It was a pretty nice and relaxing day just how Benjiro liked it he wasn't a fan of gloomy weather he likes the occasional rain so he could sit down and read a story but besides that he preferred to sunny weather. He would get alot more customers on nicer days which was mildly concerning seeing as it met kids wanted to be inside but more money for him so he didn't worry all too much about it.
Benjiro spent his morning like he usually would drinking his straight black coffee and plain toast just how he liked it followed by reading the news which was same old same old some crazy criminal doing something and some supposed hero saving the day. He found it kind of silly it used to be just the police really stopping people none of this hero stuff not that he really hates it though just weird to him.
He let out a sigh while reading the news he really wasn't a fan of how violent crimes are so frequent these days sure it happened before but not as often. He had wondered how his old colleagues were handling all of this alot of the older ones were never really fans of quirk though possibly beacuse they didn't have any themselves.
Benjiro decided he'd head down to his arcade now though he was expecting talking to his step son today and try and get closer to him as he still felt a little awkward being around him though he was sure he'd get used to him soon. He was used to being a dad to one rowdy son so he would just try what he did with Ichigo hopefully it'd work.
He let out a sigh apparently it was going to be a slow day at least he made enough to get by so he wasn't too worried but he wished he'd be able to do better. "I wish I'd get more customers..."

The spicy boy with seasonal flames would opt to stay home some times and despite being a low key rebel, he didn't haul that shit on his Not Dad-san's list of problems. Got all the paperwork sorted and ready to go so that the hero school wouldn't try to accuse him of sneaking out or anything like that. Especially when he wasn't, all he was trying to do is be there for his old man of a guardian or whatever the fuck, he was a cool guy and used to be a cop according to their mom so eh. Whenever they'd wanna pin the blame on him for some of the stupid shit he did like breaking curfew to enjoy the night sky or nature in the evening when it was nice and cool, that was fine since it was less on his not dad and more on his own head. [break][break] Hell, he'd completely own up to it whenever the day came that they caught him, but at least he didn't break curfew for bad shit...just being stir crazy and a mighty need to enjoy the night outdoors. Plus, he stayed away from the cigarettes when he was hanging out at home. That was another thing he really didn't want linked up to Not Dad-san in the event shit caught up to him, especially since from what he read on those papers, Not Dad-san was the one in charge of him whenever he stayed home and away from the dorms. Crazy how he actually gave such a huge shit about it...especially with how aloof and catty he had a tendency to be, still...guy was a good kid at the core. Stretching a bit, he fixed and adjusted his glasses soon after while casually strolling down the stairs in a suit without the jacket, like a nice dress shirt, tie, vest, slacks and snazzy shoes with a pair of gloves on...almost like he was working security low key. [break][break] For now, he worked between here at Not Dad-san's shop and that Italian place, Osteria dei Mascalzone...he wanted to invite the family over so that maybe they could have a proud point in his general direction. Like shit, he was trying, man! Staying at the school to force himself to have a more strict set of guidelines for himself and not fighting it when he got caught for stupid shit. It probably came off as kinda dumb, but he needed to learn the hard way to get his shit together in some aspects to say the least. "Sup Not Dad-san, ya need help 'round the shop today or ya good...?" Locking up the upstairs area and stuffing the keys into his pocket, the blue haired teen with red cat-like eyes let out a low whistle, "Ah damn my guy, this is hella slow..."[break][break] Looking around, the place, it was pretty freaking empty...save for the regular who was hellbent on keeping their top score. Scratching the back of his head, he trailed his gaze over to Not Dad-san and...geeze...he seemed kinda down. Giving off a half smirk, he figured that maybe it would be a good effort to lighten the mood! "Eyyy, think it's slow enough for me to bake somethin' in between customers?" Benjiro was glad at least the people trying to beat their high scores were around they would never disappoint him he did wonder if maybe he should get some newer games or something but he had alot of the classics so he wasn't sure. He had alot of wonderful games like Alley fighter 2, Pacwoman the classics though maybe he needed something new like those weird machines that let you play mobile gacha games on a bigger screen like that wyvern orb heroes or whatever it was called.
Regardless he did find himself skimming over a catalog of arcade cabinets seeing if any real stood out to him but he really loved the classics even if the machines could be in a museum their so old. He soon could hear his step son talking to him he did his class not dad which honestly didn't bother Benjiro it was better then saying something mean or something. Sounded like he was offering help then soon commenting on how empty it was which made Benjiro let out a sigh in slight frustration but he'd respond to Basil regardless.
"Perhaps you can help with something do you know of any new or popular games? I have the time to look for new ones considering the slowness today."
He looked back at his catalog he kind of doubted any real disturbances could happen in his store today not enough people to argue with each other over something silly. he could soon hear basil speaking again asking to bake in between customers it was an interesting idea he didn't particularly mind so he decided he may aswell give some permission to him. "Hmm I suppose that'd be fine just clean up after yourself and try not to make too big of a mess alright?"
He usually didn't mind that kind of stuff he was actually used to it though he did wonder if Basil would go over board on spices or not but he wouldn't worry about that he was going to find some fun and exciting games to buy for the store.

Curiosity danced about in his eyes like a cat having a toy dangled before its fluffy little face. Benjiro began to think to himself Corridors of Fury huh? He flipped through to see if he could find the page on it and it was in his price range sounded like a good buy to attract some new business perhaps he decided to mark it down with a small note reminding him to give them a call about installing the machine in his store.
He then gave a warm smile to Basil and decided to thank him for the good idea. "Ah Thank you for that sounds like a splendid game to add to the arcade." He then had to think for a moment about the air hockey he did in fact order it and made the space for it all he really had to do was set it up which he just never really got around too seeing as he was older and it was kind of a pain to setup especially since the company he ordered it from was supposed to do it for him.
"Well about that it's here just not set up the company I ordered from sent some younger men who didn't want to help set up so just kind of sitting in storage at the moment." He would love if it could be setup besides customers it'd likely help out Ichigo and Basil let off some steam after a rough day of classes also harder for Ichigo to break then his other machines.
He really should learn to fix this stuff on his own though to save money since the older machines break down every once in awhile either from old age or a certain son being far too rough with the poor machines. He kept flipping through the book though and soon found himself at a section saying adding a small kitchen to an arcade might help with business perhaps he should get like a slushy machine or something maybe even a small grill he actually had some room aswell. A corner near the counter he could get some walls put up and it'd make a big enough sized room for a small kitchen. "Hmm maybe I should get a small kitchen added in aswell would you be interested in being a fry cook by any chance Basil?"

Benjiro made sure to keep an eye on how Basil responded to the air hockey thing wondered if he'd get a fit of anger or something over the lazy company and their failing to set up the machine. He could soon hear a nearly swear which did cause Benjiro to raise an eyebrow but thankfully he was glad his son remembered all the kids and changed to a poop versus what he would have said. He had a feeling the mood would change fairly quickly with his mention of a fry cook though since he was never a fan on staying on dreadful topics very long and he was a busy man so he liked getting things sorted fairly quickly. He was glad to hear Basil's response though since it meant he would only have to hire a janitor now who are much easier to deal with then hiring a cook would be. "Splendid that makes things easier and of course you can handle the menu I can give you a budget once I get it installed I trust you to do a good job."
Benjiro then went back to looking at his catalogue he'd respond if Basil had anything more to say but otherwise he'd look over his choices for stuff to buy or install into his arcade. Benjiro also decided he'd send a quick message to Ichigo telling him he and Basil had to install an air hockey machine later on in the day.

There was an appeal in that, even the blue haired teen could acknowledge and appreciate that! Looking around, he ran his hand through his hair and kinda wanted to cook a bunch of cupcakes and decorate them to look super cute in an effort to calm the hell down. Yet at the same time, he kinda wanted to invite Not Dad-san to maybe...bond and hang out with him a bit more? Benjiro was happy with his not son's reaction he seemed genuinely pleased with himself at being given the option to be a cook vs the other awful job's he normally get's around the arcade it made sense and he was a good cook so hopefully some new customers would come in just for the food. He then gave a gentle smile to basil and began to say a few kind words to the response "That's good to hear I'm looking forward to you treating customers to wonderful cooking."
Benjiro usually had fairly bland taste but even he had to admit on the time's he actually had proper meals Basil was a fantastic cook and nurturing that talent would help him in the future as an adult. It would also help Basil get some lady's since women love a man who can cook good. He then could tell basil was going to head off to do his work now when he told him to text him when the budget was sorted out something he could easily do so he gave a nod and a smile to Basil. Benjiro soon began to turn to the computer he had sitting on his front desk he'd begin to write down budgeting info to see how much he had. This computer wasn't the newest but it got the job done the job in this case being budgeting which wasn't too bad he seemed to actually be doing really good on money this year so he could splurge abit could be more then just burgers and fries maybe get some salad's, hotdogs maybe nacho's and cheese. Benjiro was fairly masterfully going through the list quickly seeing how much he could actually afford to give Basil for funding. Within minutes he began to text Basil the budget he had planned and it was pretty good it leaves a small bit of room for experimentation but nothing super fancy.
