Sometimes life felt like it was upside down, one moment it looked fine and the next it was everything but fine. How did you know what to do and continue when the consequences were so out of proportion and scary? She sometimes did not know, wanted to stay close to her home, close to her kin and do nothing else. That's however not how the world works. You couldn't do that without being self-producing or have a husband that did not need to be in the gym every working hour they had. Leaving her son in the capable hands of Shizuka, Hanako had decided to do the groceries now, go home, have everything ready and come back to the gym. This is exactly why she hired an assistant and that the jobs were now filled again with the students was only the more useful so Shizuka would not have to be everywhere.
Just when the young woman put the bags with groceries in the back of the car she heard a high pitched sound. Hanako closed the door and looked around to see where it came from, nothing to see. Should she go or should she check it out? But when she heard the sound for a second time it was more clear where it came from and gave her a pretty good guess what it was. There was a dumpster nearby and Hanako slowly walked towards it. Keeping eyes and ears open to see if she would hear the sound or see the creature that made the sound. It was kind of clear what it was and when she found the white, with orange and black cat she smiled a little. They had a little puppy but Koko wasn't so little anymore and this cat was maybe just about one as well. "Hello there stranger, what are you doing?" She said, hunching down and making sure her skirt was sitting alright when she would just sit there. The little creature's eyes looked at her, they were golden instead of green and really pretty. The cat looked a little dusty but seemed to be not too thin or anything that would give Hanako an idea that it was a stray. Or maybe this cat was really smart and knew how to take care of herself and her fur and to get food. Staying near a supermarket, that was probably a very smart thing to do. She smiled, lowered her hand even though she had no snacks but she would see what the cat would do. She would see if she would come to her soon and just realized she had already given the cat a gender. Was it not her mother that once told her that red cats were almost always male and the trio coloured ones female? Maybe, Hanako did not like to reminiscence of the past, it wasn't important. "Let me see you." She said in a soft voice that she used for the puppy and for her baby as well. Just making sure the cat did not think of her as someone dangerous.
Eventually, Hanako was more patient than she ever had been and the cat awarded her for that, moving towards her and finally curling around her hips as she was hunched down but ignoring her hand. Cats always a bit peculiar but amazing at the same time. Such smart creatures, "Isn't it dangerous here for you with all the cars?" Finally Hanako could pet the little thing, and rub her under her chin and smile at her. It was cute how it, in the end, flopped itself on the payment and let Hanako pet her. Hm, if only she had some food to give, maybe that's why it stayed near the dumpster to get food? Hana looked around to see if there was someone here or something? Would the supermarket feed the kitten? She wasn't entirely sure, it looked slightly dusty but not that bad and she petted it so the sand would get off. "Hmm," Hana said softly while musing over what to do or say. Maybe she shouldn't worry, it could not be all that bad if she looked alright? She watched the cat as she heard the sound of quick footsteps and the cat's ears perked up, but she did not move away from Hanako's hand or hide underneath the dumpster again. Maybe the mewing was a sound to indicate she was hungry. In the end, she skittered off right before someone showed up next to Hanako. Hana quickly stood up and looked at the woman that was about her age and size, "Sorry, I thought I just... I just saw you petting a cat and I am missing mine, she hasn't been home for a while." Hana blinked in surprised and looked at the dumpster with a raise eyebrow. The woman looked with her and made a soft squeal sound and hunched down. Compared to Hanako before, the cat came immediately and did not ignore her hand but seemed to be ready to be cuddled. "She escaped you see and we live in a complex so she probably couldn't have come back in. I have waited for three days." Oof that must be very harsh and the cat had probably smelled something nice and had no idea how to get back home. Hanako smiled, she had not done anything special but she was glad the cat could go home and thus she waved goodbye to the cute little face when the woman carried her off. Very interesting how a day could go. She turned back to her car and would quickly drive home. A cat was nothing for them, that's for sure. She was greeted by her little dog and hugged Koko tightly, "Hm, you are everything I need aren't you." She laughed softly before trying to get the groceries and be prepared to go back, she could take Koko with her, might even be better for the two of them. First a little walk, then they would see next.
