[attr="class","life"] ❝ life is full of little lies [attr="class","les"]X Kyoko had FINALLY manage to get the apartment building back. Eternity's old base of operations. However things were much more empty than before now. Her stuff was still their, apparently the government never even really managed to find out she owned this building. Even if they did she doubted the government wanted a bunch of homeless people out on the street because they closed it. She turned the key to her apartment and walked in. Things were just as she had left it before Shinagawa, however Boopler was deactivated. It only made sense, she had to put him to charge manually. She picked up the little robot and put him to charge in the nearby outlet, his LED camera lit up showing his charge percentage. Her apartment was covered in dust and grime, ugh this was going to be a lot of work and Boopler took FOREVER to charge. She immediately got to work, dusting the counter's using her extra appendages in claw form to grab and clean multiple surfaces, being careful to not scratch shit when she got a text from Katsuo, he was asking her to meet him on his floor, the one below her. She replied to him fast telling him "omw" as she put down all the cleaning supplies down and washing her face and hands to get all those chemicals off of her body. As she got ready to walk down stairs Boopler turned on and noticed kyoko, he booped a bit at her and grabbed onto her leg imitating a hug. Where the hell did he learn to do that? Well regardless kyoko squatted down to his level and gave him a head pat...did that failed AI go into boopler? It did randomly vanish from the chat and it's server was here...she'd look further into it later. For now she gave an order to boopler. "Once you're fully charged clean up around here ok? Sorry i've been gone for so long so it's really dusty." boopler simply beeped at her and put his hands in the air as he immediately rolled back into his charging station and went into sleep mode..weird...She went down the stairs since his was directly below hers wondering how his apartment was coming along. She knocked on the door a bit "Hey im coming in, hope you're decent." she said out-loud as she barged in. She looked around the apartment a bit as she wondered where exactly he was. "Damn you've been busy in here." she said taking note of her surroundings before she found him.. | [attr="class","goodness"] ✉ @tagone ✉ @tagtwo ✎ 0000 words |

Katsuo had always found that manual labor or at least something physically strenuous helped him think. It cleared the mind in his case and pushed all unnecessary thoughts away to allow him to focus on the task at hand. He and Kyoko had only gotten the apartment building back a few days ago, with Kyoko herself staying behind in the Underground for most of that time squaring away her set up in preparation for the move. Katsuo had taken that time to scout ahead so to speak. He knew that Kyoko already had claim to the entire top floor of the complex, as was her right he supposed, so Katsuo saw no reason to leave the floor directly below her to go to waist. The initial clean-up had taken the better part of the day on it's own, not exactly glamorous work, but necessary all the same. Then came the real work.
A quick stop at a local hardware store and one fully laden van latter, all thanks to Thunder-Duds credit card of course, Katsuo had all the tools he needed to start tearing the place apart, ready for some serious refits. What had once been a floor of individual dwellings was now much, much more open, in some places at least. For now Katsuo had to leave a fair number of undesired walls standing until he could brace the area in other places. The approach from the elevator itself was still relatively untouched, it served as a near perfect funnel for any would be invaders. Other than that though things had changed drastically. Kyoko had given Katsuo free reign to take whatever he needed from the Underground to help and he had been all too happy to take anything not bolted down. A number of silent running generators dominated a far corner of the space, supplying power to the myriad appliances and electronics that Katsuo had seen fit to install.
One of the remaining rooms had been retrofitted into a security hub for the building, it's space taken up mostly by a large bank of monitors that displayed feeds from all throughout the building that Katsuo had installed. Many residents had been hesitant to allow him to do so, but it wasn't an issue a little intimidation couldn't solve. He had also converted a few rooms into essentially a command center, a large illuminated table sat in the middle of the space, hooked into a bank of computers that Katsuo hoped Kyoko hadn't needed by way of numerous thick bundled cables. Though the entirety of the floor hadn't been turned over to more practical necessities. The remaining space was more dust and ruble at this point but Katsuo had more than a few plans. The last few years he had been living in rather...disappointing conditions. This place presented an opportunity for him to finally make a space his own, just how he wanted it, and he was going to take every opportunity he could.
In his pocket his phone vibrated softly, it seemed Kyoko had gotten his message and was on her way down. At the moment he was only wearing pants and boots, his torso covered in dust and dry wall, so he quickly ducked into one of the few remaining rooms that served as his bedroom, dusted himself off quickly and threw on a loose fitting singlet. When he emerged Kyoko was already knocking on the door, a door that when she wrapped her knuckles against it pushed itself out of it's housing and fell to the floor with a dull thud. Katsuo stood and stared at both it and Kyoko for a brief moment before shrugging his shoulders.
"Eh, I was going to get rid of that anyway. Saves me some time I suppose." he said in greeting before Kyoko commented on just how busy it seemed he had been.
"Pretty much. This place needed, and still needs, plenty of work to meet my standards. Oh, those stairs your came down on are getting axed as well. The stairwell will end the floor below us." he explained. He wanted the top two floors of this building to be as secure as possible. A stairwell was much easier to simply remove all together than it was to fortify and secure to Katsuo's standards.
"But thanks for coming, got something I need your opinion on." he said, his tone more subdued than normal, something Kyoko would undoubtedly pick up on, she just knew him far too well. He waved her to follow him and made his way to the 'Command Center', brushing a thin layer of dust off of the illuminated table. A brief moment passed where the screen that made up the tables surface booted up, streams of code flickered across it's surface as the program booted up.
"You've asked a few times now what actually happened all those years ago," Katsuo began, not making eye contact with Kyoko just yet, "about why I suddenly dropped off the radar and, well, left you alone." he said, finally meeting Kyoko's gaze. Katsuo's fingers tapped quickly at small keyboard on the tables edge.
"This is the reason why." he said, accentuating it with a singular button press. The table flickered to life, a holographic image building itself in the air above the surface. Starting from the feet up it soon became clear the image was that of a man wearing a white and blue striped outfit consisting only of a pair of pants, forearm sleeves and a neck-head and shoulder covering. The exposed skin of the man was a deep blue, bordering on black with specks of white that resembled stars and galaxies shifting ever so slightly across its surface. The mans eyes were beacons of pale blue light. Slicked black hair covered the top of the mans head.
"This is Starlight, you may or may not already have heard of him. He's a Hero, if you want to stretch the term that far." Katsuo explained, venom dripping from each word.
"He was a very good friend of my Father," he said, his face contorting briefly in rage at the mere thought of the man that had sired him. "And that alone should tell you all you need to know about him."
Katsuo began slowly pacing back and forth along the edge of the table.
"He's also the man that essentially sold me into Slavery for 3 years." he finally said, the words hard to push past his lips.

[attr="class","life"] ❝ life is full of little lies [attr="class","les"]X A simple stutter escaped her lips "O-oh." she said as she stood in the doorway for a second, shocked that it just fell apart like that. She was surprised that the apartment building had fallen into such decay without her there. She tip toed over the door and kind of hurridly walked past it as she was trying to play it off that it fell by itself, not because of her."That's one hell of an understatement huh?" she said staring curiously at the apartment. She honestly forgot who even stayed here before Katsuo, however she tilted her head curiously. The stairwell? Were they meant to only use the elevator to go up and down? She held her questions as well it wasnt really that important at the moment, surely he had an idea and she was going to let him handle security since he seemed to enjoy this kind of stuff. "Do as you please, if you need more people to help I'm sure the other people who live here would be happy to help." The camera like eyes of hers adjusted onto certain parts of the apartment as she took pictures of the room. She was trying to get some pictures of the apartment "Probably could scam some money out of the insurance company for these..."damages" she said with a little smirk on her face. Things began to take a turn, Katsuo had told her he needs her opinion on something. "Oh?" she said as she tilted her head and followed him closely, she knew something was wrong. He wasnt his usual cocky and happy self...what did he find? Well regardless she was glad to see that the tech she outfitted in each apartment was still working well..or well enough. That's when Katsuo finally dropped the news on her, he had managed to locate starlight. Well first of all at least she finally got a concrete answer as to what exactly had happen. She sat there, her face unchanging from it's stone cold expression. She leaned into her chair "As if a true hero ever really existed in the first place." she said as she crossed her arm. "I haven't heard of him...surprisingly." she said curiously wondering why that was exactly. She kept up to date on the majority of heroes in japan. She could practically see the venoms spilling from his mouth. She stood up and walked over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder as she sat next to him. She leaned on him a bit, trying to offer some emotional support. Something she'd only do for Katsuo "All you need to do is ask me and I'll do whatever you want to the bastard. He is scum that doesnt deserve to even ever be known as a pro hero. I'll wipe all mentions of his name anywhere. He will vanish after im done with him." she said as she was ready to move the moon and the sun to give him what he wants. However she realized she wasnt even giving him a chance to speak. "Wait, what do you want my opinion on, sorry I got a bit too excited." she said as her computers released a warm puff of air from behind her as she was literally cooling off. Her computer gave her a notification that boopler was done charging...that was sooner than expected. She clicked the notification on her computer and spoke "Boopler. Bring me liquor. The hard stuff." she said as she sent him the command. A few moments later a buzzing can be heard down the hall into the room as Boopler brought a little tray with scotch and the appropriate drinking ware."Oh by the way. Katsuo this is Boopler, Boopler this is Katsuo a special friend of mines so give him whatever he asks for." she said as she already began to pour the scotch and Boopler put both his hands up at Katsuo. "He's basically a robot butler. Hence the name boopler." she explained. She took a sip of the scotch and waited to Katsuo to tell her exactly what she had to give an opinion on, it should be obvious by now that she's ready to murder him and erase him from existence at the drop of a hat. "Know his quirk by any chance? Location? I'm ready right now if we need to go.". | [attr="class","goodness"] ✉ @tagone ✉ @tagtwo ✎ 0000 words |
