WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy It was a phrase that many different countries had, in one way or another. Misery loves company. It was to signify, that once something had gone poorly, there was typically a followup disaster right on the horizon too. The only positive in all of this mess, was that at least it couldn't get any worse. The only thing illuminating the girl's path, was the gentle light reflect off of the moon. It made the silken white dress on her frame stand out in the dark. Little more than twenty-eight hours ago, the dress had been whole. Pure, serene, beautiful. It was the dress she had been in, when she had performed at the maid café. It was part of the whole image that people had called beautiful. Like it was an extension of herself in those moments. Now, it had ripped in several places. In many ways, the cloth was still beautiful. Elegant, soft, smooth. Something had ruined it. The rips were long and deep. Even a skilled tailor would struggle repairing it, let alone avoid leaving visible marks. In many ways, the dress was ruined, irrepairable. A rag no one could ever use productively again. Just like the person wearing the dress. The belt that had been around her waist had been discarded ages ago. Rin wasn't even sure where it had went. Not really caring enough about it to be bothered either. It wasn't like it mattered. Rin was absolutely filthy at this point. For hours, the girl had been walking around, aimlessly, not quite sure what to do with herself. The few individuals that had noticed her, had raised their eyebrows, asking if she was okay; Of course she was okay. Never been better!
There was too far to walk, if the girl wanted to make her way all the way to Yuuei. From where the girl was, there was easily another hour or so with her current pace. Twenty minutes on a good day. Given that her feet were hurting more with every passing moment, that pace was unlikely to be kept, even despite how slowly she moved. Even if Rin had a complete disregard for the pain she felt, her body didn't share that property. The hunger was consuming, she was wobbly on her legs, stepping across stone and whatever else people had tossed onto the sidewalk in bare feet, was not doing her any favors. Despite being summer, the nights could still get cold, especially when wearing as little as she did. These streets though. Rin had been there a few times before. The rich quarters, before one entered the shopping district. It was out here that Ryuusei lived. The girl's fingers were shaking as she glanced at herself. No. Rin could not go there. Not looking miserable like this. They were such a nice family. They had opened their doors for her on multiple occasions. Like a family Rin had never gotten to have. This current Rin would only bring them sadness. They wouldn't want her like this. So broken... They already struggled with Yaso-chan. They'd be devastated.. They deserved to be happy. So, Rin would walk on, not burdening them with her existance any longer.
A cold gust of wind sent shivers through the girl's spine. Wrapping her arms around herself, she gazed at their home again. Warmth, kindness, help. Rin had once told Jasmine, that there was more shame in not relying on people to assist with your burdens, than there was shame in admitting being weak. That it was to humiliate the Igarashi by not seeking their help. Like stating they wouldn't be capable of managing. Conflicted, Rin ended up sitting outside the gate, knees tucked up to her chest, doing her best to stay warm. How long the girl sat there weighing her options, she didn't know....... but at almost three in the night, she finally rang the door bell, remaining seated in her spot. If one press of the bell didn't wake anyone up, she'd... just walk to Yuuei. Yeah.. That seemed reasonable...

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings It was very late, but, as usual, Ryuusei Igarashi as still awake. He was a night owl and, most of the times, had problems with insomnia, which made his sleeping pattern a complete mess. Him looking complete unaware of the world around was not only a conscious option but also a result of this condition. He didn't really mind it though: after many years dealing with it, he got used it and saw the advantage of being able to do alot of stuff that, otherwise, would be impossible to do in only one day. Both Hiroko and Minato were asleep on their rooms. If one walked by, it would be possible to hear a loud snoring. One could immediately think that such noise could only come from Minato, but they would be wrong: it was actually Hiroko. Ryuusei laughed everytime he heard his mom loud snoring, remembering the time both him and Yaso both got their detective hats on and went inside their parents room, only to discover their mom covering the whole bed and breathing loudly, this while Minato slept curled up in a little corner of the bed with earplugs on. Those were good times... Ryuusei had been reading the new book he had bought at the Kabukicho area. "Heroes, Villains and Me", a compliations of hand-written personal notes by Nanno Nanigashi, the same author who had written the infamous "An Analysis of an Hero Society: Failure Waiting to Happen", a kind of forbidden book that Ryuu had already read. Just like that one, those notes had some special magic that allured Ryuu to them. Nanno's main point on those notes was the idea of one being a prisoner of other dreams and the importance of assuming the role of a player in the game of life - not a spectator but also not a leader: someone who loved the game and it's consequences. This was all, of course, related to the foundation of a hero society and the mistake such thing was. Reading the notes, it was like reading the surpressed part of his mind. At each page, Ryuu could only think one thing: I have to meet this man.He stopped at around one am though. Reading that paper also meant remembering the night in which Ryuu bought it. And that night... no one should ever find out about it. Yes, it wasn't like the memory of it made Ryuu unconfortable, it was the opposite: even after a few days passed by after killing that thug, Ryuusei Igarashi still felt nothing. Maybe even worse: he didn't feel like he had done something particularly wrong. Yeah, he had to be careful to not feed that part of his brain too much. So, still being unable to sleep, he did what it fit him best: playing videogames. He went downstair, since there he was able to make the noises he wanted more freely without fear of waking his parents up. It was a medieval strategy game, where Ryuu played the role of a mercenary leader that pushed through the ranks in order to achieve greatness. At the point of the game at which Ryuu was, one more win and he would be granted the title of knight. However, in the middle of a decisive battle, the bell rang. Ryuu paused the game. Was that the door? he asked to himself, being that someone appearing at the Igarashi household at around three am was quite... well, weird. He got up in order to look at the monitor. Through that, he could clearly see who it was. Rin?!He hadn't seen her or talked to her since what happened at the Honey Honey Maid Cafe, but he didn't find that weird. Afterall, it was only a day or so ago and, after what the events that transpired there, he thought that she needed space and not having someone pressuring her. It was for this reason that, even after receiving a message from the girl a few minutes after she left the cafe asking to meet the day after, Ryuu didn't find weird that the girl didn't show up. He even received a message from Jasmine asking where Rin was, but the girl also not knowing where Rin was wasn't surprising: if the saphire eyed girl wanted to be alone, that also meant the girl she loved. He was going to call Rin the next day to see how she was doing, but for her to appear at that hour... that totally seemed weird. He opened the main gate, allowing Rin to pass through and rushed himself outside, not even taking the time to put his shoes on. When he saw the girl approaching... What the...She was wearing the same clothes from the Cafe event, but it was all destroyed. Her body seemed weak and hurt, even if not visible. By how her hair was a mess and completely tangled, it also seemed that she han't showered since that day. The rips from the dress were what Ryuu paid the most attention though... The way they were ripped seemed by hand and she also didn't have any kind of cuts underneath those cuts... One of the bigger cuts was at the lower part of the dress... Rin's eyes... Ryuusei was too smart and had read too many criminal books to not, at least, imagine what had happened. Asking if everything was fine or what happened would just be insulting. So, instead, Ryuu just did his best to make Rin feel home. Come, it's wam inside - he smiled, expecting Rin to follow him - If you want to shower or change you know where everything is, I'll be by the kitchen making my special hot chocolate for us both.Ryuu's words were kind and soft but, inside is heart, a raging storm was brewing: Who did that to her?!Notes: --- Words: 979. WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy There were no stars in the sky. The canvas above was an expansive darkness, small sparks of light swallowed by clouds. A cool breeze was toying with her hair, goosebumps spreading across her skin, reminding her that she was in fact still alive. Unfortunately. Time crept by, without the girl really having any clue of it passing. Had it been seconds, minutes or hours since she rang the bell..? Before there was anyone from the Igarashi household to greet her, the gate simply popped open for her. This prompted the raven haired female to turn her head, curiously looking, as a shadow began taking form from the household. Someone was approaching. Scrambling around a little, the girl got to her feet, panting a little, as if the mere act of getting up standing was physically exhausting. Rin remained at the gate, despite it being opened for her. Standing there, awkwardly looking at her own feet. "...I'm sorry if I woke you up.. I can leave if you'd prefer.." The girl said in a soft, guilt ridden tone. If Ryuusei was attuned to his emotions at all, the sheer force behind the girl's guilty feelings could've knocked him on his rear. Ryuusei however, wasn't asking any strange questions. In fact, he hardly reacted to seeing Rin in the state she was currently in. Just giving off his usual, caring vibe. Taking a soft breath, the girl barely nodded at him as a reply. There was hardly any emotion behind it, hardly any recognition. Following in his footsteps, they returned to the house together.Rin was all too aware that she likely smelt horrible. In fact, Rin could easily smell herself, something that assisted in maintaining that nauseus sensation at the back of her throat. Rin needed to empty her stomach. A matter her body had been pressing onto her for a while, with her having refused to give in. It was a scent of sin, filth, and the debauchery of others. Behind the raven haired female, the door closed. The light of the indoors revealing her truly miserable form. The stains on the dress, from sweat, drool and... only god knew what else, revealing itself in the shimmer. The bottom of the dress was covered in whatever filth was at the wayside as she had been walking. Mud, dirt. The bit of the dress that had occasionally touched the ground, as her high heels had been discarded, were torn. "...I'll go try to get clean, then..." Rin spoke almost mechanically, as if she truly didn't believe she could ever be clean. Whether Ryuusei knew what had happened, piecing the things together or not, hardly mattered. Nothing really mattered. The shower was on, the running water dripping calmly. Even attempting to get the dress off proved troublesome, as it stickily stuck to her skin. As Rin began taking off her underwear, the tension in her body skyrocketed. The nauseating feeling finally overpowered her, as the toilet became her reprieve. Gasping for air, she hurled, forced to her knees, grasping at the toilet seat to keep steady. For a solid few minutes, Rin was completely stuck, unable to go elsewhere. Perhaps Ryuusei had heard the reaction of her body over the running waters. Perhaps the waters dulled out the sound. Rin didn't particularly care. It made no difference. The shower was a mixed experience. It was akin to having a shell surrounding her body, slowly being washed away. The tangled hair came free with every stroke. The horrible smell replaced by the scent of soap. Despite this, no matter how much of this was removed, Rin still felt filthy. Scrubbing, brushing, soaping, none of it made a difference. The girl was still disgusting, filthy, pathetic, stinking, no matter what the outside world thought of her. Cleaning her feet was easily the worst part. The soap stung in all the small cuts she had gotten from walking around barefoot. At least, with it being clean, it wouldn't easily get infected. Stepping out of the shower, Rin borrowed a set of clothes, just like the last time she had been there. A large, puffy teddybear stretched across her chest with a dumb smile on it's face. A stark contrast to the girl's emotionless face. Leaving the bathroom, more than half an hour had passed... perhaps a full hour? Rin couldn't tell.Sitting down at their dinnertable, the usual sapphire blue eyes were nothing more than blue colored glass. Looking at him, Rin was still apologetic... about everything. The girl's tone or demeanor had not changed even a bit from when he had met her at the gate. "I'm sorry it took so long... did the chocolate get cold..? I'm sorry if it did."

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings The bathroom door closed. Inisde, Rin Kurama prepared herself for what would certainely be a painful bath. On the outside, Ryuusei Igarashi sat on the floor, crawled up with his arms wrapped around his knees and his back leaning against the door. It was like seeing someone get shot right by your side: you see the pain, you feel sorry and want to help but the reality is that you can't actually feel a thing. The sound of Rin vomiting, the amount of time she took under the falling water while her words echoed on Ryuu's head: "I'll go try to get clean, then" ... He wanted to share her pain, but it was impossible. All he could really do was being there for her, even if she didn't really aknowledged how important that could be at the moment, even if she was numb to all emotions: afterall, uncounsciously or not, her body's first response was walking to the Igarashi household. When the water finally stopped, Ryuu got up and headed to the kitchen. He prepared the hot chocolate with care, just the way his sister had taught him some years ago. Ryuusei couldn't cook at all, but his mother always told that his hot chocolate was the best in the world. As Rin sat down at the dinner table, Ryuu appeared with one mug on each hand. He sat down in front of the girl, putting one of the mugs in front of her and the other one near himself. Doing so, he responded to Rin. It's at a perfect temperature, don't worry - he said placing the mug in front of her. Then, looking at her with a soft smile, he added - And even if it was cold you wouldn't have to be sorry, Rin-chan, he tilted his head. After that, he remained silent. It was just the two of them, a bright light shining above them in the closed room. Silence always felt good with Rin, but this was wasn't much about feeling good: it was about feeling right. No words could make her feel better and Ryuu understood that. If she wanted to open up, it would be at her own time and pace - Ryuu wouldn't force a thing. If she didn't want to talk, that would be fine too. He just needed her to know that Ryuu was there, that he would always would be. So, with that all in mind, the teen who was wearing an all grey silk pajama just made conversation, just like they both did at that same place so many times before. So, is my hot chocolate any good or does my mom just lie to me every time she tastes it? he jokingly asked before sipping a little bit more. Notes: --- Words: 463. Tags: Rin Kurama

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Sitting there, things were finally calming down some. A hint of normalcy. That is, if one chose to ignore the late hour. In front of the raven haired female, sat Ryuusei, quiet as always. Perhaps a little less quiet than he usually was. The heated mug was placed in front of her, it steamed at the top. Reaching out, she wrapped her hands around the mug. The warmth spreading through her fingers and palms at an alarming rate. It almost burnt her. This chocolate had been prepared for exactly when Rin had left the shower. There was no doubt he had been waiting for her to mostly finish up. Their conversation quickly drifted towards the chocolate. It seemed an almost ludicrusly pointless topic. On the flipside, it was something Rin could actually partake in, without constantly running into things she wouldn't be able to formulate. Lifting the mug to her lips, the raven haired female took a sufrace-deep sip. The warmth of the chocolate almost burnt her skin and tongue. It was like a breath of life finding it's way down her body, resonating. The taste was sweet, yet chocolate-y. If Rin was to have made it, she'd have probably left it more water-y. It was kind of nice to have a proper chocolate taste to it. Even if it was far too sweet for her to drink multiple cups. Placing the mug down, her glass blue eyes slowly lifted to meet Ryuusei's."It's not bad." Rin stated, in a simple, emotionless fashion. It was incredibly difficult for the girl to be positive or enthusiastic about anything. "Hiroko-san didn't lie." Looking at the cup, silence befell the two of them again. Rin was struggling, attempting to figure out what the girl could and couldn't say. What Rin should and shouldn't say. On one hand, the girl had no desire to upset or involve Ryuusei into something that could only cause him pain. On the other, she owed him some kind of explanation as to how she had ended up at his doorstep middle of the night. Staring at the chocolate, a few moments passed, before Rin finally managed to break the silence. Even then, the girl's attempt was very shaky."I had a bit of a rough night, thanks for letting me in..." Rin spoke, in a soft, half broken voice. Scratching her cheek, she really wasn't certain where to go from there. It was eating her up inside not being able to just speak. To feel like her own emotions were preventing her from talking, having to find roundabout ways of communicating. "...That music night didn't turn out so great, huh.." Nope. It was impossible for her to break that cocoon. Impossible for her to speak openly. Impossible for her mind to even accept that it happened. Ryuusei was better off not knowing, she told herself. At least then he wouldn't be hurt that someone else he cared for suffered. At least Rin wouldn't be another Yaso in his life. So, instead of focussing on her own misery, she asked him about his. "...Did you fare okay?... What Jasmine-chan did was... not the smartest..."

I often feel like a butterfly with broken wings In silence, Ryuusei watched Rinkusu place her hands around the mug - just like she was cuddling up near a warm fire. Taking the cue, Ryuu himself started to drink the hot chocolate he had made for himself. As they both finished their first sip - almost like mirroring each other - Rin looked back at Ryuu's, responding to his earlier comment. Her voice, however, was different, just like her eyes: they both seemed almost... dead. Such thing only made Ryuu more sure that his guess of what happened was probably right and that... that scared him, alot. Without responding, he sipped once again during the void of sound that once again was imposed inside the room. Ryuu was confortable with it though. When Rin wanted to talk, Ryuu would talk, about whatever she wanted to, not pressuring her into anything. And so, she talked, thanking him for having let her in. It really was Rin in front of him. He quickly responded: That's what friends do, you don't need to thank me for it - he said in a calm and warm voice, unlike what the rest of the world saw from him... like he only showed to Rin - Besides, this is your home too so you're always welcome here, he added with a smile, before putting the hot mug near his lips once more. And now, after thanking him, she was worried about him. More specifically, worried for him beause of what happened a couple of days before at the Honey Honey Cafe. That precious and beautiful girl, that wonderful soul... even in the state she was in she cared enough to put herself to the side and care about the one in frontof her. Some would found something pure in such characteristic - and, partially, they would be right. However, Ryuu saw something entirely different: sadness, a dark and deep sadness. Rin...Oh, that... - he chuckled a bit while scratching his hair with his index finger, like it was a memory from long ago - I'm fine, don''t even worry about that. I'm sure Jasmine's intentions were good, she just has that... let's say, special personality. Yoru was also there to give me a little wake up call, so everything really is okay.Another silence. Another sip of the hot chocolate. It was almost empty. Your usual bedroom is ready, so if you want you can also sleep here. Would that be okay?Hiroko always made sure that bedroom was ready for Rin. That way, everytime she came over, things would always be prepared for the girl to stay for the night. Ryuu's parents liked Rin a lot, so Ryuu was sure that they wouldn't mind her being there without any previous warning. The way Ryuu worded the phrase... it wasn't much of a question, but more of a request for her to stay the night. The way she was... Ryuusei would never wanter to leave during the night, walking all the way to Yuuei. And, if she stayed, perhaps it could ease the pain al ittle... if only one percent. Notes: ---Words: 516.
