You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
"3:45pm approximately, it's believed the Anti-Quirker Group 'Kyuusekai' stormed the Musutafu mall, capturing several civilians and taking them hostage. 3:48pm First responders arrived on the scene, and soon after were given the demand to publically disavow quirk positive reforms and rescind the Hero program by 5pm, otherwise they would execute one hostage every half hour until their demands are met. The recon we've done tells us they're well organized and funded; they have semi-automatic weaponry, believed to be black market, and their leader is carrying some kind of cutting edge tech; believed to be an anti-quirk prototype…" The earpiece of the ebony enchantress drawling away as she hopped from one building to the next as speedily and stealthily as she could manage, though she was taking in every word that was spoken by the police commander who had called for assistance, the eyes and mind of Maya Murasaki were focused on one thing; the roof ahead of her. Taking a day away from her usual Tokyo patrol route in the hopes of snaring one or two of her apprentices in a little chance to go on a spirited little session with her around their local area and hoping that they could even take the lead given their knowledge of the local area, the aim of the Asian amazon had been put on hold when she heard the call over her radio about a rather significant incident occurring at the local mall, and knew given her experience she was likely to be the best that the association could have offered in response. “Looks like my job's on the line this time, huh~?” Cutting her teeth as a vigilante in these kinds of situations where crude and callous individuals took innocents hostage to try and force peoples hand into giving them what they wanted, while it was a relief for Maya that today her sister wasn't in the middle of a grand opening in Musutafu and rather was off having pictures taken on some exotic island half a world away, that didn't make the situation any less frantic or the feisty femme any less focused either. “Their perimeter still tight?” All business today in spite of the little crack she had made, the martial minx eased her pace as she saw the lower surface of the mall's roof laid out in front of her and took a breath as she concentrated on it to see a weak point, and all while making sure she had the lay of the land as well. After all, when one was a lone agent against many, and there were hostages involved, intel was key. "They're guarding every door and window from what we could tell, and there seem to be more deeper within where the hostages are. There's no way we could get in without risking a bloodbath, but from what we can tell they've left the roof unmanned?" “Heh, sounds like you need a woman on the inside, huh~?” Lucky in that regard that then that the local law enforcement were handling something of a slick operation themselves, perhaps because the world was steadily beginning to get used to the role of the hero and this time the de facto home of them with that academy sitting not all that many blocks away, it seemed they were not only willing but prepared to call in the assistance of the new brand of justice in the word, and that was nice to see really. When lives were on the line, everyone needed to check their ego and pull together. “Lucky for you they haven't given into those demands yet… We've still got time!” Winking as if she thought the man in charge could see her or something as she closed her eyes for a moment and tried to visualize the layout of the building based on the vents she could see from above it, after flashing a quick comment to the cop below her and confirming a lack of obstacles to her entry point Miss Murasaki pushed off the ground with gusto, and looped through the air in a manner that would have probably caught quite number of eyes had she not made sure she was approaching from the most obscure angle possible. A shame, but also a necessity really. "Our people are in place, are you ready, Ultra Violet?" Hair rippling as she inverted her body in a move that allowed her to clear a good couple of stories of height before descending back downward on a dead on course for a spot right next to a vent for what looked like the air conditioning or something, Maya let a slow breath in and loosened her body as she prepared to land, knowing that such a drop was unlikely to hurt her but wanting to be soft for another reason. I wonder if I was a cat in a past life, or something~? The sudden thud above them sure to give the goons beneath her a reason to suspect that something was up had she landed square, instead she allowed each point of contact that she made last the briefest of moments to create the minimum disturbance; touching the floor with each of her hands and then her feet as she rolled along and absorbed the force of the impact throughout her, before skidding to a halt next to the point of access she sought. Once ya pop, ya just can't stop~! Perhaps some clever folk bringing a high speed screwdriver or something for the port but this purple pro knowing she had enough power to not need it at all, Miss Murasaki wrapped her fingers around the grill that guarded her entry and wrenched it away with simple application of force like she was peeling an orange, or opening a can of beans with a handy little pull. “Entering now, be ready to move on my signal!” Barking into her ear piece again the moment she was done and then vaulting into the vent a second later, the girl plunged into the darkness without even a wasted moment or a single breath the second she had spoken, knowing that every second might just be the difference between life and death for someone. She had to be careful now, but also very quick…

Casper's heart had been pounding in his chest ever since this all started. His back was against the wall and his vision was more than a little blurry as he just stared out against the wall ahead of him. What had been a pleasant day at the mall, grabbing some snacks on the way home from school, was now a hostage situation with him in the middle of it. He and a small group of other patrons who hadn't managed to escape had been locked down into the foodcourt area of the minimall. He'd heard they weren't the only collection of hostages and they might soon be pulled to the foodcourt to collect them all in one spot... after that who knows. He hadn't managed to hear any of them talking about their demands but... well suffice to say, they were definitely gonna be using the lot of them as leverage... and leverage was only effective if you followed through.
His chest was tight and he didn't know what to do... a hero would come and save them right? Y-yeah... yeah... but what if they didn't? N-no they... they would... but...
He looked down to his zip ties that were holding his wrists together, another long, slow, deep breath trying to refocus himself. The man guarding them had stepped away to keep his walkie-talkie conversation as private as he could. Casper hadn't pushed his strength for a long time but...
Okay. He wasn't a hero. But if there WAS a hero he could help! H-he could at least direct them to the hostages. With another sharp breath to steel his nerves, a thin aura coated his limbs and he wrenched them apart, the zip tie snapping in time with a faked cough. He made sure to catch it before he ended up leaving it behind, and with the same aura coating his legs he shoved off the ground and darted under some of the foot tables, scurrying out from the food hall, trying to find some way to alert people as to what was going on... if there was a hero in here they'd already be on the move afterall... just stick low, keep his eyes wide, most of the criminals were bound to be lazing off the deeper they were in the building. Afterall, they'd be expecting the assault to come from the windows right so... j-just keep moving! It was too late to second guess he just needed to find someone!

You sure you can keep up with a woman like me~?
❝ Good job I'm watching my figure huh~? A short and sharp sigh escaping the lips of the ebony haired enchantress as she squirmed her way through a space which felt about as roomy as a kid's lunchbox, while she would readily acknowledge the fact that the old action movie favourite of the crawl through the air ducts was really rather useful when one wished to be sneaky, it was certainly not the most comfortable way to get around, that was for sure. I'd hate to get my ass stuck or something… Practically feeling like she was dragging herself down the inside of one long cheese grater and that without considering the obstacle which was the fan blades dotted around the place, while luckily it seemed the police forces had managed to make those in particular less of a whirling danger for herself by deactivating the ventilation systems, that didn't stop Maya from feeling about as squished as a sardine in a can or hot as hell as well, and not in the usual way when it came to the latter either. Maybe I should have called in Kanna or one of the others? This would probably have been a lot easier with more than one pair of hands? Certainly relieved when she finally managed to find her way to her first grill in the structure and get her first look at the scene that surrounded her, though the method she was using was as close to tried and tested in her book as anything could, Miss Murasaki couldn't help but think maybe she needed to adopt a new set of tactics to suit her new status, though honestly had some misgivings in that area really. Not sure if they have the finesse yet though? It's like walking a tightrope… One slip up, and either you or someone else pays big for it? Confident in herself and plenty assured of her apprentices as well by this point but even the badass blonde she thought of feeling like she might be just a little bit of a loose cannon when it came to a matter like this, it was basically like trying to walk across eggshells in the dark whilst wearing cuffs on all ones limbs, and as such was something she felt reluctant to take the risk when things were as delicate as they were now. Maybe the sort of thing to test in training, rather than risk on a first time field experience? Lucky for me I'm pretty practiced in that kinda thing~ Fortunately for the folks inside the purple pro more than a dab hand when it came to delicacy like this, one she was sure that she had picked a nice quiet spot to descend from the dark dish slipped free from her hidden transit system to no shortage of relief inside herself, and then dropped to the ground with nary a sound before setting about her business. The task today was one where Maya needed rack up as big a hit count as she could without being caught, she needed to move fast and hit hard, but most of all remain undetected for as long as she could. Sure she was strong and tough enough that she could probably take out a decent squad of quirkless fools reasonably quickly if she rushed them en masse, but thanks to the principle which was known as collateral, that would have likely proved a disaster. So stealth and strength were both needed, combined with the know-how of when to make the most of each. So many of them though, I wonder if I can take them all out before they notice…? Case in point the example of a swaggering soul who stuffed a small smoking stick into his mouth and was far too occupied by the latter to really notice the fact that a young woman had concealed himself in the shadow provided by a nice sharp corner ahead of him, Miss Murasaki felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end one by one as those steps drew nearer and nearer, and leapt into action like a coiled cobra to take him down in an instant. Maybe the mook managing to get a glimpse of her but that likely to be the last thing he saw for a good long while as she drove the sheath of the sword she had pulled into her hands up and hooked his jaw with just enough pressure to break it and send him into sleepy town before he could cry out and alert anyone else, the black beauty let out a smooth and sharp breath as she took control of his form and removed the weapon he was carrying, before ducking down to make sure he wasn't going to be a problem from here on out. And that's when she saw it. Wait, what's that…?! Moving into a squatting position and binding the wrists of the fool behind his back, just as Maya flung the fool over her shoulder with a mind to tuck him somewhere out of sight she spied something coming toward her, and instantly braced because of it, expecting to have a fight on her hands as her heart sank a little for a second or two, before she saw who she was looking at. A kid…? What's he doing here? The shape small and pretty scrawny to look at if she was honest, though the feisty femme froze for a second on instinct upon her recognition of a strange, she quickly realized that what or rather whom she was looking at didn't seem to be that much of a threat from the looks of things. Really hoping he doesn't lead 'em right to me… Pausing because of that and narrowing her eyes for a moment as she wondered what she should do with this unexpected development, though really there was only one appropriate response, and as such a moment later Miss Murasaki could be found putting her finger on her lips to ask for discretion before beckoning the lad to come closer to her. He was a wildcard right now, and that was something the situation couldn't abide, so she needed to get him under control as much as she did any of her enemies…

Casper grew more paniced the further he got from the center of the foodcourt. The less chance he had to just rush back and pretend his wrists were tied if he regretted his decision, the sparser the tables got to use for cover, and the less he knew about the patrol routes the criminals were taking trying to keep this place covered. Sure most of them were facing outward, keeping eyes on the police surrounding the place but that didn’t make him any less nervous. A step on a creaky floortile, a slip and a squeak of his sneakers, outright just tripping and landing on his face between the tables. As far as he was concerned that was life or death. Even if they were gonna stick to the deadline they gave for taking hostage lives, it could easily move him to the top of the list…
He paused under a desk between the edge of the food court and the rest of the minimall, pressing his back up against the single pole that connected the table to the floor and clutching at where his heart lay against his shirt. His other hand tightly clasped around his mouth so his heavy, paniced breathing didn’t give him away…. W-what even was his plan again? He never planned to clash with the villains, he wasn’t strong enough, and that was vigilante work, a line he didn’t ever wanna cross. Was he planning to try and get outside? P-probably not… t-then why did he even move? He just put himself and everyone else held here in more danger by-!
THUNK
He was drawn sharply through his own thoughts by a soft yet.. firm sound of something getting hit. His wide, dreading eyes peered around the corner and spotted the sight of one of the criminals going down, from his view under the table he didn’t see much for that specific instance, legs rising out of his vision before the person fell into a crouch, his eyes just as wide but his pupils growing to join them as fear turned somewhat towards hope. U-ultraviolet! And she noticed him! Deadly situation or not this was still enough to lift the kid’s heart into his throat, choking on his attempts to make words all the same but almost more ‘pleasantly’ as he choked up on the idea of a hero actually coming to save them all. Without much need for her guidance, he looked left and right, making sure no one else was close by before darting out of his cover and into Ultra Violet’s space. Even coming in close to her… he wasn’t sure what to say, a mix of awe on his face and still the ever present tenseness the fear of this situation created. He tried to think of what to say, what to tell her, if he should even say anything but… all he could do was swallow back his nerves, and keep his breathing under control, his wide eyes speaking for him.
‘Tell me what you need me to do, Hero’.

❝ Is he afraid, or awestruck…? Sensing a certain sense of hesitation or nervousness in the face of the youngster she lingered in front of him, still on edge herself but guessing that was something he had in spades, for a few seconds the sable siren did not know if the young man before her was going to faint or burst into song, but hoped it was somewhere in the middle of those two. I'd like to think the latter~ Hoping that the fact that what she had just done and her image as the number nine hero might have helped even a lad like this show recognition for the fact that she was here to help rather than harm him, though her star was still rising so to speak she reckoned she was just the sort of badass bitch that a boy like this might have a poster on his wall of, after all; she was that right mix of hot and heroic, and in the mind of Miss Murasaki she was the best option of all the top ten for a teenager to nursing a little bit of a crush upon. “It's OK kid, stay calm, you're safe now, I'm here~” Glad when it seemed he wasn't going to run away or shout or do anything else which might have drew them undue attention but rather move closer to her with a modest show of trust and recognition for her status, Maya could tell that he was very tense for one reason or another so she offered a kind set of softly spoken words to reassure him and even softly clapped her hand onto his shoulder as well, hoping to keep him quiet and as relaxed as she could until they got somewhere a little safer and more secure. “Follow me, this way~” That aim upon her mind as she placed her finger on her lips again and then nodded in the direction of a clothes shop nearby, the ebony empress set off toward it on her softest set of steps while supporting the weight of the enemy she had taken out rather effortlessly with one arm whilst the other held both his gun and her sword, and moved along at a brisk pace whilst trying to keep herself as low as possible and make sure the boy was following her. Good, looks like there's nobody about~ Pausing in a half-crouched position when she finally reached that doorway and letting that sharp set of eyes she had scan the room to make sure there wasn't a guard lingering inside, after weaving through the rails the young woman winked at the lad to encourage him to follow her before hitting the back of the store, and spying something which would hopefully prove quite useful to her. “Nice and quiet here, just let me…” A row of open doors presenting themselves as changing rooms and a nice spot of cover for the young heroine and the folk she had brought with her, in a slightly louder voice the violet eyed vixen stepped away from her young ward for a moment to plonk her captive in one of the rooms, and then ripped the magazine from his gun and tossed it lightly among one of the heaps of clothing nearby to limit the impact it could have from here on out. “Come in here with me…” Still concerned about the little fella she had found within but at the very least glad to have spotted a place she could stow him safely for the time being without someone finding him, once she had hung the remainder of the rifle on a clearance rack just to be cheeky Miss Murasaki smirked and swept the hand of the youngster into her own, and then tugged him into one of the empty changing rooms with her. “So, what's your name, kid?” Perhaps it rather a thrilling prospect in another circumstance to be towed into a private space like this with a lovely looking lass like this one but this not the time and place for that, though she doubted she would have much time before she needed to start taking out more of the goons within the purple pro wanted to make sure that the lad was safe and as happy as he could be with what was going on, and also reckoned he might be able to offer an insight into what was going on here as well if he had slipped away from the bad guys to boot…

With ultraviolet’s attempted reasurances Casper tried to play his own part in this situation and just calm the hell down, his breathing a little quick still but managing to make sure it was quiet enough not to be a big issue. He’d nod along at her reassurances that everything was gonna be fine and that he was safe, and easily enough he was able to believe her. Afterall, UV was one of the newer heroes on the block but she already managed to get into the top ten ranking in the latest polls. Must have some reputation to deserve a spot like that right? Should he mention he had a poster of her in his room? N-no that’d be weird and this really wasn’t the time. He felt like he should at least say SOMETHING as hushed as he may have to keep it, but the decision mash up just seemed to end up with him letting out an oddly confused gurgle of a sound as he struggled to think of something to say and keep it quiet at the same time, quickly blushing in embaressment and lowering his head as he stuck to a low crouch and followed after her as she ordered. “Y-yes ma’am.”
With the woman leading him to one of the clothing stores he wondered if he was just going to be stuck in the back in one of the manager’s stations or something, or to just hide in a pile of clothes till everything blew over. He was a small guy so he doubted it’d be very hard to find enough clothes to bury him in without looking too out of place, maybe just stick him at the bottom of a bargain bin of clothes or something. He snapped out of it however when he came closer to realizing her actual intent was to find a place she could store the criminal she’d taken down, jolting back a little at the sharp metallic sound of the magazine being ejected so quickly. It may have really just been a tender ‘click’ before it dropped into her other hand but he was so on edge it almost sounded off like a gunshot in his head, looking around to make sure they weren’t heard before realizing the clothing store didn’t seem to have many patrols around it besides the guy she’d taken down, sighing in relief and nodding along as he was told to follow her further, blushing a bit as she took his hand, though more out of just the general flustered nature of having any girl hold his hand, let alone a knockout of a pro hero.
He was a little thankful for his smaller size when they slipped into the cramped space of one of the changing rooms together, trying to keep his breaths slow and calm, looking back up to her as she asked his name, swallowing back a fresh lump in his throat. “C-casper Ma’am…” He simply replied. “S-sorry for sneaking around… I know I should have stayed put but… w-well they only had us in zip ties and I thought… m-maybe if I got away I could help direct people to the rest of the hostages? I-it was stupid of me, I’m really sorry…”

❝ “Casper, huh? Nice to meet you, I’m Maya~” It seeming pretty much impossible for anyone with a pair of eyes and even the scantest hint of empathy to note how shaken the kid was now that he had a chance to relax and breathe properly, the feisty femme could eagerly forgive the stammer in his voice and general sense of anxiety he was giving off in this moment, and did what she could to lighten the mood and help him forget a little bit of the terror he was probably feeling right now. “You got away from them? Wow, good job kid!” Grinning when he admitted the fact that he had managed to rescue himself from the bad guys, while she didn’t know the whole story the martial minx still felt impressed by that very feat, and opted to overlook any legal implications or lapses he perceived in his judgement because he looked so terrified of what might happen to him in case someone found out. “Heh, we’ll worry about that stuff later, OK? What matters is you’re safe, and you found me, OK?” Leaning forward and prodding the nose of the lad in order to draw his attention away from any issues that prickled at his sensitivity and instead opting to see the bright side in what was going on, while Miss Murasaki didn’t exactly want to condone the idea of children playing action heroes what was done was done in her book, and she focused on the result of his deed instead of the route through which he took it. “Besides, with you here it makes my job a lot easier. How do you fancy teaming up with me, so we can take them down together?” Never all that prone to getting lost in negativity anyway and even in trying circumstance like these the sort who liked to see the proverbial glass as half way full at a minimum, while she guessed that a million billion things were likely going through the mind of the youngster right now the sable siren did what she could to take his attention away from them and onto something more constructive, which ultimately would be for both their benefit given the state they were in. “Hahahaha, don’t worry I’ll do all the fighting and stuff so you don’t get in trouble, hell you might even get a medal or a key to the city or something if this works out right…?” Chuckling softly as she guessed that her first statement might have been something scary and quickly making sure that he knew all too clearly that his place in this collaborative effort would not be one which saw him putting himself in any kind of peril, the vivid violet vision of the vixen tightened as she also pointed out that she did not plan to get him in trouble, far from it really, and hoped to encourage him to offer up what he could in the spirit of good citizenship and heroism and all that good stuff. “But having you here can definitely help me, help me to know what those guys are about and where the hostages are? It’d really save my ass if you can tell me anything about what’s been happening in here, so I get a proper idea of what I’m up against?” Moving back to the door of the changing room for a moment as she continued to make sure things were still quiet outside, once she had done so Maya clarified what she needed from the boy in order to move forward, and hoped he could give her something useful to carry out her mission. After all, she had a man on the inside here, and would be likely to give up details of the incident a lot more willingly and ably than the fool she had dumped in the other room, that was for sure…
