There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly There was something about getting stung by a bee. No, a hornet. Something about it was just... just thinking about that was disgusting. Painful. It was one of those things you tried to avoid as much as you could, unless you were one of those crazy people working with bees for a living.
And Jaz? Oh, Jaz faced some bees today. About several hundred of them, actually. And unfortunately for the blond girl things didn't exactly go the way she had intended. Add to the fact that she had suffered several pretty severe blows to her head and the girl was practically dead on her feet.
Breathing heavily, the girl leaned against a random lamppost. It had been about an hour of utter suffering after her fight with Vespa and those other goons at the gas station. An hour of excruciatingly painful and slow 'walking' towards her dorm. Shit, a part of her wished she had taken up Vespa on her offer to get some medical attention. But she knew that would've only resulted in trouble. Likely expulsion, too, if they found out she had used her quirk, even if it was to defend herself... or beat the everliving shit out of the people that pissed her off. Either worked, really.
It didn't matter now, though. She was already going through it, she had no choice but to just shrug it off. Yuuei was already in sight. A little bit more and she'd be in her room. For once she was thankful she was alone.
With a quiet groan, Ember pushed herself off of the lamppost, almost stumbling as she did so. Through grit teeth, she soldiered on, making her way up towards the dorms, feet feeling heavier with each step she took. Honestly she was aching all over. Her back - where the hornets had laid all of their bombing runs - was likely an utter mess. She couldn't even feel part of her body, let alone imagine what it looked like under her torn clothes. Her brow was cut, dried blood on her hands and face and her head was swimming with a likely concussion. It was amazing that the girl was even able to stay conscious considering that she received a rather painful elbow to the back of the head, let alone make her way back 'home'.
But, eventually, even the ever durable and stubborn Jasmine reached her limit. Her breath hitched for a brief moment as she tripped over her own foot after a very brief darkening of her vision. Before she knew what happened her world began spinning and she collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. Breathing was hard, moving even more so. She just laid there, diving in and out of consciousness as she struggled to get herself up, cursing herself for being so goddamn weak.

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Class president, Rin Kurama. Even thinking it out within the confines of her own mind made it sound ridiculous. Perhaps that is why, when it had been spoken out aloud in class, her reaction was one of utter shock. However, after things were said and done, that was the new reality of things. So, Rin had decided to spend most of the day at school, even after their schedule for the day had come to an end. Hours, after their schedule had come to an end. There were so many smaller things which needed to fit into place. A notebook, blue in cover with several scribbles across the surface, had had five full pages written in it. Things to come, things that needed doing, things that were to be remembered. The girl's black hair was hanging loosely over her shoulders, as she packed her things together. The day had been long, it was time to get a move on. It was time to go home. Swinging the schoolbag over her shoulders, Rin began moving down the stairs leading to Yuuei. It was there, at the bottom, lying openly in the sun that she found a figure, collapsed onto the ground like a rag doll. Rin hurried over, kneeling down besides the figure. It was at this point that she understood exactly who it was. Jasmine! Shock set in almost immediately. This was a wounded classmate, in desperate need of some medical attention. Rin wasn't a medic by any stretch of the imagination, so she could do very little on her own. Getting Jasmine somewhere not on the street was a priority.
"Jas, hey, Jas?... It's me, Rin.."
Rin attempted to communicate, not quite sure if stating who she was was neccesary. It was a simple approach, attempting to figure out exactly what the situation with Jasmine was. " What's happened to you.. What can I do to help?" Quickly reaching into her bag, Rin pulled out a soft-plastic bottle, half filled with water. Pouring a litlte over the other girl's face, Rin wasn't sure if it was the heat having done this or something else entirely. After the gesture, Rin placed the bottle's opening beside Jasmine's face. If she wanted something to drink, Rin would accommodate her as best she could. No, this was beyond what Rin could deal with on her own. This was one of the few moments where Rin wish she could afford having a mobile phone. Being able to call for assistance would've made the situation a million times more manageable. "..Can you walk with my help? We need to get you indoors... We need to get you some help, treatment..." Rin was experiencing a small amount of panic. This was an unknown situation to her. A girl which she knew well needed assistance, but the danger wasn't one Rin could protect her from. Having no one else to rely on, having no means to call for assistance, there were only really two options. Leave Jasmine there, on the ground in the sun, as she herself ran off to get help; Or two, assist Jasmine in getting to a better location and then fetch some help.
Both options sucked, but leaving the girl out in the sun seemed like the more dangerous approach to Rin...

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly A paradoxically large number of things were running through Jasmine's concussed, barely conscious mind as she struggled to stay awake. First and foremost Jasmine felt hate. Hate and disgust. A hate and disgust that was particularly aimed at herself. She absolutely detested the current situation that she was in. Or rather, not the situation itself, but what had gotten her into it. No, this wasn't Vespa's fault. This wasn't even those thugs' fault. It was her own fault for being so damn weak.
You'd think she would've been prepared for something as simple as this considering the things she went through back home. A robbery was nothing to write home about - she'd dealt with such things already, coupled with several dozen other types of misdemeanors and then some. Yet back then she never found herself in such dire straights, and if she did she'd always find some kind of way to claw herself out of the hole she or somebody else dug for her. This time she was drawing blanks. She left herself open for Vespa's hornets, believing the girl would leave her alone just because she politely asked her to fuck off. To top it all off she let herself be engulfed in her ever brewing rage and lashed out, not only getting injured in the process but almost killing one of the men in the first place. Sloppy. Even for a scrapper such as herself, this type of shit had crossed the line.
She didn't know what to blame it on either. Her environment? Maybe. Said environment making her go soft? Very likely. No wonder she had felt like a cornered beast the moment she found herself in Musutafu. The place was just such a contrast from her neighborhood in NYC that the girl didn't know how to act or respond to things happening around her. Her instincts trying to stay sharp in an environment made to dull her fangs had been working against her to the point that she was losing sleep, and because of this she had taken a step back. Was it such a bad idea to relax a little?
It was these thoughts that got her into this mess in the first place. Had she stayed on her toes and remained the ever vigilant bundle of chaos that she's always been she would've been able to handle herself properly, dumbass rules be damned.
The ever menacing lioness knew how blunt her claws had become. It was no surprise that she let herself get this injured considering the shift in her state of mind. Her cage was six inches of concrete thick, and yet the claw marks on the walls of this prison had begun to lose their vigor, as did Jasmine begin losing her edge.
She absolutely hated it.
A voice, seemingly small and insignificant in comparison to the big picture, called out. It was very faint at first, barely making her bat an eyelash. Yet it grew louder with each second, carrying with it a cold realization. She could do better. She had to do better. Shit like this was viable to get her and other people killed and that was something she ultimately couldn't allow. Ever.
Jasmine gasped for breath, eyes, crimson, bursting open, as did her sense of self-preservation. The fight or flight sensation that had previously carried her into her frenzy spread throughout her like wildfire making her jerk backwards. She raised a steaming hand, her quirk at the ready to crush whatever was attacking her.
Luckily for both Jaz and Rin, the blonde had realized who had woken her.
"Shit, sorry..." the girl coughed out, lowering her hand while her eyes returned to their normal shade of pale violet. Christ. Her PTSD kicked in and she almost attacked a classmate on pure defensive instinct alone. Her body was trembling, breath heavy. Fuck, what had she done? What had she become? A few days in Japan and she was already this mentally unstable? Pathetic. She fucking hated all of it.
Covering her drenched face with both hands, Jasmine attempted to pace herself, just in time to hide her eyes that were beginning to water. One. Two. That's what they had taught her. Deep breaths. One and two. Inhale. Exhale. Adrenaline was beginning to fade after a key few moments. You are safe. You are okay. Nobody's going to hurt you, Jasmine. Everything's fine, she chanted in her mind, recalling the words Zeke, the man who had given her her last name, told her whenever she had one of her fits. Eventually her body calmed and her breathing steadied. Okay. It was working.
Removing her hands, Jasmine glanced at Rin with slightly reddened eyes. She smiled weakly at her, "I, uh... yeah," she said, not really knowing what else she could tell her after all that. She took the offered water bottle from the girl and took a large swing after giving her a nod of thanks. The liquid was refreshing. Like rain after a long drought. Several things at once were running through the girl's head, but she was much too dizzy to entertain any of them, her concussion proving to be more of a pain in the ass than her aching back.
"Can you uhh... help me get to my room? I'm a little dizzy right now," she explained, trying her best to hide how weak she really was. Because of the person she was currently talking to, the situation, if you asked Jaz, was ironic to say the least.

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy The girl on the ground seemed almost delirious. With something to drink, it seemed like Jasmine was recovering at least a little bit. That is, right until the atmosphere between the two changed. It was like a spark in the air that Rin knew all too well. Aggression. Instinctively the girl backed off half a step, a shocked expression on her face. This behavior gave away many clues as to exactly what had happened though. A girl being trained to defend herself, found in this miserable state, couldn't have been the work of hornets by themselves. It seemed much more likely that someone had beaten the girl senseless, then thrown her on top of a hornets nest or something for amusement, torture. Jasmine had been in a fight with someone. Immediately as Jasmine realized who was speaking to her, the aggression vanished, almost as quickly as it had been established. A weak cough, an apology... "D-don't mind... you're.. you're fine." Rin fought away the insecurity, in favor of protecting a fallen classmate. Kneeling down, Rin carefully wrapped one of Jasmine's arms over her own shoulders. Slightly adjusting Jasmine's position, so that when Rin pulled upwards she'd get on her feet, rather than dangle like a wet noodle. Then, with all her lack of might, Rin dragged Jasmine to her feet, providing support every bit of the way...
"Jasmine-chan, with all these stings you could have a bodily reaction to the venom... Those can be lethal, you could die. I should take you to the school nurse..." Rin replied meagerly. Arguing against someone that clearly didn't have their full mental capacity available to them was a little awkward to say the least. One thing was for certain though, Rin wasn't going to let Jasmine suffer any more than absolutely neccesary. Taking a few steps forwards, Rin kept adjusting Jasmine's balance, providing something for her to lean against. Even if the girl was wobbly, having something to support herself against ought to make the trip a little easier. Even if Jasmine, by the sheer height difference, was quite a bit heavier than Rin herself. Rin was struggling a bit. Overly tense because she felt, that if Jasmine fell over and got hurt, it would be all her fault.
Turning her head to look at Jasmine, Rin continued the conversation, trying to figure out exactly what Jasmine had suffered. If nothing else, being able to recount to the nurse what had happened might make the treatment faster and more precise. "Did... U-uhm, did you get into a fight, Jasmine-chan?..." Even if all the mannerisms and signs pointed to yes, simply assuming something would do the other girl a disfavor. If Jasmine preferred to keep such information to herself, of course Rin understood. Causing others trouble over ones own mistakes could be a hard pill to swallow... "Do you know what the hornets that stung you looked like?.. Any specifics that could help identify their type?" Keeping Jasmine talking would hoepfully also assist in keeping the girl conscious. Earlier, before the drink, it had seemed like Jasmine was on the verge of passing out.

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly Christ. This was embarrassing. And pathetic. "Thanks..." Jasmine said weakly, head low so her hair fell over her eyes, hiding some of her shame.
Some part of her was thankful to Rin. Their newly appointed class president seemed genuinely worried for Jasmine's health and that was rather commendable. Rin was the type, she figured. Even when the two of them were tasked to quality check the gym equipment and make sure all of it is good to go, Jasmine had felt that the girl was empathetic to a fault. Simple conversations told her as much. Rin wanted to help people, Jasmine remembered. That was her drive to be a hero, wasn't it? Really, that shone brightly in this particular situation. She was glad she voted for her; Rin made a great class president.
But at the same time Jasmine felt... resentful. While she was definitely appreciative of Rin's help, especially knowing that she wasn't likely to make it to her dorm room by herself at the rate she was going, her pride was still hurt. Normally she was the strong one. She was the one who was the last one standing and dragging people behind cover. To find herself in this pathetic a situation, being tended to by the person who she thought, with valid reasoning, was weaker than herself was... it stung. Arguably more than all of Vespa's hornets combined and then some. She felt ashamed of herself as she thought about how weak she was and how much trouble this must have caused Rin.
While she supported herself against the significantly smaller female, Jasmine still managed to keep herself up on her own two feet. Really, with how physically lacking Rin was Jasmine was surprised the girl was able to even help her up in the first place. Pleasantly surprised, to be honest. Jasmine was a good judge of character and able to judge a person's strengths and weaknesses quite easily, be it physical or otherwise. Frankly she was happy to be wrong, even if it was only marginally so.
Jasmine offered a hum and a shake of her head as a response, "Nah... I'll be fine," she said through a grunt, "I've been stung by these things before. Still alive." Frankly between her wounded pride, the swelling sense of shame in her chest, and her resentment towards herself gnawing at the back of her skull, Jasmine barely felt the stings. Honestly they were only a very literal pain in the ass. Sure, they hurt. They hurt a lot. But physical pain was nothing new to Ember. She knew how to deal with it. It was routine.
The concussion, though. Now that was a problem. She was fighting off dizziness but at the very least it didn't feel like she'd pass out anymore. Water and her PTSD kicking in might have helped to... knock her out of getting knocked out. Yup. Made perfect sense. Her speech wasn't slurry either and she didn't feel like she was going to vomit anymore. But she couldn't be sure for how long this'd keep up.
"Yeah. So I'd appreciate it if you didn't take me to the nurse right now- I'd rather not get yelled at or whatever for breaking dumb rules," she said, this time without any shred of her usual apathy, snark or humor. She was being dead serious. She was appreciative or Rin's helpfulness, but she couldn't afford to get expelled over a decision that made sense. This entire thing about not being able to use quirks outside of school hours? Bullshit. Yeah, she understood the gist of it. The quirks they possessed were powerful enough to kill and, untrained, that's exactly what they might end up doing. But what about the situation Jasmine had found herself in? She was in the middle of a crime being committed. She was attacked. And she was supposed to just tuck tail and run? She did that. Look where that got her. Quirk usage for self-defense only made sense. She was dumb for entertaining the other option. If Jasmine had just dealt with the thugs without running out of the gas station all of this could've been avoided in the first place.
"Wha-huh?" Jasmine glanced at Rin, a little confused by the question. To be fair she knew what Rin was getting at but in the heat of the fight she barely had time to even see the hornets, let alone identify what type they were. "Do I look like a bee expert to you?" She said as the two of them walked on, trying to lighten the mood a little. They were already inside and Jasmine directed the two of them to the elevators. The doors slid open and the taller blonde girl broke free of Rin and leaned onto the metal wall with her side, huffing a heavy breath. If her steadily more blurry vision told her anything it was that her concussion was kicking back in. "Fourth floor." She said, not letting her voice sound too weak. They were almost there. Normally she was alone on her floor. Hopefully fate didn't decide to cut her by the throat and have someone be up there.

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy It wasn't something that Rin had noticed at first, nor something that she really thought about normally, but human bodies sure were heavy. Even if Jasmine wasn't placing all of her weight on the girl, even if Rin wasn't required to lift and carry Jasmine, the weight was still imposing on her. With the warmth from above, the girl was very quickly breaking out in a sweat. It went to show, to prove to her, exactly why their physique was being trained so rigorously. Carrying an unconscious person out of a burning building would require explosive power. For someone of Rin's size, perhaps even more so. Still, the girl knew that it was a possible feat. What was being demanded and required, was possible for any normal human being. Given that everyone at Yuuei had a quirk to rely on as well, by the end of the first school year, everyone in their classes should be able to protect a person. Rin looked at Jasmine, determination fuelling her steps. Jasmine had been hurt and required assistance. That was enough for Rin to give it her everything...
That is when Jasmine complicated everything. A few single words made the situation much more complex. Jasmine admitted openly that she had been involved in a fight. It meant that these stings, these wounds, could potentially be traced back to a quirk. If such happened, Jasmine would immediately be risking explusion. Fighting, utilizing one's quirk outside the academy. It was possibly the cardinal sin. Even so, Jasmine had chosen to confide in her, to get the help that she needed. The help that would allow her to stay at Yuuei, while still getting treated properly. Rin bit her lips, unconsciously altering her course away from the main building and towards the dorms. There were several other students that looked in their direction, raising eyebrows, but this was U.A. Strange occurrences were fairly commonplace here, especially when quirks were being practiced. So the fact that two girls, one severely banged up, were moving towards the dorms didn't seem that improbable...
"..If I am to take you to the dorms, you have to tell me exactly what happened." There was a seriousness to Rin's tone that Jasmine probably hadn't heard before. It wasn't lined up as a threat. It was very clear from Rin's voice that Jasmine's condition worried the girl greatly. It was a serious concern. "These stings look nasty and I'm not trained in medicine. I do know that stings to this severity, even if you're not allergic, could lead to organ failure.." Rin did her best to make Jasmine aware of exactly why listening to her request wasn't just met with a of course. Rin wanted to help, it however also meant, that if Jasmine was at all looking like she'd be worsening, because of the seriousness of this incident, Rin wouldn't hesitate to take her to the nurses office - for Jasmine's own good. "What were you stung by, exactly?... Can you describe the insect in detail? How long ago was it?" Rin asked quite a few questions, but it was important that she learned as much as she could.
Meanwhile, they had entered the dorm building. Here, the dorms were lined up with numbers on three different floors. Allowing Jasmine's steps to guide them, it wouldn't take terribly long before they made it to their destination. Despite how dire the situation was, underneath all of the pressure, Rin was still somewhat excited to see the inside of the dorm rooms. Having played with the thought of moving in here herself, she was almost briefly distracted from the task at hand. Afterall, the girl was still just a student...

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly "Ugh, fine, mom," Jasmine said, rolling her eyes. Christ, she never knew care could be so... annoying. Sure, she appreciated Rin giving a damn, but why the smaller girl decided to stick her nose into her business was anyone's guess. What good would it do for her to know what happened? Will she magically undo it? Spank the baddies? Whip Vespa's hands? Please. Frankly the fewer people knew about this fight the better. And she didn't even know if she could trust the girl yet. She was the goody-two-shoes type. It'd be amazing if she didn't rat Jasmine out because of rules and shit. YoU mIgHt EnDaNgEr ThE oThEr StUdEnTs WiTh SuCh BeHaViOr! she thought, giving the words in her head the dumbest voice she could possibly imagine. "Right, right. Whatever. I think they were hornets... or something. We're here," Jasmine said as soon as the elevator dinged and the doors opened. Jasmine raised a hand and waved Rin off, "I'm fine," she said with a grunt. She was still a little wobbly, but she'd be able to walk to her room on her own two feet, at least. It took her a little bit, but they were at her door in mere moments. She found the key, shoved the sucker into the lock, it clicked, and she opened the door before stepping in. The room was heavily customized with things one wouldn't think Jaz would have the money to afford. Luckily for the American, the hero who had picked up and recommended her to Yuuei had also sponsored her, bought her anything she needed and was even giving her an allowance. Thus Jasmine splurged a little. New furniture. Her own fridge. A microwave. A laptop. Flat screen TV. Shit she always dreamed of having but hadn't even touched since she did. The faint smell of paint still lingered in the air as Jasmine and Rin entered, "Voila, my room," she said. Perhaps the most interesting part of her room was her once-white wall. Instead, it was replaced with a coating of pitch black paint as Jasmine turned it into a canvas of street art. A large explosion of colors danced across the darkness, painting a picture of a beautiful, wild and free golden lioness, roaring as she fought a red Chinese dragon. It was a breathtaking display, but one that was still unfinished. Jasmine hadn't been in her room enough lately to work on it properly. The blonde girl hissed as she ripped off her torn shirt, revealing just how red her back was from all the stings. She proceeded to then unhook her bra with a single hand before tossing the nightmarish construct somewhere to the corner. The freedom made her feel a little better already. Afterwards, she plopped down on her couch face-first. "There's a first aid kit in the back of the closet somewhere. Mind grabbing me an Advil? Should be some cream to treat stings in there too, I think," she said, her voice muffled from having her face buried in a pillow. "So," she turned to the girl, her eyes both irritated and tired, "What do you want to know?"

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy To Rin, Jasmine was acting very closely to another student which she had had incredible difficulty interacting with properly. Nick Cross was overly prideful, to the point where even minor mistakes or disagreeing lead immediately to unpleasant conversing. In these conversations Rin felt that she was held hostage. No matter what she said or did, there wasn't a way to leave the conversation feeling decent about herself. Rin only wanted what was best for her class, for her friends, yet they acted as if worrying for their well being was a nuisance, a hindrance... They weren't even completely wrong. So far, Rin hadn't managed to really change anything for anyone. It was clear that Jasmine wasn't expecting much of anything either. The blonde wasn't even willing to properly share the information regarding the incident, practically shrugging Rin off in the process. Perhaps she was more willing to talk once in her room. It somewhat amazed Rin that a person so beaten up remained completely stuck to their principles and beliefs. A personality of steel...
Once inside the room, Rin took a few moments to look at the decor. There were so many things going on in this room. Television, laptop, headsets, freshly painted walls. This room was an expression of who Jasmine was. It made Rin briefly question whether her own, empty and boring room was a representation of who she herself was. Shaking her head from side to side, that wasn't important at this moment. Jasmine's well being was the most important thing. Leaving her shoes off by the door, Rin very quickly made her way through the designated closet, digging her way through to find the first aid kit. Grabbing the advil and a tube which only stated alleviates insect bite pain, Rin hurried over to Jasmine's side... If Rin hadn't been somewhat expecting it, her reaction would've been far less tempered. Jasmine's back was completely covered in stings...
Instead of making any mentions of anything, Rin simply handed Jasmine the advil, carefully adding a bit of creme onto her fingers, carefully and gently rubbing some on the worst of the stings. Seeing this however, it was very clear to her that Jasmine needed proper treatment. When dizziness was involved, diagnosing her was obviously difficult, as it could be a simple result of having been in a fight. However, if the dizziness was caused by the stings, then worse symptoms could be just around the corner. The girl's touch against Jasmine's back was delicate, silky smooth. The creme itself would feel cold, numbing. Hopefully it would do something to kill the pain of the stings. Not for a moment had Rin considered whether it was awkward to be assisting like this. The girl simply did what she thought she had to do, to make sure that Jasmine was doing fine. "Just rest. I'll... make sure we get you some proper treatment for the stings, okay?.. I'll fill you a water bottle, then be back in, fifteen minutes.." With that said, Rin went to the door, leaving for the bathrooms with the water bottle in tow. A few moments later, the girl returned with the water bottle. Placing it on the table by Jasmine's heard, Rin smiled warmly.
"Don't worry, I won't bring the nurse.. If you worsen, call someone for help, okay?.. Your back looks completely ruined.." Offering Jasmine a soft smile, Rin then simply waved. "I'll be back as soon as possible with proper treatment. We'll fix you up, good as new!" A positive smile... Leaving the dorm room, Rin was headed off.. The girl had gotten an idea to get Jasmine some proper treatment, without getting her involved in anything negative. It'd come at a minor expense to Rin herself, but... if it was going to provide them a proper way to communicate, that would be worth the trouble.

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly "Hm," Jasmine replied, hiding her face in her pillow as she decided to do exactly what Rin told her to do: rest. Fuck it. If she insisted on taking care of her, she might as well. Jasmine didn't know why she was making such a big deal out of this. She was sure that Vespa had enough sense in her to warn her if her life was in any actual danger. But whatever. If the class president was so worried and thought that warranted all of this drama, who was she to argue?
She took the offered medicine and swallowed it without arguing. Another muffled hum left her mouth as she felt Rin's fingers on her back. They felt nice. Cold, but at the same time nice. It made her skin tingle in a strange way. Whenever her touch came across a sting, she felt a little pain - yet not enough to make her feel too uncomfortable. It was a strange mixture between agony and pleasure; she wondered if that made her an M. But that didn't really matter, she supposed. She'd fallen asleep at one point, completely oblivious to the fact that Rin had left her room at one point or another.
She was woken up when the girl returned with a water bottle. "Uh...huh?" Jasmine replied, quirking a weary brow. She wasn't going to go to the nurse's was she? Fuck. She hoped not. Against her better judgment, Jasmine decided to trust the girl. It wasn't like she was given much of a choice anyway. So, while she waited, she took a sip of water from the water bottle. The Advil was slowly kicking in, making her feel a little better. The cream on her back felt cool and nice, making her able to relax a little, yet she still felt she shouldn't move too much. She was still dizzy and didn't want to risk bumping into something if she stood up.
Christ. This sucked ass.
Though, admittedly, Jaz was a little surprised Rin decided to just leave without questioning her about what happened, especially because Jaz, once again against her better judgment, was willing to share. Guess that'll have to come later, I suppose, she thought. Hopefully not.
She was half naked, lying on her comfy black couch. Without getting up Jasmine tied her long golden hair into a pony tail and moved it to her side so it didn't accidentally touch and irritate her back. She fished out her phone from her shorts' pocket and began browsing the internet. Nothing else to do while she waited anyway.

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin had been cornered by their conversation. The girl completely understood the concept of making regrettable mistakes that one was unable to take back. Getting into combat with a quirk user was something that was bound to be taken serious. The hero community was still building their reputation and foundation. If they started out on the wrong foot, with public appearances in the negative, then regardless of whether the system was effectively a boon or not, it could be shut down by social movements. Jasmine risked being removed from the school to avoid such a scenario if her circumstances came to light. Even if only to set an example. On the flipside, Jasmine had several hundred stings from hornets. Allergic reactions to such things could lead directly to asphyxiation. Without knowing anything else than that, Rin set out to find a solution where Jasmine could receive something to counter an allergic reaction, without bringing to light exactly what had happened. Rin had a fairly decent idea of exactly how such a thing could be achieved. It'd be unpleasant, but hopefully she could finally earn a little trust from her blonde classmate.
So Rin went outside to the training area, behind the school, where several large trees remained. Here, the girl began searching for something. Going by sound, because the area was rather large, it didn't take her too long to find it. Still, the trip back and forth on its own was rather long. Interacting with people in the meantime also took a handful of minutes. So twenty minutes later, a soft knock was placed on Jasmine's door, before Rin opened it and stepped inside. Figuring that Jasmine would've been able to call for help if anything had happened, leaving her mostly to her own devices hadn't been too heartbreaking. Normally leaving behind someone in poor shape went directly against Rin's principles, but in this situation if she wanted to fulfill all parameters, she had very little choice.
"Jasmine-chan, I'm back, and I brought you some meds... Against hornet stings, tha-that is..." Rin said with a soft tone. A small container with four pills inside were placed on Jasmine's table, next to the water bottle. Rin had acquired these from the nurse, without so much as mentioning another student having been stung. The girl had wandered to the forest area to find a hornets nest. Taking a deep breath, with her right hand, she had knocked the nest down, resulting in a buzzing swarm of angry insects. Rin hadn't been stung nearly to the same effect as Jasmine had, but her right arm had fifteen stings. It was painfull, swollen, itchy and scratchy. Especially in the warmth, which made it all the worse.
To the school nurse, Rin had truthfully explained that she wasn't aware of whether she herself had any kind of allergies to hornets, although she was fairly certain she did not. Explaining that she had been in the trees behind the training area, a moment of stupidity had led to her getting stung. Being given a couple of simple pills to combat an allergic reaction, Rin was told to return immediately if there were anything out of the ordinary. Having taken one for the team, she had provided Jasmine with a safety net. "N-no one knows that you were in a fight. E-except for me... Want to talk about what happened?" Rin was trying her damndest to hide the series of stings on her right arm under the cloth, but if Jasmine was at all clear in the head, it'd be painfully obvious to notice.

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly Somewhere down the line between resting and being bored, Jasmine felt her concussion slowly receding. While she was still somewhat dizzy, it wasn't anything as major as it had been a little over an hour earlier. Due to the cream in her first aid and Rin's help, the pain in her back had also been more or less numbed, meaning she could finally move a little. The girl had finally decided to move a little, testing out the waters while waiting for the class prez to come back after whatever she was doing.
There was a pile of uneven clothes in a random corner of her room. It was washed, just not ironed - she hadn't found the time. Jasmine rummaged through it for a little while, tossing this shirt here and that pair of pants there. Eventually she decided on a simple black Guns and Roses top that she had from way back when. It was still her size, just a little short, revealing her flat yet rather toned stomach. She had also exchanged her previous sweaty and slightly torn skirt and thigh highs for a pair of loose white sweatpants. Her boots were kicked off somewhere to the side as she decided to stay bare foot - the tiles of her room weren't even that cold.
Fishing an ice-cold Red Bull out of her fridge, Jasmine settled on her couch again, leaning onto her knees. She played with the can in her hands, head slumped as she stared down at the tin object. Christ, she felt bad. Not because of the fight anymore, no - that was already set in stone to make her day a fucking nightmare. No, she more so felt bad about the way she treated Rin. The girl only wanted to help, honestly. And Jasmine was being a total cunt to her. Sure, you couldn't help those who didn't want to be helped, but Jasmine needed to be helped; she was just being stubborn about it. Jasmine sighed; she really screwed the pooch this time, didn't she?
As if on cue, the blonde heard a knock on her door, making her glance over towards it. Rin came back about twenty minutes after she had left and Jasmine had to quirk a brow when she saw how the girl was trying to cover one of her arms. Her voice had also hitched. She offered Jasmine some medicine. How the hell did she get them?
When Jasmine noticed exactly what Rin was hiding, it all started to make sense. A nurse wouldn't randomly give a student pills unless there was some kind of reason for it. And those stings on her arm looked like one hell of a reason. Jasmine sighed again, yet this time a faint smile could be seen appearing on her lips, "You're a total dumbass. Cute. But still a dumbass. I hope you know that." She said, yet meant no ill will behind it.
Setting the pills and the energy drink on her table, Jasmine gently gripped Rin's wrist - careful not to touch any of the stings - and pulled Rin closer, "Come here and stay still," she said, forcing the girl to sit on the couch. Grabbing the tube Rin had used before, she spread a little of it on her fingers and began to gently rub it over the multiple stings on her arm.
"I, uhh... sorry. You know, for being a total bitch back there," Jasmine offered without looking at her. "You only wanted to help and I was being stupid about it. My bad, Rin. And thanks. For the meds." After she was done with the cream, Jasmine looked over towards the pills Rin had gotten her. She emptied the container into her hand, four pills falling out. Without a second thought Jasmine downed two, opened the Red Bull, and used it to wash it down. Then she passed the other two pills and the drink to Rin, "Here. You need them as much as I do now."

WORD COUNT: 661 TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Rin hadn't been able to properly hide the stings on her arm. Not that the girl had believed she'd be able to properly conceal anything for even a moment. It was still a little disappointing to her how quickly the blonde girl had noticed. Jasmine wasn't stupid. It was likely a combination of realizing that the nurse wouldn't simply hand out pills for no reason, combined with Rin's inadequacy in hiding the mildly pained expression on her face. Grimacing slightly at Jasmine's words, Rin replied in the same vulnerable tone. "I couldn't just let you suffer the stings, Jasmine-chan." Rin tilted her head slightly to the side. Allowing anyone to suffer wasn't an acceptable outcome to any dilemma. "I couldn't let you down and get the nurse directly involved either.. I'd not forgive myself if I got you expelled." Fiddling with her left hand, the darkened locks were being toyed with, rolling through her fingers as she finally reached the conclusion. The way Rin spoke, it truly did just sound matter of fact. "So I knocked a hornets nest to get you aid.. It didn't hurt as bad as I thought it might ha--"
A gentle grasp around her wrist, followed by a gentle tug, had Rin somewhat awkwardly end up sitting in the couch, her back against Jasmine. The girl's stung right arm closer to Jasmine. Just as Rin was about to declare that she was in good enough shape to sort the stings out herself, Jasmine made a point of stating for her to sit still. "N-no, p-please Jasmine-chan...! I can, uhm.. f-fix it myself.. Really!" Rin stuttered nervously, but to no real avail. Lowering her head in shame, as Jasmine began working towards the stings further up her arm, things began to reveal themselves from the veil. Rather than complaining or making a fuss, Rin remained quiet. Unusually quiet, almost holding her breath. As Jasmine lifted the sleeve to look at Rin's arm, a few other secrets than pure hornet stings revealed themselves. There were several light blue or purple marks up her arm that looked like large fingers. As if someone had grasped a tight hold of her to move her around forcefully, hurting her in the process. Someone that was many sizes larger than Rin. Suddenly it became incredibly apparent why Rin had attempted to get to do the sting cleaning herself...
Blowing a bit of dark hair away from her face, Rin seemed to have calmed down entirely. Since there was no longer anything that she could hide from Jasmine, a lot of the tension to these few actions were drying out in the sand. "Please, don't apologize.. you weren't in right of mind.. a-and I'm sure I was too forceful in tr-trying to help.." The awkwardness of the young female had skyrocketed, as if Jasmine had opened Pandora's box. Rin accepted the pills, breathing softly. Perhaps Jasmine hadn't noticed the marks after all. Perhaps Jasmine had noticed and chosen not to say anything. Or perhaps the blonde girl simply didn't know what to say. Sipping a bit of the drink, the sweet sugary consistency that was redbull was foreign to Rin. Energy drinks weren't all that common in her household, they were far too expensive. Grimacing a little, Rin promptly turned the can around to begin reading what it consisted of. The sapphire blue eyes taking in the words of the can. Desperately seeking any kind of distraction to what was going on...
"S-so many f-foreign substances in these things, huh..." Rin commented quietly.

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly Jasmine wasn't oblivious to the clear abuse marks on Rin's skin. She was actually pretty appalled by them. But at that particular moment the stings took precedence. If Rin decided the stings on Jasmine's back were worth so much attention, the blonde girl decided to repay her classmate in kind. It was only appropriate, really. Especially considering the means Rin took to acquire her medicine, which the girl had explained to her. Honestly Jasmine could only snicker at her; she was so caring to the point of putting herself in danger it was almost cute. Dumb, but cute nonetheless.
But then when everything was said and done Jasmine sighed. After Rin had taken the medicine, the blonde girl leaned forward and gently rested her forehead against Rin's back. She took a moment, trying to assess the situation in her head. She just breathed. In and out. She had seen abuse back home. A lot of it. Some much more severe than this, yet unforgivable just the same. Jasmine wondered what was the cause of this. A father? A brother? A step family? Bullies? Frankly she wanted to borderline murder all of the above if that was the case. But she remained quiet. Situations like these were... sensitive. And being brash about them wasn't going to help anyone, let alone Rin who very likely had some mental trauma to boot. Rin was obviously threatened to keep quiet about it otherwise she would have said anything, and Jasmine wouldn't have been surprised if the girl was scared enough to actually listen to that bullshit.
Taking a long, drawn out breath, Jasmine finally spoke out, her voice low yet soft, caring and concerned, "Listen, Rin, I saw the... the bruises. I don't know what you're going through and I don't want to pry but... if you want to talk about it, I'm here, okay? I'll listen. I promise, yeah?" She knew this type of situation. How vulnerable the victim was. She hated the fact that she had to keep quiet about it too, but she reckoned the moment Jasmine opened her mouth about seeking help from the authorities or Yuuei, shit might go entirely south.
And so she just gave Rin her space. If the girl wanted to talk, they'd talk. If she didn't... well, she'd take matters into her own hands. That's all there really was to it. And what came afterwards, well... as long as the girl who cared for her was safe, Jaz didn't really care.

WORD COUNT: TAGGED: TAGGED: Fluffy Of course it had been noticed. Hiding that kind of thing wasn't ever going to last long. Little by little, every single person that got too close would figure things out. A recurring theme. Perhaps that is why Enzo, Rin's father, had been so adamant about keeping Rin locked away in her room. A tower that no friends would reach or pierce. To keep the truth hidden away from the world. Being taught that speaking to others would harm him, disappoint him, upset him. Shackles tied around the heart of a daughter who helplessly loved her father, unconditionally. The world out here that he was trying to keep her away from, had kept calling her name. The few people that had begun communicating with her, refusing to let silence be a language. Rin swallowed, fingers grasping into the fabric of the couch harshly. Despite th is, the girl's voice was exceedingly calm, with happy tones. If Jasmine hadn't realized until now, it suddenly became abundantly clear. All the vulnerable sides of Rin were hidden away by caring for others, placing a smile on her lips. At first, it would sound like Rin was replying to something else entirely... but if Jasmine listened, the message was clear.
"..I like your room, Jasmine-chan. I actually finished the paperwork, to request moving into the dorms too. The administration at Yuuei is currently looking for a place to put me. In a few days, perhaps we could be neighbors!" It was the only way Rin could communicate it. How actions were being taken to move her away from the source of the misery, how she herself had become aware that things shouldn't have ever been the way they were. Despite the mental and physical abuse, that pitiful man would always remain her father. The woman that gave up on everything, not even caring to properly check up on her family, would always remain her mother. From what Rin understood, her own brother had been going through quite the miserable time as well. Despite everything, Rin was fairly sure she would never stop loving her father, nor would she stop loving her mother... but her brother was the only one in her family deserving of any love still...
Clearing her throat, rubbing her eyes, Rin had barely managed to avoid getting too emotional. No one cared for a crybaby. Still, the topic of conversation was a dreadful one. Tilting her head to the side, Rin's eyes met with Jasmine's. A change of topic, yes... "Was it easy for you, Jasmine-chan?... U-uhm, moving out to live on your own, I mean?" Rin asked quietly, diverting the conversation away from herself if at all possible. Scratching the back of her own hand nervously, getting Jasmine involved wasn't fair. It wasn't fair at all... "..B-but I have to get home... I can't keep my father waiting for too long.. a-and I'm already delayed."

There's a fine line from who I am and who I wanna be Amazed at what I find when I look within, honestly This feeling was familiar. While Jasmine had never experienced something like this herself on account of not really having any parents around for as long as she could remember, she had seen many kids struggle under the reigns of abusive parents. Scars, bruises, broken bones and sometimes even worse. But, arguably worst of all, was the mental trauma. How the children were often made and borderline bred to feel as though they were never good enough. As though there was a problem with them that required educating. She didn't know if Rin's case was the same, but that's what she had seen back in New York. The number of children suffering because of bums for parents was... appalling. But also sad. Too sad, honestly.
Jasmine never knew the love of a parent. She'd had several people who took care of her, but nothing close to what she assumed a father or a mother would be. This question confused her. Was it better to be like Rin and so many of the other children who suffered because of their parents? Or was it better to be like her and be left alone to fend for herself? She didn't know the answer. Perhaps she could find it, over time. But she sure as hell knew that both of those options were horrible.
Remaining quiet, the blonde sixteen-year-old only smiled as Rin spoke. She didn't want to talk about what had happened. She likely couldn't even talk about it, Jasmine reckoned. She could understand and respect it. It was her choice. With time, perhaps Rin would eventually open up about it, but in the meantime she wouldn't press. As much as she wanted to help, this wasn't any of her business. And yet she understood what Rin's words meant. She was looking to move out. To finally leave home and spring free from her cage.
It surprised Jasmine how wrong she was about Rin, honestly. Prior to the discovery of the bruises on her body and the rather... disgusting revelation they carried with them, Jasmine thought Rin was nothing but a dunce. A bit weak and fragile, butting her nose into peoples' business like a dumbass. But now she knew. She wasn't weak at all. Frankly the fact that she went through abuse and was still able to smile through it all told Jasmine exactly how strong Rin was. Or how strong she could be. Yeah, maybe it was just a coping mechanism. Caring about people was also likely a coping mechanism. But just the fact that she could keep this ruse up for so long told Jasmine a story of its own.
Slowly, Jasmine wrapped her arms around Rin's shoulders and snugged a little closer, spreading a little of her own warmth. It wasn't anything sexual - Rin was cute, but she wasn't really her type - just a friendly gesture. She ignored Rin's question. It was clearly a way to deflect attention from herself. This wasn't the first time Rin used something like this. She knew it wouldn't be the last. But she hoped Rin would eventually feel comfortable talking to her.
Besides... her own past? That was a story for another time. Not something she wanted to revisit. She was feeling plenty like shit already and reopening that wound for the bazillionth time would've been like the nail in the coffin to a really fucked up day.
"How about you move in with me? You already like the room. And it's supposed to be a two-person room anyway. I hate staying here by myself so I'd love to room together. You know, if you want to?" Jasmine smiled. A smile that almost faded when she realized Rin needed to get back to reality. Both of them did. Rin needed to get home - back to the cause of it all. And because of this little blunder with Vespa's hornets and her own inability to take care of herself, she likely made things worse for Rin.
Jasmine sighed; to say that she felt bad would be an understatement. "Yeah, I get it. I won't keep you," she said, gently squeezing Rin's shoulder. "Just... think it over, alright? I promise I don't bite..." Jasmine added a cheeky grin, "A lot."
