APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Alaster is a tall and slightly thin young man. He has short and usually slightly untidy white hair, light skin, a small and slightly pointed nose, and usually always has a smile on his face. He usually squints, making his grey eye color difficult to notice. However, when disguising himself as a civilian, Alaster tends to comb his hair back neatly, as well as ceasing his usual squinting, making his usually hard to notice grey eyes easy to see.
Alaster is British, as are both of his parents.
Although they are not very noticeable and are usually covered by his clothes, there are numerous minor scars and bruises all over Alaster's body from years of injuries, fights, and beatings.
Alaster tends to wear many different kinds of outfits, especially when disguised or in his civilian persona. However, he usually likes wearing a consistent outfit when doing his villainous deeds. His usual villain attire consists of a gray shirt with long black sleeves, black tight pants, black and gold shoes, golden bands around his wrists and upper legs, a purple cloth wrapped around his waist, and a cape-like robe. The robe is black on the outside, purple inside, is fastened by a gold plate on Alaster's chest, and has six white eyes on the collar. Sometimes, he wears a crow mask to cover his face, but often times, the outfit is enough.
POSITIVE
✔ Calm, fearless, observant, loyal, determined, friendly to trustworthy people
NEGATIVE
✖ Sadistic, arrogant, ruthless, misanthropic, distrustful, blunt
LIKES
✔ Meiko Hagane (loves above all else), books, writing, classical music, nighttime, honesty, loyalty, birds (especially crows and ravens), bloodshed
DISLIKES
✖ Anyone who hurts those he cares about, most humans, failure, the law, bright lights (especially the Sun), writer's block, loud noises, scarecrows
Personality:
Alaster is happy and cheerful on the surface. He may find it difficult to open up to others due to trust issues, but when he does open up, he shows them nothing less than kindness and affection. He shows intense and undying loyalty to those who do the same. He may be a villain, but even he has some form of moral code. He'll never stab anyone in the back, unless they betrayed him first. Alaster always keeps his promises and never goes back on his word. He tries his best to be a gentleman and a nice guy.
Underneath the surface, however, is a different story. Years of trauma and depression has unhinged Alaster and has mentally damaged and twisted him. He puts up a cheerful persona to hide his pain and misery. He views almost all of humanity as sick, vile, and irredeemable monsters, unless he meets someone who can make him change his opinion of that person. Because of this and the torture he went through throughout his life, he takes great pleasure in inflicting pain on others and watching them suffer. He tends to be cold towards those he doesn't care about, and even those he does care about can be hurt by his unintentional insensitivity towards them at times.
Most of the time, Alaster is quite calm, never letting anyone upset or anger him so easily. He is a man who usually knows how to keep his emotions in check, and has little trouble doing so. However, that changes completely should anyone mess with the few people that he cares about. He becomes very wrathful and angry, lashing out at those who harm or try to harm those that matter to him, not being satisfied until every inch of their body is twitching in pain. He even lashes out against those who try to get in his way. Despite this, he never intentionally tries to harm those he cares about, becoming remorseful should he end up accidentally doing so.

HISTORY
Alaster Corvus was born in a small town in England. Sadly, his early life was not a happy one. At the mere age of five, his mother was driving him back from the amusement park, when a car had suddenly hit them. Alaster had miraculously suffered only a minor injury, but Alaster's mother was not so lucky. This sudden loss of his beloved mother was too much for Alaster to bear. Unfortunately, things would only get worse.
His father was devastated as well. He began drinking heavily to try to ease the pain. However, he was a violent drunk. He blamed Alaster for his wife's death. Remorselessly, he began to regularly beat his own son. It only got worse when he had remarried four years later. Alaster's stepmother hated him. She would often neglect to feed him, bathe him, or buy him new clothes. Alaster would only get the bare minimum, forcing him to learn to take care of himself at a very young age. She would ignore Alaster's father beating the poor child, and would sometimes even join in the beating. However, Alaster would not cry, not in front of them, for he would not give them that satisfaction, and they would beat him for crying anyway. He simply took the verbal and physical abuse and kept the pain inside, always smiling as though nothing was wrong.
Alaster's school life wasn't much better either. He was always seen as the weird kid by the others. If he wasn't being ignored by the other kids, then he was usually picked on and beaten by bullies. No matter how many times Alaster tried to get help from the teachers, they would always ignore him, not believing that their precious students could ever treat anyone so horribly. Alaster never made any friends, never met anyone to confide in or help him. He was all alone, and he eventually gave up trying to get help from anyone. He just shut them all out and did his best to ignore everyone. He was tired of looking at the cruel world and everyone who lived in it, so he decided to keep his eyes almost completely shut.
Alaster only had two sources of comfort. The first was in writing. He would keep a journal on him at all times. He'd write various poems and stories. Bullies would often take his journal and either rip it into pieces, read it in front of others who'd laugh at him, or both. Despite this, Alaster would continue to write, not letting anyone stop him from putting his thoughts on paper. His other source of comfort was the crows that lived in the nearby park. Alaster would take food from his house and feed the crows. They would treat him far better than anyone else would. They wouldn't beat him or ignore him or hate him simply for breathing. Every day, he would walk to the park and feed the birds. The crows would keep him company. Alaster rarely cried, but he had no problem crying in front of the birds. Unlike humans, crows wouldn't make fun of him. The crows were Alaster's first real friends.
Unfortunately, this happiness would not last long. On Alaster's eleventh birthday, as Alaster made his way to the park to visit the crows, he was horrified to see two of the bullies from his school trying to throw rocks at four of the poor birds. Angrily, he ran up to the bullies and tried to make them stop. One of the bullies pushed him to the ground and beat him. The other bully watched and laughed while trying to hit the crows. Then, he had managed to hit one of the crows in the head, killing it instantly. Alaster had snapped, and began to scream. This had triggered his long dormant quirk to activate, causing the remaining crows to attack the two bullies. Angrily and violently, they pecked and clawed at the kids, traumatizing them and making them flee in horror. Afterwards, the bullies' parents furiously called both Alaster's parents and the police. In the town where Alaster lived, quirks were uncommon, but not unheard of. The bullies, who incidentally were quirkless, lied and had said that Alaster was bullying them for being quirkless and had used his quirk to attack and torture them. Of course, nobody believed Alaster when he tried to explain the truth of what really happened. He was sent to a special juvenile detention center for those with quirks, where he stayed for over four years.
Surprisingly, Alaster's stay in the detention center wasn't nearly as horrible. Sure, there were the usual rude delinquents, but not all of the people there were horrible. Most people just left him alone. Alaster would just stay in his room and write all day. One of the security guards had once taken his journal and didn't confiscate it, since he was very impressed by Alaster's writing. He told Alaster to work hard on it, and that he should focus on writing instead of getting into fights. Alaster was more than fine with that. On the day Alaster was released, he had wrote a small book and let that guard keep it.
Alaster was finally released at the age of 15. However, he had no intention of going back home, and his father and stepmother wouldn't take him back even if he wanted to. He decided to look for a job, save up money, and move far away from this hellhole of a town. Try as he might, Alaster had trouble finding legitimate work. Desperate for a job and money, he reluctantly joined a small local gang known as the Yardboys. Under the alias Crowley, he was tasked with various shady jobs, such as making drug deals, disposing of bodies, and even torturing people for information. At this point, Alaster no longer cared about committing crimes. In fact, he slowly began to enjoy spilling blood and causing others to suffer like he had throughout his life. The world was full of horrible people, so what did it matter to him if he broke a couple of laws and limbs? Although he never fully trusted the Yardboys, they slowly became almost like family to him, since they actually treated him with some respect. He never got caught by the police, although there were many close calls.
Over a year later, and with the help of some of the gangsters, he managed to save enough money to get fake IDs and passports, buy a plane ticket to Japan, and leave his former life behind him forever to start anew. Alaster spent many months learning Japanese at a local school while working at a hotel in Tokyo to pay for his room. He also continued writing on the side under the alias Harry R. Krowe. His books weren't masterpieces by any means, but they sold decently enough. Still, he was only just getting by. He needed more money, and not just for himself. Alaster wanted to pay back those gangsters in England who helped him. Try as he might, he could not make enough on just a legal job and writing books.
Thus, he once again resorted to joining a local gang. They were called the Deadlock Gang, and Alaster was payed to do their dirty work to make more money than he could make alone at that point. In a few months, he moved to a small apartment of his own, where he had lived somewhat comfortably. It wasn't a bad life, certainly far better than back in England. However, it still felt like Alaster was missing something. He was just living for the sake of surviving somehow. He had no true purpose of his own.
But all of that changed on one fateful day. While on his phone, Alaster noticed that he had been added to an online chatroom filled with other villains. Alaster was intrigued and pleasantly surprised by the lot. They were for the most part not as bad as the people he knew back in England. It was funny how a group of complete strangers, all of which were villains, would eventually become more like family to Alaster than his real family ever were.
And then came that day when Alaster's life had seemingly turned upside down. Not long after being added to the villain chat, Alaster was visiting a cafe. It was there that he met one of the villains from the chatroom. Meiko Hagane, the woman who Alaster had fallen in love with, and even had his first kiss with! He was just astonished. With all the hell he had been through, now things were going well for him? Someone not only did not hate him, but liked him enough to fall in love with him of all people? Perhaps the world was not as shitty as he thought it was. To this day, Alaster did not know how on earth he was lucky enough to have met this woman.
But there was one thing Alaster did know. He had a purpose now. After being lost for so long, after not knowing what to do other than just surviving somehow, Alaster finally had a goal in life, one that was worth fighting for. He would do everything in his power to make sure that his beloved Meiko was happy and safe. To help her get everything she ever wanted. Anyone who would harm or even threaten to harm his angel would experience the wrath of a demon. A slow, gruesome, and painful torture, which would then be followed by an even more horrific death. Nobody would hurt Meiko and get away with it. Alaster was determined to make sure of that!
Despite having met the love of his life, despite having gradually made more and more money from his successful books, despite finally buying a house for he and Meiko to move into together, despite things finally going right for him, Alaster still had his fair share of hardships to deal with. One of these hardships lay with the gang Alaster had once enjoyed working with. Relationships with the Deadlock Gang were growing more and more sour. Heated arguments, death threats, failed missions due to incompetence from the gang members, Alaster being blamed unjustly for said failures and incompetence. Eventually, it even led to a failed attempt on Alaster's life. Naturally, the man was furious. He did not tolerate betrayal very well. After devoting his time and money to help them, they would just turn on him? Fine, he did not need them anyway! All he needed was Meiko and the few important allies he had made during his stay in Japan.
And so Alaster's story continues. But will it continue to be plagued with hardships and misery? Or will he be able to carve his way to happiness, no matter who gets in his way? That remains to be seen.
