Jasmine heaved a somewhat anxious breath as she sat on the bed of her hotel room. The little encounter she had with Rowan in the onsen had been... surprising, to say the least. She couldn't tell her who surprised her more: Rowan for what she said, or Jasmine herself for deciding she'd follow through. It wasn't because Rowan was somehow unattractive. Hell no. Jasmine considered her easy on the eyes ever since she first saw her. That and the other explosion user was... well, just all around a good girl and a friend. Sure, she had her flaws, but who didn't right? No, the reason Jasmine was surprised with herself was because of her own baggage.
What Jasmine was afraid of was that her own demons would come back to bite not only her in the ass, but Rowan too. Her previous relationships hadn't exactly ended on a high note, least of all the last one. Hell the wolf wasn't even sure she fully recovered yet. How could she given what Rin meant to her?
Yet, at the same time, Rin's nagging voice was exactly the voice she heard in the back of her head telling her to move on. The little raven surely wouldn't want Jasmine staying in a rut for the rest of her life. She knew this. Heck, even Mosa urged her to try forming new connections and strengthening the ones she currently had. The whole problem was that Jasmine didn't think she'd given herself enough time to recover, to process, to... heal.
The silver haired girl checked the phone tossed at her side. It was already past nine o'clock. Time wasn't waiting for her. Nobody was. The thought made her stomach churn.
In one swift motion Jasmine slapped her cheeks with her palms. Why shouldn't she try something new? How could she know that shit was going to definitively go south? Far as she was aware this could have just been her paranoid nature at work trying to get her to avoid any form of happiness at all costs. She couldn't even remember how many times Rin had told her off for that and urged her to do what would make her happy.
She shook her head and smiled.
Pocketing her phone in the pocket of her denim short shorts, Jasmine quickly slipped into a black hoodie, her long shirt plopping down at the edges, partially covering her clothed butt. The girl swayed her head about to get her hair clear as she pulled the hood up loosely over her head, strands of silver hair flowing down, a few bangs covering her eyes, before shoving her feet inside her worn black leather combat boots and tightening the laces.
One quick glance over her room and she was off. Rowan had told her which room she was in after Jasmine's little, uh... stunt with Kai. The memory made her chuckle a little. Before long the wolf found herself in front of Rowan's room, staring at the door. What doubts she still had were pushed to the back of her mind to the best of her ability before she knocked on the door twice.
"Hey... Rowan? It's Jaz. You, uh... you wanna go for a walk?"

"You are the most unreasonable human being in the world."
Her reflection stared at her with big purple eyes that could not hide the tear in the corners of them. She felt like she should despise herself, how could she say that? I wouldn't say no to that. Who was she kidding? Surely she wouldn't have said no to Jasmine at any other time in the world, in her life but now? She broke... she broke up with Sean just recently, she broke his heart, this wasn't fair to herself and most of all to him. Because for heaven's sake she couldn't keep up with his life and her own and now she said yes to Jasmine?! JASMINE?! How did it end up here, she remembered the flirty comments, it just started to feel like normal that Jaz would tease her and she did not think, heck she was dating last time she saw her or the year before anyway it did not matter she... she blushed and turned away from her reflection with a pout. The most difficult person about this was simply herself. There was nothing going on right? There was nothing wrong with saying she wouldn't have said no and just talking about it tonight as Jasmine has put it in the hot springs, wasn't going to make disasters either. How come... she did not dare to ask her this question but why did anyone ever like her? She never felt like she liked herself, heck she was the one with the split persona and yet Jasmine knew about that, might not be that she remembered much but she never seemed to have walked away from her which meant something. Would this stop making her feel disgusting? Because Rowan has had this period that she couldn't even look at her reflection without feeling... dirty. In the sense of being covered in mud although rather her nightmares were blood, she had never done that and it had never gone so far but she was just... just that... scared and even if she controlled her power, it was still fire.
And what do you wear on a "we talk about what you said and what wasn't said thing." She was normally a person that would dress to the nines but she was trying to stop looking like a rich kid and more like a human being that could count on herself when necessary. She wanted to be a hero and not a snob. She was wearing an easy summer dress though, It was a soft pink and just was easy to wear at hot summer days like this. Her long black hair was tied in a ponytail and she just didn't fix anything extra on her make-up, mascara and eyeliner were fine right? Lipgloss or something or... stop fidgeting. She jumped up and almost let out a squeal when she heard the knocking, thank god Jasmine wouldn't hear it.
She quickly opened the door and tried to look as normal as possible (that's very difficult when you are hyper aware of trying to do so) "H-hi and sure."

If Jasmine didn't know any better, she could've sworn she heard something the moment she knocked on her door. Whatever it was the lass couldn't hear it properly so she quickly let it go in favor of just waiting for the door to be opened. When it did, though? Honestly Jaz felt like she'd been too obvious in the once over she gave Rowan.
Rowan, who, for all intents and purposes, looked absolutely astonishing.
Was it always like that? Or did the rose-colored tints already drop atop her nose? She couldn't really tell you, but frankly she didn't even care at this point. Even if these were the pink shades of woe, she could live with it if she got to see a sight like this more often.
A warm smile tugged Jasmine's lips upwards. It even felt like a something akin to a bubbly warmth had poked her in the chest, though whether or not that was true the wolf couldn't -- and wouldn't -- confirm. "Hi cutie," Jasmine said, her hands behind her back as she leaned forward a bit. She had this curious need to glance over Rowan's shoulder and check her room out but by the Gods she couldn't keep her emerald greens off of her!
"Aw, did you get all dressed up for little ol' me? Should've told me, I would've worn something more appealing than a worn hoodie!" The ashen haired lass teased, her hand gently touching Rowan's arm instead of her usual tap or poke. A soft chuckle rolled off her lips, "You look great!"
"So... shall we?" Jasmine asked, taking a few steps backwards, her eyes not once leaving the other girl. "There's this mountain trail in the woods nearby - leads right into a mountain trail. Beautiful views, especially now since it looks like we're lucky and there ain't a cloud in the sky!" She'd explain, and the two of them would likely chit-chat on their way outside of the spa hotel.
The moment they were outside, Jasmine would nod her head in a direction and the two girls would slowly make their way along the lamp-lit sidewalk, a car or two passing by here or there. Jasmine's hands were in the pockets of her hoodie, eyes staring forward as she seemed lost in thought for the briefest of moments.
"How'd you like the onsen?" She ask, realizing it had gotten a little too quiet. "Personally would've preferred a little less people there. Can't say I didn't enjoy it, though. Especially when you came in," she teased, a small, sly grin painting her features.

She brushed the loose strains of hair still behind her ear, it was okay... it was good reaction, even if she wasn't dressed to the nines if she would say so herself. But Jasmine well she gave her a once over and just looked and she hoped it wasn't that okay but that it looked just good, right? Why did it bother her so much, she had to be honest and hold off right? It wouldn't be fair to anyone, she wasn't sure if she would be able to say that easily. Though she felt a big blush come on her face and Jasmine had not even teased her yet and she liked how casual the other girl could look. She wished she could pull that off.
Was Jasmine blushing too? She looked up when the girl called her a cutie and a direct smile appeared on her face. "Hey." She couldn't help but repeat herself with saying another hi but she smiled and tried to let go of her own shy status. Her room would be a mess of clothes right now but she was normally very clean. "I like your worn hoodie, don't worry." She was actually proud she managed to get that amount of words out of her mouth. "Thank you" But again she did not know how to compliment Jasmine about the cute looking outfit she wore, the casualty was actually really pretty, it looked good on her.
She nodded to come along and would smile again at Jasmine and would close the door behind her and look up. A-a mountain trail? Oh god... thank god for the training with Shockwave. "I like that. I am clumsy with mountain trails but I will see." Honesty, that's what she wanted right? Would this be easier because they were the same student from the same school and their tough stuff was clear, right? Too many questions and she took a deep breath and would follow the trail and she looked around, it was pretty with the lamp-lit sidewalk and she would just look around, this was still so new to her.
"Oh, yea I agree, a little busy but it was relaxing, something I could use once in a while." She blushed again and looked up, "Was it obvious I came to join your side then?" She smirked a little, she could do this, she could tease back when they did the Fort Slog run, then she can do this now as well.

"Don't worry malady. I promise I'll catch you if you fall," Jasmine offered as she glanced back, a sly wink and a giggle accompanying her words. The two of them had walked along the sidewalk of the street for a few brief moments of silence, though not at all awkward. It was strange, really. Jasmine had always felt something akin to peace whenever she hung out with Rowan. While the two of them obviously had very different upbringings, Jasmine reckoned it was because their quirks were so similar, in a way. The mere idea that, somewhere down the line, both of them encountered very similar challenges in terms of their quirks brought a strange type of solace to the forefront. She couldn't really explain it.
After a few moments the two girls finally turned to the side, onto a different pathway. This one was a rough and old, yet nicely maintained cobblestone path, a few dim lamps showering the occasional stone bench with light. Trees with leaves of varying colors painted the landscape around them, the greenery surrounding them brought even more to light by the many fireflies dancing by here and there. It was a peaceful place, one that Jasmine had read about in a brochure on the way here. Apparently all the rage for dates. She snickered to herself at the thought.
The weather was just right, too. The temperature was just right - not too warm, not too cold. Okay with a shirt, a little warm with a hoodie. The night's sky was clear of any and all clouds that might have otherwise threatened to dim the light of the stars above which shone brightly through the trees. It honestly felt like something out of a dream.
Jasmine took a few quick steps forward to get in front of Rowan before she turned around and begun walking backwards... all so she could see the girl in her full splendor... and by the Gods did she look drop dead gorgeous, especially in a place like this. "Totally. Places like that haven't really ever been my thing, much less with a full entourage of teenage girls there with me... but I gotta admit, even I started thinking I should indulge a little more often. Integrate something like that into my resting periods between training, y'know? Can definitely see the health benefits," she said, her hands behind her back, emerald greens firmly locked on beautiful lavender.
Another soft giggle rolled off Jasmine's lips, this one a little higher pitched than usual, if Rowan would even notice. Jasmine surely didn't, though what she did make note of was the fact that she was feeling something she hadn't in a very long time. Something she herself was a little surprised by.
Butterflies.
"Weeeeeeeeeeell..." the lass began in a singsong voice, placing a finger on her chin as though she was deep in thought. "I wouldn't call it obvious. Let's say it was a... very pleasant surprise, shall we?" A smile was firm on her lips as she kept walking backwards. "I'm glad you did, though. Been a while since I've, uh..." she paused for the briefest of moments. Hesitation? Really, Jaz? "...well, since I've gone out on a date." She said it, and she swore she actually felt a little uneasy about the statement. It wasn't like either of them had actually labeled what this was. All that was said was that they'd hang out and talk. Nothing about a date. Was she getting a little ahead of herself? Christ she hoped she wasn't.
"...uh, but anyway!" She then said suddenly, turning around again to walk forward when she started feeling her cheeks flush a little.
What she was very painfully aware of was that the girl's inner thoughts had, for the briefest of moments, been scrambled like those of a goddamn teenage girl. Yes, she was exactly that - a girl in her late teens. But holy fuck had it been a while since she'd even felt like one. The last time she was worried about something like this was two years ago, back when her relationship with Rin was still starting to blossom.
No, she was definitely getting ahead of herself. One step at a time, girl, she told herself. One step at a time. Don't want to ruin a good thing before it's even had the chance to start.

Rowan tried to not laugh too loudly when Jasmine teased her and she couldn't help but hide her mouth behind a hand, it was obvious though that she giggled and she liked the wink but she still felt like she was unfair. She looked with that smile away from Jasmine. She did keep her eyes averted but tried to catch glimpses as she obviously had to follow her when they were walking at the sidewalk to get at the trail that Jaz invited her to. She liked the comment and obviously blushed a little but also she felt that the silent was okay. It did not feel so heavy as sometimes silence moments could do, it felt totally okay to look around and not focus on talking, that would come naturally. It did feel so natural, maybe because she knew Jasmine a little, but she thought that before with... Sometimes she really should give herself a break, this was going too far and she was tired of pushing and kicking herself all the time. She would look at the pathway and was a bit surprised this was here... heck how often did Hiro come here why did he pick this hotel? That was surprising but she liked this, she should claim it as part of her deal with dad... it was probably her uncle's though. She tried to again kick her thoughts away from the work part that started to become her whole being.
The landscape was so pretty that it escaped her that a breeze got around her and that wearing a summer dress wasn't the warmest option out there. For now she was doing fine, she would see how it would go further down the line of this evening, how long would they stay out? She looked around, "It looks like little fairy lights!" She said a little enthusiastic and pointed at the little lights next to the path, it must be the fireflies and she wasn't even sure if she ever seen them before and she folded her hands behind her back and tried to look as casual as she could. She looked up a little surprised when Jaz walked a little faster and she wasn't sure if she should catch up but then the silver-haired girl turned around and walked backwards so they could look at each other. She stretched out her hand but quickly held it back, it wasn't like Jasmine would fall. She brushed her hair behind her ear and smiled and averted her eyes to see where she was walking before looking back up when Jasmine talked again. She bit her lip to not immediately make a stupid comment about the hotel chain her father owned cuz that was not what Jasmine would have to know at this right point. "I can see the benefits of that too, sounds great." She smiled a little more when she noticed their eyes met. She was unsure how to hold herself, was she doing fine? She wanted to give the best impression she could give, struggling with finding words and where to hold her hands and so on, or where to look!
"Hm, I like it was a very pleasant surprise, I can deal with that." She felt so weird smiling so much all the time, while she thought she should be more gloomy. Her smile disappeared into an o-vorm of her lips and she was surprised and wasn't sure what to say, she blushed a lot. She bit her lip soon and she pushed herself to say something but nothing happened, no words passed her lips. She bonked her own head when Jasmine turned the conversation away and turned around. See! She should have said something. She quickly took a few steps quicker and took Jasmine's hand in hers and just did not look at her, but was obviously blushing very much. "I-I don't know if we should call it a date," She looked back at Jasmine, because she should be honest and look her in the eye, "But it really sounds nice." Even if it was not fair to Jasmine or to Sean, it was just them walking and talking right now, right? And she did not want to deny that the idea of that was very nice.

Jasmine had always been an incredibly observant person, somebody who always noticed the most minor details both in the environment and with people. Nowhere perhaps was this more obvious than in the here and now. Bright emeralds watched Rowan keenly, taking note of how her facial expressions changed every time she went through a different range of emotions. Humor. Embarrassment. Awe. Glee. Many warm and positive emotions that felt so damn contagious even the wolf wasn't able to suppress her own smile that came about as a result. At the same time, though, she could've sworn she saw something else. Hesitation. Confusion. She saw... guilt? She could've sworn it felt like guilt, but... why?
The fireflies had seemed to catch Rowan's attention and thankfully helped Jasmine bite down the urge to poke her about it. Her brows rose slightly as the fireflies' light seemingly illuminated Rowan's beautiful lavender orbs, making it seem like they started to glow in the night. A giggle as sweet as honey slipped out of Jasmine, "Beautiful, aren't they? Thought you'd like them," she said, sticking out her tongue in an all too teasing manner. While the question still lingered in Jasmine's mind, it was funny how easily someone could unwittingly make her try to forget it. In the moment, anyway.
Ah, just as she had thought. Her out of the blue statement did end up making things a little awkward. Damn it, Jaz! she swore at herself in her thoughts, yet all that left her out in the real world was but a slightly uneasy chuckle. "...yeeeeaaah, sorry about that, I shouldn't have assumed-" the words died in her throat the second she felt an uncanny warmth embrace her hand.
Jasmine swore if her whipping her head back had been just a tad faster she would have probably broken her damn neck. Eyes wide as the beginnings of pink began to surface on her cheeks, the girl stared at her hand as she walked, enveloped by the silky smooth skin of Rowan's fingers. If the butterflies from before felt like a simple mid-summer breeze, now it seemed like a tornado had hit the girl in the face. Caught entirely off guard, the wolf flinched a little as she turned her face away, feeling her cheeks flush with heat at a rate she wasn't prepared to deal with.
"Damn it..." she whispered to herself, pulling the hood lower over her head to try and hide her own embarrassment. All while a stupidly happy smile spread across her face. Why? She didn't know. It'd been a while since she felt this way. Since anybody even made her feel this way. It felt so new. So... raw. Jasmine didn't even know what to do with it.
Enjoy it while it lasts, firecracker, she could hear Nathan's voice in the back of her skull and could even picture the shit-eating grin plastered all over his dumb metallic face. Never in a million years did she think she'd take his advice when it came to girls, but...
Another soft giggle escaped the embarrassed lass, right before her fingers moved to intertwine with Rowan's, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "You know..." she said, glancing at the girl from the corner of her eye, face a little red. "With that just now? You definitely made it a date, dummy..." Jasmine quickly slid closer to the brunette's, giving her side an incredibly gentle bump with her own arm.
Hand in hand, the two girls walked on in silence. To some it might have seemed a little awkward. Hell, Jasmine wouldn't even blame Rowan if she found it awkward. But for her it was a little different. It felt similar to the quiet moment they shared just a few moments earlier, yet this time it felt more... close. Intimate. Almost like their touch was connecting them in some way. Rowan's hand felt so warm the wolf thought her skin would get burnt and yet at the same time it was the type of warmth that made her unwilling to let go.
Finally they reached the end of the trail; a railed off area just by the edge of a hill onlooking the valley of hills below. Grassy fields with a long and serene river in the middle, painted by the dotted lights of hundreds of fireflies. The smile on Jasmine's face only grew, threatening to split her face apart. She glanced back at Rowan, her expression an almost childishly giddy grin.
"What do you think?" she asked, once again leaning in a little closer. She gave Rowan's hand another gentle squeeze as she brushed up against her in an attempt to share her own warmth. "Good first date or nah?" the words practically rolled off her tongue in a tone so cheeky she couldn't help the snicker that followed even if she tried.

She always felt like she was walking on her tiptoes, all her life. Not in the sense of dancing but in the sense of afraid of making the wrong step, again and again; it wasn't going to go away. It wasn't going to be better ever, but she was working really hard on it and yet maybe not hard enough? The girl was always working in the literal sense of the word; school, homework, training, economy classes, hotel work. But working her butt off to be more fun and such; that was far more difficult than she anticipated. But on the one hand, she felt really relaxed right now, it might have been the air, the hot springs, the no zombies and school stuff or just being with a person that she felt comfortable with. She just was so confused by this moment because of her saying yes while she was... she shouldn't have said yes or well not yes without explaining but she did not say anything now either. She felt horrible about herself every time she felt that she was enjoying herself... because she shouldn't, not yet?
"I have never seen them like this, it is very pretty." She nodded and she was surprised that Jasmine had thought previously about the idea that she might like them. How come, did people do that often? Think what others might like in these cases? So what did that make it of her previous dates? She thought that Sean would like such a thing as the hot springs but even if they were still dating that would not immediately mean she would invite him here... is that what she did wrong? She did not want to do that wrong. She just smiled as Jasmine teased her and as they would talk she would answer and try to forget her stress.
It was definitely hard to subdue when Jasmine called it a date. And she pushed Jaz away, she could see that, the girl apologized and she felt like she should do something about it. Trying to take the quick steps to join her friend by her side, she decided to be a little more brave then usual, if they could take it slow, it would be fine. She first had not dared to look at Jasmine but she had decided for the sake of clarity and honesty that she should, hence why she looked up right when Jasmine looked at her, Rowan was blushing. She felt something strange in the pit of her stomach, like it just made a somersault but not in the sense that she felt nauseous, it was rather okay. Which was strange to say and she felt like the skin of Jasmine wasn't colder or much hotter than her own, which felt kind of right. As if it was meant to be that they would hold hands eventually. She wasn't sure if she should say more as the hood went further down Jasmine's face and thus she bit her lip even further down.
But then she heard a giggle and a puff of air escaped her lips as she had no idea she was holding it. Afraid she had said something wrong or made it very bad. She looked up when she heard words and she felt the squeeze and softly squeezed back. Her eyes turned a little bigger and the blush more intense, "O-oops?" She should be honest though but she wasn't sure how to find the words. She felt herself very awkward when not saying anything and actually confirming it was a date. "Would you mind if it was a date?" Though the silver-haired girl had said it before, it was just a question, "Because-" But her voice faltered and she looked around her as they had reached the end already before she knew it. The spread of the valley below them was so pretty and serene she did lose her track of thought. She wished she lived here instead of in the business of Tokyo and Musutafu. Maybe doing a hero job wasn't actually made for her.
"Heh," she said the sound of her laughing a little when Jasmine asked, "Yes it is," She shivered a little because she noticed it was quite cold without Jasmine so close by her side. Should she still say it, or would that ruin everything? "I-I am, maybe I am going too quickly but... I think you ought to know that I just- I mean a few weeks ago broke up with S-Sean and I-I don't want to go too quickly and ruin another relationship." Or friendship or whatever this was going to end up being because she thought she was ruining so much. Maybe she wasn't able to give enough love to people or she had not found the right person, but she shouldn't be a hopeless romantic that kept on failing and falling?

Jasmine couldn't help but feel absolutely elated to see Rowan's reaction. Before embarking on her usual hour long jog which she went through for her evening exercise every day, the lass had asked hotel reception for any good spots she could visit to see some of the area-specific sights. It was a habit she had picked up on account of being as curious as she was. Considering how often she ran satiating her curious nature felt like killing two birds with one stone. Boy was she glad she asked. The hotel staff had immediately pointed her towards this very same location and it wasn't a big stretch to say that Jasmine had been pleasantly taken aback by this very same sight that had her raven haired comrade so mesmerized.
A soft hum left Jasmine's lips at the question as she mulled it over otherwise silently. Honestly she couldn't help but ask herself that very same question. Did she want it to be a date? Was it even okay to be dating given the less than obvious state her... ex... was in? Christ she didn't even know if she could call Rin her ex. Shouldn't she? She searched high and low. Left and right. Every single database that she had access to and then some were scoured up and down. Hell, the wolf even went to Elise for help to see if she could find anything in the PSC's database. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The girl had practically lost hope.
Was Rin... she dreaded to think it, but she had to at least consider it.
If that ended up truly being the case, would Rin really want Jasmine punishing herself looking for clues to a bitter dead end? She didn't think so. Maybe it was selfish to believe that... but everybody and their mother knew that whatever Jasmine was going through wasn't healthy for her. The wolf herself knew - it just took too long for her to convince herself of that. Which is exactly why she decided to take the plunge. To answer that very same question back in the hot springs...
"Nah," she confirmed, turning to Rowan with a small smile on her face. "I'd like that. A lot, actually."
An overall silence enveloped the two girls as they peered down into the alley, the buzzing of fireflies the only sound that accompanied the two of them during this chilly night. Jasmine still held the same smile on her face as she leaned over the railing, supporting herself with her forearms against the metal.
"You know..." the ashen haired girl began, a thoughtful expression painting her facial features, a small smile making her lips twitch upwards, "I've lived my whole life encased in stone and metal. In New York the buildings were so high it felt like they touched the sky. It's much the same with Tokyo and Musutafu, though while the latter isn't perhaps as large, both places feel so damn cluttered it's sometimes hard to find any air to breathe... you know what I mean?"
"It's times like these where, y'know, out in nature, I feel like I can really relax..." the girl admitted, resting her chin atop her forearms, the light of the fireflies reflected off of her bright emerald eyes. "Kinda makes me feel like I belong out here. I've always wanted a cabin somewhere in the woods or the mountains. Just my own place where I can escape the world and relax... A place like Red Horn has, I guess." She snorted, "though given my income I probably won't have that any time soon."
"At the same time, though... I feel like I can only enjoy nature so much because I see it so little, if that makes sense?" Jasmine gave Rowan a glance to check and see if she could gouge any thoughts from her facial reaction. "I'm a city girl through and through, there's no point denying that. As much as I enjoy the outdoors, the big cities where life's sprawling is where I belong. Plus... I don't think I could give up the Hero life and all the responsibilities that come with it just so I could live peacefully. Doesn't really sit right with me, I'unno..."
A somewhat nervous chuckle left Jasmine's lips as she scratched the back of her head sheepishly. "Ahaha... got a little thoughtful after seeing all this and started rambling. Sorry, my bad."
The next few sentences that Rowan spoke to life had caught the wolf a little by surprise. "Huh... so you and Sean were a thing? I never even knew..." she commented idly, seeming to mull things over. Two weeks ago? Damn. That was pretty recent. She really couldn't blame Rowan for wanting to take things slow. Hell, Jasmine even felt a little guilty for having asked her out in the first place.
Yet that guilt so very quickly disappeared once she looked into the brunette's eyes and heard what she said next. Rowan still wanted to see where this would go and she cared enough about this relationship to want to be careful about it and take it slow. That... Jasmine couldn't lie, she felt a warm, fuzzy feeling well up inside her chest.
"That's okay," she said. "I completely understand. I know exactly how difficult relationships can be, breakups especially, so I can't really blame you for wanting to take it slow. Hell, given my own state of affairs I'd like to take my time with it, too... but..." Jasmine paused. Yeah. She had to go for it. Something in her mind -- no, fuck that, something in her heart urged and dared her to go for it. She wasn't ever one to turn a deaf ear to her gut.
Her next move was slow, borderline sensual. Jasmine stood up straight and moved in closer. Her hand moved in, long fingers entrapping the raven haired female's chin gently, turning her head so the two girls could face each other. Then she leaned in for the kill. Soft lips touched for the briefest of moments that felt even shorter than they actually were.
She smiled brightly as her face still remained close to Rowan's, a slight tint of pink on her cheeks. "Just, y'know... wanted to give you a taste of what's waiting for you when you finally feel comfortable."

Was she that sheltered? Or would it be better to call her simply stupid? She had normally not cared about the outside world. It was a bit pathetic, if your world and life were already lined out for you, why show interest, right? It was probably all that and the fact that she had been deadly afraid of her own quirk. She did not know what to say but being outside of the city or even the busy district of Musutafu definitely did help. She was surprised by the fantasy and fairy look of the fireflies, something that would at first sound absolutely disgusting after all it were insects but so far away from her, they held some magic in their appearance. It made her feel like maybe a princess, like a magical one instead of the wealthy human being that she was; which wasn't always fun, alright? But it wasn't only the fireflies it was the whole situation, the forest, the greens, everything felt so much better than the grey she imagined from the skyscrapers and business people in Tokyo, was that going to be her future? She shouldn't think too much about it right now, which was quite easy, to be honest, as the outside distracted her again and again, so many noises and things she felt like she had not seen before.
But she had to break that moment of peace because even if the outdoors were as pretty as a fairy tale, it had to be an honest moment, Jasmine had asked her something back in the springs and she had blurted something out without thinking, that she would not have said no. That had not been a lie but she had to be honest with herself and definitely be honest with Jasmine if she wanted to do well and not ruin something again. It was just a very heavy question that she did not know how to answer either. A date, in all honesty, was very easy, you could go out and call it a date, there was no one you were betraying at that point in time and so on. That wasn't what she was worried about in the end, but it was that they should share the same peace of mind and the same idea about their timing and their pace if she wanted this to go well, but then again maybe that was also overthinking the situation which could potentially harm Jasmine already.
She looked back up at Jasmine when she confirmed it, that she did not mind. It was something that made her feel relieved, maybe even the sleepy butterflies in her stomach woke up to wonder what was going on. It was cute that she said she liked it a lot. Rowan wasn't sure what to say herself though. She felt like she should say something but something did not happen, her jaw was screwed shut and she felt like she betrayed her own question, she had been asking it for a reason, but why ruin the moment? It was not that, it was about honesty and mostly towards Jasmine and Sean. She did not want Sean to think he was so easily replaced, that wasn't what it was it was... she did not know what to say or even how to consider what she thought. She smiled though, without maybe knowing it, but Jasmine's answer had been nice. She looked up when she was spoken to and to see Jaz her expression. She nodded, that's what she just had thought herself as well.
She could not help but chuckle a little, "Like a holiday bungalow or something." She said and looked around, they did not really own such a thing as the Sakamoto family, they owned hotels, like this one, so why get a bungalow, but it was a funny idea. She blushed a little when they spoke about income and looked away, not sure if she should say something about that. Now she was the wealthy snobby Princess instead of the magical one, better not break it right. "Right, yea I know what you mean." Never was she alone until she got her apartment in Musutafu that her father financed or well her mother. At that point it had been so weird to be alone and imagine she had to clean all by herself, she had not been really good at it. She shrugged but her eyebrows were frowned, "Could be like a holiday house though, for weekends, Christmas, anything like that." She knew some of her father's employees had that and it sounded nice, "I am a city girl too, everything within reach and being there where you have to be is so much easier than driving quite a while or take the train." She wasn't a train or bus girl but it was definitely easier. Again Rowan shrugged, maybe a bit of a thing she did when she did not know how to respond, "You do not have to apologize for that though. I don't mind." She smiled a little, the shrug was dismissive but in a good sense so to say.
Finally she dared to confess though, that she was so unsure and she looked at her feet when she said that she never knew about Sean. She had not really shared it, people suspected it since he came to the Christmas dance last year and you know kissing him directly after her fight at the sports festival but that was the start and directly the end maybe. "It didn't last long, I am not sure if I am made for a relationship, I do want to try though." She quickly looked up to Jasmine after she confessed she doubt she was good at it but that shouldn't be a sign she wanted to quit it, she was honest though. But that's why she should say more, so she said she wanted to take it slow to not ruin the relationship but wanted to try it anyway.
She looked away again and crossed her arms, not to shut out Jasmine but damn it was cold, why did she only notice now? She held her upper body and just turned her attention back to Jasmine when her sentence seemed to trail off. It was maybe not her own motion that turned to look to Jasmine only, it was also that the girl lifted up Rowan's chin and made her look at her. Her eyes turned a lot bigger and her lips parted in a silent surprise and looked and blinked at Jasmine, it wasn't that she minded, it was her surprise and suddenly her cheeks turned a very red colour and her mouth closed and she swallowed obviously and nodded. Too bashful to talk.

To Jasmine, it had felt like far too long since the last time she had any real human connection. She couldn't say she didn't have any friends. It wasn't like she was entirely a loner, even if she sometimes preferred it that way. More often than not she chose the solitude and the loner lifestyle, and yet... yet she would be lying if it sometimes didn't make her feel lonely. Even Mosa had questioned her. Questioned whether or not she was setting the bar too high for herself and putting too much weight on her own shoulders to bear alone. In this moment, the lass recalled his words. In the here and now, as Jasmine stared into the beautiful lavender eyes of the girl she had just kissed, Caldera couldn't help but second guess herself and her choices up to this very point.
The silver haired femme's cheeks had flushed red a little, a small smile so bright on her face it looked like it was there to stay permanently. Jasmine gave a short giggle at the sight of Rowan's face flushing a very painful red, looking so cute Jasmine had trouble forcing herself from attacking her lips again. Instead, she opted to stay in place for a little while, just... enjoying the moment. Her own emerald greens scanned Rowan's facial features, leaving an imprint of the sight in her mind she could look back at whenever she felt she needed to, whether when she wanted to embarrass the brunette, or when she herself felt down. She kinda figured it'd help.
Clearly Rowan had been taken aback a little by this whole event, not that Jasmine minded one bit. It wasn't a negative type of surprise, anyway, which was for damn sure a good thing. So to not make things too awkward, Jasmine took action, not wanting to end the night just yet. With one swift motion the wolf lunged forward, picking the girl up off of her feet, scooping her up into her arms into a bridal carry. She grinned down at the raven-haired beauty before hopping up on the railing.
"Let's take the scenic route to our next destination, gorgeous," before Rowan had any time to reply, they were off. Jasmine hopped high up into the air like one of those ninjas you'd see in those old Japanese anime and darted for the trees. Her feet landed on a sturdy branch which she then proceeded to kick off of, hurdling the two of them deeper into the forest and further away from the light of the lampposts.
This continued for a good few moments, Jasmine's grip tight around Rowan as the two girls flew along the air using Jasmine's speed, strength and agility. Before long the two of them reached a mountain range that Jasmine scaled with little trouble, reaching the peak within several quick moments. Jasmine grinned down at Rowan as she set the girl back on her own two feet. An arm rose to point to the open, star-filled night's sky above them.
"Whatcha think? Beautiful, ain't it?"

It was just so strange how everything was going and yet she did not want to deny that she liked it. She had not thought this was an option, ever an option. She knew she was pushing people away and hurt them and she had decided it was better if she did not. She had been so stupid to fall for that criminal when he was her first connection in the UA library, how could she have known? And Haru, it was just she was so scared and she should try to really open up to Jasmine. In case this would work out, see there she was going again... If something was depending on working out, she had to work for it herself as well. She would have to be open and honest and that was not something she was used to. She had been working really hard last year to open up and be not so scared of everything but that still wasn't an easy decision to make every time she came on that path of the crossroad. She rather took the easy way out but it made her lonely and afraid of everything, she wanted to break that circle.
She could not help but make a gasp and a squeaking sound when she was lifted up and carried bridal style. Now that was something new to consider. But it made the atmosphere a lot warmer too, the first cuz she was embarrassed and second because both their body temperatures seemed to be warmer than normal, after all, she noticed Jasmine's which was a new experience for the explosive quirker. She wrapped her arms around Jasmine's neck to make sure she was holding on to something as well but she tried to not laugh too much but it was funny and scary at the same time, so it did not help and she giggled.
"What if we fall?" She had no way that she learned to use her quirk like that and it was so interesting how different they were from each other. After all, did they not say your quirk influenced your persona and look at them? She had nothing to complain about though. Eventually, Jasmine would stop and let her go and with her food on a steady ground she looked first where they stood before looking up and her mouth opened again, there were no artificial lights to screw up the night sky, "It is really pretty." But now with the heat of Jasmine's body gone, she wrapped her arms around herself again, it was even colder here than down there between the trees, really next time she should not try to look just cute but also wear a jacket or something, she had a jacket, why not wear it?!
But she tried to lower her shoulders, try to stop shaking from the feeling and just looked up, it was easy to be distracted if the breeze did not surprise her again and again. It was just nice to look at the stars, so calming and pretty.

Despite the small smile having taken up space on her face, Jasmine had otherwise remained uncharacteristically quiet. No stranger to the foreign warmth radiating from the woman in her arms, she couldn't help but have her mind drift towards thoughts that held a flair for the dramatic. Much alike the brunette who wrapped her arms around the wolf's neck, Jasmine's headspace had become rather cloudy, memories of the past resurfacing, providing her with nuances that made her want to question herself and her decisions.
Thoughts prompting her to question her own self-worth made her feel like her stomach had twisted into several uncomfortable knots. Mosa had told her she should look to the future but how could she when where she came from, everything she experienced, was so muddy? He urged her to be more open but how was that fair to ask of her given how many times she'd been burnt by fires she had no control over? She was told she should try to make new connections but could she ever be carefree enough to give herself such a privilege when she'd hurt so many people before?
Her smile suddenly turned somber. Had Rowan not been in her arms, watching the scenery go by with awe plastered all over her face, Jasmine was pretty sure she wouldn't have been able to keep a soft sigh from leaving her.
Though what she also couldn't stop herself from doing was gently tightening her grip around the brunette after her question, the dullness possessing her smile quickly fading into warmth.
"We won't. Never when I'm holding you," Jasmine responded, completely oblivious to both how cheesy that sounded and to how much weight her words must have held.
At her core Jasmine had always been a selfless character, one who would far too often give up whatever she herself wanted in exchange for a smile on the face of somebody she cared for, though she herself wouldn't ever characterize that as selfless. To her, it was the opposite. Rin made her realize that every time she'd get scolded by her whenever she did anything that left her harmed in one way or another, all for the little Raven's sake. Jasmine thought she was selfish. Conceited. Anything and everything she did she felt like happened because of her twisted desire to keep those she cared about happy, in turn feeling satisfied herself.
But was that really so bad?
She couldn't help but think it was when she remembered how many times her selfish desires ended up backfiring against her and the people she thought dear.
This time she really couldn't hold back the sigh, as quiet as it was, as they rocketed along the darkened foliage of the trees below their feet.
Jasmine couldn't help but be amazed by how comedic all of this seemed. Unbeknownst to her she had turned into a complete mess of a teenager. One minute she was ready to take the plunge, then the next and she was already questioning herself against all of the decisions she had made throughout her entire life. This was only supposed to be a simple date. Hell, originally this wasn't even a date but a walk with a friend. How in the seven fucks did this turn so introspective to the point that it made her want to tear her silver tresses off her head with her bare hands? She almost felt like she could hear her inner voice laughing at her own misery.
How many times did her opinion of herself and what she was supposed to be doing switch teams within the last half an hour? This was ridiculous. It wasn't supposed to be this complicated and yet at the same time Jasmine knew that it was. If it hadn't been for Rowan, the wolf was damn near certain she would've slammed herself against one of the trees below to get her head on straight. Or bend it even further so she could at least think about something else.
What am I? Jack?
A few quick steps and hops were all that Jasmine needed to scale the sudden outcrop of hills that was their destination. Her heels settled on the stone below, quietly thankful for the stable footing. As she let Rowan settle, she couldn't help the sudden lack of proximity a little frustrating, if not outright alarming. That one realization made her realize how much of a nutcase she ended up being.
"Glad you like it," Jasmine responded, a smile she could only barely call fake surfacing to hide the inner turmoil brewing within her in between all of the different feelings she'd experienced thus far. Had it not been for their kiss and Rowan being this adorable Jasmine was pretty sure her stoic facade would've been replaced with what the face a high-schooler trying to study astrophysics would've looked like.
Though despite the mockery her own brain was making out of her the wolf very quickly noticed how Rowan's arms came up to embrace the female's form, a slight shiver making her body creak here and there. Emerald greens widened with realization, a low curse leaving her lips.
The next sequence of events felt thoughtless as Jasmine quickly pulled her own hoodie over her head, leaving her clad in her long, sleeveless shirt. As big of a blessing as her abnormally high body temperature was it could far too easily turn into a pain in the ass. Exhibit A: she didn't even realize how cold it was and, subsequently, how cold Rowan had gotten as a result.
"Shit, sorry. Here. Put this on. Should warm you up," Jasmine offered, somewhat bashfully handing her oversized black hoodie for the girl to slip into. "Oh and don't worry about me. Can't even feel the cold after..." the words suddenly stopped themselves as Jasmine grew quiet for a few brief moments, her eyes glancing at the ground absentmindedly.
"It's probably better that I show you."
Jasmine stepped closer to Rowan and gently lifted her right hand, her palm open and facing up. Several small sparks crackled around her wrist and in between her fingers, dancing along her pale skin, growing closer and closer in proximity as though magnetized. The second the playful sparks touched they connected and formed into a small plume of a flame, casting shadows behind both of the girl's bodies. Despite the small size of the construct the warmth Jasmine's flame exuded was damn near comparable to a campfire.
She didn't say anything as her emerald greens stared at the flame, reflecting the light dimly as her smile resurfaced. Her gaze shifted back to Rowan, almost as though the wolf had pushed back whatever memory ended up assaulting her.
"Warmer now?"
