| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Finally, school was over and done with for today. Ingrid was bored out of her mind. She wanted to go do something fun. Homework wasn't fun. School wasn't fun. But what to actually do? Well for now, the Italian girl would just go relax at a nearby cafe. Clear her head a bit and figure out what the plan was for today. "One coffee, please. A bunch of sugar and cream on the side. Like four or five for each. Oh, and a croissant sandwich, please!"After paying for her food (yes she pays, just because she was a criminal, that did not mean that the girl always had to act like one), Ingrid decided to sit down at one of the empty tables near the back of the cafe. Not that she didn't mind any company, but at the moment, Ingrid just felt like chilling by herself as she ate. Any possible friendly conversation with a stranger could wait till after the girl was done with her sandwich. As she ate her sandwich and sipped her very sweetened coffee, Ingrid cringed upon hearing the very tacky song being played throughout the cafe. What is this J-pop crap? It sucks! Gimme some actual good music! The girl shook her head disapprovingly as she was about to open her backpack and reach for her headphones to listen to something, anything else. Just not this garbage in sound form! But then, Ingrid had an idea. A very naughty idea that put a very wide grin on the girl's face. No, why should she have to go out of her way to put on her headphones while the other customers had to suffer this horrid excuse for music? No, if this cafe would try to assault her ears with this J-pop trash, then in the girl's eyes, it was only fair to fight back. Taking out her very special tablet, Ingrid grinned mischievously as she got to work, thinking to herself as she began to rapidly swipe and type. Okay, should I go with actually good music to counter this crap, or play some meme songs for the shits and giggles? Eh, why not a mix of both? Let's give this cafe a real treat now, shall we? Surprise everyone by- oh wow, this place's security sucks big time! Who knew it would be this easy? Alright, I'm in! Let's get this party started! And with a grin, Ingrid began her opening act. The tacky pop song was swiftly cut short and replaced with an old Eurobeat classic. Several of the other customers looked confused by the sudden change of the song. There were a couple of people, however, who seemed pleased by the new song playing. While the cafe staff began to look around in confusion, Ingrid began to innocently chew on her sandwich, hiding her tablet under the table and pretending to be just as confused and surprised as everyone else. She was determined to not be caught as the culprit so easily. But perhaps there was someone here who had noticed her earlier mischievous grinning? If so, then the Italian girl might not be alone for much longer.... WC 528 |

She had finished the jobs that she had to do for the family and as it was about four in the afternoon, she had a few hours left to spare. She wondered what to do though, she mostly did not have a lot of money as she would get the minimum amount of allowance. It was a miracle she had an expensive pair of headphones, for a job well done. Which was rare and it made her conscious of the fact that they might try to buy her or blackmail her into something she was scared of. But right now it seemed it had gone fine, there was no device in her headphones that could track her or listen in to her conversations, which was something. Not that she could trust the guy she had gone to but she had nowhere else to go. She had decided to try and enjoy her life a little more, it was a very hard thing to do but she could at least try? So she would try and grab a drink somewhere and just enjoy that, think of a plan to escape and work that out in her notebook.
She took a seat near the bar and tried to keep her headphones on so no one would see her pointy ears. The riots in Tokyo had made her scared but not many people paid her a second look here and after a while, she took it off and would just listen to the music that had no real beat in it. There had been definitely been better pop songs out there. This was not one of them. She swung her legs and enjoyed her large caramel and chocolate milkshake. She was excited about it, she never really bought sweets but now she had enough money for it and boy did she like sweets. She was in her element and in her own made-up language (or so she believed) she wrote things in her little notebook. She remembered vaguely the language her mother spoke to her and she now used that as the Family did not know that language.
Karou stopped halfway during her sentence because it made no sense, the music swapped halfway through into another one and her sharp hearing picked it up immediately. She quickly looked around the dimly lighted room and wanted to see what happened. The people that worked here looked up to the ceiling where the speakers were and just frowned, so it wasn't planned. But her eyes quickly noticed someone in the corner, putting something away and laughing, was that the person that changed it? That was actually fascinating? Should she talk to her? Karou looked around, she wasn't sure if she dared but her eyes kept lingering on the girl, should she ask? Maybe she could put up a good dancing song.
But what if she would yell at her, Karou was really scared of other people, she wasn't used to kindness and also did not dare to trust it. Her cat-like eyes remained looking at the person if only she could offer another milkshake but she did not have the money for that.

| ◀ | Prezioso fascio di gioia ❤ Ingrid needed to resist the urge to sing along to the song's lyrics, or headbang too much, or laugh at the frantically confused looks of the employees as they tried their best to figure out what just happened. This was all a game to her, and the last thing she wanted was for it to end way too quickly because of a screw-up on her part. No, it was best to feign ignorance for now, pretend as though she was not the sinister mastermind behind this particular prank. Ingrid wanted to do her best to hide in plain sight, to act just as surprised as everyone else here.
However, it would seem as though the mischievous little gremlin was not careful enough, as someone had spotter her earlier grinning. Someone was looking right at her! Aww, I was noticed this soon? Ingrid thought to herself. Oh well. I guess I need to work on my stealth, subtlety, and deception skills. Well there was no point in worrying. It was not as though the show was over just because one person saw her smile. It was not as though the girl saw Ingrid's special hacking tablet. Now that would have been awful!
But then Ingrid smiled. An idea formed in her head. What was the point of putting on a show if there was no audience to appreciate the tricks? Seeing as that girl had seen Ingrid's mischievous grin, then why not invite her to see more of what Ingrid had to offer? It was a crazy thought, perhaps. Still, it was entertaining enough for the Italian girl to consider. What was the worst that would happen? Ingrid getting ratted out? Who cares about that? It was not like Ingrid would let that stop her so easily. Plus, this was a good chance to help put a smile on someone's face. Maybe even make a friend if things went well enough?
Well, there was only one way to find out.
"Psssst, come here." Ingrid whispered as she smiled at the girl, gesturing to her to come closer. If that girl wanted to see a real show, then Ingrid was more than happy to deliver. However, what if she did not want to come closer? It made sense. Most people knew or learned not to trust strangers. So it was fine if that girl proved to be too distrusting or too shy. Still, Ingrid wanted to try her best to let her potential audience know that she really had nothing to fear.
