APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
POSITIVE
✔ Wise, Kind, Empathetic
NEGATIVE
✖ Aloof at times, Strict, Firm about tradition
LIKES
✔ Ice cream, Anime (SHHHHH SECRET OTAKU!), Traditional Tea
DISLIKES
✖ Villains/Villainous sorts, Western Styled Teas, Western Animation
Personality:
Toshiaki is a man of tradition and values when it comes to the way he walks through life, family is of the utmost importance and he firmly believes that time isn't to be wasted by idling around. Which is sort of funny in its own way since he's actually relatively calm and sometimes even a bit aloof, relatively chill about things when it comes to things outside of tradition and core values he holds close to his heart. Though when he's watching anime, some times he gets a little into the shows he watches and has moments where he's reminiscent of an elderly person watching soap operas or the news. ESPECIALLY when it's his favorite shows! Even if he tries to keep his otaku nature from showing most of the time, he's appreciative of the story, art, voice acting and music that construct anime in its entirety.
Yet, he genuinely didn't want to see his grandson, Fion, become a NEET, so he even made the effort to get the kid birthday gifts that promoted the idea of those with powers doing great and heroic things. Toshiaki cared that much that he was capable of taking a sense of empathy to put himself in Fion's position, trying to see what would encourage him to take the right path. All he wants what is best for his family and for them to contribute good things, whether it's big or small. He has a strong love an appreciation for tea since it can taste absolutely horrible if all the right steps aren't taken to prepare it properly, one of the things he's rather strict and firm about being done right without skipping any corners. Even finding a sense of joy in working with one of his closest friends to figure out which teas aid in developing good tasting ice cream as well, ones that work alongside traditional flavors nicely.

HISTORY
Marrying Wakana Kuiuchiki at a young age, it was originally an arranged marriage in which their families were to benefit one another in terms of property expansion and business opportunity. At first, it was a little peculiar because even though the young couple liked each other, it was still a marriage intended for mutual benefit for their families and the generations to come. The Kamiya's were always known to be hard workers and doing their best to respect their resources and the land of which they do farming on, whereas the Kuiuchiki's had a way with animals and watched them thrive with loving care. Wakana's talents were through musical melodies in which she was almost like a pied piper, playing different songs and tunes with flutes and sometimes her voice. It was one of the things that actually made his heart sing when it came to Wakana, so when he found out about the arranged marriage...it wasn't so bad.
A woman with a kind heart to be his wife and genuinely cared for animals, he was truly fortunate that they were wonderful people. One of her older sisters married a German man who was also passionate about animals and wanted to create a sanctuary, so he reached out to the Kamiya's and reached out for their help to foster his dream into reality, all he needed was the property to help. Of course, they were going to be family and their heart was in the right place, so they offered support toward one another and Toshiaki aimed to help get things going for them when his business was able to support himself and the family he wished to have. To help keep his mind and soul at ease, Toshiaki and his father worked together to make a large house with a dojo and small shrine so that they could offer a comfortable home to their budding family, a roof for those who needed it and to pay tribute to their roots and never forget where they came from. Remain humble and respectful through years to come.
Years of careful investments and research, he made great friends along the way as his business flourished and he was certain to share the wealth among his family where and when they needed it. His trade name was The Jade Dragon as he gradually built up the foundation and notoriety of the Dragon's Lotus Tea Shop as well as the dojo upon their property. When his children married, his daughter was the only one to have a quirked child and he felt like it was important to make sure he was raised up with a good head on his shoulders. More so after the tragic incident when Hotaru's husband died during the break in, an incident in which he encouraged them to move in so he could watch over and protect them as best as he could. So when the Pro Hero program came out, he began looking further into the things his grandson liked and made the effort to nurture him and his passion for heroes.
Toshiaki suggested that to help Fion become more independent and focus on his studies, that it'd be best for him to stay at the dorms, but welcome him back home whenever he wanted to visit. Even though he couldn't get Fion to embrace and respect traditions as much as he and his wife hoped, at least the boy was willing to do what was right and become a proper hero to follow the way of a new tradition.
