Running errands was never fun.
Fortunately for Sayama, his errand run was almost complete. As of late, Sayama had found a lot of the fresh fruits and vegetables he'd been bringing home would be infested with flies - the same flies that were supposed to be kept at bay by his "fly-proof" window screen. Without the proper tools to patch the mesh material, Sayama had been at the mercy of the pests for about two weeks. Today's trip into central Tokyo had been devoid of exciting interactions or criminal interference. Even those had taken a backseat to the more important issues of the world. Putting a stop to his unwanted visitors was a top priority for the plant man, who was unusually focused for such a social butterfly.
His short visit to the city involved a few train rides, a trip to the hardware store, and the return trip back to the outskirts. With the tools he needed in hand, Sayama was ready to get home and put an end to his troubles. The only thing standing between him and his goals was the train, which was scheduled to arrive any minute now.
Among those on the platform, Sayama didn't exactly blend in. The mosh pit of mostly businessmen and women, all in their fancy suits, was disrupted by the 1.98m hulk of a man in an orange hooded poncho. That alone was enough to make him stand out, so his green complexion and the three random flowers in his hair never helped his case any. Everybody seemed too involved in their own business to care about the plant man, which was fine by Sayama. Not having at least one pair of eyes on him at all times was a nice change of pace for once.
Once the train rolled into the station, the passengers all prepared themselves to board. One of the closest ones to the train even crumpled up the wrapper of his candy bar and tossed it onto the ground- "You weren't really going to just leave that there, were you?" Silence washed over the platform. The litterer slowly turned in the direction of the deep voice, likely shocked to see the green giant was indeed addressing him from his position in the center of the crowd. Sayama raised his eyebrows as if to ask 'Well?'
"Oh, silly me, of course not! I just missed the garbage is all!" The man tried to explain, a little red faced after getting called out. The nearest garbage can was behind at least five people on either side of the man. Seeing nothing serious was going on, everybody returned to their conversations.
Sayama flashed a genuine smile, "Good answer," While the man scrambled to pick up his wrapper, the passengers began boarding the train. Many of them had no regard for the would-be litterer, but Sayama stopped and gave the man time to board. He may have despised litterers, but those who have been reformed were worthy of his respect. Plus, his mind was still on stopping those darn flies.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ School time really is cutting into my studies… A small knot forming in the brow of the brainy blonde as she stepped up the steps to the station with her bag in one hand and her pad in the other, Sophie Sequoia couldn’t help but let loose a breath that carried just a hint of the mildest frustration as she powered the item up and slung the other over her shoulder, and looked ahead of her to make sure she wouldn’t be running into anybody anytime soon as she marched along and used this transit opportunity for a little bit of multitasking. Hardly even had a chance to look into new subjects since I took over from Nimue…? Lamenting her decision to take up her friend of an offer to join the staff of the new school for heroes simply because of the way it was cutting into her time for research, while it was certainly true that the home of tomorrows quirker society was certainly intriguing enough to catch her attention regularly with newly found curios the blue eyed beauty couldn’t help but feel that while she was certainly proving a boon for the education of the masses she was lagging a little behind with her own academic ambitions, and as such knew that she needed to make better use of her time. Hence the little attempt of hers to put this train ride to good use in one way or another. Let’s see what we have here, hm…? Lucky for her that she could still count on the assistance of her keen aides back from her lab because at the very least their desire to impress her meant that they were only too happy to sift through and discover new leads that they could pursue together, as the touch screen in front of her fired up Sophie could see various files and documents which might just have presented her next exciting new find to her, and as such even in this scenario she felt excited. All too easily finding herself lost in the data that had been collated for her by her fervent fellows back at the corporation of Ketsujo, she looked at pictures and notes on individuals who had been sent to her with the intent of catching her attention, and they seemed to succeed in ways that the people around her could not, no matter how large and unusual they looked. “O-Oh!” Distracted by the data with which she was presented to such a degree that the dainty delight just so happened to take her eye off the ball long enough that she didn’t even see the green mountain of a man who lay in front of her or even hear the commotion he was making about litter until it was too late, Miss Sequoia was left to squeak in a rather helpless and hapless fashion as she found her path obstructed by a broad and tall shape which she happened to walk straight into in a rather unceremonious fashion, though luckily at no sort of speed that would be likely to do all but the frailest figure harm. “My goodness, I’m so sorry… My mind was just a million miles away?” All the same those good old Canadian manners kicking in on reflex as she stumbled backward and looked up to see just who she had just rammed her rather ravishing yellow-dressed splendour into now that she had her attention pulled away from her pad for a moment, the blue eyed biologist spoke up in apology almost immediately and certainly before any could have objected to what she was doing because of the pronounced sense of politeness with which she was raised, and didn’t even have a chance to recognise the rather resplendent image of the soul she had bumped into until after she had confessed her guilt and the reasons behind it as well…

A few murmurs among the crowd told Sayama his kindness was not being reciprocated well by his fellow passengers. Stopping and letting the litterer aboard was wasting time, even if the train was on a schedule and wouldn't leave for a few minutes at least.
Sayama felt something at his back as he waited for his turn to board. It didn't feel like somebody trying to get his attention, but at the same time, it didn't feel like somebody trying to hurt him either. As somebody who spent a majority of his free time willingly getting hit, it was actually a nice change of pace. Naturally, he had to turn around to investigate the source. In the back of his mind, he'd hoped it was some kind of scuffle he could break up, one where two combatants were shoving each other around and bumping into people...
Instead it was just a seemingly ordinary woman, one who had already sputtered out an apology as quickly as she'd bumped into him. Sayama wasn't one to hold somebody's mistakes against them, especially one as innocent as this, so he waved off the accident as such, "Don't worry about it. Maybe put a leash on the ole' mind, though. My mind wanders all the time, but a million miles away just sounds dangerous,"
He'd already held up the impatient business folk on their daily commute, but Sayama was in no rush to get home. Before he turned back towards the train, he added, "If that was an elaborate scheme to board before me," He beckoned forward to let the distracted woman cut in front of him, "Mission success. Ladies first," Sayama had never bumped into somebody before, so he could only imagine the embarrassment that would come from something like that. It was the least he could do to let her pass and forget the interaction ever happened.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “No need to be concerned, while my mind may be used to venturing far and wide I know it well enough to understand it will usually come back when I need it~?” The innocent accident of the academic angel certainly not the sort of deed that she expected to earn her much ire but at the same time such an assumption not leaving her wholly prepared for a rather charming little reply from the man either, while Miss Sequoia was confident and skilled enough with her wit that she could take his joke in her stride and offer one of her own in reply, she still found herself just a tiny bit stunned by the man’s cool reply. And then there was what he looked like. Now he’s got an unusual look to him, hasn’t he~? Green skin, and that hair… Looks a little off, doesn’t it~? VERY interesting, isn’t it~? A hint of hunger probably showing in the eyes of the brainy blonde as she paused for a moment and took in the fact that she was currently speaking to a hulking figure with skin as green as the grass of a summer meadow, while many in this age might have responded to such unusual features with awkwardness or even disgust, this particularly woman proved herself to be different given the delight and intrigue that such an image gave her. “Oh my, and a gentleman twice over, perhaps I am not the one here with the scheme in mind~?” Fascinated from the first second she saw this stranger up close and because of that almost immediately tucking her pad back into her bag as she gazed at that verdant visage, though she was somewhat transfixed the blue eyed biologist beamed again when it seemed that she was being treated with a cute sense of chivalry, she nodded at the simple priority she was shown by this plant-like man and hopped onto the train in front of him but did not march so deeply into it that they might become separated. “Because if it’s to work your way into my heart, you are most certainly succeeding~?” Perhaps there seats for the folk who needed them deeper past the door but for the moment Sophie finding that she was far more intrigued by this exotic individual than she was the chance to take the weight off the heels she was wearing, once both herself and the sagey soul were aboard the car she glanced over her shoulder and offered a playful little line to him as his reward for the gesture he had shown her, and honestly was not wholly goofing around as she did so. After all, lovely mutations were becoming a bit of a fetish for her by this point. Looking for a new subject and someone like this happens to fall into my lap? Should I…? That sapphire stare hardly seeming to leave the leafy coloured lad once the train had gotten underway again either, Miss Sequoia couldn’t help but show the bad habits of her obsession with quirks as she continued to eye the emerald emperor for several seconds, all while weighing up mentally whether she would seem too forward with her intentions if she ‘picked him up’ right here and now in the hopes of getting to know him and that marvellous mutation that little bit better. “The name’s Sophie, by the way… And you~?” Ultimately though the sort who couldn’t resist the impulse to indulge her curiosity and because of that opting to take the plunge as it were and see if she could get him to warm up to the idea of helping her with her research at some point, after pausing the scholarly siren shook her hair out and stepped close enough to him to offer not only her name but her hand as well, shining with a smile as she introduced herself and took the first step in seeing if she could snare the beryl brillance before her…

While he waited for the blonde to accept his offer to cut in line, she proposed the idea that Sayama had some kind of trick up his sleeve of his own. What was she talking about? He figured he was already letting one person pass, why not let another-? 'Oh no. I totally sent the wrong message.'Sayama was just naturally a calm, cool, and collected individual, but he usually had a better read on his actions and what implications they had. On the contrast, though, Sayama had too much pride to outright object to the accusations. He'd have to be more subtle about it than someone else might've. His goal of getting home to fix the window screen had distracted him from the present. They weren't even around, but the flies had struck once again, presenting a new problem he didn't expect to encounter during his errand run. Seeing the predicament he was in - trapped inside a metal tube headed for a single destination - Sayama couldn't exactly make up an excuse to get out of any further interaction. Plus he was way too nice to simply ignore the scientist for the duration of the train ride. Once the train arrived at the next stop, maybe then he'd be able to make a break for it. Until then, he'd have to be at the mercy of this social interaction. Overreaction aside, Sayama tried to look at the bright side. Maybe a good chat was exactly what he needed to take his mind off the broken window that had been plaguing him for the past two weeks. Sayama allowed the seats around him to fill up by other passengers as he opted to stand. Finally, the train departed from the station. At first, Sayama just stared out the window at the Tokyo cityscape. All the while, the biologist's piercing blue eyes never seemed to leave the green giant's vicinity. He was used to getting weird looks and some occasional stares, but this was almost an entirely new level. He must've sent the wrong message after all. Gradually, Sayama's eyes started to drift away from the window towards his secret admirer. Unlike her, Sayama wasn't trying to analyze the researcher like a rare specimen. Rather, he was just trying to see what her deal was. His initial impression of her was just an ordinary citizen of Tokyo, but even upon further inspection, that's all she seemed to be. As far as he could tell, the blonde-haired woman really was just amazed by his appearance, 'Plant skin, flowers in my hair, that's all I got, lady. I know I'm interesting, but I cannot be that interesting,' He thought. After what seemed like an eternity, even though it was only a matter of minutes at most, the woman moved closer and introduced herself. She even extended her hand for a shake, which he reciprocated with a smile. At the same time he answered, "Sayama-" Abruptly, he added, "-do you mind if I ask you something, Soph?" Sayama didn't have it in his heart to lead the poor woman on too long. Once given the okay, he leaned forward and quietly asked, "I mean this in the kindest way possible, so don't take it the wrong way: Do you want to take a picture? It'd last longer," The question was barely audible through the chatter of the train, especially not to an ordinary bystander, but Sophie should've been able to hear it with no problems.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Oh, then it’s a pleasure to meet you, Sayama~” Smiling and letting her soft grip hang off that of the green gentleman for a second or two, Sophie was delighted to get the acquaintance of this enthralling, emerald skinned young man and beamed happily because of it, but also found a certain side of her character lurching upward as well. “So, Sophie and Sayama… The SAS~?” Sauvé and even sexy when she wanted to be but at her heart a big dorky geek as well, the sapphire eyed siren couldn’t help but feel no shortage of amusement as she lingered on the alliterative quality that was shared between her names, and pointed out the fact playfully as she continued to admire the amazing image that her new friend presented before her. “Oh, you really… You really wouldn’t mind?” Perhaps a little taken by surprise when he next seemed to offer her the chance to take a photograph of that vibrant and verdant visage, naivete and excitement got the better of Miss Sequoia as Sayama give her something she could only dream of, and she was quickly plucking her phone from her pocket in order to carry out the deed without even realizing that it had been given to her more as a joke than anything else. “Goodness, I mean I’m sorry to stare but you really are beautiful… Do you know that?” Not entirely seeming to miss the fact that something about the act was a little bit off and in her own way seeming to pick up on the fact that her interest might have been a bit over the top, the brainy blond nodded as she tried to offer the young man a little explanation for her enthusiasm toward him, though it took her a moment to recognise the fact that the way she was speaking and acting could have been interpreted in a certain kind of way. “Hehehehe, sorry, that probably sounds like a come on. It wasn’t intended to, not entirely at least~?” Chuckling as she suddenly seemed to realize that her wording might have carried just a hint of innuendo about it, though Sophie didn’t entirely mind such a fact when one took in the impressive image of the man she opted to correct herself in a manner of speaking, while also keeping just a hint of playfulness about her tone as well. “I’m actually a researcher, into quirks and the like, and so… I can’t help but feel fascinated by your image, and the implications therein~?” Smiling and licking her lips as she clarified that her interest in the leafy lad was at least in part professional in its origin, the blue eyed beauty knew that it would be easy to scoff at such a story given their situation and as such began to fish in her bag a moment later to produce a nice business card from it which bore both her name and job title as well as an address and phone number she could be found at, and would have been happy to let him keep it if he felt so inclined to do so…

This train ride had become infinitely more interesting than Sayama ever could have imagined. He initially just wanted to get home and fix his window, but now he was engaged in a conversation that actually took his mind away from that issue for the time being. Was this really a blessing in disguise? He nodded and confirmed, "Nice to meet you, too," Sophie seemed like she was in her own world, toying with the alliteration of their two names. She made herself stand out from the rest of the passengers, that was for sure.
His comment about taking a picture was taken much more literally than Sayama anticipated, only adding to the idea that this lady was crazy, "Take all the pictures you want. Doesn't bother me any," If it helped her sleep at night, Sayama was willing to pose for photos. It was the least he could do.
She explained part of her staring was due to his beauty. That particular word was one Sayama typically reserved for nature, which he... was(?) in a way. That was his goal, at least. Even so, it was the first time he'd received that particular compliment, "Beautiful? That's a new one, but I appreciate it; definitely going on the resumé," It was shades different from the 'weirdo,' 'freak,' and 'vegan,' he was used to, but it was a confidence booster for sure. Not that Sayama needed such a boost, since he'd learned to embrace his appearance long ago.
His new acquaintance added her comments were not meant to be a come on (partially) so Sayama started to relax a little bit. He waved his hand dismissively, "Don't worry about it, you're not too bad yourself. There, now we're even," Sophie wasn't part plant, but Sayama was an honest man. Besides, he felt something of a civic duty to somehow pay a compliment back after he received one. Hopefully things were strictly professional from there on out, but Sayama wasn't going to get his hopes up.
Sophie explained her interest further, one that actually made the whole situation make a lot more sense. Sophie was not just an overly curious businesswoman like Sayama had expected. She was actually some kind of researcher, so a walking/talking plant man was obviously going to catch her eye. Her personality was different than what Sayama pictured when he thought 'scientist,' but knowing her intentions helped put his mind at ease.
Sayama would have taken her word for it without a second thought, but Sophie handed him a piece of card stock to validate her claims. He took her business card and skimmed over it before he slipped it into his pocket, "Sophie Sequoia, Quirk Researcher, huh? Sounds a lot better than Sayama Mame, Flower Shop Clerk," He joked in regards to his own profession. Must have been nice to have a true career rather than a job. Then again, he got a lot of free time, so maybe it was a trade-off.
"Sorry if it seems ignorant, but what does a Quirk researcher do? Sounds like it could get a bit overwhelming. I mean, Tokyo alone has enough variation to fill its own catalog; I couldn't imagine trying to document all that," Sayama tried to wrap his non-scientific mind around such a task, but it was too much for him to think about. Leave the big thinking for the smart folks.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Heeheehee, what else could someone call such an elegant emerald colour~?” Amused when it seemed that Sayama was surprised by her choice of words, though ‘beautiful’ wasn’t exactly the most masculine term for a mountain of a man like this Miss Sequoia stuck to her guns and smiled, showing perhaps a sense of innocence as she reaffirmed the fact that such a compliment was not bound by modern conventions in her mind. “Ohhhh my, certainly trying to work your way into my good graces, aren’t you~?” It seeming that she was not the only one dishing out praise however, the blonde beamed and giggled a little as her beryl buddy offered his own gruff return to her remark, and as such couldn’t help but offer up a teasing little comment given her joke earlier on. “Well, I suppose that depends on what your needs are~?” Smiling to herself as she spied the way that her new friend seemed to pocket the card she had given him, while it was certainly not the biggest sign that he was willing to come to her for study or something it did hold at least a little significance for Sophie since it seemed like an acceptance and perhaps a hint of willing to entertain the idea, however, she did have to object in a playful manner when he pointed out that her role seemed that much more impressive than his own floral endeavours. “I’m a poor producer of Ikebana, for instance~” Shaking her head and smirking as she highlighted the idea that everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses, the sapphire eyed siren saw no shame in having a more modest profession than she did, since she firmly believed that everyone should follow their passion, whatever it was. If that was cutting and arranging lovely blooms, then she was all for it, and would have considered it just as much of a calling as her own academic ambitions. “Oh, well isn’t that part of the goodness? The place is like a treasure trove for a maniac like me~?” That blue gaze sparkling with excitement when next Sayama seemed to try to say that Tokyo was a problem due to the sheer number of quirkers there, where some might have seen adversity Miss Sequoia saw opportunity, and she approached such a throng of potential subjects for study with a strong sense of zeal and enthusiasm. “Mostly I tend to study willing subjects to help myself, and them, understand the gifts they’ve been given? Quirk’s are still really new, so the more information we get on individuals and their mechanisms, the more we understand them as a whole?” Almost tempted to ask the man right there whether he wanted to join the number of folk she had fawned over in her lab but deciding it was better to give him more information on what she did before she did so given how curious he seemed, the blonde lapsed a little into monologue as she continued to gush with excitement over the task in front of her, and by this stage was probably being rather convincing in her accidental aim of convincing him that she might just have been the biggest quirk nerd in all of Japan, or possibly even the whole world…
