Myrkul "My name is Myrkul. I am currently in the middle of contemplating life. I guess some would call this a midlife crisis? Heh." Myrkul thought to himself as he traveled to the city briefly to pick up his order. He was finally able to buy tombstones for his family. It took him a long time to get the money together because he was no longer in the family business. Yeah…that’s what he called it a family business. His parent’s had an operation going when they were alive. They took any child rather biological or adopted and trained them to become an assassin. The child either survived or didn’t and was laid to rest somewhere on the property that was now Myrkul’s. He grimaced a bit remembering each and every single funeral that was held for his siblings that didn’t make it. He was determined not to die and in order to do it, he had to live no matter what. So he gladly became the very monster that his parents were trying to create. He was one of the few that survived. There were others that survived, he thinks. Either that or the bodies were never recovered. There were somethings he didn’t bother trying to find out. He sighed heavily as he loaded the tombstones into his car. It was now time to make a very long ass journey back to his home. The drive wouldn’t be bad but there a portion that couldn’t be driven by car. His childhood home was actually on the bottom of a tall hill with no road leading there. It was as if his parents purposely built a house out of the way. He turned on the radio and listen to whatever was on it as he made this lively drive. It was almost a two hour drive since he was coming from the city. He knew he was almost there when he saw the tall hill with the cherry blossom tree on top. He put the car in park and grabbed the tombstones, one by one. By the time he got them to the cherry blossom tree he was breathless and sat down beside the tree. The tree was probably as old as he was and provided great shelter from the sun when it blossomed. However there was more to this tree; around the tree there were white rose bushes that were planted. Something his younger sister did in place of a tombstone. He sighed again and wiped the sweat off of his face. He then looked at each headstone that brought up until he found the one with this child’s name. It was a simple tombstone and all it stated was: “Here lies Suki Arashi”. He stared at the tombstone for what seemed like ages as he remembered the day he met this child for the first time. It was his first trip back home since he left the house and became a successful killer. His parents had assumed he had come to kill them because why else would Myrkul suddenly appear out of nowhere? To their surprise, he was there to warn them to leave because people were coming to destroy their little city. However; after they glanced at each other, they refused to leave. They figured if it was their time to die, it was because they rightfully deserved it. It was almost like they accepted the fact that they would die. Because they did. But they couldn’t accept that for their most recent children. One was a young girl roughly three years old and the other was just a baby. This was the first time he met both the young girls and to his lovely surprise one of them was his biological sister. He would never understand why his parents suddenly gave a damn about their children but they did. They asked him for a favor that changed his life forever. He stopped day dreaming and put the tombstone in its rightful place right underneath the cherry blossom tree. This was the spot his sister had picked to bury the young girl. It was as if she knew that the rest of the property contained graves of the other siblings. Of course if this ever came into conversation, he would easily explain himself to her. How well the conversation will go would be a sit to see. It was hard to tell if his sister could ever handle the complete truth. She was fragile and unstable as of right now. But eventually she needed to know everything, Myrkul could only hope that she would be ready for the truth. He sighed again as he looked down the steep hill and came to the realization that he would have to carry the tombstone down to the ruins of the house. He made the mental note to work on his stamina and strength after this. Even though he always kept up with his specialized training, it didn’t mean he was physically adequate. He was almost too old for this shit and this thought process made him want to join a gym so his age would never be a problem for him. He would live as long as he could. Eventually he picked up the tombstone and decided to get this bullshit done. By the time he made it down the steep hill he was covered in sweat. Why out of all days did he finally decide to do this during the summer? He cursed to himself as he put down the tombstone in the front of the house or well the ruins of the house. All that was left of the house were the bricks that outlined the dimensions of the house and each room on the first floor anyways. His younger sister had torched the house twice so she wouldn’t ever come back. Luckily there was a hidden basement that kept all the important paperwork that Myrkul had in position of now. The paperwork included a will, a family registry, birth certificates, death certificates, the deed to the property, and envelopes addressed to each child that was supposedly alive. It was locked away in a safe that Myrkul had removed and placed into his own home. That way it could always be safe. After taking a small break, he finally placed the tombstone. It said “Here lies the Arashi Family”. He then respectfully said his goodbyes to his family and made his way back to his car. If he came here again he would remember to bring flowers. He forgotten this time and felt horrible about it but there was no way he was making another trip into the city just for flowers. The sun was beginning to set as he went back to his house thus ending his journey in the wild. |
