❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤It was a three-story brick building in the heart of Tokyo. The architecture style gave off a classic feel amidst the rest of the trendy shops in the surrounding area. That made it stand out in its own cute and curious way. There were no trucks or any vehicles parked outside this time. Unlike the mostly bare appearance from a few days ago, beyond the glass panels, most of the furniture, shelves, displays, and the like were already set up, albeit empty. The chocolate making had yet to begin. But outside the store was a small sign that announced that Maison Azusa was opening soon. On the third floor was the main office of the hero agency operated by the pro hero Valentine. The heroine herself was sitting behind her desk organizing the reports she would send to the PSC later on her latest activities. She wanted to finish doing so before her special guest arrived. It was another student from UA but unlike last time, it was a third year, so they were looking for an apprenticeship? She honestly wasn't sure about the difference aside from being more long term. From her perspective, a third year UA student had the same if not more experience studying hero things as she did. Was she really the best choice for something like an apprenticeship? It was a different kind of worry from the first time. Anyway she had sent them the usual business-like acceptance note with directions to her agency and today's date and time. Satisfied with her work, she headed downstairs as it was almost time for her guest to arrive. The shop and displays may have looked empty but they were kept clean and pristine. She had the last of her equipment delivered the other day too so she ought to be ready for production in a few days or so. Thankfully after the last major incident, her hero workload hadn't been too heavy which was perfect. She needed a day or two off for the opening. It wasn't much but she decided to quickly prepare some hot chocolate for her guest. Simple as it was, she had her own personal mix and brew. She took pride in making her own chocolate after all so even something like this had her trademark. A sweet and distinct aroma would fill the shop as she went to work. Should her guest arrive, they would find her just in time putting the finishing touches on the cups.

Yumi had been doing better with managing her timetables as of late and with that she'd been trying to finally nudge some of the heroes she'd signed up for apprenticeships with. Of course she wanted to get more of a wide-reaching experience so she'd applied to multiple heroes and teachers to try and expand the scope of her experiences. Today she'd managed to get the chance to work with the chocolateer hero Valentine. She didn't know what to expect really, whether she'd be working with the young woman in form of field work or... well, whatever else might be on the table.
She wore her hero costume on the train ride over to their hero offices, the bottom floor apparently being a shop of some kind which, made some sense she supposed. With a license to use your quirk to manipulate chocolate you may as well make the most of it that you could. She had on the average version of her costume since it wasn't too warm or too cold. The normal edition of her costume consisted of leggings with shoe like soles and a midrift exposing top half with sleeves that flowed into fingerless gloves, covering a reasonable amount of skin but also allowing her some flexibility in how she moved and expressed herself. Atop that she just wore a simple hoodie jacket hanging on her shoulders to keep herself mostly warm and provide a bit of normalcy to the ensemble... like someone trying to cover a cosplay on their way to a convention. Something she was far from unused to.
Dipping her head into the store below the offices, she glanced around before spotting the young heroine. it had been a while since she signed up to work with them so it took a moment before she remembered this was the heroine herself, she just looked... extremely young. Okay, first Aquitaine now Valentine... she almost hoped she'd remain young forever once she hit hero age. Maybe once you signed up with the government you got the option to sell your soul for eternal youth. So far all signs pointed to that being the case. A-anyway-
"Hi! I'm Yumi Tasukai, I'll be your apprentice for today Valentine-Sensei~" She dipped her head in a low bow and lifted up with a warm smile, her arms linked behind her back and holding a strong pose to try and put her best foot forward on this introduction.

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤She wasn't expecting any other visitors that day so when the door chime rang signaling that someone entered the shop, she wasn't too surprised to see that it was the apprentice she had been waiting for. The first thing she noticed was that young lady was almost a foot taller than she was. She had heard before that UA had a fair amount of foreign students attending, but Yumi Tasukai didn't sound like someone who wasn't Japanese. A half maybe? Azusa may have been shorter than most, but that was precisely why she could tell when someone was above average at a glance. She stopped what she was doing to greet the girl, walked over to shake their hands. "Welcome, Tasukai-san! It's nice to finally meet you. Please have a seat anywhere you like."There were a lot of chairs and tables so they could pull up any chair and settle down. Once Yumi did so, she would walk back to the counter and then return with the hot chocolate she had been prepping moments ago. "I guess hot chocolate isn't really in season. But I wouldn't be much of a chocolatier if I couldn't serve great chocolate all year round."She would joke before taking a seat herself. She didn't show it but she was fairly nervous about mentoring a third year. They were just a step away from becoming full-fledged heroes like her but as the youngest member of her previous agency she never really got to experience showing the ropes to a junior. She had her mind set to treat them like that. She was aware that they would have already undertaken internships in their second year so working with a hero was nothing new. "Sorry about the shop looking a little bare. There's still a few days before the opening so I'm in the middle of making preparations. I promise things will look a lot better once we officially start operations."
"Anyway, welcome again to my humble agency. I'm the Chocolate Hero, Valentine. I'm fairly new to hero work in Japan, but hopefully there's something I can teach you nonetheless."She smiled. She figured they probably came here knowing all that already but she still wanted to say it herself. She didn't want to give off the impression that she wasn't aware of her own position. From her chats with her colleagues, students took these apprenticeships and internships with the intention of gaining experience. Something she didn't have as much of compared to most. But if they would have her, then she would do what she can to make their stay worthwhile. "So, let's talk about you. I'm actually really curious about student life in UA. When the school first opened I was in the middle of my own studies abroad. I'd never even considered doing hero work until half a year after that. So in some ways you're my senior too. Funny how things like that happen. But yes, tell me about yourself, interesting personal trivia, aspirations, why you're interested in following a fairly fresh hero around."The floor was Yumi's.

Yumi dipped her head in greeting to the technically older woman greeting her, trying to show her some respect even if the odd nature of her appearance was a little… off, in the same veign that the commander of fort slog looked about her rage and tended to throw her off in that respect too. Still she was sure to not let it show as any signs of disrespect, and at the offer to take up a seat she’d reach for a nearby one by the window, pulling herself up and getting comfortable, wondering what her mentor for the day was doing before letting out a gentle chuckle as she noticed the hot chocolate. Seemed a lot of her would be mentors liked to greet their apprentices in a comfortable environment.
“Guess you wouldn’t be no.~” She playfully responded, taking the hot chocolate in hand, the fingerless gloves of her hero costume helping make sure that even if it was hot she didn’t burn too easily, blowing some of the stream off the top before taking a soft sip. “Mmm… besides. On a nice cool day who can’t enjoy a nice bit of hot chocolate hm?~”
As she spoke about the shop looking a little bare, she glanced around the place, not really thinking much of it. If anything she thought it was just designed to look a little room and simplistic, but it turned out the place wasn’t even open yet which… well, apart from the fact sd she might be out today doing hero work with Yumi, did explain why it was so devoid of customers. “Oh don’t worry about it. I mean this is better than you, say, inviting me to a messy apartment. I heard some people interning with Red Horn got that introduction to her.~” in truth she didn’t judge anyone on a messy home but it was an easy enough joke to hopefully put her mentor for the day at ease. “You should maybe send me a message through the UA chat though when it’d ready. I’d love to drop by.~ Always had a bit of a sweet tooth myself.”
She took another quiet sip of her hot chocolate when the floor on matters was given to her, raising her brow as she swallowed back her tasty sip. Seemed the woman before her wanted to know about her experience as a student. “Heheheh. Actually that’s a big thing about my career going forward. I’ve been studying with a night course on teaching in the hopes UA might accept me as a teacher when I graduate? I think it’s only right that, as one of the first formally educated heroes, I try and teach the generation that follows, ya know? I suppose that covers aspirations… trivia wise I do some part time work for ASTA as a model? That’s been pretty fun and I’m hoping to continue that when I’m a hero.”
She gestured across with a playful smile. “How about you? Do I get a trivia dose about my mentor for the day?~”

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤"I haven't met Red Horn in person, but I heard she was also a teacher. I guess even a top hero can have their hands full with things that they end up neglecting their apartment a bit."Maybe because of her diligent personality, Azusa was also kind of a clean freak. Messy kitchens were a big no and she liked to make sure things were orderly and in their proper places. The shop may have looked bare, but every piece of furniture and display was organized in their proper spots. "And yes I'll be sure to send you an invite. It's taking me a while cause I'm organizing everything myself. I really should get some part-timers soon, but that's yet another thing I haven't found the time to do."
"Oh, but that's not something you should worry about. This internship thing is hero work too so I don't really consider it a bother at all."A model? She gave the redhead an appraising look. The girl certainly and the looks and the figure. While she had never personally bought or used anything by ASTA, she had seen the name from time to time on TV or in the papers. It was one of those big corporations that dabbled in a lot of businesses. As far as she knew modeling jobs paid quite handsomely. She couldn't help but be impressed. It was also nice to hear that Yumi was aspiring to become a teacher. All the other pro heroes she had met so far had been UA instructors. And from what she had seen from them and their work ethic, it wasn't surprising that there would be students who might look up to them and aspire to be like them one day. She was like that. Her teacher in chocolate was someone she respected and admired very much. And to be acknowledged by such a person was her greatest pride. Still, a teacher, model, and hero? I here she thought she was juggling quite a bit already between her setting up her shop and hero work. She was almost worried if the girl was biting off more than they could chew. Well, if the agency was any decent then they would know not to overwork a student. Yumi described it as fun so it was hard to think that the job was a source of stress for the girl. All things considered, it seemed she landed quite the student as an apprentice. "A trivia about me? Let's see. Well, I became a hero by accident. I only just returned to Japan a few months ago. Before that I had been studying abroad in Europe. I got caught up in a little incident a couple of years ago as a civilian and ended up saving a lot of people. Next thing I knew, the local hero agency was on my phone calling about scouting me."
"It was quite a dilemma for me back then. Chocolate-making was my passion you see. That's what I was studying abroad for. I wasn't sure if I could handle both. But after interning with them for a few months, I found out that I liked it too. And so here I am, a hero and chocolatier in one."If there was one thing she learned as an artist of her craft, it was that you could find inspiration and motivation anywhere. You never know what might trigger your passion. For her, hero work tugged at just the right strings. She couldn't give it up. She couldn't give up chocolate either. And now she had both. "So that said, I do hope you're enjoying that cup. It's just as much a part of me as this hero gig. And, well, I'd like people to know that I'm taking both very seriously."It wasn't intentional but after hearing all about what Yumi kept busy with, she felt a little competitive. It was really interesting meeting someone who devoted themselves to multiple things. A kindred spirit so to speak. She was already thinking about looking Yumi up some more later. Part of her felt that she should have done that beforehand but they were already here. "Can you tell me a bit about your past internships? I'm also curious about you've seen personally on the field. As you may or may not know, I'm a rescue hero so a lot of my own experience involves helping with disasters and saving people."

Yumi smiled warmly all the way through detailing her own situation. After talking with Mosa a fair bit she’d taken a bit of pressure off herself with that stuff. Sure she was still juggling a lot of balls but she’d learned it was okay if she wasn’t doing everything perfectly. Of course, when she was a real hero, that was the part of her life she could never let slip, but so long as she was competent and acceptable, she didn’t have to be perfect at all 3 at once. That was just a little unrealistic given how much she was trying to do.
“Heheheh, well I didn’t expect you to get my help fixing up the place if that’s what you think I’m worrying about. Still, it looks nice already, little sparse but it’s definitely coming along as far as I can tell.~”
She leaned back just a little, still mostly upright and a little formal with her senior for the day but at least showing she was getting more comfortable. Her eyes widened and she couldn’t help but chuckle pleasantly as she said her being a hero was a bit of an accident. “That’s kinda weirdly similar to myself? I mean, I wasn’t scouted for saving people but, my quirk used to be quite dangerous so I came to UA to learn to control it rather than actually be a hero but… I kinda just fell in love with it over time? I know the real world version is gonna be harder, more stressful but… well I can control my quirk now. Feels right to use it for something ya know?~”
She took another soft sip of her cup and hummed happily as she was asked if she was enjoying her cup, nodding a little more eagerly when it was lowered, but more so because- “Oh I get that entirely.~ I was stressing myself out a lot with the same thing until a few weeks back if I’m honest. As much as I want to be a teacher, a hero, a model… I worry if I’m any less than perfect in any career then I’ll be seem as a half hearted joke.” She lowered her gaze a bit, but thanks to Mosa’s work she was still smiling. “Still.. I realized I can’t be perfect at everything all of the time. I’m still gonna take anything seriously but… does no one any good if I’m unescarily hard on myself, right?”
She gave a small shrug, maybe the woman wouldn’t agree but… she was a little more content with herself these days.
Asked about her other internships, she tipped her head to the side, sadly recalling… well, she’d technically only ever had the two. “Well the first was… a lot more than I bargained for. I ended up getting in a hostage situation handled by two quirked girls around my own age. Was a bit of a mess really… Yellow Jacket’s letting us testify for the court cases surrounding them and help them legally if we can since… well you can’t always empathize with a villain, I know, but they really just seemed like girls who didn’t know how to safely let out their anger about something important to them…”
She didn’t go much more into that, for the girl’s sake. “As for the other it was more a training exercise. We did some work to help me control my quirk without my costume. A hard thing to do but we made some progress. Definitely not as ‘big’ as yellow jacket’s but it was useful in it’s own right…” She paused and lifted her head. “Have you ever taken on interns before?”

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤Balance was key in chasing multiple careers. It was definitely a bad sign if doing so was causing you too much stress. As long as the girl could still smile about it then Azusa figured it wasn't something to fret about, at least not at this time. "That's great to hear. It's really all about how you personally feel. If you're happy and the goals you're striving for are within your reach, then full steam ahead I say!"And if there was anyone who knew a lot about being harsh with themselves, it was her. But that was just her personality. Despite all the hardships, she never once felt that she wanted to quit being a chocolatier or a hero. Yumi still had plenty of time to think about what to do for the future. There was nothing wrong with doing what they wanted now and thinking about things later. When talking about past internships, Azusa perked up a bit on hearing a familiar name. She had never met Yellow Jacket in person before, but she new them to be one of the top ranked heroes. Even without the incident Yumi recounted, that was already quite the hero to live up to. Hostage situations were something she had little experience with. Basic training with negotiations and extraction was something she had as part of being a hero. But she had never been present at scenes herself except as support in the backlines. "Honestly, dealing with villains and criminals is something I don't have that much experience in. The prison breakout a few months ago was practically my first time having to engage with such people directly. So I can relate to having a 'first time' that was a bit more than I bargained for. I'm glad to hear the incident was resolved at least."As for quirk training, that sounded a lot more like what you'd expect students would end up doing. In fact among the applications she received there were at least a couple hoping to get tips on that front. She definitely had more experience there. Fine tuned control and creative applications were her bread and butter and the reason for her relative success at rescue work. "It sounds like you had a fulfilling time spent with the veterans. This is of course my first year in Japan and first time taking on interns. I've had a couple of second years so far and overall I'm just impressed at how UA students can handle themselves. No one's perfect of course, but I never felt like I needed to babysit anyone too much."She chuckled a bit. She figured with a third year, she had even less to worry about. Yumi's credentials spoke for themselves. Meeting the girl in person also reinforced her belief that she could count on them. "Here's hoping we don't get roped into too big an incident when we step out in a bit. It may sound 'boring' but the best day for a hero is one where nothing happens."By this time she had finished her own cup and was momentarily wondering if there was anything else they ought to talk about first before leaving. They could probably talk about it while walking around. "If you're done, we can get going soon. Just a simple patrol for today. Sometimes I get calls and requests for stuff but there wasn't anything on schedule. At least we'll get to interact with people. Building an image is an important part of hero work too."When Yumi was finished she would gather the cups to quickly wash them and then meet her intern outside the door of the shop. After locking up they would head out down the street.

Yumi gave a happy nod as she saw Azusa seemed to be on the level with her idea of balancing her life and not having to be perfect at everything. "The school councellor helped me a lot with that if I'm honest. I worried a lot people would think I wasn't taking everything seriously if I wasn't perfect at everything but... I'm feeling a lot more comfortable just settling in how I feel about my own efforts. So long as I can be satisfied with my own work I feel that's what matters now, cause, heck, no one else who judges me knows how much I can actually handle. I do ya know?"
She continued to nod along positively as the woman opposite her talked about how her own first experience with criminals was more than she expected. Yumi knew the world could be a rough place but even expecting that it never really prepared you for the rough stuff you could be put through. "If I'm honest the hostage situation was everything I trained for, I never really expected to empathize with the criminals is all. I still absolutely think they crossed into extreme territories but... well, I'm still helping work with their case where I can. I'll leave it at that I guess."
With things seeming to move along Yumi gave an eager nod and, without meaning to rush, maybe chugged her hot chocolate a little more eagerly than she should, almost getting the reverse effect of brain freeze as the warm sensation hit her gut all at once and briefly made her feel a bit unsettled before the sensation eased, working to her feat and pulling off her jacket. "Don't worry I get the idea, but field work is field work.~ Even if I just get to experience a boring day it'll help me be ready for learning how to deal with those quiet days as a hero. Keep my mind busy and all." She folded up the civilian clothes she'd worn over her hero costume and rested them behind the counter of the store, hoping that was okay to do of course before pulling up behind Azusa and following her out the door. "So what's the general plan then? Do you have a patrol route you walk or do you just take yourself wherever the steps flow?" She asked curiously, wondering if all heroes treated their patrols the same.

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤It seemed her initial impression wasn't really off the mark as Yumi would clarify that she got some help from the school counselor to get over her worries. That didn't make her think less of the girl, but Azusa could now better appreciate that her apprentice for the day was human too. Like she imagined if she got stuck someone who was some kind of perfect overachiever. She might just lose confidence there. She had to work on not getting bothered by that sort of thing. Maybe she needed a visit to a counselor herself. As she was washing the cups, she nodded in acknowledgement of Yumi's thoughts on emphathizing with criminals. She was basically the same. Most heroes she knew wouldn't think twice about punching a villain. Meanwhile she was still anxious about hurting them and overdoing it. Being too much of a pacifist might not be the best trait for a hero in Japan to have. Not all of them but there were certainly a fair number of villains who would have no second thoughts at killing heroes if the opportunity presented itself. Thinking on it, maybe what she was feeling wasn't exactly empathy but something else. But she would muse about that later. She would let Yumi keep her extra clothes and whatever she didn't need in the shop before locking up. That wasn't a big deal. Once they were outside, the girl would ask about her patrol habits and the plan for the day. This was actually a bit of deja vu. A couple of months ago Azusa was the one asking this very same question to her senior heroes. She was a little glad to know that everyone new to the business actually worried about that and she wasn't weird for inquiring. "That's a good question. I asked the same thing not too long ago. When I was a hero abroad, we didn't have patrols. Hero work was an on-call job. So when I moved back to Tokyo, imagine my surprise during the licensure exam when I was told patrols were gonna be a major part of my hero duties. It was quite the culture shock."
"Anyway I do have a patrol route I follow. Mostly because I wanted to be more familiar with the people and establishments in the area. Running into them on a regular basis helped with that. Building recognition and trust is important for a new face."She would chuckle to herself as they walked, recalling some amusing memories. "I mean, look at me. I've been mistaken for a middle school girl more times than I can count." She would quickly strike a cute childish pose and smile as part of the joke. "It's flattering, but it makes it hard to be thought of as someone they can count on and rely on. Every time the local bar had a new bouncer, I had to prove my ID wasn't fake if I wanted to go in for a few drinks.""It's a relatively peaceful neighborhood at least. Well, there were major incidents that started elshwere and ended up spilling over to this area, but as far as trouble originating here, I haven't seen any yet."Azusa's words would be proven true soon enough. As they passed by a few shops, any workers or owners themselves who happened to be outside would recognize the chocolate hero and wave hello if not outright walk up to her and greet her. There were even a few who mentioned that they were looking forward to seeing her own shop open. She would have to remember to send them invitations.

Yumi nodded along as Azusa went over her patrol purposes. She knew from classroom experience that patrol routes were for more than just looking out for crime. It was to familiarize yourself with a specific area of the city that you covered and also make sure they all got used to seeing your face in turn. It must have been a little hard for her day's mentor at times given that she probably looked like a little kid out for a stroll, and she even said as much, but she didn't want to be rude by emphasizing that issue to her. She probably had plenty of trouble dealing with that on her own time without a UA student putting the issue directly in her face. Heck she at least had the humor to joke about it which brought a soft chuckle out of Yumi herself.
"Ya know somehow I don't think if I did the same pose that it'd come off as 'cute' lookin' like I do... erm..." She hesitated for a moment but she felt she had to ask- "If I may... is your child like appearance an aspect of your quirk or some seperate condition. I-I don't mean to be rude I just thought it be best I get that out now and get past any awkwardness rather than keep having the question rest on my tongue." She hoped it didn't come off offensive or anything to just ask... she'd dealt with Yasashi's mom recently so it had left her curious how people deal with quirks that mean they don't look their age. Especially to such an extreme as Azusa.
When the young woman mentioned the issues spilling over, Yumi tried to think where they were relative to some recent incidents. "You meeeean... Fuchu...? The prison outbreak thing?"

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤She pointed it out on purpose because she knew from experience that most people who were bothered by it couldn't bring themselves to bring it up either. Not necessarily bothered in a negative way, but it was not hard to be curious about her appearance. So poking a little fun at herself was her way of saying it was fine to ask or talk about it. As much as there were downsides to it, she was also enjoying the benefits. So her overall feeling was that things balanced out. "Hehe, I'm a little happy to hear that I can pull off a pose that an aspiring model can't. But the way I look is mostly just genes. Have you never met someone naturally short and baby-faced before? My mother is of average height but still has quite the youthful visage even in her forties. I heard my late grandmother was rather short like me."
"I guess when they say Asians often look half their age, I'm one of those they are referring too. You can imagine the reactions I got while I was still studying abroad. Europeans are much taller on average after all. People in my own class thought I was some kind of kid genius who skipped grades."Though she didn't skip grades, genius wasn't too far off the mark. But as an advocate of hard work, she would never personally admit it. She does acknowledge it as a compliment though. "But you know, we're not that far off in age. It's like the difference between a high school student and a middle school student. So I don't mind if you refer to me more casually if that puts you ease. I like looking cute and being seen as cute. If I wasn't on duty I'd be shopping for cute clothes. It's only when someone uses my appearance to undermine me that I put my foot down. But otherwise, I personally enjoy it and make the most of it."She would skip ahead a bit, acting childish as if to prove her point. There was some irony in using the analogy of high school and middle school because anyone looking at the two of them would more likely assume the opposite. "Attitude and work ethic, you can't judge those from a person's looks. Though I must admit, it can be really satisfying proving wrong those people who make assuptions about me based on how I look."Moving on, Yumi asked if by major incidents she meant the large scale prison break. And the girl would be right. She wondered if, as a third year, the redhead also personally got some action then. Since she had heard that some of the older students typically did under the supervision of pros. "Yes, that's the one. I was basically running around setting up blockades with my quirk to assist with containing the situation. It helped the police defend key locations and prevent villains from breaking through to reach other places."
"I'm not really much of a fighter so I stayed out of the frontlines. Did you happen to get caught up in that yourself?"

"Oh I mean-" She felt a little called out when she was asked if she'd never met someone just naturally short and baby faced, rubbing the back of her neck a little awkwardly as she'd never meant to be rude in how she got it off of her chest. "I just... well these days quirks can have a lot of side effects I guess but... well if I'm honest I guess not? I work out of UA afterall so a lot of the people there are either tall or their quirks make them small by design? Its honestly a little 'throwing' to meet people shorter so often outside of school and... well like I said, someone sorter to the extent you are? And so youthful looking? In UA there's usually a reason for that so..." She bowed her head. "Sorry if I came off as rude."
She chuckled a little though as the woman at least seemed capable of joking about the situation, hooking her thumbs into the took belt of her costume, still able to enjoy the time with her mentor for the day without it getting too awkward it seemed. "I think if I was in an ordinary school people would be wondering why I'm there too... I mean I practically have my own job already on top of my studies.~"
Seems the woman was also not wanting to be treated too much like a senior, or, at the very least she didn't mind if Yumi wanted to treat her more on equal terms. She still felt she should show some respect but she gave her a warm smile in turn. "Okay well... I'll see. I mean it'd be nice to get used to treating you heroes like my peers but you're still the one mentoring me today, I gotta show you some respect for that alone right?" She nodded along as she emphasized she didn't mind her appearance, and Yumi, with a soft chuckle added- "Welllll maybe when you get off duty I can go shopping with you around some of the ASTA stores. Empolyee discount and all that.~"
She had to admire her view of herself though. It was a lot easier to undermine someone looking like she did than it was for someone like Yumi but... she'd come up against a few people who didn't take her too seriously thanks to her own appearance, and she'd been learning to tune that out more and more lately, so she admired the woman beside her for being able to take pride in how she appeared too, chuckling at her little skip which Yumi playfully followed up on, never too old for a bit of a skip.
With the question if she'd been caught up in all that Fuchu mess, she took a slow breath and nodded to answer. "Er... yeah. I was helping save a civilian who got caught up in the middle of the outbreak and er... on my escape route I ended up running into Ishtar actually. It ended up quite dangerous but... we managed to pull out alright."

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤She could help but laugh a little again. Was it really like that these days? If someone looked the slightest bit unusual, the first reaction was to attribute it to a quirk? She didn't get that feeling when she was studying abroad. It was probably just coincidence but the school she attended didn't have the highest quirker population. On the other hand, UA was a 100% quirker student body. She wasn't entirely sure with the teachers as she had heard that some government officials worked there too. Maybe it was just the environment that the girl got used to. "It's really no harm done. What I meant to imply by reactions abroad was that I got this question a whole lot. People wondering about my looks and age I mean. But I guess this is one of the few times someone thought it was a side effect of a quirk rather than assuming I'm younger and skipped grades."
"And if you're saying you've met others with similar looks due to their quirk, then I can't really blame you for being curious. Heck, I'd like to meet them too someday. All-natural vs. quirk-induced youth. Actually no, that's not right. Quirks are natural too."She corrected herself real quickly. It's not like she had discriminating views or anything. But as there weren't many quirkers in her old school, it couldn't be helped that they were referred to differently at times. Not that anyone meant any offense. Yumi made a good point that addressing her casually was probably not the best idea as they were supposed to have a mentor-apprentice relationship for this thing. She would let that go then. What really mattered to her was just making the student feel more comfortable. "Shopping with you? I wouldn't mind getting opinions on clothes from a model~ I'm partial to dresses though. I kinda feel like you're someone who's more in to sporty styles? Sorry, I haven't really seen your modeling photos. I tend to have specific things I'm looking for rather than more general fashion magazines."She had never shopped in ASTA stores before. They weren't really around before she left Japan to study abroad. So when she came back the first places she would go to were the shops she was already familiar with. She was glad a lot of them were still around. But she wouldn't be opposed to checking out a new store. Talking about the Fuchu incident, Yumi mentioned helping out civilians and then having an encounter with Ishtar. She recognized that name as a villain from the most wanted list. She didn't personally get to hear the announcement Ishtar made that night but she was briefed on it. Basically, a dangerous person and a dangerous encounter. It was still a bit hard for her to form more concrete opinions on villains but she understood the gravity of the event. "Good to hear the upcoming generation being more proactive and a relief that you made it back. I'm sure that was a scary moment."At the back of her head she was hoping no one was giving them a hard time about it too. There was no news about Ishtar being captured so that meant the villain also slipped away that evening. In a worse country, people would be pointing fingers at someone for letting a top villain go, even if they were just kids. It was a feeling of relief but also dread, because that same villain was still out there somewhere. "It's honestly been a different experience for me since coming here. Hero patrols and fighting villains were not things I had to worry about when I was doing hero work abroad. Different systems and policies I guess. It was primarily up to the police to take down villains and handle criminal situations. Rescue and disaster relief was my main job."

"Heh, fair enough. Sorry still just..." She shrugged. "I mean you know Aquitaine right? One of the other heroes? I just thought it could have been something like that. Maybe all the exposure to chocolate stunted your growth or some weird chocolatey hormone makes you look younger... I-I dunno. The more I say it the more dumb it sounds, but I'm glad you at least get the idea and aren't bothered by the question so... yeah. Thanks." She gave a casual shrug, hoping not to say much more about the awkward moment. She chuckled a little as she corrected herself on the quirk induced Youth thing. "Well like I said you have Aquitaine at the very least. She's got the appearance of a 20 year old but I think she's at least in her late 30s? Maybe early 40s, I'm honestly not too sure but she's definitely young than she looks at the end of the day." The comments on her styles were pretty accurate. "When I get the option I guess, eheheh, though with the modelling career and all I'm actually trying to work on broadening my styles a little bit..." She thought for a moment when she said she hadn't really seen her work, deciding to show off a little she reached into a pouch in her utility belt, a phone in a VERY heavy duty protective case now in her hand she'd cycle through some photos before lowering herself to show her mentor for the day some of her latest shoot. "This was the last time I got on the cover. They're doing a fancy gala line. Maybe not your style still buuuut should hopefully show they don't just do the sporty stuff I like either." She bowed her head a bit when Azusa showed appreciation for Yumi making it out of that situation safely with Ishtar. Things had really been tense there and from what she'd heard later about how Ishtar's quirk seemed to work, she was lucky she didn't come out of it with some kind of permanent scar from the ordeal. It was a selfish thought perhaps but it probably would have ended her side career if she had so it was a worry that had crossed her mind once the threat to her actual life had no longer been a present factor. With Azula talking about what it was like being a hero elsewhere though... "Really? Huh... I mean I guess I can understand but, how do police handle quirked villains? It must put a lot of stress on their resources when every other person could just become a walking nuclear bomb..."

❤ Azusa Mifune ❤ ❤ Cute is Justice ❤The name Aquitaine was familiar. They never talked directly but she had seen them pop up in the hero chatroom from time to time. Of course she had never seen them in person either. So in response to whether she knew them, she merely smiled and gave a small nod of acknowledgement. She did end up chuckling a bit when Yumi suggested ideas about chocolate making her look younger, to which she would follow-up. "If that was true, then my sales would probably triple. But as a culinary artist, I'd think it's kinda cheating to have such a gimmick. Nothing feels better than seeing people enjoy your work for what it is."
"Like I'm sure you'd be happier if people went to you for you, and not because you have ASTA attached to your name right?"Judging from the redhead's response when they talked about modelling, it sounded like she wasn't far from the mark when she guessed that the girl was more into sporty styles. But she could appreciate the follow-up that Yumi was broadening their repertoire of styles. Pursuing different careers was challenging yourself. So she could tell how seriously the girl was taking it. The photo Yumi shared was pretty nice. Although she herself would probably never be able to wear such a thing given that she's lacking in some areas to pull it off. Yumi on the other hand was tall and had a great figure. She had long since gone past being envious about stuff like that, but she knew the advantages. She had no doubts that the girl would go far if they kept at it. "That's really good. I like how the photo captures a different impression of you from how you normally seem to be. You look great of course, but the photographer was something too."When the conversation shifted to her experience abroad, Yumi asked about how things worked there if the police did the villain catching work. She was honestly a little surprised at the question. Was it really that different? Official heroes had only been around for a few years. Villains had existed since before the system was put in place. Although they were probably treated like any other criminal. "I'm not really sure what to say. How familiar are you with the equipment of Japan's very own police force? I haven't personally looked into it, but from what I've heard, they are equipped and trained to be able to tackle criminals with quirks without relying on their own. I don't think technologies in developed countries are that much different from each other."
"If you look at it from an organization perspective, a group of people with uniform equipment, skills, and techniques would logically perform more efficiently than say, a team of heroes with all sorts of abilities? Like the latter working cohesively relies so much on them knowing each other well and maybe having a lot of experience working with each other."
"Oh, I'm not downplaying the need for heroes. But we should give the police more credit. They aren't useless just because they're up against a villain."And she could appreciate them for that. This was probably Azusa's underdog bias speaking, but from her experience the police weren't that shabby at all. In fact they could be rather flexible. Whereas a hero, depending on their quirk, could walk in on a bad match-up with a villain. In any case, it did give her a little insight to how hero students might perceive things. They were training to become heroes because heroes were needed. Heroes were the solution this country came up with to deal with the threat of villains. But at least in Azusa's opinion, it wasn't an end-all and be-all thing.
