[nospaces] [attr="class","wassup1dangerhead"] [attr="class","wassup1dangerbody"] [attr="class","wassup1dangericon"] [attr="class","wassup1dangertxt"] It stung, being scolded by a pro – somebody she was training to become and surpass. Not that Emi let it show. ‘Never let them see you hurting’ was a lesson she lived by, and passed on to any budding hero. Perhaps a flinch may have been better than the response she gave, however… Which was none at all. After all, she’d already corrected her sarcasm before the woman had spoken up. Emi knew better than to add fuel to the fire by pointing that out, but it left her without much to say. Besides apologising. Hah. Just the thought of it made her mental voice chuckle.[break][break]
She could have gone without the boy being ordered to assist her, but hey, she did need the help. And so the boy was welcomed with a lazy wave, just in time for him to walk elsewhere. Oh. Well, a girl with her reputation didn’t get far without learning to ignore the haters, and she had endured far worse than a sulking teen. “You know, if you want the best pictures, it’d help if we all at least tried to look like we were helping each other.” Her tone, seemingly unaffected by his attitude, managed to sound a little mocking all the same. Maybe having to raise her voice to be heard had something to do with it. It wasn’t his fault though. Well, not entirely.[break][break]
There they were, a bunch of heroes and would-be heroes, supposedly working on the same task but refusing to help each other do it. “I mean, working together, separately, isn’t great for a show… Or for actually getting work done, am I right?” Her gaze flicked towards the pair of pros. Most students would let her play leader without much push-back, but in the presence of adults (plus whoever that masked guy was), she reminded herself to sound a little less authoritative… or maybe just less condescending.[break][break]
“How about it?” Salt she had been using to push the debris fell to the ground, lifeless. It only took a few steps for her to stop beside what could be loosely described as a car. There was no mistaking that it had once been a vehicle, but rocks and metal crashing into its top and side had left it inoperable, and subsequently abandoned in the middle of the path. She parked the sole of her foot against its front grille, turning to the group at large. “I’m going to need a lot of help moving this out of the way,” she called – and lied. Anybody paying attention could hazard a guess that if her quirk could hold a bronze statue, what was left of a vehicle couldn’t have been much harder…[break][break]
But it’d make for a great photo op, right?

Kiersa nodded at the woman, happy to have been able to at least offer them something to eat and drink even if they didn't need any medical aid due to their own Quirk. "I'm i-in the s-same boat Miss..." the blonde girl began to admit, even as Miss Haymaker arrived next to them. "My Q-Quirk can h-heal wounds a-and shine a l-light... but th-that's about it. I'm n-not even that s-strong, not l-like everyone e-else here." she said with an almost despondent sigh.
The young girl then took a slow breath, got to her feet and gave her cheeks a resounding smack. "B-But, I've g-got to try r-right?" she asked both of the older women, before giving a polite bow towards the pair of them. "I'm Kiersa Bec b-by the w-way. S-Sorry for n-not introducing m-myself earlier Miss." she said, apologising to the civilian woman. With that said, she bowed once more and went off in search of a broom or a brush.
She could see that Emi and Desmoshi were combining their efforts and Quirks to demolish and reduce the rubble around them into much more manageable pieces, and so the maid in her immediately began to look for a way to clean up their efforts so they could move on to the next stage of fixing up the place as quickly as they could.
When Miss Emi called out for some help in moving a car, Kiersa quickly made her way over and bowed. "H-How can I h-help Emi-senpai?" she asked the older third year student. She had never tried to move a car before, and didn't exactly know how to make one... well, start. But whatever Miss Emi asked her to do to help out, Kiersa would try her best to accomplish the task.
She didn't want to disappoint any of the older students, or the teachers that were here, and definitely not any of the work crews or other civilians.

Perry found himself lightly scratching his chin for a few moments as he contemplated on what the other pro had spoke of. She wanted the pros present to aid in clearing out a bar they were not only going to clean and remove debris from but allowed to salvage things still usable it seemed as well.It was quite the enticing proposal to say the least he thought to himself. He wondered what special or interesting bottles might be stashed away within the rubble. Plus the intrigue of once cleared possibly helping in the rebuilding also gave his small tinkering mind allot to wonder and expand upon. His imagination taking some strong control before he himself would dive into things shortly after there as well.
"How intriguing!" He'd say as a simple answer but with a bit of gusto and excitement to it nonetheless. He would quickly skitter by R.J. on his way inside moving past a few rubble seemingly heading into the chaos of the destruction curious what he might find as the little fuzzy hero moved by her on all fours heading into the room. If it wasn't for the fact they already knew who and what he was it would have likely looked like a normal animal skittering in to make a home out of the new rubble.

Desmoshi thought about the words of Bobby Joe long and hard. No, he didn't want to be a hero that was focused on being strict and the rules. But right now, everyone wanted him to follow said rules. Maybe his sister wouldn't have gotten hurt in the riots. Between that and the Disciplinary Committee questioning him about the entire situation, Desmoshi did not get to much rest in the coming months. He thought he could fix it. Resolve conflict by helping others and get the place back in order.
But now seeing the city in ruins again, it felt a little disheartening to Desmoshi. It seemed like he was doing it over and over again, with not much result to show for it. On top of that, it felt like fewer and fewer people wanted to help fix the situation. As though they were comfortable with how things were. And it bugged him. He felt like he had to be the mature one, a person dedicated to helping others. But he just didn't know why he felt that way. He used to know but now he wasn't too sure.
As Desmoshi passed the rocks for one of the workers to eat it with his quirk, Emi came over remarking about getting the pictures of them working together would be a whole lot better. Desmoshi could sense a little bit of a mocking tone so he tsked at the idea before moving to another rock. If she was only coming to mock him, he was better off getting it done by himself. He had enough that already these past few months.
She made another remark about how working together would not be too much of a great show. "Well, I wasn't doing for a show, to begin with," Desmoshi said smashing another boulder. "I was doing this to help people. You know, make them feel reassured after being attack twice by quirkers in the past few months." It bugged him that only three pros showed up to even help out in the first place. You think more of them would be out here to help. Maybe they had other important matters to intend to. Who knows?
It was the second part that caught Desmoshi off guard. The girl was actually a little less condescending on this part offering to work together instead of separate. It kind of made Desmoshi feel like a jackass for how he acted earlier. Desmoshi took a deep breath and gave a small smile. "Sure, we can give it a shot," he said. "I'm Desmoshi, by the way."
She directed over to the car that seemed to have seen better days, with it being covered in debris and all. Desmoshi could move by himself but... "We need to remove some of the metal and rocks first before trying to lift this thing. I think I have a pile over there for damage vehicles we can move it to." He called out to one of the workers. "Hey, Ironjaws!" The man with the metal jaws came trouncing overseeing the situation and begin eating the rocks and metal debris as though it was food for him. "The crazy part is that's his actual name," Desmoshi said with a small laugh as the man cleared it away preparing for the car to be moved.
As soon as Ironjaws finished his meal, more twenty students came onto the scene. "What you need, Desmoshi?" they asked him. "Well, we could use some help lifting this car," Desmoshi said, knocking on the metal. "And we have a road to clear out. I think my aunt and a few more adults are going to take care of the buildings."
As he directed the students on where to go, Desmoshi looked at Emi and the other five students. "Okay," Desmoshi said getting on one side of the car. A little bit of steam left his nose as he gripped the bottom of it. "Everyone picks a side and lift. We only have to move this a few feet into the spot over there." He nodded over to the designated zone. Once everyone was in position, Desmoshi counted down. "3, 2, 1... lift!"
They picked up the car together, carrying it over and setting in the designated area. When they tried setting it down, Desmoshi felt a sharp cut across his hand and yelled, "Crap!" He held out his hand to see a large gash across, bleeding profusely.

RJ nodded at the woman with a smile. "Glad to hear it," RJ said. She turned to the first year. "Kiersa," she said with a smile, "if you can, can you be a dear and take care of the other students?" She pointed near the group of students that have come in, receiving instructions from Desmoshi and Emi. "They may need some healing. God knows Desmoshi gets hurt more time than none." Hopefully, the two students were finally coming to terms with one another. It seemed like the two might have gotten off on a rocky start. But hey- teenagers will be teenagers. Even if those teenagers had a bunch of dangerous powers, according to the tabloids. But then again, they have forgotten that these children were still children, and they didn't make the choices to be this way.
But now wasn't the time to think about that. She looked at the woman. "You can help with picking up small debris if you like," RJ said with a smile. "We are keeping some quirk usage to a minimum, though. So jump in where you feel comfortable." She wouldn't force the woman to help if she didn't want to. This was voluntary, to be honest. She looked over at Perry. "So what you think about that building over there?" she asked the possum hero as he drew up blueprints. "Think it's safe enough for just to enter and clear out?"

Juana looked at the girl curiously "Are you?" she asked as she did not get what she meant. And then she further elaborated that her quirk can heal wounds and shine a light. But thats it. Not strong like anyone else. Juana got "Ahh, I see I see. I am similar. I control the cold, but I can also regenerate my wounds. It is a little trait inherited from my father. And I am looking for him. But that is not here nor there. Strength. That is what we are talking about. Do not worry if you are not as strong as your peers. Strength is not just something physical. You are strong, but in a different way" she said kindly to Kiersa Soon the Pro Hero arrived asking if things were okay. "My my. Very much so miss. This young lady is doing an excellent job in assisting me" Juana happily said to Unity with a smile on her face. But sadly she soon gave an order to Kiersa to help all other students. She turned to Kiersa who spoke and introduced herself. Ah right, introductions were a thing. Juana offered her a hand to shake. "My name is Juana Fernandez. A pleasure to meet you, Kiersa" Juana spoke to her. If Kiersa shook her hand, she would feel that Juana secretly gave her something. It was yen, a small amount. It was a gift as a token of appreciation. After all, good deeds do not go unrewarded. Kindness goes a long way. Anywho as Kiersa left to help her friends, it was just Juana and Unity who was still there. Juana looked at her. "My my, what a splendid young one. She shows great promise. I cant wait to see her shine" she said to Unity as she told her a small comment about Kiersa. The hero said she can pick up small debris, but they are keeping quirk usage to a minimum. Ah such a shame. Juana simply nodded to the hero

He hadn't waited to long listening as sometime Perry had a rather short attention span. Not only from his special racing brain moving from idea to idea. He sniffed and seemed to move quickly his small suited fuzzy frame moved from spot to spot. He was like a quickly moving speedy ball of fur moving from spot to spot curious of what could be easily cleaned or even 'salvaged' so to speak. He seemed to vanish even at some points popping from spot to spot able to squeeze into tiny spots that others couldn't fit or even hope to reach given in size comparison a tiny possum could fit in far small spots then a human could ever hope to fit in.
He seemed to distract himself quite a bit when he was into his tasks. Only stopping to briefly think of the best way to remove this piece of rubbish or that. Carefully doing so to avoid any accidents or dangerous situations given how unstable rubble could be at times in its dismantling and removals. He seemed to have already been moving when RJ tried to speak to him. Possum would be rather quickly he was never one known to sit still to long... unless food was involved of course.

[nospaces] [attr="class","wassup1dangerhead"] [attr="class","wassup1dangerbody"] [attr="class","wassup1dangericon"] [attr="class","wassup1dangertxt"]
A few words were enough to draw her peers over. It was great for the task at hand, and even greater for Emi’s pride – who knew how many more blows it could withstand? The elf was the first to approach, requesting guidance that her elder was all too happy to give. At least, that was what her self-assured smile said.[break][break]
“A hero-in-training plays to their strengths!” There was a pause, barely a second long, where Emi realised that she had no idea what the girl’s strengths were. Some students were loud and proud about their talents; others were cursed with no say in showing them. Kiersa, as far as she knew, was neither, unless she was meant to conclude ‘enhanced hearing’ from those ears.[break][break]
No matter. A few years of livestreaming had taught her a few things about bullshitting improvising. “And yours, from what I can see, include moral support! Sound right?” Surely the gift of sandwiches and kind words marked the girl as optimistic, or at least supportive. If not, heck, at least she’d been given a good compliment. “Nothing wrong with doling that out, if you don’t think your quirk’s the best for something like this. Of course, if you’re hiding a six-pack under there, you can help us move some of this stuff aside.” A finger waggled at Kiersa’s torso, mostly for Emi’s amusement. Something about the girl’s demeanour told her that physical strength wasn’t her forte, but she’d been surprised by quirks before.[break][break]
That left the other student – one she’d apparently left a poor impression on. If that bothered her, she’d yet to let it show. He wouldn’t be the first peer of hers to get the wrong idea from her, and no doubt, he’d be far from the last. One of the ‘perks’ of being outspoken, or a leader, or a little too blunt for people’s tastes. Definitely not a problem with her personally. His words only confirmed that in her mind. Her smile wavered some, weakened, but not killed. He claimed he wasn’t looking to make a spectacle, and her eyes narrowed just a touch. If a child had asked their mother why the sky was blue, for the fourth time that week, then they might have seen the same slight narrowing of the eyes that Emi gave him.[break][break]
Not mad. Just a little disappointed, that it wasn’t as obvious to him as it was to her.[break][break]
“You’re rolling with the assumption that you can’t do both.” Another pause, this time to filter out a comment about narrow-mindedness. Most people didn’t get it without being told, so how could she blame him? “What makes you so convinced that the sight of the next generation of heroes, banding together to help make heroes better, isn’t reassuring?” Hopefully, a question would be better at swaying his mind than the insult she’d had lined up; she gave herself a mental pat on the back for being so kind.[break][break]
“It’s all well and good, doing your bit to help out. Obviously we all know that, or we wouldn’t be here. But when the work’s done, and nobody’s documented anything, who will the people assume did the job? The construction crew? The city? Some random students from the school, because some pros might have said they did, with no proof?” She jerked a thumb over her shoulder at Unity and the Possu- Just Unity, as a glance back confirmed.[break][break]
Emi shook her head as she turned back to the boy. As calm as her voice remained, it was hard to miss that the words sounded rehearsed. How many times had she had to justify herself (or imagined doing so in her head)? “A picture says a thousand words in a second, and is a lot harder to argue with. Therefore, we – I – make myself seen, and therefore heard, so people remember that we were here. Helping. Doing the job when nobody asked us to. That’s what I call reassuring.” The pride in her tone is almost as clear as her preparedness, in case her swelling smile wasn’t enough of a giveaway.[break][break]
“Emi Ryoko Tachibana, in case you hadn’t heard already. This is kinda my thing.” If she’d done her job and made her presence known on campus, then the introduction would be unnecessary… But she’d already been humbled once that day.[break][break]
“Anyway. Work. Right.” Reinforcements reminded her that they had an actual job to do – and document. The stranger trying to make a meal out of the minerals threatened to distract her all over again, but living amongst mutants had made shrugging off such sights a little easier. Still, a single raised brow and a confused stare lingered on the man for a few moments before she moved…[break][break]
Back towards Kiersa. “I’ve thought of a way you can help, if you’re up for it. With everything I just said in mind, we need somebody to make sure there’s proof of us being here.” Her eyes bounce between the girl and her bag as her hands shuffle within, pulling out her DSLR. “I’ll sort out the settings, so all you’ll need to do is press the button when we’re lifting.” Emi gave up on looking at the girl altogether, opting to stand beside her and point the camera at the car. Dials turned and buttons pressed altered the lighting, focus, zoom and tone until there were only two things left for her to do. “Just point and shoot.” She offered the camera up to the little lady without waiting for her agreement. Whether or not Kiersa accepted, Emi set off once again.[break][break]
Manual labour had never been Emi’s specialty, nor was it her preference. Had it been her and Desmoshi on the job alone, it would have been easy for her to justify using her power to help them. The extra bodies were great for a photo op, but they meant she’d have to get her hands dirty. Literally. Her smile finally left her as she stood beside the front of the car, bent her knees, reached under the car, and drew salt from her palms to help hoist the thing up.[break][break]
Did anybody really think a girl of her stature was going to lift a car? Granted, she had the sense to keep her quirk discreet; between the half-dozen students moving, and the shadow of the car itself, it would take a keen eye to catch the crystals separating her hands and the vehicle. Once they dropped it at its destination, gravity took control of her salt too, leaving her to draw suspiciously clean hands out from underneath. She’d fared better than Desmoshi, at least, who’d earned himself a nasty wound for his work. “Oh, shit. Errrrrrr-“ Cool confidence was quick to flee the scene, leaving a dumbfounded, near-frozen student. “That’s fine. Fine. We’ve got this. It’s not deadly. Please tell me there’s a first aid kit somewhere in the rubble.”
