Three days in, eight students handled, four more to bring in today, and maybe Redhorn if the Oni decided to show up. He went through his contacts list on his phone first, throwing out a message for Redhorn: Yo, you wanna help me teach this class today? I was on my own yesterday, I know the kids would be psyched to see you. Also, we should go out and get something tempura sometime. And go on one of those patrol things together if I get the time off to do so. Cheers, Arata/Glovebox. Hitting send, he took a moment to look around the training facility he had requisitioned. The floors were lined with industrial hero grade gymnastics mats. The walls were too. Even the ceiling had some mats glued to it. His students got very in to their work.
Arata went back to his phone, those red eyes of his looking at the students that he had already seen, making sure to mark them off from the list. Yusaku, Noriko, Tetsuko, Elise, Miku, Emi, Kogami and Kyla. All excused from classes, but, he sent a message to the first four, dubbed Team Alpha, saying that they should keep in touch with each other and be ready for next week. Then a similar message was sent to the second group of four, dubbed team Beta. It was after this, that Arata would hit the Message All feature after the eight exclusions.
Day three everyone, you know what that means. It means another day of special training lessons, and these are mandatory. I am only taking in four of you at a time for each day, so, better be here at least once this week. If you aren't, you're getting to write a paper about heroism theory. Yes I know that isn't a real subject, but, we'll make it one just so that you write the paper, capiche? Good, now then, see you guys in class! And the first lucky four to arrive today! Hitting send, he tucked his phone away in to his pocket, waiting for the first four to show up, after which he would fling his hand out from his pocket, and send out one of his quirk manifested ghost gloves, to shut the door.
Whoever the four were that attended today's lesson, he would greet personally, "Hey guys and welcome, today, I want to go over something important with all of you. We are going to cover the importance of why every hero needs a signature move or a signature style. Sure, you have your quirk, but, let's say you have fire manipulation, there are other people with the same quirk out there! How are you gonna compete? Make it your own. That being said, none of you get to leave this lesson until each of you has a signature move! I'll help you along the way. So, who's first?"
And so began the third day of Arata's combat course regimen. All of class 1-B would know how to use their quirks better after this, he was sure of it.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Honestly, Lani had been waiting for this class. Signatures moves were always really cool and she wanted to show off the things she had always. Even before she had come to Yuuei she had signatures moves of her own. As a child watching her father become an unofficial hero, she loved to see his exploits and the cool things that he did. Naturally, Lani wanted to do them too. And even though she hated her mother, the skills she was taught by her were perfect for creating special moves. Being one of the few swordsmen in the class, Lani was ready to go and show her teacher just what kind of badass she was. She'd hopefully get to see some cool stuff from her classmates as well. All of them had their own unique style for fighting and seeing everyone create something amazing was going to be epic!
When she got the text on the third day, Lani was determined to jump into the class. She came prepared as all. The dark-skinned Amazon owned a special sword. It was a gift from her mother and it was supposed to be used with her quirk. Lani hadn't really made use of it since she wasn't the type to go around cutting up people at random. However, she did practice with it and she was going to use it to perform to really cool signature moves. As for what she was going to wear, it was going to be her gym uniform. Her costume was likely going to get complaints from her teacher, so she would save that until he better understood her quirk It was easy to assume that it was designed to show off. It was an assumption that Lani was used to. To the point that it was just a normal day for her.
The gym uniform she wore now wasn't correct either. She wore the jacket, but it was open and had no shirt on underneath. Just Lani's skin and bra out in the open air for all to see. It was the same with the sleeves and her gym pants. They were rolled up so that her skin could absorb the light and she could use her quirk effectively. It was how she was the most comfortable and how she was going to handle the combative course they were in right now. And finally, at her hip and hung from her bottoms with a clip was her sword. It was a red guard and handle. There was no blade, which was weird and hard to understand until Lani used her quirk.
Arriving at the site, she spotted her teacher and gave the guy a wide wave. "What up Teach!" She called out loudly. Lani was confident and known for being loud. She wasn't subtle or timid at all. "I can't wait to show you all this cool shit." She added, teasing the ideas she had for her signature moves. And as much as she was excited to show off, she wanted to see what her classmates could do as well. ulla

Haruuhi had been spending a lot more time at home lately then at school. Ever since she had moved into her new adoptive fathers place she'd been more focused on her familial relations than school, and as such she had started missing out on quite a few training classes that weren't exactly mandatory anyways. She did try to make up for it though, asking to train with G and pushing herself every day to learn every bit of Hero Law as well as working on her martial arts training.
She knew that alone wasn't enough... if it was, the heck would you need a Hero School for? No.. she had to suck it up and actually go to one of these classes! And what a class to be mandatory too! Signature moves and signature styles?? Every comic book Hero ever had that one thing that set them apart, and for the life of her Haruuhi hadn't been able to figure out what set her apart. Her quirk was pretty straight forward and not exactly flashy like the other kids was...
"Okay Haruu... It'l be fine. Go in there, kick the pants off that Signature move... go home, decorate for Christmas. Got it!" The girl said, giving herself a pep talk while in the locker room, changing into her gym uniform at a rapid, determined pace. Over the few months she had been at U.A, Haruuhi had learned to open up and relax quite a bit. She was no longer so wound up she had to speak through her uterus speaker bx, and she wasn't wearing the same old clothes everyday because she was shit poor. Nope! This Haruuhi spoke up! Sometimes... okay occasionally... but she did dress more confidently! Note the zipper of the jacket was pulled down a bit above her breast bone. Not enough to show much skin at all, but it wasn't pulled all the way up! little improvements!
As she walked out into the gym, she was tying her hair back and looking forward with fiery determination. That determination and her pep talk were thrown out the window though as she saw Lani, and instead smiled softly as she moved up to stand beside the girl.
"Heya Lani~" She greeted confidently, falling silent however as Mr. Arata started t speak, going over what it was they would be doing and learning today. Wait... did he just say none of them got to leave until they figured out their signature move. Haruuhi's face started to go pale at the thought of missing christmas all because she couldn't think of something cool to do with her quirk.
"A...Arata...Sensei... A signature move... is really for people with more p... practical quirks than mine... Unless I leave an electronic imprint on the r... radiowaves that bounce off me... I... I don't think there's really much I can do..." She said in her best attempt to sound confident in herself outside of home... G, Miku and Akio had really broken her out of her shell, sure... but she really didn't know Arata sensei all that well beyond him being her teacher...

Oh Damn, looked like she might actually be on time for once. Casually strolling through the campus of UA this time, she'd made it here a few minutes ago but the walk from the front gate to the training facilities wasn't exactly short. Not long, just not short. She'd worn her hero garb today, her bandaged chest, forearms, and roomier pants. It was minimalistic sure, but it spoke to her more guttaral fighting style that didn't need any fancy tricks, let her display herself rather than her costume with how much of her key muscles it showed, and most importantly, with how she could fight, any excessive fabric would just be obliterated when she fought anyway, so no point in it.
Arriving on the scene, it seemed some kids were already here, this time Mia didn't recognize a single one. Guess she had to run out of people she recognized at some point. A little dazed from a long sleep last night, Mia raised a hand to wave over to the teacher before walking up to join him by his side, glancing over the two kids alreayd present before shooting a smirk to Glovebox himself. "Same as the last two days chief?"

Welp, with all the waiting, it felt like two weeks had passed, Arata sighed and rubbed the back of his neck while only three people showed up. Two students and a teacher's assistant. At least Mia was reliable! First was Lani, who came in, using an expletive. Arata pinched the bridge of skin between his eyebrows, one hand resting on his hip while he let out a heavy sigh. "Language." After playing the adult, he dropped that facade, and got hyped up, clapping his hands together while pointing at the sky, sending six of his quirk's gloves up in to the sky like rockets. "Oh yeah! I'm looking forward to you being one of the example setters!"
As he was finishing up with Lani, Haruuhi came in next, someone with a little less confidence in their powers to make a signature more or a style. Arata just pinched his chin in thought, while thinking to himself for a moment, "My quirk lets me make balloon looking gloves. What's practical about that? We have had someone with a quirk that turned them in to a robot, and they found the means to make something with their one time use quirk. Even Miku, someone who manipulates plants, is coming up with ideas on how to use her quirk." He leaned in close, poking a finger harmlessly to Haruuhi's forehead, giving her a stern look.
"Your quirk is one of the most versatile ones I can think of. i mean, I can count on all of my hands, and I mean my quirk's fingers as well when I say this, the number of characters in anime and manga that use sound for their powers, less so radio waves, but, looking at them alone can give you inspiration!" He declared while stepping back, pounding a hand over his chest, wincing a little as he forgot his own strength.
After doing this, he would clear his throat, "Alright, Haruuhi, the point is, you shouldn't think your quirk is a dead end. Look at mine. I can use it to hold things. I can punch things with it. I've been thinking of new ways to use it beyond the basic applications. I just have to think of what I want to do, and put my mind to it. I'm learning from Tetsuko how to use Iai, so I can punch faster without letting people see my arms move."
"The point is, it's best to have someone else help you if you can't think of something yourself." As he finished his little speech, Mia came in, "Hey Redhorn, yeah, just these two so far. But, I am going to try and get us two more. Mind taking over while I send some messages out to the class?" He asked while pulling out his phone, ready to send sme mass texts to class 1-B to get at least two more students out here.

these rapid eyes will keep on moving Lani's face lit up as Haruuhi came to the course. She was the very first person Lani met that was in her class and they had a pretty comical encounter together before school started. Since then, a whole lot happened. Semper Fi, the Kunshu Festival, her hospitalization and so much more. However, Lani was glad the girl was still with them. She seemed so timid and sweet that Lani couldn't help but feel like a big sister to the girl even that they were basically the same age. And as she grew, so did Lani. It was progress that she enjoyed seeing a lot. Seeing the timid ones turn into true heroes. What Haruuhi thought of Lani, she really didn't know or mind. But as the vice president, Lani was happy to have her here.
Though, with the course being about fighting styles and signature moves, Lani was interested in seeing what the girl could come up with. Once she got closer, Lani attempted to wrap one of her arms around the girl and pull her in close for a friendly camera worthy hug. "That's what the fuck I'm talking about. Rad-chan's in the house!" She exclaimed loudly with an already developed nickname for the girl. "You working on filling out that costume design girl?" She added. It was a long while ago, but Lani remembered the drawing of her costume that the girl had made in the hospital. It was obviously of her adult self but she had a lot of growing to do before she got to that level.
And then after that, the main show appeared for the class. A special guest; an actual pro hero. Red Horn was what she was called and Lani knew of a few of her exploits from what she heard other students talking about. It seemed that she was going to be an example for the class as they learned and tried out their special moves. This excited Lani and she looked forward to seeing what the hero had to offer them. But before too much wondering went on, the teacher was quick to continue the class and give his instruction. "Chill teach, they are just words." He also had some encouraging words for Haruuhi, who didn't seem confident in her ability to create a signature move. As Arata said, she had a lot of applications with her quirk. And if she wanted to create a special move, one that could be seen and remembered, she had to get a little more creative than someone like Lani. Lani's quirk used light. It had the natural advantage of being flashy and colorful. Haruuhi's quirk, on the other hand, used radio waves. They were invisible and was harder to perceive. But with the right equipment and use, Lani was sure the girl could come up with something.
"What do you think about using some other things with your quirk. You had a talk box before right?" She asked, remembering back to when they first met. "With all the signals you can pump through that thing, I'm sure you can make something cool to disorientate some nasty villains." ulla

Lani pulled her quite suddenly into a big hug which caught Haruuhi off guard. She couldn't help but chuckle a little bit and hug Lani back. It was actually super comforting in a way that Haruuhi hadn't quite expected it to be... Not a lot of people randomly hugged her beyond G.
She got promptly distracted though when a completely new face arrived on the scene. It was Red Horn, a pro hero she had heard about a few times on the various radio stations throughout the city. She'd only seen her about twice before on TV though... so what was someone like her doing here? Wait, an example? Was Redhorn going to be helping them out with their special moves too? Her face started to turn bright red at the idea of a pro hero helping her out with her quirk! How awesome! Oh no! What if Redhorn thought that she was totally useless to? What if they didn't manage to think of a special move for her at all!? Her head started to spin with doubt, hiding herself a bit more into Lani's hug until she heard Arata-sensei speak up.
He... had nothing but good things to say about her quirk? He actually believed she could find something, a move that was all her own? Something that set her apart... but unlike Arata-Sensei's gloves, her attacks couldn't be seen at all... She scratched the back of her head, now just looking confused as she tried to think of... something.
"How do you make an invisible quirk noticeable... I just... I can't think of... anything..." She muttered to herself, scratching the back of her head but then looking back up to Lani when she brought up her speaker... Sure she already used it to blast radiowaves through to make her attacks more powerful, but it still wasn't at all flashy. But what Lani suggested was something that would disorient the villains and that caused her to bring a hand up to her chin.
"Well... our brains do produce really low radiowaves... Maybe if I can get close enough... I can manipulate those enough to cause vertigo..." Haruuhi mused the thought, having briefly looked into it but figured it was far beyond her current skill level to try...

Arata would take the time to point at Lani, and then at his eyes, a more comical action as he portrayed being the big bad big brother always watching her for the language she used. In reality, he was just being a teacher and just trying to maintain a little order, but, as a person, he just wanted to see his students happy. "Good idea Lani, and Yumi, I think I might have the hang of this one, wanna sit back and watch? Just in case I break something, again."
"And Haruuhi, you aren't thinking wide enough, or, broad enough. Think of it this way, the most notable heroes are the ones that no one can predict, or can see what it is they do. People know them for standing there, and bringing villains to their knees just by standing there. There's this one manga about pirates, where this guy, he just looks at people, and they fall over, foaming at the mouth, because he just has that kind of a presence." There he went, referencing manga again.
"Take a look at things like that, or, studying how radio waves can affect other things. Aren't sound waves used for demolition? Or used to sense things? Not every signature move has to be showy, and you can find so many different ways to use it." He thought about how to demonstrate this, and held on to his chin before he spoke to her again.
"So, I'm learning Iai sword fighting from tetsuko, because, I can use my hands and my pockets in place of a sword and sheath, that was knowledge without skill that I have right there. I know what I want to do, but I can't do it. And then there's skill without knowledge, where, just yesterday, I cracked my knuckles and turned my quirk in to a bomb on accident. What I mean is, it's more about how you look at your quirk and the world, rather than what it is YOU can do RIGHT NOW. You know what I mean?"

While Haruuhi thought her idea was pretty good, the more the thought of it, the less of a signature move it became. No she needed something different and less villainous. Hmmm but what could she do exactly? She looked down at her hands as Arata spoke to her, trying to figure out how to adapt what he was talking about into something that she could use but it seriously hurt her brain to think of... Then he mentioned sonar, and it was as if smething finally clicked into place.
"Radar..." She murmured as she extended her hands forward, thinking hard on how Radar worked in practical use... the radio waves emitted for regular Radar were pretty strong, but not destructive so she had to manipulate her own wavelength quite a bit for this one. She stood with her hands extended out in front of her for a full minute, clsing her eyes as she focused n changing the way her own radio signal was projected. Once she got it manipulated t an appropriate level, she started to release it through her hands in short bursts.
The bursts would be invisible to both Arata and Mia, so they probably didn't realize what was happening until those radiowaves hit them. It would send a tingling sensation up their spine, similar to a shiver before vanishing, the radio waves bouncing off of their bodies and back to Haruuhi.
The young girl would let out a slight gasp as the waves came back, not having expected the sudden intake of radiowaves and that caused her to break her concentration, bringing her hand up to her head as she winced, mental images of Mia and Arata forming themselves in her mind.
"Ow ow ow... that's going to give me migraines... but... I think maybe this could be it... Radar could be my signature move!" She exclaimed with a content smile on her face, her hand still on her head as she looked up to Arata. It would take a lot of practice to perfect, and a lot of manipulation to get the radiowave signal just right, but damn this could be something really really useful when it came to rescue operations!
