Yumi felt even worse when she came to the final room. All that was there was an antidote she wasn't even sure they needed at this point, leaving Yumi feeling weak and pathetic in the prsence of it. She glanced to Jaz, glad the blonde was okay, but the fact neither of them even had a scratch on them, and were in a room full of devices that seemed to rapidly become useless as they shut down...Maybe Yumi should have stayed with Haruto. She didn't even know what his condition was right now. Jaz may have grabbed for the antidote but Yumi wasn't sure what she should do, just letting out a long slow breath and gesturing for her to go ahead and go back to the others.
Her body was sparking, frustrated with herself, feeling like she'd been useless and a hinderance...at least two people dead and there was nothing they could do. They'd all been played like fucking fiddles and even then Yumi hadn't even been able to play a good tune...she...she just...!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Screaming into the void as if she had a pillow pressed against her mouth, Yumi was panting harshly as she discharged what was left of her electricity and fried the entire room with her energy...she knew she may have just ruined what little was recoverable, but right now her mind was too much of a blurr to even care. Taking several harsh breaths, she turned back to the main room and walked through it rather mindlessly, just complying with whatever was asked of her, but with no investment or restraint of any kind.

Eh? Stop? But, he couldn't stop... Had to, had to keep moving... That man was in trouble, Haruto... He had to... But he couldn't. Of course he couldn't. Couldn't do anything, couldn't save anyone. Sitting in the corner, that's that's right. That was all he was good for. The corner. Like a zombie, Haruto would obey, shuffling over to the corner where conveniently he had left his bag. He slumped over, defeated by the cold, by the failure. By himself.
A bite to eat...? That was, it reminded him... Right. His bag. Chise's homemeade Bento. Oh, how he missed Chise. What he wouldn't give to have her here by his side right now. But the room had poor signal, even if he wanted to call her, his phone could not connect. But her cooking, it sounded stupid but... Eating it, it felt like she was there by his side. It gave him the strength to ignore those eyes, those empty eyes that accused him. For now, that would have to be enough.
And that was only bolstered listening to Rin's speech. That was right, they were... They were not ready for this. But, they, even not being ready, they had to try. A spark rose up, a feeling of gratitude. He could do this. And he would say as much when Rin came over to check on him. "I'm, I... I'm doing better, now. Thank you. I'm sorry. I, I wish... Rin? Are, you okay?"
She wasn't, of course. It was plain to see. Had, had she overused her quirk? Rin, she had done so much, Haruto had made her do so much... He clenched both teeth and fist. He, would be stronger. Next time, he wouldn't... Wouldn't need Rin to use his quirk for him. Wouldn't need to sit aside while she healed all the people, the ones he knew he could cure.
While he would thank the civilians for the pillow they had made for him, there was little chance he would be able to rest. Especially not in this freezer. And when the rescue teams came, he would try to make up for his failings by offering to help- Rin had diluted the poison in their blood, but it would take Haruto's quirk to remove it entirely. It was, the least help he could be, after all.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy It seemed like Haruto was slowly recovering. The sapphire blue eyes that had initially met his, weren't sapphire blue anymore. They had faded to a purple. Yet even the purple color was leaving the frame. The raven black color of Rin's hair, slowly losing some of its coloring. Fortunately, before it turned grey or white, the effect seemed to stop. The girl had used up quite a bit of her available blood. The change in eye color indicated as much. At least, the hair hadn't turned completely white. The last time that had happened, her time to recover had been long and terrible. Looking at a few locks of her own hair, Rin sighed in relief, as relaxation forced it's way through her exhausted body. "Just barely... I think.." Rin replied. Eventually Rin fell to her knees besides Haruto, gently nudging her forehead against the wall with a soft thud, plopping onto the floor. The civillians had come to their sides. They had awoken from their slumber, reinvigorated by the fact that the students had tried so hard. With news that rescue personnel was on the way, they had become like a little group of ants. Quickly organising, following instructions. It was quite a different sight to behold. As the rescue personnel entered, they were guided directly to the two downed students. Rin was carefully placed onto a stretcher, groaning softly. "No, no, I cannot leave without Jasmine-chan and Yumi-chan.. they went..." Rin was frantically pointing towards the broken down doors where, Jasmine had reappeared. Upon seeing the blonde in good health, Rin immediately stopped complaining. Not that the rescue personnel had stopped carrying her to the ambulance either way......Inside the ambulance, Rin had a few questions. Questions that mostly came off as rambling. Is Naoru-san okay..? What about Ryuu-kun..? Did anyone hear from them? Please let me know they're okay. Although said rambling quickly came to an end, as the currently brunette female fell asleep, completely passed out from the stress her body had underwent. [Exit]

Plop. The resistance to his armlock suddenly vanished with a familiar sound and sensation. Darren had dislocated her arm, yet the woman was still struggling under him. She screamed loudly and she flayed her legs wildly, until she didn’t. The delinquent felt someone pushing down on his knee. His head swiveled around so that he met the gaze and nod of a bearded fisherman. A fat guy came too and was resposible for the stopping of the woman’s legs. Soon she stopped screaming as well.
Looking back, he would wonder what exactly were they trying to do, but right now, he was feeling something very different. These people, these regular people were expressing gratitude towards him, and he was not used to it. Usually, after a fight, he’d get scolded, but right here and right now, he was being cheered on. With a quick look around he could see the rest of the civilians were helping out Rin and Haruto as well, just as they were helping him.
And Darren couldn’t help but smile. He was happy. For what felt like the first time, he felt… Useful. Appreciated. An outside observer would think that Darren was the kind of guy who was very full of himself, and in some (many) respects that was true, but this bravado at least in part covered a very adolescent feeling of not knowing what his place in the world was. All he could do was fight. When his acceptance to the new hero school came in the mail, he was excited to be here, but now… He was happy. He’d found his calling. He was a god damned hero.
“Okay, hold her tight, ima hogtie this bitch.” Of course, god damned hero or not, he was still Darren, with all the flowery language that implied. He enlisted the help of a third dude to take his place, took one of the drapes which were used to cover the cadaver and ripped it with his bare hands in three strips. The first he rolled into a ball that he stuffed in the woman’s mouth. “Never know who’s hiding acid spit or shit like that,” he explained to the perplexed men. With the next to pieces he made makeshift rope that he used to, as he put it, hogtie the bitch. She was a bit of a sorry sight when they were done.
Soon enough, the popo was here, blowing doors and swarming the place. Darren handed them his prize with a big smile, like a bounty hunter. One of the cops gave him a sideways look. Medics insisted they at least disinfect his wound, which he was only now remembering, what with the adrenaline and everything. He spied Yumi in the corner of his eye. “Hey, prez! You owe me a new shirt!” he joked, but it fell on deaf ears, apparently. He’d have to check with her after all that shit was done. Jasmine was similarly quiet, although she sounded more bored than anything.
On their way to the ambulances -- Darren knew by now it was useless to protest and that they would take them to the hospital no matter what because they were kids and all that jazz -- they were met with countless reporters. Determined to make the most out of it, the delinquent dragged his feet on purpose to smile and wave at the cameras. He was a hero, after all. He’d better play the part.
