Three days. It had been three days that she had not come home. How many more days would Sato go without asking questions? Hain stood there nervously before the closed doors to the man's office. It wasn't strange to be called in a manner like this. Without his assistant to aid him, Hain had simply been the one to take her place. With his own thoughts racing, he couldn't help bu wonder what had become of her. He was beginning to sweat, until he asked the question. "Hain, forget about work for the day. I need you to find where Kasey has gone off to." The command Sato gave was finished with the punctuation of his pen no longer dancing on his page. He lifted a phone off of his desk, a cell phone and offered it to the butler. Hain knew very well what it was, having been his boss's personal cell. Why he was so willing to offer such a thing, was unknown to him. "I don't have time to worry about her, as well as the rescue operation." Hain would take the phone, and as fast as he could move without getting yelled at, he left the office. Immediately he would scroll through the contacts, only to find her name among them. If it was simple enough to call her, why did Sato not do it himself? He would tap her contact, imitating the call. He was making his way into the main room, where a few of the other staff sat around a television, watching the news. He would stand around, find the phone to ring a few times. "Mistress Kasey. It is Mister Hain. Are you alright? Master Sato is asking if you need our help? Do you need us to rescue you? Please call back-""The number you are trying to reach is no longer avai-""What?" Hain moved the phone from his face to look at the screen. It seemed to have been dropped for disconnected. But why? Why did it drop in the midst of the call? "Hain, come look!" One of the other maids called him over. He would make his way to the screen to watch along with the other employees. "Oh Master Sato is not going to be pleased at all to find out about this..."WC: 387 |
"You sure do take a beating, don't you?"She leaned over to her side, spitting out the few teeth that fell loose from her own mouth. With it, blood found its way onto the floor, mixing with the already existing puddle. Kasey sat there, died to a chair that was bolted to the ground. Her arms were bound arms of the seat, her right hand missing her pinky and ring fingers, while her right hand had been completely removed. The front of her white dress shirt was bloodied, stained with her own blood. The bandages on her head were removed. exposing the lack of her left eye. However, this single injury she had done to herself, and was not done to her captors. "Must be nice to be so high up on his ladder. Why don't you join us and we can kill him together, Beta One." the red haired man stood before her, the wooden bat still in his hands. It was cracked, splintered and all but broken. He dawned a similar suit to her, something of a uniform in their employment. "Sato wants us dead. But we're the ones that survived his testing. We're just guinea pigs to him." Kasey remained silent, her swollen face covered in bruises and blood. She continued to bleed out, but she was waiting for the moment. She was obedient to one person alone; Herself. "Look, someone's coming out! That's him! The man that fits the description of the Villain responsible for so many deaths and injuries at the Tokyo central hospital! It's truly a tragic scene! This reporter for one cannot believe the cruelty displayed today! Are there no Hero's or Vigilante's able to step up and protect us from this massive threat!? " The TV's news broadcasted to everyone in that small building. The sound of it reaching Kasey's ears. Tokyo Hospital. That was where Susumu was. A villain was attacking? No no. Kasey was just there, she was just there. SHE WAS JUST THERE. NOW SHE WASN'T. "Relax, Kasey. We don't even know it for sure.""SHE COULD BE DEAD, SO MANY COULD BE DEAD."
"It's not our concern. We must get out. We have to save our energy. We can't waste it. We one have once chance."
"We will kill them all, then we will get out of here."Kasey did not ponder what he was saying about Ketsujo Corp, nor the fact that he knew about the testing. Was this man one of them, or was he another scientist left behind? But Kasey's mind was fixed on Susumu. On G. Was he visiting her? Could they both be hurt? It was then that her phone rang. It sat on the table, and to their knowledge had stopped working. As it rang, the chime of it alerted all of the men that were there. The red haired man dropped the bat to run towards it, only to chuck it into a wall. The sound of it would stop. "... It was... a gift." The girl spoke, her own anger beginning to fuel within her. How much had she eaten? It didn't matter. She was going to eat well, after this. . . . She lay there in a pool of blood. Her white shirt stuck to her skin and stained red. She lay on her right side, the empty socket bleeding over her face. She looked at her hands, the wounds replaced by bones that moved and existed without the muscles or tissues. "Right... Setsuna can do that..." she thought to herself. The men were no longer standing, now laying on the ground lifeless. She would close her only eye. Yes, rest would be nice. But the bodies lay there, twitching, the last of their life escaped them. Their faces, their eyes, their hands and their necks were eaten, removed, and devoured. She had not eaten for a while. But now, the young janitor was full. And she had made a mess, this time one she did not intend to clean up. ~ Word Count: 673 (TWC: 1060) ~ |

henever she sat around at lunch, Kanna couldn't help think back to her. Perhaps on some level, even wonder if she wouldn't come by to bitch at her so they could laze about and smoke one before heading back to class. Ever since that afternoon, they'd run into each every so often, share a couple words, perhaps a smoke at times... Which made Kanna find all too odd when she went not one but two days in a row without even catching sight of the dilligent janitor. As she had no habit of talking with others, she also had no clue whether any of them had noticed her absence. Maybe they had, maybe they hadn't. "Hmm... I'm surprised nobody came over to bitch at me for sitting where I shouldn't... I hope she's not sick or some shit.", she mused, casually looking out the window as her mind wandered, thinking if all the manner of shady business Kasey was obviously involved in had finally caught up to her. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she typed a few keys on her computer. That disposable phone she'd given her, supposedly untraceable? Yeah... It really was untraceable... Unless you happened to be the one who coded the encryption software to make it so. She'd been in exactly the same place for the past three days...? Nah, that's impossible... She probably just forgot the phone somewhere, even assuming she was actually inside that building. Still, Kanna couldn't shake off that bad feeling no matter how she looked at it. She'd been hoping to get Kasey on her side and use some of the woman's likely encyclopedic information for her own benefit... If the woman went and got herself in trouble so early on, without the hacker even getting that chance. Worst case scenario, she'd have died somewhere, a prospect far too uneasy for her to linger. She had no real investment in Kasey, beyond a source of information, and yet she still couldn't help but think she was the least unpleasant Janitor she'd ever met in her life. Hopefully she'd come back tomorrow or so... ... Only she wouldn't. Kanna needn't even have waited until the next day to realize her suspicions might actually be true. In the late hours in the night, she really had nothing to do. She couldn't sleep anyway, and so figured might as well laze about, venting what she precieved as annoyance, but may very well just be concern. So when she got that notice, how her tracking device had suddenly stopped working... Kanna didn't think twice. Before she knew it, she'd grabbed her housekeys, cell phone, and the only weapon she could find: A switchblade. It took a fair amount of navigation to reach that basement, but oddly enough, nobody came by to stop her. Kanna made sure to use her quirk on her phone, tap into the building's network and getting a read of all other nearby phones... But came up empty, seeing nothing and nobody until she reached that room. Kanna had seen tons of wierd shit in her life, she'd seen her fair of share of bloodshed, and been responsible for part of it... But nothing compared to the crimson sight before her, comparable to what you'd expect from slasher flicks. Kanna couldn't help but feel a nudging reminder of how she herself was far from exactly sane: "Holy shit... Did a serial killer pass through here...?", she mumbled, awestruck yet still fully alert, reflexively raising one hand over her mouth and nose A normal person would have turned around and gotten the hell out, but Kanna took a step forward. The stench of death wasn't so overwhelming as to leave her dinner at risk, but even a borderline psychopath who struggled with emphasizing with those who were most likely scumbags avoided looking too hard at the bodyparts lying around. As adrenaline mixed with a deeply rooted resolve of what she'd come here to do, she just wasn't interested in corpses. The image of that long haired janitor firmly engrained in her mind, she made her way through the scene, struggling to figure out what had gone there. Whatever furniture might have existed there had been torn to pieces, leaving little clues as to what happened before everybody died. Controlling her breath, Kanna kept her anxious heartbeat in check as much as possible, as those sharp, focused eyes of jade scanned the floor. Eventually, she found her, and her breath caught in her throat. Not unlike everyone else here, she too had been completely torn to pieces, but unlike everybody else, enough of the janitor remained intact for Kanna to recognize her: "KASEEEEEEY!!", calling out in a rare moment of fright, the startled blonde rushed over to her friend's dismembered body, nearly slipping on the bloodsoaked floor. She shook the woman far more forcefully than she probably should have had the janitor still be alive, but lacking an immediate reaction, immediately let loose an endless flow of expeletives, "Fuck, fuck, FUUUUUCK...!!" Thud! Thud! Punching with all her might, Kanna vent her frustrated on the ground below, "Too late, TOO FUCKING LATE!!", once twice, thrice, she bashed into the ground as if it could do anything to change what happened, "YOU IDIOT!!" She screamed at her own weakness, carelessness, stupidity not to have done more to keep an eye on their shady janitor. Her punches grew weaker with each one until she could scarcely move her hand at the end of it. It hurt like hell, but more than this pain, more than this sting of failure... The girl was dead, and this thought left an aching, incomprehensible pain in her chest... She'd gotten here too late and the one she'd came to save had been torn apart like all the others. Question now was, what the hell was she going to do...? ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

"Rena, why are you reading? Don't you want to play?"The small girl sat before her own bloodied body. She looked at the small child's pink hair and the small animal she held. It was a little stuffed bunny. Kasey dripped blood onto the ground as she looked at that child, only to blink and find her to be an adult in the next moments. Tears filled the other girl's eyes. "Why didn't you come back, Kasey? Why didn't you come back for me?" The thoughts ran into her mind as she drifted into darkness. Darkness. There was no light. She was not someone who was blessed enough to die. She was going to walk this earth for all eternity. . . . Gasping, taking in a deep breath, Kasey would come too. The skin of her own body bruised, opened, cut, sliced. She was a dead woman, or at least should have been. Her left eye was still closed. She looked around the room, only to try and process what had happened. Finding her body being shaken, she tried to make out the person that yelled, and seemed to strike the ground. "Kanna?" she asked, almost calmly. She lifted her hand to rest it upon her shoulder. Her right would rest there, trying to comfort the girl, the bits of tendon and meat already trying to regrow back on her fingers. Kasey was someone who did not bat an eye at death or blood. She did not care for the pain to her body, enduring all of it. Her body was weak, frail, at least metaphorically speaking. But how long had it been? Someone had actually come to her aid? her rescue? "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" She asked, with genuine concern, wondering what she had gone through. Were there others? Where were they? How did she get there? Kasey stopped to look around the room, wondering what had happened to begin with. Who were the men, and whose car did they take here? There was more questions than answers, and Kanna had walked right into her web of lies and half truths. She would weakly begin to get to her knees, trying to make her way towards one of the bodies. She didn't bat an eye at the blood or the damage to his face. With her own struggles to move without straining herself, she had even stuck her tongue out to focus. They were in one of the many safehouse Sato kept around. It was strange to be in one after so long. Kasey had been there before, but was not entirely sure which one they were at. They had to be in an industrial area, or some abandoned part of the city. It was the basement to a small office building, or some apartment or condo. She needed to get to a body to find keys, or an access card. From there, she was going to make her way back up the building to find out if there was a way to get back home. That was her plan. That was all she wanted to do. She would stop where the red haired man's body lay, looking into the bits of his skull that were exposed and not caved in. She twisted her head like a curious puppy, thinking about who he was before all of this. He was the one that hit her, sure, but was he a bad guy? "Kanna, do you know how to drive?" Kasey asked, her skeleton hand taking the weight of her body as she leaned, her three good fingers patting down the man's body for anything she could have used... Ah, there it was. She would pull out a key ring from his pocket with the same KC symbol she had learned to love. But instead of being filled with joy, she was confused. Were these Sato's men? Why did they come after Kasey? Why did they need her? Why did he ask about the project? Again, questions rushed into her tiny mind, and there was no answers. And with them, there was no real safe place to go. The question was; Who to trust? Who could be trusted? With a blond girl showing up at just the right time, was she a hero, or was she just there by chance? ~ Word Count: 723 ~ |

For once, Kanna's wrath came not from pride but something else... She'd only wanted Kasey's information, she knew they might very well become enemies once they learned more about each other. She wanted it enough to risk diving headfirst into a rabbit hole without really knowing if she'd be able to come back out. A woman like Kasey no doubt also expected to use Kanna all the same, the two using each other for their purposes, with Kanna for once barely noticing she actually appreciated the company of someone she didn't exactly trust... Was this why her failure felt so personal? She could scarcely understand it herself. Amidst the raging storm of conflicting emotions, she took a fair moment to process how the girl she took for dead had actually called out to her. Her breath hitched, whole body tensing as a feeling of relief washed over it quickly enough: "Shit, Kasey...?! Y-you're alive? Had me fooled there...", fumbled Kanna, flabbergasted, realizing the answer for herself quickly enough. Many of her wounds would have sufficed for someone to bleed out, but now that she loosed closely, her muscles were slowly growing back... A healing factor quirk huh...? But in the end, this relief gave way to a knowing sense of embarassment: Fully understanding how the janitor actually had her a bit worried there, Kanna couldn't help but look away, feeling a faint, flustered heat in her cheeks as she scratched her neck idly, "So, uhm... You were awake the whole time weren't you...?" Her eyes trailed off Kasey as she spoke, only casually looking back at her out the corner of her eye. Now more than ever thankful for the girl's cluelessness, the hacker calmly held the bony hand rested on her shoulder. With the girl alive, Kanna's resolve renewed and she'd calmly drape the shady girl's arm around her shoulder, helping her as s she struggled to her feet. This awkwardness lingered rather unpleasantly in the blonde's mind, often driving her to avert her gaze as her memory worked against her - she remembered embarassing moments far too vividly with her inability to forget anything. It took hearing a completely out of place question to slap composed Kanna back to her senses: "Oi, oi... You seriously asking me if I'm okay?", she interjected, raising an incredulous eyebrow. Just the kind of shit she'd expect from Kasey by now, really, but even then she couldn't help a sigh and shake of her head, "Yare yare daze..." After witnessing some of the girl's regenerative capabilities, Kanna already expected her to survive this, enough not to feel any nudging desire to ask her. Regaining her calm and focus, her mind saw nothing but ways out of this bloody mess. While she clearly understood how the shady janitor' survival might point to her being the responsible for the massacre, at the same time her disappearance also implied she could have had a perfectly good reason to kill them all. "What the hell happened here?", she asked her, finally looking into those absent green eyes. Whether or not Kasey answered her, she'd soon move away from the student's support and walk over to one of the corpses. As she did so, Kanna took her own moment to snoop around a while, looking for none other than the phone signal she used to track Kanna here, "Hm... Can't leave this lying around." Seeing her destroyed phone near what remained of the table, Kanna made it a point to retrieve it and take it with her. She'd left far too many tracks simply coming here to retrieve Kasey, even now fully accepting the fact she could be helping a mass murderer who merely wanted to use her. Kanna would tell herself she could just as easily benefit having the janitor on her side, barely acknowledging any other reason why she didn't want her to die. She crossed her arms and watched the one she'd come to rescue crouch down and retrieve something form one of the corpses, an item that looked like a ring. Once she spoke up again, the schoolgirl actually answered in stride: "Well enough yeah. I mean, I ain't got a licence or anything...", shrugging and shaking her head, Kanna nonetheless looked back confidently into Kasey's eyes, as reassuring as you could possibly get from an underage girl with no licence... When she nodded, she knew she could wherever she wanted without crashing, especially at these late hours of the night, "...But I've done it enough times and I'm still here." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

Sins were a mortal mistake. In her life, her employer was the embodiment of greed and lust. Her brother and her sister the sins of pride. The green haired woman full of envy. Maybe someone could say Kasey was someone full of wraith. But only a few knew her for the sin that she was. Holding the keyring, the single key and keychain hung, swinging in the balance of things. Her pieces fell where they did, and with the bodies left behind, they needed to clean up a little bit. "Kanna, I'm going to ask you to look away, and close your eyes." Kasey would say to the girl. "If it means anything, they have my hand around here somewhere, but I'm pretty sure one of them ate my fingers after they cut them off." She spoke, without breaking without stuttering. It was common to her. It was her lift. This was normal to her."I'm going to prevent them from identifying the bodies." She would say again, hoping the girl would turn away. Without looking back, she would near the face of the man, and she would finish the meal she started. Her teeth would begin to grow into jagged fangs and knives, only to settle into the meat of the face. With the force of her jew, the sounds of crushing and breaking bone would be heard as she would devour the head of the man. The less they could find, the better. After, her stomach would begin to digest and process the meat, only giving her enough energy to sit and kneel on her own. She would then chomp down on the man's hands, preventing anyone from finding out from his fingerprints as well. She would continue to feast until his elbows were reduced to nubs. Getting up on her own, she would make her way to the next man... and the next... and the next, until there was nearly nothing left. She would strip the vest that was over her shirt and toss it onto the ground. To the last man, who seemed to be furthest from bloodied, she would remove and unbutton his shirt before feasting on him as well. After doing so, she would remove her own stained clothing to drop it onto the ground, taking a new sky blue shirt, with only what seemed to be a hamburger's worth of ketchup on the front of it, but it was no such thing. In the time she would do such things, if Kanna had poked around she could find files or computers. In the files, she could have read about a project funded by an unnamed company with the goal of collecting an anti-aging serum. With the theory that healing quirks had the perfect assistance in such an ideal, twenty four subjects were collected to be tested on. Each of the files noting the similarities between the subjects, but without any personal details. It was nothing more than an overview, something sent as a report to the higher ups. But on the computers, images from CCTV cameras and other surveillance networks could be found of other individuals. On it, images of Kasey pulling up to the Tokyo Hospital could be seen, with her entering the place with flowers and a black box. The day she met Susumu after her own personal attack. Pictures of the red haired man did not exist on the computer, either having been removed, or never uploaded in the first place. Ketsujo's Thirteen had just all been given faces. And only one of them would know each of their names. But everyone knew about the one subject that broke free. The one that had not screamed. The same girl that ate the remains of cold corpses. The girl, known as Subject One. ~ Word Count: 632 ~ |

rath, greed, pride... Kanna was far from a saintly woman herself, with her aggressive callousness standing out as her more devious trait. After Kasey retrieved that ring and asked her to turn around, the blonde didn't ask why. She got the drift, and nodded, expecting the girl to beat the corpses into a bloody pulp: "'iight... You do your thing.", she'd say, resigning herself, shrugging as she turned around and looked for something else to do in the meantime, "Just don't take too long, we gotta get the hell outta dodge." Now more than ever Kanna understood the extent of her own callousness, for she really didn't care what Kasey did to the corpses of gangsters. Put em in a blender, cut them apart, hell, she could eat them for all Kanna cared. As it turns out, that's exactly what she had in mind. She always had the girl pegged for glutton, but now, well... Now she wasn't so sure about the right word. Kanna on the other hand, was indeed quite far from completely sane, as she couldn't really bring herself to care for the carnage happening behind her. Yeah, killing random people just to eat was defenitely something the blonde could loathe. But eating what remained of your kills, especially when those kills likely deserved what they got... She couldn't bring herself to hate the ghoulish woman over it. On the other hand, neither could she simply up and turn her back on a cannibal, call it survival instinct or whatnot. As she reached for her own cellphone though... Kanna hissed at the sharp rush of pain piercing up her arm at the slightest motion, at the effort of simply holding an object realizing for the first time how she'd likely fractured her hand with the earlier outburst. But she bit through the pain, gritting her teeth and handling both computers and cellphones alike, taking expecial interest in the few littered the ground. Picking up two of the bloodied devices, she'd speak up through the grisly sounds of tearing flash and cracking bone: "I'll be right outside. Hurry up as soon as you're done.", she'd tell her, stepping past the blown open entrance and leaning behind the gap where a door must have once stood. Just like Kasey, Kanna too had something she'd rather not show her; the full abilities of her quirk. Using those two looted cellphones, she'd sift through them and the network of the building, gathering, compiling, collecting and reading through every bit of information she found, "Tch... Makes me sick.", she grunted, visibly outraged. A research project, experimenting on Quirk users to harness their abilities. A sickening notion, far more revolting to Kanna than anything you could do to a corpse. She clicked her tongue, pissed, but for once not regretting her decision to come this far. She'd only glimsed the tip of the iceberg, but this information on the thirteen subjects - Kasey most importantly - she'd some light on the mess of a person this woman had grown into. Judging from what she'd seen thus far, their janitor could have turned out a lot worse, and at that moment, Kanna couldn't help but sympathising with the mess she had become. Sure, Kanna's damage never translated into cannibalism, but neither had she been captured and experiemented on. As for her current predicament, this same company sent goons after her, and likely taken her here to do god knows what. Kanna found no such details, but nor did she need them: "So... Are you ready to go...?", she'd ask Kasey the moment she saw the girl step outside, or heard any sign hinting to her finishing her business. How much had the girl suffered to become like this...? What kind of person would she be had she never been experiemented on? All this new information, ingraining in Kanna's memories... She almost looked at Kasey differently the next time their eyes met... While the janitor dealt with cleaning up their physical presence, Kanna took care of erasing their digital presence too, deleting, infecting, corrupting the system she currently found herself on, file by file if need be. Now, all they had to do was get out of this place. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY[/quote]

It's hard to hate anyone, when you began to understand them. Kasey was tied to all of the evils of the world, yet continued to strive to become the good. She was nothing more than a janitor, not just of the school, but of Japan. She was cleaning the filth of the world, one body at a time. If you removed everyone that made a mess, the world would be a cleaner place. That was how she saw the world. That was how she would continue to see it. As she consumed the bodies, she would make sure none would ever tie this back to Ketsujo Corp. She needed to find out the truth, before she could do anything. Whatever Kanna could find, would either help her, or hinder her plans. The girl would tell Kasey to exit the room when she was done. Kasey would have nodded as she said so. Thinking about the building they really were within. As she dressed herself, she would exit the room to regroup with the blonde student. She would be looking down at the shirt, buttoning it up and missing one, so the left side of her shirt was shifted a little higher than it should have been. Rolling up her sleeve on her forgotten hand with the three good fingers, she smiled and remained beside the girl. "Yeah, they got the nice car." she would say to her, "Doesn't matter if you can drive, it practically drives itself... I hated using it." Kasey would hand the keys over to the girl, where she could easily press the keyfob to alert the horn from the car to locate it. Following the sound, or simply exiting the building she would find a Lamborghini Veneno. Something born from a racetrack, only to be locked away forever. Kasey knew that car all to well. She was drawn to it. She wanted to take it out so many times, but sitting in it, a single fact turned her from it. It was not a stick, it was paddle driven. Kasey was drawn to feeling the raw power of the vehicles that she drove, if not for the rush, for the reason it felt like they were alive. They weren't just tools, they were creatures she talked to, and told her story to. And in this case, they were something that the girl could just plug into and drive. All of the knobs and screens that lay within the cabin were her own. And Kasey would allow herself to enjoy the ride, instead of wanting to drive. "You gotta drive, the car needs both hands on the wheel." If she took the keys, both of her hands would be in the air between them, if not then she would have put the key in her pocket before doing so. She would show off her bone hand, as well as fingers that replaced the ones she lost. "I gotta let them heal, so I can't really touch things right now." Kasey would tell her. She was working with a student, and soon they would be trying to bring down a massive corrupt organization. The same one that twisted her. The same one that twisted him. To anyone knowledge, she was the one that came out relatively untouched, unscathed from the event. he curiosity was unchanged, and her own opinions of people would remain the same. But why? Why did she choose to see the god in people when she had stared at hell in the face? She would open her eyelid, to show the left eye she had removed day ago. A white ball filled the socket, but no iris would be found. She would not be able to see for now, but hopefully, soon she would be able to get back to where she was before. She would recover, a bit, slowly. ". . . You can do that, right?"~ Word Count: 653 ~ |

h, the things she did in the name of a good source... Hanging out with a cannibal seemed like the most extreme, but she couldn't really think any less of that silly but knowledgeable janitor she could buy off with food. Was Kasey just completely deranged, or was she that good an actress? Ultimately, she had no quarrel with her... Kanna didn't know or care about the men she'd most likely killed, felt no sympathy towards them after digging up enough to understand they'd likely kidnapped and done whatever they wanted with her. Perhaps if the blonde strove to understand some of the people she hated, she'd have a chance at letting go of her grudges... But at this point, whether due to her background, youth, or even her powerful memory, such a deed laid beyond the girl's reach. Perhaps simply focusing on saving others would gradually erode her vengeful self as she focused on the bigger picture... At this point though, she resented the company who'd done this to Kasey and the other twelve, and should she ever find the name of that company, she'd defenitely aid the girl in exposing them to the public. "No doubt, they're hired goons paid to cover up company secrets... Whoever's paying them gotta make sure to keep the happy and quiet.", she clenched her left fist, right hand held loosesly as even the slightest clenching motion shot that sharp pain up her arm until she relented. She looked at the janitor who still looked far too messed up to be doing, well, anything, but there she was. She didn't even need Kanna's help to walk, and her next words had the blonde scratching her head almost humbly, "I can't say I mind that to be fair..." She really didn't. Not to mention those heavy electronics on modern cars made it all too easy for Kanna to pretend she could drive. And she really could, if you give her a whole road and no other drivers. But as she had never taken lessons, she didn't know a great many street signs essential to coordinate traffic. But then, all these thoghts completely slipped from her mind. Her jaw dropped ever so slightly, those thin, youthful lips widening as the girl dropped the keys in her hand... She'd be driving... That?!? "I'd tell you my right hand's likely fractured, but I doubt i'll need it too much. So yeah, I'll take the wheel.", despite the seeming handicap, Kanna looked confident, far too confident for a rookie driver with an injured hand. Accepting the key offered, she wasted no time getting inside the car and sitting at the wheel, eyes wiedened with a visible hint of excitement. Kanna was a techie. She liked machines. Even though this normally included only computers and their ilk, she couldn't resist the charm of a car far faster than anything she'd ever driven before, "I don't know what electronics they put in these cars... And I don't wanna find out the hard way. We're going under the radar." First thing she did? Disable the GPS, or any other tracking mechanisms that could get in the way. Faint sparks trickeled off Kanna's hands as they glided over the many panels and finally seized hold of the steering wheel. The data domination of her Quirk having its way with the car's software. Making it hers and nobody else's. By the time she pressed the start button, she took only a moment to marvel at that sound: "Fucking wow... So that's what they call purring huh...?", her lips drew into a grin, like a giddy kid who'd recieved a new toy. A thoroughly discouraging look coming from someone who just recently admitted not to have a driving licence, and to have a fractured hand on top of it, "Gotta say, it feels good~" Of course, merely communicating with the car's software wasn't enough. Merely getting a beast this powerful out of the parking lot caught her off guard, with that oversensitive first gear coupled with an overpowered engined having more than enough force to shake the two back and forth as she accelerated and stopped, startled: "Whoa there, way too sensitive...", interjected Kanna, all but unable to shake off the surprise of handling a Lambo. To her credit, she'd gradually regain her cool and focus, though words of awe came out far too easily once that purr became a roar, louder as the speedometer rose, "Sugeee..." Thankfully, the girl had played racing games, and with a car this cyberized, well... Driving it was kinda like playing a game. She eventually got used to how every touch of wheel and pedal made it move, and how she could fool around with the software to make up for her lack of driving skill. Hell, she actually managed to make the ride feel smooth despite her inexperience, enough to eventually ask a very important question: "You got a safehouse somewhere you won't be found?", she inquired, not really having it in her to glance away from the road, not when she went over the speed limits all too easily. She tried to avoid going excessively fast in places she'd expect to find radars and cameras, avoid drawing too much attention this far away from their destination. Of course, if she didn't, Kanna would have no choice but taking the girl to her own place, she'd deal with the aftermath, well, in the aftermath. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

How could anyone live with themselves knowing the unspeakable horrors Kasey had preformed? How could anyone look past all of the evils and sins she committed without a second thought? It was simple to anyone who had a heart. She did not do these things because she wanted to, she did them because she needed to. How could anyone paint her as a villain, when she had lived through so much, yet tried to help so many? She was pure, and innocent despite the corruption that was drawn to her. She had more than a few screws loose, but with a part of her life lost to time, only to be left in a dark room, would anyone blame her? Compared to the other murderers and thieves, she was relatively harmless, despite holding onto one of the most destructive quirks out of the bunch of them. Her own file only held the truth of her healing factor, while nothing recorded her ability to bend her bones to her will, or rather, Setsuna's. "That's what makes no sense." Kasey thought to herself. If this was a Ketsujo Safehouse, and they also housed some of his vehicles, then weren't they employees like her? Why did they target Kasey of all people? Why did they try to persuade her to take out Sato instead? What had happened? As she neared the car, she tried to understand the complications that were now presented to her. If he was a subject as well, then he had lost his ability to heal. If he knew her as Beta One, then surely he knew the others. Did Kanna know? Did she find files? Did she find anything? Silent, she would reach out to the door with her fingers, the door swing outwards before ascending upwards. She would take her seat inside of the cockpit, her pants all but dry, but her shirt visibly growing tainted. As she looked around the vehicle, she reached out to open the glove box. Surely if it was one of his actual vehicles it would be- "I don't understand." She reached inside of it, only to find the manual for the car, as well as two objects. The first a roll of colored cloth stitched together as if it was a makeshift bandage. It was scraps from her own tailoring work, left behind where she would reuse it as her own. Reaching it, she would begin to wrap up her damaged hand, having her left over fingers still exposed. Beside it a single figurine, one made of bone. The greatest hero she ever knew. He may not have been the one to rescue her, but if Sashi was out there fighting that Thundershock, perhaps he was saving others. It was alright. She didn't blame him. She reached out to grab that strange ivory colored figure. Placing it in her lap. She would close her eyes, taking the seat belt and buckling herself in. "I hope you are alright, brother. I hope Miku is safe as well." The world was changing, and Kasey had just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Soon after, the engine would start and ignite, the sound of it right behind their heads. "It's fast, don't forget that. Every car has a soul." Kasey spoke, her only working eye looking down at the figure of Gigi, a man who had perhaps changed her life. Maybe without him she would have never found that job at the school. She would have no family. She wouldn't have met Kanna. Maybe she would have never made Susumu hate him, or him hate her. Maybe she would have never messed things up. Maybe she was just better off dead. She was engulfed in her own thoughts, blaming herself over and over and over. Everything seemed to be her fault. But then the girl asked a very particular question. A safehouse? "These men work for Ketsujo Corp, or at least that what it seems like." Kasey would think aloud, her gaze turning to look out of the window as her hand held onto the toy made of bone. "It doesn't help that I also happen to be one of the many staff members who live at his mansion. This car is his too." She would talk, again calmly, like it had happened before. She would turn away from the streetlights to look over to the girl. ". . . A place I moved to, because my brother kicked me out of the house, because his girlfriend didn't like well... me." It was a strange thing to say out loud, but here she was telling a girl she barely knew. "I don't think I'm welcomed anywhere anymore."Her boss seemed to hire some people to kill or interrogate her. G was too busy being in love with Susumu. She would not burden Levi or Seki with her own problems, especially not to make a mess of his own home. She didn't have anywhere else to go. ". . . Do you like this car?" Kasey would say, this time her tone changed, slowly she would speak. She would find trouble to speak. She was alone in this world. And all she had left, was small talk. ~ Word Count: 874 ~ |

erhaps in at a different time, different place, one might find a version of themselves absent the adversity the'd gone through. Would the girl beside her still have ended up working all those jobs in that case, especially when some of them involved killing people and eating them to dispose of the corpses? Would she still have been kidnapped and cut to ribbons because somebody thought they had the right to? Unfortunately, you couldn't change the past, or even the circumstances they found themselves in. Just like Kasey, Kanna's mind was hard at work even with the hand on the wheel... You'd think whether or not that was a good idea, considering, well... Every so often she entered a turn far too fast for comfort, and when that happened Kanna struggled with taking her situation seriously? Why would, she with the road all too herself, and a supercar's electronic systems completely at her command? Screeeeeeeeech! As she turned sideways, Kanna pulled the headbrake and drifted in instead, moving past her lane and onto the oncoming one, coming mere inches from letting the rear lick over the sidewalk. As she grabbed the wheel hard with both hands, that pain from the left side got a sharp hiss as she gritted her teeth through it, for the most part commanding it to stay where she needed. "Always wanted to do that~...", she'd admit as that gamer's eagerness got out of control for once, smirking all too cheerfully even after being shaken around from her own manouver, "I wouldn't call it a soul but... I know what you mean better than you think.", narrowing her eyes, Kanna pressed the pedal to the metal. Ever since getting inside this car, she'd yet had the opportunity to do this. But as that roaring, beastly engine engine grew louder as the counters inched closer to the redline, and Kanna breezed through a fair couple of kilomenters in little over a minute. They'd have been glued to the seat as she easily went past the 200km/h mark, feeling far more at ease with roads she knew. This particular avenue gave the best possible chance to push a bit further, as most of the lights got stuck in green for a good long while, and she wouldn't find any pesky cameras or police. Nonetheless that straight road wouldn't go on forever, and the blonde eventually had to slow down and turn left, without drifting this time. She'd shaken Kasey around far too much already, and as she explained what she knew of her predicament, she completely captured her attention. If there was something else she loved more than overpriced machines, was information. "If the men who attacked you belong to your company, then either your boss wants you dead, or someone else is after him. If you're his secretary, either getting you on their side or simply ripping out all the useful information seems like a logical plan.", Kanna stated, matter of factly. The state she found Kasey in pointed to that conclusion as well, increasing the odds of it being the correct answer. Not really knowing Kasey's boss and understanding her value as an employee, she found the latter option far more likely. One the other hand, just like how Yuuei suspected the woman knew more than she should, her boss could just as easily have decided he'd rather dispose of her and bury all the secrets between her ears. Her next words resonated with the blonde more than she'd show. She'd run away from not one but two houses for realizing she either unwelcome, or treated as mere stress relief. She didn't leave without bashing someone's head in, and wondered just how Kasey might have coped with it, "Yeah, family will do that to you...", she all but sighed, shaking her head with knowing cynicism, "'iight, we'll go to my place... You should avoid being seen there though, people get nosy as fuck if they smell gossip." Of course people will ask questions if they see the school's janitor coming out of a student's house in the morning. Kanna for one didn't really give a fuck, Kasey was far more likely to get in trouble over it. Thus, she'd steer the car closer to home, growing far more at ease with the roads there, but also more careful, knowing she could find more traffic cameras around these parts, and where they were. Advantages of playing the home turf I guess. But then, the woman asked a question she really needn't have, not when she could still catch those playful hints of glee on the teenager's face: "Hell yeah I do...!", her answer came far more enthusiastically than she showed about most things, feeling the kind of thrill she would after one sidedly dominating several rounds of Counter Assault, "And I'm not even a car nut or anything... But cars like these are so cybernetic, you'd think they're catering to techies or some shit." The ride would come to an end soon... As Kanna finally slowed down and approached an apartment block, the janitor could tell they were getting close to the destination. Within a quick walking distance from Yuuei, this seemed like the ideal rental home for students who preferred to stay away from the dorms. ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

There was always another world, another universe. There was alternate realms and dimensions. Going back to change one choice in your life could make all of the difference, while also doing nothing at all. Kasey did not think of her own choices, as she held no regret for all of her suffering. If she was presented with the same offer from the same man to take her to the same labs to ensure the same pain, she would gladly accept a second time. She had freed all of them. She carried the pain so none of them had to. She saved them. She was their hero. She wanted to believe all of them were heroes too. Having met Hain, she continued to believe it. But to find that other man that beat her not long ago, was one as well, left her confused. Did she not suffer enough? Should she have let them hurt her even more? Maybe he would be a kinder man. Would he change how he was, if he was given a second chance? She continued to sit peacefully, her gaze set into the distance. The G-Force of the turns did not shake, nor disturb her. He own mind was hard at work wondering how different everyone's life would have been, either with, or without her. Were there people who had wished they had never met Kasey? If so, how many? Her own silence would be deafening, as she pondered every face she had turned into a figure made of bone. Everyone she had ever met. Did they, like her, hide their pain when they met her? had they seen her for the monster that she was? had they disliked her from the start? Were all of her friends lies to her? "There's no way Sato wants me dead..." she said it to herself, thinking about everyone he had ever ordered her to kill. All of the corpses she had shared with Dot. All of the bodies she burned before she feasted on them. How long did she do it for him? How long could she continue to do such a thing for that man? How much more would she be able to do before he saw her as a liability. But she could only think about the what ifs. What if Sato want to get rid of her? Wouldn't be do it himself? No, it didn't make sense. They were employees too. They could have been spies, agents. They wanted to get rid of Sato, but why did they treat her so violently to try and persuade her? What had Sato done to them? What evil did Sato do to deserve such pain to them? Why did they want to hurt others? her fingers gripped the toy in her hands, as she closed her eyes and tried to think harder. Why would anyone want to get rid of Kasey? What did she do wrong? Or perhaps, it was just the way of the villains to stop people like her. Reaching her her boney and wrapped hand to her face, she would focus on changing the shape of her jaw and skull, to just cause a bit of different shape to her. If they needed to be a secret, then she would try her best to blend in. Raising her cheekbones and defining them, along with making her face appear more round, she was careful to not harm her other organs in a way that would cause pain. She could change her bones, sure, but not her organs. As they begun to slow down, Kasey had begun to weave her own answers. Whatever it was, it was going to be big. "Well you might as well keep the car. I doubt Sato will notice it has gone missing. Plus it's not like I can't explain what happened to it." she would say, unbuckling herself, unsure if the ride was over. She had a lot to think about. "Sorry that I let them break the phone you gave me." She would finally say. ~ Word Count: 675 ~ |

ell, that just leaves the other option...", replied Kanna, almost reflexively, trusting Kasey's own knowledge on her own boss to far surpass anything the blonde could ever figure out. She still suspected the man as the janitor perhaps did too, but for the being, she simply accompanied Kasey's train of though, contributing with her most valuable asset: Intelligence. As the kind of person who liked thinking about things, even under this nearly childish state of enjoyment she managed to think clearly, even under pressure. Part of the reason why she was so good at video games really, "Some splinter faction in your company wants to bring him down by any means necessary. A question for you now: Who could so ambitious as to try it, with the necessary influence to actually achieve it?" Her offer to keep the car didn't so much caught her off guard considering the level of randomness she'd grown to expect from Kasey, yet while that look on her face clearly answered for her how she felt about the idea, Kanna could still see the bigger picture, and promptly interjected: "Dude, I dont even have a license. If I get caught with something this flashy, it's game over...!", how the fuck was she going to explain where that Lambo came from? Where the money for it came from? It would defenitely draw attention considering she really didn't look the part of supercar owner and had no intention of ever doing so. If anything, authorities could easily screw her over assuming she stole. Yet also just as importantly, she'd never recieved a gift this pricey. Her desire for independence, never to feel indebted to anyone. She gripped the wheel tightly, tight enough for her damaged hand to make her hiss at the pain. She knew the odds of Kasey holding such a debt against were stupendously low, but when she thought of Kasey, that only presented a different issue. Even though she was driving, Kanna couldn't help those baffled jade eyes darting to her passanger: "You seriously gonna shafted if I'm caught with it at school. They know I dont have a licence and also know of only one person with rides like that.", as she spoke, the blonde couldn't help but narrow her eyes, wondering if she was actually thinking this through. She probably wasn't, girl knew a lot of things, but the blonde was pretty sure she seldom bothered thinking too hard on that knowledge. She was all for 'screw the consequences' most of the time, but even then she still weighted them out. When the girl mentioned the phone, she waved her hand dismissively, sighing softly: "Don't worry about it...", Kanna's eyes turned back to the road, as even that split second could have cost them dearly... She wasn't driving at that outrageous speed anymore, but still... As pragmatic as ever, the blonde didn't really care so long as her f-... Her information was alright, "I'll get you a new one." Indeed she could, she had about a dozen of those phones; the only reason she'd retrieved the broken one aimed to prevent whoever party came snooping in afterwards didn't find what remained of it and thought of scrounging what data they still could from it. No point revealing her cards this early in the game, right? Especially when even now she wasn't sure who was after Kasey, who had called those goons... Even Kasey, the ally who she came to rescue, still remained mostly a mystery. "If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." Those words all but rung in her mind as she parked the flashy ride on her apartment block, that purring sound finally coming to a halt. After bringing Kasey out and into her home, whoever was after her would inevitably come after Kanna herself. For better or worse, they were in this together now: "Well... Here we are...", she'd speak up, collecting all the phones and seemingly relevant gadgets she'd brough in and putting them all in the only good place she found. The same cloth bag with all the car's documents. As she stepped out of the car, jade green eyes shifted from Kasey to the apartment block. Not a soul in sight, only the nightly song of cicadas to keep them company, "Come on, lets go before someone spots us." Yup, people like talking... Might as well not give them a chance to. Kanna would guide the girl up several flights of stairs, and finally enter an apartment on the 7th floor. Immediately, a electric humming noise would greet Kasey, from her the pricy computer system on the living room. With four monitors plugged in tandem and components emitting a dim, red glow, she'd actually see quite well even with the lights out. Near her computer stood a visibly used bong, as well as empty bags of snacks. She also had a comfy, but nice looking couch, and yet no TV. Beyond that, Kanna had very little in way of decoration, and a lot of shit she just didn't bother cleaning. "Make yourself at home.", she'd say, looking back at the girl while taking off her shoes, nodding at her injuries, "I have bandages for that in the bathroom, but you should probably take a shower to wash off the blood.", but then scratched her neck, as she remembered she too had fooled around in that bloody crime scene, "As do I for that matter." How many people had Sato crossed, killed or made disappear? Could it have been possible that he was the one that funded that project? No, it just couldn't be. . .or could it? What did he gain from it? Maybe it had gotten out of hand, or that it was out of his knowledge. Either way, when she escaped, no one came after her, no one sought to recollect her. No one tried to cover it up. All of the files were gone in that fire, all of the technology left behind for Kasey to scrap and recycle for money. All of it made her first small fortune. All of it, the first steps of her attaining the mountain of cash she now had at her disposal. "Okay, hold onto it then." Kasey would tell the blondie in regards to the gift. "I'll see if Sato even knows it was missing in the first place. Then we'll know for sure if this was his idea. If he doesn't notice, you can keep it and do whatever you want with it." She continued to speak calmly, having her mind cleared for once. Thoughts didn't race, all she wanted was to get back to work and her life. She just wanted everything back to where it was before. "Plus, it's not even that hard to get your some international drivers license. We can learn with this car." She seemed to offer every possible choice to the girl. Holding onto the car for Kasey. Keeping it to get her license. Even holding onto it and possibly selling it later. As the car would get parked, Kasey would push the door out, swinging upwards like all of that manufactures doors did. She would make her way out of the car with her figure in her hand, her bloodied wrapped hand shutting the door and heaving a bit of a smear onto the paint. Her own face had been altered, even just slightly so none would recognize her. Of course, being covered in blood that was mostly your own wouldn't be all that helpful either in hiding. She would follow the girl as she would lead her to her apartment. As they would ascend stairs, Kasey would move the figure to rest in the waist of her pants, pressed against her hip. Her hands held each other, pressing and feeling how far her own skills had grown. She would have been lost for a month it seemed, but everything seemed to grow back in just a few hours. Without peeking at her hand, the pain of the cloth sticking to her tissues and bare muscles would be endurable for now at least. She just needed to clean up and get a change of clothes. That was all she wanted to do. She didn't want to wear the red paint of the other men anymore. As they entered the place, she would be met with all of the dirtied furnishings to expect from a teenager. It was no worse than the typical dorm she occasionally had to clean or check up on. She could have dusted and wiped everything down in just a bit over an hour if she wanted to. Maybe that much she owed the girl for helping her. "Is it this way?" Kasey would speak out, wandering the apartment only to peer into what appeared to be a bathroom. Kanna had offered it, and Kasey would take it up. Entering it, she would shut the door, but with her own disregard for privacy, was left a crack open, an inch from locking shut. She would turn on the water and jump into the shower without warming it up, without stripping. She would stand there, letting the water run down her body. She hoped that she would have a new outfit to change into, or a towel to dry off with later, but in the case she didn't she was going to clean off what blood she could. She would begin to unbutton her shirt only after a few minutes to let the water begin to warm. "Do you think it is safe here?" The voice of Setsuna pried at her thoughts, having been mostly silent since he let himself free. They were weak, but with their feast, they at least had some energy to function. Fighting was out of the question. "Do you trust Kanna?""Of course I trust Kanna." Kasey would say aloud, removing the stained clothing from her body, only to let it fall behind herself as she began to run her skin to try and clean the dried blood off of her body. If the girl was close by, she could easily hear the one sided conversation. "What of Sato? Do you think he was behind all of this?" The spirit spoke again, asking his personal demon questions he felt he already knew the answer to. "He trusts us. We've never failed him. Why would he try to kill me?" she asked. "I've never disobeyed him, so why would he?" she asked, continuing to clean herself, not picking up an soap or shampoo until she was sure she would not get blood on Kanna's belongings. She would unwrap her hand, dropping the bandage onto the floor of the shower, letting the water clean her wounds. She would not wince at the pain, having fully endured her own hell years before this night. "What if he was the one that did the tests on you." he asked again. "What if it was Ketsujo Corp that owned that lab.""If it was, he would have said something if not done something as soon as he saw our ability. He didn't, instead he promoted us. There's no way he knew... right Setsu?" she asked, saying his name aloud. She would draw silent, the figure in her waistband falling to the ground of the shower, the head of the figure striking the floor and snapping off. Kasey would bend, kneeling to the ground to retrieve him. Only to continue to clean herself in silence... this time, tears pouring down her face. Why did everyone want to hurt her? ~ Word Count: 1024 ~ |

ventually, Kasey offered an alternative that could satisfy Kanna's budding need for speed, as well as her pride never to recieve something she couldn't pay back for. To hold her car for safekeeping... Yeah, one could almost see this as a favor she was doing the other girl, even if she rationally understood how Kasey honestly couldn't care less, which meant she did it only for the sake of the blonde's pride and nothing else. And hopefully to save herself the trouble of having supplied an underage teen with her driver's licence. After all, the pragmatic hacker cared about cash quite a fair bit, for it made the difference between being her own woman or forever depending on the kindness of others. "Sure, I guess I can do that, no worries...", she anwered, running her hand over her hair, looking away as uninterested as she possibly could... And failing miserably at that, not that she cared too much quite frankly. After all, the techie cared very little what others actually thought of her, as one might tell from her abrasive attitude and body modded appearance. But the janitor offered a solid plan for once, use this car and its absence to confirm whether or not her beloved boss knew anything about her predicament, "You do that. In the meantime, I'll see about getting my license... Might come in handy in the future. At this rate, I can't drive during daytime without expecting trouble at some point or another." Kanna almost smiled, visibly appreciating the clearer look on the janitor's face, the way her mind followed a clear train of though the blonde could fully grasp and accompany. For the first time she outwardly expressed suspicion over her plentifully shady boss, and whatever he might be up to that could have resulted in her being kidnapped and cut apart... Whether intentionally or otherwise, Kasey had every right of wanting to put a stop to it, and she could rely on Kanna's aid for that. The blonde was always ready to stick it to the man and abusive companies, and doing so over a friend felt only natural... Tonight or tomorrow, perhaps they'd share some more of what they each know, trading in information to further their respective goals. As she ventured deeper into Kanna's lair, Kasey would inevitably notice a faint, lingering scent of smoke, cleverly disguised by those plug in air fresheners. Before long, a black cat appeared out of the shadows, quietly walking over to the two and sweetly rubbing against the blonde's denim clad leg. Nyaaa~ "Yeah, that's Xun... Spoiled little kitten, he can be a be a bit of a dick, and i'm pretty sure he's gay...", despite starting with the obvious flaws of her cute looking black cat, Kanna nonetheless expressed her love with a tender, affectionate petting, until the little feline purred and nuzzled her hand, "But he's pretty cute too~..." As Kasey looked around for the bathroom, Kanna merely nodded and pointed her the right way, scarcely needing directions in a house this small. She'd have to go through the blonde's room to get there, passing by a whole bunch of worn clothing littered around, only a few of which she'd actually bothered tossing into the laundry basket. And instead of actually stuffing the freshly washed clothing into the drawers, she just piled them on top of it. The hacker obviously didn't care though, seriously, she had empty packs of junk food and cans within an arm's reach of her bed, as well as a bong near one side. Mind you, her bed was pretty much just a comfy matress over the floor, it wasn't even anything special to begin with. After putting a bit more food on Xun's tray, Kanna did her best to be hospitable and tend to her guest. She picked out some pajamas, as well as a set street clothes she could take for tomorrow. She wouldn't really miss them... As she approached the half open door to the bathroom, she couldn't help but linger just enough to hear the girl thinking out loud... At least, until she heard her call out to someone else, someone who bore her own last name; an imaginary friend perhaps? The blonde sighed and tried not too think about it too much, sure, Kasey had some screws loose, but then did she have any right to talk? The girl had gone through far worse than Kanna herself after all: "Here are some clothes. Underwear was too big for me so I never wore it, don't worry.", she'd tell her, not long after she finished her monologue. Unceremoniously, she'd toss the clothes onto the counter by the sink, letting the janior pick out whatever she preferred, "You can keep em all if you like 'em, it's fine.", at that moment though, she couldn't help but think back to the... Very ravenous fashion in which she disposed of those corpses, enough to scratch her cheek and add another tidbit, "If you wanna brush your teeth, i have some new brushes in the first drawer. Just help yourself." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

Kasey didn't think twice about the smell of the house, finding it perfectly normal in her own line of work. Often she would find a few bits of the scum and trash using the same things before their jobs, and often she would find herself getting involved. But her own take would always be far more than the strongest they had. her own body resisting the toxins and damage to herself. Her own body repairing faster than she would enjoy her high. Almost every hit had to be enough to sedate a horse or a bear, and even then she needed more... As she walked, a cat would appear from the darkness of the house, only to brush past her to head to Kanna. It was strange, to have an animal, but if the cat had no issue with such a thing, neither would have Kas. . . . . . As she showered, she ran her boney hands through her hair, the soap seeping into her wounds. She would grit her teeth, trying to not let out a sound as she cleaned the remaining blood off of her body. As she would rinse once more, she would turn off the shower, only to pick up each article of clothing and wring them out to allow them to dry much sooner. She would peek from behind the curtain, only allowing her good eye to see the girl drop off the clothing in the bathroom. She was all too thankful for such a thing, and would greatly repay the favor. She would remember all she could about the girl, and give her a gift of clothing the next time, or perhaps she would at least clean up a bit of the house. Nodding as the girl suggested to clean her teeth, but Kasey would ultimately refuse. The taste that lingered behind her lips was one she had learned to enjoy, crave almost. She was not bloodthirsty by any means, but to her, blood was just as much as a delicacy as fine wine. Too much was bad for you, but in moderation it was a great way to wind down, as well as enjoy life. Tossing her dampened clothing over the top of the curtain, she would allow them to dry. Holding the figure still in her hands, she would make her way out of the shower to set it on the lavatory of the sink. She would look up at the fogged mirror, only to find no desire as to how she looked. She would reach up to her head with her left hand only to touch and feel the horns that were there. With a sigh, she could only imagine how inhuman she looked to Kanna, even in a world full of quirks. "What do you intend to do?" Setsuna would ask her, curious to the goal of the girl. "Stay the night. We can go back to the school tomorrow, and hopefully I'm not fired. We'll find Susumu and see if she can find out about Sato before we ask him some questions too." She answered him. There wasn't much to her thought. Taking the clothing, she would slide them over her feet and dress her bottom first. "Your greatest concern is your jobs right now?" the voice of the spirit asked again, the sound of his voice confined to her mind alone. "Yeah. That's why we're here in the first place. I just didn't think we were making so much so fast. . . Why didn't you learn to count?" she asked him, knowing his own mind was capable of learning other traits. "I have no reason to. What do I have to count?""Well maybe the fact that I tried to pay for something that was only a little bit, with over three million in cash. Ugh. I bet they still think I'm an idiot." She scolded herself, fulling realizing how much of a fool she must have made of herself trying to pay a few thousand yen in rent with nearly three million in cash cases, as well as gold bars. Taking the bra from the pile of clothing she held it against herself, only to try and fasten it. Squeezing herself, as well as trying to breathe deep, or even exhaling didn't seem to work. She would set it aside, finding that it was much too small for herself. With a sigh, she looked up at the dampened clothing, only to take one of the long cloth bandages she had stitched. Wringing it out again, she would begin to wrap herself in it, covering her chest, her hair still wet having not been touched by the towel yet. Kasey knew well by now that her horns would happily turn a towel into the same bandages she used for her wounds. After doing do, she would hold her hands in front of her, only to find a familiar pulpy like substance covering the thin layer of tissue with her hands. Again, she sighed, fully realizing the mess she had dragged a student into. Taking another bandage, she would pull it, tearing it in half to shorten the length of it. She would tie up her hair into a loose pony tail before taking the towel to dry her face and the back of her head. Patting herself down, she would dry herself before pulling the shirt over herself. She would exit the bathroom into the girl's bedroom, only to begin to pick up laundry with her hands carefully. She would begin to carry them to the basket of what seemed to be dirty laundry and toss them at it, landing next to it. With a single eye, her depth perception was pretty much gone. She would have gone as far to fold her laundry as well, but was not one to invade privacy. Who knows what could have been hidden away in the drawers. If Kanna was in the room, or when she entered when Kasey was done, she would greet her with a bow, only to thank her. "Thank you for coming to my rescue, Miss Kanna." she would say to her, "I will gladly repay my debt to you, tomorrow." She would tell her, all before she would shower. Kasey would find herself bored soon, and she was aware of that. She had to think of something to busy herself with. What if Kanna did not like her room to be cleaned? "Do you have a phone I could use, to tell my sister that I'm alright?" she would ask. The headless figure of her brother in her hands as the head of him still rested on the bathroom sink. She could make things out of bone, but it wasn't like her blood was glue or anything. ~ Word Count: 1134 ~ |
