♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea Once upon a time, there was a happy little serpent princess, but the king and queen were always getting sick when she'd give them a hug. They weren't like her and they've been through this before with a little prince who was green as an apple ready to be candied. This made the serpent princess sad, but when they did their best, she found her smile all the same and accepted that she had to be sent far away.... Far, far away to a place that could help her see a happily ever after. St. Marta's, they had a wonderful reputation and knew how to make things right for these wayward children with a thing called quirks. A final farewell and nothing was the same...for the princess became nothing more than a tool. For the little princess had to take control of her story...and so she did.... A happily ever after? The princess mote it so. With friends made along the way, she found the perfect fountain to call her own so she could use the rumors to direct people to juuuuuuust the right fountain! Just because her past was filled with suffering and sorrow, struggling to smile through the pain some days, it didn't mean she was going to let it ruin her just like most of the kids who hurt her! Nuh uh! Resting her chin on the edge of the large fountain within the shopping district, conveniently located between the Gym and that cute little Kaijuu Cakery, it was fun to watch all the people happily enjoy meals she couldn't afford. People being happy made her happy! Their smiles were worth protecting, most of those stinky government mutts sucked at doing that except Paw Might and Witch Doctor! They actually seemed to care about people and Paw Might was her bestest friend who gave her lots of coupons plus a new phone! Yeah! Everyone else was a stupid, stinky puppet! Golly, one of these days she'd have to find the government mutt snake man with a good singing voice and kick him in the ankles and punch his knee caps juuuuuuuuuuust in case he was her brother. Plus, shame on him for not helping her just like all the other stinky pros who weren't Witch Doctor or Paw Might! Hugging onto the thermos full of hot cocoa, she kept herself mostly submerged to keep herself comfortable in this warm weather after running around so much! Fwooooo heat and her trash bag cloak wasn't a good combo at all! Someone looked like they were approaching, though! Oooooooo yaaaaaay this was it! A moment to shine and bask in the glory of her urban legend! "HI HIIIIIIIII~! COCOA FOR YOUR WOE-WOES~?" Beaming about with a bright smile that could scare the rain clouds away, she plopped the thermos up onto the edge to treat it like a counter top. Yup! Hifumi lived for days like these!

Hinata's life has always rough. But despite everything he has gone through-his years of choices for himself taken away from him, he doesn't regret the life forced upon him. Since eventually, he got to choose how he wants to live for himself. A teacher to a few dumbass but well-meaning children, friends of some good people, and he's not alone anymore. Damn-those kids made me soft. Hinata proudly said internally.
Hinata wasn't out on duty as Zombie King-He was out and about as Hinata Kitsu-the baby that got abandoned by his parents and raised by a hospital. The teen who ran away to see the outside world but got forced into a life of vigilantism. The young adult who got maimed and forced to join the Pro-hero program or have him be marked a Living Biohazard for the rest of his life- or killed. Hinata Kitsu was always a man who has his hands tied in situations.
Hinata Kitsu, for maybe just today, was himself and had no prior engagements or duties. So Hinata was spending it hanging around Musutafu. Hinata never really got to enjoy the area as a regular person and not as a vigilante or pro-hero. Hinata even got to try out that bakery. Hinata got a piece of pie for himself to enjoy, Hinata never really had pie before, so he hopes its tastes as good as it looks and smells.
For some reason, Hinata picked up two forks for himself by accident. Not like he will find anybody willing to share a piece of pie with him-but then again, he shouldn't sell himself short. He has been taken by surprise so he shouldn't sell short how weird life can be.
Hinata approached a fountain in the shopping district. And what he saw in the fountain was unexpected- a young woman with a fish mutation quirk hanging out in the fountain's waters. And she was asking him if he wanted some of her cocoa.
Hinata was flabbergasted- so all he could let out was a good-natured chuckle as he sat on the fountain's edge near the fish girl and sat his large piece of pie between them - Hinata pulled down his cloth mask enough to shoot the girl a lop-sided grin and says-"I'll only sip if you give me the honor of repaying the kindness by sharing lunch with me-" Hinata says as he pulls up his masks and he secured two forks and put one near the strange hyperactive fish girl.
Hinata never knows what to expect anymore. And he enjoys it.

♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea With those big ol' fishy eyes of hers centered with magenta pupils glistened in the light as she slowly sat up, bringing her hands up to her cheeks. That bright smile only grew as she squeaked out with all the glee she could muster from within her tiny little form. "Yayayaya! I'd love to! Reeel-eeeeee! That's a super duper good deal!" Moving her hands off of her cheeks, she excitedly pat her hands on the edge of the fountain while looking up to the zombie looking man while blinking a whole bunch. "Pie tastes better without a mask and you have a pretty smile! Don't hide it so much!" Moving her hands back up toward her face, she pointed at the corners of her mouth before poking the corners of her mouth. Wiggling her elbows a bit with a giggle that showcased her tender nature, a simple girl who wanted to reach out and warm up the hearts of those around her! Taking all the sad feelings and making them feel as though pink fluffy unicorns were dancing on rainbows, that was her hope and dream. "Pretty pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase!" Bobbling a bit closer she just hoped he wasn't actually self conscious about his face. Heeeeeeck if someone wanted to say anything mean, she was ready to defend his honor and perfectly fine smile! Everyone deserved to be happy! ....y-yes...even the government mutts.

Goddamn-Hinata thought to himself as he sees her large fish eyes and couldn't help but be mesmerized by them. Her eyes were off-color like his own but different from his. And the fact she was so excitable and energized- Hinata never met a person who was so full of energy in his life. It would've been too much for him if it was him from the beginning of the year. But he changed-after making the first massive choice of his own. Hinata's concealed smile was broad at this point as he places a fork close to her to grab.
When the fish girl started talking about his smile and how pretty it was and that he didn't need to hide it. Hinata couldn't help but stifle out a snort. Hinata looks at the girl and spoke clearly- "I have been hearing that a lot lately- and I didn't use to believe it- but eventually it starts to chip away at you, so You know what as a treat-" Hinata honestly spoke as he pulls off his mask to reveal the entirety of his face to her.
Hinata gave the girl a grin as he spoke once more- "Only because you said please with a pretty little bow on top." Hinata said with a small chuckle as he grabs his fork and poked the pie for the girl to see him do it, and he says, "Remember our promise?" Hinata reminded the fish of their promise of just a few moments ago.

♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea "VICTORYYYYYYYYYYYYYY FOR MEEEEEEEE~! WOOOOO~!" Holding up a pair of peace signs that marked her victory, she flashed off a triumphant grin and hummed out a soft giggle. Success! The short fish bubbling with tons of energy couldn't help but love and adore how great her perfect plan of using the word please worked out in her favor. See, manners and politeness was important and everyone should be mindful of others! Lowering her hands, she blinked a few times before nodding when he reminded her of their promise. "Mmhm! Mmhm! Mmhm! I remember, sir! I don't like breaking promises because that's a mean thing to do, it makes people sad and sometimes they cry! I want people to be happy~!" Picking up the fork, she hummed while using it to carefully cut it up with a mellow smile. Separating the pieces a bit so it would be easier to pick up with their forks. "By the by~! I'm Kitsu, Hi-fu-mi~! Hifumi Kitsuuuuu~!" Wiggling her fork to the beat of the syllables while nodding her head along with it. One, two, three~! Tilting her head up to look toward him, she scooped up a little piece of pie and closed her eyes while squeaking happily at the taste. "The nice lady's shop always smells so good~! I can't afford anything from there most days, I haven't been beating up bad people for money as often cause I've been focused on being the one, the only hot cocoa serpent of this very fountain~!" With a confident little huff she gestured toward the thermos loaded with delicious hot cocoa and cooed out little chirps, "As a matter of fact, guess what, guess what~?! You're my first customer of the day~! Super duper fresh hot cocoa for you aaaaaaand the lid has some tiny disposable cups tucked inside~! Eeeeeeeeeeeenjoy~!"

Her energy and pureness. Nevermind, it was still a lot to take in. Hinata couldn't help but press his hand against his face to hide the goofy smile and blush on his face from the girl's bright personality, and dear god, she was always at 110%, wasn't she. Hinata hasn't gotten used to such high energy people in his life-normally such people were not people that liked being around him. Due to his passive-dour-and, overly lax demeanor made him extroverts struggle to understand. Hinata couldn't understand how people can be so chipper and bright but to each their own.
The girl remembered their promise as he moved his hand away from his face as he spoke up, "My, aren't you the ---" Heroic kind- was what he was going to say but when she introduced herself as Hifumi Kitsu- Hinata went silent for a moment. Hinata has never met anybody who shares his last name- so he could piece together that it wasn't a common last name. And Hinata looked contemplative for a moment as he watches her eat her piece of the Pie. Hinata followed suit-but he took a much smaller piece than the girl herself.
But when the girl started speaking again, he listened carefully and with a smile. And what she said was a bit worrying. Not beating up as much bad as people as often is what she says, which implies vigilante activity. Hinata let it slide since her phrasing was vague enough he doesn't have a case against her- and to be honest, he doesn't mind vigilantes as long as they don't make his job harder. If they stay in their lane and he does the same it's fine by him.
The girl handed him her thermos and poured him a cup of cocoa, which Hinata nodded at the girl and says a small "Thank you," as he starts to blow into the cup a little bit too cool it off before speaking again. "It's nice to meet you, Hifumi, I am Hinata, Hinata Kitsu- its a small world we live don't we? To meet another person with the name Kitsu?" Hinata chuckled to himself as he looks into the cup of cocoa again. Hinata hopes it is just a small world, and not what he thinks it is. He hopes it's not what he thinks it is. Hinata cannot handle the thought of meeting somebody related to him by blood.

♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea How nice and wonderful life was in this very moment where everything was going well...like maybe this was the right fountain to stick with! Yeah! All her hard work was paying off and she did a great job in settling on this prime real estate~. Twisting the lid on carefully after a cup of cocoa was prepped for the man who would be the perfect actor in a zombie flick. After all, she was more cautious with her top tier beverage. Running all the way home and coming back here would be such a pain in the butt! Too bad she wasn't friends with the nice bakery lady yet...oh well... ...the atmosphere seemed to dim down a bit...? No, she must be imagining things! The little serpent couldn't let herself be saddened by something like having to scamper back home for more cocoa if she ran out or ruined this batch...BE STRONG! "Yeah! My pleasure!" Blinking a few times...it seemed like he took one of the smaller pieces...? Why though, wasn't this his lunch? Looking up at him then back down to the pie then riiiiiight back to him, she tilt her head to the side and figured they were probably cousins or something. That seemed viable if anything...or maybe it was nothing at all! "The world is so biiiiiiiiiig though, Hinata-senpai! There's no way it's itty bitty!" Turning her attention back to the pie with a smile, she used her fork to poke a small piece of pie, spearing it like a fish in the sea! "Unless you mean the whole...what a coincidence thingy, then yeah, probably! Wouldn't be surprised if you were my cousin! I didn't meet much of my family before getting dropped off at the orphanage...sooooo I'm sorry we didn't get to meet at a family reunion or sumffin..."Pouting a bit before nibbling away at her lil piece of pie, she looked up at the man with those big ol' sad fishy eyes...she really felt soooooo bad about that!

[attr="class","ren"]MY BROKEN HEART IS BEATING EVEN STILL DESPITE EVERYTHING The world was a mysterious place, so mysterious yet so little at the same time. Hinata kept chipping away at the pie-with careful and steady bites. Not to alert her that his appetite was iffy right now. Not out of pure maliciousness to the girl since she seems sweet enough if bordering on legal actions. But Hinata has to admit meeting somebody related to him is scary, and it frankly freaked him out. But Hinata had to realize that people are not their family. But the thing is Hinata doesn't know enough about his parents to even gauge how much she is like them. [break][break] Hinata didn't mean to dim the atmosphere it is, just how it is when you don't know how to feel about something, or rather someone. Hinata kept up his smile at the serpentine girl as she says her pleasure to meet him, which he responded with a broader smile and a nod of his head. Hinata watches curiously as the girl goes from him to the pie back to him and then some. Hinata had hoped they were cousins at best. If she was her sister, he wouldn't know how to respond. Hinata was taken aback when she called him senpai he wasn't objecting it just surprised by it. [break][break] Hinata couldn't help but chuckle at the girl's words and says, "Maybe, maybe it is, Hifumi-kouhai." Hinata responded to the first part with a smile. When the girl went into details about her past- it cemented the strange feeling he had- but it also ebbed away from the concerns he was feeling about her in a good way for him, but must be painful for the girl. [break][break] Hinata let out a dry chuckle as she spoke up about not meeting at family reunions. "Hey no harm, no foul." Hinata reassured the girl in a cool tone. Hinata looks at the girl with a soft but sad smile and he spoke up, she is probably the first person since he left the hospital all those years ago to admit this. "You're the first family member I met that I could remember, I was very young when I was left behind, so it's not your fault we never met before." Hinata says as he looks down at the pie and fiddles around with it before looking up at Hifumi. [break][break] "If you are family, rather as a cousin so something else, I'm glad it's you." Hinata's smile falters as all the painful emotions he thought he got over or overcame came back rushing back like a monsoon flash flood. Hinata let out a shaky sigh as he asked Hifumi a question she probably doesn't know the answer to but she's the first and only person that could understand. "Was I not good enough," Hinata asked in a low-husky voice so full of emotions that threatened to flood with croaks and sobs within moments. "Was I not good enough for them?" Hinata sadly asked as sobs threatened to be unleashed to the world, tears he hasn't spilled since the scars on his face happened. But this was a different kind of pain. 525 words [googlefont=Oswald] [newclass=.ren]letter-spacing:-1px;-webkit-transition:all 1.5s ease;transition:all 1.5s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.ren:hover]letter-spacing:1px;-webkit-transition:all 1.5s ease;transition:all 1.5s ease;[/newclass]

♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea Yay! It seemed like she managed to salvage things, even a little bit, which meant something was better than nothing! The aquatic teen was hellbent on saving this man's smile and making sure that he wouldn't be sad...or at least not too sad! So for that moment when he called her kouhai, she snickered and offered up a wide grin while looking up at him, even if it was a difficult subject for her...still, it's not like she delved too deeply int it. The details of the orphanage are what got her and less that her parents dropped her off there, they didn't know any better. They thought it was for everyone's benefit, so of course she didn't feel bitter about the whole thing. When he didn't seem upset with her about not being able to meet him prior to this, Hifumi couldn't help but feel a strange sense of relief from that...like...why did it kinda freak her out that a family member she never met might be mad about something so small...? When the man with pale, green skin mentioned that he was left behind at a young age...something at the back of her head was screaming to make the connection, something, anything! Yet, most of it was like swimming in a big ol' box of cotton...that it was just some weird thing their family did, a very not normal thing at that. It seemed like he was even glad that of all the family members he could have met, it was her...little ol' Hifumi Kitsu. As things seemed to be leveling out, it suddenly took a strange turn, one of which maybe she should have seen coming? That smile of hers threatened to fade away as he started to fall apart before her, he...definitely felt like he wasn't good enough for them. Whoever it was...he felt like they saw him as nothing, her parents actually felt bad for discarding her brother...but he was a biohazard like her, they used her as a means of trying to redeem themselves. Okay, okay...she needed to help him some how, some way...she needed to rescue that lost smile of his! Setting down her fork, she took in a deep breath and let out a soft sigh...she had to find the words, the right ones... "Our family's kinda weird to do that one too many times, aren't they? First my brother, then you and me too...but my mom and dad felt bad for what they did to my brother, they're pretty sure he's dead because he was labeled as a biohazard like me. At the time, they panicked or something, so when they had me, they tried to make up for it by raising me, y-you know, until they couldn't anymore. It wasn't because I wasn't good enough, it was because...because they thought they weren't good enough..."Shuffling her trashy cloak a bit and firmly adjusting her hood as she spoke, she made sure that she wouldn't get any of her nasty, get people sick slime on top of him. With that, she slowly brought her arms around him and pulled him into a comforting embrace, leaning her head up against him, "You're good enough, Hinata-senpai, you're definitely good enough, even if you don't feel like it, you are." Sure, it was a little awkward with how the toxic sea serpent had to hold the ends of her sleeves to cover her hands, but she was doing her best to help! Even going so far as to burble up purrs as an effort of extra comfort! Some of the less hostile orphans liked listening to her purrs when they felt distressed, sort of like it was therapeutic, so who knew if it would help her cousin too? All in all, worth it to take a chance on this train of effort!

[attr="class","ren"]MY BROKEN HEART IS BEATING EVEN STILL DESPITE EVERYTHING Why, Why he feelings things now? He spent so much of his teenaged and early adulthood alone, and now-now that he wasn't alone, it all came flooding back. The feeling of abandonment, anger, guilt, and everything in between. All He knew he was unwanted. And he abandoned any hope of ever being loved while as a child. But now-now that he knows he isn't- that's he loved, people cared about her in their ways, and it now felt so cruel and hurtful what happened to him. And he could never forgive the people who made him feel like this. [break][break] But this girl- this first instance of familial love he has ever received in his life. Hinata couldn't help but find comfort in the girl's words- this girl who knew their parents- their family more than he will ever know. And Hinata couldn't tell if he should be jealous or pitying of the girl as she explained their family to him. And from her words- she put the pieced together for him without asking. They were brother and sister, it's obvious. But Hinata figured she didn't put it together yet, so he wouldn't point it out, for now, there was too much going on with this conversation that he would feel bad adding more baggage into this conversation. [break][break] Hinata wiped his tears as his bated breaths started to get under control. Hinata couldn't help but let steams of miasma leaked out of his mouth as he attempted to stabilize his breathing until the smoke of miasma stopped. and Hinata wiped the last of her tears and let out a stabilizing sigh. And smiles at the girl with a toothy smile and he couldn't help but say, "Thank you, Hifumi Kouhai, I needed to hear that even if I'm not sure it's true, even if I'm not good enough for our parents, I want to be good enough for you Kouhai." [break][break] Hinata didn't realize his flub on admitting their shared relationship and kept talking instead. "I'm---" Or at least tried to when the girl pulled him into an awkward embrace. But the way she purred and hugged him in such a gentle and careful display of affection, that Hinata couldn't help but let his tears flow freely once again as he hugged the girl back deeply and he hiccupped as he returned the girl, not realizing how starved for touch and affection he was. [break][break] Hinata would call himself pathetic most of the time right now but at this moment, he didn't care. 424 WC [googlefont=Oswald] [newclass=.ren]letter-spacing:-1px;-webkit-transition:all 1.5s ease;transition:all 1.5s ease;[/newclass] [newclass=.ren:hover]letter-spacing:1px;-webkit-transition:all 1.5s ease;transition:all 1.5s ease;[/newclass]

♥ better than a pro hero! ♥ Serpent of the TOXIC Sea The petite teen didn't panic or retreat when she saw the miasma, she was on a freaking holy mission to make this sad family member feel better, it wasn't his fault. No, if it wasn't her fault, it wasn't his fault either! Though she was feeling weak and her vision was starting to blur...that's okay...! "Shhhhhoooooosh...there, there....Hinata-senpai..." Keeping up a gentle air about herself, that tone unwavering even though she felt sick to her stomach...that's okay. Getting lost in the moment, her embrace around him was struggling as she lost feeling in her nerves...but the toxic sea serpent was determined...she wasn't going to give up on him. No, she was going to stand by her word and not let her brother feel alone... "We're family, I'll always be here, okay? If there comes a day I'm not here, it's not gonna be your fault, don'cha ever think that!"Slowly tilting her head up toward the sound of where she heard his voice, her gaze was off...as though she was looking at him but unable to make eye contact no matter how hard she tried. Even if it was for a second, it would have been out of mere coincidence since her vision deteriorated into nothing but blurry, dark shadows lost in a misty haze. The way she felt right now....it was reminiscent of her dance with death, lurking upon the brink and holding on. Yet...not quite...it was different...similar, yet not exact. Plus...those words of how he may not feel good enough for their parents, but harboring the desire to be good enough for her...thinking about that caused her smile to brighten up. Sure, she was uncomfortable...but it wasn't going to dim her light of hope while she found a piece of family who cared about her. Closing her eyes, she leaned against him and nuzzled up while shuffling to partially curl her body close like a cat getting ready to sleep. Those comforting purrs were now intertwined with a gentle hum, almost like she was soothing the both of them with a lullaby from the heart. A song she couldn't quite remember the words to, but still, the melody remained in tact over all the years she tried her best to overcome the suffering. A tune that was similar to something that one might hear from a music box. Tired... The tiny serpent was so tired... Drifting off, her humming slowed down and her purrs softened as she drifted off into a gentle slumber with a small smile. Though one may expect the little one's dreams to be filled with sorrow, those dreams were pleasant and nice...warming her heart and that's what she would think all of this was... ...nothing more than a sweet dream... A dream where she was no longer alone, a blissful reality that her brother wasn't dead...but he was right there, here to stay, never to disappear.... Truly a shame that of all the good things to happen in her life and stay in her memory, this is one that she'd dismiss as a delightful figment.
