Not all stories start at the beginning. Some start in the middle, and few start at the end. This is not a story about a girl who wanted to be a hero. This is not a story about how a man adopted a lonely girl and gave her a home. This is not a tale of how someone who had so much evil done to her, had become good. No, this is a story of how one woman, ruined the lives of many. This is not a tale of redemption. This story does not have an end, and if it did, it would not be a happy one. After all, not everyone lives a happy life. . . . . . She walked from the flames, her face was wet with tears. It was perhaps the only life she took, that she regretted. But even that was wrong. It was not a single life, it was the lives of many. All of them spilled their blood. All of them died at her hands. And her hands were covered in all of their blood. Her sleeves were soaked with the fluid, as the girl cried at what she had done. But it was not her wish. It was theirs. They asked for it. They asked for death. They all begged for it, and so they were ail murdered and slain at her hands. They were all she had left. She had no family. She no longer had a father. She was an orphan to the world once more. The loneliness that haunted her, would always be her demon. While to her spirit, she was the demon. ____________________ It was like any other day. The clouds hung high and the sun was shining. She dawned the same white dress shirt and black slacks she commonly wore for work. She was going to head back to Ketsujo Corp, to meet with Sato to find answers to what happened to her. She needed to know what the real reason was. But before she did, she wanted to meet with Grandmaster Seki, for his opinion on the matter. She smiled, opening the doors to the brothel. It was late in the morning, and Kasey had finished up her work a bit early. She would open the door to find the man sitting in his favorite chair, a book in his lap, and his face rested upon his fist as he stared at the pages. He may have been an old man, but he was more active than any other elderly person she knew of, granted she knew few. "Master Seki!" she would call out to him, waving excitedly towards him. "You won't believe what happened to me last week."____________________ The sounds of the building burning down, the crackling and the popping of the wood. She could hear the screams, if only all of the bodies weren't already dead. In the distance, she could hear nothing but silence. The smoke was white, for now at least. She looked back one final time before walking around the corner to get into her black car. It was parked closeby, but she never planned to actually have to use the getaway car to well, get away. She started the engine, the blood covering the wheel, the day replying over and over in her mind. She could see the bus returning, and she immediately spun the car around to head in the opposite direction. There was no going back, not anymore. There was nothing to go back to. She didn't just lose everything she had, she took it away from someone else too. But could she ever understand? . . . would she remember too? ____________________ "My child, Kasey." the old man man smiled from underneath all of the obsidian colored cloth. He was wrapped head to toe, much like a modern mummy. Kasey had seen and spoke with him enough, that even without seeing his expressions, she would see and understand exactly how he felt. The old man, knew her, however, more than she would ever learn about himself, or herself. He was a man shrouded in more mysteries than perhaps even that man who controlled Lighting at his fingertips. He was a pawn compared to the king that hide himself behind a brothel. His own quirk, was hidden, forgotten... "Masta Seki, I'm sorry I didn't come by for a while. I was kidna-""I know, Kasey." the old man would answer, "Seki sees everything, eventually." he would tell her. "Did you forget that I am watching over you?" The man asked, his aged voice lingering, but unbroken. It was like an old weathered string that had refused to snap or break. "But then, why did no one come to save me?" Kasey asked, her plans had turned completely around. Had had known all along? Why did no one come to save her? Why was no one around to- "Because, you did not need saving. If anyone needed someone to rescue them, it was your captors, from you." he would give off a laugh. "I have seen your horrors, not from just your eyes." He would tell her. "But you can remember what I do, right?" He would tell her, unsure of what his quirk had really done to her and the others. His time was long passed. The building was silent, quiet almost. Seki reached out to her, trying to bring her closer to him. Kasey would shyly sit beside him onto the floor, listening. "I have the powers to take your memories, if you allow me to. But it does not mean I cannot see what else goes on." he would tell her, "What you forget, I will always remember. Your memories are my dreams, Kasey. I have made a pretty penny with my powers, but it's coming to a time where I can no longer bear this pain." he would look to her, taking the back of his fingers to lightly touch the girl's face. She was the closest thing he had to a daughter, besides the little girl he had adopted long ago. But still, with her own dreams, she was willing to hear the tales. She was able to clean the mess he had made. "I've seen the reason you were taken, and I've seen what they've done to you." he would tell her, "I've been hiding this from you." The man would grow weaker with each word, his own kindness was biting his rear. But the girl did not yell. She did not shout. She sat, waiting, confused. She loved him as her own father. "Leviathan, Marona, Yukiro, Chisuhuashi, Xiaowei. All of them can no longer remember their painful pasts, but you have never asked me to remove your pains." he went on, "You overcame them. I thought I was doing everyone a favor, but I only clean the consciousness of the tainted. So Kasey, please, kill me. reclaim what was lost. Don't allow me to live this life anymore. I don-""Seki, I can't." She would tell the old man. "You've seen what I am. I cannot kill those who are good. I can only consume those who are evi-"he lifted his hand to place his fingers over her lips, silencing her. "Then do not consume me. I am not asking you to remove me. But end my life, so no one may use me again for evil.". . . The bones had pierced her skin, nothing more than claws that had grown too long. She had slit his throat as a smile was on his face. Each and every girl in that building did not scream in terror, but in glee. They wanted their death. Without Seki, they were nothing. They were broken girls without a place to go. Kasey had carried out his wishes, only to find a new consequence. Memories. Everything she had offered to Seki long ago, she was beginning to remember. Cherry, her home. Her parents. Her life. The torture, the faces. She was told the truth by a man who held everyone's dark secrets. From her mind, she saw what it had become. "Ketsujo Corp was behind this from the beginning." she said, her hands covered in blood. She walked down the halls of the building, punching holes in the wall to pull the piping to try and bend it, exposing the gasses. "Sato was the reason we all suffered." she began. She would walk down each room, each of the bloodied bodies reminding her of what she had done with her life. She begun to weep as she tried to wake from her nightmare, but it was reality. "I have to destroy everything." she said to herself. "No, we only have to destroy the Corporation. Now we know who, but now we must find out why/" The voice pleaded with reason as the girl reached for the matches. She was going to burn everything down. She no longer had anything else to lose. ~ Word Count: 1501 ~ |

. . . . It was an adventure. One that was filled with water and enjoyment. It was just class 1A and the driver sent to enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon. She invited Maxi, and while he was sour about most of it, she still enjoyed herself. But the smell of the smoke, the strange feeling that everything was wrong, had filled her heart. Out of habit, she had asked him to walk her home. It wasn't like her father didn't hate him, he actually kinda liked him strangely enough, even if he didn't appear to mean it. Levi couldn't help but look at the ground as she held his hand, leading him around the corner, the smell of a fire near. She looked up, and saw the white smoke, only for it to turn into a black fog. She peeked around the corner to find the building in flames, the roof had already caved in. She didn't know he was still inside, if any of them were inside. Were they dead? Were they all dead. "NO NO NO NO NO!!" She would release the boy's hand to run towards the building. She needed to go inside. She needed to see, she needed to stop it. But from within, small explosions would be heard. Levi knew about the piping, the gas lines, the clogs, and the storage. To try and enter that home was like trying to enter a minefield. At any time she could have been blown up. At any time she could have died. Maxi could throw ice, he could try to chill it, but it wouldn't save any lives. By the time it was chilled, they would all be burned. There was no screams, there was no cries for help. Levi fell to her knees. She didn't have a quirk that could save them. She didn- ". . . You hear that Ayase? This is our home now!" the figure spoke to her, close to her. She saw the vision. It played in her mind. She was held, carried in a single arm of the man, but his face, as always could not be seen. "We'll be safe here. No one will find us here!" The man said to her again, his hand reaching to her face, a hand that would have covered her entire face. She was small, a child. . . a baby. . . . . . She begun to weep, she begun to cry. "I don't understand." she said to herself. She begun to watch them all play in the back of her mind, all of it blurred, mixed and out of order. The man that held her memories was dead. She was going to remember who she really was. She was going to remember what really happened. The truth. . . ~ 469~

Yeah, it might have been a huge bother to actually have to tolerate the entirety of 1-A during a whole trip, though it became tolerable when he was with Levi, his dear oh dear Levi. Watching her do stuff, try out her Bikini, join her on her shenhanigans or just get scolded for being such a sour asshole. Every moment he spent with her was like no other, it was always a memory for him to keep deeply locked within his heart, to be forever cherished. She was the little core to the entire structure of his life's joy at this point, without her, or hell, if somehow she were to be hurt, he would be severely hurt, emotionally, though deeply so.
His endurance would be tested this night, as he quietly walked with the girl of his dreams, his tanned, cold hand holding tight onto her warmer one, he felt bad. A bad feeling of a kind that tells someone that something bad is happening, bringing the worst results possible: he was incredibly sensitive to heat so, when he felt even a small, suspicious fringe of it as he got closer to the destination which so happened to be the brothel where Levi and her surprisingly friendly dad lived, Maximillian couldn't help but feel a sense of dread ever so slowly creeping up his spine, foreshadowing that screamed of danger of what was to come.
It was the worst possible outcome: As they turned the corner, to finally find the brothel, the smell of fire got stronger, white smoke becoming black. God no, the brothel was burning, engulfed in what could only be described as life-ending gouts of flame that gained intensity horrifyingly fast..!
His hand was released by the one he loved most as she desperately tried to find a way inside of the burning building, which only served to add to his shocked state. Even then, even in this danger where anyone sane should run away, she wanted to go in..? 'Course she wanted to go in, it's her family.. and since it's her family, it's his family as well!
Quickly sending a S.O.S signal to the nearby Fire Department, Maximillian began sprinting towards the burning building, sliding his phone back in his pocket. He had stuff to do. Those golden eyes of his gained their strongest shine yet, the cold that was picking up around him was already strong enough to bite at his hands, signs of what he was getting ready to release was nothing short of greatly dangerous to his safety.
"THAT'S MY LOVE'S HOME!" A scream to no one in particular but himself, a forceful reminder to his cowardly body that continued to reject his desire to release that amount of energy, to create that amount of ice when he is surrounded by such great heat. What he was doing was something that, obviously, could only be reserved for someone as important to him as Leviathan.
His eyes glanced quietly to her for a second, seeing her begin to weep and cry for the second time since they got together: the first one being when she was taken by what he assumed were hallucinations haunting her, this time, the destruction of all that she loved. Back to the building. From his hands, through gritted teeth, a few pellets shot out towards the building, that soon became tens, dozens and, soon, hundreds. Hundreds upon hundreds of small ice pellets shot out continuously towards the building, melting soon after going in and helping to quiet down the flames.
The first few hundred came without much complaining. The next few hundred, even if they were pellets, were still bordering on his limit of ice, his fingers already growing red. "For her.." He muttered to himself, focusing the organ deep within his chest. To offset the coldening of his skin and make the area around him colder for more pellets, he grit his teeth and activated a long unused skill --MaxiMuhn Freshet Drive--, heating up his skin, while releasing a cold mist around him. Roaring with tremendous fury, he released the last burst of pellets, the most he had ever released, the strain upon him revealing the veins on his hands and forearms, making them throb for a while until the fire lost so much of its power it simply went out by itself.
His first real opponent, where he gave it his all. His body finally eased up again, his Drive cancelling itself. He was not deeply frostbitten, but he might as well be. As tired as he was, with almost no energy to even stay up, he moved his body slowly to Levi, falling to his knees and wrapping his arms around her, to give her comfort.

His arms wrapped around her, an embrace from someone so close, but so far away. She hated him. She hated who he was, what he came from. He didn't understand pain, he didn't care to understand. He was papered, rich, wealthy. He never had to suffer. His parents were lawyers. They were smart, educated, they were . . . _______________ "Mom? Mom, dad's not waking up. Are you sleeping too?" Her tiny pale hands shook the woman as she laid on the ground. The white porcelain cup still in her hands as the tea was poured onto the ground. Her father had begun to smell of a horrid scent, and her mother had grown cold to the touch. She held onto the woman's body, something she refused to acknowledge was empty. There was no longer a soul that was held into that vessel. It was empty, just like her home, just like the rest of her life. Leviathan laid her head onto the woman's side, crying into her sweater as she waited for her mother to wake up. But she would never wake up. She would learn to love the cold carcass of a woman that used to be. _______________ She reached up to his arms, a feeling that was familiar, but one that housed a memory she was unsure of why she forgot. Her eyes were fixed on the burned home, even if it wasn't in flames, the inside of it was charred, burned and destroyed. The frame stood, and perhaps there was enough for her to salvage as her own. She thought of her own personal belongings, gifts, the guitar, the mandolin, the other instruments in her father's possession. "Why would..."Why would anyone do such a thing? Seki was a man that promised lonely men a good time with the many girls. He was a man that removed torturous times from people to try and help them live a better life. Seki, whoever had done this, could have stopped them, or it. He would have known. He had lived for so long. But what of the girls? Did they do it? Why didn't they speak up? What did... Right. That was why she was seeing the visions now, why she heard them before on the way home. That was why. The building had been burning down, they were all dead, she was sure of it. That was why she was remembering. It was why she was learning her truth. "They're all dead." she said to herself, looking at the burned estate, hearing the falling of the structure as it began to fall into itself. "I don't have a home anymore." she spoke, watching over it. Why did not a single person come to help out? Where was everyone? Why was the fire department not called before? Why did no one help... "I don't have anything." She watched, a brothel stuck in a village of abandoned buildings full of squatters and the homeless. A few blocks away from the nearest corner store and restaurant. A business hidden away, tucked away in secret. Love hotels were always cared for, but why not this one? Why did no one care for him? Why did not one person try to help... "I never had anything."The touch of a cold dead body, was no different than the embrace of her lover. In this world, she was always going to be an orphan. But she would always have a family. ~ 578 ~

His arms that refused to let go, his consciousness that refused to simply fade away, his body pushed through every single ounce of fatigue so that he could stay with her, even if he didn't even hold energy within himself to even speak properly anymore. Just little gasps for air, from a boy who was already that winded. His legs couldn't move anymore, his torso barely held itself up, just enough as to not burden her too much with his hug. Any more and he might just actually be supporting himself on her.
Prior to entering U.A, he had no idea of what true loss was. His life had been so very comfortable, surrounded by his parents who loved him dearly, anime and videogames that filled his nothing hours with nothing but joy and fun. Ice Cream that constantly made his tastebuds happy and, when he was feeling particularly energetic, he even used his quirk to play around, then slept for a whole day! Life was so simple then, why couldn't it be simple now!?
He was defeated once, defeated twice with a horrible humiliation. He was exposed to the first time he actually truly hated, he was faced with how it felt to be betrayed by a friend, he was faced with having to cope with night terrors, jealously, feelings of inadequacy, among others. On top of all this, there always were his usual insecurities with his quirk, his complex with the need to be touched and to feel loved.
Through this all, he had never lost his worldview, on living a quiet and simple life, of having no responsibilities. A wholesome life without true issues, visions crumbled just as badly as the house of the one he loved.
Her defeated attitude, face and even voice, simple glimpses at her suffering through everything the person told him. The sadness she conveyed and exposed to him was almost contagious, so much that he snapped. Life wasn't simple anymore. No longer did he have the freedom to be the little easygoing kid who didn't pay mind to others or their issues, no longer could he live his life only caring about his own perspective.
Guilt, pity. Those horrible feelings overtook his heart and, promptly so, his tears began streaming nonstop. His face tilted up and his mouth opened to scream, though nothing came out, for he no longer had the air to let it out. Silent agony of a boy's crushed, wounded heart, he could do nothing but use what little strength he had to clutch his love tighter, slightly sulking while snuggling her. For now, she had no home to go back to, while he had no shoulder to cry onto.

She needed to see. She needed to get everything that remained. The sealed cases, the relics, everything she could. She didn't have a place to stay, she could at least store her belongings in the janitor's closet. As for a place to stay, she had only planned on convincing Maxi to let her stay, something she wanted, even if she knew it was against the rules. But when the time came, she would have to find something else to do, somewhere to really sleep. Even if it was just in Kasey's car, or at a hotel, she needed to figure it out. She needed to. _______________ "Little one, why are you out here all alone?" his hand reached out to her, one that had skin that was cut, scarred and burnt. it didn't look like flesh, but something wooden, like he was carved from a tree. Worn and weathered bandages loosely covered his hand. She did not yet look up at his face, reaching out to touch his hand, only for her world to be cast aside from her black and white world and to be filled with color. She opened her eyes wide, as she stared into the man's face, her eyes tearing up, confused at what was happening. She was feeling... happier. She wasn't so sad, but why had it all gone away? The man smiled at her, his face covered in the same stained and torn bandages, his jagged and sharp teeth smiling back at her. His own teeth black as obsidian, something that was shiny, polished, rather than a lack of hygiene. "It is alright my dear. I will take care of you." He spoke to the girl, only to kneel down to get on eye level with her. He did so slowly, letting time pass as she held his hand. He was not speaking to her to lean about her, but was poking around her head. Something, she had willingly allowed, even if she didn't know what she was allowing him to do. "I can be your papa now. Let us go home and get washed up." he spoke to her. He had seen her life, and when he returned to his home, he would explain it all to her, everything that was. _______________ "I have to see." She would say, attempting to rise back onto her feet. She was going to head into the building. She needed to get anything she could. She needed to go inside. The fires had stopped. It was safe now. It was over. All of it was over. her life was over. "Maxi I have to go inside." she said it, but it had came out more of a question than a statement, as if she was asking permission. Their time was limited. Even if the department showed up, they would have to explain what they were doing. They wouldn't let her collect anything. Whatever was inside, she was sure it only happened because he allowed it. He was important. He was everything that was right. No one could kill him unless he wanted to be killed. . . . but then why would be want to be killed? ~ 530 ~
