It was an odd request, about after the stories and ventures from fellow classmates, something sinister was definitely brewing. Tales of the mysterious Matoi and her ability to power up quirks had spread like an urban legend of sorts. And while many were trying to keep it quiet or outright didn't believe it, one class was in the thick of it as a whole. Class 1-B had become tangled up in the story and were now targets of this woman. And if no one was going to believe them about what had happened, it was up to 1-B t investigate it for themselves. It was some basic interest in what they would be doing as heroes in the future, but for now, it was just information gathering. Based on the accounts of Miku, Nyke, and Kogami, two people disappeared with the woman that day. And with the information found out later about them, it was time to see how things all tied together.
The first stop was the beach on the seaside of Musutafu. Now that summer was over and it was getting colder, the beach wasn't as filled as it was before. There were still a few people here and there spending time together. However the majority of the beach as empty. And on the edge of this empty beach in what would be called the boardwalk was a single shop that stood out from the rest. A stone carving shop that sold all kinds of trinkets and gifts for patrons of the beach. It sold enough during the off-season to stay open and the man that owned the shop was often commissioned for larger projects. Inf act, there was a fountain in the center of the city's shopping district that he had made from the stones he fished up from below the surface of the water. He had an excellent craftsmanship for that kind of thing and often displayed his works in his shop. It was this shop that one of the missing people was known to come from.
His relation to the shop was unknown, but the students that came to investigate it knew one thing about him. His quirk was to detach his limbs from his body. It was useless since he had no control over them once they dropped off. But after he received the gift fro Matoi, the boost in power gave him full remote control over his limbs. It was an amazing sight to see. For now those, the three asked to check to the place out were to meet up on the boardwalk and make their way to the shop. It actually looked pretty old but was kept in good condition. For now, it was closed, but nothing a good knock couldn't handle. It was a cloudy day out and a few hours after noon. It was, of course, the weekend, so the students were free to go out and do what they wished in their free time and the three that volunteered to come to this shop today were asked to by the class president herself.

The off-season was swiftly approaching Tokyo’s beaches. The city was more than populated enough to give some life to the area, but for the most part, the coast and its accompanying tourist attractions were a lot quieter than usual. For many of the city’s natives, that was the best time to be there. Less tourists cluttered the streets, meaning less noise and more space for everybody left. And, as one girl had discovered, there was a lot more space for peace, quiet… and selfies.
‘Yep. Perfect,’ the girl thought.
Some of her fans might have asked how she’d taken a photo when neither of her hands were clearly holding the phone. Some would assume that she had a friend to help (which would make sense, if she had some), or that she had her professional camera on a timer (also possible, but her phone was more than good enough for quick snaps). A lack of hands was only a problem for quirkless humans. Her? She could use a timer, and a thin casing of salt to levitate her phone. With a steady focus and her eye for photography, she had no doubt that her fans would love the picture.
The phone returned to her awaiting palm as she started walking. A few people had noticed her magic phone, and glared at such an obvious use of quirks, but she was beyond caring for stern looks. In her eyes, any good hero-in-training needed to get a thick skin, and she had already suffered much worse from the court of public opinion. It took next to no effort to tune them out and focus on two things – walking and uploading.
She was but a few feet away from Dagobah, in one of the many stores tourists could browse after their day of rest. In ten minutes, she was expected to begin her new job as investigator! Well, junior volunteer investigator. It wasn’t on the list of things Emi had in mind when she’d enrolled, but she’d quickly realised it was in her best interests. For one, it was a good way to establish herself. In the eyes of her classmates, she was a nobody, and that didn’t sit well. How was she ever going to achieve fame like never before if she couldn’t even keep her peers interested? She wouldn’t, and so she had signed herself up.
Besides that, wasn’t investigating part of being a pro hero? A small part, and one that rarely caught the camera’s eye, but quick perception and insight could make or break a tense situation. At least, that was what the internet told her, and all those detective anime. Anime also influenced her final reasons. All the best shows had a mystery arc! That meant this was part of the Essential Exciting School Experience™ she had missed out on her whole life! So of course, she had come dressed for the occasion. Stylish as ever, while making sure she looked ready for business. Her usual messy ponytail had been switched for twin pigtails, and the school uniform her peers knew her for had become a sleeveless crop top under a denim jacket, with white jeggings to match. The requirements of her quirk meant that she still preferred summer outfits in autumn, but she was no stranger to biting ocean winds. The jacket was a good compromise, and more importantly, it completed her look! What else was she meant to do but share it?
‘Omw to hang out with my new friends at UA!!! But of course, had to stop and snap because I’m looking 🔥🔥🔥 today! Sometimes you just gotta remind yourself that #youarebeautiful’
A bit big-headed? Absolutely, but if she didn’t compliment herself, who would? She had no guarantee that her fellow classmates would appreciate the time and effort she put into her look. She didn’t even know who else had signed up! She just hoped they would be interesting, and if not, that they were at least cute. She wasn’t worried about their intelligence – not when she intended to spearhead the investigation.
She arrived at the beach, with what she considered a shack in her sights. In truth, it was the shop she had been sent to check out – perfectly normal by beach shop standards, but of course, Emi had high expectations of everything physical. She stopped in the middle of the beach, keeping her eyes on her phone but the shop visible in the background. Nothing she was doing made her stand out (besides being on the beach at all), but her peers would find it hard to miss her signature pink hair. If they were coming, she expected them to come to her.

The sound of an alarm clock going off, accompanied by a wild groan, the slap of a hand against metal, the reaction of said slap - a loud "Fuck!" - all that made an orchestra of a morning - one that would echo basically every day in the Nikinawa's dorm room. A walk of a zombie towards the shower, then a zombie shower, then a zombie walk towards cereal - every morning was a zombie morning for Saionji. Getting up at an early time was one of the toughest things of Yuuei - at his older school, nobody cared if he came in late, so he had the tendency for sleeping in almost all the time. Besides, some people preferred when he wasn't there - that was less trouble for everybody.
But still, he managed to get up on time. While it is a very hard thing to do, he still managed to get it done! That was pretty rare, to be honest. But this time, morning had more importance than just school. In fact, it wouldn't be a misunderstanding to call this a mission! A simple investigation for now, but nonetheless, something that he would try his luck at. Unlike Emi, he didn't volunteer for his - he wasn't much of a volunteer for anything kind of guy, but he was asked instead. The fact that Emi was going to be there did kind of make this perhaps even more fun - she proved to be a somewhat interesting person, and sharing some time with her while uncovering dark secrets of somebody capable of powering up quirks sounded pretty great in the orphan's head.
Since this was going to happen outside of school, a different set of clothes than usual could be chosen. A black, zip-up hoodie with the number "404" stitched in at the back, giant in size - a black t-shirt, a set of gray, baggy sweatpants and red sneakers - all that made up for the boy's favorite style - different, unkempt, street-inspired. And most importantly, it was pretty cozy. The beach probably wasn't the best place he could ask to go to - he, for the most part, wouldn't hang at places like these, but seeing as it was part of his mission, he had to be there! Closing the door behind him, he makes his way towards Tokyo's buses and whatnot in order to get towards his destination as quick as possible.
Oh, right. He didn't change the time on his watch. Well, he was running late, it seemed - but only thirty minutes! That wasn't too bad.. right? Having finally arrived at the sandy shore, a hood is thrown over his head in order to protect from the ever-so-cold winds, and any other sand grains that might travel with it and get into his hair or eyes. With his head down, he moves forth towards the desired destination, lifting it up to notice no one else but his acquainted pink haired girl.
"Yo', wassup." He says to the woman!

The two students would arrive on the beach with plenty of time to spare. They had all day unless there was something else the two wanted to do in the day. Either way, it was a favored asked of them by the class, so it was up to them how they wanted to deal with the trust others put in them. The two were newer students in the class, so it was a chance for them to show off just what kind of talent class 1-B was getting from the two of them. Once the two of them meet up and spoke with each other, it would be time to enter the shop shack. Provided they went the obvious route, they would find that the front door to it was open. Despite looking like it was in shambles, it was just poorly kept up. The person that was taking care of the shop and keeping it clean and neat was gone. This left only the shop owner to take care of everything that was within. ANd in his poor health, there wasn't much he could do.
As for the other doors and windows, they were locked. In fact, the windows on the back side of the building had bars over them to prevent drunk teenagers from breaking in under the cover of the back alley. A quick check or walk of the perimeter would inform the two of just that, so in the end, the front door was their only option unless they planned to break some windows. Inside of the building, it looked open..sort of. There was no one inside the front part of it. The lights were on and the register at the front desk was powered up. It seemed like the building was open for business, but the front just wasn't being tended to. The front was sectioned off into various aisles while the register and desk were next to the door on the left. On the right side of the building were your basic store shelves. ANd on each one were a variety of small stone figures and art. The display was messy and unorganized but closer inspect showed that there used to be some kind of order to it all. And as the aisles moved left, bigger stone figures and statues were on display. All the way up until the far left side of the shop where full-sized stone statues were erected. They were bigger than the students and one could only wonder how heavy they were and how much effort a person would have to put into moving them.
And of course, at the back of the shop, there was a pair of double doors. The back room where the raw materials were held and where the work was done. It was chained closed with a padlock, but there was no doubt that a key was present somewhere in the front. The whole atmosphere of the building felt abandoned. But most of all, it was dusty. Not just the kind of dust one would expect from an old place but the dust of various stones and materials that were chipped away at for the creation of everything here. It was like a thin film of chalk was placed over everything within. It was here that the students had to find clues pertain to who owned the shop.

By the time her partner had arrived, Emi had resorted to frowning at her phone. What had been the point of setting a time to meet if nobody was going to stick to it? She looked up at the approaching boy. If he’d been on time, she would have been happy to see a familiar face, but instead his efforts earned him a disapproving look. “You’re late, Sai!” Hands on her hips, she did her best to sound stern. “Just so you know, I expect greatness in all areas when we’re out and about, and that includes punctuality. You’re going to need to do better than that next time. …Still, I guess you’re doing better than whoever the third guy was.” She tapped her foot against the ground a few times. “Screw it. Forget him. We’ll be waiting all day for somebody that probably won’t show up.” Without waiting for a response, she set off towards the beach house.
Her mood wouldn’t stay down for long, thankfully – not when there was progress to make! In hindsight, she hadn’t asked nearly enough questions about why the shack or its owner were so important, or why the people so curious about it couldn’t have looked into it themselves. From what she did know, she could infer one thing: her fellow students would not be well-received by the people they wanted to investigate. “I get a good feeling that we shouldn’t mention who sent us here,” she relayed, just in case the boy hadn’t considered that. “If the people we’re looking for liked our class, they would’ve sent the people they’d already met to do this job. They didn’t, so… they probably don’t like us too much. Get what I’m saying?”
If he didn’t, she didn’t leave much time for explanations. They’d arrived in front of the store, and she rapped her knuckles against the door. Breaking and entering hadn’t even come to the mind of a girl who’d never had to work around the law. She would have much preferred for somebody to invite them in, but a good few seconds of waiting told her that nobody was coming. Thankfully, the door was unlocked – they were still visiting a store, after all. She looked over her shoulder at her partner, shrugged, and walked in.
It took two and a half seconds for Emi’s frown to show itself again. “I know this place is a shack, but they could at least try to look presentable.” She didn’t think to check for a shopkeeper until after she’d commented, but there was none to be found. Who left their store front unattended? They were begging to get robbed… Not that Emi thought anything in there was worth stealing. She ran a finger against a countertop, upgrading to a grimace as a thin layer of chalk coated it. “Gross. Alright, er… I don’t think anybody’s been here in a while. Unless…” Her gaze fell on the doors in the back. It took a few steps closer for her to notice the padlock keeping them out. “So, I’m not saying we should bust in there, but would your quirk let you pick locks? …No, you know what? Scratch that. I’m not looking to get arrested.”
What were they to do, then? With nobody around to question, their best option was to investigate, and hope somebody turned up in the meantime. Emi didn’t look pleased to have to touch dirt, but it was a little better than having wasted the day with nothing to show for it. Naturally, her attention was drawn to the most interesting structures in the room: the series of increasingly large statues. Even Emi had to admire the effort that went into turning a hunk of rock into beauty. Heck, she could barely shape crystals, and she had the power to do it with her mind. While Saionji presumably set about finding a way in, she spared a minute to enjoy the finer details.

Sai. It was a nickname that he didn't hear much. With a groggy look set at the girl, a wipe at his eyes and then, words roll off the tounge, "Oh, cut it, yo'. I was busy doin'.. stuff. Hero stuff, eh?" A perfect, completely made up excuse. Truth be told, he was sneaking out to wander at night. That's about all there is to it. Once plans arise to enter the shop, he listens to what the girl has to say intently, before parting his lips to respond, "Yea', I don't mind if ya' do the talkin' and shit. Way better than me, I'd scare them or accidently insult, I'unno. I'll focus on different stuff." Saionji wasn't dumb, no - he did most certainly lack in rhetorical aspects, however, getting easily agigated and all that - it wasn't a personality aspect fit for talking sweet.
Inside now, the boy looks around with Emi at his side, inspecting the shop, he cares not for how abandoned it is and how dirty it was - and with the only interesting thing being the padlock, he walks up towards it, aiming to utilize his Quirk in order to melt - or break - the lock with intense heat gathered from the flames forming at his hands. Shall this not work however, another plan would be set in motion. The padlock was the only thing grabbing the boy's attention. If his bruteforcing didn't work, it was time to look for a key. "I ain't care 'bout gettin' arrested. We doin' this as heroes!" The teen remarks towards the Tachibana.
This was kind of fun. Sure, nothing special was happening just yet, but the fact he could work with Emi on doing something supposedly heroic and, most importantly, assigned by his class to him, felt quite nice. It's been a while since working with others and thus, Saionji found satisfaction in this very moment. However, there was no time for heavy thinking! After all, a delinquent's brain can only handle so much at the same time when he's not fighting. The entire place is scanned for a key to the very padlock still - and if not the key, anything else that might be valueable before processing further.

As the students entered the shop, things would be quiet. There was still no real signs of anyone else being around and ay the moment they were free to take stock of what was around them. However, as they messed around in the shop, a few strange things started to occur. For example, when Saionji started to mess with the lock, shuffling could be heard. It was easy to mistake it for Emi moving around, but it came from behind the doors rather than on the sales floor of the shop. SOmething had moved, but what exactly? The same for Emi. The statue she was looking at was quite large. It was roughly humanoid but had a wide football shaped heard and a single eye carved into the middle. Its body was long and thin and one of its arms was a large ball with a ton of craters on it. It looked like something out of a myth but was hard to place. It was made from some all black stone. What was odd about it was that as soon as its eye left Emi's view, it seemed to blink. However, if the girl looked back at it, nothing changed at all. It was entirely possible that the silent abandoned nature of the shop was getting at her nerves because statues didn't move.
And if they paid enough attention, there were two large statues next to the entrance doors now. They too were humanoid. They had large pear-shaped bodies with fins on their arms, back, and head. One arm was completely covered with a tall shield as tall as the statue. One was on the left and the other had it on the right. As for the lock, it did heat up. But it wasn't quite hot enough to melt it away. His failed attempt did not go noticed though. More weird sounds came from the other side of the door. First were children laughing in unison. A small snicker could be heard on the other side. It sounded like something that would come from a young middle school aged child, but a little more sinister. This was followed by the sound of shifting stones and a splash.
In the art of stone cutting, water was often used to clean or cut materials that are being used, so water existing wasn't out of the ordinary. However, the splash that could be heard was more like a fish hopping it in and out of water than it was some falling water droplets. very odd indeed. All this weirdness basically culminated into alarm bells for the intruding students. Something wasn't right and this shop had no one in it for a reason. There were answers that were clearly behind the locked door, but with the odd happenings on the sales floor as well, it was worth trying to understand what was going on. Either way, the tension was building and something was about to happen. Whether or not the students were prepared for it was a matter of how much attention they were paying to it all.

She’d seen her fair share of art, but nothing quite like the statues in front of her. It wasn’t their shape that intrigued her – no, she’d seen plenty of new-age artists with weird and wonderful designs. It was the material that earned her gaze. Specifically, on one of the arms. She had no clue what material it was, but it did seem out of place. Sure, the shack specialised in stone carvings, but nothing about the place gave the impression that it held anything exquisite or rare. Quite the opposite, in fact – she expected that this was where tourists came to get scammed. So what was a peculiar black stone doing there?
“Huh? Wait, we’re not heroes yet! And pretending we are is a great way to end up behind bars!” She turned towards the boy, who had revealed himself as a delinquent! She stopped herself short of insulting him, and instead pointed out: “Nobody asked us to come here and break into private property. Or, you know… be illegal.” She sighed. It was going to be hard to explain a melted lock if the owner happened to walk in. She opened her mouth again to ask about the rock, but quickly realised Saionji wasn’t the type to enjoy the finer things in life, like gems and minerals. She’d have to leave it be for the time being.
She was a fair distance away from the back door, but the silence in the room made it hard to miss the sound of children, straight out of a budget horror film. Emi’s eyes darted about the place, settling on the apparent source of the noise. They were being pranked, right? Halloween wasn’t too far away, so somebody must have been preparing their tricks! Yeah! She quickly shook her head and looked around for something else worthy of her interest, finding her wish granted a little too soon. The statues next to the entrance hadn’t been there a few moments before… Had they? She would have noticed if they were, seeing as they were hard to miss. But statues didn’t move… Under normal circumstances. “…Sai? You haven’t moved anything around yet, have you?” Surely, she would have noticed if he’d physically moved them, but maybe his quirk involved fancy statue-moving! …Maybe. Yeah, that had to be it. Her mind was playing tricks on her, just because her classmates had warned of a teeny tiny chance of needing to defend herself. “Because if you haven’t, then… something has. And I’m not happy about it.”

Saionji wasn't entirely sure what the fuck was going on. In fact, he wasn't sure at all. While he cared not for moving statues and he really did not notice them, the laughing children and sounds of fish hopping in water made him put his guard up. His pose straightened up, and he looked around with his citrine eyes to find nothing out of the ordinary.. yet. While his next words weren't something you'd expect from the delinquent that he is, his heroic side beams through in situations like these - he needed to have some hero qualities after all if he was part of Yuuei, right? Fire dances around his fingertips, circling around his hand before disappearing once again into nothingness, and lips part to finally speak,
"Get closer to me, Emi-- or something." He warns the girl just in case, a little flustered - for if anything startled him, he wouldn't hesitate to fire his Quirk and, well, he really didn't want to see the Tachibana covered in fire. She's his first friend acquintance, and he most certainly wouldn't want to hurt her - she didn't give him any reasons to, so far. The sounds, which described as straight out of a budget horror film worried him - and the moving statues did, too. He was certain that no prank was being played on them - after all, he'd hear something if the statues moved with someone's force, right? Something wasn't right. Nope, nope, nope! And then, he snaps. He wasn't having this silent treatment from the statues any longer and, well, he had to be the man here!
"A'ight, you dumb movin' statues! If ya' moved, then ya' better move the fuck again, cuz' I'm boutta break you in HALF!!" He shouted at the lifeless objects, trying to get some sort of response out of them. Sure, it was pretty weird - but the boy was a weird fellow himself, after all. Waving a fist at the monuments, his eyes squinted as he moved closer towards the pinkette as well, given that he was right next to the door where weird noises came from and, well, it wasn't the best idea to stand with his back turned to it. Whatever was going on at this very moment was pretty.. paranormal, but in a world like this, where Quirkes are now basically common, there really wasn't any telling as to what might happen.___ WC 400

The student's suspicions weren't too far fetched. though it was hard to believe that the possibility of moving statues. Yes, quirks were a thing, but there was no one around t move the statues that they knew of yet. None except for the source of the childish laughter. It was definitely pretty high on the creepiness scale and they were right to get defensive about it. And fortunately, the plethora of theories that ran through their heads was going to quickly be confirmed as the statues finally revealed their presence in a way. However, it wouldn't be the one that Emi was looking at. In fact, some weren't going to be seen right away, just heard. Behind the locked down, snapping jaws could be heard biting together. And a moment afterward, something hard slammed into the door, forcing it to move a bit as if something was trying to break out. Something was definitely in there, but it too was stuck behind the padlock.
Additionally, the two statues near the door took a sudden step to the side. Their large bodies and towering shields blocked the exit to the building as bits of red started to light up on certain parts of their bodies. This was an important fact, one that, if they had asked, would reveal a clean way on how to deal with the statues. As for what was in the room with their to attack them directly, well that was something else completely. Just out of sight was one hulking statue. It was like the one that Emi was looking at, but different in a few ways. While the one she looked at had one arm was that large and club-like, this one instead had a large ball on its arm. It was connected to its forearm with what looked to be a black stone chain. The singular eye in the middle of its football-shaped head was outlined in a red glow. Though, all the two students could see was the tip top of the creature over the shelves that lined the store. While before they were very quiet, now each step the stone beast took came with the sound of stone grinding on other stone. Its joints and limbs pushed against each other as it moved and the stone that it was comprised of ground against one another.
And just before it came into view from around one end of an aisle it stopped. Half of its body protruded out from behind the shelf where the students could see it from head to toe. And with a raise of its arm, the large ball that it held trembled a bit. A small flash ran through the red light of the eye marking as it eyed the students and then with a mighty heave the heavy stone ball was thrown at them. It was aimed directly at the two students and the door that was behind them. Getting hit by such a thing was going to be a bad time and this was only the beginning.

She drew her eyes away from the statues for just a second – enough for her to cast an annoyed look at Saionji. “You’re making me sound like some kind of damsel in distre- Eep!“ A high-pitched squeak followed shortly after the door jolted, and she quickly backpaddled to the boy’s side. Worry was plastered on her face. A rare sight, no doubt, but neither of them had much time to dwell on it. Not when the statues were blatantly moving, and more importantly, moving to block their exit. Red lights flashed on them, and in her brief state of panic, Emi found herself likening them to one of her video games. Like machines powering up. Or powering… on. Wide eyes narrowed for a split second. The statues didn’t have any obvious power source, but then again, statues usually didn’t, nor did they come to life and trap you. There was no time to try and search the statues for any battery, so she would have to go with what games taught her best:
If it’s glowing or flashing, it’s a target. Especially if it’s red.
She raised an open palm towards the door’s guardians, and would have fired if not for another source of trouble. Her head whipped towards the sound of another statue moving. It was coming out from behind cover, and she held her fire until it was fully exposed. Unfortunately, the thing had half a brain, and decided against showing itself fully. Instead, they had a moment to realise they were about to be under attack before it launched its ball. “Oh shi-“ She grabbed hold of his sleeve and ducked, hopefully getting them both out of immediate danger. Hopefully.
“Okay, new plan! This is not a good place to fight!” Too much cover. An unknown number of enemies. Something on the other side of that door, potentially looking to join the fight. It all spelled nothing but bad news for them. “We need to get out of here, now!” She had no idea what the boy’s quirk was, but given how much he loved to talk about fighting (and that they were both in a hero training school), she assumed he could help make an escape route.
She turned back to the guardians. Attacking stationary targets was no problem for her, but what would it accomplish? Even if she managed to stop them from moving, she realised, she had no way to quickly move them out of the doorway. With time, it was possible, but Big Ugly behind the shelves was probably going to make sure they didn’t have that. They’d have to deal with it first.
Her hand moved to face the attacker. A quintet of crystalline spikes appeared out of nothingness around it, and shot forward to return the statue’s greeting. In the eye. Hopefully they would leave a mark. “Keep an eye out for the other one,” she called, having no doubt that the statue she’d been preoccupied with would join the fight soon.

The girls' quick action was enough for them to not get immediately hit by the attack by the one statue that had come out of cover. The large wrecking ball that swung toward them was all but kind as it smashed into a stack of shelving behind the two students and crushed them. It was plain to see that getting hit with it was going to hurt even if it wasn't fatal. Moving statues was an odd enough thing on its own. But to be able to see targets and attack was even odder. Quite a quirk was on display for the students as there was really no other explanation. And with the building being a stone carving shop it seemed like the right place for a person with that kind of quirk to hang around. The real question was why it was being protected and the students were being attacked. And the most obvious answer was that it had something to do with what the students had come there to investigate.
The shards fired at the cyclops zoomed toward the statue's face. Two of them whizzed past the football-shaped head while the other three did make contact. One of them bounced off an indent on its head harmlessly while another stroke the stone cleanly. It clipped the stone a bit but didn't do too much damage to it. However, the final shard did hit the mark. It hit the carving of the eye that glowed with a bit of red. And while the crystal didn't get stuck in the eye, it did hurt the statue more than one would expect to hurt something made of stone. It reeled back slightly and took a step back. The hand that wasn't attached to the thrown ball rose up to its face to cover its eye from any more attacks. However, in doing so, it couldn't really see anymore.
It was here that it swung the ball around in an attempt to hit the two and bring the ball back to its hand. It moved to the left into a window and right, smashing another shelf in the process. However, the second swing also had the ball come back toward the door the two students were at previously and smash directly into the lock that held the doors closed. And then with one final pull, the statue pulled the ball back toward its body. But instead of pulling it toward its hand, it hit the pelvis area. It was where the red orb that was protected by a stone cage was at. And due to its clumsiness, the cage was now broken and its red orb exposed. A weak point had been found.
Outside of the store, the third student tasked with coming along would finally arrive, though if she was even able to get inside was another question. Now that the entrance was blocked by the two stone guardians, it was likely that she was going to have to find another way in. Thankfully, with the ruckus called by the two students inside previously locked things were no longer locked.

Unsurprisingly, Emi hadn’t put too much thought behind the mastermind’s quirk or purpose. In fact, she wasn’t focused on anything besides not getting her head between the wall and a weapon. Oh, and keeping Saionji from meeting the same fate. For the moment she seemed to be doing a pretty good job. Only some of her attack hit their mark, but the ones that did landed a critical hit. The ever-critical part of her brain reminded herself to continue her marksmanship training if she survived – in practice, she could have landed all five, but adrenaline and mild panic got in the way.
The rest of her brain politely told that part to fuck off, because they were a little preoccupied with not dying.
The statue was reeling back. Great. It was also wildly swinging its death ball around. Slightly less great. She ducked low again, letting it fly over her head. Her eyes followed the weapon at best it could, noting that it had broken a window open! A possible escape route, if they didn’t mind slicing their bodies up on the way out. Alternatively, they could go through the door that it had just smashed the lock to – and try their luck with whatever lay on the other side. Judging by the laughter, there was a chance that it was their emitter enemy, who might be easier to hit that any of their statues. On the other hand… It could have been more statues.
She glanced to the attacker again, knitting her brow as she noticed something had changed. It was still recovering, but it had hit itself in its confusion! Another glowing point for her to hit. Great. She was good at that. “Sai-san! Go for the door! I’ll cover.” She outstretched her hand again, keeping her fist half-open. It was as if she was waiting for something to fill the gap, and soon enough, it did. Crystals clumped together in her hand, coming together to form a dense kunai in her hand. One projectile, one shot – but that wasn’t an issue for a sharpshooter.
She released her grip on the blade and it shot forward, propelled by mental prowess rather than physical. If all went to plan, the kunai would strike true, stabbing the creature’s weak point. Regardless, she set out to fulfil her role – watch both her and her ally’s back as she edged towards, and quickly through the formerly locked door. If a counterattack came, she was ready and waiting to defend them, but even if nothing happened, she was sure that there was more trouble in the next room…

You leave me here wondering if I'll ever know How much you care, or how much you don't If you're going to be somebody's last time, baby be mine. “ Hearing the stories of what happened with the other students, Kyla was interested in what was going on with the woman in the theater that day. It seemed like she was up to no good, but trying to help at the same time and based on what Nyke told her Kyla was confused. It seemed like a kidnapping attempt and in the end, two people disappeared with the folks that were trying to take them away. But now they needed more information and this was what led to the statue shop out here by the sea. Two of the newer students had already come to check it out and Kyla was asked to go along as well. She ended up arriving late, so when she came there wasn't anyone around. At least, not that she saw right away. The white-haired girl arrived wearing a sweater and a skirt with a big fluffy scarf. She was dressed casually because she figured this was just going to be some visit to a store to check out the people that worked there. In her research before coming, she checked out the shop's website to see if there were any clues there she could dig up. Kyla was a very business minded girl and her first thought was always on how the business was doing as a whole. it could glean some motivations behind what happened. Of course, when she arrived after seeing what she could find she tried the front dor first. The place looked beat up and a bit run down. It wasn't exactly in the best condition and that hurt branding of all kinds. But when she tried to get through, she found the doors blocked. They seemed like the could open, but weren't for some reason. Did they get stuck or something? She let out a small sigh and opted to walk the building to see if there was another way in, or if anyone was inside at all. And it was during this walk that she heard crashing from inside. The noises threw Kyla into a mini panic as she realized that there was a commotion in the building and her classmates were probably in there. She needed to find a way in quickly. And unbeknownst to her, the method used to enter the building was going to be different than the ones the other two had used. With what was happening inside, she had a different route opened up to her. In the end, she made her way around to the back of the building. SHe was in a hurry now, hoping that no one was too hurt or in trouble. If she couldn't get in through the front, she was going to try the bay doors in the back. A stone carving shop like this had to get large shipments of rocks and stones and the front door wasn't going to be the way that was delivered. And if that failed, surely she could get in from the roof in some way. ”

The attack in the stone carving shop was ramping up, but the students inside were making the progress that they could. What was important was that neither of them was too injured and they were still able to move throughout the shop. Now they had a few choices and places to go. Kyla, on the other hand, only really had one way inside. The front and bay doors were locked. While one was guarded, the bay doors in the back could be opened from the inside if the students within could make it to the controls and open them. All it took was flipping a switch and pulling the chain that held the metal door down. Of course, given what was going inside, that was going to be time-consuming and even a bit difficult. The second option for her was a little easier, but also riskier. It was the broken window that was smashed form before. If she could get through it safely, then she could enter the store. She'd, of course, be greeted y the two statues that were blocking the front door. They were poised to keep anyone from getting through and to attack anyone that got too close. How did they do so? A slam of their massive tower shields would create a shockwave along the ground to damage anyone that it hit. They were just defenders after all. Moving from their position just wasn't what they were meant to do right now.
As for the third statue, Emi had been successful in her attack after dealing "blinding" it. They kunai crystals hit their mark on the reeling monstrosity and the red core that it struck flickered a moment before going out. The black stone ceased to move after that and seemed to go back to the way it was before; a simple stone statue. That was one down out of the three. However, as Emi entered the back room, she would be greeted with an answer to what she heard before. It was lit up with overhead lights and there were signs of activity around. Like the store, there were shelves lined along the walls. However, the space in the middle was open, which allowed for the owner of the shop t have space to do his carvings. In the far corner of the room were piles of stones, pebbles, and sand from previous works. But they weren't what would be attracting the student's attention.
In the center oft he work area, three odd things were floating in the air facing the bay doors. Kyla's attempt to see it if was opened had gotten their attention and turned them around. What were they? The best one could describe them as were fish. One big fish and two smaller fish swam through the air. And as Emi entered, they turned to face her, almost as surprised as she was to see them. The big fish reeled back with a weird watery sound and the two smaller fish chomped at the air. They were alerted to her presence and were poised to attack. They snaked forward, one of each side of the girl to close in for a bite. Like the statues from before, these fish had red orbs on them as well. And while for the big one it was on its crotch, the red orb sat in the mouths of the fish, as if they were trying to swallow it.
