Effect: A healing type, Sophie’s Quirk gives her the ability to expel water-like liquid from her pores that has some rather remarkable properties. Carrying a strange compound within it that seems to energize cells and stimulate their growth to truly ridiculous levels, the ‘Aqua Vitae’ of Miss Sequoia is readily absorbed into the skin and creates fantastic healing effects in both herself and others. Capable of curing surface wounds in a matter of moments, people have noted that it looks like the liquid that Sophie produces seems to ‘wash away’ cuts and bruises as if they were simply dirt attached to the skin, and when permeating an area can also greatly supplement sub-surface healing, with a dousing of the liquid able to fully heal muscle strains and sprains in less than a minute and simple fractures are usually repaired in a matter of minutes. An added effect of the ‘energy’ her water seems to give cells seeming to cancel out fatigue, once the process is complete the affected area is said to feel fresh and revitalized thanks to her treatment.
This useful property also supplemented by Sophie’s ability to ‘hold’ vast volumes of the fluid within herself which she can then exude it as she sees fit, thankfully for her good looks this process does not seem to adversely affect her appearance, being able to preserve a slim physique with the same dietary and exercise discipline that anyone else would. Basically any liquid she takes into herself above what her body usually needs for hydration being converted into her Aqua Vitae, the process of conversion at the moment takes five minutes to turn a litre of ordinary fluid into Aqua Vitae. An added effect of her quirk being truly incredible levels of alcohol tolerance, while she isn’t fully immune to its effects, her body naturally seems to naturally ‘filter out’ non-hydrating liquids to convert into Aqua Vitae, meaning she usually doesn’t start to get drunk until her ‘tank’ is full.
Capable of exuding liquid with a reasonable amount of force, as a child Sophie could not generate significant pressure with her watery expulsion but has honed her power to be able to project jets of liquid like a nozzle from a garden hose.
Drawback: A liquid-based power, Sophie’s Aqua Vitae largely has the same properties of the same stuff you’d find in a tap, and can be ‘shut down’ by freezing and cold powers to render it inert until melted. It is perfectly vulnerable to any who have the ability to manipulate and interact with liquids, as well as some simpler logistical limitations. At her current level of development
she can carry roughly two litres of fluid with comfortably inside herself, and while this effect doesn’t seem to adversely affect her pretty figure, this doesn’t mean it doesn’t influence her weight and stamina. Putting a kilo per litre of water she consumes, while she can ‘push’ her power to hold more than this, it is very detrimental to her physical capacity. Carrying even a litre beyond the limit she has trained herself up to so far can lead to the symptoms of Hyponatremia, such as nausea, fatigue, body weakness and unconsciousness.
As a power that needs to be ‘fuelled’, Sophie seems to have a near limitless thirst for liquid, compulsively carrying, seeking out and consuming drinks in order to keep her powers topped up. Once her excess runs dry her powers seem to greatly diminish, being able to draw upon her natural bodily reserves in order to go beyond her natural limits but this rapidly dehydrating her and likely leaving her very fatigued and risking both unconsciousness and even death.
The effect that Sophie can imbue water with being short term, after approximately five minutes the healing effect is has wanes and the liquid becomes ordinary water again.
From a medical perspective, while the qualities of Aqua Vitae are incredibly, they are not a perfect ‘cure all’. Unable to replace lost fluids like blood and rather useless against disease and infection, they also cannot inherently fix complex injuries such as a compound fracture without the area being first set properly, otherwise the cells will mend in misshapen and dangerous ways. Furthermore, injuries can still take some time to heal, even if the rate is greatly expedited, and the amount of liquid/method of application can mean some acts of recovery can’t be performed in an unsafe and rushed environment so she needs at least a little ‘break’ of a few seconds from active battle to employ her powers even in minor wounds. Effect: Oozing a water-like liquid from her skin with remarkable properties, the ‘Aqua Vitae’ as Sophie has called it is something of a medical marvel as it can stimulate the cells in her own and others bodies to regenerate incredibly quickly. Acting so quickly that the effect seemingly ‘washes away’ minor injuries like cuts and bruises, the special properties of this liquid also energizes the body as it works so it can leave an area feeling as ‘good as new’. The following table is a rough guide to how much time and liquid volume it would take to heal a wound;

Sourced by the various liquids that Sophie drinks, her body has innate capacity to ‘store’ converted fluid within it and as a bonus effect it means that the woman also has high levels of tolerance for alcohol and other liquid based intoxicants since the ability filters them into Aqua Vitae as a natural process of the power.
At her current level, Miss Sequoia can hold and emit about
5 Litres of fluid, and her ability takes about
3 Minutes to refine any fluid she imbibes into Aqua Vitae. She can also, if need be, project her liquid with a similar level of force as a fireman’s hose.
Drawbacks: Sophie’s abilities only work in liquid form, if her Aqua Vitae is frozen or turned into steam by the extremes of temperature her quirk is useless. (It has the same freezing/boiling point as water)
Sophie feels an eternal thirst to fuel her powers, compulsively drinking water to keep herself hydrated and becoming more thirsty as she uses her abilities. Her weight also fluctuates by gaining/losing a kilogram for every litre of water she holds up to her current limit of 5L. If she tries to overuse her powers to store more water, she suffers the symptoms of Hyponatremia, such as nausea, fatigue, body weakness and unconsciousness.
Sophie’s Aqua Vitae has a limited ‘shelf life’, losing its healing properties after about ten minutes and becoming basically the same as ordinary water.
