| A ngel was absolutely thrilled for the night's events! Not only was it Halloween, but the students of U.A. as well as the pro heroes had managed to stop an actual zombie apocalypse! In Angel's mind that was a cause for celebration, and so she got together with the other class reps and the Principal and was given permission for them to throw a Halloween Costume! Luckily aside from their fighting training the students had plenty of skills that allowed them to put together the event with relative ease with various well done decorations, snacks and beverages and music! All the students needed to do now was choose their costumes! Sadly since Miyami who was Angel's girlfriend wasn't a student at U.A. she was unable to come to the dance. Luckily Angel had someone else close to her that she could in her own 2nd year future partner Kumoko Joro! As for Angel's costume she had to keep it somewhat simple since she was still healing from her recent surgery to fix her two broken ribs on her left side which she had gotten by tanking a rocket strike explosion while helping the Principal get the cure for the zombies. She decided on a female pirate costume with a frilly white shirt, a pink corset, black leggings, a long brown trench coat with matching hat and a pair of black leather pirate boots. Once she was dressed since her wings were still on the mend from having shrapnel removed from them she kept them flat against her back under coat. The dance was to start at 6 P.M, but Angel decided to head down to auditorium where it was being held to check everything out a bit ahead of time. Rowan and the cooking club had been in charge of various snacks like punch, cookies, caramel apples, candy of assorted kinds and more while Red Horn and her sidekick Jasmine had offered to decorate and build for the dance as well as the support course. Angel had also approached Jasmine for a second yet important task, and that was being the DJ for the dance. Once Angel arrived she couldn't help but be impressed by the banners, graffiti, large wooden painted pumpkins and rather spooky lighting which she found herself in. She was also pleased at the smell of the various treats around her. For something they had put together on rather short notice it all came together quite beautifully! Not wanting the party goers to walk into the party in silence Angel jumped onto the stage where the music equipment was and went through their approved selection quickly. "Let's see here..Ah! Here we go!"Upon finding a remix of the song "spooky scary skeletons" in the music list she popped it on with a smile and nodded her head along before jumping back down to wait for the rest of the party goers to arrive both students and faculty alike. |

The pea inside the spray paint clanked against the aluminum insides of the can as Jasmine shook it in her hand. Jasmine's bright blue eyes traced the lines of the last piece of art she had yet to complete for the yearly occasion. A small smile played its way onto her lips. The lass certainly didn't think she'd find herself in this position when she first came back to Japan to ask Mia if she could crash on her couch as she had about five dollars to her name. Participating in the dance? Maybe. Even then it would've been quite the stretch in her mind. Helping organizing it and then playing the part of DJ, though? Yeah. Never in a million years.
Yet there she was, inspecting her work after a series of finishing touches she made sure to be extra careful about. As people started to slowly flood in, the third year hero course student couldn't help but wonder how strange life was. As opposed to how utterly broke -- in more than just a monetary way, might we add - she was when she first arrived, now it seemed like she had more than she'd ever need. Her studies were back on track and then some. Her training, streamlined by the vast range of experiences she'd been through, had pushed her to reach new heights physically, mentally, and emotionally. Her sessions with Mosa successfully urged her to open up to people again and as a result she not only rebuilt the relationships she thought were lost to the void but build new ones as well. The coup the grâce, though, was definitely none other than the girl getting ready to serve at the punch stall.
Her eyes veered over to Rowan, a soft exhale leaving her lips. Once she had a little time she'd definitely need to ask the brunette for a dance.
"Alright... that should do it," Jasmine mused to herself as she stood back up and stretched, moaning quietly as a few bones popped back into place. Her outfit, while not exactly Halloween-esque, held a certain flare to it that made her stand out amidst the crowd of spooky costumes. While a little hesitant at first, Jasmine had to admit she was glad she went to Emi for help. The pinkette had quickly managed to figure out what type of style fit Caldera most, especially after Jasmine had given away what her idea for a 'costume' was. Jasmine even dyed her hair -- again -- just for the occasion. She couldn't help but grin slyly at the thought.
The change in music had caught Jasmine's attention, making her turn her head towards the stage. She spotted another pinkette right by the DJ booth, sifting through the music collection they had picked out for the bash. Her eyes widened slightly before the lass bolted towards her borrowed equipment.
"Yo!" She greeted Angel, chuckling nervously. "Hope the decorations fit the picture. I have a uh... 'little' show planned for the opening. Look forward to it!" Christ she hoped Angel wouldn't snoop below the table where she had a certain something hidden in between all the cans of energy drinks. Setting this whole thing up took a little more time than she had anticipated, meaning the wolf had already went through several allnighters.
Turning to the ever gathering crowd, Jasmine smiled as she inspected all of the Halloween-themed decorations. Almost felt like one of the parties she'd been to back home, minus the alcohol. A snort left her. Old habits die hard.
Taking hold of the microphone, Jasmine tapped it a few times, "Mic check~" she cooed out, nodding to herself when her voice rung through the speakers. "Heya! Thanks for coming! Punch is over there! Snacks over there! Feel free to mingle, we'll start this bad boy out in ten or so minutes!" With that being said, Jasmine put the mic down and let the song play out before the next track -- a more chill, bass-y vibe to play during an interlude period - began to sound off through the large speakers she'd managed to borrow from her studio to add on top of whatever U.A. had could offer them.
If everything went as she planned, this should be one hell of a party. The only person she missed now was a certain white-haired dunce with the voice of an angel. Ironic given Jasmine's own costume.

Melody had not really been planning on doing anything for Halloween really. It wasn't really a holiday she enjoyed all that much, but this year was a bit different. This time Melody had been invited to the dance by Jasmine, not as a date or else she'd have declined but as the singer for the prom! Melody was kind of excited, it was nice to finally have more of her schoolmates pay attention to her singing abilities. Melody had agreed to sing for the event. However what she didn't account for was for an outfit, she looked in her closet and she didn't really have much to wear since melody was bad with planning. However Jaz had mentioned something special to melody that could really jazz (hahaaa jaz, get it?) up the outfit.
Melody showed up right on time that jaz had asked her too, as she was making the announcement as to when exactly the dance would start. She heard jas's little coo and immediately rushed past all the people who showed up. Her bunny girl outfit being shown to everyone around her. It was the same one that had been mentioned in the U.A chat previously when her and Saito were up to shenanigans in there. Melody ran to behind the stage and nodded to jas and gave a small wave to her. "Hey, it all looks great here. I like your outfit a lot too! I'm sure you put a lot of work into all of this." she said as she also waved at angel a bit. "I'm ready to go whenever you need me to, got any songs in mind? I will admit im a bit nervous it's different to perform in front of a bunch of people who you know personally.." she asked curiously to Jas while also sharing some of her anxiety before a performance.

Halloween was definitely an intriguing holiday for a certain spider-headed girl. On one hand, people constantly praised the poor girl for such a detailed and frightening costume she was wearing, all while she kept getting tired of explaining that it was just her quirk. The terrified expressions certainly didn't help either. But on the other hand, Halloween meant an abundance of candy, which the girl absolutely loved. Especially candy corn. That was just the best! Overall, despite the negative aspects she had to deal with throughout her life, Kumoko was honestly more thrilled than weary whenever October 31st rolled around. This year would perhaps be even better, thanks to the school dance. Initially, Kumoko had no interest in going. After all, why deal with both being lonely due to having no one to dance with (since in the girl's mind, no one would ever want to ask her for a dance), as well as worrying about tripping and crashing on everyone due to her notorious clumsiness? But then she was asked to come by her senpai and friend Angel, and Kumoko was not one to say no to her friends. So now the spider girl found herself here, walking slowly and carefully in an attempt to avoid tripping. Normally, Kumoko would not have even bothered wearing a costume. She could just dress normally and her spider head would be more than sufficient enough to match the spooky atmosphere of Halloween. But the girl was not lazy. She wanted to at least try and put some effort into getting into the Halloween spirit. So she had sewn her very own Halloween-themed dress. It was very simple. All black, with white spider web patterns on the top portion, and a white spider and web design on the bottom. However, Kumoko would not stop there. She had also wrapped her entire body in several layers of white bandages to resemble a spider-mummy hybrid. Almost everything was covered. Her legs and feet, her arms and hands, her torso (though the dress hid this), her head (but not her whole face, with her eyes, mouth, and fangs still exposed), and even her spider body and spider legs (though there were a few tiny gaps left open so as not to impair her hearing, since the hairs of her spider legs were essentially her ears). And finally, Kumoko got some tinted contact lenses and put them on her six eyes to make the ordinarily golden color into a far more sinister-looking dark gray. Overall, the normally bright-colored spider girl looked far more dark and gloomy. I wonder, does this costume make me look more or less frightening than usual? Either way would be fine. More scary meant being more fitting for Halloween, and less scary meant not giving her friends and classmates a heart attack. Entering the area, Kumoko considered just waiting somewhere out of the way until Angel showed up. But it seemed her winged friend had arrived first. Walking over to her, Kumoko had barely managed to avoid tripping as she went to greet her friend. "Hiiii!" Kumoko grinned, showing her sharp canines. There was no need to buy those fake vampire teeth, as Kumoko's teeth were naturally like that. "Omigosh, that's an awesome costume! Love it!" Kumoko began to worry if her own costume seemed too simple or plain. The spider girl hoped that tonight would prove to be a fun one. WC 569

trick or treat? SHE REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE.
Firstly, Charlotte had never been a fan of Halloween—when “dressing-up as someone else” became synonymous with “beating-up mutant kids that leave their houses after dark”, it was bound to be a sore spot for any aforementioned mutant kid. Everyone else was going around and getting free candy, while pre-adolescent mutant you sat inside like the proverbial black cat.
Japan was supposed to be her escape from that—Halloween seemed like a predominantly American thing, and those days even Americans didn’t seem to celebrate it too awfully much. So, when word of a dance got passed around… Charlie reacted with the equivalent of a “hmm… that’s nice, don’t care,” and thought that that was the end of that conversation.
But then, along came Melody.
It seemed like the pale-haired singer was always pushing the prawn outside of her comfort zone. For some reason, Melody was insistent that the prawn make an appearance. And the mumbled, “I dunno, parties aren’t really my thing…” was not enough to sway the young woman.
“I don’t even have a costume…”
Her argument had fallen apart.
Melody had the perfect idea.
It was thus that Charlotte had shown-up in what could best be described as a “skeleton costume”, clearly homemade. A black t-shirt had the basic shapes of ribs and a spine painted down its front. Over this, she wore a black suit-coat and a scarf that savored of “cobwebs” with how fine and white-gray its fibers were. The black surgical mask she wore to cover her mouthparts was also adorned with a painted “nose and skeleton mouth”, and the scales of her face had similarly been painted with water-based paint.
The irony of an invertebrate dressing as a skeleton for Halloween was not lost on the prawn. But her roommate had seemed so enthusiastic about the idea, Charlie couldn’t say no.
The prawn arrived well-after the others had, and went immediately towards the wall. In her pants pockets, she had her phone, a battery pack, and a cable. In a way, it was her safety net. She could listen to the music and enjoy it from her safe little bubble. All well and good.
From this vantage point, she saw Jaz, who wore this bare midriff, urban outfit. Cosplay? the prawn wondered, Or just… clothes one can’t usually wear at school? No judgement but ma-damn. Angel seemed to be dressed as a pirate—or perhaps a colonial, it was difficult to tell. Weren’t pirates just rogue colonials anyways…?
And then, there was Melody. The prawn looked at her for a moment longer than the others. She hadn’t really seen Melody before the other girl had left, as the prawn was preoccupied with last-minute costume things. But… wow, that bunny costume look was really cute.
The bioluminescent pores on the back of Charlie’s hand winked to life in the din of the darkened room. She was probably glowing all over, come to think of it, but with the sleeves of her suit-coat and face-paint protecting her, the only place one could really see the glow was on the back of her neck or the back of her hands.
Yeah, the prawn was gawking. But… not like anything had started yet, right? What else was she supposed to do?

Post by Alviss Wulfhart on Oct 17, 2020 0:14:41 GMT -4
Alviss loved Halloween though it didn't love him really as he was one of those guys that stuffed his face with candy every so often but more often than not it was because he was a mutant who stood out like a sore thumb. This never deterred him however as his spirit was always clear and unaffected by people and their harsh words. Alviss got up out of his bed of which he often had trouble sleeping in sometimes but his large tail would help him sleep better. Moving toward his closet he would make sure to get all the pieces of his costume on correctly and as it was a custom made outfit for his red panda body that his parents had bought for him, Alviss would make sure to treat it with care.
Placing the boots on then his armor Alviss would check if he had everything on correctly. "Okay that should do it." he would say as he looked in the mirror and smiled. His knight costume was completely on him, complete with a plastic sword and shield of which he wore on his back sheathed to give the impression he was a real knight. He had heard of the halloween party that was for other students here and strolled on over toward the party. Opening the doors to see all the decorations and food the first thing Alviss would notice right away was the amount of males here, that being none at all. All of the guests seemed to be girls, pretty girls he might add and he was feeling ever confident in himself to at least get to dance with one of them if at all possible. "The Shining Knight; Alviss Wulfhart is here!" he announced feeling ever ready to give this party a good show. If anything Alviss was ready to eat some candy and good food or just be there to flirt with all the pretty girls, one or the other really. He chuckled to himself as he looked around the place to see all the neat costumes the girls were wearing.
All of them caught his interest of course but the one that really stood out for now, well to him at least was the girl with the pirate outfit. Sure all of the girls were pretty and he hoped he could land a date with at least one of them but this girl was pretty cute and might be a good start for him to attempt to get a dance with. Would that even be alright though? He was having second thoughts already. Walking in all confident and his head held up high he acted the part of the Knight as he had been playing. "Good evening madams I am looking forward to this festive event you have'th here, it shall be very merry." Alviss's acting wasn't the best. He didn't really know how to act like a knight but you couldn't blame a guy for trying right?
Approaching Angel he would bow politely as he was still trying to play the part. "My lady may'th I ask thy name?" he was definitely trying but he knew very little about how Knights were supposed to act, was he doing it right? "If you will permit me, may'th I have this dance?" he asked her in his best knight impression. He was wondering if this would even work, his confidence could only do so much.

Mia let out a light yawn as she walked out from the back end of the school hall that they were using for the dance. She'd been setting up the decorations in the back and then had some help getting her hair done up. At the end of the day she could have came to the party with something badass and cool but... it had been a tense year, and she felt the kids tonight deserved a laugh, even if it was gonna be slightly at her expense. What came out from back stage was not an Oni but a Unicorn, Mia had done her long blonde main up with enough hairgel to support the skyscraper of a mohawk she was now sporting, a rainbow dye mixed in and her horn done up in white paint to give that unicorn look. The rest of her outfit was just the bindings of her hero costume and some comfortable cargo pants. Really not the most 'effortful' costume but it was hard enough to find shit in her size, and hey, the rainbow mohawk should get enough of a laugh.
Not too sure how to mix with the party just yet, Mia stuck to the side of everything, shooting Jaz a smile as she handled the stage and the music, shooting a two fingered salute her way to boot just to signal off to her she was already doing a grand ol' job.

div align="center"] | E verything was coming along so wonderfully! Not only had not one,but two performers arrived, but also quite a few lovely young ladies and even a dashing young red panda in knight armor. Angel was quite impressed with everyone's costumes especially Kumoko's which was a stunning dress which she probably made herself as well as a clever spider-mummy bandage look which Angel found herself rather impressed by! As Kumoko rushed up to her almost tripping like she always did and complimented Angel's costume the mentor hugged her protege gently and cupped her chin in her hands lightly. "My outfit is nothing compared to that dress! It is quite wonderful! Thank you for being my friend date to the Halloween dance. Since my girlfriend isn't a student here she couldn't come. My costume is actually part of a couples costume. I'm a pirate princess though wearing a corset while attractive is a bit of a pain when you just had a kidney removed and two broken ribs fixed during a zombie invasion."Angel laughed a bit though said laugh while hardy ended in a small pained wince and a touch of her left side. Once she caught her breath however she smiled her trademark grin at her protege sincerely. "I also wanna take this chance to congratulate you for nabbing the #2 2nd year hero spot! That is amazing, and I am so freaking proud as both your friend and mentor. I knew I saw great things in your future. Keep up the good work!"Once Jasmine announced they would be starting shortly Angel remembered that she wanted to go up on stage before the show began. Before she could however the brave and ever so knightly red panda first year approached, and began to speak like a knight asking both her name and if she would like to dance. It was clear that he indeed had interest in her, but sadly for him she was taken and by the opposite sex. That however didn't mean that she had to rain on his parade since he had asked her so nicely, and put on such a nice act. She however also didn't want to lead him on. Though it did give her quite the idea and so she removed her hat and slowly bowed with it before standing up and returning her hat to its proper place she gave him a gentle smile. "My My! Such a dashing knight! We don't many of those on the open seas! I must say I am much more accustomed to attracting the attention of the fair maidens of the kingdoms that I visit. How could Angel Surami the infamous pirate princess reject such a dashing knight's request? I will gladly give you your first dance sir. I must first however step up to the stage so I will return shortly! While i'm gone why don't you talk to my undead yet beautiful first mate. She absolutely loves dashing heroes and princes!"Angel then doing her best to drop a couple hints began to walk away, but as she did so use just the smallest bit of her super strength to lightly hip check the dashing knight toward Kumoko before making her way up to the stage, and smiled at both Jasmine and Melody and did her best to hold back a laugh at Ms.Red Horn. She then quickly took the mic. "Before we get started I would like to thank everyone who helped put this all together on such short notice! I would also like to thank Jasmine and Melody for our musical entertainment & Ms.Red Horn for being our chaperone! All that being said ladies and ghouls I hope you have a spooktacular evening tonight, and now I will be handing the mic off to our lovely D.J. & and her vocal accompaniment!"Before stepping down from the stage however Angel quickly covered the mic and looked toward Jasmine and Melody with a big grin. "Once you lovely ladies are done with your opening numbers, if you don't mind I have a couple of requests? My young protege Kumoko is being courted by a young Red Panda knight, and I'd like to set the mood as it were? I was thinking a Jazz like rendition of the song "remains of the day" and your own take of the romantic classic "Kiss the girl. I would very much appriciate it!Angel then winked at the three women with her scarred eye before slowly getting off the stage. It would be clear to a pro like Red Horn who had worked with Angel before who had a bit of a problem with power restraint that something was up with her as she had not used any of her super strength or speed in getting to and from the stage. As Angel returned to Kumoko and the dashing knight with a smile. She then lightly took Alviss's hands and put one in her left hand and one on her right hip so that he wouldn't touch her healing surgery scar. "I do believe I owe you my first dance, and I am a pirate princess of my word!"She then looked toward the stage, Jasmine and Melody with a smile. "Hit it ladies!" |

Halloween was... a lot of negative words and it was obviously visible on the pale half-English brat that she did not like being here. Surely she had done her best to look her best but she had definitely looked better if you asked her yourself. She had no time to interact with people, she had just kept her eyes on everything going alright. Did you know how difficult it was to be asked as a club to do the food... WHEN THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE CLUB ANYMORE! Seriously where was everyone? She knew Tetsuko was busy, so she forgave her, but where were the others, she managed to persuade Desmoshi to join the club and she was sure Misako must be somewhere but maybe she had been busy with the art club and good gosh she had splattered her favourite shirt with chocolate and she wasn't able to get it out... She felt like a very dumb girl when she had been working her butt off, why did she like cooking again? If no one would come to eat it, she would stuff her whole face with it herself. Right... Smile Rowan, smile.
The 3-B vice president was trying very hard to smile that it more looked like she mutated her face into a grimace. She absolutely did look the part of a wicked witch in that case. Albeit dressed in a simple and short little black dress with heeled boots that reached just around her knee and a wicked witch hat that was pinned on top of her head, to be a little to the site so it looked crooked and such. Her make-up was easy except for bright red lips and that was about it. Really, next time she should have bought purple lipstick, it would fit better. But Rowan was always told that Halloween was a stupid holiday thing and she did not like sweets, which made it well a tough decision to be here. She could have done so much better, for real. She would glance shortly from time to time at the DJ, at least there was someone nice to look at and she waved at Kumoko and Melody, trying to show a little smile. She was also glad to see that Charlie was here, at least someone to talk to that did not seem to be either occupied with someone else or you know captured by the stage.
The person who stood closest to her in the sense of at the side of the dance floor was Kearney-sensei. She had never really spoken to RedHorn which made this really fascinating. "Want some punch, sensei?" She tried to be loud enough to get Mia's attention and hold up an empty cup. Maybe in a bit, she would bring something over for the hard-working DJ... but what if someone spiked the punch when she was gone... why was she alone again and why did she say yes again? Oh right, she did not want the club to die as Haruto and Chisu had worked so hard for it... she was not going to make anyone be disappointed there was no club like this, she needed to advertise!

Things were slowly starting to get started as people walked in, interactions sprouting left and right. Jasmine watched with a keen eye as more familiar faces came into view, noticing those Kumoko, Charlie and Mia, the latter two's costumes erecting an amused chuckle from the DJ. A unicorn? Really, Mia? she thought to herself in between a snicker, then again feeling appreciative of the fact that at least someone thought of something funny.
Jasmine didn't, after all, because today? Today was all about the spook factor and she sure as shit went all in.
A quick feeling of relief washed over Jasmine when Melody finally showed up, the two girls exchanging a few quick pleasantries about their costumes. Despite having told her silver haired peer about the little secret of the show, Jasmine sincerely hadn't believed the costume choice when she first heard about it from Melody herself. Then again, when the secret ingredient was mentioned, the bunny of a haunted rave certainly seemed like it'd fit the bill. She scoffed at the thought.
Before long the time had come to get the show rolling. Jasmine had made a quick few ready checks on the sound and visual equipment before diving into the DJ booth again, her eyes scanning over the many digital processes she orchestrated to make sure everything went by without a hitch. With a few more clicks from her touchscreen mouse, the room began to slowly darken and the music fade into nothingness, signifying the start of the show as she smirked and slapped on a strange black face-mask. An eerie tone began to buzz through the speakers as pitch black darkness enveloped them, urging the participants to quiet down and enjoy their slow descent into madness.
The eerie hum was then joined by a chilling song, Jasmine's own prerecorded and slightly edited voice coming through like the call of a siren, lulling its victims into the promise of a harrowing nightmare. The menacing lullaby kept growing louder and louder, seemingly awakening the room itself as a sudden burst of ultraviolet light began to blink erratically from the stage, slowly spreading along the walls to reveal that the previous decorations had been nothing but a sweet lie meant to elicit a childish form of excitement from the gathered participants. Everything from the carved pumpkins and the drawn skeletons on the walls had seemingly come to life, the ever changing positioning of the lights giving the inanimate objects the illusion of movement. The walls were now very literally crawling with all kinds of hellish beings, from spiders, skeletons ghosts, to witches, specters, demons, and any other kind of fiend your mind would come up with.
Yet it hadn't stopped there. The siren's call had grown quiet, replaced by the slow and calm strum of an all too eerie guitar, Jasmine's own voice nothing but a silent hum... until a laughter far too sinister poked at the hearts of its victims. Through the use of holograms which looked far too real than they should have, the creatures illuminated by the blacklight seemed to have begun very literally emerging from the walls surrounding them, clawing their way out of their perceived prison of an inanimate decoration and invading the participants' reality, actually coming to life. Specters took to the air while demons walked among the students, their grotesque forms and vicious snarls enough to terrify anybody, let alone a group of teenagers.
To make matters even worse, Jasmine had gone the extra mile. That secret she mentioned before? It wasn't just the blacklight. It was also the fact that she had coaxed a few students in the crowd to become part of the show. Hiding inside the holograms, they moved together with the demons, giving their touch actual life whenever they came across a random target. Those few who knew what the show would entail had also prepared their own costumes using blacklight, giving themselves the appearance of glowing demons...
...and Jasmine? When the UV lights shone onto the DJ booth, they revealed Jasmine's true costume, one that could only be seen inside the light, something many thought to be a respite from the darkness.
A toothy, demonic grin twisted upwards on Jasmine's facemask -- an added accessory courtesy of the support studies students -- as Jasmine's now glowing eyes stared down at the students gathered as they were terrorized left and right by creatures that they previously thought didn't exist. But then, the next part of the show.
The true devil's song.

She peaked out from behind an area where the people in the room couldn't see them. She was glad Charlie came at least, having a very familiar face in the crowd calmed her nerves a lot before her performance. She focused on the music Jas was playing for a bit, she had a special plan for her performance. All around the room there were jack-o-lanterns that seemed a bit peculiar if someone inspected them a bit further. It seemed like someone had baggies of water placed on their backs that were filled with water and water balloons covered with white sheets. As soon as jasmine had finished the ambiance for the dance melody had walked forward. She was covered in a black sheet wrapping around her, hiding her face from the crowd. She then had angel approached her with a special request, she looked over to Alviss wulfheart and then to Kumoko as her fear of spiders ignited for a split second before looking away to calm down. It wasn't her fault she had a mutation that immediately sparked fear in melody. Then she felt intense guilt, this is exactly what Charlie was the victim of. She nodded her head to Angel "Sure, I don't mind. I might do a different song though" she said as she went back over to jasmine and whispered in Jas's ear some ideas for songs. A black light spotlight shone on the girl and she placed a hand on her head as if having a headache before she began to laugh wickedly, fully playing into the horror theme of the dance. She ripped off the cloth revealing her costume was now different, she still had her bunny outfit on but now that the backlights were on it showed Melody's true colors. Her once cute outfit had now transformed. Her outfit seemingly seemed stained by red black light paint, she had a purple glow to her now and she had two red x's over her eyes. She looked at the crowd wickedly as the music began "I put a SPELL on you..." she began as she began to sing the song and added her own flare into the song. As her own parlor trick began, melody activated her quirk as the jack o lanterns began to float in the area above where the people were dancing around. She gave a small cheeky wink to Charlie, focusing mainly on the tall shrimp in the crowd as she needed someone to focus on in order to not lose herself to her panic. After a couple of other songs Melody then began nodded to jasmine to change the ambiance a bit to slow down. She had written this song the other day when thinking of a certain someone. She looked over to Charlie once again to focus " I'd rather be tall..I'd rather be smart." she said as she closed her eyes and the jack o lanterns and fake ghosts died down to their proper places. She continued to sing, hoping this song worked for the two of them to help set the proper mood. She poured her heart and soul into this performance, hoping that the people in the room were receptive to it at least. She bowed to the crowd as it was now time for her to bow out and join the people dancing. She waved over to Charlie and walked over and leaped at her " Charlieeeeee I was so nervous" she said almost sobbing a bit but smiling to herself proud that she managed to do it. "Was it good? did I do good? I think at the end I could have hit that note a bit better." as she began to analyze her own performance. First song: second song: [attr="class","addy"] addy

As nice as Angel's words were, Kumoko had a hard time believing her. The winged senpai had a far nicer costume, as did everyone else here. The spider girl felt that her costume seemed plain and vanilla compared to those of everyone else. Speaking of which, Kumoko took a moment to glance at those arriving now. Some faces new, some she was already familiar with. Seeing Rowan wave at her, Kumoko smiled and waved back. But back to Angel, Kumoko simply nodded, deciding it was best to agree to disagree. "Thanks."
The spider girl smiled. "Always happy to help out a friend in need!" She was surprised to hear that Angel wanted to show up with her girlfriend to the dance. A shame the mystery lady wasn't a student. "Aw, well that's a shame. Maybe you two could get together later tonight or tomorrow and have a private dance to make up for it." But best to not press that subject for too long. Kumoko had no wish to pry into her friend's private life. So it was best to just leave it at that. But on to the next subject, Kumoko smiled cheerfully. "Thank you! It really means a lot to me. I still have no idea how someone like me..." Whoops, almost accidentally said 'a nobody like me' there! That was close! "...somehow managed to be considered good enough to become number two. I'll try to work hard to make sure I stay deserving of such an honor." Not that it mattered too much to Kumoko. She would work hard either way, rank or no rank.
But the girls' conversation was cut short. A red panda knight in rather impressive-looking shiny armor. Oh wow, that's a pretty awesome costume! The guy, whose name was apparently Alviss, came over to talk to Angel. Kumoko was amused by the fact that he spoke like a knight as well as looking like one. Pretty committed there. Honestly pretty impressive. Naturally and understandably, the lad's search for a fair maiden would lead him to Angel. Though unfortunately for him, a different maiden had got to the winged girl's heart first. Big oof. The spider-headed girl felt a bit bad for the guy.
It was not all bad news for the knight, however. Angel was still generous enough to give Alviss the dance he asked for, while humoring him with a similar fancy speak. Kumoko resisted the urge to giggle at how silly her senpai was being. Before that, the winged girl was needed on stage, so the dance would have to wait until after she returned. But then Angel said something that made Kumoko thankful that she was not in the middle of drinking something, because then she would have spit out that drink, accidentally spraying it everywhere upon hearing what the winged girl told Alviss.
EEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?!?!?
Wait, what? Beautiful? Loves dashing heroes and princes? Her?! What was Angel doing? Is... is she trying to... wha...? Eh? Am I... being set up with someone? Not that it would be visible due to being covered by her bandages, but Kumoko felt her cheeks start burning a bit. And then, as if the poor spider girl wasn't enough of a stuttering and nervous mess already, Angel decided to not so subtly push Alviss closer to Kumoko. Oh wow! So close. If not for the bandages covering most of her face, it would be very clear to see the girl blushing right now.
"U-ummm... h-hi."
That was really all Kumoko could manage to say right now. She had never been in a situation like this before. She never imagined she would ever be lucky enough to have to think about a moment like this. The girl had a spider for a head! Why would any boy ever want to approach someone like her? She saw herself as ugly. Hideous. A horrible-looking monster! Was this really happening?
Not that Kumoko wasn't interested. She just had no idea how to process any of this.
"Er... m-my n-name is... K-Kumoko." Kumoko tried her best to relax, loosen up, and not worry so much. But it wasn't easy. Perhaps starting some small talk would help. She smiled shyly. "That's an impressive costume you have there, good sir. Very dashing." But before the nervous spider girl could say any more, Angel had already returned, ready to keep her word and grant Alviss his dance. Kumoko just silently let them go and stepped back a bit to give them space, as well as gather her thoughts.
Okay, what was that? I'm gonna need to have a talk with Angel after this dance is done. What is she thinking, trying to set the guy up with someone like me? He can do so much better. Anyone would be so much better than me. At least the music and backlights were helping to distract the poor girl. The song's pretty fitting, at least. And the lights, ooh, that's awesome! How did they do that?! Wow, that's amazing! Massive props!
At least Kumoko was feeling a bit more relaxed now. Her eyes looking around at nothing in particular, Kumoko began thinking random thoughts. I wonder, would I be able to get away with climbing up to the ceiling and dancing upside down? It would be pretty hilarious, but knowing me, I'd probably end up tripping and falling down on someone. That would be a disaster.
For now, Kumoko would just quietly chill by herself. At least until Angel and Alviss returned. I really do need to relax. Nothing's gonna happen, right? He'll probably just chat with me for a few seconds, realize I'm a mess, and then move on to someone else. Oh well. I shouldn't worry too much. This is a dance, after all! I should have some fun! And I will!

trick or treat? THE ATMOSPHERE WAS PRETTY COOL, Charlie supposed, but she was perfectly content to take it all in from the sidelines. She’d never been to a dance—and she wasn’t really one for dances, either. So even with Jasmine’s spectral opening, the prawn remained rooted by the wall. And when the hooded figure crossed onto the stage, the prawn was still at her spot against the wall, her eyes silent.
The robe fell to reveal Melody underneath, all spattered in red and sinister. Charlie couldn’t help but grin beneath her mask. Melody commanded the stage, sending pumpkins and ghosts through the crowd. Lavender eyes turned towards the ceiling, enrapt. Charlie might not have been dancing, but she was attentive.
Then the song wove into something slower, something heartfelt and unfamiliar. And, as Melody’s time on-stage ended, the prawn applauded (they were supposed to applaud, right?), rising from her slouch against the wall. And, when the smaller of the two bounded towards Charlie, the prawn extended her arms outwards as if to say, “Hey, here she is, the woman of the hour!”
“You were better than good!” the prawn proclaimed, “You were awesome!”
Melody seemed almost tearful to the prawn, which confused her to no end—weren’t performances exciting? Wasn’t this something that Melody enjoyed? So why was she almost in-tears?
“And that red paint, wow!” the prawn persisted, “That was such a surprise!”
Her gaze flicked to the costume as she said this, and for a moment, Charlie could hear her heartbeat in her ears. Admiring Melody from afar was easy enough, because the prawn had an escape… pretending to look at the stage, or at the décor, or at the other attendees.
Up close, there wasn’t much of an escape. The prawn’s face felt hot. But… not in an unpleasant way?
“Were those songs originals?”
She knew neither of them, so was, at this point, crediting Melody with all of the songwriting.

The party seemed to be going on without much problem as Alviss asked Angel for the first dance. Seemed he was right to ask her but wrong at the same time. Well she was already dating someone it seemed, not like that bothered him much. All he asked for was a dance anyways. Sure yes he was interested in her as a possible candidate to date but she managed to play the part and it made him smile regardless. His body language suggested that he didn't mind as he took a bow at the pirate girl's reply as if accepting the point she put across. "Ah well this sir knight is lucky to be in the presence of such a fair maiden as yourself, even if she have'th the attention of the other fair maidens in the kingdom. It is an honor to have the first dance with you madame." Alviss just nodded his head as he hoped that was a good character portrayal. He was never sure of it but he did land a dance with a nice girl around his age.
But that was cut short as she had to be on the stage for some reason, which most of the girls were on stage for the dance, other fair maidens indeed but his attention on Angel was diverted to her 'first mate' of sorts. He felt himself being pushed in her direction, the undead variation of a spider girl that caught his attention even if by force he took notice of her costume. It was unique for sure, not many spider girls he knew of back home but then again he got along with a lot of people when he was a kid. He wasn't very negative to anyone as he always would try to see the the good in people.
As he was bumped in Kumoko's direction with a rather forceful push he managed to catch himself before literally falling on the spider girl, who actually looked pretty cute upon closer inspection. Something of which he was afforded the time to get because of that push he was pretty much up close and personal to her. "Uh hello." he broke character for a bit because he was a little shocked at all this. The spider girl was just as flustered that he was there next to her. "Ahem. I mean....Well it is a pleasure to get to know madame Surami's first mate." His in character act didn't last long as he overheard with his enhanced hearing something Angel said on the stage, however it wasn't very clear with all the loud music so he didn't hear the whole thing. However he did hear something about courting Kumoko, which he was surprised to hear but due to the context of this dance he just ignored it and moved on with things. "Oh I am Alviss uh nice to meet you." he broke character completely for that another moment. After all they were really close to each other's proximity how could he just stay in character with that? Answer he couldn't but he would try to at least.
"Oh um yeah.... I mean thou fair maiden speaks the truth, Sir Alviss of the Wulfhart noble family is honored to....oh man this is a little difficult keeping character this long ha ha." he just chuckled as he smiled at Kumoko. She was very beautiful for sure but what made him nervous was not her appearance but the fact they were literally not that far from each-other's faces and being setup by Angel in the middle of a dance party, even if he didn't really know that to be the case. Though his nervousness could probably be misunderstood as something else. "Does your friend Angel always do this? I'm not really the best at talking to pretty girls like yourself." Even though he literally just told Kumoko she was pretty, he was being honest though but their nervousness around each other could likely make that a little more difficult for them both.
As Angel came back to dance with Alviss he felt obligated to dance with her because he did in fact ask her first. Though now he was more curious about Kumoko then he was about Angel. Moreover because Kumoko was single but also very cute as well. But a dance was a dance and he would continue through his word and give Angel a fun experience even if he might mess up a bit. He always had to make sure not to step on his own tail and fall like he did when he was a kid. Then again it's been a while since he danced with anyone let alone a pretty girl such as Angel.
"Yeah you did indeed. Let's make this a fun dance." Alviss just gave up on his character for now. He didn't need to do it all the time. He was not obligated to do it anyways. But he would make sure to take the lead and dance carefully with Angel. He didn't want to mess up as he began to dance with her. His focus on her alone as the music started once again. His thoughts however were being put in the back of his mind so he could concentrate on the dance. Those thoughts were his curiosity about the beautiful spider girl Kumoko, what was she like? What kinds of things she liked? Would she even go out with him? Things like that were put in the back of his mind so he could have fun with this dance, that's all he could do for now.

| A s Jasmine's first song began to play at a fast tempo Angel just once again bowed to Alviss once she reached him and her young Protege. She then lightly took one of his hands in hers and placed the other on her waist on the right side gently so that he knew that he didn't have to stand at arms length as he was probably nervous while he told her they should make the dance fun. Angel just nodded with a smile. "Just consider me practice for your real dance partner."Angel then gave Alviss a wink with her scarred right eye before beginning to slow dance with him, at first taking the lead as she lead him in a small circular waltz giving him a gentle smile as she did so. As they danced Angel made sure to keep an eye on Kumoko to make sure she didn't get a look of jealousy on her face, or get to shy and want to leave. She then turned her attention back toward Alviss and her dance with him so that he didn't feel ignored making sure to keep her voice low so only he could hear. "I heard you call my young protégé cute earlier. You seem to get along well. I've known her for two years, and have been training her to one day take my place as the country's symbol of love when one day a bad guy finally gets lucky, I grow too old to continue, or I wanna start a family and dedicate all of my time to the orphanage and youth center i'm opening. She's an incredibly sweet and talented girl, but also incredibly insecure and shy due to her clumsiness and the way she looks. She think no one would want to love a girl with a giant spider head."Angel then would surprise Alviss by twirling him with a giggle before pulling him back in just close enough that she didn't have to speak very loudly. "Here's a tip from someone who has made spreading love her life's goal. If you are planning on starting a relationship with Kumoko, or any person you need to learn the five types of love language. The first is words of affirmation. That's basically words of encouragement, verbal acknowledgement of affection toward a person be it written or spoken. The second type of love language is quality time. That's basically spending time with your significant other doing an activity they enjoy or that you can enjoy together. The third type of love language is acts of service. What that basically means is doing something special for your significant other like making them breakfast, lunch or dinner, treating them to s movie, shoulder massages or something as simple as doing the dishes for them, or running a hot bath for them. the fourth type of love language is gift giving which is pretty self explanatory yea? Lastly there is physical touch. That can be as simple as hand holding, hugging, kissing and what have you. That's the love language my girlfriend and I practice the most."Once the first song was over Angel gently lead Alviss over to Kumoko and took her hand and placed it in the knight's own with a smile and a playful wink as the next two more romantic songs began. "You two have fun now. I'll be at the refreshment table!"Angel then happily walked over to the refreshments table, and waved at Rowen with a happy grin as she fixed herself some punch and grabbed herself a cookie with a pumpkin face on it. Before she ate or drank anything she looked over at her aquatence and decided she owed her an apology. "You look fantastic tonight Rowen. I'm glad you could make it. Thanks for working the refreshment table. Speaking of I'm sorry I kind of dropped off the map in terms of the cooking club. I kinda got swamped with hero work, and getting my orphanage and youth center up and running. If you ever need me though i'll gladly step up and be there." |
