Again, she rested her head against the frame of the door. She stood there, unsure if it was something she was permitted to do. Was it right? Would it only harm her more? Would the sight of such a girl bring back memories of the attack? She wanted, no, she needed her to recover. If she was unwell, then she would not have time to love Gigi. If he was unloved, then what good was she? Was was the point to hold Setsuna back? If she wasn't going to love him, she might have well just had died. ". . . I still think the flowers are a bit much."
"I wasn't going to come empty handed this time."
"You came with flowers every time."
"Well this time I have a gift too."The battle between them, was no longer. There was no reason for a conflict. Big Sister had no longer become their enemy. What was she going to do in a hospital room? There was no way to monitor, and to see her privileges in the chat change once more, confirmed it. This green haired girl was the one in change of them. This green haired girl was the one that puppeted all of them. But she was fine being a marionette. After all, she had her own puppet, one whose strings were hers alone to pull. She did not wear a dress. She did not wear scrubs. She wore a simple black suit. Her white dress shirt would be covered by a plain black tie. She had left her had with the receptionists. And still, her silver hair was unkempt and pressed against the frame of the door. In her right were colored roses, all except the colors white and black. In her right was a black wrapped present, a long thin box wrapped with a bow. Sato had sent her this time, not only as his representative to Big Sister, but also as a relative. If she was her emergency contact's sibling, there would be no argument. And if there was, she was an employee of the man who owned the hospital to begin with. For once, she would push past the door, only to stop there. Was it right of her to enter without announcing herself? Was of right of her to stop by like this? Would she even be remembered with her silver hair now? No. She was only missing an eye, she wasn't stupid. An eye. . .An eye for an eye. Yes. That was the answer. That was what caused all of this. Kasey was going to be the solution. ~ Word Count: 438 ~ |

Susumu was no longer bedridden. She was able to get up and walk around the hospital room, though she was still told to stay until her eye socket was healed enough for them to fit her for a proper replacement. But she knew it was just lip service at this point. Odds were the police were digging around after Nick Cross' claim that he had attacked her while under the influence of QED, and that she had some criminal activity under her belt. The little snitch. Now she was here while cops sniffed out any clues they could find to make her the bad guy.
Maybe she deserved this. All the horrible shit she had been up to, now she might actually get in trouble for some of it. At the same time she had already lost a goddamn eyeball, so was it really necessary?
Fuckers.
It was while she was standing at the window looking out at Tokyo with her single green eye that she heard the door behind her open without even a knock. She turned expected a number of people; G, again, dropping by to keep her company; her mother or father here to chew out her so-called "rebellious" phase--though they hadn't come since the first visit, she wouldn't put it past them; or Amadeus once more to bring her some food that didn't taste like imitation gray-matter. But it wasn't any of those people. Instead it took her a moment to recognize the visitor.
Despite the silver hair, however, those horns and those eyes were impossible to mistake. Susumu pursed her lips into a thin line.
"...Kasey-san, and Setsuna-san I suppose. You could have knocked." Susumu's voice was curt, but not angry. It was strange that she came to visit her, given how their last interactions had played out, and how she had been the one to finally out Susumu's identity to G. Had she come to visit before he had, Susumu may have just called security to remove her, or...worse. But as it were, despite all that had happened...she still had G at her side, and Kasey didn't seem to mind.
She just couldn't understand Kasey. Why expose Susumu if she wasn't doing so to keep G away in the first place? Did she know they were back together? If so, did she approve? And again if so, then why had Setsuna attacked her back then?
It didn't make sense.
Still, despite her confusion, Susumu sighed and turned back to the window. "...if you wanna talk, or whatever, then do it without that sour look on your face. You look like you have a lemon tree shoved down your throat. So. What, are you here as yourself, or for Ketsujo? Because that tit knows he's not getting anything out of me right now. No way I'm talking business while I'm in his fucking hospital."

That would have been a normal thing that a normal person would have done. Why did she fail at such simple things. As she mentioned knocking, Kasey turned around shyly to face the door, her head turning, while her body faced forward. She did not yell, or seem to scold her. She knew that tone. It was one too familiar with failure. That was what she was. She was a failure. She stood there, and she would face the window again. Her words would continue to cut what felt like wounds that would never heal. She turned back to face the back of her. She had failed. She was a failure. She was just a tool to everyone. "My apologies." she would say, slowly taking another step closer to her. She was not going to get any closer than she was allowed. It was part of her rules. Her sacred rules... "I assumed you were still induced. I didn't want to wake you.... but I can see that is not the case." She would hang her head, not wanting to even go as far as look her in her eyes, even if it was the back of her head. She would make her way to the bed, only to set both of the gifts upon it. After doing so, Kasey would take a step backwards, to create more distance. "Step once, uninvited." She thought to herself. Reciting her code. "Unless you are entering the home of your enemy." Setsuna continued. The flowers lay there beside the box, the both of them lined up. It didn't matter if she opened the gift now, or later. But all that mattered was that she delivered. "I wanted to come, of my own choice." she admitted to her. "But Sato wanted someone to personally deliver his gift as well. I had seen the record when-" She stopped herself. She didn't need to speak of her job, or how she even found out. She did not meet with Gigi since his day Sato's estate. She had not even thought about this since the last time they met. She didn't even look at the chatroom that Susu had created. She had wiped her hands clean of it all . . . until this moment. "I actually came here every day..." Kasey continued, her head bowed. It was often she had made her stop either before or after she had gotten off work. She had came with flowers every day, but had left and tossed them into the trash on her way out. Never had she knocked, not even today. She had silently forced her way inside, knowing it was the only way she would even allow herself the strength to do so. "I wanted to apologize, for Setsuna." For the attack. She had came to say sorry for it. But not the words, not what she had told the white haired man. She was never sorry. Kasey never regretted anything. The box lay there, the contents unknown to Kasey. The same bouquet Kasey had picked the first time, was resting beside it. The box did not make a sound when she walked, as nothing in it was loose. But never did she think to look inside. But when the green haired woman pulled the bow and opened the lid, she would find the contents: It would be a simple black card, the inside of it just the same. The writing inside of it would be white, just like the hair of the people in her life. Sato was a man of class, and even a simple note needed to be lavish. Under the card, would be a foam case, one that would have black silk covering the real gift. A single, black blade would rest in the box, one that was sharpened to a fine edge. He had found the files he was looking for, and now that he knew the truth, he wanted to play a game. One that ended with bloodshed. ~ Word Count: 719 ~ |

The sight of Kasey looking so scared or ashamed to be here only irritated Susumu more. It didn't help when she admitted that she had wanted to come in while Susumu was still drugged up or unconscious to...what, just drop off the gifts and leave? Why even bother then? Maybe Kasey felt like it was her fault for how everything had turned out. Which was true to some degree. If Kasey hadn't originally hired Susumu to stalk Miku, leading to the first enormous fight Susumu and G had that messed everything up, then he would have never slept with Sophie. Susumu would have kept a cool head--she hoped--and eventually revealed who she was to G without him nearly strangling her or trying to turn them in to the police.
A lot of things could have been avoided had she never existed.
Susumu sighed and came up to the bed and picked up the bouquet of roses. A weird choice for a friendly visit, and they must have been a number of colors--though Susumu could only see that they were a gradient of different shades of gray. Still. It was better than a potted plant, at least. "Well then let's forget about AlmightyPerv and just talk. I'm not interested in what he has to say. Too busy being hospitalized." She placed the bouquet on the little side-table by the bedside and picked up the box next. Weird. It was too flat to be a bottle of wine, not that she could drink on her medication anyway. What was inside?
Curiosity got the better of her and she opened it while listening to Kasey apologizing for the actions of the thing that lived inside of her. "Yeah, about that. How much conscious thought does that thing have, different from you? Because G and Goliath have enough separating their minds that I'd say they aren't the same person. Before I go accepting any apologies, I just want to know how much of Setsuna's little show was it...him...them, and how much of it was you telling them to kill me?"
She set aside the card with a roll of her eyes, and pulled the silk back.
...hm. Not what I was expecting. At least it's PG-13.
Susumu pulled out the blade by its hilt, but kept the pointed edge downward, rather than holding it up in a threatening manner. It was a very pretty knife, though she had never had an eye (hah) for that sort of thing. Definitely not a cooking utensil, this one. This was for one thing.
"...wow, what a prick. Is he expecting me to stab you, or something? Shouldn't have been putting me on sedatives for so long, then, Mr. Smartass." Susumu scoffed, and tossed the knife carelessly into the pillow at the top of the bed. She gave the box one more check for any other surprises before tossing it into the bin next to the bed. She then looked back at Kasey, then at the knife, and, for a moment, was silent.
Like she was...considering.
She then pushed the knife by its hilt into the bin as well.
"Obviously he doesn't have cameras in these rooms, or he would know I have no more reasons to hurt you. I mean, yeah, what you told G got me this," she pointed to her covered left eye as flippantly as possible, "But that was probably going to happen because of some horrible choice I made, whether or not you gave it a kick in the ass. You exposed my identity. That...made something that was on a slow roll to ending in horrible disaster just hit that part faster. But you're not the cause of that. G and I...we already talked. And figured that out."
"So...I'm still not sure I forgive Setsuna for trying to eat me, but...I can forgive you two for telling G the truth. If only because I don't think I could have myself, with the way things were going. So. Thanks, too."
Maybe it was the drugs, or maybe it was her trying, trying so very hard, to be a better person for the one she loved. But at least she meant it.

It was her fault. If she wasn't here, if she didn't exist... If she had never met him, he would have never taken her into the house. But that would not change who she was. She was still Big Sister, and she was still someone who picked on him in chat. Could they still love each other if Kasey had not reached into places she shouldn't have? Without Kasey, the syndicate of Sato would be much less successful. Without her, the world would just be a better place. At least, he wouldn't be hurting. At least she would be able to see... or had she only been someone to make the world speed up? But they had talked already. Of course. That man was full of more love than he could ever hate. But for a moment, Kasey wondered; What if she had met Gigi before Susumu had? Would she had become his interest? Could they ever have been as close as they were? What if another girl had met him before Kasey had? was she simply just the wrong person at the wrong time? What if she was someone else... If she didn't exist. This would would not know pain. But what about them? No, without her, the world would know pain, they would still bear the weight. But a world without Setsuna... was a dull one. "She has forgiven, even as much as thanked the truth."". . . ""Kasey?"". . . "She stood there, her mind racing, skipping over the fact of the blade and that she had chosen not to use it. Or the fact that she had brought a weapon for her own proposed death. Kasey stood there, trying to absorb all that was in front of her. "He is happy then..." she would speak softly, her head bowed. It was all that mattered to her. The green haired vixen was just someone to help ease what his life was, while the silver haired demon was the metaphorical, as well as literal hand that pushed things along. "Then we have no other reason to continue." she spoke, not about the conversation, but of her own goals. She did not care for Big Sister anymore, but if she had come to this point, she was no longer a villain. She was someone Gigi loved. For now, she was just another innocent caught by misfortune. "But Susumoo," Kasey began, she would look up, only for a small, shy and strange smile to find its way to her lips. "What would make you happy?"~ Word Count: 429 ~ |

Susumu took the silence as a chance to sit back down on the hospital bed and stretch her whole body out with a few creaks and snaps of her aching body. She was still getting used to being back on her feet after the surgery, though depth perception was the real victim and not her ability to move. With her head rested on the pillow Susumu crossed her ankles and placed her hands over each other on her stomach, single eye still on Kasey and her odd half-sentences. She hadn't explained how much of her thought process influenced Setsuna. So had she wanted Susumu dead, or...what? And if so what changed? Was this really all for G's sake?
Her words seemed to confirm that thought process. Susumu shrugged. "If you say so. I mean, I think he'll be happier, but happiness doesn't just happen in an instant. We're both working towards it. That's all."
Then Kasey asked her a question that actually gave her pause. what would make Susumu happy? She looked from Kasey to the ceiling, then closed her good eye with a small exhale of breath. "Loaded question. I would charge for that information, if I was on the clock. But...since I owe you one already for cancelling on you..." What a dumb excuse, she just didn't feel like turning her down right now. Too tired.
"...if I had been born to parents who were kinder. If I G's father were a good man, and didn't hurt him. If I had made real friends growing up instead of plastic ones. If I had learned to feel things back when I should have instead of crashing into them at this age. If we had met one another as better people, without any of this pain and nonsense. If we had met before they convinced us life was war. Or do you want something easier?" Susumu laughed dryly. "If I could make that pink-haired wretch pay for seducing him that evening on the beach. Not you. The...whore of a nurse at U.A. Sophie something. But I promised G I was trying to be a better person, and killing that bitch wouldn't help."
A moment of silence passed. Then Susumu turned her head just enough for her eye to peek at Kasey's expression, curiously.
"Why do you ask, Kasey?"

Happiness. It was still a concept she did not even begin to understand. She did not understand the concept of families until an ivory haired man decided to take her to his house for a small meal and booze. Which, to any normal reasonable person, was the set up to a strange, and horrible tale to repeat later. But to Kasey, it was a point that changed her life, a point where she wanted to be a hero. Happiness did not happen over night, or under any short period of time. Like plants, they grew. They needed water, they needed light, attention. You needed to check up on them and make sure you did not over water, or deprive them of such a thing. but some plants thrived when you gave them less, while others needed your constant attention. People, were like plants. But then she talked about canceling something on Kasey. Canceling what? Charge? What was she charging? Did Kasey pay her? No, that made no sense. Surely it was one of those joke or pun things everyone referred to. Humor was an odd thing. She would listen to the green haired girl, only to ponder the idea of parents. Even if theirs were cruel, at least they knew where they came from. Kasey had only a twin sister, one that told her near to nothing about their truth. Why were they separated? Why did they meet now? Why was she twisted, and who was to say Kasey wasn't as well? She wanted friends, Kasey could be a friend. But she could be more, she could be family. They pained, they were discovering the same feelings Kasey was. They were broken, like Kasey. They, like any bones, needed time to mend. They needed to heal. They needed the world around them to allow them to do such a thing. Kasey, from this point, had just decided that she would be the shield to protect them from the cruelty of the world. No one would know pain anymore. Only love. But then she spoke of a pink haired wrench. What did tools have to do with this? Was it not a tool you used to tighten or loosen nuts? Whose nuts was being loosened? . . . A nurse? At the school? Killing? She wondered the reason for it, the reason for her feelings. but silence would pass, and her head would race. "Because I want to see." she would tell her, "I want to see what it is like to be like you." She would smile, taking a step towards the hospital bed. See. Sight. Seen. Vision. She had read the files. She knew what worked, and what tests she already undergone. She was not the fool everyone believed she was. She just saw the world in shades of red. The same red that poured from bodies. "I am a janitor. A maid. I have learned to clean up many messes that are not mine." she would say, her words almost lined, coated, drenched in a venomous, poisonous tone. "And I will make sure Setsuna will help me this time. Would that make you happy?"~ Word Count: 526 ~ |

The offer was met with silence.
Kasey was offering to kill Sophie, and not leave a single trace of what had occurred. That was it, plain and simple, and the mere thought of it made Susumu's eye widen and her heart-rate increase. That...that was what she'd wanted, wasn't it? To have that temptress erased from the world, so she would never be there to catch G ever again should something go wrong. So she couldn't bat those pretty eyes and try to steal his heart. Because G belonged to her, not to some petty whore. The idea of her being shredded into little bite-sized pieces by the monster she'd seen in Gil's apartment was more than simply appealing.
Susumu's lips parted, half a thought on her lips, and then they closed.
"...no. No, it wouldn't, because it wouldn't make Gil-kun happy." She turned onto the side of her body that face away from Kasey--pressing her good eye into her pillow--and folded her arms over her chest. "I swore to G that Big Sister would be neutral from now on, and that means myself as well. Even if I'm not getting my own hands bloody, I can't just let another person go off and kill someone who doesn't really deserve it. And Sophie is a cunt, don't get me wrong, but..."
Her teeth ground in her mouth, like her body was actively trying to keep her from speaking her next words aloud, but she still managed it: "She's a hero. She's doing good. Or trying to, anyway. She's more of a hero than that dickweed Nick Cross, but even he's still claiming to be one. So no. As much as I would enjoy the sight of her blood painting the walls, it wouldn't make me happy to know you or anyone else killed her on my order. Or even off my order. Just...look, Kasey? And Setsuna?"
"There are other things you can do to make people happy than killing."

Death. it was perhaps the only thing Kasey had understood. When you were killed, you are dead. When you die, you are dead. There is no second chance. There might be a life to be reborn into, but that life is gone. Once you're dead, you're dead. But cursed few walked that thin line between the realm of the living, and of the dead. Kasey believed herself to be an agent of this line. She found it to be her duty to pass judgement on all of the corrupt souls that happened to appear before her. Those that were tainted, she would remove all, and every trace of them. This question, was just another matter in her day. It wasn't about killing a high school nurse, but of passing judgement over someone who had done wrong. But the idea was passed, ignored and onced over. If it did not make Gigi happy, it would not make Susumu happy. Kasey was learning to understand that. They were a couple, and since recent events, they were now becoming one and the same. She would go one to further explain that Big Sister was no longer going to be the same villain. She was sounding more and more like those anonymous people, of which seemed to be a bit more pleasing to hear. But with the name of her, the name of a student would follow. "There are other things you can do to make people happy than killing."Those words. Of course it came from her. Kasey already had decided on such a thing. To her, it was nothing Kasey hadn't done before. She read the files, the record, the tests. She knew the success rate was high, but not certain. Sixty three percent. That was the number she was given. She knew it was close to the perfect hundred percent, but not close enough. With Susumu's back turned to the silver haired girl, Kasey's hand would reach up to her face. Her right palm would face the ceiling, as her wrist was pressed to her cheek. She had asked nicely once, but now she was ordering him."Do it."
"We don't know she will take it, much less if it will even work."
"I don't care."
"No. I'm not going to do it."She stood there in silence. Only for her fingers to crawl upon her face. If he wasn't going to make it easy, then she was going to do it herself. She understood enough basic anatomy to protect what she needed to protect. She knew enough about herself that as long as if was done in the next twelve hours, it would not rot beyond a point they could not save it. Her thumb would press on the outside of her nose, her nail digging into her flesh. Her socket would begin to soften, widen allowing her to grab... what she wanted. . . . She would pull it from herself, the nerves would be drawn out, and torn inches from behind the gift she was willing to give. A smile was now a ghost from her face as the red liquid begun to drip from her chin. She did not wince, she would not yelp. She would remove it in complete silence until she held it in her hands. "Then I hope this can make you happy, Susumoo." She would begin to take a step at a time, her left hand covering the open wound on her face. She would hold out the small organ in her hand as she would extend it to her brother's bride to be.She would have a good life. She would have a happy life. She would make a family with him. A family with him. A happy, happy family.~ Word Count: 628 ~Notes: Eye wanted to tell you something.... |

Susumu kept herself facing away from Kasey, even as silence settled between the two of them like snowflakes over scorched earth. She was still so confused by this girl. First she had outed her villainous identity to G to, what, make her confess the truth to him? It had worked, but the motivations were still tricky. And now she was offering to kill somebody for her?! That went in the wrong direction in terms of what little sense Kasey's actions had held. If she wanted Susumu to be a better person for G, then why encourage worse behavior like murder?
Even if she wasn't the one to do the killing herself, the feeling behind it would be the same, right? So--
What was that noise?
Susumu shot up from the bed and turned to look at Kasey as she heard something wet and fleshy snapping behind her, followed by the uncomfortably familiar sound of rushing blood. Oh. Oh no. Oh no no--
"WHAT THE FUCK, KASEY?!" Susumu shouted as she pushed up against the headboard of the bed, disgust and shock and fear mixing together in her expression and making her whole body go cold. Oh God. Oh no, oh God no, she had just ripped out her own eyeball and was holding it out to Susumu. Did she expect her to take it?! To, what, put it into her own socket?! What the fuck was wrong with her?! "PUT THAT DOWN! OR...BACK IN!? FUCKING SHIT--I'M CALLING A FUCKING NURSE RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON'T DO SOMETHING!!"
The sigh of the blood pouring from Kasey's eye socket made her face pale to the point of almost turning green. Her stomach was threatening to push itself up out through her mouth and spill all over the bed. Oh no. Oh God no. It was like seeing what Nick had done to her from the outside. And the smell of blood......Susumu couldn't help it. She clamped a hand over her mouth for just long enough to twist her body over the side of the bed and emptied her stomach into the bin.
Well, she tried, anyway. Most of it got onto the floor. At least the knife stayed clean, for whatever useless amount of good that did.

She was not a hero. She was not a villain. She was judgement. She would take action, when no one else could play their hand. She would be the final blow to end lives, so no one else would face the fear of death. Kasey knew the laws. She knew the punishment. But she knew what she had endured. The only punishment she would receive, was life in solitude. And if this world was better off without her when that time came... then she would enjoy her confinement. She would kill so no heroes had to. So the real evil would no longer walk the Earth. Not everyone should be allowed a second chance. Some people slip into the shadows out of misfortune, without another place to go. It is where the darkness of everyone's soul was, but some were strong enough to never act on it. Kasey, was someone who lived in this shade. She called this pit, her home. Susumu would snap up, almost like a pet dog when you so much as mention the word "walk". But the look on her face was not enjoyment like man's best friend, oh no. It was quiet the opposite. She would curse and swear at Kasey as she pushed against the head of the small and uncomfortable bed she rested in. She ordered Kasey to put it down, so she would. Her left still covering her closed eye, she turned to her left and right, before setting the eye on a desk. Her face confused, as if she knew nothing of what was wrong. The veins and vessels would quickly close up, slowing down the rate of which blood poured from her, but it did not change what was done. "No no! No need for nurse, I am a most fine." she would speak, her own Japanese sounding broken. But the sound of her throwing up, was unsettling. Had she done wrong? Was she... gross? For what reason did she do so, was it the sight of blood? Was she squeamish? Kasey would turn to quickly make her way into the bathroom, only to take a handful of paper towels. She would begin to reach down to her feet before leaving, to completely unwrap her left foot's binding. Wasting little time, she would begin to take a few towels and cover her socket with it, wrapping the cloth around her cheap gauze and her head. Making her way out, she would begin to try to wipe up the mess she had made. Blood was bad. Blood made the green girl spit more green. She would remember that. Perhaps her own quirk was not something she took pleasure in. Maybe that was why Susumu did not like her. But all Kasey wanted to do, was for Susumu to like her... ~ Word Count: 469 ~ |

Gagging and gasping for breath Susumu stayed leaning over the side of the bed, her body trembling from the force of which her insides had become outsides. Oh God. Oh God, fucking hell, that was not what she had expected at all. Who would have expected that? Who in their right fucking mind?! Kasey was doing something else while Susumu's back was turned but she didn't dare to look. Instead she sat up, still shaking and pale, and reached for the red button near the bed that would summon a nurse. She had just puked out her pain killers and all of her lunch. And also puked it out all over the floor.
She should...no, no, wait. If she called the nurse now she would need to explain the knife in the trash, or the other girl in the room walking around with a missing eyeball. Fuck. Susumu dared to look over her shoulder at Kasey cleaning up the blood from the floor. At least her socket was covered up, but where was--
She almost threw up again at the sight of the eyeball sitting precariously on the nearby desk. Luckily this time she just gagged and turned away.
".................................Kasey, this is not what I meant. Not. Not in a million fucking years. Why the hell would you even do that?! I don't want your eye. And I really, really didn't want you to rip yours out of your goddamn head and give it to me! That's wrong on so many levels, I can't even..." Susumu drew in a shaking breath, her eye squeezed shut. "God dammit, I just...I meant you could do something with somebody, like just talking to them, or being kind to them. But this?! This is just horrific! Who the fuck told you that it was okay to tear pieces of yourself out to make somebody happy?! Because they're wrong!"

Silently, just like any other day at the school, she was focused on her job. She would continue to wipe the floor, picking up all that remained so the floor would at least be dry and not sticky. Of course, it was still a little pink from it all, but it would do. She would take all of the wet towels in her hands, only to make her way back to the bathroom to dump them. Taking more, and wetting a few with water, she would silent make her way to Susumu, with only the stench of her mishap to guide her to where it was. She listened to her scold her, but still, she couldn't grasp what was so bad. People had done it to her before for the sake of research, what made this so different? So many pieces of her were taken, she wasn't sure any part of her was original anymore. Was she just a copy, a grown clone of who she used to be? She explored it, only to drop a bunch of the towels onto the vomit that rested on the floor. As she closed her eye, Kasey had stopped to look up at her, as she herself, knelt to the ground to clean the mess up. "O-oh..." she thought to herself. Was she okay with being a pirate? Maybe she wanted to sail the seas and collect treasure. Was that villainous if she stole something that was already stolen, or didn't belong to anyone? Well, if it was, she would look past it. Pirates didn't seem that bad, they probably had really cool parties. "I did not make Susumoo happy?" Eye. If she understood puns she would have made a more humorous remark, but she simply asked the question. "I just wanted to help..." she said to her, lowering her head to gather all that was on the floor. She would pick up the wads of it, not even minding the little bits her hands touched. She would dump what she could in the bin, trying to make little work of whatever cleaning crew would have to come in later. She would stop, taking a seat on the floor beside the bed. "I am not very good at being kind." she would tell the girl. Kasey had forgotten who Susumu was up to this moment, forgetting her information collection, forgetting how much she sold and bought. Forgetting how much she had pained others. Or specifically, pained her brother. "I do not have friends. I only have Setsuna, and Gigi now." she would say, bringing her knees close to her chest. Her arms would wrap around them. "I do not know how to make anyone happy... I only know how much they wanted what was inside of me."Her organs. Her blood. She was the perfect donor. She was the one they harvested from. A project meant to find a drug to reverse and stop aging. A project founded by a particular company. A company that paid the girl more than she would learn to count. The company known as the Ketsujo Corporation. ~ Word Count: 519 ~ |

"No. Nope. No you did not. Does this vomit look happy to you?...don't take that literally," Susumu grumbled as Kasey came back around the bed with clean towels and started to clean up the mess on the floor. Her eye was still shut so all she had to go on was noises. The sounds of towels and scooping and wet plopping of things being put in the bin were not pleasant sounds, but it was all better than that of Kasey popping her eye out of her socket and the blood gushing from her head to the floor. Ugh, fuck. She could have done without any additional eye-related trauma for the next year and a half, and yet, here they were.
She dared to peek her eye open just enough as Kasey began to talk more, and despite the disgust still filling her, the sight of Kasey curled up in on herself, admitting that she wasn't sure how to have friends...
Susumu's expression softened a little. She didn't move from her spot, lest she need to see any blood, eyeballs, vomit, or other things that would make her face twist up and her stomach do back-flips. Instead she just kept her gaze focused on Kasey. This strange, unpredictable, unusual, monstrous child that had healing capabilities far exceeding any other Quirk Susumu had ever seen, whose own boss sent her with a knife with the expectation of her being chopped up...and likely recovering from the experience in due time. A lonely little monster.
"...well, I don't want anything that's inside you, physically. But. I would like something less literal. How about when you're done cleaning, we just...sit down and talk for a little bit. I feel like both of us have some questions we want to ask each other about everything. And..." Susumu sighed, fiddling with the sheets with her fingers, "...well, G cares a lot about you. I was lying when I said it the first time, but I'm being honest now: anyone who's important to him, should be important to me. So I want to know you better. I'd...like to be friends. If you'd let me be one."

Kasey, would probably make the worst kind of caretaker. With kids, or women without an eye, she was not someone fit to care for a singular person. She was fit to be a maid, not a nanny. Yet, here she was, trying to be both. The mess was still sitting on the floor, while the more liquidy one had already been cleaned and tossed into the bin. The questionable blade, now covered by vomit and and napkins. Susumu would again speak to her, and her brain would try it's absolute hardest to make sense of what she said. If she didn't want her organs, then what did Susumu want from her? Was that not what Kasey was good for? Every so often she had her own removed from her body, only to be donated for funds and wealth. Little things, things people needed. From draining her veins dry, to selling a beating heart a few times a year, she had done it. But as she pondered her own value, her own worth, that word rang in her ears; Friends. "We could never be friends." Kasey would answer quickly, as soon as the words fell from her. She would not regret such things. It was something she didn't just feel strongly about, it was something she knew for a fact. Friendship was something considered to be bound only by bonds. Family was bound by blood. Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb. That was how the saying went. Kasey understood what it meant, and how wrongly people thought of it. But her own blood had been the one thing to ruin her life. Her true blood was evil, twisted, and a bad reflection. It was why she changed her hair. It was why she tried harder. Her blood. Her true blood. But it was when the bonds had become not woven, but fluid. The force of a waterfall, the tides and waves of it all. Blood. It meant so many things. And when it was shed with people who you did not know, often, it was that blood that ran thicker. BLood of the covenant. Yes. That was what it was. It would drown and destroy everything in its path. ". . . Because we are family... aren't we?"~ Word Count: 382 ~ |
