If there was something in Kirks career as a hero student in U.A that had never really gone to plan, it was internships. Perhaps he put a bit too much enthusiasm in grabbing the crowd at a non-hero school. Perhaps his loudness made him a little bit too weak at tailing villains trying to be sneaky. Perhaps it was the overall bounciness, weight and heft of his body that he was proud of, that pretty much lead into him causing damages wherever he went if he wasn't extremely careful about it.
Out of all of these, the latter was still an issue. Him being loud and excited was just him being himself. It was the part of him that had inspired Emi to try and act similarly. But him being careless and brutal and heavy handed almost instinctively had been poked about and made fun of by so many people that it was starting to become unfunny. And it had been a grating issue since the sports festivals announcer pretty much telling everyone in the stage that 'this fools actions do not represent how a hero would act'. And taking how he wanted himself to look in the public eye, that was not exactly the sort of thing he wanted to become the norm. A hero wouldn't be breaking things accidentally, hurting their bros in the process! A hero arriving was supposed to be a good thing! Something for folks to look at in awe and cheer at! But they couldn't exactly due that under slabs of concrete!
...But in that kind of negative thinking that always gave Kirk a headache, there was that one contradiction that kept bringing itself up: The former top hero for ages had been a big rambunctious lion maned oni, that could pretty much punch through anything and probably benchpress a building if they got desperate. Heck, she had a temper! All these news about her losing her sh-... Okay, grandpa wouldn't like him just casually swearing... her nerve! And she had been pretty headstrong about a lot of her own efforts. Heck, Kirk had been working under her supervision in an internship before, and seen how she worked! Whether it went great or not in her opinion was a bit of a question mark, but Kirk thought it went pretty decently! Well, aside from that whole 'loud skulking' part!
So in the end He decided to take another plunge. Just see how it would go again. And maybe get a bit of pointers on how to do it, without being judged TOO badly for it! Man, was he trying to just make this stuff alright? That's not an attitude for him! Ugh. Whatever the case, with him having already applied, he wasn't going to back out now! He just had to be himself, and show his usual guts! That should work out well enough, since it had worked for everything else!
And with that attitude, Kirk was now sitting at the local mcdonalds. This time, he was there first! He had pretty much woken up at army wake-up call times, and gotten there in time to have a proper breakfast: Bacon burger, fries and a cup of water. He had never been a soda sort of guy. It pretty much helped him get that proper wake-up call going, just before Mia would enter his vision. With that he sprang from his seat, smacked his fingers onto his forehead and gave off a greeting: "Hello Red Horn! I am ready for the day!" That should leave a clear image that he was gonna do better this time! "Even got my meal ready, so you don't have to wait for me this time!" He really didn't want to disappoint. 4th times the charm after all!

If Mia was quite honest she wasn’t quite sure what she made of her intern today. In a lot of cases for her internships the casual, talk it out bit was… a formality. Sure she wouldn’t always get a call on the police channels they could help with and quiet patrols were more common than some might think, but that moment of sitting down with the kids and young heroes, getting to know them, it wasn’t like she needed it. She knew Yuuto was a good kid and that Yasashi was a little nervous, she knew Angel was… angel, and by now she knew Bianca liked to show off in her own way but… for Kirk…
She’d never quite put her finger on that one.
It wasn’t like it was a bad thing. She knew she liked the kid! He was loud, energyetic but… she’d never quite captured his ‘element’. It was a weird thing in her head and she wasn’t educated enough to find the words for it but… she’d never been sure she’d seen the real Kirk. It was maybe just hard for her to trust people who seemed like positive bundles of energy all the time, and while she wasn’t sure if she was any better from the outside, but she had the benefit of knowing how she ticked. Kirk… she’d never quite been too sure, but hey! This was a chance to change that! Get to know the kid! It should be a good time.
She was just picking a bit of her breakfast out of her trusks with her pinky-nail when she caught the boisterous sport hero already sitting at their meeting spot, smirking at him as he called over to her and giving off a light chuckle. “’Aight kid. Just save the table I’ll be back in a sec okay?~” She gave him a passing wave as she walked into the store herself, shifting through the crowd. It wasn’t too bad, she’d been assigned to quieter parts of the city lately which meant even the fast food places were less busy, coming back out with her food before long… a grand order but she was a growing girl. In her own way.
“How was the trip out? Take the train or-?” She’d ask, mostly to lead into- “In general I do kinda gotta ask. Mobility wise what you got? I mean I understand not every hero can fly, I just sorta need to know what pace we’re gonna be working at today. Ya know, leaping building to building or walking along the street?” The question was surprisingly straight forward from Mia, she’d had to ask it a fair few times and it was becoming very ‘just business’ in vibe, but it was an important question all the same. No use leaping to a building when they got moving if he couldn’t keep up.
As they spoke, Mia would idly deconstruct the several meals worth of food she’d grabbed. Eventually, with a pile of buns put to the side, a few orders of fires put in a pile, and 2 chicken dippers with them, she had made her masterpiece.
Bun Beef quarter pounder Chicken burger 2 beef QPs 2 chicken dippers beef QP Bun
And a few layers of cheese and various sauces, such as mayo, BBQ and tomato mixed in there from where she hadn’t scraped them off the original burger. An application of her strength and she managed to squish it down to a size she could fit her jaw around, taking a hearty bite before continuing.
“In fact… before we get tooooo buddy buddy-“ She was clearly a little playful in her tone there. “Why don’t you sell yourself too me? I mean you’re not usually in my classes so I’m just lookin’ to see what I’m working with? I know your quirk but… gear, talents, strength, heck gimme that hero name of yours again.~ I love seein’ that energy you exude.~”

Kirk had clearly caught Red Horns attention! For a moment, his body relaxed... for like a second. He had forgotten, that of course Mia would be buying something too! "O-OH! Yeah! I'll uh...! Be waiting here!" He said with an awkward smile plastered across his face like he had been slapped. He was mildly embarrassed and clearly nervous. Last time they came here it literally started with a meal too, but she had been already eating! Ugh, maybe being here this early was a bad idea. This time he actually clapped the sides of his head! "Come on, dude! Concentrate! She is loud like you, and she probably doesn't care how loud you are about it!" Besides, a hero wouldn't run away from an official meeting with a Humongous, gigantic pile of...!
"FOOD!" ...He meant to think 'muscle' or 'heroism', But his mind was completely taken off from it by the mountain of stuff Mia came with. His nervous mind completely dropped the worry for a moment, as he couldn't help but feel a little bit envious looking at it with his own meal in front of him. Honestly, he could probably down at least somewhat similar amount of food, but compared to a big hero, his budget just couldn't handle meals like that so often. He had to grab a couple of fries out of his own meal, and shove them in his gullet to stop staring. "That's a WORKOUT meal alright! Jeez, hehe!"
When asked about the trip, Kirk shrugged, as he reached out for his burger. "I jogged most of the way! Cheated a bit with a bus, but you know, easiest warm-up in the morning! Ain't nothing easier!" Honestly, he felt like standing up and proving it! But running in place while holding a burger in your hand would have been awkward looking, so naturally, he took a bite, and whilst chewing, hopped up and did a bit of jogging in place. Although her follow-up question almost sounded more like something from a sign-up paper. "O-Oh, uh! GLAD YOU ASKED!" Luckily, if there was anything he could do a surprise test on, it was physical activity! "I basically spend most of my maneuvering running around, and using that momentum to either launch myself, or overall just JUMP GOOD!" He opened his pouch a bit, and squatted, as he did a tiny hop, with arm shooting up towards the sky! "If I can't reach something by jumping, I would say I am a decent climber!" ...Minor property damage aside. "So ain't no worries about me not being able to keep up!" He shook his hands in front of him to emphasize. He did NOT want to seem weak!
Although it was pretty hard, looking at her just squeezing this burger to perfect mouthsize to take a bite out of it! In almost a challenge, Kirk took his burger again, and this time almost tried to bite half of it at once! After a brief chewing, the poor guy couldn't help but feel like he was wasting the burgers glorious flavour a little, as he closed his eyes for a moment to atleast get some of it, whilst listening to Mia asking more things...
Sell himself?! Kirk gulped... and with food full, mouth, it was probably a pretty awkward looking gulp, as he took a sip of water to wash it down properly. "OKAY! Since a former top hero is asking, there ain't no way I can refuse!" He hopped back, and took a couple of breaths to recover. "Here we go!" He twisted his upper body, and flexed, as he first said "Here comes the SUUUUUPERRRRRRRRRR...!" And then proceeded to hop, slamming one of his foot down against the ground with the other laying there, and pumping his arms down like pistons!
"SLUGGEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
With the vibrations of the r:s rippling across his tongue, and the recovery period of huffing and puffing following, he couldn't say much else, but that went WELL! And it felt REALLY good! So good in fact he momentarily just pumped his elbows down in front of him, with a quieter "Yeah!" However, then he realized, he was still being sort of tested!
"Uh... WHAT else do you need really?! That says it all! I am the big sports guy of U.A! Decently quick, Extremely acrobatic, I have amazing teamwork skills, and I have both hell of a punch and pitching aim! I bet you ten basketballs, that when I throw something its gonna feel like a CANNONBALL!" He slung his index finger down towards the ground in excitement to emphasize! "Heck, I can use any sports item as pretty much a homerun weapon, and a lot of my techniques are based on sports maneuvers! You don't know how many times just having a baseball glove helps catching even more dangerous projectiles!" He lifted his hand, and spread out his fingers. "Heck, I've got like, 100 different ways to pitch a ball! So usually I can come up with atleast one situation where chucking it can come in handy!"
Maybe he was overcompensating a little... anyway, his finger soon snapped to his forehead again. "And that's me in a pretty well compiled nutshell! ...Atleast I uh, HOPE it is a well compiled nutshell..." He rubbed the bridge of his nose, as he kept on huffing. He had gone for miles there for such simple things.

Mia smirked a little at his brief hesitation and stutter before dipping into the resteraunt, and then came out with a helluva laugh in her throat as she carried her tray of food back to him and watched his jaw seem to drop to the floor. Her appetite borderline seemed to scare even some kids at UA, and for it to scare even a chunk of muscle like Kirk? Well she was oddly proud of herself to say the least.~ Probably not something she SHOULD be proud of, eating enough to feed a fucking horse, but that didn’t stop her by any means. “Well with a quirk like mine I practically ‘workout’ just by getting pissed off… which in my line of work can be pretty easy to do.” She teased playfully, hoping that would be taken as the upbeat little joke it was meant to be.
Mia nodded along as he talked about his morning exercise. People could assume all they wanted that a titan of a woman like her didn’t need to train because of her quirk but she was very much of a similar mind. “Ya know I love this time of year for jogs if I’m honest. I see everyone getting out when it’s hot out and there’s son but I think that’s the wrong state of mind. I try and get my best cardio in during the cold months. Ya got motivation to keep yerself warm then ya know?~” She chuckled a little, not sure if anyone could relate to the training habits of a quirked up beast like her, but it was a nice way to make conversation with the kid at least.
“Jump good though huh? How good we talking? Like I said I need an idea of how we’re gonna be moving through the city together. I mean I can give you a piggyback across the city if you want but I doubt that’s the most dignified method of travel.~” She teased with an idle smirk. “Hey though it sounds like you got things handled if we do need to do anything though, we’ll see if you can keep up with a rooftop run in a bit and I’ll pull back on my patrol speed if need be.”
While Kirk tried her method of burger squishing, to her it had the opposite effect it was having on him. To her, it milked the flavour out of the meat, the sauce was forced to spread more evenly over the cheese, and the ingrediants like onions and pickles that she’d peeled off had their flavours obliterated comparatively in the process. To her it was even more juicy, forcing all the goodness trapped inside to ooze along the edges where her tongue could actually find it… mmm…~
She’d lean back comfortably as she chewed her food, wondering how the Super Slugger of all people was gonna go about this, buuuut she may have lost the intent there in communication, smirking a little but not about to stop him by any means, trying not to snicker so he went through with the whole thing, just enjoying it and almost wishing she had the audacity to get her phone out for this. She coulda done without people constantly calling her the ‘former top hero’ like a twist of the knife but… eh, she wasn’t gonna make a huge deal of that.
Mia listened to the pitch… heh, pitch, fun. Anyway, she raised her hands as he calmed down. “Right, right, a good sell but not specifically what I meant, though I’ll take one on the chin there and admit it was probably my fault. I was more looking for… what you can do in the field. I mean I get the idea of your quirk, weirdly muscular backpack skin, you theme yourself around sports gear but… if I asked you to rescue a civilian from the rubble of a building, do you have any unique talents for that? Have you dealt with fire quirkers and done really well or is there something that, in a hero situation, you feel makes you unique. Your my apprentice today, practically a full blown hero so… tell me how to focus your efforts.”
She realized she may have not been clear still and rested a hand on her chest. “Here, lemme give it a go. Mia Kearney, RedHorn, muscle monster extraordinaire. My brute strength is good for beating down criminals, breaking through barricades, and I’ve known cases were my intimidating presence can diffuse and heighten situations, so I’ve been learning to choose my battles better. In rescue situations I’m good at moving immense amounts of rubble or supporting structures in emergency situations, and my tough skin and high toxin resistance means I have a good ability to work in toxic environments, like fires or gas leaks.” She gestured back to him. “Now you. You’re a hero, I have to use you today, how do I do that effectively with your skill set?~” She was a little calmer than a fight class but with a chipper energy still to her tone, hoping to keep the mood light even as they got down to brass tax… or whatever the saying was.

Kirk smiled and chuckled at Mias comment. "Even more of a reason to have a lot on your plate, you know! Gotta have that stuff to work on to workout proper!" Hearing her talk about working out with jogging and other things had Kirk go back a little bit on his panic. Their meeting back at the gym in his first year of school had been pretty similar in some ways. "Pretty much! Ain't nothing warmer than keeping yourself on the move!" He scratched his head. "Although when the ground freezes sports you can do get kinda limited... I like summer a bit more in that regard, even if refuelings needed like, 10 times more often." It sort of reminded him of talking with some fellow sports club members... either that or his coach back in America!
However, there was still that slight discerning eye on his things. She wanted specifics! "Well, you know, I don't typically measure buildings when I jump up them...!" A bit of a nervous joke, although he did have most of his bigger records memorized. Had to have something to brag with to the bros after all! That or something to show off with a challenge! "But back at the school, if I really put my back into it, I can jump at most 30 meters of the ground atleast, at about 40 miles an hour, hehe! In all directions too! I don't believe I'll have any problems keeping up with ya somehow!" ...the idea of being carried around by someone else, with him being semi used to being the 'donkey' for such things, somehow felt absolutely embarrassing. So avoiding that at all costs was a priority.
However, after his showing, look at Mia... he wasn't sure if she was impressed, disappointed or indifferent to it. You could almost see the small sweat drop of awkward on his forehead, as Mia went onto explain, that he had perhaps misunderstood what she had said. "O-Oh... So more like uh, what can I do list, instead of uh... explanation of My abilities..." He mumbled a little, as his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. The whole part about it being Mias fault pretty much got skipped. He clapped his cheeks again. "Fricking... get in the game!" However, when Mia started to give off an example, Kirk outright lifted both of his hands up and shook them from side to side frantically, interrupting her completely. "NO, no, I... I appreciate it! I really do! But, there is no need to go so ground level with me! Just misunderstood it, like you said! I'll try again!"
Perhaps that repeated poking by his teachers or other people had had some sort of effect. He had always been the sort of guy who liked to try things himself head on first. Usually if that effort failed, he was really open to a more step by step teaching. However, with constant poking in the middle of not learning based situations, Kirk had lately felt more frustrated than anything about being babied. Heck, with him trying to be a bit more careful, it almost felt like he had regressed a little bit. Not that he wanted to admit it.
He took a brief sip of water, before he took a breath. "Okay, let's try this." He proceeded to place his hand over his chest, ironically just like how she had started her own explanation. "Kirk Bluster, Super Slugger, Mega fan of sports! My overall varied abilities in both head to head combat and ranged combat make me very effective at every position on the battlefield! Rescuevise my pouch is pretty much made for carrying people to safety or launching rubble away! My maneuverability also allows to get into many places that other people might not be able to reach, and the multitude of tools on hand allow me to pretty much adapt to any situation, aside from those of the medical kind! I don't have any immunities, but I do have a very thick skin, which makes me very good at diving into things. On top of that, my voice is insanely loud, and allows me to contact pretty much anyone without need for phones or radios! I can even intimidate folks just by shouting if need be! I am pretty much the loudest jack of all trades for any position!"
His posture however lowered a little. "Although, I will warn, that many people have been whining about me getting myself into trouble or causing a lot of collateral damage for being rash. BUT I AM TRYING TO FIX THAT, MA'AM!" With his second try done, he clapped the heels of his shoes together. Hopefully this time it went a bit better.

Mia never really had anyone to talk this kind of stuff with if she was honest. As a kid she'd outpace her older sister easily in any exercise activity, and while the two of them got along and her sister was somewhat quirked herself, the huge separation in leagues always left this awkward sense that they were never really talking about the same issues. She didn't know what Kirk was like, she bet she could outpace him on some levels, but he was a jacked guy to be sure, he definitely put the effort in so... it felt a little more genuine than it had gotten with her sister.
"I dunno. I mean I've never had an issue working up a sweat, like it never gets too uncomfortable but... I dunno. People like their tans and shit but the sunny months never get much benefit for me... ya know, beyond the visual appeal.~" She gave a cheeky smile, wondering if Kirk would catch on to the slightly raunchy humor, and in turn seeing how he reacted to know if that was something she should hold back on with him or not.
She was glad to hear he should be able to keep up, she actually was kind of surprised. From what she'd understood Kirk's... quirk. Wow she could get tongue tied saying that too fast. Anyway, she thought his quirk didn't enhance his strength to allow for such height but hey, she wasn't gonna complain if it meant he could keep up. "Lower rooftops should be doable, I was planning to stick to some of the smaller districts anyway so it should all be good. Though if I'm ever losin' ya or your having trouble, don't worry about mentioning it to me. It's my job to mentor you today, not your job to break your legs trying to keep up.~"
With most of her burger gone she leaned back in her seat, feeling a little bad for bringing out some embaressment in the kid, but she left him to his devices for a moment to see how he personally bounced back on that front, glad to see he wasn't the kind who might need some encouragement over such a simple slip. Seemed he wasn't the kind to get himself down too easily, and with his list of skills, it looked like he had talents for civilian rescue and felt confident in his skills anywehre on a battlefield. She rubbed her chin a little, thinking. They couldn't exactly aim for, or hope for crimes to occur... but she'd definitely be interested in seeing him in a fight...
Her brow rose and she chuckled as he mentioned his issues with collateral. "Kid! You really think I of all people am gonna be telling you off for that today?" She chuckled a little more. "Ah look, collateral's never good but seriously if anyone can give ya a lecture on it it's definitely not gonna be me, I just don't got the right to do that to ya." She took a calming breath and started to down her drinks. "Alright, finish up what ya got and we'll get moving. We might just be out for a quiet patrol, but now I know how i can best utilize yer skills if things come to it."

For a moment, with Mia bringing up other minor advantages of summery workout, Kirk couldn't help but smile excitedly! "Yeah, nah! Sweating ain't a problem! Its a cooling system for your body after all!" That and when tan was brought up... "Tanning up is pretty healthy though! As long as you remember put some lotion so you don't burn up. After all, in the end, all that working out is for two proper goals!" He lifted his fingers in a peace position. "First of all, with a trained body, you can do a WHOLE lot more fun things with it! You are pretty much always moving forward!" He lowered one of the fingers and once he started talking proceeded to flex again. "And secondly... Well, let's just say ain't nothing more gorgeous and uplifting, than seeing a tanned body glittering with sweat, ripped to high heaven with muscles in front of ya afterwards!"
He blinked, as she looked at Mia. And then a big ol blush rose on his face. "I mean, in a mirror! You know, Seeing results first hand!" He stopped flexing, and sat back down finally, rubbing his head. "You know uh, Knowing that you can do all sorts of things and uh... LOOK great afterwards is very big motivator!" He scratched the bridge of his nose, as he took some fries and shoved them into his mouth, trying to drown the embarrassment in salt. "But I mean, who am I to talk, when it's pretty obvious that we BOTH workout, you know, ehehehe, hehe... he." Fricking, he had went off the handle again, huh?
Her worries about her keeping up though just made him shake his head. "Come on, I'm a third year! If I can't keep up somehow, that would be an embarrassment to the whole school!" Surprisingly, this time it was clear it was somewhat of a joke. Albeit a bit demeaning one. "But seriously, I am gonna be able to handle myself. Your job is to tell me what to do, and what not, and I'll do it to my best of quality!" He lifted his fist up all determined. "Besides, ripping muscle is how you make it grow! Although recovery period is needed afterwards, hehe!"
However, when he had mentioned the collateral, she pretty much laughed at him, telling him that she was probably not the best example to follow. Kirks gaze lowered a bit. "I mean, that's kind of why I wanted to come to learn from you again. Mostly cause I dunno if there is some trick you have to it! You know... maybe folks like you more cause you know the perfect position to charge to not make the building fall over and what not! Or maybe it's something super scientific that I don't have any idea about!" He lifted his head as he ate the last of his fries. "Maybe I can see that when I am bit closer to the action, you know?!" There was a bit frustrated tone to his voice. He was working on fixing something, he didn't wanna be laughed at for trying.
However, when she told her to finish up, Kirk shrugged, as he chugged the rest of his water. "Good thing about a smaller meal, is that it gets ya going quicker, hehe!" He hopped up, jogging in place. "Well, on your mark, I'm set!"

Despite Kirk's apparent attempts to try and cover his own ass, a slow grin had formed on Mia's face, and when he finally tried to backpedal on his words Mia burst out into laughter, hoping the kid didn't take too much offense and would be willing to laugh at his own slip up with her, a light slap of the table between them as he caught up with himself and what it had sounded like coming out of his mouth. "So you like a good tan huh?~ I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever find a sporty girl looking for a date.~ No tan? Don't tell 'em about Kirk!~" She was clearly just messing about as she continued to chuckle through her teeth, but she wasn't about to go overboard and make him feel too bad about the slip, reaching over and giving him a light pat on the shoulder.
"Don't worry though kid I get what ya mean. I mean, my quirk can let me alter how muscular I am if I focus on the emotions that affect my quirk but... nothing beats just seeing the hard work I put in. That level of tight toning that can only come from putting even myself through a hard workout. I ain't so much a fan of a tan but hey, to each their own right? Personally if I want some dark skin on me, I'd prefer it comes with a seperate woman altogether.~" She had another little chuckle, a little more aimed at herself this time as she tried to continue the teasing in a more personally aimed way, not wanting Kirk to feel too uncomfortable... though he did seem more than willing to make jokes and jabs along those lines as far as she was able to tell.
With Kirk giving some of his reasons for why he wanted to work with her, she was a little surprised but... pleasantly so. He'd actually thought out why he wanted to use her as an example and while she did get a little worried she might set a bad example on such matters, it was still good to hear he'd thought things through. "Well, I dunno how grand an example I can be fore ya but... I'll do my best. I've learned a few tricks on how to control myself and, as bad as it can sound, when some collateral damage can be for the better. You never wanna just bring a building down on someone's head if you can help it but... realizing when letting the criminal go could be the greater risk? Do more damage than what a few builders can fix? Part of the job I suppose."
With Kirk up and ready to go, Mia took all the rubbish they'd made, scrunched it down hard into a mess of paper and cardboard trash, and tossed it towards one of the trashcans, tightly compacted enough that it managed to stick together till it hit the bottom of the trashcan, grinning at herself and pointing a thumb over her shoulder.
"Come on then kid, patrol's waitin'!"
They weren't about to find action the moment they got going, so Mia decided to pick up the pace slowly. With the streets a little empty she kept a moderate pace, speeding up till it seemed like Kirk was holding some effort to keep pace with her. After that she'd be waiting for a rooftop that was a bit lower than the others, and with little warning, leap off the pavement to the rooftop itself. She'd hesitate for a second when she landed, waiting to see if he could indeed make the leap and follow behind, shooting him a proud smile when he seemed capable of keeping pace, continuing their patrol along the rooftops.
"So... while we got time to chat-!" She began, speaking between breaths or leaps across the rooftops, her eyes constantly darting to the streets below to keep an eye on things. "I am sorta curious... I don't see you boys at UA dating so much..." Maybe it was just a bias cause she hung out with the female students more but, hey, the topic had kinda come up before, so she was curious. "UA girls just not your type?~ Too much muscle?~"

As Mia started chuckling, Kirk was turning red as a beet. Although, he couldn't help but laugh himself a little. "W-well, what can I say: I like folks that like similar things as me, you know!" There was a bit awkward tone in his voice though, but there was some hilarity in it atleast. Man, a high ranking hero offering to recommend you a date. That's a scenario a lot of people couldn't say they've been in. However, once he grabbed his shoulder and pretty much said, she liked a similar workout routine, and talking about the tightness of her muscles... Kirk couldn't get much redder as he shook his head violently, and clapped the sides of it again. "I mean, you wouldn't have become a top hero, if you didn't look great yourself!" He elbowed her gently in the gut, to get her away from him. He didn't wanna make this a fanboy hour of the biggest muscled hero in the country! He was here to be serious!
in that regard, hearing her opinion of 'sometimes, collateral is better cost than saving on the work of builders' was an interesting one. She was saying, that sometimes you should break things on purpose, if it made sure the villain would be caught? "But uh... what if there's like civilians in there? What do you in that situation?" Besides, it was still kind of hard for Kirk to picture breaking things on purpose as a good thing. "Like, what if a guy has a person at gunpoint, and you are there to handle it? What would ya do?"
However at this point, following Mias example to perfection, as he crumpled his food trash and dunked it into the bin, he shouted "YES MA'AM!" As he followed her in sprint. It kind of felt like reinitializing that warm-up from before. Problem of sitting down to eat: even with tensions in your head, your muscles would relax a bit. For now, the run was pretty much a comfortable workout! Heck, even when she suddenly proceeded to jump up high on top of a building, Kirk was soon following. Although it took him a bit to stop, fall on his back, and then send himself flying towards the roof. However, he needed to grab it from the side with his fingers, and throw himself up, but he was immediately ready to continue. "That's what I mean by being a bit rough in momentum! You know, hard to really control the force at which you slam at things!"
After that though there was just comfortable hoppings between buildings, which allowed them more time to chat. However, the topic was a bit awkward one: Dating habits of U.A students. He scratched his cheek a bit awkwardly as his eyes opened up a bit more. Certainly not a question he was expecting from her. However, he almost felt a bit hilarified at the last question, although the blush was still evident. "L-look, if there is one person in the whole wide world who LOVES muscles on girls, it's me! Don't you start getting that wrong!" His hand went onto his chin in a thoughtful motion, as he jumped over the gap between buildings like an overly buff ballerina. "In the case of the lack of boys dating, from what I've seen, Hero girls just tend to be the type to go for other girls, so I guess muscly girls are more popular among them!" With the laugh afterwards, it was pretty clear that was more of a joke with a bit of facts in. What, he had seen like, five girl on girl relationships, and only couple of straight ones?
However, speaking of himself, his running pace slowed down a bit visibly. "In my case, well... uh..." He shrugged. "I guess it just ain't a priority, you know. Don't need one, and folks ain't exactly requesting." It may have come off as a bit dismissive, but there was a good explanation for it: Out of his previous likes for girls, one had been a very selfish effort, and the other had pretty much made him feel horrid before it had even started. It honestly just felt like to him, that it was better to leave it up to others to choose if they liked him, instead of him making moves of his own. No awkwardness because of either problem in that way. Of course it was not something he would say out loud, it was kind of embarrassing.
Besides... "And come on! Who needs a girlfriend, when you've got bunch of BROfriends, am I right?!" In the end, his friends gave him all the satisfaction he needed.
However, it was his turn to ask question, and he accelerated his running speed again. "But uh... How did you end up being a hero here anyway?! I know that the situation back in America is a bit of a weird one, but taking that I came here just cause somebody else suggested it, I am a bit curious!" Admittedly, it was quite clear he was just trying to change the topic into something else, but still, it was something he wanted to know.

With Kirk’s question about collateral Mia paused before realizing she may have over-simplified the issue a bit. “Ah, right, sorry kid I guess I tried to turn that into too much of a soundbyte or whatever. Er…” She needed to address this before getting up to go, it was important afterall and he was asking some fair questions. “Its… part of your training is that you gotta learn how to make those snap judgements. Lets say for your first question I got a tough criminal ahead of me. I know with a full power punch I can knock him out but I’ll also probably put a hole in the store behind him. If someone’s in the store? Hell no, not gonna do it, can’t put them at risk but… if the stores empty? If I make that punch, what I’m destroying is things that government insurance plans for this kinda stuff can replace. If I don’t take the punch? And he’s got a life in his hands or something? That’s something no amount of money can replace. Snap decisions like that is what I more mean. Property damage vs a life. Easy enough thing to me.” She thought for a second. “Specifically for the second example… if someone’s at gunpoint, and I’m unsure if the building behind them has anyone in it? I think I’d take the punch. I can rescue anyone in the building, its not a certainty they’d die or anything, it’s a certainty the person at gunpoint might thought. ‘Course it’s all situational, preferably I’d try to difuse the sitatuation, get the gun pointed at me or something ya know? There’s a er…” She rubbed the back of her neck, ‘lectures’ like this weren’t her forte. “It’s all situational I guess, sorry it’s not got an easy answer.”
Really that was it, being a hero was complex and nothing had an easy answer, in her eyes part of the equation was ‘a life is more important than property’, but… that was just one key element of a tonne of equations going through her head at any time, and it all came with experience… she didn’t wanna leave him down on the matter though, reaching over and squeezing his shoulder. “Don’t worry kid, hopefully we don’t see anything too bad today but… it all comes with experience. As much as they can teach you in the classroom, experience in stuff like this still means a heck of a lot more, and we’re gonna make sure you get some today yeah? Don’t worry, I’ll be lookin’ out for you all the while.”
She hoped that was reassuring… she knew she could be kinda terrible at this, ehehe…
Still. Off to work, hopefully her terrible words didn’t sour the whole mood.
As they got moving Mia couldn’t help but chuckle a bit when she saw how Kirk had to launch himself up to the rooftops, So it was that weird backpack thing of his huh? Well that was some way to get yourself some airtime she supposed! He mentioned how the issues with his momentum and she could understand. “Well… I dunno if it’d help much but have you ever considered mastering the front flip onto your back? I mean stopping to fall backwards is bound to slow you down but maybe a front flip onto your back might help?” It was his quirk, he probably knew better than her but she gave a casual shrug at the offered idea. “Just a thought.~”
When Kirk responded to her teasing about his relationship status in the school, she gave a bit of a smirk at his comment about muscles on women. Hard to tell if that was his type or if he was just playing along but all the same she gave a retort of her own. “Oh, best make sure I don’t flex in your direction then. Wouldn’t want you missing a step all distracted and falling down on a jump.~” She stuck her tongue out briefly between her tusks to hopefully make it clear she was just yanking his chain on the matter. As much as Mia’s ego could sometimes say otherwise she knew she was far beyond what even people who liked powerful woman could find attractive in a lot of scenarios. Didn’t mean she couldn’t tease Kirk about it though.~
“Fair enough on waiting for people to come to you though-!” She let out a light grunt as she vaulted over a ceiling vent of one of the buildings, hurling over it and quickly bounding into the next leap between the rooftops even as they tried to hold a conversation. “I mean I ain’t the relationship type myself. Tend to just go out, grab a girl for a good time… figure if there’s ever a woman who’ll make me wanna settle down, they’ll find me, so I can respect the approach don’t get me wrong there.~” She flashed him a smile, hoping she was keeping things upbeat and wasn’t making him feel awkward with the line of questioning, a chuckle escaping her as he managed to meet her questions with a far more ‘wholesome’ line of his own. She did notice the brief slowdown but… eh, she wouldn’t harp on ‘em for that.
“Ahhh that old chestnut… well let me ask myself. Are you asking why I ended up being a Vigilante, or why I ended up being a hero? Cause they’re two different answers there kid and I’m curious which one has your attention.~” She didn’t mean to delay his curiosity or anything, but both were very different stories in Mia’s eyes. The reason she got into beating the bad guys was far different from why she ended up considering herself a ‘real hero’ afterall, but, sometimes, people could be more interested in the former.

Kirk listened intently. This was what he had primarily come for, so taking care of it as the first thing in some way was kind of lucky. Although, the way mia explained it, it was all about reacting quickly, and going with what your gut told you. And in the end, it seemed like she wouldn't do her usual spiel if she knew somebody was in danger. But still, there was doubt in her clearly. Kirk could recognize some ways he acted whenever he himself got nervous or awkward... there was always that sudden need to somehow touch your own head or the area surrounding it when that happened. In the end, he wasn't sure if there was something of a small relief about the fact, that even a professional had this sort of issue in their mind, or if he should be worried, that he would feel awkward about it for the rest of time. With Mia finishing her own lecture up, Kirk just nodded. "You got a point there atleast! Gotta try things the first time before you can better yourself when the next time comes I guess." There was a reason why a batter had three swings instead of just one when they got to bat.
Her advice on the use of the pouch though was a little bit more helpful... "Eh, simple enough yeah! And I can do that! But, the only problem is that the initial fall backwards allows me to properly aim I guess!" He shrugged. It was a very minor thing, and it was not like that initial stop was an issue in his eyes. "Although I do admit it IS better for LONG leaps! Not heightvise, but does serve a good thing length and speedvise!" His head lowered a little bit towards his shoulder. "The problems more that uh... 'sticking the landing' is often really rough. You know, nothing more awkward than leaving a massive crater after a particularly big jump." Yeah, it was the whole 'property damage against actual human lives', but still.
Kirk chuckled a bit awkwardly at yet another teasing poke from Mia. Was he already coming off as a huge fanboy to get so much of it? Come to think of it, this happened quite often when she was internshipping with lady heroes. He couldn't really help the fact that good figure and form was something that stood out for him! "L-look, I can keep a game face on when it matters! I ain't gonna be buying hot dogs, when I am supposed to be doing a homerun!" Taking how he didn't exactly want to embarrass himself further, and wanted to seem reliable, this certainly didn't help the matters.
In the end, the relationship talk went for a little longer, as he kind of shrugged at it. "I mean, why even have a girlfriend, if you won't be doing things with em, you know? If I would grab a girl like that, It would be for a game of soccer or something! Something sporty and fun you know! I wouldn't like if I met a pal for just one day and then never met em again!" It was a childish way to look at it maybe, but that's what Kirk wanted really from a relationship: Someone who enjoyed similar things to him, and would do those things with him. Honestly, all this talk about romance and flings and things was making him quite moody.
So naturally, the guy actually lighted up a lot, when his question was answered by another question! Basically 'which would you like to know more about' thing. For a moment he thought about it, and like a lightbulb having appeared over his head that exploded into pieces, he hit an epiphany! "OH YEAH! You didn't actually go through hero school to get your hero stuff!" Honestly, that just made him even more so curious! "Well, uh...! I guess I could turn that first one into something! Gimme a minute...!" A quick moment of thought later, and he had it! "What made you take such a risk, that you became a vigilante, when heroes weren't even properly legal yet?!" Taking how Kirk had always been very careful about trying to follow the rules, he couldn't have imagined doing something like that!

Mia may not have been the best with Lectures and hard lessons but at the very least Kirk seemed to help with his energy to brush past it. It was one of those things, as someone who never learned this stuff in a classroom, she’d just learned from experience and trial and error so to speak but… she understood. Trial and error wasn’t really acceptable with lives on the line and it’d be great to have a solid answer on these matters… she just didn’t have one, but at least Kirk seemed to understand.
On the better end of things, while he had counter arguments to be made about the use of the pouch Mia at least seemed to have earned some points with an at least okay suggestion on the use of his quirk. Seemed it was a better idea for getting distance rather than height or accuracy, but hey at least it had some use. “Hehehehe, honestly I’m just surprised you can get ANY distance with that thing. Guess it’s a lot stronger than I ever expected!~” She teased with a grin, though by no means wanting to demean it’s clear benefits to the quirked kid beside her. “I get that on the landing though… ya know a hero has to pay out a portion of the collateral they cause? Not the whole thing but… fuck you start to make softer landings the moment you realize how much re-paving a sidewalk eats into your paycheque! Hahahah!~” She was trying to joke it off, but damn, it was no wonder she wasn’t one of the richer heroes around when that part of the job’s rules existed. Not that she was gonna complain about it, was only fair afterall! “It’s another thing that comes with experience!~ That and a huge desire to avoid financial troubles.”
She did feel a bit bad for teasing him, but just in that ‘bro’ way, you didn’t want to mess with your mates too much… but it didn’t make it any less funny. She did get a good chuckle about him focusing on ‘homeruns’ rather than ‘burning his sausage’. She wondered if he realized how lewd that might come off given the topic but she wasn’t about to comment any further, her burst of a chuckle and cheeky toned sigh spoke for itself on the matter.
Still, he had a fair point, and while Mia was very much a ‘brief yet passionate’ kind of gal with her connections with people, she couldn’t fault someone who was looking for something more. “Ah don’t worry about it kid. Soon enough you’ll be out of there and you’ll have your pick of the litter. Just keep a good head on your shoulders… wouldn’t wanna see a bright, loud spirit like yours turn sour.” It was a bit of a lower energy comment but… it was true, he was a good kid and if he was looking for something longer good on him, she just wouldn’t want to see the ‘holding out’ method sour him in any way.
She hopped closer to him on a leap, and gave him a firm pat on the back as they ran across the next rooftop so she wouldn’t knock him off course mid jump, just flashing him a bright smile and hoping she herself hadn’t soured his mood all that much.
With the focus back on her, seemed Kirk was curious how she chose to become a vigilante. She honestly was a little nervous for a moment. She’d never hidden the store, never tried to hide it behind fancy reasoning or a white lie for a more ‘heroic tale’… but she was working with the people a year away from being her colleagues now and. Well. She didn’t have the greatest number of friends among the current heroes, there was an odd sense of nerves about presenting this to Kirk, hoping she didn’t sour him on… well, her, this time. Still… it was who she was, and she was never gonna be eager to lie about that part of her, cause it wasn’t just her past, it was still who she was.
“I wanted to fight.” She answered bluntly as their patrol continued. “I was a big girl and… that’s what I was passionate about. Fighting. I couldn’t be a wrestler, a boxer, anything like that due to my quirk and… I’ll admit it. I liked the glory that came with it too. Proving I was THE BEST to a crowd of civilians who admired me for what I did… I won’t lie to ya kid that’s why I became a vigilante. I wanted a challenge, to beat people in a fight who could stand toe to toe to me, seeking out big foes and… I wanted to do it the closest way to right I could. So I targeted criminals, I kept people’s stores safe from crooks and protected people’s lives by taking a car about to run’em over to my shoulder. I took the risk… for the thrill of it.”
She took a slow breath and smiled warmly, no regret about telling Kirk that. “But, that’s why I have a story of how I became a vigilante… and why I have one of why I became a hero. There’s a difference. Sure, I still do it for the thrill it gives me, the freedom, a lil’ bit for the glory… but if that’s the only reason I was doing it all? I’d have stayed in Texas, I’d still be a vigilante. Being a hero is a whole lot different. More pressure, more responsibility, more rules… but getting the RIGHT to save lives? To protect people? Fuck… I wouldn’t go back…”
There was a sense of pride Mia had in the difference… sure, as a vigilante she could still fight, still save people… but being a hero had started to mean something a little more to her. Even when she could push or bend the rules to save someone, she was still gonna be on the right side of things at the end of the day. The training, the accountability… any mistakes she made she was damn ready to own in the pursuit of protecting people. As much praise as she could give a vigilante, at times that was the difference. The lack of accountability.
A smile still on her face, she gave Kirk’s arm a nudge. “Okay your turn. I don’t want your ’I’m gonna be a hero moment’. I wanna hear what made you join UA. You were gonna be one of the first to take the plunge, you may have put a bit of a target on your back and… let’s be honest. Yer quirk doesn’t scream ‘hero’ as much as you fucking made sure it did anyway… so what made you take the plunge kid?”

Surprisingly, despite the wording of Mias phrase being a bit awkward, Kirk actually took her saying how useful his quirk surprisingly was, as a big compliment. It was almost like telling him how he was clever for getting so much use out of it! "Oh believe me, you've seen nothing yet! Just wait till the action parts!" However, his excitement about it pretty quickly changed to a bit of a shock, as Mia proceeded to tell him about the whole 'collateral tax' thing. Kirk couldn't help but grunt, almost in pain! "Maaan! It's not like a students wallet isn't small enough already! I can barely by myself new sports shoes every now and then!" In the end, the whole thing gave him a similar feeling as to before: Apparently this was just yet another part of how heroes worked, and you just needed to learn to cope with it. "Any uh... particular tips on being careful? or like, tiny ways to cut that loss of cash?" His eyebrows had lowered to a bit of a pleading look, as he jokingly bit his lip to look as desperate as possible.
however, her last word on the whole relationship thing gave him just a little boost in mood, just cause he could jab a bit back this time. "Oh come on, you are making me sound like I am DESPERATE for a relationship, pfff!" A literal jab, taking that he gave a quick fist bump to her chest area and was seemingly ready to say something else, only to hold back. as they landed from their jump, Kirk just bumped his own chest. "In the end, gotta just see if one of my bros would turn out to be something like that at some point. That would probably be the best thing. and Like I said, bros are just the thing I need!" There wasn't much else to really say. Besides, Kirk didn't wanna be rude to a teacher and someone who was genuinely trying to help out in this regard, even if it was a bro. He could have gone for a a bit meaner joke, said something about her 'passing herself around like a ball in a basketball game', but that just felt a little bit too low of a blow for his standards. Perhaps he could have made that joke with Darren, but it felt a bit too soon for this one. Besides, both of them were in a good mood now again. No need to lower it a step by accident..
However, then the mood shifted more towards a listening one. Honestly, hearing that she had become a vigilante just to fight more challenging opponents felt both surprising, and yet not so. She pretty much became one for fun. And Kirk was a little bit taken aback. In some weird way, it reminded him of Darren again. This guy, who knew a LOT about combat, yet was a little more rougher and allowed themselves to do more risky things, because he felt like they were needed. However, the whole revelation about 'being allowed to save people', was something that sort of hit him quite harshly. In some regards, it was kind of weird to think, that something as simple as trying to save people would be frowned upon. But in the end, it had always started from just her wanting to have fun. For a moment, he was pretty quiet. He didn't know really how to react to that.
Well, until Mia herself poked him to talk! "O-OH! Yeah! Obviously I gotta tell when a bro spills the beans on me!" Admittedly, it was one of those things that he had told before... But guess she wasn't a watcher of Emi's channel. That happens. "Anyways, Are you ready?! Cause it's something absolutely mindblowing!" Momentarily he waved his fingers in front of him, like drumming the air, before just turning to look her in the eye! "I did it... Cause my grandpa recommended it!" It was clear he was expecting a laugh. Not nearly as interesting as hers was! "Basicly, I saw a commercial on tv, and grandpa was the only one who was pushing me to do it, even came here with me! And well, I was at the time the sort of guy who just really felt like I needed to prove I was worth it! Didn't wanna disappoint the expectations when he was ready to push me for it!"
This time he kept running however, despite the next topic. "However, like you, I thought my quirk was absolute crap back then! So I just relied on my body. And that musculature was the only thing that really kept me in the game against all these giant electric batteries, shadow control, Color absorption, literally everything in the world! And all I had was a pouch that could carry my stuff!" He noticed that soon enough, there was a road to jump over. A bit longer split then earlier. "Felt like it was holding me back. Until one day I just... tried it in desperation! And even the pathetic try had INSANE effect!" That time back at the sports festival had ignited his curiosity. "And from then on well... Been trying to make it work! It's literally an extra pile of muscle for me to work out an extra limb!"
"And like I said before!" He leaned forward, his running leaps becoming wider and wider... "With more trained muscle, an outright extra limb!" Just like how Mia had suggested a little bit earlier, Kirk rolled forward, and pushed his pouch outward, launching himself forward at amazing momentum and an amazing distance, with the pouch behind him, like a heroic cape, before he landed and immediately continued running forward! "You can do A LOT more fun things!" His quirk was literally a part of him! And like any muscle of his, he could use it for whatever he decided to do with it in a moments notice!

Mia chuckled a fair bit as Kirk groaned about the collateral tax. Yeah, it wasn’t a pleasant part of the job, but to her it was a fair one. She did enough work just being a hero that she didn’t really need to sell out to keep up buuuut she knew a hero here or there who may not have been so lucky with their schedule. “Welll that’s part of why they let us have multiple jobs I guess, keep up with the damages.~” She teased with a cheeky smirk. “Don’t worry though, it ain’t a bad paying gig if you put the leg work in, and if you sign up as someone else’s sidekick… well it’ll minimize the risk on your end from what I’m told. I don’t really know, I think they’re rushing to figure out the paperwork on sidekicks before you lot graduate, ehehe!”
On his questions though she thought for a moment. “I’d just say finish fights quick as you can. A big chunk of damage to say, a road, is gonna be cheaper than like, 20 different smaller damages. Trust me, the shit adds up faster than you expect. If you can’t avoid that… they tend to ease up on you on any damages caused to protect or save civilians. Not saying use them like a meat shield for your wallet but you get the idea. As far as cost saving… I dunno much on that. I live a pretty minimalist lifestyle, I build my own furniture half the time-“ She had to, most shit couldn’t support her weight. “Built myself a cabin too at one point… think my main expense is my food…” She chuckled. “Hey if it’s sports wear though, maybe think about a brand deal with your favorite stuff? Load of free stuff, and you’d get some extra cash on top?” She addressed it rather casually, while some could see the idea as ‘selling out’, while it wasn’t an option Mia took, she could see people just wanting their slice of the pie to get by, and fair enough to ‘em.
Mia chuckled a little at Kirk’s optimism on the whole relationship deal, it was endearing in it’s own way but it didn’t free him from a bit of light ribbing on the matter. “Well maybe one way to climb out of the friend zone is to stop callin’ ‘em bros. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a damn bro if ever there was one, buuuuut it may not be building the right tone if ya find yerself fancyin’ a girl ya know? As someone who gets my fair share of that side of life, as good as yer intentions are, treating a gal like ‘one of the guys’ ain’t the best tactic in a lot of cases.” She didn’t mean to criticize of course, just shoot a bit of advice incase it was something Kirk did genuinely wanna pursue one day. “Hey though, whether it’s as a student, or as a hero… hope you get to have the bromance of yer dreams.~” She finished off, both a genuine wish of good will and one final jab as she stuck out her tongue.
With how Kirk ended up presenting his own story Mia burst into a small chuckle, having to stop the patrol route for a sec just so she could give his story some respect. They were making good time anyway and it wasn’t like they weren’t allowed to pause and observe a specific street for a moment, “Ah damn kid ya got me beat with such a grand story there.” She smirked towards him, giving his scruffy/spikey hair a bit of a ruffle in her monsterous mit, taking a seat on one of the ceiling vents and patting a spot beside her so they could just talk for a moment while still looking over the street below. “Hey though, seemed yer grandpa had a good instinct for ya. You’re definitely one of the kids that stand out. Not just for your quirk or your personality… for both. You’re a strong identity, and it’s clear you work with your quirk… I’ve been there… what, half a year? Honestly I’ve been dead eager to work with you again. Never thought I got a real chance to see you in action last time.” Her words were clearly genuine, not buttered up or inflated… Kirk had her attention for better or worse, and so far it was lookin’ like the better.
“Yer quirks a unique breed… and I’m glad to see you ownin’ it kid. Milkin that unique element of yourself to the last tasty drop… “ She offered a warm smile for a moment… but the tone seemed to shift as something caught her eye. She raised a hand to Kirk, cutting the conversation and gesturing for him to inch closer to the edge of the building, keeping low so they could see over the edge without giving too much of themselves away.
Mia was looking over a small van, parked up outside a building, with a small team of guys moving in and out of the vehicle and the building. They all had Personal protection equipment, face masks to be specific, rimmed caps, some had eye coverings like shades, and what seemed like fresh out of the bag, light blue uniforms. The van was never left alone, one person seem to only be watching the street, and those carrying the boxes inside were constantly looking about themselves till they went inside the building.
Mia gave Kirk’s chest a light tap. “Not to cut our conversation short but-“ She began, her voice hushed. “Apprentice job numero uno. Tell me what’s wrong with this picture.”
(feel free to add smaller details if you wish, I didn’t want to overly describe the scene so Kirk had some room to spot finer details. Feel free to ask if your unsure as I do have some other ideas to present)

As usual from her advice, Kirk wasn't sure whether it was a good or a bad thing, that multiple jobs would be a good option. That wouldn't really leave him much time for his own things! However, it did bring some bread to the table at least. The sidekick thing however had Kirk once again thinking. "I'd say that's a relief! Although I gotta admit, nothing much more depressing than letting a higher up down cause of your own messes, you know?" Kind of like missing a swing of the bat on the final strike. "...Guess you could pile that down as another reason why I am a bit worried, hehe! Been getting so many nitpicks, that they are bound to become big at some point!" It was an awkward chuckle, but a chuckle nonetheless. And the explanation from her kind of reinforced it. "Hard to be a sidekick if you end up costing your main man more than the real deal."
In the case of the sponsorship though, Kirk actually nodded. "Yeah, that one I've actually been trying to do! ...although just a bit." He hadn't exactly went to some big ol sports tool manufacturers place or anything, but he did remember trying to talk about this stuff with Mari. Getting a suit from her, and pretty much being a commercial for her company! Sadly, that didn't pan out. "I guess once I graduate, I could try something like that again! I do believe I am loud enough, that folks would happily have me shouting their companies name every so often! ...as long as I don't do it when I mess up that is." He shrugged.
In the end, Kirk couldn't help but just scratch his head at Mias insinuations about his bro speech. "I mean, if I can't be a bro with the person I like, then I think we are going in the wrong direction." His last sentence on the subject perhaps showed, that he didn't really get the issue in that broad of a sense: "I mean, if being called a bro is that big of a deal, I don't think its a match either way. Calling em 'broette' would be just silly." In the end, in his head, whoever he would get with, would probably need to be a good friend of his first. In that regard, a 'bromance' was a pretty fitting term for it maybe.
Kirk was happy to see that Mia was about as hilarified by his story as he had expected. Although he had to admit after sitting down, being as big as he is, getting a proper head ruffle without needing to kneel a bit was kind of a weird feeling at his age. Her praising his grandpa also felt a little funky, but in a good way. Just the whole speech from her kind of made him feel good inside. "Gosh, careful bro! Big heroes like you saying things like that make a guy feel proud you know!" He blinked. "Oh, uh...! You are alright with being called a bro, right? At this point its kind of instinctual! Besides, I think 'dudette' might be a bit rude in this case!" Perhaps a bit of a weird thing to hang up on, but in his head, it made sense.
However, as she was talking about his quirk, Kirk couldn't help but notice her attention shifting somewhere else. And sure enough, soon she was lifting her fingers and pointing at directions for them to go. Admittedly, being stealthy had never been Kirks strong suit, but being friends with darren had made it pretty simple to just try and keep a low profile. What she had noticed, was a pretty peculiar looking group packing things into a van. His first task had appeared! ASSESSING THE SITUATION! He watched like a hawk, trying to catch all the little nuggets of info he could get. And eventually he could come up with a couple of things atleast!
"I GE- I mean... I get it." He lifted his thumb up, whilst grinning. Indoor voice, Kirk! Indoor voice! "Well, for one, they are weirdly enough trying to cover up their identities. You know, trying to avoid showing their eyes and mouth... heck, all their clothes are the same." He pointed towards the van and the person guarding it as inconspicuously as possible. "That and you know... I'd expect if this was some moving company for them to have a logo on their van. That and I don't think the guy guarding it would be that interested in stuff OTHER than the van and whats going out of it." He gave a bit of a scratch of his head... was there more? "But if they are carrying the stuff in, they ain't super bold burglars... right?" That was his theory anyway. "But I do know, that if a guy is looking like that, they are probably preparing to make sure everybody bolts afterwards."
