RJ sipped her tea in front of her favorite cafe, enjoying the peace before the proverbial storm that was going to hit her in the face. She loved it here. It was quiet and peaceful as the people went about their everyday lives, trying to make sense of their purpose in the world. Meanwhile, she was just trying to be one person made up of two people. Speaking of which... 'Are you ready for this?' Jeanne mentally spoke to her partner. Rin nodded slowly. 'We need to let him know. Plus, he is the only we can trust versus everyone else.'
The autumn breeze hit RJ's skin, reminding her that a new season was approaching. She picked the wrong day to wear her red short sleeve shirt and blue jean shorts. But she didn't mind the cold too much. She adjusted her three-lense sunglasses, waiting for her guest to join her at the table. The black harddrive set on the table, RJ staring at as though it was a curse. 'How did he get his hands on this?' Rin wondered. 'Who knows?' Jeanne responded. 'He has a multitude of connections. And now he will be coming to Japan soon. They need to be ready for him.'
The only good news that came from this was that the villain they were talking about was unable to access it. RJ had some friends on the inside of the force who helped her crack after she confiscated back in New York from the notorious villain. What she found did not make her happy. Tobias needed to know. And maybe, he could help the Haymakers in the process.

LET'S TALK THE INVITE CAME AS A SURPRISE, for the Informant—after discovering the leak of information, and its source, Unity had given him a wide berth. There was no conclusive evidence that her handling of sensitive materials had been intentionally careless, so no administrative action had been taken, but Tobias was still thoroughly annoyed by the prospect of his carefully-protected identity having been threatened.
Further inquiry revealed that she had repossessed the file—but this did not change the fact that the file hadn’t been surrendered to the appropriate agency.
And now, they were requesting an audience with him.
Hm.
But in the interest of good information, Tobias agreed to the request. If they were seeking his assistance, it had to be good.
Tobias dressed in a tweed suit—a heathered teal coat over a tan, plaid vest. This complemented a sky-blue linen shirt and goldenrod tie, which was dappled with a repeating green diamond pattern. All this complimented with slacks that matched the suit, and brown leather shoes.
The crimson gentleman arrived about ten minutes early, but spent much of that time searching for a parking spot and seeking the café out—having gotten vaguely turned around. Truth be told, he hated open-air eating arrangements such as this. Too many vantage points for prying eyes. As a matter of fact, he really only went out for food when performing reconnaissance of his own.
But he’d humor Unity.
He picked Unity out of the café-goers with relative ease, waving at her as he slipped inside to grab some tea. When he emerged, Tobias had a small kettle of hot water, a cup, a small collection of tea, and some semblance of composure.
“I’m surprised that you reached-out to me,” the redhead remarked, a droll and humored note twisting at his tone. Tobias took a polite seat across from the woman—erm, women—and offered a conversational, “How are you, Haymaker-san?”
This afforded him some time to set-up his tea and allow it to steep.

RJ gave a small smile. The Informant was smooth and composed, she would give him that. But she knew better. Somewhere beneath the red was probably an annoyed persona ready to tell her off. To be honest, she probably deserved. She just gave out some of his information to Selena. But to be honest, Jeanne would do it again if she could. Rin didn't agree with it being the best course of action. However, both of them did agree as RJ on one thing- there were much bigger things at stake than the two getting yelled at.
"To be honest, I am surprised you took up the call," RJ responded, looking at her watch. "My day could be better. There is a lot of things I need to get off my chest. I have one more guest joining us. You might already know him and-" Jokai came running up to the table heavily breathing. "Sorry I am late! Got caught up in traffic." The older Haymaker set down, slicking back his purple hair to relax. "So, sis, how can-." RJ took that moment to stop her brother/brother-in-law as she motioned the waitress over.
"There is a reason I like this cafe," RJ remarked. She turned to the waitress. "Privacy, please. One hour and thirty minutes." The waitress nodded and clapped her hands as she walked away from the table. A sheen washed over the group as though an invisible cube was placed around them. RJ looked at the two. "She is quirker. She has the ability to create soundproof mirrors. People can't see or hear past this cube. I usually come here for some peace and quiet." She removed her glasses. "And for them to talk to you," she said her three eyes looking at Tobias.
Another small light came from RJ as the one form became two separate forms. One form shaped into a woman with a large afro and dark skin. She had a serious scowl on her face. The other formed into a black-haired woman with blue eyes and long black hair of Japanese descent. The two sat next to each other as the blue-eyed woman spoke. "Hello," she said. "I am Rin Haymaker. And this is my wife, Jeanne," she said pointing towards the afro woman. "And I believe you already had probably met or known who Jokai is." Jokai nodded. "What up? So you go to the same bar too?" Rin sighed as she looked at Tobias. "Murakami-san. I know you are not happy with me or my wife at this moment. But if you give us a chance I can explain everything."

LET'S TALK THE INFORMANT SMILED SECRETIVELY AS his surprise was met by surprise in-turn.
“Call it a healthy dose of curiosity,” he said coyly, leaning back in his chair. Tobias clasped his hands in front of him, crossing one leg over the other. A single brow leapt as he woman—or, women?—proceeded to explain that her day was could be better, and that someone else would be joining them shortly.
The bemused expression did not settle when an unfamiliar gentleman came rushing to the table, addressing RJ as “sis”. He looked vaguely familiar, like the older edition of a face with whom Tobias was better acquainted… well, he had to be a Haymaker, if one of the parties that comprised RJ was his “sister”.
With little more than a word, the waitress that was tending to them raised a semi-translucent partition around them, causing the redhead to sit taller, his eyes widening in alarm.
He’d carefully constructed his poker face once again by the time that RJ had reassembled herself into “Rin” and “Jeanne”.
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance, individually.”
He’d worked plenty with Unity as, well, a unit. Independently, however, he’d never made their acquaintance. When introduced to Jokai, Toby nodded politely to him as well.
“I had an inkling,” Tobias said vaguely, “A pleasure to meet you, sir.”
Then he returned to surveying the pair of women a frown tugging at his lips.
“Well, yes,” Tobias confirmed, his tone matter-of-fact, “Such a breach of privacy is grounds for some really nasty litigation, should one be interested in pursuing it.”
Selena had, being an honest woman, revealed that her mothers had been the one to provide her with information on the Informant. The question, then, was whether or not they’d acquired such information by nefarious means, or in some other fashion.
“I am curious about how you came across my personal files, though,” Tobias said, leaning forward in his chair to check the state of his tea in the teapot. It wasn’t quite as rich as he wanted it yet—perhaps a moment more to steep. He reclined once again.
“Let’s hear it,” he said amicably.

She winced a bit at the nasty litigation part. The last thing Rin wanted was any issues to come to the Haymaker family for her and Jeanne's errors. Rin took a deep breath, looking over to check on her scowling wife. They had been arguing on how to approach this for a couple of days now. Of course, Rin won the argument with logic as usual. In the end, Jeanne relented, understanding the gravity of the situation. They could handle all these tasks alone as they did in New York. They needed help from someone who could work in the shadows. Someone who can better prepare for what was to come.
Rin looked over to her brother, who was looking at the table with a blank expression on his face. The same could be applied to him as well. He had tried for fifteen years. She could tell that her brother was getting tired and losing hope. It was time for someone with fresh eyes on the situation. It was the only way.
"To start things off," Rin said, her face remaining calm, "you have every right to be upset with us. We only ask that you don't take your frustration out on Selena. She always dreamed of working alongside you. She always heard about how the mysterious Informant would go out and work from the shadows, solving others couldn't." Rin stirred her tea, looking at the cup in thought. "At first, she was picked on by other kids, them telling her to stop believing in myths and fairy tales. But she was determined to find you. We just tried to speed up the process. You are going to need her for what is going to come."
Rin looked at Tobias, her face calm but her eyes pleading as a mother would for their child. "So please. Don't take this chance away from her based on our mistake. If you are angry, be angry with us. She only wanted to serve as a sidekick underneath you. We just gave her enough information to make her own conclusions. We did not divulge any personal information nor any of the other heroes. In fact, we never peeked in the other files of the heroes. Only yours because we believe you could help us." Jeanne scoffed at the statement, which earned her quick glare from Rin. She was not in the mood for her mess today. There were bigger things at stake. With Jeanne being silenced, she turned her attention back to Tobias. She pulled from her purse a black hard drive and sat on the table, along with a couple of beige folders.
"We obtain this in New York, back in our vigilante days," Rin continued, tapping her finger on the hard drive. "According to one of our off-the-grid hackers, this hard drive contained the information of every pro hero here in Japan. Their movements, their homes... identities. All here for anyone who could access to see." Jeanne took the moment to speak up. "According to our hacker, the person who had possession of it was unable to access it. The code was too complex. It seems they paid for the information, but not the access to it."
Rin took one of the folders and open it up for Tobias to see. It was a picture of a dark-skinned man. One side of his face looked human. But the other half seemed... demonic. completely charcoal black with orange lines webbed throughout. "This man is James Authurwood. A cop turned criminal. He believes that he is some bounty hunter who makes the laws. He was removed from the force when his operations and corruption came to light."
Jeanne put her head down, thinking back on the day. "He took out my partner, John Ching. He was my friend and Rin's husband. We tried to bring him in. But he has always been one step ahead. He had obtained the hard drive with the intent to come here and hunt all the pros down. Thinking that he would be the ultimate bounty hunter for the world see. The ultimate Marshall." Rin sadly smiled. "I miss John every day. And we thought we had James when someone on the inside gave us information about his hideout. But he got away before we got there, leaving the hard drive behind."
Jeanne looked at Tobias. "The good news is that James didn't have the know-how to open it. But our hacker did. He immediately called us back telling us to take the hard drive back, wanting nothing to do with it. He was dead a few days later. We believe James didn't get what he wanted from him." Jeanne took a deep breath. "We took a peek at it, seeing what we could find to help us stop James. Your name came up. I don't agree with involving you, but Rin thinks that this is the only way."
Rin came back into the conversation. "We believe he is here in Japan, looking to retain the information from the criminals here. We are not sure how he is going to do it. But if he gets to your underground criminals, it could spell trouble for everyone." Rin looked at Tobias. "That's why we need your help to find a way to stop James and warn the others of him. He is extremely dangerous and he will not stop at nothing to kill all of you."
