Today was a nice day. Though summer had very recently ended, there was still a trace of warmth left to enjoy. Which was good for Daisuke, since he was dreading the harsh cold of winter. Just the thought of the cold made the boy shiver! But no dwelling on bad stuff! Today was going to be a good day! Probably! Hopefully! Maybe?
Hmm, what to do today? School was over, so Daisuke was pretty much free for the rest of the afternoon. Where to head to? Daisuke figured that the mall was probably a good place to start. So many shops, a bunch of places to visit, and so many people here. Though the boy was shy and very hesitant to approach others, he did want to try and make more friends. After all, his social circle was... well it wasn't exactly nonexistent, but it still left a lot to be desired.
Alright then, it's decided! By the end of today, I'm gonna try and make one new friend! I... I can do it! ...Maybe.
But before trying to work up the courage to find someone to talk to, Daisuke wanted to look around the mall. After all, if he failed in his personal mission of the day, he at least did not want to come out of it empty-handed. Perhaps he could surprise his dad by getting him something. The boy knew how hard his dad worked, so he wanted to try and find something nice. But what to get?
While he pondered that question, Daisuke noticed a small flower shop. Ooh, so pretty! He noticed a wide variety of flowers being displayed by the entrance. Considering that the boy loved plants, there was no way he could say no to this. He had enough money for some flowers, so why not? Plus, the ones at home were beginning to wilt anyway, so the time to replace them may as well be now.
A shame I can't bring Kusadama out to enjoy these flowers. I know the little guy would just love them!
Daisuke bought a few different kinds of flowers. Roses, violets, sunflowers, daisies. The only thing stopping him from getting more was his limited funds. Despite that, the boy still bought quite a bit of flowers. It wasn't too hard to carry them all by himself, but it would certainly be very tricky to keep a good grip. Aw jeez, I hope I don't accidentally crash into anyone! That would be awful!
Speaking of people, it was time to begin his mission. Attempt to overcome his shyness and make a new friend! But who would be willing to befriend this green-haired dummy? Would he even be able to work up the courage to approach someone? Or would someone choose to talk to him first? Who knows! |

Meanwhile, there was another youth roaming Japan. Thats right, it was Malia. She was fresh off of the plane that came from Hawaii. It was like a day since her arrival and she already wanted to scope out her new stomping grounds of Japan. Malia watched and explored what looked like to be a shopping area. Oh how she wished she could summon Kupua. But alas her cousin warned her not to use her Quirk willy nilly. Japan was very stuffy with its Quirk rules unlike Hawaii that was lax.
But the thing was that she was so amazed by the wonders and strangeness of Japan that she accidentally ran into someone because she did not look where she was going. She fell back on her bum. But once she looked up she saw flowers, plenty of flowers! Oh and a boy behind those flowers. My my how romantic. If she didnt know any better she'd say she was in France due to the romance filling this area. Once Malia got up and patted her behind, she looked at the boy "Oh! Apologies! Did I hurt you?" Malia asked the boy. Her Japan was still fresh and she wasnt sure if she spoke quite well, but she might as well help him because its her fault if his flowers get messed up. She didnt watch where she was going

Daisuke was doing his best to carry all these flowers while also trying to watch where he was going. To say he did a poor job was putting it very lightly. Aw, if only I could summon Kusadama to help guide me. But I don't wanna get in trouble again. It wasn't fair. Why was Japan so strict with its laws? He could understand the restriction if he could breathe fire, or shoot lasers, or make explosions. But Kusadama was harmless! The hedgehog couldn't hurt a thing even if it wanted to. So why was it illegal to bring out the little buddy? It wasn't fair!
Being lost in thought, Daisuke would of course not focus on where he was going, or the people around him. It was only natural then that he would crash into someone and fall down. "Oww." Frantically, the boy began to check the flowers to see if they were alright. Daisuke did not care if he was hurt, as he could always have Kusadama heal him once he went back home.
And then he heard a voice. A girl's voice, apologizing and asking if she hurt him. Daisuke answered as he began gathering the fallen flowers off the ground. "Ah, don't worry about it. I'm alright. If anything, I should be the one to apologize. I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you alright?" It took no time at all to finish picking up all the flowers. And to his relief, none of them were ruined. All perfectly intact!
Then Daisuke looked up to actually see the girl with his own eyes. And upon doing so, he nearly dropped all the flowers again. Oh wow, a girl! And she's pretty! The shy boy frantically began to think of what to say. He had already made a pretty lousy first impression. No need to make things worse, right? Okay Daisuke, just try to relax, smile, and introduce yourself. Start a nice and engaging conversation. And try not to embarrass yourself. Should be easy to do, right?
And with that, Daisuke smiled nervously and spoke in a higher-pitched tone than usual, making it extremely clear just how shy this dummy was. "HimynameisDaisukenicetomeetyouwhat'syourname?" And then the boy realized just what he had done, dropping all his flowers in shock. Damn it! Why do I always panic when I meet new people? Get it together, man! The boy frantically began to pick up the flowers he had dropped like a stuttering dumbass. Why is talking to people hard? |

Malia got up and patted her behind that she fell upon. Once that was better, she apologized and asked the boy if he was okay. Malia offered her hand to help the boy up on his feet. She then noticed more flowers that had fallen, so she decided to crouch down and help him collect his fine specimens. The boy answered and said that she should not worry about it. He is fine, but strangely he apologized. It turns out that he too did not watch where he was going and so he asked if she is alright.
She chuckled as she slowly handed him the flowers she collected and thus she spoke. "Well... it seems we already have something in common then, as I also did not watch where I was going" Soon she got up on her feet and once again offered her hand to help him up on his feet. She then finally saw his face when he looked at her and she smiled. The reaction was a fun one, but she was glad he did not drop the flowers once again
The boy then smiled nervously while she smiled sweetly to him. But she was surprised by the way he spoke. He spoke so fast and had a higher pitched voice. She couldnt catch it as she tried to repeated it "What did you say? Him ... is Daisuke nice tom you what... what?" Malia surmised from vague context that he tried to introduce himself and say his name and ask her her own name. But due to her not being a native japanese speaker, she couldnt quite catch that instantly. She then noticed he dropped the flowers. "Oh my goodness" she crouched down once again to help him pick up the flowers. She would glance at him while picking up the flowers and smile. Maybe she can help him. Not like this but a long term help. Get the boy some confidence and self esteem so he wouldnt be shy.

Daisuke softly chuckled to himself as he picked his flowers off the floor. At least they weren't damaged, miraculously enough. I really am hopeless, aren't I? At least things could have gone far worse, all things considered. At least the girl wasn't making fun of him or laughing at him. In fact, she was kind enough to help him pick up the flowers off the ground. She seemed nice in general. Daisuke smiled. "Thank you." If only there were more nice people in the world. Ah well, that was not something he could change, nor was it something to focus on right now.
"Sorry, please let me try that again." The boy smiled, not wanting the girl to think that he was always a stuttering and nervous wreck all the time. "My name is Daisuke. Daisuke Sasaki. It's very nice to meet you!" Much better. Speaking in a regular tone that was actually very clear and easy to understand! See, that wasn't so hard now, was it? "What's your name, miss? If I may ask?" Can't forget his manners now. Daisuke did not exactly make a very strong first impression, but he could at least try to salvage things and not make himself look worse than he actually was.
"So, you here to buy flowers too? Or were you just passing by?" Daisuke did not want to assume anything, as he was not exactly the brightest kid out there. But if he had to guess, the girl here might not be from around here. He couldn't pinpoint why, but something about her seemed different from the typical Japanese girl that he sees at school. Was she a foreigner? It would be intriguing if she was. Daisuke had not met many people from outside Japan. But even if this girl was a local, Daisuke still wanted to try and get to know her better. If he could, that was. There was always the chance he messed up or would mess up. But hey, you never know unless you try, right? |

The boy smiled and thanked her. Malia smiled to him and said with a kind smile "I am happy to help". He then tried to introduce himself, but poor thing was so nervous that he spoke super fast and well, since Malia wasnt a native to Japan, she didnt understand what exactly did he say. She did surmise he did try to introduce herself, but even with guesswork such as that, she did not know what words he used.
So he apologized and tried again. He somewhat calmed down and said his name. Daisuke Sasaki. She would remember that. Malia in turn introduced herself "Pleased to meet you, Daisuke. My name is Malia. Malia Aiona" she said and politely and confidently introduced herself. As soon a conversation formed where both parties were relaxed with one another, Daisuke asked was she here buying flowers, or passing by. Malia answered "I was just sightseeing~" She didnt want to go on and say she's Hawaiian and came here early to learn about Japan and go to UA. No no, she needed to be smart. It was foolish and foolhardy to just proclaim to the world what she will be. She knew she had to be smart, because who knows what dangers lurk in Japan. What villainy. Of course she doesnt suspect Daisuke of being a villain. But still, its more like a game of telephone. Who would he tell? Or who would overhear them? No one needed to know. Only the classmates that she would have in the future
