Alfredo's Market
Staff: 8, split between full and part time
Key Person: Alfredo Rossini (Owner)
One of Little Italy's longest serving residents and good friends with Enzo, though even tempered, he can become annoyed quickly if people criticize his products, or the prices he puts on them, believing them to be reasonable and even generous considering the high standard of his items. Because of this, he is known to get into arguments with potential customers who criticize his items or the price he puts on them, but is highly loyal and generous to his regular customers, and those who show proper respect and is even willing to offer discounts and deals to people he likes.
Description:
A gourmet goods store, offers authentic Italian produce such as meat, cheese, bread, wine, all imported from mother Italy. The owner, Alfredo, very much believes in the quality of his items, and thinks he offers the best Italian imported produce of all japan, and they honestly are rather good; many locales prize them in spite of the high price.
Handling the usual in-person shopping experience and even offering the capability to order online for delivery, in addition to this Alfredo also provides service large scale bulk orders for places like restaurants, offers a reasonable discount to help out local businesses and loyal customers, though the mark up on items generally might be considered 'steep' due to the costs incurred with import. However, most decent Italian restaurants would agree they're happy to pay for something authentic, especially when it's this good.
Bellucci's Café
Staff: Around 10, mostly part time students.
Key Person: Bruno Bellucci (Owner)
A recent addition to the Little Italy community from Milan, he moved here with his family and in many ways represents the stable 'rock' for his livelier husband and daughter to act off of. Cool in his temperament but friendly and sociable, those who get to know Bruno might be surprised to discover he's kind of a gossip who loves his job since he can chat about all sorts of goings on, but ultimately is a proud and supportive father and husband to a more famous fashion designer who now works for ASTA brand, and as such is happy to live more humbly so that he can support the people he loves the most.
Description:
The second incarnation and 'branch' of the Bellucci's café brand, which one supposes is now international, Bruno grew up working in his mother's café in Milan and when moving to Japan for his family decided he needed it in his life still, so set up his own humble little establishment in the city of Musutafu. Offering the authentic Italian experience with simple but stylish décor, they provide a wide range of hot drinks and some cool and refreshing options as well as the odd alcoholic beverage, and also offer snacks and lunch options for those who wish to dine in or outside, setting up outdoor seating on pleasant enough days for those to relax in.
Enzo's Garage
Staff: 8 Including the Owner, full time.
Key Person: Enzo Ferrara (Owner)
Another one of the neighbourhoods oldest residents, and a good friend of Alfredo, Enzo is something of a romantic and actually arrived in japan in the 2020's because of a romance with a pretty girl. Sadly that love fading but his passion for classic cars and scooters never leaving him, the man worked hard in local garages until he could afford to set his own place up, which has been a feature in Musutafu ever since. Surprisingly never formally educated in any way, his experience and passion have led him to become a peerless engineer, with a mechanical understanding which some say could rival those working for NASA. Favouring those with either a pretty face, a fondness for fine machinery or simply a soul who's willing to put the hard work in, he can be rather charming when he wants to be, and prides himself on greeting everyone he meets on the street in a friendly fashion, and offering a kind compliment to every lady, be they woman or even a little girl.
Description:
An old garage with an attached shop where Enzo sells Italian model scooters such as Vespa, while it's a great place for one to pick up the latter, as he has matured the man and his company have prided themselves on their abilities in restoration and resurrection; often buying up old and dilapidated models of cars and putting the time and effort into restoring them to their former glory, before selling them on to enthusiasts. Not the sort of place one would dive in to get a tire or bulb changed though rarely the type to turn away business, the profits of the shop tend to come from private collectors wanting to get their machines repaired or serviced with the care, attention and love that they deserve, with each mechanic having been trained personally as a protégé of old Enzo to give the best service.
Francesca's Finery
Staff: 5, mixed full and part time.
Key Person: Francesca Fontaine[/b] (Owner/Manager)
Owner of the premier fashion boutique in Little Italy, Francesca tends to be a highly opinionated woman who bounces between friendly and catty with Bruno's husband Emmanuel, having already established something of a rivalry between given the overlap in their occupations. A lover of fashion since a young age, she moved to Tokyo to study for a prestigious role in a design studio, but ended up enjoying running her own fancy boutique more, and like Enzo and Alfredo has been here for decades, selling the finest Italian fashions to the locals and those who venture from Tokyo, and has become perhaps a little bit snooty as a result.
Description:
A venue which should not be underestimated for its modest size, Francesca's is well stocked with stylish items and the owner takes pride in the fact that anyone who buys from her will certainly be catching the eye of others, and while she may seem a bit pushy has a great eye for what might make a lad or lady look good. Even going so far as to provide tailoring services for those who wish to have items altered to really make them suit the cut of their jib, so to speak, it has been known for the woman herself to create whole ensembles from scratch when she discovers a passion project, and she has even provided several western-style wedding dresses and suits to high profile individuals, for which the shop takes great pride in.
Osteria dei Mascalzone
Staff: 12, Part and full time, chefs and waiting staff.
Key Person: Giovanni Trapani (Owner)
A young man who seems to be ambitious and yet also rather private, Giovanni is known to be an effective businessman, establishing his restaurant despite stiff competition to be one of the most popular Italian eateries not just in the city of Musutafu, but the whole wider Tokyo area as well. Not much known about him in a more personal sense since he seems to somewhat defy the more outgoing stereotype of the Italian to the degree some might see him as a little bit churlish, all the same he seems to command a high level of respect despite his young age, though given his furtive nature some struggle to understand this beyond his entrepreneurial spirit and head for business.
Description:
A traditional Italian eatery which offers a wide range of authentic Italian cuisine for the discerning consumer, Osteria takes great pride in the quality of their dishes and their resolute desire to remain pure in the face of a foreign land to stick to their principal Appenine theme. Everything within the establishment crafted in a strictly European style, one who is used to Japanese culture would likely be surprised by the difference here, and thanks to the atmosphere and music one might be forgiven for thinking they might have stepped through a door and ended up on the other side of the world given what they find within, since it is such a strong contrast to the more traditional Japanese effect and effort.
Stefano's Pizzeria
Staff: Around 12, full time cooks and part time delivery workers.
Key Person: Andria Di Stefano (Owner/Head Chef)
A somewhat temperamental but ultimately big hearted man with a lot of pride in both his business and his customers, Andria has a great fondness for regulars and loves to toss them 'extras' where can, and also tries to minimize waste by dropping off spare food and orders to the less fortunate. Hot spirited but friendly and approachable, while his personality seems to clash with the habitually subdued folk of Japan he's more perceptive than he seems and understanding, and has a good memory as well; he tends to remember little details from all the people who visit his shop, and can often be counted on to know spot someone in low spirits, and offer a little pick me up either in a kind word or gesture.
Description:
Another authentic Italian experience which prides itself on outdoing the commonplace fast food chains churning out greasy pizzas, Stefano's is the sort of place one would choose if one favours high quality of quantity, and you would likely be rewarded for doing so. Offering eat in and take away as well as delivery services as well, the pizzas, calzones and sides are all cooked according to methods that the man learned from his father back in Napoli which had been passed down the generations, and are remarked by many to be the best slice one can get in Musutafu, or even Japan. The sheer breadth of the menu also rather impressive, along with the usual toppings one might expect from a pizzeria, one thing that really sets Stefano's apart is the ingenuity of their cooks, who are more than happy to provide more abstract and inventive options for a unique but delectable dining experience.
