G's life had a peaceful routine. Work at his civillian job in a music store in the morning. Have free time in the afternoon and go to Vigilante work in the evening and entire night. Rinse and repeat. During his free time in the afternoon he'd try to switch things up do something and engage in his hobbies. Most which were tied to the all migty internet! He made a blog revieweing hot cocoa from every cafe he visited in not just Tokyo, but Musutafu as well. He made videos for the internet which involved dancing or just music in general. And he would even go anywhere online just to be an internet troll and ruin someones day. Sometimes he wouldnt do internet activities, but try and patrol the town, the beach or the mall, just to see if there are any pickpockets during daytime. Although that would end poorly for him. And sometimes he'd even train his student so she could be a crime fighter like him. Though, thats when she gets free time from school or her other daily activities and life.
But back to his usual hobbies. His blogging. G decided to try something completely different! Go to a maid cafe. Usually he'd go to normal cafes and during winter would order a nice cup of hot cocoa. But not today! Today it's something completely different! He was walking to a maid cafe. One that he accidentally passed by and noticed one day, if he recalled it was called Honey Honey.
G thougt it was a shame it was summer. Its kind of too hot to order hot cocoa. But just thinking about it made him smile. Probably the only good memory of his mother and how she'd make hot cocoa. Such innocent times.... before they all went to shit "Tch... Gee... thanks Quirk!" he thought to himself
Getting his head back in the game he decided that he'd get a soft drink, something cold like a cola, maybe? And so before he knew it he arrived at his destination. He spent no time on the exterior, he quickly went in, excited to see what did a genuine maid cafe look on the inside.
G saw a cute and cozy place. The seating was at square wooden tables with matching chairs. And it looked like whenever the café had reservations beyond what could be seated at a single table, they were easily combined. There were also small hatches on the underside of those tables, look like they could fit together almost seamlessly. There was enough seatings for about 30 people. The cafe truly was a nice size, not too big and not to small. A nice cozy medium size. It felt homely, maybe? The cafe interior was brightly colored with colours such as white and light blue. There were also fresh flowers scattered in different pots around the cafe as decor. And what was the true winner, the thing that got G was... NO NOT THE MAIDS!! It was actually above the locations of the flowers painted on the wall. They were bee-hives!! Honey!! AND BEES!!! No wonder this place was called Honey Honey!!
"I should have came here ages ago" G thought as this appealed to his other inner nerd. Yes, beyond a nerdy hobby such as blogging. G had another hobby involving insects. G adores insects. Bugs. Even a bit of arachnids. He's into entomology, but he's by no means a pro. The man just loves insects because he feels like one himself, hated, small, weak and generally unwanted. He has so much things in common with a mosquito or a in this case a bee, since this cafe has cute bee pictures.
Snapping back to reality and enough nerding around with bugs. G remembered... he never entered a maid cafe. Were there rules? Could he sit anywhere he wanted? Or did a maid have to do her thing? "What do?" he mentally asked himself

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The little café was having a busy sunday. People had been super interested in having the different kinds of icecreams and slushice deserts that was being served in there. Perhaps because everything outside was scorching hot. The asphalt had, in some places, practically melted into tar. People in sandals were hopping, skipping, trying to avoid contact with the ground for any longer than absolutely neccessary. The orders were catapulted into the kitchen at an alarming rate. Between bringing customers their orders, seating new individuals and saying properly goodbye to leaving customers, the maids were quite pressed for time. As G entered the little café, it certainly looked like an active little beehive. Fortunately for him, his questions as of how to behave himself, was answered quickly as efficiently. Rin, dressed in a pristine maid outfit, following her petite form exquisitely, would be on the case. On the upper right side of her chest, she had a small tag, stating her name and position in the café. Rin Kurama, Junior Manager. So introducing herself to him with name was unneccesary. The raven haired female greeted him at the door in an overly energetic fashion. Having somewhat identified him as a nerdier type, Rin was unleashing an overwhelming amount of cuteness. Bowing before him gracefully, her movements naturally trained at this point, Rin gave "Welcome to Honey Honey, Master, may this little bee serve naster by finding a seat and taking his order?" Provided that the new arrival to the café was indeed interested in a seating, Rin quietly began guiding him towards the back of the café. The small sections, almost made out like honey cubes, were making every seating in the cafe have a sense of intimacy. When they arrived, almost in the furthest corner of the café, it was pure coincidence that this spot in particular had a strong bee theme.Holding out the menu card with both hands, so that sir could figure out what he wanted, the sapphire blue ovals looked into his eyes, with an innocent smile on her lips. The girl's skin was snow white, a strange sight for this time of year, and a strong contrast to the dark hair and blue eyes. On the menu, were a ton of different options. There were smaller, light meals, like risottos and sandwiches. There were slightly larger meals, all relatively easy to make, such as lasagna, chili con carne and the like. Lastly, were the array of deserts. The deserts game was quite impressive from such a small café, ranging from cakes and cookies, to softice, bananasplits or simple fruit settings. Lastly, there were options only available in maid cafés. Have a picture taken with your server. It was essentially like tipping your maid, in exchange of receiving a cutesy picture with them, signed by the maid in question. Occasionally, Rin would draw a pair of whiskers and cat ears onto the pictures as well."When master is ready to order, simply wave me over. I shall be there in a buzz!"

Before he knew it, he was greeted by a pretty maid. G had to admit she was quite pleasing to the eye. "Cute kid" he thought to himself But since this was Japan. Age was the issue. This little piece of eye candy was underage for him, so he had to be careful or else someone would accuse him of being a creep again. And he was NOT in the best shape to deal with those accusations.
He then noticed the girls name tag and realized she kept calling him Master. This was something he did not expect at a maid cafe. Well, he has never been to one, so expectations were different then reality. G expected the maids to be just eye candy. But it felt like they were actually more. The fact that she called him Master and was named Rin Kurama sort of sent him bad flashbacks of Meiko trying to call him Master, not to mention her alias was Rin Koizumi. Pretty close to this charming maids name. G just hoped this was a strange coincidence.
When the lovely young maid asked him if she will help him find a seat. He agreed. "Of course. Please, lead the way" he said and then followed the girl to the back of the cafe. It was like almost the furthest corner of the cafe or something. But he didnt mind that as his place had a strong be theme. Which just made him smile
After he sat, she held out the card menu, which he took and started carefully watching everything and the prices. On the menu, there were a ton of different options. There were smaller, light meals, such as risottos and sandwiches. Then there were slightly larger meals, such as lasagna, chili con carne. Lastly, there was a large variety of dessets. And then G saw that there were some options only available in maid cafés. Have a picture taken with your server. He didnt understand why you would do that, it just made him raise his brow in confusion. There was quite a culture gap for the hawaiian immigrant.
He looked at Rin "Hey... umm... Rin?" he asked. G felt a bit uncomftarble calling someone by the name if they didnt introduce themselves. Usually he'd call people by nicknames. But considering there are girls dressed as maid calling him Master.... Calling an underage girl by nickname seemed so dirty and inappropriate. He was very much out of his element
He then asked Rin "Listen, I never visited a maid cafe. So can you tell me some stuff. Can I order just a drink or do I have to order some sort of meal with it?" G would ask more, but he felt he had so many questions, he didnt know where to start from

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy This male was a little different to their regular customer. Rin could not quite describe what it was about him that stood out to her. Was it his obviously different appearance, being a foreigner to Japan? Was it the way he was carrying himself, seemingly only interested in very specific things in the café?.. Or perhaps it was his scent, almost registering to the girl as if this person was an animal, rather than a person. Perhaps it was the combination of all those things that had Rin somewhat cautiously watch him, although she kept a professional appearance towards him. When the male made it apparent that he was entirely new at the concept of maid cafés, Rin simply nodded. "Then perhaps master would like a small introduction." It was something Rin had to do on occasion, mostly with foreigners. Introducing the concepts was not too difficult, as most seemed to understand the idea relatively quickly. "Maid cafés are a tradition, in which the guests receive extraordinary service from a staff of trained maids. Being treated like you were the master of the establishment." That was the simplest gist of it at least. Of course there was more to it than that, but.. "It gives shy individuals a chance to be interacted with cutely, sweetly, without having to commit to a girlfriend, nor feeling awkward." Rin explained, offering a few gestures to keep his attention. "Of course, touching the maids, asking for our numbers or taking pictures is strictly prohibited. The maids working here provide a serivce, but only to the limt they're comfortable with." There had been a few customers in the past that hadn't understood the memo. While Rin had not been one of t he unfortunate ones to be blatantly groped, it was unfortunately a recurring issue. Some could simply not keep their hands to themselves. "Most cafés offer a service, where you get a decorated picture with the maid that served you. It's something you'd buy, rather than tipping the maid directly. Essentially, you should consider the picture a 'thank you for tipping!' If the concept interests you, I can provide a flier, containing most of Tokyo's maid cafés plus some history." With that short introduction completed, Rin quietly flicked through the menu card for him, until they arrived at the soft drinks. Even here, there was quite the selection. A whole array of smoothies, mixed with everything from icecream, cream, chocolate and more. The prices were mostly reasonable, only drinks with exotic fruits costing significantly more than the rest. One thing he might've noticed, was that almost all the drinks utilized honey in some way... Below all the smoothies, was the simple list of sodas. Cola, fanta, sprite and such. "Master is not required to order anything from the restaurant, a drink is fine." Behind Rin, the other maids were all working hard. There was a definitive buzz within the café. Perhaps G had been fortunate to be placed somewhere people wouldn't constantly be walking by."Anything caught your fancy? If so, may I get you anything, master?" Rin bowed for him shortly, waiting patiently by his table. It was this exact type of person that'd be important to reach with proper service. Foreigners having a good time, sitting by the window, naturally garnered attention from the locals as well. In some cafés, Rin had heard that some foreigners were being paid, simply to hang out in the café. Talk to people passing by, tell them stories of their homelands and their adventures. It was strange how such things could have enough impact to being a paid profession.

G was very pleased with the short introduction to maid cafes. He was glad he heard the rules because that had already cleared some misinformation he heard about them. He heard that maids very well COULD be touched. But that looked like it was just someone trying to trick G and get him into trouble
When the young maid told G stuff about tipping, he made sure to take note of that. This young girl deserved some form of tip, even if it was some shitty unwanted photo he had to take. The fact that she took the time to spell everythng out to him deserved some sort of reward. He made sure to let her know that later
The girl then simply flicked through the menu card for him, until they arrived at the soft drinks. G mentally facepalmed as he forgot he could simply do that "Sheesh. My brain really IS in la la land" he thought to himself and then saw another impressive selection A whole array of smoothies, mixed with everything from icecream, cream, chocolate and more, with pretty reasonable prices. And of course themore exotic drinks had more pricy prices. Something weird that caught his eye was that almost all of the drinks utilized honey in some way. Below all the smoothies, was the simple list of sodas. Cola, fanta, sprite and just what he was looking for "Ah! Splendid! I'll just take a cola. And you know what, kiddo? Since you were nice to me and explained everything. I'll do that picture thing. You need something like a tip. So since you people dont take tips, I'll do the next best thing" G told her, but also hoped that he could somehow give her a real tip as well. Not this japanese abstract nonsense, he was too american for that.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy In this line of work, Rin met a fair share of weirdos. Most of the people coming in here, were in fact just that, weirdos. This young male seemed to be the exact same. So many things about him seemed off, yet, as Rin had already concluded, he was almost certainly foreign. A sentiment that only grew stronger, when he needed an explanation of something, which had been Japanese common culture for what seemed like centuries at this point. It took a little while for the young gentleman to return to his senses. That was another thing about maid cafés. Deserts and easy to make dishes were commonly plastered over the menu. Things that could've been prepared in advance and only needed a quick trip into the oven. Though, for the gentleman, all he desired was a cool something to drink, plus a picture. Bowing before him, deeply, the raven dark locks of hair fell over Rin's shoulders in a casual manner. "As you wish, master. I shall be right back with your order." Turning around, Rin began walking towards the kitchen. The black shoes, with just enough of an elevated heel to make Rin's posture more mature, clicked across the floor as she stepped. Entering the kitchen area, Rin found one of the coolest cola's that was present. The glass of the bottle having condensed water to it. Once opened, it'd almost breathe a small white fog, indicating exactly how cold it was. Only a few degrees lower, and it might've frozen. On a small plate, Rin added a couple of cookies. It was common practice in maid cafés to give the customer a little extra than what they had paid for. The cookies were made with honey and ginger. Drawn across their surface, were small bee's in a very kawaii style. They had been drawn with a rich chocolate. If Rin was to say so herself, the cookies were absolutely delicious.Following her back to the table, was another maid, carrying a small camera. Rin served the cookies in front of him, accompanied by the coldest cola in the establishment. "Buzz buzz!~" Rin exclaimed in a joyous tone, utilizing her skill in performance to strike an adorable pose besides the young gentleman. A picture was taken, as the other maid quietly began leaving again, a little jealous that Rin was having such great success with the pictures - and by extension, tips. Taking a step away from him again, making sure not to invade his private space, Rin quietly spoke again. All the while, placing a small folder onto his table. It held more in-depth information regarding the cafés, plus an upcoming events section. If he bothered checking, he'd notice that sometime next month, they'd be having a music theme, with several of the maids performing - guests being invited to perform too. Kind of like an expanded karaoke night. "Your cola, master, plus a little something extra. I hope you enjoy your order, plus your stay at honey honey! If you need anything else, simply wave me over. I'll be here to serve~" With the serving done and completed, the gentleman was left mostly to his own devices, if he wished to enjoy his drink and cookies in peace. Meanwhile, Rin was introducing other customers to the café, getting them seated and taking their orders. The day was incredibly busy, with almost all tables consistently seated. The maid's were busy, yet they were going out of their way to provide the best possible service.

When he made the order, he hoped that he hasnt weirded anyone out with his appearance and behaviour. As much as this cafe was nice and lovely and had the theme he quite enjoyed. He still sort of felt... out of place. No, that wasnt right... He felt out of his comfort zone. And like he didnt belong there. But he didnt wanna bother his maid waitress, so he just kept smilling and kept quiet.
Speaking of the maid, she went to take his order. G meanwhile just looked at his phone, to see how much battery he had. After he saw his battery was at 90%, he opened an app called QuickMemo+ and decided to type and take notes about the cafe: The cafe is at a great location. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
He tried to type more, but couldnt as he hadnt tried the drink yet. Nor did he take the picture with the maid. So, he just left that as a sort of a note for typing out his future review. As he saw the maids nearing, he put his phone back in his jackets pocket. He saw the happy worker bee of a maid buzz buzz at him and give him his order, a nice and cool refreshing cola. And as a surprising bonus that he didnt expect. The cutest cookies he's ever seen that had this adorable small bees drawn across them using what he would only guess as sweet sweet chocolate. It was almost too good to even eat. He then just noticed the other maid and just kinda timidly said "hi" to her as to not just outright ignore her
'His' maid, Rin then striked a cool cute pose. G wasnt aware it was picture time right away. He just smiled a bit and tried to deal with the slight culture shock he was having. After the picture was taken. The photographer maid left. And then Rin gave him something else, a small folder. Before he proceeded to examine the item, he listened to Rin say how if he needs anything that she'll be there. Typical waitress sorta thing "Umm.. no problem" he said and let her do her duty
G then opened the folder as he was curious what it could be. He saw it had more in-depth info about cafes. "Did she bring this to help me understand these cafes? Wow... she's so nice to do that" G thought, believing she gave him just that to help him adjust to these japanese maid cafes and their customs. He glossed over that to see what else the folder had. What else it had was upcoming events and of all the things to be for an event. It was music. Totally his thing. He then read that the maids were performing, which made him not know how to feel about that. He was pretty sure that was some fanservice for men. The maids were eyecandy enough, now they sing for them? He shook his head to that and looked further to see that guests can perform too, it was sort of like a karaoke night "I'm not much of a singer. Been more dancing lately. But maybe I should brush up on my ukuleke skills, havent touched that in years. Truly shameful" he thought to himself
And then finally he took a cookie and tried a bite of it. It was mostly honey and ginger. It fit the theme of the place, but wasnt his thing. He was old fashioned that he only liked the classic chocolate cookies. Or chocolate chip cookies. G glanced at Rin for a second as he slowly ate the cookies

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin was guiding other customers to their seats, introducing them to the establishment, taking their orders. In general, there was quite the buzz through the entire café. Despite how quickly Rin seemed to move inbetween customers, when she was interacting with any of them, they received the best service that the raven haired maiden could offer. In the time where G was enjoying his cold drink plus reading through the little folder, Rin had seated two new groups in the café, plus wiped off the tables cleanly. While taking their orders, handily writing down the table numbers plus what they desired for food, Rin was also keeping track of whether the other tables she was servicing needed anything. Content with the current situation, Rin went to the kitchen, allowing the staff in there to know what was ordered from the menu. The picture which G had ordered, had in the meantime been processed. The frame had the café's bee mascot on it. Flipping the little picture upside down, Rin wrote a little greeting on the back.
♥ To remember a warm summer ♥ Your Honey Honey maid, Kurama Rin!~
With black marker, the girl carefully doodled a pair of bee wings onto the picture, as if they were attached to the girl herself. The souvenir was meant to be as cute as it could possibly be, that was one of the main thing's with the maid cafés afterall. Being content that she had given him the best possible experience, the only thing that remained to be done, was handing over the picture and clean up his table as he left. With that, Rin returned to his table for the last time. Bowing before him, the same energetic atmosphere emanated from her warmly. Holding out the picture in both of her hands, Rin gestured for him to take it. It was something he had paid to receive, after all. "Here you are, Master. I hope your visit to Honey Honey was excellent! If master has any complaints, I shall do my best to ensure better service in the future!" Out of the corner of her eyes, Rin had kept track of the time. The great thing about working in a maid café, was how much one could earn in an hour's honest work. Another great thing, was how short their shifts were. Given that they needed to be positive, upbeat and energetic, no single maid could work an entire day. Usually, their shifts were no longer than four to five hours. Standing there, with her pen and noteblock out, Rin was prepared to take any kind of criticism that G may have had with her back into the kitchen. Usually, the maid's kept notes on the customers experiences. Though, in this case, the review may have been worth more than what Rin could doodle down.Rin had been working for almost four hours this day. It was starting to wear on her a little. Not so much a physical exhaustion, as it was a mental one. Even in maid café's they had troublesome guests that ruined the atmosphere. Remaining calm, collected, sweet and energetic for all the guests coming immediately afterwards was tough business. In any cases, even if Rin's own mood was rather shitty, it was something she could never impart to the guests. At best, the girl could get off a few discontent sigh's while in the kitchen. Keeping in mind that the workday would soon be over. At least it was good money, right..?

G was a bit, just a bit upset that he'd have to miss the music event as it seems like it would be some relaxing goofy fun. But he knew he just couldnt make it. He had other business to tend to. And he knew he wouldnt return at this cafe any time soon as he usually always goes to a different one. For research purposes.... To find which one has the best and cheapest service.
He just shrugged everything off and enjoyed his cool drink. And then just as he finished it. The lovely maid girl returned and gave him the picture. He of course took it as grabbed a 1000 yen banknote from his pocket. After the small maid finished her line. G got up and shook her hand. Slipping her a real american tip. Not some japanese abstract nonsense. He also told her "Thank YOU for your service. You have been a lovely and helpful host. And expect a full feedback report about your cafe on my blog at 420GucciGang@iblog.com"
G then let her go and started walking out of the cafe. He waved bye to the young maid "Goodbye. Have a nice day, kiddo!" and so he left the Honey Honey Maid Cafe. G decided that as soon as he gets home that he'll write about this experience and the cafe and its staff. It was a cute and yet weird experience. Not quite his style, but he figured the locals would like that more then an immigrant like him

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Under normal circumstances, Rin was prohibited from receiving tips like these directly. They were frowned upon, as such a kind of tip could not easily be shared with the kitchen staff, that undoubtedly had been part of a good service. When food was delivered quickly and expertly, it took the collaboration of both kitchen staff and maids. Thus, the little picture that one could buy, while naturally giving a majority of the tip to the maid that had posed for the picture, still imparted something for the kitchen staff. Direct tips like this one, was therefore frowned upon. However, the cafés typically had a clause, that foreign customers who weren't used to or immersed into Japanese culture, were allowed to give tips to the maids. It was simply easier and more clean to let it happen, than it was to attempt and prevent it or educate the foreigners. Afterall, most of them wouldn't be staying in the country for an extended period of time. So rather than explaining to him why that was a problem, Rin simply bowed her head thankfully. A tip of this size could easily net her and Jasmine something decent for dinenr tonight. "Arigatou, Master Guccigang. I'll be sure to inform our staff to take a look at the blog to see your review. I hope to have you dining with us again sometime! Thank you for visiting Honey Honey!" Waving him off, Rin quickly pocketed his tip, shaking her head. It seemed that monseiur Guccigang had quite the tender side to him. Probably paying more at this little visit for tipping Rin, than he had paid for the soft drink. Smiling widely, it was good to see some people just out and about to spread kindness.Returning to the kitchen, Rin left the blogging post on a little post-it note, dedicating a little memory. Down the line, the girl would go take a little peek at what he had written. Hopefully the reviews were as positive as his attitude. Such continued the day for the raven haired maiden, working diligently to keep everyone satisfied, content. After only a couple of hours additional work, Rin was done for the day. Packing her things, getting changed, heading home to Yuuei. Not for even half a moment, was Rin aware of how many things had been set in motion by this chance encounter. Nor the dark alleys it would eventually lead her to walk.
