| Tsuki & Giselle "You should just sit down..." Giselle was the last one in the room, making sure that none were lost in transit. As the rest of them gathered their seats, one of the sisters would wave to the white haired boy. Giselle rose a brow, wondering if they were possibly related, or perhaps they had talked sometime before their presentation. "You know better than get attached to patients." She would say, scolding the woman. She would turn around to secure the door, locking it into place, making sure the steel of it all was shut. As the opening to the room was closed, the temperature could begin to drop, allowing them to continue without risk of damaging their subjects. "You of all people would know, wouldn't you?" she said, smirking as she replied back to the woman. Her tone full of disgust, her voice could be heard by the few in the back of the seats. The girl who bled too much, and the blonde with the explosive personality. Giselle would turn back towards her, only to toss a look of disgust before running around the group to head towards the doctor to assist him with his demonstration. "Please keep questions to a minimum, as our time is limited. We will have time for questions at intervals and please do not step away from the group during the presentation. We hope everyone can learn a few things today."_____________________________ The doctor's voice rang in the speakers as he directed her to continue her role. "Well everyone, I am Tsuki Nosagi, and today we will be presenting to you all how Quirks can Effect the body." She lifted the clipboard, the girl swaying her hips with a bouncing attitude to match the girl who had been carried just moments ago. "With-" As she began to speak, the doctor would cut her off, one thing she was far to used to. The man always overstepped his boundaries. When he finished, three large carts would wheel out large mutants that had a white tarp over them, only to hide the lower halves of their bodies. The creatures were comparable to the shark that had attacked the city not that long ago, but seemed to hold a much more different nature. Rather than appear to be animals that turned into large humans, they appeared to be humans that turned into massive beastly animals. The first a large tiger like humanoid creature, his fur matted and unkempt, an ox creature who was just the same, and a rhino who had suffered the same fate. However, the last to be wheeled in, was the rhino, having his skin exposed and all of his scars and wounds, ones that were obviously caused from outside of whatever they had done to dissect him. The group of them would be seated, all for the girl who had begun to get up for some fresh air. It seemed like thirty or so of them, Tsuki doing a quick head count as she looked over the crowd. "We can split into three groups to observe these specimens, you can leave any of your bags or belongings with your seat, as we will spend most of the afternoon walking or standing." And doing so, she would wave them all to follow her as she walked backwards towards the bodies. "We'll rotate groups as the doctor presents his findings." All of it was leading up to the next step. The next action. The next big thing. "Don't worry everyone, we have much more to show you than just this." |

There was some fussing behind Haruto- Apparently, Rin wanted to head out for some fresh air? At this timing? But the presentation was about to start! Okay, so it really was a bit musty down here... But, was it really bad enough to want to head outside already? Was she okay? She'd seemed fine when they met the other day, but... Well, why else would she need to leave as soon as she'd sat down? However, it sounded like she was destined to be disappointed, as one of the doctor who had led them would insist on them remaining until the presentation had concluded.
Haruto resolved to offer his services as a human cure-all after the presentation. Why should he leave a friend feeling ill when his quirk could cure that in seconds? In fact, he would have offered right then and there, if it were not for a voice booming through the speakers. Haruto's head whipped around to face the front once more- He felt bad for Rin, but... How could he interrupt the presentation for such a small thing? Surely, if she was feeling that bad, she wouldn't have come in the first place.
A second voice picked up where the doctor had left off, introducing the presentation. It was at this time that Haruto noticed just how cold the room had become- Well, if he knew this would be in a basement, he certainly would have brought a sweatshirt! Whew! But, well, it wasn't unbearable, and his excitement made it hard for the cold to bother him.
The doctor would shortly cut off his assistant, introducing the first object of today's presentation. Three mutant cadavers... Just as Haruto had feared it would be. But, if he wanted to be a doctor, wouldn't he see things much worse than this? So, swallowing his squeamishness, Haruto turned to look at the specimens being wheeled into the room. Enhanced to view? What was that supposed to mean? But the samples, well... Enhanced or not, they were... Certainly sights to behold.
A massive tiger mutant, covered in fur matted from the transport and handling. An ox, much the same. And third, a rhino- Who, lacking the thick fur of the other two, revealed severe injuries apart from those of the dissection. What... Exactly had happened to bring that person in here? And, did the other two have similar injuries beneath their fur, or was the rhinoceros an exception? Of course, being a hopeless optimist, Haruto never once suspected the military of foul play. In his mind, perhaps the injuries were caused by, say- Being struck by a car, and the corpses had already sold their bodies to science beforehand. It was plausible, as were any number of other explanations for the injuries.
Leaving his bag on his seat- save for a pen and notebook, for obvious reasons- Haruto made his way over to the bodies. He chose to stand by the first body, the Tiger- For no particular reason. If there was one, it was that tigers were cool, and Haruto was simple? Plus, it was the first one brought out, so, if they were going to see all of them eventually, why not start at the top? Standing by the body, he looked around, to see what cadavers each other participant had chosen.
And now, the interesting part, would begin!

Chew. Chew.
At some point Jasmine had reached into her pocket and pulled out some bubblegum. It was her favorite kind - a simple strawberry Hubba Bubba. Nothing fancy or anything like that, really. Something you could get at any random corner store. She didn't bother to offer it to anyone either - people were otherwise occupied with doing their own thing really so it's not like the age-old 'if you have bubblegum everybody suddenly wants bubblegum' would apply here. Her face betrayed nothing but a casual, disinterested demeanor. Her head was raised a little, eyes looking around in a very unenthusiastic manner.
"Something like that," the lioness gave a short, quiet answer to the Aussie, her apparent rival in everything physical labor. She couldn't tell you when it got like that, but for some darn reason whenever she competed against Darren Jaz felt herself trying extra hard to out-do the kid. Not that it was particularly difficult to do - more often than not Darren ended up being his own undoing. Especially now that the fight against the shark dude was very obviously getting to his head. She snorted to herself; he'd probably be pissed as fuck if he knew about her encounter with the Painter.
As they walked along the corridors, seemingly heading downstairs, Jaz had her hands in her pockets. As per usual, she had the look of somebody who didn't care about anything going around her; almost as though she'd be fine being anywhere else so long as it had a couch to lounge on. Heck she might have even exuded an air that would seem to state that she was too good to be there altogether.
It was one of the things she did whenever she felt threatened by something she couldn't exactly explain.
Shit like this was what annoyed her the most. It didn't matter who she faced - if she knew she was in danger, she could handle it in one way or another. Now, though? Red flags were flashing up and down her retinas and it pissed her the hell off. Maybe it was her paranoia at play, her natural skepticism of everything that even remotely looked shady. But she couldn't help it, really. The chewing gum was something that made her able to center herself. To remain calm. To keep her PTSD at bay. Oh how it wanted to lash out and make her feel like she needed to shove the head of one of these doctors into a wall. And because of this she had to stay calm - to ride it out. She couldn't do jack shit until she knew that something was actually amiss. Well, it clearly was, but then again... considering that this was the military they were involved with, one dumb move would probably end very, very badly.
She kept all of it to herself though, rather simply choosing to remain stoic. No point in stirring shit up until she had a valid reason to.
Or maybe she was simply looking for an excuse. She couldn't really tell you.
"They can try. You and I both know they're not getting anywhere near either of us," Jaz replied to the Aussie with a snort, bumping his hand with her elbow as she smirked at him. It wasn't long before every student present plus some twenty-something extras were in their seats. Jaz had been dragged to the back by Rin and so, casually, the lioness strode behind the little Raven, blowing out bubbles with her chewing gum until they popped.
Chew. Chew.
Having sat down, Jasmine continued to stay quiet even through the presentation, simply choosing to listen to whatever this masked person was saying. All of this was off on so many levels it made her tap her leg against the ground to an imagined beat in her head. Her attention was very quickly directed to her roommate elbowing her. God, people really liked elbowing today, didn't they?
She immediately noticed how agitated Rin had become. The girl didn't even need to say anything for Jaz to get the message across. Yet, instead of following, Jaz simply grabbed her hand and pulled the girl back in her seat. Lilac eyes scanned the perimeter to check if anyone was looking. She shook her head, taking a few minutes to make sure peoples' attention was off of them before she leaned in to casually whisper in Rin's ear.
"Six o'clock. Steel door. Glasses Beverly Hills over there in the lab coat locked it. Oh you think darkness is your ally? over there was pretty adamant about us being seated so I'm damn sure whatever we've gotten ourselves into we're not getting out of here just yet. Keep cool, don't cause a scene," Jasmine's voice was cold as ice, ten times colder than the air around them. It showed exactly how alert she was to the situation. Rin could probably tell that Jasmine thought something was up. And to emphasize that, the blonde lioness hadn't let go of her hand, deciding to rather give it a gentle squeeze, "I'll think of something. Just trust me and play along."
Chew. Chew. Pop.
Then the corpses came. Oh boy. Following her better judgment, Jaz stood up from her seat and went towards one of them; or rather, she went towards Haruto. She remembered from their encounter with Elise that Haruto wasn't exactly the combat type. He was also a good kid, so if shit hit the fan she'd have to try to pull him out before he got his head blown off. The lioness still had a firm grip on Rin's hand as she pulled the girl with her, decidedly saying nothing as she kept chewing on her bubblegum. They didn't get too close - rather stayed a good two or three meters away from the corpse. A precaution, if anything - Jasmine's paranoia was dangerously useful in times like these.
This entire fucking situation had set her on edge. Underground with the doors locked, they were supposedly ordered to stare at mangled, unnatural corpses. Plus judging from Rin's reaction after the girl had glanced at her phone earlier, it wasn't too difficult to deduce that something had gone wrong. How did she know that it may affect them? Well, Jasmine was painfully aware that Rin talked to almost nobody outside of Yuuei and most of the Yuuei student body was smack dab in the middle of whatever bullshit the military was concocting. Assuming that one of her peers had texted her and Rin had almost gone ballistic in her I need to protect my friends! mindset wasn't a stretch at all.
Thus they'd play it out. See where this went. And if it went in the direction Jasmine expected it to go, she'd be ready for it.
Chew.

Yumi was honestly a little oblivious to her classmates at the back. Like, she knew they were making a fuss about something, but in one of the few times she’d ever feel restrictive of others, she felt Rin was being a little rude whatever she was doing. Maybe Alex was right and she was someone to dislike…naaaah. Yumi couldn’t dislike anyone without very, VERY strong reason, but all the same she offered the fellow class president no heed as she eagerly sat forward on her sweet, lightly swinging her legs as she waited for the presentation to start.
When it did start however, she’d admit, she was a little shocked to see the mutants rolled out. Both from the diversity of their mutations and also the fact they were dealing with real bodies. She supposed that it should have been obvious enough from the fact they were looking at specimens of quirkers in medicine and all that jazz, but still the fact they were real bodies…Yumi, holding her notepad, cautiously stood up, stepping a little towards them but stepping back soon after, not the whole way but definitely showing her nerves to get close. Eventually she took a slow, deep breath through her nose and moved towards one of the cadavers Haruto hadn’t gotten near, her notepad held close to her chest ad she lingered over the rhino, looking over any injuries it seemed to have pre-mortem, glancing to the doctors a little more nervously. Unlike Haruto, though she didn’t know the boys thoughts, her own paranoia got the best of her, and with a lightly nervous chuckle she raised a finger to try and get the attention of one of the doctors running the presentation.
“E-excuse me. Sorry, I know you said to hold the questions but erm…m-might I ask how the cadavers came into your possession? They…erm…” She glanced to them and swallowed back. She was very intrigued and hoped this was all on the up and up…but… “Don’t…seem the type to donate themselves to science…”

There’s the Blondie I know, thought the other blondie with a smirk as the first returned his elbow. Jasmine’s cheer was short-lived, however, and Darren couldn’t really blame her for that. The whole place was like the set of a cheesy slasher movie. To his disappointment, Jaz sat in the back with Rin. Yumi was fun, but he knew she would take the thing very seriously and he would be left twiddling his thumbs, or worse, he would have to listen and learn something.
The doctor who addressed them seemed like he was ripped straight from a chap slasher as well, what with the mask and everything. Eager to comment on everything people didn’t ask his opinion about, he raised his hand and voiced his thought immediately, without waiting for permission to speak, thus rendering the entire act of raising his hand pointless. On purpose, of course. Darren was a practiced perturbator. “What’s with the mask?” he asked in the falsely innocent tone in which a high school student would ask a stupid question to disturb the class.
Whatever the answer was, the next part delivered on what they were promised in a big way, as they rolled out three live cadavers. “Holy shit! Are those real?” exclaimed Darren, the least perturbed of the lot, a drop of excitement in his voice. Following the others examples, he sat up and walked to the cadavers, cocking his head to the sides, examining them under every angle, even poking at the rhino’s horn with his finger. “Why are they all mutants, though? I mean, they tell us in biology class we’re supposed to be mutants too, but you know what I mean. Shit, was that racist?” he wondered and commented out loud, his voice reaching. Clearly, being around dead bodies didn’t bother the delinquent.
He spied Blondie in the corner of his eye, staying well away from the corpse and clutching Rin’s hand. He hollered at them: “Come on y’all, join the fun! Unless you’re… afraid?” A mischievous grin drew itself on his lips. “They don’t bite, you know.”
Darren turned his head again and caught Yumi taking a back step. Her usual upbeat attitude and cheerful smile was nowhere to be seen today, as the corpses obviously creeped her out. She asked an interesting question, too, so he joined his incisive voice to hers and doubled down: “Yeah, that rhino dude looks like he went through a human… Well, rhino-sized blender. What’s up with that? Were they in an accident or something?”
Like the other two, he completely missed Rin's group text.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Having risen from her seat, the borderline immediate locking of the gates behind her, had her concerned. About to raise her voice, Rin would've undoubtedly, inevitably, have caused a scene. First, the girl would've requested to be let outside to get fresh air, that she wasn't feeling well. Provided they still hadn't opened, the results would've probably been chaotic, good for no one. Instead, though, just as Rin's feeling of discomfort and mounting dread, the whole world was tugged straight back down into it's seat. With a soft plop, the raven haired female found herself unmoving in her seat, a little confused as to what had just happened. Turning to look at Jasmine, the stare that practically met her, told her a thousand words. The blonde leaned in, to give her observation regarding the situation. An observation and a request. The tugging at her hand, the pressence of someone on the same team, it made Rin slowly quiet down. Taking a series of deep breaths, the raven haired female simply nodded quietly. For now, Jasmine was in the better state of mind, for certain. Following her lead, was probably the correct thing to do. At least getting in the blonde's way, if she had some kind of approach or plan to the situation, was ill adviced. Whispering a quiet okay, letting Jasmine know that she was on board, as the research medical team began moving once again, bringing in the cadavers.
It immediately disgusted Rin. The way this whole setup was presented, they were practically given human bodies to inspect. The others weren't really reacting to it, it seemed. How living, thinking, feeling humans were being placed onto these tables in front of them. Seeing their wounds, seeing their bodies current compositions, Rin could not help but wonder what horrible things had happened here. Yet, the most telling detail wasn't what they were presented with. It was what they weren't presented with. If the researchers had brought along a regular human body, to properly explain the difference in anatomy, Rin would've felt significantly more at ease. Instead, this whole presentation came off to the raven haired girl, as if the mutation type quirk specimens, were treated and viewed as just that. Specimen. Animals. Creatures. Rather than human beings. The lack of a regular human 'specimen' seemed to underline this horrible mindset. Looking around to her school mates, not a single one of them seemed to find this presentation strange. That is, until Yumi stepped out of the group to begin asking questions. Breathing a soft sigh of relief, it proved to Rin, that at least she wasn't the only one viewing this display with scepticism.
Pulled to her feet by Jasmine, the two of them rather quickly approached Haruto, who was standing by the tiger. Jasmine had said nothing to him, as they simply took a position a few meters from the cadaver. It made Rin's insides churn. Again, not because the girl was squeamish - she had been caught in far worse situations than this - it was the simple fact that there was a complete disrespect for so many of the medical guidelines. Rin could not even really put words on it. Instead, she gave a small wave to Haruto. The gesture probably calming Rin down more, than doing anything for Haruto. Rin really wanted to open the jar of worms to him. To ask him if this treatment was truly what professionals would do. If the lack of a regular human specimen didn't seem odd to him. To get him aware of how completely screwed up this situation was. Instead, the girl kept quiet, putting her faith in Jasmine's judgement. Hopefully, that would turn out to be the correct decision, both short and long term. The small blade from the ring Jasmine had provided her with, was being played with by Rin's thumb. The girl was ready to draw blood at a moments notice. On edge, yet strangely calm. Jasmine's firm grasp onto her hand was a comforting lifeline. I'm holding onto you, nothing bad will happen.

Three bodies. Five Students. A few dozen researchers and journalists. He knew the doctors intentions. He understood the seminar. He knew why those bodies were chosen, an he knew why they had placed themselves in the basement of the building. It all made sense to him. And it was all fun. Learning was fun, after all. What was a demonstration if none were able to view it? They were going to be walking through anatomy, with three very different bodies. It wasn't to show what was different, but what was the same. They were all humans, or at least all used to be. To him, it was a wonderful display to show that between anyone, they ere all the same on the inside. It was three of a few series of bodies. The first to showcase were those that looked the most different, but that difference was only skin deep. Next would be people who had the other kinds of mutations, the ones specific to them. He had made his way to the tiger, finding his interest with the students that had congregated there for the most part. They weren't hard to spot, judging solely on how old the appeared to be. With a smile, he would begin to lift the tarp, before speaking to them, and answering a few questions. "Ah! but they did!" he would tell the young, and quite unique looking girl. "Without releasing personal details, they were all members of Japan, who had signed up to be a donor when they were young. I believe this one here used to be a doctor of some sort, or an athlete. His body, in addition to his quirk, appears to be in upmost perfection, without a single shred of something unhealthy in his body."His hand would slip, raising it ever slowly as he continued. "Now, it may be odd to see mutants like this, seeing as they are much more different than you all. But I'm here to show you all how similar they are to the rest of us." Lifting his right hand, he would direct the groups to look at the glass panels that all had the basic human anatomy drawn, painted and displayed. They may not have been a real body, but they were enough to show how similar. Pan had focused solely on his own actions, the doctor leaving the room to prepare for the next batch, Giselle stood beside the rhino, as Tsuki had taken her place beside the ox. She looking at the specimen just as interested as the rest of the group. With a smile he folded the tarp back towards the feet of the beast, watching as the other doctors immediately ducked their heads. In that moment, he had noticed the change in the room, the few that had gone missing. Nani was not that far from them, and the sisters will still by the door. He looked at the stomach of the cadaver, only to have it staring back at him. "What the fuck is this?" a device, staring back at him from under all of the organs and guts in the stomach. A body that appeared on the inside like the others, but they had all been tampered with. All of them would shoot out a thick pink fog, the first landing directly into the man's face. Pan would hold his hand over his mouth, while his own throat had the mist forced down. Losing his balance, he would fall to the ground, only to pass out... or so it seemed. "There are toxins in the air, of which, perhaps your quirk may fight off." the voice of the doctor rang in the speakers, but he would be no where to be found. "But it doesn't mean those with you can. I have the antidote, and I'll be waiting for you all to find me. Think of it as a game of hide and seek." Both of the other nurses would be beside their bodies, but sitting upon the ground, reaching into their coats to pull out a smaller, more convenient mask to help shield off the poison. Everyone else in the room would begin to cough and cover their mouths with either their arms or hands. "Life is short, but I'm always in the need of new cadavers. Perhaps you will make fine specimens for the next demonstration."Pan reached out, towards the door he knew. But it was too late. He had taken the toxin in full force. And in this refrigerator, he would take his last breath. "You can destroy the walls if you want, but be warned, you might take the whole building down, or you might harm the other specimens."

Avril & Sunday Mitsuki [The Youngest Prodigy]
Poison gas? No, it wasn't something that simple. Avril saw it before, she knew the substance. She knew well enough what it was. She didn't turn around to try and break the door down like her sister. She wasn't on board with the doctor's plans, but she understood his reasoning. He wanted all of them them dead. Out of all of the countless lives they could not save, all of the friends they lost, were not to bullets, but to quirks. Some of them even ruled off as collateral damage. She hated that word, it would bring back memories she wasn't too fond of. But the fog was something that was bred into its current state. It wasn't so simple as a poison gas. They had taken their mixed variety of plants and had introduced other for other results. It was known as S063, to them at least. Avril ran towards the group, her mouth covered.
She knew that once ingested, it would begin to cloud your lungs, building up, growing into a sludge until it clogged your airways, much like tar would. And like tar, enough heat would cause it to ignite. But Avril knew what was to be expected. Haruto could have easily cured and saved them all, his quirk was useful, but how far could he go? How far was too far?
She had listened to Norigami's words, wondering what other horrors and traps he had planned. Even if they didn't need the cure, how many lives was he playing with exactly? Looking forward, the smoke would continue to emit from the bodies, something dense enough that you couldn't see a meter in front of you. A potent toxin that had killed a man almost instantly. But what would the students come up with to at least stop this part of it?
. . . Sunday turned to the door, holding her breath as her foot begun to kick at the doorway, trying to break it around the handle. She might have had a good idea, and might have been smart, but she was not strong or authentic by any means. The temperature would continue to drop. From five Celsius to zero. Each few minutes it would drop another degree every few minutes. Everyone that remained in the room would be trapped for the time being. But what else was on display? What else was prepared.
"DON'T OVERDO IT, HARUTO." she called out to him, thinking only of the black sludge. But did she know what his limit was? Was it a useless warning to give?

The students had split into two groups- The ones Haruto knew, and the ones he didn't. Rin gave him a wave- He nodded in response. Jaz was chewing bubblegum- Wasn't that, rather disrespectful to the bodies and the doctors who were presenting? But nobody else called her out on it, and it wasn't really his place to say, so, he didn't bring it up. Again, the presentation was about to begin, and he could barely contain his excitement! One of the doctors walked over to the tiger he had chosen- Answering the redhead's question as he did so. Of course these were legally obtained! Who would so blatantly display them if they did not have the proper permitting for this display?
And with that covered, he moved on to the presentation- Wait, was this not Doctor Norigami's presentation? Why were his assistants talking? But, nonetheless, Haruto wouldn't miss a word of what was said for the world, furiously scribbling in his notebook as the doctor spoke. Of course, his drawing could hardly match up to the carefully prepared diagrams, but, it was enough to get the gist! Nothing mattered but the doctor's words, and his actions. Which was why it was especially startling, when those words faltered.
The covers removed, the bodies of the cadavers were fully revealed- As well as, some sort of strange mechanism? Before Haruto could react to this change in events, the machine spurted out a pink fog, directly into the man's face- He passed out immediately. Haruto's notebook dropped, his pen following shortly, as a voice came over the loudspeakers. Toxin? Antidote? Hide and Seek? What kind of sick joke was this?
But it was no joke, as Haruto's quirk happily attested to. As though he were a vacuum, the gas around him visibly swirled into his body, seeping in through his skin. The impurities in his body rousing in response, multiplying rapidly. This... It was definitely, even more potent than the QED had been... If it weren't for his newfound control over it... He knew, he would have died. Even as was, depending on how much gas there was in the three bodies... No, there were more important things than that! For instance, the doctor who had taken a burst of poison to the face and passed out, what kind of shape was he in? The doctor wannabe, Haruto, could not help but throw himself down in an attempt to save the man.
It was poorly thought out, as things tend to be in such situations. Unbeknownst to Haruto, the man was already beyond saving- But that didn't mean his body was free of poisons, which Haruto's quirk was more than happy to feed to his impurities. But, the dose of which had instantly killed a man, how could it compare to the diluted gas in the air? Haruto pulled his hands away, but it was too late. The impurities were multiplying- It was like a click, now, as they passed over his threshold. The mark by which he knew his limits to be near- As well as the point at which he could control the impurities.
But with the gas in the air, things looked grim. There wasn't, wasn't enough, time for the impurities to die, before they multiplied further. Is... This how I die...? Chise, I... The pain was... He could feel the impurities tearing him apart from the inside to fuel their multiplicative rampage. Was there, really nothing he could do? No way, to finish clearing the room, to save everyone?
Ah, but... As he was beginning to lose hope, a sight crossed his eyes. While for most of the room, visibility was low due to the gas- For Haruto, who drew in the gas around him, a small bubble of clean air would form. And who else would be in that bubble, but the two others who had been with him at the Tiger table- Rin, and Jasmine. And, Rin, who... They already knew, her blood, could... His quirk...
There wasn't time to think. There was barely time to act. Stumbling towards the girls, Haruto flexed his newest muscle- The imaginary one, that controlled the quirk inside his body. Black impurities would flow out, gathering to form a ball on his palm. Reaching out to Rin, "Rin... Here... Hu... Ack" A lapse of concentration, the impurities wracked his body yet again. Hurry, Haruto finished inside his head, as all threatened to end.
Alas, Avril's warning came too little, too late. Even if he didn't want to overdo it, his quirk... Wasn't something that could be turned off.

Chew. Chew.
Jasmine, calm and composed yet silently ferocious, ready to pounce at any given moment, had simply been listening to everything unfolding. Questions had been thrown by people here and there, but everything, for the most part, had seemed relatively calm. The situation wasn't changing - it made her skin crawl. Something was just so fucking wrong. Some guy started explaining himself, how apparently the bodies were from donors, yet the guy didn't care enough to even know whether the 'specimen' was either a doctor or an athlete. Yeah, sure, maybe it didn't matter in the grand scheme of scientific things, but to Jasmine that one sentence alone had made it obvious that this lab rat didn't give a fuck about the human side of things.
Chew. Chew.
Things had gradually begun eating away at her. No, this wasn't right. Like Rin said, they needed to get out of there, and the bubbling sensation of something that was likely to go wrong very soon kept gnawing at her like a cat locked inside a dark bathroom, scratching at the door to be let out. The blonde female's eyes had begun flickering from her usual deep lilacs to her notably more volatile crimson as she began looking for ways out, structural weaknesses, anything to get her to calm down. She needed to scope the entire area, to know what she was working with. Her paranoia wouldn't let her calm down if she didn't have at least three back up plans. But...
Chew... Chew...
There was no time.
Pop.
Whatever the fuck had happened, it had confirmed every single suspicion the lioness had had. Every singular alarm bell sounded off in her mind as shit went from zero to a fucking hundred so quickly Jasmine automatically went into combat mode. The pink mist begun spreading, taking a person down almost immediately. She heard the words the dude from before spoke, but at that particular moment she paid very little attention to them. As Haruto went down, the blonde ace of 1A acted on pure instinct alone.
There were no second thoughts. Hell, there were no thoughts altogether as she bolted forwards without a single word, letting go of Rin's hand as the female launched herself into the fray. Gas, clearly poisonous - there wouldn't be much time. Haruto had released something - a bubble of air. Breathable. Smart. But this fucking dumbass was going to kill himself doing it.
At that split second, Jasmine had foregone any type of ideas of self-preservation. The male from before - he might be dead. She didn't know. He collapsed and went limp within seconds. Him being dead wasn't the only conclusion, but because of Jasmine's skepticism that was the only logical one. Then there was Haruto who threw himself into it. Would he die? Fuck knows. She hoped not. But what she knew for sure was that she needed to get him out of there, safety be damned.
"Darren! Door!" The lioness' roar came out, and despite knowing that Darren was definitely one not to follow orders, especially ones that sounded as commanding as Jasmine's just did, she knew that the guy, albeit being a little dumb in the brain, could see how they needed to get the fuck out of there. She then grit her teeth as she did her best to hold her breath. Extending her right hand, she managed to grab Haruto, all while her other arm pointed behind him. Her palm was pointed into the direction of the largest concentration of pink fog. Sparks crackled. Light flashed. Boom. Then again. Boom. Boom. And boom again. It wasn't the largest explosions that she could manage, but it was the best solution she could come up with. The shockwaves from her blasts would keep the mist at bay. It was a temporary solution, but it would buy them time, pushing the mist away from them.
Then she flung Haruto right into Rin, hoping she would be able to pull whatever medical juju out of her bag of tricks to keep the kid alive. Afterwards, she slowly began walking backwards towards Rin and Haruto, both of her hands pointing towards the slowly approaching mist, explosion after explosion halting its approach.

Yumi certainly wasn’t sure if she believed that these corpses had actually donated themselves to science but if the official man running the show said so that was probably ad much as she was ever going to get to go on. She wasn’t too eager to look inside the bodies just because, despite the likely fascinating differences in internal biology when considering mutations of a semi-animal nature, Yumi just plain wasn’t interested in seeing the guts of a person period. Still she was, at the very least, interested in seeing how this would all go, steeling herself for the likely gross examination of the corpses. Should a doctor be so eager about showing teenagers a dead body? Probably not, but Yumi certainly couldn’t knock his enthusiasm. It was borderline infectious…
So engaged was she that when he became confused by what he saw in the corpse Yumi almost leaned in herself, but with the sudden burst of pink fog she was certainly glad she hadn’t stumbling back as she watched the poor man cough and splutter till he just seemed to slump towards the ground, Yumi herself flailing away from the pink burst as she landed on her hands and ass, panting a little as she tried to take in what was going on and ultimately having no clue. Even with the voice practically spelling out that this was some deadly locked room situation her mind was so hazy from the fact she’d nearly been blasted in the face herself that she was unable to really take in the words. She rapidly looked about herself, trying to gather what was going on. Other members of staff dropped low and put on masks, some even seemed to be trying to get out themselves, as unprepared for this as the doctor had been. Haruto was…collapsing!? Okay that was not in any way promising and the desperation with which Jaz had shouted to Darren (at least in her own panicked state Yumi had read it as desperation) Yumi was far from calm. Her heart was racing like it hadn’t in any of the classes at school. Sure she was ‘trained’ for this but she wasn’t TRAINED for this. She could feel the small crackle in her heart building, that electrical pulse every second beat getting louder and more powerful, the tickling sensation of an electrical spark almost making her giggle as it gave her nearby organs such an oddly ticklish sensation.
She knew Darren was nearby, she knew potential civilians where nearby, but her heart was beating too fast, and much like she had in an alley just a short year or so ago, she skipped right past the fight and flight responses..and went right into fry.
She had the sense at least to grit her teeth and try to reign herself in, but it didn’t do much. Her quirk still hit it’s typical minimum potential, a wide area around her suddenly coated in electrical streams of energy that scorched the ground and likely knocked over the cadaver directly infront of her. They also likely however caught one of the three streams of toxic pink fog, assuming they hadn’t spready so rapidly that they’d infact already begun to mix with one another. The blue streams of her energy likely tazing friends and strangers around her was over-shadowed by something igniting above her head, her streams of energy turning the fog to flame. How big was the flame? How dangerous? Had Yumi done more harm than good here? Not really questions for her (Or me) to answer. She just knew as soon as her fear response kicked in, it had passed, still terrified but with the tense straining tightly associated with her sudden bursts. For a good while she’d be quirkless, in this situation, of all places, and as she did every other day, she found a new reason to hate herself for not having control over her quirk, effectively considering herself useless should whatever evil voice was speaking to them have a plan B, C, D, or E that he could enact before she managed to regain her charge…and that was all under the assumption that her accidental frying had even done anything to help eradicate the initial problem.
Right now Yumi just saw herself, likely surrounded by lightly tazed civilians (and possibly Darren), her outer clothes fried, revealing the new prototype suit that her friend had designed her under her clothes. Unlike the last model it wasn’t full body, consisting of a midrift revealing upper section that while still rather tight was now coating most of her upper torso par the fingerless aspect. Her lower half being coated by shorts, and the thigh high segment, her boots, half charred, starting to fall off her like the rest of her utterly burned clothing and revealing the harder padding at the bottom of her suit’s socks should she need to wear the rest of the suit without the boots she’d relied on for a while.
Maybe it was the nerves, the fear, the utter confusion, or some unholy mixture, but Mia found herself looking to the one person not yet engaged by the chaos, and not a possible victim of her sudden outburst, weakly giggled, and mumbled.
“G-good day to try and stretch out my new suit huh…?”

The actual presentation was another curveball. Dr. Mask royally ignored the blondie’s question and fucked right off the room, just like that, leaving the delinquent a little puzzled.
Instead, they now had this oddly cheerful dude, who didn’t remember if his patients were doctors or athletes. It was odd. He said he wanted to talk about what was similar in their bodies to a regular human one, surely with the goal of helping the medical students in mind. Darren shot a glance at the white-haired nerd with the glasses scribbling an endless stream of notes on his pad.
He yawned, opening his mouth so large that he had to close his eyes and loudly enough that he couldn’t hear for a second. When he was done. he saw the doctor getting sprayed by a thick pink gas coming right from the dead tiger man’s belly. “What the fuck?” asked the delinquent out loud. Visibly, no one had any idea. The cheery dude who made the presentation collapsed. He sounded like he was choking. “Fuck,” understood the delinquent, taking a first step away from the pink smog.
Doctor Mask confirmed the well-foundedness of his swearing when he declared a discount remake of SAW was taking place, except this time it involved a crazy masked doctor trapping his staff and random student together. The delinquent pulled his shirt over his mouth, a frown on his face, as Haruto rushed to the side of the fallen man. Weren’t there professional doctors around? Or did he have one of those healing potion quirks like Elise? Either way, the delinquent found he had ample justification to grumble “Yumi, what the fuck did you drag me in?” as he took another step back
The next sequence of events happened very quickly. Jaz shouted “Door!” at him while rushing in its general direction, grabbing Haruto on the way. For all his faults, the delinquent was quick at thinking on his toes and could keep a cool head in dangerous situations such at those. Rushing for the door, right, simple plan, but always worth a try.
“Yumi, let’s go--”
he started reaching for the redhead, the deep blue sparks of his quirk gathering on his skin, but his eyes opened wide when he saw her own sparks coming out of her skin, significantly stronger and, more importantly, contrarily to his, very harmfully. “Oh f--”
An arc found a path of least resistance from Yumi’s to Darren’s skin, zapping him across the chest and right shoulder. He couldn’t help but grunt in pain, loudly. The full discharge of Yumi’s quirk could be extremely painful. The pain triggered his flight reflex, and he discharged the accumulated power of his quirk to propel himself backward and out of range of the redhead’s discharge.
“Mother of a thousand bloody fucking cunts!” swore the delinquent. He had a vivid red scar across his left pectoral reaching up on the side of his left shoulder, his clothes were torn and charred across the path of the arc and his skin slightly blackened, tingling with static. It was a noisy and tenacious kind of pain, numbing all sensation over his shoulder. Darren tried his arm, his wrist, his fingers. Everything worked properly.
He relaxed. Electrical pain had a spice to it, but the redhead had managed to hold back and he was only lightly hurt. It was thankful that he had the quirk and reflexes to get away as quickly as he did, or he would have been hurt worse, like the other bystanders. He darted a couple of quick looks around to asses the situation.
Jaz was holed up near the door, blasting the air over their heads to keep the poison gas away. It was a good idea. Yumi was flat on her ass on the other side among the civilians she had shocked, saying something he couldn’t hear. Judging her maybe a little too quick, he still made a mental note not to count on her too much under pressure. The blondie finally sprang into action, ducking under the explosions as he swiftly broke into a low run in a trail of blue sparks, helped along the way with small, calculated activations of his quirk. His running stance had no right to work, but thanks to the magic of his autokinesis, it allowed him to run while keeping his head low to the ground, where Cian-sensei told them the fresh air was.
He quickly reached the first civilian, one of those farthest to Yumi and thus had only received a light shock. He was a middle-aged man with glasses and a sweater, staring at something far away. Darren forced him back to earth with a pair of slaps. “Wake up, man. Get your ass over there by the door behind my friend who goes boom boom. We gonna try to work some magic on that door. Now go!”
He slapped him on the back, pushing him along in the direction of safety. Catching Yumi in the corner of his eye, his head swiveled to look at her in the eyes, and he barked orders. “YUMI! GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM HERE AND HELP ME CLEAN UP YOUR MESS!”
As cool as he could keep his head under stress, those were situations in which he had no patience for the apologetic behavior she displayed sometime, using her cuteness -- whether she realized it or not -- to get people to forgive her.
This wasn’t working at all on a Darren that was considering the very real possibility of dying of whatever this bubblegum-looking-ass gas did to your lungs. In these situations, if people couldn’t get a hold of themselves on their own, he would bully them into it if he had to. This was Darren’s own brand of efficiency in the face of danger, refined by years of delinquent experiences and the strategic choices one had to make while running from the cops.
And already he could see a problem dress itself. There were too many people to get to safety and too little room. They had to think of something else. Looking frantically around the room, he spied a stack a pile of throwaway medical masks on a table and grabbed it and immediately put one on himself at the speed of sound. He divided the rest into three smaller stacks, threw one at Yumi’s feet and another one at Jaz’s, and began giving them away to people who needed them, which was everyone in the room.
Fuck if it was a solution, but it was better than nothing, and the delinquent hated doing nothing, especially when his day-to-day classes were precisely on the subject of what was the intelligent and efficient thing to do under danger, and how close an approximation of that you could manage to put in place in a chaotic environment such as this one.
And fuck if Darren would be caught lacking in the practice of his classes.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy There were allies by her side. It had made the raven haired class president calm down initially. Having very little faith in her own abilities to manage, if there were any kind of chaotic crisis, it was completely offset by the faith she had in the other people present. Darren might not have been one of her favorite people, in fact Rin struggled to like him at all, but if it came to a frontal showdown she was fairly sure he'd be faring significantly better than herself. Yumi was, as far as Rin knew, incredibly well liked and respected inside her own class. Being well liked meant she likely had a great personality that encouraged others to cooperate. Being respected, in a class with Darren and Alex, almost certainly had to mean she was competent. Then there was Jasmine. The girl that could literally fly by discharging explosions. With these, Rin felt fairly assured that, whatever came their way, those three would be able to deal with it. A soft, content sigh left the girl's lips. This would all go over okay. There was no need to worry. Absolutely everything, with this group of people, was going to be completely fine. What could possibly go wrong?...Well, everything went to shit inside mere moments. The dissection was to take off, when some kind of hidden trap inside the corpses went off, spreading a strange gaseous mist into the air. One of the doctors who had been too close to the trap itself, had taken in quite the dosage of whatever the hell that gas was. In mere moments he had gone cold, slumped on the floor like a rag doll. Even from where Rin was, there was no doubt that his lungs were no longer attempting to breathe in air. In less than twelve seconds, his heart would come to a stop. After that, his cells would slowly begin dying, and in less than six minutes, he would be clinically dead. Haruto reacted immediately, jumping at him, utilizing his quirk to try and draw out the poison. Haruto-san, if you overdo it, you can die! You don't know how potent the poison is! Rin thought, to herself, unable to actually speak the words. Haruto-san knew his quirk better than anyone else. He knew whether he could save the doctors life or not. Rin was being stupid in worrying... Somewhere else in the room, an electrical discharge went off. Blue sparks were glittering through the faint smog. Rin pulled her shirt up over her nose and mouth. Spitting into the cloth, it was the only thing she could do to lessen the effects of the mist. An impromptu gas-mask. Though, at best, it'd lessen the effects for a few deep breaths, before it'd be rendered useless.Explosions elsewhere in the room. Jasmine was gone. There was no longer anyone holding her her hand. Jasmine had left. Rin was alone in this chaos. Rin was completely alone again. Rin hadn't even noticed, honestly. With everything unfolding so rapidly, the raven haired female was completely shellshocked. There were innocent civilians in this room, currently being poisoned. There were doctors and nurses, unrelated to whatever twisted monster had come up with this hide and seek game. Twitching, Rin felt fear and horror spread through her body. There wasn't an enemy that she could focus on defeating. There wasn't a way through which she could cleanse this poison from the air. There wasn't a way she could take down a steel door to break them all out of there. In these moments, she was completely useless. Useless, alone, pathetic. Pathetic, pathetic!! Staring down at the floor, Rin's sapphire blue eyes met with Haruto's... When had the boy made it to her feet...? A bubble of fresh air! Rin could... Rin could breathe."Rin... Here... Hu... Ack" T-the impurities... What was Rin meant to...? In any crisis, to prevent the loss of life, it is important to stay calm, Rin! Step one as a medic! Secure the area.Sophie's lessons. The adrenaline coursing through her system began to subside. The heart pounding in her chest, as if she was moments away from dying, began quieting and calming. The mounting panic, dissipated. Remember your lessons, remember what you were trained to do, and this will be no different. Decisively, Rin slit her wrist with the blade-ring on her left hand. Blood began spilling onto the floor in a rapid stream. They needed control of this situation. Immediately. Yumi, despite having discharged, was still conscious. Good, they needed her assistance. Incredibly uncharacteristically, Rin was stepping up to get control. At least of the medic side of things. "Yumi-chan! Get the dying doctor and come to my side, please! Do not let Haruto-san further cleanse anything, or I fear he will perish." Wrapping her blood around the impurities which Haruto had provided, Rin's blood iumediately began adjusting to his. Copying, growing, expanding. The amount of impurities spread throughout Rin's spilled blood like a wildfire. Good, like this, Rin could use the blood orb to begin swallowing up the poison.Twisting the orb of blood, it took the shape of a fan blade. Spinning in reverse, it essentially sucked air towards itself with it's movements. Nothing overly impressive, at best something like a vaccuum. Moving around the fan of blood, the mist that it came into contact with, or sucked up, was devoured by the impurities within. A combination of two quirks, slowly eating it's way through the room. For how effortless it may have seemed though, Rin was struggling. Impurities were chaotic compared to her own white blood cells. They had more purpose to them, almost aggressively seeking out toxins. As such, the amount of effort and strain Rin had to use, to overpower the impurities, made it quite the draining affair. Sweat began appearing on her skin... "Yumi-chan, on the downed doctor, feel out the line between his ribs. In there, lodge the part of your palm connected to your thumb. Then press once every second, use your entire weight. It does not have to be perfect, anything will help us keep him alive."... The civilians were what she needed to address next. While the poison was being cleared from their air, a group of people in a panic could cause significant damage. So, Rin addressed them."Everyone, please, get over here. If you have any cellphones, cameras or otherwise, with or without reception, record what is happening, contact the outside for help. The more information we have to share once we reach the hospital, the better. Remain calm! We'll get the situation under control." Despite her own insecurity, despite her fear and worries, she knew that letting it sink into a mass of people would do no one any good. "Anyone with medical experience, please assist Yumi-chan performing CPR!" Rin prayed that, among the civilians and shocked medical staff, someone would be able to assist... With the poison under control, with the civillians and poisoned medical staff addressed, having given them all a purpose and a way to contribute to their own rescue, Rin could do little more to secure the area. So now came the next step, protecting the patient. Getting onto her knees besides Haruto, Rin took his pulse, checked for convulsions. "Haruto-san, can you hear me?.. Stay completely still, let your quirk begin cleaning itself up. You'll be fine, I promise."
"Darren, Jasmine, could you two look for a way out of here? We need to begin searching for the antidote, and that fast.."

The wheel of fate chugged to life with the hiss of gas and the panicked cries of those within its pink cloud. Churning thick, rancid oil between its gears, it let out thunderous howls. Those that licked the hem of dresses worn by cowering mothers. Death hung in foul plumes of pink, gathering in personal mudslides within the lungs of those that took a breath. Of course, they panicked. Such fragile existences. A finger-flick of abstract thought away from being shattered across the sterile floor.
- Yumi - Darren - A doll wearing a pretty suit bottled lightning within her flesh and, with the stress of it all, couldn’t help but let it dribble out. Sparking through the air, Yumi would see herself bathed in dancing stars. Tiny, ineffectual explosions as the lightning shorted against the thicker materials hidden in the flammable gas. A branch forked forward, however, catching the shoulder and chest of young Darren in its destructive wake. The damage was negligible. The burning sensation would dissipate within a few hours. The scar within a week. But he’d suffer from a numb, twitchy shoulder for a month or so as many nerves shrivelled away. Goodness knows what would’ve happened if he stayed too close to her. A wave of heat would wash over Yumi, her clothes burning away to have her inner suit revealed like a phoenix born again.
- Pan - Haruto - Rin - The carnivorous gas ripped through the lungs of a man who’d collapsed in the first swathe. Pan wasn’t moving as Rin and Haruto worked their magic to his corrupted blood. Solving the puzzle of what was poison and what was tissue. Before long, their makeshift medical procedures bore fruit. Pan lurched from his collapsed state, panicked agony flaring through him. A hand grabbed the girl’s soft hair, clutching tight and threatening to tear a clump from her head. He shoved his face against Haruto’s chest, taking a gasp of life, an oxygen-starved brain desperate to breathe again. However. While their combined efforts purged his body from most of the contagions the gas had drowned him in, the corrosive nature of the sludge that precipitated into his lungs had melted those fragile organs. No air could rush to his lungs, for they no longer existed. After that initial wheeze, blood chunked from Pan’s mouth into Haruto’s lap and his eyes darted wildly between the clean air and Rin. Recognising that once again he would suffer the agony of death, he pulled tighter on Rin’s hair and shoved harder into Haruto’s chest, staring pathetically into Rin’s eyes before-… Well… He died again. Their attempt to save him was noble. But all they achieved was a prolonging of a hideous suffering. A life was reignited and, through those same efforts, snuffed out once again. What true heroes.
- Nani - And so, the wheel of fate, for now, ground to a halt. Chance passed the wheel to causality and Nani was stood before it all, staring at the chaos. The fire; the lightning; the gas; the blood. All of it. Beautiful. Something heavy tugged in her breast pocket. Gravity reminded her of something. Yes. Now was the time. How quaint. No one would notice until it was over. Wasn’t that always the fate of such pathetic heroes? Was it getting heavier? Nani pushed a hand inside of her coat. It was warm against her heart. So very heavy. It rattled as she pulled out something silver. Small, palm-sized, heavy in her hand. Dense? Or just significant. Her palm was sweaty, but it hardly mattered. A finger hooked into a ring. Nani lifted her arm. Aimed. Smiled. Pulled the trigger. And a gunshot rang through the room.

Avril & Sunday Mitsuki [The Youngest Prodigy]
Warnings were given, and few were prepared. Sunday kept kicking the door, trying to get it to swing open, only to hear the sounds from behind it. She kicked again, with more and more force, not allowing herself to slow down. Even if they opened that door, whatever closed behind it, she would kick again. She needed to get out. She needed to get all of them out. It didn't matter at what cost. She was going to break free.
The temperature continues to drop, however it was starting to regulate around zero degrees Celsius. The vents of the room would remain open, pushing cold air into the room around the ceiling. Everyone would begin to see their own breath in a white fog as it poured from their mouths. At the back of the room, was six doors, each with their own purpose, and reason for belonging. Each one presenting different puzzles and problems. All of them unknown to either of the white haired girls. Avril had begun to understand what had been going on, and why everything was prepared on how it was. She continued to run at the blonde nurse, Giselle was locked in her sights. She had the key to the door, and was the only thing in her way.
"YOU STUPID COUGAR BITCH!" she would say, before lunging at the woman that crouched to the ground, her face covered. The air had been cleaned by the students, and with it, the looming threat of the toxin was no longer there, but freezing to death still was. The people had already begun to take out their phones, some of them fumbling and dropping them, while others shook in an effort to move their cold hands to use their phones. As the woman yelled, a few cameras turned to face her, just as a few turned to follow the girl and the life she was trying to save. Her foot would slide across the ground until it lifted up to crash into the woman's perfect face. Giselle knew what she did, and Avril was going to let her-
Bang.
She swung around to the sound. She saw the girl with her arm lifted, and at the end of it a gun. But it wasn't pointed at the students. It wasn't pointed at the others. It wasn't pointed at Avril. Instead, she fired her gun at-
"SUNDAY!" she called out, her own heart torn, looking towards her sister. The door covered in the familiar liquid. The bits and pieces of her that were no longer connected. She was dead, and so was Pan. They were a few the doctor didn't trust, and probably for a good reason. An event, that no phone had caught, only the aftermath. The people would awe and speak among themselves in fear. Help me. Some would say. We're all going to die. others would think. But it was all put to ease, when a voice reassured them.
"Now now, everyone, calm down. With any more time spent in that room you will all surely freeze to death. That's no good. Don't worry about saving them. They're just collateral damage." laughter from behind the speakers filled the room of all of them. It was clear whose side the sisters were on, as well as the girl who wore glasses. But what of the others? Could they be trusted? Could any of them be trusted?
"Six doors lay ahead of you. Split up, or stay together, the choice is yours. But I warn, some of my little tests, only one of you can solve." Laughter again. It was a cheesy horror film, but now it was reality. But was this one that ended with the heroes winning, or the murderer getting away with it again? After all, even if they tried to call now, there was no longer signal. But what had cut them off?
