[attr="class","itsover1"] Sonya had set this time aside; just for her and for Kado. The two of them had been dancing around the idea of a proper date for a while now; though they'd spent time together and with the third of their polycule, Marceline, the two had yet to go on a date just to focus on one another. Sonya had been meticulous to give both women enough of her time to make them feel special; even as she tried to give them the space and freedom they deserved. It was a careful balance, but she felt like as of yet she had done a darn good job keeping on top of it.
She slid her hands into her pockets while they stepped out of the lounge. It had been more of a speakeasy than anything else; a classy place with just enough room for a few people. Exclusive and intimate. Sonya already felt a little tipsy but not enough to inhibit her. It'd burn out of her system in no time, but it was all she needed to work up the nerve to do what she had planned next. After all, playful dates were one thing, but a real romantic gesture was something she hadn't done in a long, long time.
She took a deep breath and exhaled through her nose, glancing over at Kado. Sonya herself wore a pale long coat, dark blazer and red dress shirt. Her slacks were pressed and her shoes shined. She reached up and pulled a strand of silver out of her face, reaching over and nudging Kado once; "You aren't drunk already, are you?" She laughed, making it to the base of the stairs leading out and holding out her hand. "I want you to remember where we go next," She said softly, whether or not Kado let her help her down to the level where the limo was waiting.
Atalanta stepped out of the drivers seat and bowed, eyes closed, and opened the rear door for the two women to get inside. Sonya glanced over at her butler; "You know where to go," Sonya said, crossing her legs and shifting to the side to give Kado enough room. She was eager to to show her, but she didn't want to give it away until they got there. Her excitement was palpable even while she did her best to keep a straight face. Sonya smiled wide; "I hope you like it~" She said as the car started to move.

Kado had been more nervous about tonight than anything else she'd done in her life thus far. Okay, maybe it was on par with facing that damned skeleton faced bastard who could not only raise the dead, but decay living organisms around himself... Her arms still twinged now and then with the phantom pains she'd felt from Thorn that day.
She had never been on a date before, at least not a proper mutual one. She'd been hired as an escort before back when she'd lived in Kabukicho, but those had usually been dive restaurants or hostess clubs and the less said and remembered the better. And she had definitely not been to any upscale establishments before either...
For all the money that the shop pulled in, she used most of it paying bills, new seeds, other such supplies, Qiara and Tsune's respective schoolings, and her one indulgence her motorcycle. The rest went into getting ready for a new branch of Eclipsian's to open in Tokyo. So fine dining had never really been on her menu before.
But of course Sonya had decided to take them to a much more cosey place for their dates dinner... almost as if she had known Kado would be way too anxious to enjoy the meal in case she did some kind of social etiquette faux pas. Had she known it was going to be more casual than ornate, she probably wouldn't have come in a slim fitted red cheongsam dress with silver trim and floral patterns. She'd paired it with some sandal style black heels, and had even done her hair up in a long braid that went over her shoulder, with several sakura flowers fitted here and there.
Then again, Sonya's face had been priceless when she'd turned up in her outfit for the evening so... Probably worth it just for that. It felt nice to know she could temporarily break the mask of Japans Number One Villain slash most desired CEO, even if it was just for a moment or two.
As they stepped out into the night air, Kado took in a slow breath before the silver haired woman nudged her. She laughed at her question. "Oh not yet. I learned quite early how to pace myself, with far more alcohol." she began to explain, accepting Sonya's offer of help down the stairs. When they got into the limo, she decided that maybe Sonya could handle a little more explanation. And the limo was a relatively private space, driver not withstanding.
"Eastern Europe. Saint Marta's had me "fostered" by a one-time group calling themselves Grinpis or something like that, a sort of "extreme" version of the more notable organisation." the red head said with a chuckle and shake of her head.
"Whilst I was there, my thirteenth birthday came about... And they all figured it was only proper that I have some drinks as I was a teenager now, and no longer a child." Kado said with a roll of her eyes and another chuckle. "And it was a loooot of drinks. Most of it homebrewed moonshine as well. I'm almost certain at least half of it was straight up paint stripper."
She gave an almost wistful sigh though afterwards. "It was the one time I actually enjoyed being "fostered"... I felt human, even for just one night..." Kado said softly, running a finger across a black onyx ring with some kind of triskelion pattern embedded into the stone on her right hands middle finger. "Got a present as well, as impromptu as it all was... Course the next day it was back to being a Quirk Weapon for an eco-terror group with a control collar." she said with a shrug and a sigh, crossing one leg over the other.
She then smirked and leaned over a little in her seat as she looked into Sonya's eyes. "I could probably drink you under the table as well, even with your Quirk helping you cheat." the red head partially challenged, and partially teased. "So, where are we going?" she asked wondering if by sharing a portion of her history, she'd managed to slip under Sonya's guard enough to make the silver-haired woman's tongue spill the beans.

[attr="class","itsover1"]Sonya eased back into her seat, warming herself a little and letting her neck relax. She shifted only to be able to see Kado while she talked. So she'd been adjusted to alcohol that early on. Kado mentioned that she'd been part of that nightmare called Saint Marta's. It had been a travesty. Fostered by an extremist group too. Where they made sure she drank plenty. Sonya didn't like the sound of it; but for some reason she laughed a little when she described the liquor.
"Sounds like Svyatoy Iliya's," Sonya said thoughtfully, she paused; "My boarding school, pre-undergrad," She clarified, scratching her nose. She quieted down when Kado indicated a black onyx ring on her middle finger; Sonya looked up from the ring and caught Kado looking right back, the two of their gazes locked. Sonya took a breath and then let out a sharp laugh when Kado suggested they compete drinking; "My quirk doesn't help me with that!" She laughed; "...honestly it makes it worse!" She waved her hands; "No, no, my drinking is all natural; pure russian blood in my veins," She said proudly, raising her nose.
Sonya lowered her head and grinned a little when Kado pressed about their destination.
"No no~ Not yet," She said, glancing at the tinted windows around them. These had been designed to shut out the world around them; both ways, if a switch was flipped. Right now neither of them could see outside. That was an important detail; because Sonya wanted this to be perfect.
They rode along for another ten minutes, small talk carrying them most of the way before Sonya saw a green light spring to life on the wall between them and the drivers portion of the vehicle. A moment after that; the car came to a stop. Sonya took a deep breath and held up a finger to her lips; "Let me get the door for you," She said, hurrying to open the door, slip out, and then shut the door behind her. She quickly strode around the car, grabbed the handle; and pulled it open for Kado.
They were in the largest open air garden the red-head had probably ever seen. Massive Sakura trees dotted their immediate area, their enormous trunks bore huge branches of eternally pink leaves that fluttered in the wind. The stone tile path beneath them cut off quickly and was replaced by a sea of flowers and brush; stone formations weaved their way through the plans; separating species that conflicted. Sand garden filled other spots, crossed evenly with bridges that lead into different parts of the enormous place.
"Welcome to Awakazai Imperial Temple and Garden," She said, gesturing around her; "This is a private garden reserved for many of the government ministers and members of the imperial court;" She paused and took Kado's hand; "But tonight, the rare and exotic views are for you and me."

"Boarding school huh? All girls or mixed?" Kado found herself asking, discovering she was a little bit envious of the silver haired woman for even having that kind of experience in life. Saint Marta's didn't exactly have an education program... She was lucky enough to know her numbers and letters from them. Everything else she's had to pretty much self-teach, or Mashu taught her after taking her in...
Although Kado did allow herself a childish pouty face when Sonya wouldn't spill the beans about where she was taking them. Trying to pry secrets out of her... well, she'd had easier times opening canned food without an opener compared to this woman. And she couldn't even try and guess where they were going from the amount of corners and straights the driver had taken either... Not because she didn't have a grasp of directions, no it was more the route itself was completely unfamiliar to her.
Where were they going? It intrigued and annoyed the hell out of the red haired woman that she couldn't even guess where Sonya was taking them, not even a hint or a suggestion from the woman! But the car was reaching a final stop, and her silver haired date wanted to open the door for her. She raised an eyebrow and nodded slowly, deciding to play along for now. If this did turn out to be some sort of overly elaborate trap or ruse, she had enough flowers in her hair to create a roughly dog sized Thorn, give or take...
As she was led out of the car though, Kado's eyes widened at the sight before her. She recognised where she was but couldn't believe it. There was no fucking way... "This... This is..." she said, turning around on the spot slowly, taking in the grandeur of it all, letting it all sink in as she gazed upon it all.
Sonya confirmed it with her next few words, but she still could not believe it. "How..." Kado began to ask, still completely stunned by the whole fact that she was standing right here, in the Imperial Gardens, actually IN the gardens itself. Not on the distant tour paths, no, she was actually INSIDE the gardens!
And Sonya had arranged this for the pair of them somehow... Just for the two of them... The red head struggled to keep herself from blinking as tears began to fill her eyes, unwilling to in case this was all some sort of dream to be snatched away from her the second she closed her eyes for even a moment.
The fact that she had used whatever connections she had in the government, either as Sonya or as Ishtar, to pull this off was not lost on her. The fact that she would use what favours she had though... for a single date... for her... Kado was used to the fact that other people were far better off than her, even before she'd inherited Mashu's business and made it her own. Both Marcie and Sonya were living proof of that, but she still had wanted to try and play their game on equal terms as best she could.
But this... There was no way she would ever be able to even come close to thinking about matching this... Kado slumped to the ground, down onto her knees and wept. Mixed tears of joy and despair. How could she compare herself to this woman, who on a whim could whisk her away to practically the forbidden gardens themselves, at an apparent moments notice... It was all just so overwhelming, her heart and her head felt like they were going to explode from all of it.
The flowers in her hair tore themselves free, undoing the braid she'd woven them into, and her plant-wyvern Quirk Thorn came into being by her unconscious will, nuzzling his head into Kado's chin in an attempt to comfort, soothe and calm his mistresses emotions. The red head sniffed as she petted the creature's head, her mind flashing to what lay within the locket around her neck...
It had been the last gift Mashu had given to her before she'd passed, and only to be opened when the time was right... was this that time? At the start of all this Sonya had just been wanting company and companionship... And Kado was fine with that. But for her to pull off a stunt like this for a single date between them? Was it a sign of Sonya wanting more? Or was she reading too much into it?
Kado's hand clasped itself around the locket, her finger resting on the latch of the ornament around her throat as she contemplated if this was the time... It certainly felt like it could be the place. Where else could compare for such an event? But what if she was wrong? If she... What would it cost if she made a mistake? Not for the first time, she wondered what Mashu would have to say about this, and found herself smiling as she could already hear the old woman's voice in her head.
"Sonya..." she slowly said. "It... It has always been a dream of mine, a wish of mine to come here..." Kado said, remaining on the ground for the time being. "And... you've made that dream, that unspoken wish into a reality tonight..." she said, opening the latch on the locket, letting its precious content slip out into her waiting hand.
"But..." she paused, biting her lips as she braced herself to take the plunge. "I wonder if... If you'll allow me to be a little selfish, and ask you to grant me one more Wish?" asked Kado, looking up into Sonya's glowing pink hued eyes, Kado's own stained red from refusing to blink lest this all vanish from her sight.
She opened her hand slowly to reveal a single ring, with a grouping of diamonds set into the shape of a blooming lotus flower. Slowly, she lifted it up towards Sonya in offering.
