own," I've got the lighter." Typically filled with life and a voice to match, Hye-Rin sounded much like the master of the dojo she spent hours in cramming for the event- distant and a smidgen sarcastic. " I'm gonna focus a bit, alright? If you need me, grab me. I tend to tune things out when I focus." She'd call to her teammate before taking a deep breath, spreading her legs apart as she lowered her body. Her arms would bend in front of her- one to guard her face and one to guard her torso. Her master always said it was like a horse stance from Wushu, but she never understood the reference. Capoeira was the first martial art she took on, and she put all of her energy into learning what she currently knew," Cadeira." She'd speak the stance aloud and under her breath, hopefully quiet enough so that Jack couldn't hear. It was a bit strange, but it helped her put names to the attacks and stances. Her memory, after all, wasn't great. The Korean had eyes for Gregory, the fire-wielder, and would prepare herself for whatever was thrown at her. She trusted that Jack would have her back when it came to such things, and the martial art she'd chosen to learn had many such benefits when it came to dodging. If either the rider or the lighter threw their Quirks at the flowery girl, she'd have no problem flowing through movements incredibly gracefully with either bends or flips to dodge. If and when Gregory was close enough to the fight, Hye-Rin would pounce on the opportunity. Capoeira focused on kicks, and it's what she would throw a reverse roundhouse kick, known otherwise as Armada, towards the lighter's face. Hopefully it was enough to do some damage and pull her own weight, the Korean thought. -Woah T-Rex -Rolled with jack, thought it was cool -used her quirk juuuust in case Jack was injured -hopped off cause she’s a sitting duck -told jack to keep the t-rex and tar lady off her while she goes for gregory -gets real serious-like, almost like the flip of a switch -will dodge shit if it is thrown like a boss cause capoeira is cool -if gregory is close enough, will send a reverse roundhouse kick to his face

these rapid eyes will keep on moving As Lani requested, she was being kept updated with what was going on and a number of things were happening just out of view and very quickly. First, there was the fact that the girl that Angel had in her sights was moving in to attack her. An aerial battle wasn't one of Lai's specialties, so there wasn't much support that Lani could give the girl, but that was okay. Ericka was there to give some ranged support and help her out. Then there was the loud roar that could be heard on the other side of the area. This one was different from the one that Jack made. It was considerable loud and more ear piercing. And while Lani had several buildings of protection between her and the source, that didn't stop her from hearing just how deafening that roar truly was. If it wasn't for the fact that she was so far away and had all these buildings between her and the source, she would have a short time where she couldn't hear at all. The final revelation came in the form of Ericka As Lani turned around to double back to Jacka nd Hye-Rin, Ericka came around the corner. Was she being chased? Would someone really chase her back so far that they went this deep behind enemy lines? If that was the case, that was some true confidence in their ability. Lani liked it. A smile popped up on her face as she rushed in to get close to Ericka to be informed on what was going on from her point of view. "What's the deal?" Whether Ericka informed her or not, Lani could only assume that something was coming if the girl didn't go directly over to help Jack and Hye-Rin.
Ericka wasn't the type of person to just abandon others without a plan in motion. She wasn't called the mother of class 1-B for no reason at all. So, in preparation for what came next, Lani had to decide on how she was going to use her quirk. The most obvious thing was to use her red color. So she slid a finger down the green stripe at the center of her top and moved it across where the blade of her sword could be. And as if it was forming into existence, the blade was revealed with a green light. Truth be told it didn't change about the functionality of the weapon. But the green light wasn't solid. Just like when the blade wasn't there, she wasn't going to be cutting any solids or anything. But that wasn't her goal. She still had to get Ericka and herself over to where Jack was. So the plan was simple, a smokescreen! A cloud of dust that would create some distance between herself and whatever was coming for Ericka would be helpful. And then they both could move on. She nodded her head in the direction of the base so that Ericka got an idea of what her plan was.
An engagement wasn't their direct goal here. It was important to keep in mind that this was a capture mission, not one where they needed to knock out the other side. With that in mind, Lani touched the tip of her gaseous blade on the ground. She waited for whatever was going to pop out the other side if it did and cut in an angled upward motion toward the corner. Lani's quirk allowed her to change the state of matter based on the colors she had available. And her familiarity with her sword allowed her to extend that effect to what the sword touched. Things changed would interact with the state they were changed into as if they were still in their original state. So the cut she made in the ground turned that pavement into a gas. A dust of pavement. Lani didn't change the temperature of things, so burning others wasn't an issue, but what it was going to d was obscure the vision of anyone coming around that corner. The dust would interact with other solids the same as any dust would. But, what Lani hoped out of all this was to give herself and Ericka enough time to rush passed whoever was there and make their way to Jack and Hye-Rin. 721 | @tagged | notes ulla

“Special delivery? It’s a bad habit to count your chickens before they’re hatched, miss wings.” Indeed, after that tentative grab got blocked, Julia immediately sprang her arm back to herself, narrowly avoiding Angel’s grab attempt. Julia had total control over the spring in her limbs; like a muscle, she could contract and extend them at will, with her own strength. Angel nonetheless gave chase, perhaps looking to exploit what seemed to be a temporary position of weakness from the British girl. A smile adorned her dark lips as she saw her opponent load us for a dropkick. She did right to leave her other arm holding the pipe; she could spring back towards the pipe in that position, but if she did it too early, then Angel would notice and she’d lose the initiative. No, this situation called for a sneakier plan. The released her grab on the pipe and but the same token released the tension in her outstretched arm, which sprang back at speed towards the ground, towards the armored Sir Valiant. “Arthur!” she called out to her classmate. He didn’t even need to look; he knew what she wanted to do. They had practiced that move before. Without stopping his charge, he grabbed and yanked Julia’s arm as soon as she pulled it back, she contracted, and in seemingly an instant, just as Angel dived down, Julia disappeared from where she was and instead was now pulled towards Arthur’s back. With a twist of the hips she repositioned herself so that her legs landed on his back, and from that position launched herself at Angel again, twisting once more for a nasty, whip-like roundhouse kick with her outstretched leg. It would have been a perfect plan if not for Ericka. The clever sharpshooter made it clear at once that her skills and her quirk were not to be underestimated. The first two shots she fired froze in mid-air. Were they gonna go again? That was a variable Arthur couldn’t ignore, but based on the trajectory of her previous shots, it was likely she could angle them however she wanted, so he decided to keep charging straight; he was no stranger to taking a few hits to get close, after all. So when Ericka fired two more bullets, it was only natural for him to try and them on his shoulder plate, right after he had pulled Julia back to the ground and she sprang from his back. But the blonde trickshot master had another ace up her sleeve. The two shots were indeed deflected by the plate… However, with her mastery over her own bullets, Ericka was actually redirecting them right where she wanted them. The movement of her roundhouse helped the first bullet ricochet off her hip bone, but the second hit her square in the shoulder plate with searing pain. She did not interrupt her kick, however; she would not give up the advantage that gave her such a good shot on Angel after her dropkick so easily. After that, Ericka retreated behind the corner, but it did not deter Arthur’s charge. The idea that Julia got hurt by his fault where he should have tanked for his teammate started to worm itself into his mind, but he decided to pay it no mind. Sure enough, right after the turn, he was met with a smokescreen, probably another tactic to allow the likely more fragile gunslinger to get away. The fact they were yet to get a sight of their fifth member was on his mind, and he stopped himself just in time to notice the smoke had a strange green tint about it. It was likely a trap, thought the young man as the sole of his bony greaves screeched against the pavement as he came to a stop. He put up his guard and retreated a few steps to have both the building and Julia’s fight in view. So far, they were doing their job. With two people, they held three members of the enemy team in one area. As long as they could keep doing this, Gregory, Lucas and Melissa would have the numerical advantage. They’d at least end up capturing one person, he hoped, if they held their position long enough. --- On the other side of the arena, a fierce battle of giants was taking place between the T-rex and the dragon. The dinosaur’s maw closed only a few inches from the dragon’s leg, who then rolled to avoid Melissa’s tar. The girl tapped twice on Lucas’ neck, their sign that she was hopping off as well. She spied the flower girl doing the same after having used her quirk, seemingly on her teammate as it wasn’t aimed at any of them. Nonetheless, she went for Gregory, so Melissa decided to leave them alone and recenter her attention on the dragon, and right on time. After a ferocious exchange with Lucas, where the T-rex took a couple solid blows to the face, the dragon was trying to fly away. “Hey, now that won’t do mister, you get back down!” she shouted as she started shooting a large volley of tar balls, aimed at the base of his wings primarily. On their own the projectiles were a little imprecise and all over the place, but with such blanket fire, she hoped to at least score a few hits and impair his ability to fly. And none of that was counting with Lucas, who still had a few things to say to the dragon boy. “Whatta wee lass said!” he roared as he pushed on his powerful legs to twist his body for a roundhouse tail whip, aiming to slam Jack into the side of the building before he flew over it and keep the fight going. One didn’t really expect a T-rex to make complicated movements, but one also had to remember that Lucas was not a T-rex. He was a Glaswegian, and he could fight like one. “Ya wee fucking fanny, look at ya, away and lie in yer own pish! An takin the piss even! Stand an fite, ya fokin sissy!” It made him rather hard to understand, admittedly. As for Gregory, he had been caught by surprise when Hye-Rin jumped down to face him with a martial arts stance. He stopped dead in his tracks, eyes as cold as his flame scrutinizing the Korean girl. He was still a little far from the dragon, and more importantly, he risked hitting Lucas in this position. “Fine, you’re first then,” he said evenly as two silver flames burned on his hands. He threw each of them in quick succession and many more as he started running in a circle around the girl. The strange fire burned cold, cold enough that when it entered contact with its target, it not only inflicted a painful case of frostbite but also forced the body to warm itself more where it got hit, draining its energy reserves. A quiet but efficient loner, Gregory’s style was all about wearing his enemy down from a safe distance. A ranged user through and through, he wouldn’t close in on Hye-Rin at all; if she wanted to get close, she’d have to come to him. And he was running toward his base rather than theirs. (ooc: remember that Jack and Hye-Rin are still under the Silence affliction from Lucas’ roar! Hye’s healing cleansed the exhaustion effect from Gregory’s flame, but healing the damage takes a couple turns as per the sheets. Jack and Angel, be careful with writing surefire hits/escapes assuming inaction from the other party; its a bit much to assume Jack is gonna have the time to fly away and land somewhere undisturbed when he's locked in a fight with someone of similar ability + a crowd control specialist. As for Angel, you wrote your post as if angel had successfully grabbed Julia's arm despite them having quasi-identical builds, and despite them having the same speed and agility wrote that she was got in position to dropkick as if she stayed in place, despite a mention last post that Julia was ready to spring away. It's nothing too bad, don’t worry, just a little reminder, but do be careful of that in the future! -Jack avoids the first bite and the tar, Lucas takes damage from the punches, but as Jack tries to fly away -Lucas slams him back down with a swing of his tail and assistance from Melissa’s tar -Melissa hops off Lucas's back, runs around Jack while shooting tar at his wings to keep him in place and facilitate Jack’s counter. -Gregory keeps his distance from Hye while shooting at her. Remember his fire has an exhaustion effect! -Julia dodges the grab attempt and the dropkick thanks to Arthur's assistance. She counters with a whipped roundhouse with her extended leg. Takes a good deal of damage from one of Erick’as bullets while doing so, but still in the fight and throwing the kick. -Arthur, after helping Julia, turns the corner to see the smokescreen. Decides to step back to control the shorter way towards Jack/Hye/etc (see map) with the objective to keep the two groups separated. the map: prntscr.com/mvqezb red cross is where Melissa, Jack and Lucas are fighting, pink square is Hye, orange dot is Gregory, yellow dot is Arthur, black cross is where Julia and Angel are fighting, blue and green squares are Lani and Ericka, green spraycan cloud is my poor attempt at representing the smokescreen created by Lani that Arthur is noping from)

After Ericka turned the corner, her friend and teammate Lani was right there to assist her just as she had hoped. Immediately, the girl seemed the follow through on what Ericka needed. Being a ranged fighter meant that Ericka had to be careful with those that fought at a closer ranged. And while her fighting style was capable of close ranged combat, there was no need to give up her ranged advantage and rely solely on that aspect. A number of things were going her way, even if she wasn't capable of seeing them all. For one, she paused bullets were still active. One of her shots had hit Julia, which would help Angel if she took advantage of the situation to keep around the rest of the team. Sadly, Ericka wasn't able to fish out Arthur enough to get him clearly cut off from the rest of his team, but the boy was still behind enemy lines. If they could regroup, they could outnumber and rush him before the rest of his team could help him out. The problem was that Angel, Jack, and Hye-Rin were too far engaged to put something like that together. "He's armored up, so it's not going to be an easy cut. He's fast too." Ericka explained as Lani asked her what was going on. With just that, the dark-skinned Amazon put her quirk to work and created a smokescreen for the two of them. But, no one seemed to enter it. Given how quickly Arthur was chasing her, Ericka figured he'd be there by now, but he stopped. Did he catch up that quick? They couldn't just stand here and wait, not with Jack and Hye-Rin outnumbered the way that they were, so Ericka decided to continue her initiative. Surely Arthur was going to be gatekeeping the path to them, but now that Lani was close by, things could turn out better now. Glancing back at her friend, Ericka nodded her blonde head toward the area Jack and Hye-Rin headed in at the start of the match and spoke up. "They are still stuck over there, so we have to get them to fall back." She said quickly as she started to move forward toward the corner and through the dust. "Keep the right side of that guy open and we can surround him as we get them to retreat." She said just before popping out from behind the building with a quick roll. The delay of her previous bullets was just about up and was about to continue their ballistic path. So when Ericka came out from behind the corner she fired in the direction of Arthur from where they were. It would effectively have Arthur between the bullets and herself. They weren't exactly the stealthiest thing, but the plan was to overwhelm the guy from multiple directions to keep him in place rather than actually hurting him. But that wasn't all Ericka could do. She was also going to fire another single round from her gun at Arthur. This time she was aiming for the right side of his body. If the tricked bullets were coming from behind and Lani followed Ericka's suggestion and attacked his left, Ericka had an opening on his right to cover another direction. But she didn't stop and shoot. Ericka kept moving aiming to skim the building south of them and continue to where Jacka nd Hye-Rin were to assist them and even their numbers a bit. Hopefully, then, she could assess the situation they were in and put a plan to escape together. The tough part was going to be communicating it.

| T his British brat was beginning to get on Angel's nerves! It was always a real pain to fight someone who was just as mobile as she herself because it partially robbed Angel of her biggest advantage! As Julia used her spring like limbs to avoid her grab and then released her grip onto the pipe she had been using a tether and then in an instant launched that same arm down to her knightly team mate who pulled her down onto his armored back like he was a living spring board while Angel was still in her drop kick motion. She had to think of something fast or she was going to be in a world of hurt! "Shit!"As Julia launched herself back toward Angel to deliver a hard round house kick Angel quickly spun her parasol in her left hand so that the dome was facing upward. As she did so she notice the two bullets that Ericka had kept in motion graze Julia's hip and hit her shoulder! That was her opening! Angel just had to make sure to capitalize on it! As the whip like kick closed in Angel did her best to twist her body mid-drop kick so that she could swing her left arm toward Julia's leg as she flipped the first switch on her weapon's handle to cause the dome to shield like dome to open up to block the blow. Angel wouldn't get out of the skirmish unscathed however as the collision of Julia's leg with her weapon's dome combined with Angel's momentum sent the winged woman tumbling through the air as a sharp pain shot through her own shoulder and down her dominant arm as the recoil from the strike hit like she had fired a shotgun. "Double shit!"Knowing she would only have a few moments to capitalize on her attacking opportunity Angel quickly flexed out her wings and worked her muscles to readjust her equilibrium. Once that was done Angel went to work and making Julia pay for her cocky attack! Angel used the full power of her wings and her speed training to their fullest in launching herself forward at her opponent as she closed the dome of her weapon and flipped the second switch on it's handle to cause the dome's tip to open up to reveal the long thin tip of the hidden rapier concealed within the parasol. Despite the blade being blunted it still helped Angel deliver more accurate strikes which was her plan. To continue the work that Ericka had started. As Angel rushed her foe she quickly moved attempt several quick stabs to Julia's injured hip and shoulder. If this was successful she would once again flip the second switch to hide the tip of the blade,do a quick twirl in the air to gain momentum and then attempt a back handed uppercut like strike with the closed dome of her weapon to hopefully keep Julia far enough away that she couldn't grab hold of anything to get away. "You're in my territory now! I rule the skies! Oh and the name's Angel!"If Angel's onslaught was successful she would finally reveal her primary form of attack by launching three stone hard feathers toward Julia's injured shoulder with the goal of limiting her movement due to injury. As she finished her attack she couldn't help but hope that Ericka and the rest of her team were doing with their own opponents. All Angel could really do at this point in time was keep the enemy's most mobile member as busy as she could though she knew she had to keep Ericka posted. Angel just hoped that the gunslinger could hear her. "You doing okay down there!? I'll do my best to keep stretchy busy and keep her off the board! Let me know when Tar girl is out of play so I can go help Rainbow and the others!"Things angel did: 1-Deflected the roundhouse kick, but suffered recoil damage as a result of both parties momentum and force of impact.
2-Corrected her flight path and equalibrium and proceeded to rush Julia as she fell attempting to stab at both her injured hip and shoulder before attempting a backhanded uppercut like sword strike to try and keep Julia away from things she could grab onto.
3-If the uppercut works, she would launched three feathers upward toward the shoulder and hip again.
4-Called down to Ericka to check on her and tell her that she was gonna try and keep stretchy busy. |

Well, that plan could have gone better. As Jack had attempted to make a quick escape, the tar girl, Melissa once again attempted to fire tar at his wings. He knew fully well that the tar could cause a huge problem if it hit the inside of his wings, and would likely just become an even bigger target against the giant T-Rex he was fighting. This whole teaming up on one foe was rather getting on Jack’s nerves at this point, and he knew he had to find a way to take them down. As Melissa attempted to fire the tar at Jack, he did the only real sensible thing he could do and tucked his wings onto his back, shielding Hye in the process before she could safely hop off of him. The tar girls shots were all over the place, hardly even aimed, though a couple would hit Jack along his chest and forehead, along with some of it getting stuck in his fur and hair. As Jack fell, he quickly tried spinning around to avoid the tar attack, and landed quickly, thanks to Luca’s rather well timed attack on his back, slamming the dragon down. However, Jack took this attack in stride, hardly even paying attention to what the T-Rex was spouting. It was all just a bunch of gibberish that hardly would have phased Jack if he could understand him to begin with. As emotionally unstable as Jack was at the moment, he knew not to respond non-personal attacks, especially to a half-witted T-Rex who REALLY didn’t know who he was dealing with. As Jack was slammed into the ground, and while the blow hurt like absolute hell and made Jack see spots for a second, he took it in stride, using the force from the attack to roll on the ground, right below the T-Rex. Aiming to act before the T-Rex could react, Jack would then suddenly bite down on Lucas’s tail, as hard as his jaws could muster. He would then grab onto his tail, and, using all the strength he could between both of his arms and his neck, began to attempt to throw him quickly against the tar-slinger, hoping to incapacitated the both of them for a moment. If successful at all, he would then quickly turn his attention back to Hye-Rin, who was currently fighting against the fire-user. He growled just a bit in annoyance. While he had confidence in Hye-Rin’s ability to fight, her decision to try and fight the fire-user alone was downright foolish. Not that they had much of a choice, the fighting being an unfair 3-on-2, but Jack knew that he had to act fast to help his friend before she got roasted. Thinking quickly, Jack would attempt to pick up some of the rubble from the building that he had smashed out of, a couple of rather large pieces of building as heavy as he could hold them, and, being wary of where Hye-Rin was, attempted to throw one of them at the fire-user. If it didn’t hit him, it may well cause enough of a distraction for Hye-Rin to go onto the attack and get some good hits in. He would keep an eye on her throughout the fight, to make sure she didn’t get backed into a corner. They had to work together in this fight, so he made sure to at least stay a fair distance away from the flower girl. Meanwhile, he would then return his attention to Melissa and Lucas, and, picking up another chunk of building, attempted to throw both of the chunks he held at them as hard as he could. ”How’s it feel not having arms to do stuff like this, ya overgrown lizard?!” he exclaimed, barely even able to hear himself because of the T-Rex’s shouting, but he was sure that the insult would hit home. If Jack were Lucas, he’d be pretty angry that he had decided to bring up a feature that he had no control of. And that’s what the dragon boy was counting on. Jack felt his body beginning to strain from his transformation, and he knew that he probably had about 5 minutes before he was forced to revert. With that in mind, he knew that he had to finish at least the fight with Lucas and Melissa fast, and get them into their cage. His body ached, and the burn wound from before, while Hye had helped heal it slightly, still burned like hell. ”Dammit...I need to end this now…” he muttered, the cogs in his mind going into overtime as he tried to work out what to do. Jack would then attempt to grab more rubble from the building wreckage and attempt to fly up again, and would continue to throw the majority at them over at Lucas and Melissa, hoping that will be enough to cause at least significant damage to where Jack can safely finish the fight. At the same time, he would occasionally throw a piece of rubble towards the fire user, aiming to keep his attention distracted between him at Hye-Rin. Hopefully he would know what it felt like to have to focus between 2 people at the same time. In Jack’s case, it had to be 3. He prayed that he would get some extra assistance soon enough, so that he could finish this quickly before he had to revert. -Shit, escape plan failed. At least we got some healing! -Folded wings in, still got his with some tar on his chest and his hair. That’s gonna take forever to get out! -Ow, got hit in the back by Lucas’s tail! -Slammed down into the ground, but attempted to take it in stride and rolled under Lucas. -Attempted to bite down as hard as he could on Lucas’s tail, then tried to grab it with both hands and would try to throw him into Melissa. Hopefully that’ll keep them down for a moment. -Noticed Hye-Rin fighting the fire-user, was rather annoyed at her recklessness. -Took some debris from the building and threw one at the fire user to at least distract them, while throwing two more at Lucas and Melissa. -Would grab more debris and fly up, throwing more of it at Lucas, Melissa and the fire user, insulting Lucas’s tiny arms to get him angry. -Started to feel the effect of his injuries and fatigue, knowing that he needed to end the fight fast while helping Hye-Rin. -Prayed that he would get some assistance soon, before he was forced to revert back to normal.

Post by Kang Hye-Rin on Mar 13, 2019 20:34:07 GMT -4
Hye-Rin knew she was at a disadvantage. Though the others around her harnessed powerful Quirks, all she had was her martial arts prowess. There was no way for her to use her flowers to her advantage when it came to combat, and she had to work much harder for what she had than the others around her. She was Support Studies after all, in a event dominated by students in heroics courses," Focus." The switch that flipped in her mind- the one her master told her to create just for moments such as this- made her hone in on one thing and one thing only. The Korean was numb to the rest of the happenings in the area around her, which was either a curse of a blessing in that moment. The white-haired teen didn't looked at her just the way she wished to be seen- as a worthy opponent. Her naive and kind heart was often dismissed as weakness, and even her friends coddled her in a way she didn't approve of. Hye-Rin was the type to endure for others, though, and she allowed herself to be walked over so that others could thrive. Like a flower in spring, she began to blossom when Gregory saw her as an equal enough to not count her out. As Jack began his fight against the dinosaur and it's rider, so began the fight between her and the other boy. With her body lowered, it made it easier for her to balance and bounce back when she had to shift her body to dodge his icy attacks. The fire that the boy was oddly-colored, and the focused Korean made note that, even though it looked friendlier than normal fire, that it'd be best to not touch it. The first two attacks were barely dodged, and the lack of warmth she felt as they whizzed by her left her puzzled. However, now was not the time to distract herself with the little details. Thinking fast as Gregory took his first step to begin circling the Korean, Hye-Rin unzipped the top half of her gym uniform and slipped it off. There was a black tank top underneath, but she didn't begin to strip without reason. As the fire-bender began to assault her with his flames, she'd flail her shirt in front of her to block the attacks as she charged towards him. If he didn't want to close the distance, she'd close it herself. Though Jack was struggling with his own fight behind her, her only focus was her opponent. Even if she had noticed him, there was no way she could fight a T-Rex in the same way she could fight a lighter. If the shirt had held up and she had closed the distance enough, Hye-Rin would toss it at Gregory as a distraction. Hoping he'd be caught up in the sudden attack with a garment of clothing, the true attack would come immediately after as the flower pot spin and drop close to the ground hopefully inches in front of the boy. Her hand would slam into the ground, using the centripetal force from the sudden spin to send a heel kick towards his ribs. It combined both an evasive maneuver and a powerful kick, and it was the first advanced kick the Korean had learned in her time with her master," Meia-Lua de compasso!" She'd shout out the name as she had before, her voice sounding much less meek than it usually did. If the shirt was destroyed in the middle of her closing the distance, she'd do her best to shift her body to dodge. However, once she became a bigger target as she got closer, the Korean would have to block at least one of the attacks head on. She'd cover her face with her forearm as she did so, making sure that it was her non-dominant left hand that took the brunt of the attack. The second the flames hit her arm, she'd wince grit her teeth through the pain. It was unlike anything she'd felt, and it burned as if it wasn't fire. Though, she wouldn't stop there, and would continue with the attack even if Gregory landed a hit. -focus fam -just barely dodges the first two shots from greg egg -decides she doesn't want to deal with dodging more, and takes off her gym shirt to help her -will use it to eat the attacks up when he throws them while she charges towards the lil cheeky bastard -if it isn't completely destroyed by the time she gets to him, will throw it at him and use 'the king of kicks' - -if it is completely destroyed by the time she gets to him, will have to block some of his fire w/ her left arm -will fight through pain to kick him -doesn't notice jack mcstruggling, too focused on her own shit

these rapid eyes will keep on moving There as a brief moment of tension between Lani's makeshift screen of dust and nothing happening at all. She was expecting someone or something to come right through the cloud as Ericka warned her that someone was after her. But in the few moments that one would expect for someone to be there, there was nothing happening at all. Lani raised a brow in confusion. Maybe she was just being impatient, but it seemed like whoever was chasing her seemed to have just stopped. "So much for that," Lani said as she looked to the blonde with a half chuckle. Their trap didn't have enough bait and whomever they were trying to trap didn't fall for it. SO it was time to go on the offensive instead. That was fine and dandy, but unlike the rest of her team, Lani had no idea what she was dealing with or the situation at hand. And if she had yet to run into anyone just yet, that meant that the numbers were lopsided of the rest of her team. But how was she going to get over there to them?
Thankfully, Ericka was there to cover her options and now rendezvousing with the team seemed like her plan. Together they could get a better assessment of the situation and put a plan together from there. And since Ericka knew of the situation, Lani gave the girl a nod to follow her lead. It seemed simple enough. They had to get to where Jack and Hye-Rin were and support them, which meant dealing with whoever was in the way between themselves and the other two. So after Ericka rolled out, Lani waited a few moments. Since she was the first one out, she would be the one grabbing the most attention. Lani coming out second would give her a small bit of a surprise element. Just enough so that she could really put some fright into anyone standing in their way. She ran her finger along the center of her top and then to her sword, similar to what she did the last time. However, instead of green, the weapon became red instead. And instead of dealing with gases, the sword now changed matter to solid. It was effectively a normal weapon she could use to fight directly.
What was important here was that she would use the red color to change non-solids into solids. And she had something in mind that was going to premiere at the sports festival. One of the things heroes had under their belt for glory and recognition were special moves. And while the school had yet to teach the ins and outs of them specifically, Lani had dreamed of what her moves would be like for a long time. She was at the point where she could do some of them, kind of. The one she had in mind she could only really halfway do. Without being as familiar with her costume as she was with her sword, she couldn't manipulate the matter around it like she could her weapon. So the second step of the special move was impossible for now. However, the first would be enough for her to pull off something seriously amazing and she wanted to showcase that. Maybe she could even coax some cool moves out of her teammates and opponents. Maybe she was going to see something really cool because of it!
So, with a final deep breath, she turned her body around the corner and rushed forward. The dust still covered her approach since Arthur was still very close to it and Ericka served as an initial distraction. She moved forward with her body low and held her sword low to the ground with body hands. Since she had yet to be seen by anyone, they had no idea where she was or what she was going to do just yet. But once she was in view, Lani made sure to move quickly and act immediately. The girl ran straight for Arthur. As Ericka wanted, she stayed on the left side fo Arthur so that Ericka had a clear target on the right. And when she got close enough,
Lani crotched a bit. It was here that she would use her special move for the first time in real combat. She held her sword out, trying to give it the maximum amount of range that she could and spun her body. She spun a full three hundred and sixty degrees as she lifted herself up into a standing position and followed through with a short hop. Normally, the very subdued Link-esque move wouldn't be much of a threat, but striking with the sword wasn't her only goal. Like with the asphalt, Lani could change the state of matter of things that touched her skin or her sword. And in the arc of her sword swing, she used the red color to change the air along the tip of the blade from gas to solid. She had effectively made a ring of solid air to attack as a wave around her at the height her sword was it.
It would be about the same height as Arthur's midsection and given the flashiness of the move, it was both obvious where the line of attack was and great for drawing the Knight's attention. And with Ericka's bullets and Lani's positioning, it was hopefully enough to push Arthur in only one direction, deeper behind enemy lines. But Lani wasn't quite satisfied enough with just performing her special move. Like all moves, it needed to be heard loud and clear. And with the Lani brand confidence and vocals she was known for, the crusader let out a mighty howl, "LIGHT SPEAR!" 957 | @tagged | notes ulla

Of course, just as the swords were blunted, so were Erika’s bullets, but it sent sharp pangs of pain down Julia’s back nonetheless. But Julia was a tough girl, and she wouldn’t allow herself to fall so easily, especially with her siblings watching her on TV. There was only the slightest hint of course correction as she threw her whip-like roundhouse kick, and it landed on target. The winged girl managed to twist herself and put a parasol between her and the kick, but the way she recoiled was unmistakable, she couldn’t block with full efficiency on such short notice and the attack went right through her block. From the parasol she pulled out a rapier and flew at her, as Julia settled herself on the ground.
Angel’s rushdown was met with a surprisingly proper kickboxing stance. For every stab of the rapier Julia twisted around the thrusts, answering the graceful, flowing movement of the winged girl with deft footwork and more than a little spring in her step. She answered with her own prodding jabs -- contrary to many martial artists, she still held the reach advantage against a sword, hitting empty air. They weren’t meant to damage the opponent, but rather to prod them for a reaction.
From this short exchange, Julia’s quick-working brain determined two things. First, they were both equally agile and equally skilled at close-range exchanges; if this fight would last, they would probably take each other out. She briefly considered the possibility. With Arthur laying so deep inside enemy territory, they likely wouldn’t be able to capture anyone from their team, and should the situation keep playing out like it had on the other side of the field, they would retain the advantage. It wouldn’t be such a bad outcome.
However, the second thing that she noticed made her reconsider: she was faster, not ludicrously so, but more than enough to use to her advantage. Another twirl announced a powerful blow, but it was telegraphed enough that Julia could crouch down and rear back her right fist, accumulating potential energy in the springs in her legs and arms before leaping to the side, a split second before the uppercut sliced at where she used to be.
“Right there, pinky!” she shouted, firing her fist for a long, stretched right straight aimed at the angel’s jaw, crossing over the feathers Angel was firing. There wasn’t much she could do but plant her legs down and put up her guard, the feathers sure to hit her, but from this position her fist had to reach. Speaking of position, her leap hadn’t been hazardous either, as she aimed for their side of the field, hoping to draw the angel closer to their side. If she broke off to assist with taking down Arthur, then she would simply run to her teammates and bolster the numerical advantage they had that side of the field even further.
---
As for the bony knight himself, while this catfight of angels and slinkies was going on, he had his own trouble to contend with. The gunslinger blonde really had a lot of control over her bullets, as she was able to redirect on a quasi 180 to fire back at him, dashing to his side as she did so to fire another one. At the same time, another girl came out of the smoke, their fifth man -- or woman, as it was, and she was holding a sword.
With quick reflexes, Arthur got his main gauche in the way of the bullet coming from the left and held his right-hand blade in a parrying position, turning his shoulder and side towards the two bullets which he had no choice but to take. He grimaced a little under the helmet -- his suit of cartilage armor was strong, but so were the bullets. Without Julia’s agility, they hit him square and at full strength. Enough of those would get past his defense if he wasn’t careful.
Without letting him rest for a second, Lani quickly followed with a tornado-like movement, rising up as she twisted her entire body to slash at his chest multiple times. Each time, her red sword found his pale one parrying and deflecting, but there was something off with her swordsmanship, almost as if her attacks extended past her blade. He had to grip it strongly.
She was not a bad swordswoman, a good one, even, but she was no Tetsuko. Arthur was acutely aware that the menace would come from behind, from the gunslinger and her bullets. With his left he made a quick slash in Lani’s direction, more to distract her for a second than to hurt, and immediately turned tail to rush for Ericka with a cross slash once he got in range. In a two-versus-one situation like this, he wouldn’t be able to hold off the both of them indefinitely; he had to go on the offensive quickly and decisively. However, it would probably be a golden opportunity for one of them to get away.
---
Last but not least, the battle of (bus-sized) titans was still going strong. Jack showed his sharpness of mind as he rolled under Lucas to bite at his tail and throw him at Melissa. Surprise quickly took over the dinosaur, but his reflexes were nothing to scoff at either; as not to crush his partner under his weight, he redirected his slide with his tail and crashed into the wall with his powerful leg first. “Hey, watch where the bloody hell you’re going, Lucas!” snapped the girl at him in a high pitched voice. “Shaddup!” he growled as he got back to his feet. Two pieces of concrete and an insult about his arms were thrown at him. He smashed one piece of concrete angrily with his tail, Melissa leaped out of the way of the second one, and Lucas roared back. “Think yer fuckin’ funny? Got ‘nother thing for ya, guess if I can only see shit that’s movin’ ya wee cunt!”
And with those flowery words, he charged back towards the dragon for a head slam -- and if he dodged out of the way, Lucas would push himself off the concrete wall for another tail whip. Meanwhile, Melissa was quickly scrambling away, a new target in mind.
---
With less than a second of eye contact, Gregory understood what Melissa was going for. He stopped running as the Korean girl he was facing removed her jacket and charge at her. He had to give it to her, it would have been a cunning plan in other circumstances, taking the fire on her clothing to buy time. However, the nature of his flames were a problem. Not wanting to give away the strategy and let letting her come close, he still threw a couple of slivery fireballs at her cloth. It caught on fire, but once again, it didn’t burn; instead, it got cold, very cold, and quickly, enough to cause a nasty case of frostbite if she held on to it. The flames didn’t stop, however, and she would have to fight through repeated fireballs if she hoped to get close to him.
Yet, his fixed position despite running at first and the precise nature of his shots where a barrage would likely accomplish the same thing more effectively were small, but present hints that Gregory’s cold flame wasn’t the main assault. Indeed, right on Hye-Rin’s tail was Melissa, her hands thick with black tar and a devilish smile on her face. Gregory would take the kick with a weak guard, attempting to lure her into a false sense of success as Melissa jumped her from behind and attempted to stick her limbs to her body with generous servings of the thick, sticky liquid she produced. If they could secure a capture early on, their situation would get a lot better all at once.

While her first attempt failed, it seemed like she was still the main target and thus, her plan to keep Arthur separated and trap him away from the rest of his team could continue. The moment she was out in the open again, he seemed to train directly on to her. She didn't know why he had this laser focus that seemed to exclude everything else, but Ericka was going to use it to her advantage. It was completely possible that he figured that because she used guns, her close ranged combat suffered somehow. But Ericka was about as equal to Lani in that regard. And while Arthur was better than them both in raw skill, Ericka was far from defenseless. With that said, she used the time in Lani's short distraction to keep on the path she was going. She moved along the side of the building until she hit the corner. By this time, Arthur was running in at her with his blade primed and ready to attack her with an attack. Ericka had to be careful here.
She couldn't outrun the boy, but the more space she made, the deeper behind the line he was going to be. And now that she was closer to Jack and Hye-Rin, they would soon be able to back each other up and have Arthur surrounded. Now at the corner, Ericka pointed both her guns directly at Arthur as he charged in. She still kept up a pace of moving backward, but she knew that she wouldn't just be able to run away from him. The gunner fired off four shots, bringing her total fired count to eleven. This meant she had five before she needed to reload her pistols and use up another chunk of her quirk. Thankfully she could be pretty conservative in this fight. These shots were aimed high, at Arthur's shoulders and helmet. She wanted to keep his aim and attention up around head height, so if he wanted to block her bullets with his blades he would have to do so high.
And if he didn't, her shots would land on some pretty vital areas. But the most important thing was for him to bring his arms up to chest level so that when he came in with the cross slash, Ericka could duck back and low in an attempt to avoid a direct hit. She turned her body to the side as she did so that she would be hit in the arm or shoulder should the strike land. This was just her attempt to minimize as much damage as possible. With with her moving backward away from the strike, the force applied would hopefully be lessened. It was here that Ericka had to depend on her teammates. She needed Lani to continue to keep his escape route cut off while biding time for Jack and Hye-Rin to achieve an attack or retreat and close off Arthur's only other avenue of escape. Hopefully, their teammate would pay off.

| T he usually always happy and excited Angel was beginning to get quite pissed off rather quickly! Somehow Julia had avoided every single attack that Angel had tried to land even managing to get herself back onto the ground to the winged girl's irritation. As her sword thrusts met nothing but empty air Angel began to grunt under her breath as her anger grew. Angel knew this was probably want Julia wanted. She wanted her opponent to lose focus due to her anger and frustration, but Angel despite this had to hold herself together. As she worked on doing so and Julia threw her fake punches Angel just simply jumped back a few steps to weave out of the way while placing her rapier back into the parasol base. "You're good springy, but i'm determined to knock you on your ass!"The spring loaded foe had even managed to dodge her uppercut! How was she so freaking fast!? Angel was going to take those limbs of hers and tie them in knots so that there was no way she could get away or escape from the cage she was going to get stuffed in! As Julia launched out one of her arms for a long range punch Angel quickly spun her parasol to gain momentum before striking downward onto Julia's fist to save herself from the attack, but it was soon revealed that the attack was just a deversion so that Julia could once again gain distance by spring jumping away. She was not going to get away that easy! "Stand and fight like a woman!"Angel quickly broke into a run before jumping high into the air using her wings to take flight and give chase to her equally as Agile foe. As she began to chase after Julia though a realization finally struck Angel like stone feathers to the face! The U.A. team seemed to be facing people who were matched to themselves! It was as if they were fighting mirrors of themselves which meant that if Angel couldn't beat herself she could have someone beat up her dopple ganger foe for her as she took on a more grounded foe. As this realization hit her she heard the rather angry sounding Dino begin to get as frustrated as she was becoming! This was her chance! Angel quickly corrected her course and flew as fast as she could toward Jack and Hye while calling toward Jack. "Jack! We're not gonna be able to beat people with similar quirks to what we have! If we can't defeat ourselves, then let's defeat each other! Why don't we try switching dance partners!"Angel now with a confident smirk as she drew closer to Jack,Lucas and Melissa as Lucas went for his head slam against Jack. To put her plan into action she flung her wings forward launching five feathers from her right wing toward the large T-rex before continuing to fly toward Jack to pack him up so that he could escape and swap foes with her while also trying to trick Lucas into stopping short knowing her feathers probably wouldn't hit him. "Think your puny t-rex brain and your little girlfriend can keep up with the winged ruler of the skies!?"Map (purple line is Angel's flight path toward Jack and his foes)Things Angel did: 1-Jumped back to avoid Julia's punches while returning her rapier to it's base. 2-Used the closed dome of her weapon to smack down Julia's punch before giving chase after her. 3-Realized that she wouldn't be able to beat someone who fights so similar to herself and so she comes up with the idea for her and Jack to switch their foes with each other and began heading toward him. 4-Mid-flight she launches 5 feathers in Lucas's and Mel's direction just to fake them out and get them to jump back from Jack so he has breathing room and to give her time to get there. |

Jack couldn’t help but grin at how well his plan worked out. Hye-Rin seemed to be handling herself rather well, which made Jack feel more at ease that she could handle her own for a while longer. He turned the majority of his attention back to Lucas and Melissa, the latter apparently deciding to go after Hye-Rin to double team against her. He growled a bit at the nerve, but his own team was doing the same thing against Valient’s leader, so he couldn’t really complain much about the tactic. ”Hang in there just a while longer, Hye…” he muttered, returning his focus entirely back to Lucas for the moment. The T-Rex was rightly infuriated by the dragon’s quick insults about his arms. He didn’t really let the insults get to him, now that he could understand him a bit better. He’s told himself a lot worse things, so being called a ‘cunt’ wasn’t exactly too insulting in terms of a combat insult. Lucas began to charge forward at him rather recklessly, as expected. ”And that...is checkmate, I believe.” he mused aloud, jumping up as high as he could and would attempt to take flight once more, ready to dodge if the big reptile was about to jump and aim for another tail-swing. If he was successful in his maneuver, Jack would then attempt to fly straight down at full force at Lucas, aiming to punch and claw him right in the back at full power, and hopefully give him enough breathing room to go and help Hye-Rin for a moment. However, whether his full force attack was successful or not, fate apparently had other plans. Suddenly, Angel came swooping in, firing razor sharp feathers at the T-Rex. She exclaimed that they wouldn’t have much of a chance fighting against their matches in Quirks. Jack realized that she had a major point, and nodded as she suggested that they switch foes for the moment. ”Fine, but help Hye-Rin when you have the chance! She’s about to get double teamed and could use the help!” he exclaim, his worry for his friend evident in his voice. Letting her take control of his situation, Jack would began to run on all fours after Julia, the springy girl. However, instead of going for a full frontal assualt against her, Jack actually stopped short a good few meters away from her, roaring at her, red lightning once again coursing around him. Despite the obvious challenge, Jack would bare his fangs in a coy grin. Feeling his body about to give out in terms of his transformation, he would pull a rather stunning move, and a rather painful, yet likely beneficial move. He would casually raise one of his hands to his frontal, almost crystalline, cobalt blue horn. It was the right size and shape for Jack to handle, so, as to not let himself be weaponless while he recharged his Quirk, suddenly broke the horn off. He grimaced at the pain, as it was rather sharp, but he knew it would grow back the next time he transformed, so it was by no means a huge loss. It was at this point that he would suddenly transform back to his smaller boy form, grinning nonchalantly as he swung his new horn-sword around a bit with ease, rubbing his forehead while he did so. ”Sorry about that. Had to give myself something to help me in the meantime. The horn’ll grow back, by the way, so don’t worry too much about that. Probably gave myself a headache for the next couple of minutes, though.” he said casually, laughing a bit at his rather reckless move. ”Name’s Jack, by the way, miss. Hope you don’t mind, but I’m your opponent for the next little while. Let’s have fun with this little match, eh?” he said, preparing himself for battle against the spring girl. He knew that he was at a bit of a disadvantage with his Quirk being out of commission for the next little bit, but it was still better than having to fight a T-Rex while in his regular form. Whatever Julia’s response was, Jack would then suddenly charge at her, horn in hand. When he would be within range, Jack would then suddenly throw the horn as a distraction towards her. If she fell for it, he would take advantage of it and try to sweep under her legs, hoping to take her off balance as he would attempt to catch his horn and swing the side of this upside Julia’s head. If he was successful, he would then try to go onto the defensive, and wait for an opening to strike her again. Of course, the real fun would begin once Jack could transform again, but that wouldn’t really be for another few minutes. In the meantime, he may as well get some well-needed bastard sword practice in the meantime. Luckily his horn was in the right shape for him to do so. -Worried a bit about Hye-Rin as Melissa went to assist the fire guy, but returned his focus back to Lucas. -Would attempt to go into flight before Lucas could attack him (rather recklessly, like he had hoped) -Would then attempt to get a full force attack onto the T-Rex’s back -Successful or not, would agree to switch with Angel, telling her to help Hye-Rin when she could. -Ran towards Julia, roaring at her in challenge before seemingly grinning -Broke off his horn to use as a makeshift sword as he reverted, gave him a bit of a headache for the next few minutes -Apologized to Julia politely and introduced himself, hoping that their fight would be a good one -Would charge at her, throwing his makeshift sword horn at her to distract her -If successful, would try and sweep under her legs, and if that was successful attempt to catch his horn and smack her upside the head with it -Successful or not, would go onto the defensive and wait for an opening to strike.

Training in the dojo was nothing compared to the adrenaline that coursed through her veins with each passing second. She was scared with every right to be, and yet she still pushed onward towards the white-haired teen regardless of it. Gregory's assault was unlike any Quirk she'd seen thus far, either in U.A. or on the television, and it's effects were unknown to her apart from it being incredibly cold. A frostbitten flame, one that didn't burn the shirt like she believed it would, but instead kept the garment still relatively wearable. Though it did a fine job in blocking the concentrated blasts from the boy, a stray shot hit the Korean's shoulder while she charged at him. Her body reacted with it, her shoulder rolling back and the pain setting in slowly. Just like any normal flame, the pain clung and pulsed on her skin. Though, this was a different burning- cold replacing the heat that always came with burns.Unlike a normal flame, however, it came with the sudden drop of her stomach. The pain was gradual, but exhaustion had set on too suddenly for it to be normal. Frostbite, and a mixture of something else from the white-haired teen's Quirk, was the only explanation, and she gritted her teeth as she threw her shirt towards the boy and began her flamboyant kick. Though, as she was in the middle of spinning her leg upward towards the boy, her focus on nothing but her target began to waver as her eyes caught a quick glimpse of a figure behind her. It was a smart tactic, though the Korean would have never done it herself, and the switch in her brain flipped back without her wanting it to. She went through with the 'king of kicks', albeit now lacking the same force it began with thanks to her frostbitten shoulder, as it landed against Gregory's guard. Hoping that it would knock him if only slightly off balance, Hye-Rin had to think on her feet to stay on the same level as those with the combat Quirks in a fight like this. Knowing the pollen from her own flowers would heal the people in the immediate area, she still chose to sprout buds across her arms and neck to save her from the sudden absence of her motivation and energy. Just as they always did, the pollen filled her with a small but much needed burst, and she rammed her shoulder into Gregory as her hands went to grab onto his forearm. It was a desperate and wild attempt to keep the promise to her team that she'd 'carry her own weight', but it was an attempt nonetheless as she pulled and threw the hopefully off-balance teenager towards the dinosaur rider from before. Melissa's arms were coated in tar, surely meant for her instead of her own teammate, but she'd try to cleverly switch places with Gregory to keep herself safe from it. It was at this moment, as well, that the Korean finally saw what went on around her without the switch flipped- Jack fighting the T-Rex, Angel flying nearby with feathers dancing through the air towards the said fight. Calling out to her teammate to get her out of the sticky situation she'd found herself in, she'd lift the uninjured arm into the air," Angel-chan!" It was time for her to cash in on that free ride that she'd offered from the start. And it was a much needed one, at that. -oof ow owwie frostbite -oh shit why am i suddenly tired -continues w/ kick (weakened kick from exhaustion), though the switch has been flipped and suddenly she'd snapped out of battle mode hye -mid-spin w/ kick catches glimpse of tar girl -rams her shoulder into greg egg, grabbing his arm and get him off balance and fling him into tar girl -notices jack, lucas, and angel -calls out to angel and wants a ride outta nopeville

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani's flashy strike was enough to catch Arthur's attention and force him to deal with her while Ericka moved. However, he had some skill with the sword, more than Lani had. It seemed that her slacking had caused her blade to dull and for him to be able to react to her strike was a bit of a disappointment. However, shew as still happy to have been able to pull off such a cool and flashy move in the battle for once. That alone was an incredible feeling and she aimed to keep it up. Her signature move wasn't much of a finisher, but she never planned for it to be. It did exactly what she wanted. However, Arthur seemed dead set on Ericka. Did he have a thing for huge chests? He parried her blow, sending Lani stumbling back a bit as a result of the reaction. Her eyes glanced behind her as it happened to make sure she wasn't falling back into any of his other teammates and to check on what the others were doing. That moment was where she caught sight of Angel flying in the direction of Jack and Hye-Rin. It was good they were getting some help, so all they had to do was keep Arthur busy until they could retreat. Ericka using herself as bait seemed like a good idea so far. Hopefully, Arthur didn't wise up. But with the way he was relentlessly attacking Ericka, Lani didn't think that he would.
As for Lani, she was just going to have to keep up the pressure. Ericka was in a rough position and there wasn't much she could do to defend her. Arthur was faster than Lani and after the strike was parried, Lani wasn't in the position to try and catch up with him. Fortunately, her swordsmanship wasn't her only weapon. Her quirk supplemented it well and she was going to make good use of what Arthur didn't seem like he could do. Lani stabilized herself on the ground. She stood upright and spread her legs a bit so that she had a better sense of balance. She needed to regain her poise after being parried and in that time, Arthur was already running at Ericka. So to keep him off balance she was going to strike at his legs. From where she was, there wasn't much she could do about stopping his attack, but she could hit it just as the attack would land. ANd to do that she would use one other of her signature moves. This one was a lot simpler than Light Spear. It required less effort and was significantly less flashy, but it was the first technique that Lani had thought up and it had a whole lot of practical use, especially right now.
She swung her sword low as if to strike the ground beside her foot. And just before the tip of the blade touched the ground, the swing slowed. It was as if she was digging up the ground under her feet. However, her weapon never interacted with the ground at all. What it was doing was solidifying the air around her sword near the ground. Much like with Light Spear, Lani used the red of her sword to change the state of the air around her sword into a solid. And her sword was flinging this solid across the ground as a small wave of force. This was her Angel Fang. It was tinged with a stripe of red as it slid along the ground straight for Arthur's left foot. She aimed it so that it would likely hit just as he struck at Ericka. This meant all his weight would be on his feet since he was using the force to attack. The boy was s sturdy one and she didn't expect to knock him completely off balance. But Lani's goal was to provide just enough force to put him into an uncomfortable or compromising position. 664 | @tagged | notes ulla
