Geist had waited a long time for this moment. While he had hosted a lesson of this nature before, in this instance the teams were bigger and the arena more varied in its terrain with dusty dirt ground, pools of water, multiple high walls and thick clusters of grass. Needless to say, he was eager to see how this particular game of capture the flag was going to play out. Eight students stood before him in the middle of their designated arena (once again, hopefully wearing their hero costumes if they had them). He flexed his arms and then pointed to them as dramatically as one could possibly point. “Alright, here we are: Capture the Flag, four-versus-four! As that implies, you will each be sorted into teams of four based on the colour headband I’m about to give you! Put the headband anywhere on your body as long as it’s visible. Don’t remove them or I will chokeslam you into next week.” He reached into his coat and promptly tossed a series of eight headbands at the students, four red and four blue. He clapped his hands and from one of the rocks behind him a hidden projector fired a map of the arena into the air. A second rock then fired a projection of the game’s rules directly beside the first projection. “Take a good look! Red Team, as you can see your base is at the north of the map, and Blue Team yours is at the south. Your objective as a team is to get your rival team’s flag into a bucket you’ll find within your base before they do that to yours. You’re allowed to move your own flags, but only within your base, unless you’re taking it back of course. Do not separate the cloth part of the flag from the rest of it. Quirks are permitted and encouraged, but don’t kill each other. Remember, we’re treating this like it’s a genuine heroic mission, so I expect you to refer to yourselves and each other by your heroic codenames!” He gave them some time to look at the map and the rules before clapping his hands so that the projections vanished. “Well?” he cried, dramatically clenching a fist. “What are you staring at me for? Get to your bases and start planning your attack! You only get a little time to do so, so you better make it count!” -- OOC lesson info:
The skull icon marks both the location of the flag and beside it a bucket your team must place the enemy team's flag into in order to win. There are walls behind the bases; they just can't be seen in this map. The arena is the size of a football pitch. Walls and fences are all fifteen metres high. The grass is waist length. Pools of water are fifteen metres deep. If a student falls in and begins to drown, average student-sized robots that resemble metal stickmen divers with round heads and single glowing eyes will carry them safely to the shore (but only when they begin to drown; if you can swim out yourself they will let you).Flags look like this, with small circular bases:
Rules:1. You can move your own flag, but only within your base area. (Except when you're taking it back, obviously). 2. If the opposing team successfully gets your flag into their bucket, your team is OUT. 3. You cannot move your flag bucket or steal the other team's bucket. 4. Do not remove your headbands. 5. Do not separate the cloth part of the flag from the rest of it. 6. The game will continue until one team remains. All students start from within their base. Students will have two posts to convene before the lesson begins, during which they must not leave the their base. After these two initial rounds Geist will post again to begin the game. Once the game has begun Geist will stay out of the way, only stepping in if rules are violated. Post order: Elise -> Rin -> Miyu -> Tetsuko -> Yusaku -> Yumi -> Darren -> Chise You have 48 hours to post after the person in front of you. Please let me know in advance through Discord (Epsilon#4699) if you will not be able to post in this time. If you do not post within 48 hours you will be skipped.

Post by Elise Von Eisenberg on Nov 23, 2018 22:19:22 GMT -4
It had been quite an eventful period for the young Eisenberg, especially in the wake of the military demonstration camp and the events after Halloween. However, amidst the struggles she had been forced to endure, the young lass also saw hope, hope that would show today in her decision to attend the special combat lesson provided by their combat instructor Geist-sensei. The burgundy-haired lass had asked Tetsuko to go ahead, primarily because Elise had been required to make some final preparations before the lesson. Left by herself in the dorm room the girl couldn't help but let out a weary sigh, a hand raised to her chest, the area her core was at. Even if it was beating faintly, she could still recall the conversation with the doctor vividly.
"Elise-san..." the doctor began, hesitatingly as he took a moment to regain his composure and displayed the pictures upon which her Quirk organ was visible. "There has been significant damage to your Quirk organ. It's best that you'd quit trying to become a he-" But Elise was quick to shut down the man's suggestion, a violent shake of her head following. "I don't need my Quirk to become a hero, as long as I have my 'reason', I won't cease trying to become one." The man sighed in acceptance of her words, knowing all too well that this girl was too stubborn to change her mind. "In that case... Please do keep in mind that living like you previously did will be impossible. Your Quirk can't be sustained for an extended period anymore." That was a cheap price to pay in the wake of what she had gained in response. "How long?" the girl inquired, making the man frown for a moment as he pointed toward certain sections of the organ. "As long as no further severe damage is inflicted, you might be able to stay in that form for a few minutes while under serious strain?" A few minutes... so that was the most she had? Then she would simply have to learn to compensate for that weakness. Besides, it wasn't like she was all by herself!
"Just keep in mind Elise: Don't try to remain in your transformed state for more than a few minutes. Your organ simply can't gather enough fluids to safely sustain your transformation for longer." A slight nod of affirmation was given as she felt her thoughts pulled back to reality.
Just because she had this injury didn't mean she was going to stop rying to become a hero! Darren once told her about a famous soccer player who had a heart disease, can you imagine that? a pro who still followed his dream despite those risks? Of course, she wasn't going to let that outdo her!
Making her way to the training facility the girl, who was simply wearing the tracksuit of the school arrived at the designated arena. "Tetsu~" Elise exclaimed with a playful pat on Tetsuko's shoulder while looking at the other participants. For the most part, it seemed that most people were familiar to her. First was Rin Kurama, the girl who had woken her up from what might have been an eternal slumber. "Good morning Rin-chan~" Elise said with a gentle sway of her hand as she turned toward the other participants.
"Oho~ Private Fanservice and Darren~ I'm surprised how many familiar faces are showing up today." the burgundy-haired lass chimed in amusement before turning to the last two familiar members of the exercise. "Oh? Chi-chan?" the girl mused softly, clearly surprised at her presence at a combat lecture of all things. "I hope you been doing well~" Still, at the end it seemed there were two more people left to greet.
"Yusaku-kun~ seems our first class together is faster than expected." the girl stated with a gentle smile till she saw only the last person who was left among the students. "My name is Elise~ Elise von Eisenberg from the B-class~ A pleasure to meet ya."
And then it was the time for their teacher to start his lesson, explaining the rules of the exercise. "Capture the flag..." an exercise often used during military training, still little did she expect the woes that would accompany their training exercise. One by one the students were given their headbands, till at long last Elise was given hers and she turned toward Tetsuko with a smile. "Look Tetsu I also got bl-" yet the sight of the red headband made her raise a hand to her forehead.
"Nononono, this is just mean Geist-sensei..." the girl muttered under her breath. However, as she recalled the time spend in the wake of that conflict, the time she spend with Tetsuko in Kashima, their training together and the struggles they overcame Elise knew what had to be done. She could already feel the tears gathering in her eyes, a hand wiping them away as she declared with pure determination in her voice. "I-I'm going to win, you hear me Tetsu? I'm going to go all out to prove I can be in the hero course! That in the future I'll be able to fight alongside you! So you better don't pull your punches, ya hear me?!"
She turned her back toward Tetsuko and took a few steps southwards. "Rin-chan and Tetsu... this is like a 'Elise versus Friends exercise..." the girl mumbled under her breath as she took a final glimpse at Tetsuko and made her way over to the south base. She inhaled for a moment, trying to calm her nerves as she wrapped the headband on her head, similar to ninjas from a certain popular anime series.
"So Darren, Yumi, you and me. Hmm, this is actually a pretty solid team composition against our opponents. Although, I guess I told none of you about my quirk before, did I? Simply said: I can transform into a slime girl. While in this form I'm more acrobatic than normally and can stretch my body, something I usually do with my hair which contains a pair of tentacle-like appendages in them. They are pretty tough, but their true strength is found in my ability to serrate them, the blade can become sharp enough to slice through iron." She paused for a moment, her smile fading away a little. "You might have heard about it, but I was hospitalized till a while back. the organ which allows me to transform got damaged, so I can only reliably remain in this form for only a few minutes at best. But don't worry! Even untransformed I'm pretty fast and tough, so I'll make sure not to become a burden to the team!"

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy A substitute for Maximillian after what had occured. That is about all Rin knew about this situation she had been placed into. Apparently, other students had been invited significantly in advance. Apparently, they supposedly knew more of what was going to happen than Rin. The raven haired female had only been informed a few days before. Of course, Rin knew a little more than that, prior, simply because Jasmine was apparently invited to play on one of the other teams. Team green or whatever. Alas, with the participant list given out, with the promise of meeting Jasmine in some kind of final on opposite teams, Rin had become determined to give it everything that she had. So she had sat down with her notebook, detailing what her peception of the other students were. Yumi, with the electricity quirk that had a habit of being quite destructive. Darren, with his fast footwork, hardy body and trained martial arts. Elise, with a transformation that granted her perhaps one of the most versatile weapons on the opposing team... plus a newer student, whom Rin was not all too familiar with. Miyu-san. A girl that had introduced herself in the Yuuei chat with the ability to grow into a giant. If Rin was to compare herself directly to the opposing team, she was fairly sure she could hold her own in a couple of categories. Across the board, however, Rin was also fairly sure that there wasn't a single category in which she could outshine anyone on the opponent team. They were strong...As for her allies, Rin knew a little about Tetusko Shindou. A swordswoman, the partner of Elise. They had spoken on occasion. As for the girl's abilities, Rin could only estimate. Since Elise was very respecting of her, there ought to be enough skill behind the respect to warrant an ally to depend on. Chise Ishihara was one of the few students that had managed to make it onto the charts. Unfortunately, Rin knew very well that these charts weren't super indicative of current strength or competence levels. Afterall, the raven haired female was placed at the top. The student to beat. The one others had begun gunning for. All the while, Rin was fairly sure she belonged closer to the bottom. As far as Rin knew, Chise was in the support studies, and not much of a fighter. The new student that was placed onto the red team, was Yusaku. Whom Rin probably had the least information on, except for the debacle when he had been snooping around in files he didn't belong in. Fortunately, those files hadn't belonged to her. Otherwise the information he could've gotten would've been... devastating to have anyone else know, frankly...So the time had been spent analyzing the opponent and analyzing her allies. Trying to get into their heads, understanding what strategy they might be going for, plus executing an effective counter. However, there were still many variables. Variables which Rin could only account for to some extent. Plus, even if the perfect strategy was made, if those on her team didn't respect or appreciate her sentiments, the whole thing would be for nothing. Rin wanted to win this. Wanted to show everyone that she had improved since coming to Yuuei. That the student ranking she was given, was no longer just for show. There were so many things the raven haired female wanted to prove. It would all start today!!Walking out from the locker rooms, dressed in her hero outfit, Rin wasn't exactly calm or composed. Nervously, she approached the group in the middle, waving awkwardly. This was one of the few times where she was not the first one to arrive on scene. "H-hello!.. Uhm... Elise-chan, Tetsuko-cham. Good to see you both away from that hospital." Rin offered them both a kind smile, tilting her head to the side before continuing the introductions. "Yumi-chan, Darren-kun, it's good to be back after the Semper Fi, with all of us in one piece." Bowing her entire body in respects to them both, her meager personality made it seem like she had almost no interest in fighting here. Which, for the most part, was probably correct. "Chise-chan, Yusaku-kun, Miyu-chan. I'm pleased to make your acquantainces.. Lets uh, have a good match, okay..?"As they began walking away from the middle, towards their respective bases, is when Elise uttered a few words. I'm going to win. Rin stopped in her tracks. A deep breath was taken. Then another deep breath. A few more. God, why was it so difficult to have confidence?.. Well, one thing was certain. Rin may not believe in her own abilities... but she would definitely believe in her team. "Elise-chan, that's going to be impossible. Because we won't lose." God. Now it was a promise, wasn't it? Now she absolutely could not allow her team to falter. They were going to win!!! Arriving in the base, Rin had gotten far too nervous for her own good. The sheer nerves from having declared that they were going to win was overwhelming her. Thus, she had sat down against the wall, breathing fast and heavily, literally shaking, muttering to herself. "I should not have said that, should I? Oh god what if I fail miserably, they'll all think I'm such a fool. Oh god why did I do that whyyyy."

Compared to her classmates, Miyu was very new to UA, so she was itching to prove that her inexperience didn't mean she wasn't as cool as them. When she'd heard about the exercise, she'd jumped at the chance to sign up. She'd heard from Yusaku that he'd signed up as well, and right up until Geist gave out their headbands she'd been positively vibrating with excitement. She and Yusaku were certainly going to be on a team together, and she could finally have a chance to work together with h-
She whipped around, blue headband firmly tied around her head, only for her heart to drop as her eyes met the red on Yusaku's head. Not that she didn't like any of the people on her team, but she didn't KNOW any of them. Yusaku was her friend already, and while she didn't doubt she could make new ones it still felt horrible having to fight Yusaku so soon, even just in an exercise.
"Mr. Geist, can we not change our teams?" She whined, "This team layout doesn't seem fair..." Unfortunately, Miyu got the sense that no matter her complaining, the teams weren't gonna change, so she pouted and stomped towards the blue team base. "H-Hey, Elise! Nice to meet you. And you two as well, it's good to meet you! I h-hope we can get along..." She tried to put on a smile for her teammates, but she just wasn't up to it.
"Oh, uh, my quirk is I can grow big! Not as high as those walls, but pretty close! So, uh, I should probably go for defense, because they'd see me coming a mile away..." Miyu shrunk back a little as she spoke, suddenly less sure of her quirk. Elise's and everyone else's were just so cool and weird compared to hers, and everyone else probably had a better idea of who they were up against. Plus, they all had elaborate and cool hero costumes, while hers was...
She pulled at the pink jumpsuit she'd thrown on in the changing rooms before the exercise. It at least looked nice, but she certainly didn't feel very heroic at the moment, even with the cardboard superhero mask she'd picked up on the way there. She just felt so... unimpressive.
She just hoped Yusaku wasn't going to go on attack as well, or she'd have to fight him, and she wasn't sure if she could bring herself to. Perhaps if someone else was piloting him, but on his own there was no way.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Nov 26, 2018 6:36:11 GMT -4
It had been an eventful few weeks for Tetsuko Shindou, to say the very, very, very least. The events at Semper Fi, an assault on her an Elise at the hands of dangerous forces, the attack by Nick Cross that placed Elise in a coma, the surgery that followed, and the training she'd undertaken at her hometown of Kashima... It was quite a lot that had been in Tetsuko's plate, so now that things were finally starting to settle down a bit, the swordswoman was rather keen to take control of her own time once again. As she'd learned from many of the situations she'd been caught up in, she couldn't act idly in the present if she wanted to secure her future and protect her past. Things were far from ideal or perfect now, even with Elise, but Tetsuko wouldn't bring them any closer to a satisfying peace without doing everything she could and nothing less.
The pursuit of strength was an everlasting endeavor for her, a path that took her across many different crossroads, up a thousand mountains, and through a thousand rivers, but it was a path Tetsuko needed to walk along if she wished to achieve her goals. As much as her time in Kashima had helped her advance and prosper, taking her Quirk far beyond its previous levels and expanding her abilities to previously unreached heights, it wasn't nearly enough to simply train. Strict and strenuous though her regiment might have been, it was nothing compared to real combat, even if her Grandfather and his masters held nothing back during their training. Real combat didn't take place in a long hall or open fields, nor even by shrines, nor was at always against swordsmen. True combat was varied and unpredictable in every manner, so the chance to join in on classes dedicated to different combat scenarios was not one she could pass up.
Having made her way to the combat area ahead of Elise, Tetsuko would spend much of the trip over doing her best to relax and focus, honing herself as she'd been taught to not be as... Headstrong as she could be in combat. Strategic thinking was something she could formulate well enough outside of combat, but inside it, she was typically more reliant on instinct than anything else. Far from the 'immovable heart' she strived to attain. Tetsuko only hoped she could perform effectively in this team exercise, whatever the teams might be.
The swordswoman would arrive in her UA tracksuit, still lacking a proper Hero suit due to unfortunate timing. She'd been intending to see a classmate who specialized in making them for a while, but with everything that had happened, Tetsuko had not yet gotten the chance, so was stuck with the tracksuit for now. "Hello, everyone." The Shindou girl would say respectfully to those who had arrived earliest, only knowing a few of those present personally, and a few more indirectly from UA's chatroom and mutual friends.
It wouldn't be long before Elise arrived, her familiar tones prompting a smile on the Shindou girl's face. "Glad you could make it, Eli." She said softly, looking with some level of concern at her girlfriend. Things with them were still strange to Tetsuko after all that had transpired, but they were making much more sense now. Her concern, however, was considering the injuries Elise had suffered, knowing full well she might not be fully ready for an all-out combat scenario...
Not a moment later, Elise's greetings to a certain black-haired girl had Tetsuko turning her head, bowing her head in greeting to someone she was increasingly grateful for. As with most things in Tetsu's life these days, it was complicated, but things were starting to make more sense as time went on. "It's good to see you too, Rin-san." The Shindou girl would greet quietly, before looking again to the other students. A couple she knew from the clubs she'd been participating in, perhaps most notable was Chise, the vice president of the first of two clubs Tetsuko had ended up joining.
Geist wasted no time explaining the lesson to the students, and it sounded simple enough in principle. 'Capture the flag' might be a pretty standard game type, but it contained enough potential for strategic interaction and teamwork to serve as a suitable method for training young Heroes. They'd be divided into even teams, and then came the real stinger of this whole class, as Tetsuko found a red headband in her hands. "I was afraid this might happen..." Tetsuko sighed, knowing from the start there was always the even chance of her facing against Elise. Looking at her with a sympathetic but resigned look, Tetsuko was perhaps more accepting of this than Elise, but surely enough the other girl decided to declare her own resolve, painting a smile full of pride on Tetsuko's face.
"Don't you hold back either! I won't look down on you Eli, so you should be prepared for my all. I'm gonna show you why... W-Why I'm your knight!" Her cheeks were beet red as she braved that last teasing remark, from just how stupid it sounded. It wasn't at all a bad analogy, given how Tetsuko viewed her own obligations to Elise, but to say she would show why she would be her knight? That was the cheesiest thing she had ever dared to say and she wished to take it back! Fortunately, she wasn't the only one saying things she was regretting, as while they advanced forward to their base Rin had her own embarassing declarations.
Breathing a sigh, Tetsuko smiled gently while her cheeks returned to their natural color. "Rin-san, you've made a promise, all you can do now is honor it by doing what you can to uphold it." Tetsuko would tell the girl with all the nobility of a wannabe samurai, placing a hand firm on the other girl's shoulder. Turning back to the rest of the group, Tetsuko began to think on what their plans were, how they could pull a win against what was a very dangerous team formation. "We should strategize while we can, this isn't going to be an easy fight..." Tetsu lamented, getting to her knees and sitting back in a calm manner as she tried to keep herself still for the time being. "Yusaku-san, I think you're the only one who doesn't know, but my Quirk essentially allows me to use the excess of iron in my own body. I can make swords, shields, armor, cables, a lot of things, but I'm pretty limited by how much I can use up. I typically fight with swords, so although I can do damage, I'm not as destructive as some other Quirks... We should probably all refresh everyone on our Quirks." Tetsuko would say to her other teammates, looking to them and listening to what they had to say before continuing.
"As for the other team... They're pretty tough in this scenario. They'd almost certainly win if we simply took them head-on... Particularly with Yumi-san." She said with a growing concern. Though she didn't really want to fight Elise, Tetsu still felt she could hold her own against the slimy girl with her more flexible use of iron. Miyu she knew nothing about, really. Darren, she knew was fast, but Tetsuko hoped she could counter that with her own skill and a strong defense. Yumi, however, was, unfortunately, wielding one of Tetsuko's primary weaknesses. "As you can imagine, all the iron in my body doesn't make me the best against people with electricity-based Quirks. I can't exactly defend against it without being a bit creative, and if I get hit... It'll hurt, to say the least. I figure it'd be best if you guys knew about that weakness... Espescially if you had ideas on how to overcome it." Tetsuko said with resolve. Learning to fight electricity users was a personal interest of hers... Hearing the ideas of her teammights might help with that.

Focus, Fight, defend. Analize, Elaborate, act. Focus, Fight, Win.
That was all that was needed in Yusaku's mind as he readied himself for the battle ahead. It was his first exercise. He hardly knew his teammates, his teacher and his friends were on the other side. Part of him didn't want to hurt neither Yumi nor Miyu, but conflict was going to be inevitable, as the whole sphiel was about fighting for a flag.
Not only that, but he was massively underpowered compared to the opposition. He was the new guy. The fresh meat.
The easy target.
As such, there was no other options for him but to use his sheer advantage in computing and tactical assessment to outplay the opponent. A weapon is only as effective as the user wielding it. This meant that he would have to fight smart and exploit the everliving life out of any single weakpoint, hesitation or misstep. Hell, he could even get himself killed if Yumi went overboard with her electric stuff.
If he wanted to last in this more than the beginning five minutes of pure chaos, he needed to be perfect in what he did. Actually, he would have to go beyond perfection this time around. Even if he were to fight at his best, he still had some shortcomings that wouldn't be tolerated by his teammates for sure. If they lost this scenario because of him, people would get angry at him for sure.
Failure was and is, always not an option. He was a machine. A war machine. Machines never miss their mark. The robo-cat paws sparkled with electricity as he tightened his grip onto the red headband he was given, ripping it off his head. Focus. Fight. Win.
Tightly securing the red band on his forearm instead, Yusaku turned over to his teammates, his eyes narrowed into a serious frown. He waved back at both Rin and Tetsuko, quickly saving up all info on the girl's quirk as soon as he was told about it. "How much surface area in square centimeters can you reliably create without it impacting your combat ability?" He asked, his tone somewhat cold. Out of necessity, he wastrying to suppress his own emotions as best he could. "I also need to know its thermal and electrical conductivity as well as its ferromagnetic and reflective values." The robot added, casting his eyes at the field, then uptop at the sky.
"As far as my quirk: I'm a robot with sledgehammer comparable striking strength and limited electric manipulation. Everyting on a limited charge. 100kg mass, 80% slower than Elise's speed." He concluded, complying with Testuko's request about disclosing their quirks.

Yumi was both eager to attend, and avoid the class that would be in her future today. On the one hand, she had dedicated herself to being a hero just within the past few weeks, the inspiration of her classmates ranging from Melody to Darren in nature all making her abandon the idea of just controlling her quirk and instead looking to actually become a hero in her future. On the other hand, she’d realized during the semper fi event just how useless she potentially was, and as such, left her feeling like she’d likely be dead weight to any hero team she joined, even in a class situation like what was laying ahead of her today.
Still, donning her hero suit in the safety of her room, her thigh high, padded foot socks, her shorts, and her long sleeved, fingerless glove tipped midrift shirt. Really it looked like some weird style of techno fashion with the tron like strips going along her, but it still served it’s purpose. Throwing a jacket over her costume so she didn’t get cold while waiting for the lesson to start, Yumi hopped out of her room and started down towards the training grounds where the exercise would be held, focusing her breathing so she didn’t worry herself too much.
When she arrived, she recognized a few faces. Elise, Darren…oh was that Tetsuko? She thought she heard Elise call her something like that but she was far enough away she could be mistaken. Still, they seemed to be friends so it was a good assumption, and Yumi couldn’t help but giggle as she was called her cheeky nickname by Elise. “Hey, Private perv.~” She shot back with a cheeky smile, trying to put herself in a good mindset rather than let her over thinking get away with her, she waved over to Elise before shifting a little closer to Darren, assuming the two of them would be paired given they were from the same class, but also he was just the person she knew best here, so it was just safe to stick with him anyway.
She offered Rin a light wave, wondering how she seemed to be holding it together so well after having, in Yumi’s eyes, the most pressure on her in that event. She really was impressive, even if Alex wanted to belittle her rank as one of the school’s top students.
The game seemed simple enough. Capture the flag. Before the event Yumi may have liked her odds. She had a potential AoE attack, and she’d been working on her flight skills. If she dive bombed the enemy base with her team as support she could easily render most of them useless and steal the flag with the support of her team…the downside came now from her overthinking. Darren was definitely more eager and faster than her, and she didn’t have the confidence for a leader roll. To even suggest such an idea felt…borderline terrifying with her current fried nerves in the face of pressure, and she immediately caved and began thinking of how it could go wrong before she even suggested it. If she missed her shot or got disabled before hand, then what? She wasted herself as a team member and left her team one short…she wasn’t even sure what Tetsu could do, but Rin with her blood manipulation could probably pull a few interesting tricks and…well.
Glancing to Yusaku, she wasn’t too worried about him. He was an interesting element given the unique nature of his quirk, so whether he was on their team or the opposing team it could spice things up…on her team he could replace her. He could use electrical discharges too right? And on the opposing team…he could probably just make her wear him and drain her batteries, not confident right now in the idea she could fry HIS batteries instead.
Her attention was brought back by the blue band being tossed her way, holding it between her hands and pulling it tight. Her arms coated in her blue electrical energy as she pulsed some of it through the headband, making sure it wouldn’t fry before pulling it around her head just under her fringe. Her Red hair covered it, but not enough that it wasn’t still clearly there. Besides. She glowed blue. It was kinda obvious what team she was on when she got charged up.
Moving with her team, she at least found the budding little competitive comments helped lift her spirits even if she didn’t feel she could truly internalize it. She just waved as Yusaku went to the other group, seemingly distracted, and letting out a long breath as she tried to focus her head.
“Well, weirdly enough, I think everyone must know eachother here at least in passing…well, except Elise and Miyu-“ Afterally Miyu…she was in her class right? Yeah Yumi was pretty sure she was right there, she felt she’d seen the girl before even if they’d not interacted, and Yusaku had spoke of her in passing at least. “So, introductions can be a bit more brief there…” She listened to Elise define her quirk and thought best to follow with her own. “I can generate vast amounts of electricity…recently I’ve figured out how to use it to fly so push comes to shove the obstacles on this field mean little to me. I can also discharge a huge amount at once or fire it in more concentrated, long range shots. The former is more devastating but leaves me vulnerable as it briefly knocks my quirk out of play. I…” She paused, weakly putting on a smile. “I’d probably be best staying back on defense. If push comes to shove and they all come at me, I can temporarily disable them till you can come for back up with my quirk, so it may be the best play there…plus I can chase them with my flight if they grab the flag.” She thought, then looked to Elise.
“Speaking of our opponents though, that’s your girlfriend on the opposite team yeah? You er…wanna leave us out of the loop on what to expect from her?”
Pausing again as she heard Miyu’s self doubt, Yumi offered a surprisingly (for her at least) more genuine smile and hooked an arm around her classmate, offering some playful reassurance.
“Hey, push comes to shove, you can just hold the flag above their heads where they can’t reach. I’m sure you’ll be plenty useful…~”

Ever since Semper Fi, things had been ramping up at Yueei High, to the delinquent known as Daimon Darren’s utter delight. The combat classes were part of that ramp-up, and it seemed the positive media attention had gotten the school a lot more funds given the everything that was being built everywhere, including the new courses and fighting arenas, one of which their new teacher had told them to meet at for his class. Darren signed up for it without a second’s hesitation.
Kurosawa-sensei -- Geist-sensei during these classes, he guessed -- was certainly the most bombastic of their teachers and therefore quickly became Darren’s favorite. He was almost never seen out of costume, a costume which Darren also immediately liked as it resembled the one he had on in some respects: belts and harnesses loaded with equipment on top of a full-body suit.
Darren had only made one change to the suit Mari helped him design, and that was to exchange the OD green jumpsuit for a navy blue one. Despite his apparent brashness, the delinquent could pick up social cues and was well-aware that a military look wouldn’t be in his favor at the moment, so SWAT look it was. As mentioned, a black harness and belt were fastened over his suit, holding pouches containing bandages, venom pumps, candy bars, energy drinks and everything a hero on the go might need. Hey, patrols were a thing. It was completed by a pair of black combat boots and black fingerless gloves reinforced with steel at the knuckles. The sleeves were rolled up to rest just under the elbows, exposing his forearms. He was filling the suit even more than he did at Semper Fi right now; seems like his recent training had his back and arms gain a size. His collar was flared up and on the breat and shoulder pads he had red and black stars, as well as another big one sewn on it back. On his right arm was written “Kinetic” and on his left “Activity” in big white letters.
Geist-sensei quickly explained the exercise before giving them their team distribution. Straight to the point and into the nitty-gritty, just as Darren liked it. He took his headband and looked around, really noticing the others for the first time. He had been preoccupied with rolling up his sleeves on the way here, only realizing now that it looked much cooler that way.
Elise von Eisenberg. Of course he was with the self-proclaimed #10. He wouldn’t say he had a bad relationship with her; in fact, as far as friendships went for him, it was headed in a good direction. She reminded the delinquent of Ryuusei at times and he couldn’t deny she was a good challenge, although he did find her a little overbearing sometimes. But it wasn’t what was bugging him right now. He was still thinking of the sprinting speed she briefly displayed at the sports club, and much as he hated to admit it, she was almost as quick as him. How the hell did she get so fast?
He shook his head. Right now, it was good news, an asset for his team. He’d think about this later. The next one was Miyu, the new girl in his class who could turn into a giant. That might be very useful if they used it well. The last one was Yumi.
Darren had no doubt that Yumi’s quirk was up to snuff for hero work as he literally had the the scar to prove it, although it was almost faded by now and hidden under his costume. No, his doubts were with Yumi herself. Perhaps it was unfounded, perhaps she wouldn’t panic in a simple training exercise, but the fact of the matter was that Darren had seen Yumi lose her cool in a critical moment, and more importantly, he felt her electrocuting him. That had irremediably damaged the confidence the delinquent would have in his class president in a fight, at least until he would be proven otherwise; but for now, he just shot a sideways glance at Yumi as they walked away from the other team to huddle.
His thoughts were interrupted by a challenge from behind. The delinquent immediately swiveled on his heels, a crack of blue lighting showing at his feet for an instant and turning around in an equally short time thanks to his quirk. When surprised or poked at, he had a bad habit of unconsciously firing small activations, a consequence of a life of training to react to every blow.
It was Rin. Bloody Rinkusu Kurama, the 1-A’s Evil Overlord, even though he had no idea anymore why he gave her the nickname in the first place. All that he was sure of was that Alex had taken it to heart and that right now, this dark-haired nerd had essentially told them that she was gonna beat their asses. How else were they supposed to not lose anyway? This piqued the delinquent’s already piqued pride even further, so he snapped back. “Ha! You’re on you bloody cunt! We’re fuckin winnin’ this!”
And with that, he turned back to his team to head for the base with heavier, stomping feet. Fuck if he was gonna lose. “Sorry about that. So slime, giant and battery. I can move very fast and punch very hard and no one can fuck me up in melee. Daimon Darren for those who ain’t know, president of the martial arts club.” The delinquent’s inhibitions were gone. He was fucking done with people insulting his pride left and right; he was making a statement. “I think Yumi and Miyu should stay behind with the flag. Put it in the corner here, behind the wall, that way they gotta enter this little dugout and look for it. Let’s not leave it in the middle for the taking.” Yumi brought up some pretty good points. “You can scout for them in defense with your flight, yeah. I think Miyu has a time limit for her giant form, so that would be best if you did it. Me and Elise are probably the best suited for attack as we can head back quickly if something goes south. Elise, tell us all about your girl, I only know she likes swords. If any of yall know anything ‘bout the other, don’t hold you bloody tongue. The redhead I met before, she steals voices with kissing. Ain’t need to worry about that one too much.”
None of the delinquent’s usual confidence and bravado could be detected today. His confidence was still definitely there, but there was something different about it today. There was a hint of impatience in his voice, no funny retorts, no stupid nicknames. All he cared about now was the game plan that would lead him to victory. He wasn’t gonna fucking lose.

Don’t be late, don’t be late, please don’t be late! The redhead had fallen asleep before the time she had planned to leave for the exercise she signed up for. Thankfully, she took her medicine as soon as she woke up, hoping that it would kick in by the time the exercise started. Chise walked into the meeting area, seeing she was indeed the last one there. Shoot! The poofy haired girl looked around, it seemed like everyone was still talking, so that was good to know. Looking around at the other students there, the support studies student grew a little anxious. Sure, she knew some familiar faces like Darren, the rambunctious yet self-entitled blonde who helped her climb a tree earlier in the year and Elise, the marron haired girl who she shared snacks with as a welcome to their class before she switched classes. The other students she either didn’t know all too well or knew very little about. Perhaps it would be best to go in and mingle a bit, possibly get to know the other students there…at least their names.
As Chise approached the group, she heard Elise call out to her, catching her off guard yet again. “A-Ah hello there Elise! I’ve been good, thank you for asking,” she said in response with a sheepish smile. She had heard about what had happened to the maroon haired girl during Halloween but only after the fact. She seemed to look fine as far as she was concerned, she hoped the other would be alright participating in an exercise like this. The peach haired girl looked around the cluster of students, seeing some others that she knew but not too well. Tetsuko, a member of the cooking club who was apparently very good at wielding a sword. Considering what her quirk was, it seemed to make sense in the long run. Rin was also a somewhat familiar face, having been in the same group for the medical group’s first meeting. She still felt rather iffy about the dark-haired girl as she knew very little about her. Apparently, she was in the top three of strongest heroes in the school, according to Maxi. She would have to watch out and learn more about her in case they should end up on opposite teams. As she was thinking about what Maxi had said about Rin, the female in question mentioned her name, saying for them to have a good math. “A-Ahh right!” she stuttered, springing up and out of her thoughts. She needed to focus, she couldn’t space out in an exercise like this. Focus Chise! The other three students, however, Chise was unaware as to who they were. Listening in to other people’s conversations, she came to hear three names, Yumi, Miyu, and Yusaku. Hopefully she was placed on a team with at least one person she knew.
Chise’s attention turned out of her own thoughts and to their instructor, hearing him explain what the exercise was. Capture the flag…that was sort of like a stealth mission, right? Who knows, maybe Chise would be good at a challenge like this! Their teacher, or Geist-sensei as he was called, handed each student out a colored bandana, either red or blue. Chise was given one of the four red bandanas, prompting her to look around to see who else was on her team. It seemed the red team would consist of her, Rin, Tetskuo, and Yusaku. Chise was relieved to see that she at least knew someone on her team. Upon hearing Geist-sensei explain what the rules were and where the bases were, Chise followed the rest of her team to their base to strategize. Hopefully they would be given a few minutes to think of something before the exercise started. This was all just for fun…right? No one would actually get hurt? There was a teacher present…this shouldn’t be a bloodbath…right?
Chise kept to herself, hearing some of the other students interacting with one another, saying their team wouldn’t lose. She felt as if any comment she would say would go unheard, it was best to just stay silent until she needed to speak. Once the red team was gathered in their base, Rin sat down against the wall, looking quite nervous all of a sudden. Chise looked at her, a bit of a surprised look on her face. Someone who was considered the ‘top three’ could get nervous like this? “H-Hey, don’t say that Kurama-san,” Chise spoke up, crouching down in front of Rin, hesitantly placing her hand on the other’s free shoulder as a sign of comfort. “You won’t fail…w-we…we won’t fail! We just have to come together and work as a team to claim victory! As Tsutsuji-sensei always tells us, we all make up different parts of a machine, it won’t work unless the parts all work coherently with one another, lending their strengths to help support other’s weaknesses. We have to have confidence and believe that we can win!” the peach haired girl said with a warm smile, doing her best to comfort the number one student at U.A, her inner middle school class president shining through. She never thought she would be the one comforting Rin of all people in a situation like this. Perhaps there is a first for everything!
Chise stood up and helped Rin off the ground as Tetsuko spoke up next, stating they should strategize and come up with a plan of attack. Chise nodded in agreement, if they didn’t have a plan, they would loose for sure. The violet eyed girl listened as the silver haired swordswoman explain her quirk once more, possessing the ability to use the excess iron in her body to form weapons. She learned this when the cooking club had gotten together for their survival island challenge during Semper Fi. A refresh of quirks would be a good idea, considering the only one who knew about her quirk on her team was Tetsuko. Yusaku was next, explaining that he was essentially a robot that possessed strength comparable to that of a sledgehammer as well as a bit of electric manipulation. Since he was bulkier in the sense that he was made of metal, he was not the speediest of the bunch. With the first two quirks introduced, it seemed like it was time for Chise to explain her own power. Taking a deep breath, Chise spoke up, “My quirk allows me to copy the voice of any person by means of lip contact. The quickest the contact can be is two seconds. I am able to use that person’s voice for up to an hour before having to kiss them again. The more voices I gain, the shorter the time I can use them for is. If I copy two people’s voices, I can only use each for 55 minutes. Each voice has a stopwatch of sorts, if I use one voice and then switch back to my own, the timer for that voice is put on pause until I use it again. Essentially, I can hold a voice for longer by just not using it,” the peach haired girl explained to the bunch. She had an idea in mind, while be it embarrassing, that her quirk would prove useful for, but she would wait to pose it until everyone as spoken.

She had to admit, despite the fact that she was forced to fight Tetsuko and Rin, there was some sort of peculiar feeling rising within her. Excitement? After Rin's friendly greeting and her surprising statement that the Red team would win this battle, Elise's surprised expression quickly gave way for a grin. "Mhmm! We'll see who of us is the best, and after that get some ice-cream, to erase the salt flavor the losing team will surely taste from being defeated. You better do your best to try to turn those words into reality Rin-chan! Not that it's going to be easy on you~" That was it, a playful sense of competitiveness, that was what she was feeling right now.
However, Tetsuko's words were all Elise needed to find her cheeks turn a scarlet hue. "Y-You better be ready to impress me then Tetsu!" Elise exclaimed in response as she hurried over to the blue base, albeit the little skip in her walking made it clear that she was feeling quite different from normal, something which became evident as she arrived at the blue base and her face poofed into an intense blush. "Uwaah! Why did she say something so sweet and cheesy!" The girl exclaimed as she was practically flailing around on the spot, arms swaying back and forth as she mused softly. "Hehe... my knight~" Of course, when Darren suddenly called out to her she tensed for a moment. "I wasn't thinking of doing anything questionable to Tetsuko during the match!" Wait, that's not what he was accusing her of, he wanted to know Tetsuko's quirk.
"Umm so Tetsu's quirk is kinda like this: She is able to manifest the iron within her blood outwards. For example to make weapons or protect herself from attacks. I'd advise against fighting her if you can Darren, her Quirk is pretty strong, seen her cleave through iron and she has the proficiency of a swordmaster. She's been taught her entire life on how to fight. She's also pretty fast and able to last for a while, not as fast as say you or me, but I think she might be able to outrun the average student when it comes to speed?"
She raised a hand to her chin, pondering for a moment. "However, we hold some advantage over her. Tetsu will never be able to go all out against me, she umm..." She averted her gaze and spoke soften. "Kinda considers me her princess, and as my 'knight' she would never try to hurt me. So if we get into a confrontation with her I can likely get us past her."
But there was another important matter she had to voice. "Tetsu is also really vulnerable to electricity, so she will be extremely wary of you if anyone on their team knows your Quirk Yumi-chan~" She nodded her head a few times as she listened to the others. It seemed most knew about each other's powers. "Rin-chan has some sort of ability which allows her to manipulate blood, so your strength will be more useful there Darren. Blunt trauma won't make her bleed like my attacks would, but be careful. she might be hiding more things we don't know about her. From Tetsu's past meeting with her, I think she might have some martial arts skills, but she also is pretty smart and a skilled medic, if anything Rin-chan is likely going to be a decisive factor in making their strategy."
She turned toward Miyu for a bit and smiled gently. "You won't have to worry too much Miyu-chan, their remaining members are Yusaku-kun and Chi-chan. The former is a boy whose mind is inside a special type of robotic suit, on terms of strength and speed he won't be able to keep up with me or Darren, and I think Yumi-chan can likely overload him with electricity so that we can disable him without too much harm. Although, I noticed some pools along the way. If I encounter him on my way to the base I and Darren can try to shove him in there, I don't think he'll be able to get out that easily."
It was an idea as good as any she guessed. "As Darren suggested: I think our best bet is to have me and him double team onto an offense. Although Darren is a bit faster than me, I don't think anyone else can keep up with him. I don't know for sure what their tactic will be about, but Darren can deal with Rin-chan, and I can likely outplay the others and grab the flag. Miyu-chan, you mentioned you can grow about the size of a telephone pole, right?"
The girl inquired as she looked up at the walls of the base. "I would suggest to follow the earlier mentioned idea: Hide the flag in a less obvious spot within the base and... Yumi-chan do you think you could fire your electricity to the ground if you stood on top of the wall?" She gestured at the walled part near the entrance of their base. "It will take effort for the others to get up there, and the passage into the base is narrow enough your electricity could possibly hit them without the fear of being retaliated, on top of being able to see further on the battlefield. Then all you need to do is guard the entrance to the base, if possible Miyu-chan's size might trap them from advancing and they would be forced to endure Yumi-chan's attacks to get to you."
She turned her glimpse at Darren and nodded in response to the comment about Chise. "Chi-chan is rather timid and her quirk isn't suited for combat, she shouldn't be a threat."
And then there was the final part: "Darren, if we get in their base, let me focus on grabbing the flag. If possible stay near the entrance of their base, I can stretch my tentacles up to about 25 meters, so I can hand it over to you, and you can bolt out of there while I delay any pursuit attempts."
She recalled Geist's comment about hero names and hummed softly.
"Any comments: Private Fanservice, Star Striker, Titan?" Elise added with a playful wink as she had given each a nickname of their own.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The number one student. What a pretentious title. It was a title that spoke of confidence. Of strength. Of levelheadedness, skill, charisma, leadership. All sorts of traits that Rin, by no means, felt she posessed. It was partially why this whole situation was getting underneath her skin. Others were expecting so much. Others were anticipating so many great things. The weight on the raven haired female's shoulders had only grown and grown, making her lack of self esteem and self confidence more and more apparent. As Rin was attempting to center herself and regain her focus, the remaining members of the team actually came to her side. Tetsuko, having faith that they were capable of making the promise a reality, spurring Rin onwards. Chise, placing a hand on her shoulder, commenting that they were all part of a machine that made up a team. A deep breath entered Rin's lungs, as she took hold of Chise's hand, allowing herself to be helped back onto her feet. The robot may have been impressed, could he follow the calculations currently taking place within Rin's head. If Chise, Yusaku and Tetsuko were all coming at this with the desire to win, then Rin could not be the one holding them all back. The opponent team, Rin knew quite a bit about how they all functioned. Not solely in their quirks but in personality as well. The girl had also indexed what knowledge the blue team had on the red team. Compiling the information into understand the most likely scenarios, accomodating for the most likely deviations... "You're right.. I'm sorry for getting flustered. Their team just seems so strong... but they're certainly not unbeatable." The atmosphere around Rin seemed to subtly change. The girl had switched into a complete focus on actually reaching the victory that the red team desired. That the red team had promised. Thus, if the team was to achieve victory, Rin would have to share all of the information that she had. All of the strategies, deviations, possibilities, that she had taken into account. "I know most of their team members fairly well. Their skills, their personalities, and I believe we can come up with a strategy that can be almost flawless... though, if we make a mistake, everything falls apart." The first thing Rin did, was to begin and draw the map that they were stationed on. Naturally, Rin's memory wasn't perfect, so there would be slight deviations. The girl simply rose her sapphire blue eyes to meet with the robot's, as if to state account for irregularities within your own ability. "The first opponent we'll be faced with, is without a doubt Darren Daimon-san... The reason I said we would not lose, was because he is a fight fanatic. If he believes he will have a good fight, he will get excited. Once excited, he loses focus on the big picture. While he is strong and capable, without the brains to back it up, I believe I can get him to rush head first into combat. From there, I will lead him into a prepared trap. For him to buy into the ruse, I have to face him alone, and he has to think that defeating me will mean his victory." At this point, Rin had made it apparent that she had prepared a whole lot of things prior to the match even beginning. Appealing to the emotions of the other team, to get them into a mindset she desired, all so it could be abused later."The second opponent we face, will be Elise Eisenberg. More intelligent than Darren-san, I believe she will be rushing alongside him, in an attempt to prevent him from walking into a trap. This is where you come in. Yusaku-san, if you shield Chise-san, with Chise-san having borrowed the voice of Tetsuko-chan, there isn't a single way Elise-chan can identify that the one inside the robot is not Tetsuko-chan. Challenge her to a duel, make her transform, then reveal that you are not Tetsuko-chan. At this point, Elise-chan will know she has a limited time to find Tetsuko-chan if she wants the promised encounter. Likewise, it may fluster her that you kissed her girlfriend. Use this to the best of your ability to waste her transformation time. The more time you waste, the better our chance. Utilize cover, walls etc. Elise-chan has quite a far range and hits like a truck, so try to stay out of her vision. Bushes, walls, whatever you can use." Rin as looking at them in turn, as she explained to them what they were meant to be doing. "Tetsuko-chan, there are two possibilities remaining. Yumi-chan and Miyu-chan staying on defense, at which point they will not be crossing the middle of the map. If this is the scenario we are facing, return to aid Yusaku-san and Chise-chan in dealing with Elise-chan." Rin knew that Tetsuko was honorable in nature. It was something that the two of them in many ways had in common. The main difference, if Rin was to put a finger on it, was that Rin would do things that had to be done, to protect others. Tetsuko-chan likely wasn't as willing. Therefore, Rin addressed Tetsuko with a simple comment. "We've both felt frustration. You'll have to beat Elise-chan if this c omes down to a confrontation. If it comes down to a promise you made, keep that promise... If they do decide to have everyone on offense, you'll be forced to engage them. Keep them from crossing the middle, buy us what time you can." It was the only thing Rin could say. The only encouragement that she could give. If Tetsuko held back, their team had already lost. "If we are successful, we'll have split their team in two. We'll have captured Elise Eisenberg and have halted the movements of Darren. I have no doubt that, with more numbers on our side, we can take out Miyu-chan... However, Yumi-chan's quirk packs a serious punch... In the middle of the map, I saw a couple of barrels. If we can fill those with water and somehow drench Yumi-chan, I am fairly sure her quirk will be significantly more difficult to use. At least, if we make her think she could electrocute herself, she may be more willing to hold back. Additionally, if Yumi-chan is severely startled, I have seen her accidentally discharge her quirk, leaving her defenseless for a period. Something you might be able to take advantage of."That was, more or less, all the information Rin had to share. Now, finally, she wanted to underline the strategy. "Their team is faster than ours. They're probably more used to combat as well. Yet, they will fight for the flags. Thus, if we focus on capturing their members and capitalizing on a numbers advantage, we could still potentially sneak out of this lesson with a victory...
If anyone has any suggestions or better ideas, lets hear it.. This was the best I could think up, at least.."

Hearing about everyone else's quirks didn't help Miyu's already mounting insecurity very much, and she stuttered her way through a polite greeting to the other two members of the team. "O-OK, Darren and Y-Yumi! I-I'll do my best to remember your names as well..." She just weakly nodded as the rest of her team offered their strategies. Planning ahead was never really Miyu's strong suit; she was much better at just acting in the moment, so she didn't want to interrupt.
Yumi's arm took Miyu by surprise, but she wasn't upset about it. Quite the opposite, she found herself leaning into Yumi's shoulder as she listened to Yumi's words of encouragement. Even if she didn't say all that much, the sentiment was already enough to make Miyu feel a lot better, and she gave Yumi a quick hug before bouncing away a few steps.
"Thanks! I won't let you down, I promise!" She pumped a fist in the air, grinning, but as she heard Elise go over the other team's Quirks her face fell a little. Even if the others seemed pretty confident they could deal with Tetsu's iron manipulation and Rin's blood control, Miyu felt a little faint thinking about it. Particularly Rin's Quirk, Miyu had always been rather squeamish and she let out an involuntary sob as she tried to picture Rin using her Quirk.
Unfortunately, with her current state of mind, what came into Miyu's head was nothing short of something out of an old zombie movie; blood flowing from every orifice, pooling at her feet and twirling back into the air in chunky tentacles. "S-Sorry, I just... Blood control? R-Really?" She muttered.
Then, as Yusaku came up, her face fell further. "Y-Yeah, I know him. He's my friend! This is so mean of Mr. Geist, putting us against our friends like this!" She whined, stomping a foot on the ground like a petulant child. "I don't know if I can fight him, to be honest... Yumi, please don't hurt him too bad!"
"Oh, Elise, it's only uh, half the height of a telephone pole! Like, 6 metres!" Miyu stuck one arm into the air, trying to show how tall she could get, and failing miserably. She even resorted to hopping a few times to try to reach, but she couldn't quite make it. "Still, pretty tall though, I guess, but I do have a time limit on it, so I can't just hold the flag away from them forever..."
She wracked her brain trying to think of anything else she could share, anything she knew about Yusaku in particular, but she came up with nothing. Yusaku was her good friend, sure, but she didn't know much in the way of his weaknesses. She was almost glad, sharing his weaknesses with her team would've felt a little like a betrayal of his trust, even if this was nothing more than a lesson.

Post by Tetsuko Shindou on Nov 30, 2018 3:56:08 GMT -4
The first person to speak up was Yusaku, who posed some needlessly complicated questions to the Shindou girl about her Quirk. ”I have a fair amount of effective reach, maybe 20 meters at minimum. However, I’m better off in close quarters. I have techniques to reach my maximum distance, but they’re not something I can use repeatedly.” Tetsuko elaborated, being a bit more reserved about the specifics. Fretting over the details wasn’t how they were going to win this. ”As for everything else, it’s just iron. Don’t know what else to tell you.” She sighed, starting to notice a trend with how quickly her teammates’ moods had shifted once Rin spoke up again.
Quickly recovering from her nervous state, it seemed like Rin had quite a strategy in mind. Her words worried Tetsuko right away however, as she mentioned that it was the kind of plan that would crumble if they made a single mistake. As far as Tetsuko was concerned, a plan like that was more a dream than anything else. Adaptability was much more preferable.
The first part of Rin’s plan was certainly the most sound. Darren definitely seemed like the type of guy to be drawn into a fight, however, it was from a flawless plan. It relied very much and predicting his actions, and being that he wasn’t working alone, it wasn’t quite a safe bet. Tetsuko was also a bit surprised to see how manipulative Rin was being, it seemed somewhat contrary to everything else Tetsuko knew about her, but it wasn’t too eyebrow raising. At least, not until Elise was involved. The Shindou girl raised her brow once Rin talked about using the fact Chise would have to kiss her to fluster her. It was... Uncomfortable to say the least, hearing Rin so casually talk about using that to fluster Elise. Not to mention she knew how Chise wasn’t quite comfortable with how her Quirk was activated, so suing that very fact to their advantage? It gave Tetsuko pause, but she held her tongue for now. Being told to kiss someone else to manipulate her girlfriend’s emotions was something she could talk on in a few moments, as oddly cruel as it was to hear from Rin. Tetsuko remained still until it was all finished, before speaking up at the end.
”It’s... Not a bad plan, Rin-san, but there’s a few things I think we could do differently.” Tetsuko uttered seriously, still a bit uncomfortable with many parts of it. She was willing to what she had to protect those she cared about, after all, and not emotionally manipulating her girlfriend with their relationship was definitely that.
”Firstly, I think we’d be underutilising Chise-san just having her take my voice. If she took yours too, we could try and lure and confuse both Elise and Darren-san. Speaking of which... I don’t think it’s too wise to have Yusaku-san and Chise-san alone try and buy time against Elise...” The Shindou girl said with concern.
”Compared to Darren, she’s much more agile, has more... Vertical movement. If she slips past them the other and gets to the flag, we’ll be in trouble. She’s fast even when she isn’t transformed. And, as a last thing...” Tetsuko breathed in a moment, before saying what she had to. ”I would rather we not explicitly use Chise’s Quirk activation to manipulate her. You’ll forgive me for being uncomfortable with abusing our relationship just for a small potential advantage...” Her cheeks were reddened as she spoke, and it was clear she didn’t mind the actual kissing of Chise itself, not any incidental reactions, but using it explicitly seemed... Not quite right.
”I think we might be better off having you and I challenge our respective duelling partners... And using the same combination of Chise-san and Yusaku-san to scout and spread confusion between them with both our voices. If they can trick Yumi-san into thinking we’re approaching, or Darren or Elise into thinking they’re being ambushed, we can benefit from the misinformation. They can still come in and help too, while under the cover of that same misinformation. Information... It wins a lot of battles. The Shindou girl has always been a bit of a military history buff, so this kind of thing did seem to have some interest with her, and she was having some fun planning it all out.
Tetsuko paused a moment, smiling slightly. ”Rin-san, I’m sure you can make quick work of Darren. If I myself challenge Eli to a duel, it isn’t much different than if they do only to drop the facade. And it does sound like I’d be better off against her. I’m fairly certain I can handle Elise. She wouldn’t be much of a knight if she couldn’t handle her princess, after all, and Tetsuko did have a few new tricks up her sleeve that Elise hadn’t seen yet. ”So if we leave Chise-san and Yusaku-san to roam, we can cover ourselves well enough to that even if the plan has a mistake, we can recover smoothly. They can even pressure the defence with their tricks, potentially trapping Yumi-san there so she doesn’t let either of “us” get in. Oh, and, with Yumi-san...” Looking apprehensive again, Tetsuko spoke up in a quiet tone. ”I... Might... Have a couple of strategies to use my Quirk against her. Neither of which I’ve ever tried before in actual combat, but... There might be a way to contain her lightning, if I can use my iron to attract and ground it. I can’t be touching my iron when it’s hit, and it’ll use up my supply but... If it works..” Tetsuko didn’t actually know what would happen if it worked. All her potential counter measures against an electricity user were just theory, a personal pursuit of hers after Elise had to save her life from Thunder Shock...
”My other option is to close the circuit with my iron if I can touch her. Then it’ll just hurt us both, but it’s better than nothing. Filling up barrels might be a bit too cumbersome...” Tetsuko had said all she had to say, and leaned back with a quiet sigh, hoping she hadn’t messed up anywhere.
”That’s all I’ve got. Basically, I agree for the most part with Rin’s plan, but think we could utilise Yusaku-san and Chise-san even more to confuse and misinform them. If you still want to try and draw Eli into a transformation first, we can do that, just leave her to me afterward, as I think you guys are better off roaming. Bringing the most out of all of us is how we can win this. But it’s up to you guys, I... Can follow whatever plan we stick with. Oh, and Rin-san.” the swordswoman glanced over at the raven-haired girl, not quite sure how to say what she was going to.
”With your Quirk you need to un, bleed, yeah? Have an open wound. Do you have something to do that, or do you want me to make you a knife or something?”
Never before had asking someone if they wanted help cutting themselves been done with the best of intentions...

Yusaku quietly hummed. He had asked for area, and what he recieved was lenght. At least he knew it was regular iron. It seemed that he wouldn't be able to have the iron girl create a reflecctive surface he could magnetize to both be used as a way to block electricity and a way to stun enemies by shining the sunlight in her eyes. Apparently The group had also decided to let him be a roamer, which in his view was another very awful tactical choice. He wasn't fast enough to be an attacker, he would be easily outmatched by both Yumi and Elise.
Still he wasn't there to argue, and he didn't have any intrest in further confusion. He would just stick to their plan, to what they tell him and execute. So the cat robot just stayed there, shuffling about in his own world, with his tail swishing back and forth at a slow pace. He was actually worrying about the possible damage he could recieve from this. He would need to trust Yojin's skill in robotics or he would remain broken.
Shrugging, he gave a nod of understanding, before turning his eyes over to the field, trying to spot any weird things that the teachers might have hidden from sight. With how crazy they were on a regular basis, he would know better than to trust the field thay set in place. Considering how the teams had been made so amazingly unbalanced, he was sure there would be something else weird hidden in plain sight. Perhaps the water bits were rigged into something. Maybe the tall grass had something inside. It could be anything really. But it wouldn't change much. He would still need to basically enter and exit that confrontation flawlessly. Or he would be toast.

Glad to feel the hug back from her companion for the day and her classmate otherwise, Yumi wasn’t too sure if she could be of much more use to the team beyond that, but if Miyu was feeling more confident in her potential then that was good enough for the red head. Listening to Elise go on about the potential of the other team…Yumi felt a bit more confident herself. The semper Fi event had been too hectic for her to understand Rin’s quirk, but remembering it, and hearing Miyu’s concern, she voiced- “I THINK she can only control blood once it’s outside the body, so there’s no worry of her like, puppeteering us or anything. At least I don’t think so.”
She flashed Elise a somewhat sly smirk at the comment about Tetsu being her knight however, smirking in her direction. “Aw aren’t you two just adorable?~ Good thing it works in our favour at least…” She cupped her chin and started to think. As nervous as she was, she didn’t actually have much reason to fear it seemed. One of the opposing team was basically a human lightning rod who would likely be very susceptible to her attacks. Yusaku was made of metal, again, her attacks would likely home in on him to some extend, and Rin, while Yumi couldn’t be too sure, likely couldn’t control blood if all the blood cells were dead, which made her a pretty strong counter to her quirk if her guess was right. Either way she had advantages on aiming on at least two of the opposing team, so she wasn’t feeling too worried all of a sudden.
Still…
“Yeah, you two double up on offense. Darren? Don’t be an idiot. If things get bad and they start to outnumber you or anything, use your speed and get the hell back here. We need to make sure our numbers don’t get too low. Besides if they’re busy chasing you down they ain’t gonna catch you, and I can start picking them off as they try to chase you. Especially if Yusaku or Tetsu are the ones doing the chasing-“
Though as if on cue, Miyu asked Yumi to make sure she didn’t hurt him too much, offering a soft smile and her eyes aiming to the ground as she rubbed the back of her neck. “I…I’m sure he’ll be fine. He’s my friend too, and I’ve gotten a sense for how much of my electricity he can absorb, so I think I know the sweet spot to maybe get him into…a standby state? Like switch him off, but not off for good…either way he’s a smart kid. I’m sure he has countermeasures for me in mind already, he’s seen what I can do first hand afterall.”
“And hey don’t worry about the flag, if you can keep it out of their hands for even a minute in a desperate situation, we’re all better off for it.”
With Elise making her cheeky nicknames for them all, Yumi raised her hand. “If Geist wants proper hero names, I’m Curved Lightning, but I don’t mind private fanservice. Either those nicknames, or our hero names are what we should stick to. Don’t want the teach’ marking us down for using real names right?”
With that she gave Miyu a little tap on the back. “Come on, pretty sure Darren’s not gonna object to offense, lets go set up at the base, see if we can’t hide the flag a little?” She offered Miyu a warm smile, somewhat hopeful the two on offense would be good enough that she wouldn’t have to disappoint them with her own defense in the future, but just for now focusing on keeping Miyu in high spirits too.
