Yumi had been considering what her options might be going forward if... worse came to worse, and while she was making enough to get a cheap place, Yumi didn't really like the idea of reducing her living space just because things working out with her current partner. Especially since she was the one who originally bought the place. She didn't feel like she had any right to kick him out and even if she did there'd be 'memories' and blah-de blah-de blah...
Point was, this had become one of her options. As much as Red said that Sonya wasn't someone who could be trusted, evidence seemed to be pointing to the contrary and all Red had to go on was a very loose theory, and given how he'd been lately Yumi had become less and less inclined to believe it to the point she'd almost started liking Sonya more out of just sheer spite. Honestly though she was very open with her, Social, very generous with the fact her sponsorship was mostly just giving her a part time job on HER terms? Jesus if she was an evil CEO she certainly wasn't acting like it...
In terms of keeping her options open here, Sonya had showed more generosity by being very open to the idea when Yumi suggested she might want to re-work the terms of her contract on the sponsorship front. She'd heard some students got help with their living accomodations and with her finals coming up she may not even be able to spend time on modelling anyway so... she needed extra assurance to make sure she'd be able to afford somewhere nice if things went the way they seemed to be going with Red. Not only was Sonya open to discussing this but she'd offered to discuss it over Sushi on her own dime... she was a multi-millionare, so of course she was paying, but Yumi still was left with a good impression thanks to the offer.
Arriving at the Sushi place a little after Miss Sonya herself, she let one of the serving staff guide her to a booth in the back Sonya was already sitting at, smiling warmly towards her as she casually waved. She hadn't been sure what to expect when given the address, so she dressed 'sharply' but not 'fancy' so to speak. It was a leather jacket, a red shirt, and some form fitting jeans. Maybe not all that classy but it was better than Yumi's usual mis-match of colors and styles. At least this looked like an actual set.
"Hope I didn't keep you waiting Sonya..." She started a little nervously as she moved to take a seat, rubbing at the back of her neck. "I don't wanna seem like I'm coming off rude or anything by wanting to re-organize the terms of the sponsorship? I mean I'm really appreciative of the loose schedule you let me keep with the modelling work just, with my studies getting busier and... other factors, I'm just really glad your open to a discussion at the least...~"

Ishtar stood on the railing looking down at the fabricators. They were working double time thanks to Axel's modifications. A brilliant man as there ever was. She smiled a bit cooly while the humanoid frame took shape. It was the first prototype developed on ASTA's end and some of the features would be shared with UA in order for the robotics club and their little gaggle of geniuses to pick apart and improve on. She had a hunch that at least one of them had the stuff to really make headway in turning this thing into a real monster. Her lip curled as her hands shifted a bit behind her back. Comfort. It was nice not feeling stiff all the time. She turned languidly toward the scientist that approached. He stopped for a moment at the sight of her swirling glowing eyes and gazed before finding himself.
"A-ah, Ma'am. The near-field projectors are on schedule as well as the shipment for the Dust Devils," He said, checking the details; "Also, you have your appointment with Yumi Tasukai in two hours," He added a bit hesitantly. He wasn't her butler, he was a scientist who'd only recently come to work for her at this level. Many disgraced scientists had come to serve her interests; fear had kept them like this though. She wasn't exactly what you would describe as approachable if you only listened to the news. Ishtar smiled brightly and inclined her head; "Thank you dear! I appreciate the reminder, I would have kicked myself if I missed that," She said, looking down at the automaton being built.
"You've done excellent work, Doctor Park. May I call you Jin?" She asked. He nodded, his shoulders relaxing with a mixture of shock and something else. "Your work was in sound systems, correct? Your talents seem wasted in operations. Why don't you go speak with Director Axel about assignment to developing some new hardware?" She asked, "Have fun with it." His enthusiastic affirmative was all she needed to hear. She smiled back down at the monster in production. "... who ever said fear was greater than loyalty was an idiot," She laughed and walked away.
Just under two hours later she found herself sitting at a high-class sushi restaurant. She'd been craving sushi for weeks now, honestly, but she hadn't an excuse to make a special trip. It wasn't like she needed a reason but she did like having one. Meeting with a precious VIP, one as lovely and filled with potential as Yumi Tasukai was certainly high on her list. The girl approached only a short while after the waiter made his first round and she gestured to the chair across from her.
"Not long at all, dearie! Wonderful to have you!" She said, standing up and walking around to shake Yumi's hand and pull out her chair for her. She insisted on helping the girl into her seat before finding her own seat again. Oho, Right to business eh?
Sonya nodded, "Believe it or not, I've been looking forward to this conversation. This isn't like other contracts where the terms and ideas and theories behind them have existed for centuries. There's never been a sponsorship contract between a company and a hero, ever. Not like this. It's a new field, new ideas, and plenty of room for mistakes and improvements," She said by way of explaining; "What did you have in mind?" She said with a easy smile. "I'm sure we can negotiate something," She added, nodding her head left and right as if pretending to think before winking. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Yumi held a warm smile as Sonya greeted her so eagerly. Honestly as much as she didn't want to think about it Red's paranoia was still infecting her a little. Everytime Sonya was nice to her a thought had to flash in her mind wondering whether this proved him more right, proving she was manipulative and good at it, or if it proved him more wrong, that no criminal would be this genuinely kind and welcoming. Shaking Sonya's hand and watching her take out her chair for her? Yeah, she was leaning a lot more on the latter, especially with all the stuff going on with Red...
"Well it's wonderful to see you too-hey-" She'd rest a hand on the chair she was pulling out. "C-come on you don't need to do that for me.~" She offered back, not wanting to put her out, especially since if there was ever a time to 'schmooze up to the boss' it was when you were, effectively, gonna be asking for a raise. Still of Sonya insisted she wouldn't outright stop her, moving to take the seat opposite her and just enjoying the air of the place for a moment, looking about herself to get a feel for the place. She wasn't used to eating at resteraunts. Now and then as a kid when her mom got a bonus for a successful ad campaign they'd go somewhere special, but it as never a habit. Sure her mom was good at her job but it always took something exceptional for them to celebrate, and even then they'd usually just go to Pizza Shack which.... was hardly fancy. She really liked it, but not fancy.
Her brow raised a bit in surprise as Sonya said she'd been looking forward to this, more than a little stunned but when Sonya explained a chuckle showed that it probably made sense to the young red head now. "Yeah, you're definitely a first on that front I can assure you." Despite only existing for a few years, knowing the history of the hero program was part of her course structure afterall. When she was prompted to say what she was thinking, Yumi briefly hesitated, glancing to the waiter who, having just passed this table, was already halfway across the resteraunt. No easy way out.
"Er... well... When I initially signed up it was effectively like I was applying for a part time job right? Which I REALLY appreciate, don't get me wrong but er... I'm suddenly in a position where I could actually use a more... sponsoring aspect of the sponsorship...?" She hesitated again, hands on her lap and bowing her head a little. "I-I'm sorry I feel like I'm gonna come off like I'm just scraping for every penny and I can get super nervous when I'm putting other people out so this isn't the easiest for me..."
She took a slow breath and re-focused her thoughts. "Bottom line is erm... I'm gonna be in a position quite soon... potentially at least, where I need to move? I could probably afford a cramped little apartment until I graduate but I'd very much like more space, to clear my head, to continue my own blog work effectively, to exercise in the winter months and... well after hearing you provide housing to employees, I was wondering if we could re-adjust my sponsorship to help with living costs...?" In her head it wasn't an unreasonable request. She already worked for the other part of her sponsorship, it was mostly a glorified way of getting her a real modelling job under Asta, but... this definitely was hard to request for Yumi, it was hard for her to put other people out.

Sonya raised an eyebrow when Yumi stopped her. It was nothing short of amusing when the girl suggested that she didn't have to pull her chair out. Sonya flicked her hair back and opened her eyes, the lenses inside her eyeballs spinning, rotating and adjusting. She quirked her lip; "Of course I do," She said, letting Yumi get into her seat; "As far as I'm concerned right now I'm out to lunch with a beautiful young woman;" She shrugged; "Even if it's on business. There is a way one should behave," She winked, letting the waiter approach and offer them menus before asking about drinks. Sonya asked for a glass of water and leaned back in her seat to look at Yumi and their conversation continued.
She glanced at her menu only once while Yumi hesitated, letting her collect her thoughts while pretending not to notice. Sonya looked up when she started speaking and set down her menu, giving Yumi her full attention. She nodded at the suggestion that getting a sponsorship was like having a part time job. Sonya reclined a little as a thoughtful expression crossed her features. She restrained the urge to smile or to react with any sort of excitement. She could already tell where this was going, and personally she was all for it. She wanted to offer her sponsee's more money but the initial investment had been calculated carefully to not seem too generous as to not draw too much attention. A Scholarship, a small stipend, and support gear.
Sonya crossed her legs and rest her hands on her lap, nodding again when Yumi took a breath to refocus. Sonya listened to her request. She was moving? But the students stayed in the dorms didn't they? They had space. No Yumi's address was listed as not on UA Campus; which meant she had her own place, probably a collective living situation with shared rent. That made sense. She nodded a few times and rubbed her chin. Sonya took a deep breath and exhaled, keeping her expression impassive and her eyes focused. She didn't have an edge to her tone nor did her eyes seem hard, there was no cruelty here, just business.
"A personal residence is quite an investment," She began; "There's far more than just rent involved. More importantly; some time was spent making sure that the work requested from you reflected in the offerings of the Sponsorship. The hardware ASTA will be providing you is not cheap," She rubbed her chin and leaned on her elbow. "That work calculation also concerns your time to maintain your grades at school. If you don't graduate that would be a problem," She twined her fingers and leaned forward.
"I'm not denying you, by any means. But I want to hear more. Let's talk about what you're currently doing with ASTA. Right now you do a photo-shoot a week and work with the modellers," She rubbed her chin; "We have you scheduled for a few ad campaigns, but we're keeping the work minimal right now especially since you're in your third year," Sonya looked up when the waiter returned with their drinks. She looked at Yumi and smiled finally; "Let's negotiate."

Yumi blushed a little at the compliment, briefly wondering what it was with the older female mentors in her life and constantly coming off like they were flirting with her in some way but she tried to brush it off and not linger too much on that thought, smiling warmly and appreciative of the woman’s approach to this. She never was one for big social conventions or the structures a business might have to adhere to, but she was old enough and mature enough to still play the game regardless, and it was nice to see Sonya at least try to bend those rules a tad to make herself and those around her more comfortable. “Well… thank you miss Sonya. O-or is Miss Chernova more appropriate?” She’d ask with a quirk of her brow.
Yumi wasn’t all that well versed in Sushi dishes so she’d kinda been using her topic at hand to put off ordering. If the waiter at any point did come around she’d most likely ask Sonya to do the honor of ordering for her… well she may not say it’s an honor but the idea worked enough in her head to make a clear point. She just didn’t have the bravery to order for herself was the general idea and she didn’t want to be a huge delay or a bother if she rushed ordering something she may not actually like. At least if Sonya ordered something she didn’t like she’d have the obligation to put on a smile and eat it anyway…
Back on track, she seemed to be making it clear that what she was asking for was a lot. In truth she didn’t already get unique gear from her sponsorship. Her costume was made by the support department based on the design specs of an online friend who helped her study her quirk, buuuut for the goggles and the lightning rods… “W-well I may actually need to start claiming the er… unique tech part of my sponsorship? I-I already have the designs for the gear I use but… well long story short I’m not too sure I trust the person who made certain aspects of my equipment. I was maybe hoping I could rely on Asta for that too. I-if not its fine? Support studies have to make gear for the hero course anyway but… thought I’d add that to the pile before it’s too late ya know?”
Still, she seemed open to negotiation and she was asking a lot so it was only fair and… well Yumi was at least a little prepared. “Well my schedules gonna be a lot more open soon since my teaching-studies are coming to an end, a lot more of my evening will be free since I won’t have night classes anymore and I’ll generally need to study less. I don’t expect you to just find more model work for me but… well er… I noticed you don’t currently have anyone ‘facing’ your hero relations? I-I know I’m only a student but I thought maybe I could work for your support by playing a bigger role in that way? Admittadly I used to have my apprehensions about the Asta program but you’ve been so nice and supportive I feel I’d wanna help put your work in as good a light as possible anyway. I know some of my classmates are still er… mildly suspicious, of your intentions I mean so… maybe I could help er…”
She sighed softly and hung her head for a moment. “S-sorry I.. I know what I’m trying to say and offer but I feel it’s egotistical as I say it so the pitch I had planned is kinda melting in my head.”

Sonya nodded easily, cracking a smile and raising an eyebrow when the girl tried to get a feel for their relationship by way of a check on address. Sonya smiled a bit wider and just nodded her head; "Sonya is fine, I think we're familiar enough now," She said with a relaxed tone; "I've seen you in about as many outfits as a lover might by now, doubt we can reasonably lean on traditionalism now," She said almost dismissively, tilting her head a little and looking up at the waitress who passed by. She gave the girl a wink and a smug smile before looking down at Yumi again. She leaned forward and rested her elbows in her lap.
This girl...
She wanted something but she just didn't have it in her to come out and say it. That was her problem with how the Japanese raised their children; so afraid to want, so afraid to need, so afraid to be. Her expression dipped into a bit of a frown as the girl stammered her way through her words. She wanted to start taking advantage of the tech part of the sponsorship now, that was fair, she had designs she could work with the crews at ASTA for that too. She was struggling with trust, with faith, with belief. The girl was fighting so hard just to stay on her own too feet and not lean. But that wasn't how this worked.
Sonya's eyebrow raised even as her lips remained unmoved. A face? Oho. She saw what angle Yumi was taking. The nuclear option. It was not too far away from selling ones own soul to the company. And with how she was describing the thoughts of her peers, it didn't surprise her. Sonya leaned back a bit and considered it, her eyes narrowing with thought. The lenses inside her eyes turned slowly, ticking, adjusting, resetting. Yumi hung her head and Sonya crossed her legs and uncrossed them. She glanced up as the waitress strode by and she reached out, taking the girl by the hand and looking her in the eye; "Wine, please. Your best." She said softly, running a thumb over her knuckle. The girl nearly collapsed but had the wherewithal to get away.
"Lets get one thing out of the way," Sonya said sternly; "This nonsense about you feeling egotistical for wanting things? This?" He waved at her, "Stops today. Right here," Sonya said sharply, "I picked you. I was the one to review all the applications, not some pencil pusher, I chose you. You thinking that you don't deserve greatness is as good as telling me I was wrong and a poor judge of character," She said, reaching out and taking up her glass of water. She sipped and placed it down.
"The business world is cruel, and I don't just do business. I am involved in politics. I've been making headway in using my profile to encourage neighboring countries to embrace the hero system," She said, tapping her finger on the table; "Politics and Business have nasty traditions. When you start working as the face of Hero Sponsorship you'll have to do some things that might make you uncomfortable. You'll go to parties. I'll parade you around. It will be a big song and dance, and it may not be fun," She said, resting her hand on the table. "You'll have to travel. You'll see your face on safety posters, things you don't even think about," She warned her;
"My expectations of you will be that much higher, the work that much harder, and the demand for you to excel as a hero that much greater," She set her glass down as the waitress returned, flushed, with a bottle of wine and a small card with penned handwriting on one side. Sonya smiled at her and took it, pocketing the card without a look. She tilted her head; "Can you be who I need you to be Yumi? Can you find that pride?" She asked, taking a breath and exhaling on the cork. It...shrank a little, contracting enough for her to draw it out without an effot. She raised an eyebrow at Yumi.

"Sonya it is then miss..." She caught herself and groaned, but with a more playful tone to it, just kinda realizing her mistake as she'd started to say 'miss Sonya', only to adjust and finish. "Sonya. Just Sonya.~"
As she finished her nervous speech, Yumi cupped her hands together under the table between them as Sonya seemed to just absorb it herself. She watched her take the waitress's hand and ask for their best wine... that. That was good right? C-celebration wine? Maybe she just had fine tastes but the timing of it all made Yumi feel a little bit hopeful. She tried to hold her shoulders a little bit straighter and focus her breathing a little more, trying not to seem so tense. Still, Sonya was methodical in telling her what things would be like going forward... the speech telling her that she was basically a choice of Sonya's own design, that to say she wasn't 'good enough' for getting more out of her sponsorship was to insult Sonya's choice of character in a way. She chuckled nervously, definitely not wanting to have insulted the woman before her but... appreciating how i was mostly meant to be a 'forceful' way to try and get Yumi to realize her own value.
"I... appreciate the thought Sonya I just... I guess I can just worry I'm over-estimating myself or something ya know? I don't want to come off like I'm too far up my own ass or something and, when a lot of people value me by me having some 'amazing quirk', I feel i'd be wrong to see myself the same way. I mean I was just lucky I got my quirk ya know? And... trying to downplay that so much, i guess it leaked into how i see myself more generally. I'm sorry... I'll be sure to lift my head a little higher with you from now on.~"
She went on to be forward and honest about what would be expected with this proposal. She'd travel with Sonya potentially, be paraded about like a show pony, have to put on a smile when she may not have wanted to but... well the catch was, she was being told this. Sonya was open and forward with her before she even agreed to anything. She was giving her an out before she signed up ant... thats what ironically told her she wanted this. If there was anyone she'd wanna... well, sell out for, it was someone like Sonya. She was honest, she was kind, she was personable and just... human. She wasn't a demon CEO tricking Yumi into a faustian deal, and Yumi wanted to help people maybe see that.
Yumi glanced to the bottle of wine as it arrived, and then back to Sonya's unique eyes, taking a slow, smooth breath and, with a bit of a teasing nature, she answered positively.
"Well... I already have my passport up to date, if that helps.~" She chuckled a little, not trying to be dismissive but thought that might have been a funny, confident way to answer.

Sonya said nothing as the girl responded. She just watched her, blank faced. The point was being made. The business world had no interest in waiting for her to find her own self worth. She had value and only she could define it. Wasting her time fretting over it was time wasted, and time was money. Sonya may be nice, but she was also a businesswoman. She crossed her legs and leaned back a bit in her seat, eyeing Yumi with a twinkle in her eye. Finally, finally the girl offered a quip as her way of saying she was ready. Sonya nodded easily and poured out two glasses of champagne, sliding one across the table to Yumi.
"Then I'll get you an apartment, I was planning on buying you a building to work out of once you finished your Side Kick tenure," She said casually, glancing up at Yumi with a smirk on her face. Had this been a test? Had Sonya planned it? It was difficult to say, but the way the lenses of her eyes turned, adjusted, twisted, and reset. It reminded someone of gears turning inside of a watch. She tapped the glass that she was holding with her finger and a faint, faint layer of frost formed over it. She held her finger up to her lips and winked at Yumi.
"Want yours cold?" She asked coyly, she'd chill the girls drink if asked before reaching into her shirt pocket and pulling out a cellphone. She tapped the screen a few times and after a few heartbeats a scratchy looking holographic display bloomed to life over the device where she set it on the table. The display was a transparent screen detailing portions of their contract. She reached out with her right hand, the watch on her wrist glowing a little when she flicked her finger, tossing out portions of the contract and rubbed her chin.

Yumi still felt really nervous despite her quip. Her last impression of Sonya was warm and bubbly and while, yes, they were talking business and it was understandable that she put her… well her business face on, it was like seeing the other side of a doormat. It was so vastly different to the fluff and fuzz of the intended side and Yumi was more than a little caught off guard seeing this in a person. Even when they seemed to be coming to an agreement with her quip, she still seemed to hold a stronger air to her, to the point Yumi was feeling less about her words being a ‘test’ and more that the offered champagne was.
“Er… I-I’m not twenty sorry ma’am…” She’d offer, trying not to fall into a PR trap test or something. Afterall if she was gonna be a good face for the sponsorship program she would be making a bad move engaging in underaged drinking like this wouldn’t she? She was a little cautious, and even if the other woman assured her that it was fine to take a sip, she’d still nervously let her fingers dance against the base of the glass, not wanting to make a wrong step here but still seeming more confident than she had been a moment ago.
Still… seemed the woman was full of surprises. Her eyes grew wide again as she pulled up the holographic display, both surprised by the level of tech before her and also how flippantly she was ripping out lines of text, assuming it was a copy of her contract from the fact she’d brought it out as they were speaking. “Erm… I-I thought you’d be adding MORE to the contract after what we just discussed… kinda surprising to see you tearing it apart like that.” She chuckled a little, hoping to keep the mood light while also making her curiosity on the matter known.

Sonya let out a small chuckle and raised the glass she was about to hand to Yumi. She tilted it back and sipped it herself; "Good answer," She said, raising her finger up, "But stand your ground next time, you're a hero, a paragon," She tapped her nose. "Politicians are like sharks," She quipped without expanding on the point. She crossed her legs and leaned back a little, stroking her chin and flicking left and right with her finger. Her eyes swirled and clicked now and then. The images she was seeing were a bit different than what Yumi could perceive. The heads up display was a new addition, she swirled her fingers in an arc and raised an eyebrow when Yumi interjected. She didn't tear her eyes away from her work.
"Adding lines of text to a contract is something we could do, yes," She said, tilting her head and moving one block to another spot; "But that would only bog down the whole. I'm sure you've seen contracts with dozens even hundreds of pages, conditions, stipulations, details," She crooked her finger and a block of text was added here, another block there, she mused for a moment before flipping to another page and repeating the process. "There's no transparency in a one hundred page contract. So much information it's impossible to see the full implications unless you are the composer," She looked up at Yumi.
"The section on your pay needed to be redone, stipulations on your work, what kind of work, whole sections could be removed to be combined with others because of the changes," She said, reaching for the drink with her free hand and sipping while a waitress arrived with a strawberry milkshake, and placed it in front of Yumi. Sonya's eyes twinkled with mischevious delight; "Yumi, your tension is still showing. Its fine if you want to let your guard down around me, dearie, but I'm trying to coach you to keep a straight face. I can hear it in your voice," She raised her glass to her lips and sipped again, setting it down.
She waved her hand in one big arc and a [SAVED] box appeared above it. She tapped her watch once and then reached for her phone, tapping it a few times. Yumi's own phone would buzz.
"There's the update, your position will officially be Hero Brand Ambassador, we'll go shopping for apartments as soon as you're ready," She beamed, her own shoulders relaxing now that important work was done. | TAG WORDS NOTES

She could recognize she'd made a good move rejecting the drink, as curious as she'd become about such liquids she knew it was best to behave herself till she was the appropriate age. Sure she could have a sip of something with her mother and she justified that due to her mother's european heritage, buuuuut in a public place like this it was best she not cause issues, for herself or her boss right now. She held a warm smile as the drink was drawn back, a little... eh, on the fact she was still chastised for not having a stronger tone in her rejection, but Sonya was right. It was best she get the rough end of the stick from her and learn from it rather than slip around someone who'd truly devour her if given the choice. She nodded firmly and took a stronger tone. "Of course Sonya, you're right...~" It was in part perhaps an act but... she'd adjust. She'd learn. She... liked this. She was liking it a lot already. Being taken seriously and not just because of her quirk or her body. Sonya was refining her as a personality, and never did her words seem dismissive. They could be harsh. Nitpicky, but with a purpose, and it helped Yumi feel empowered rather than flattered.
"Heh, well I guess that shows how little I know about contractual structure hm? Maybe I should ask one of your lawyers to teach me some of the more important language to look out for. Wouldn't want to go tripping up now that I have such an important role." She wasn't sure how useful such a thing might actually be but at the very least it was nice to consider. She leaned back into her chair a little, not too slack but a little more comfortable. She agreed with the idea that a contract should be clear and concise so it could be understood, she was still just surprised the changes at play seemed to subtract more text than it added... and that Sonya seemed to have the text she needed to add VERY ready to go.
The fact it was all over so quickly was the most surprising thing however, they hadn't even really started eating yet and they'd already re-written the contract? She was half sure a lawyer must have to officially go over it and give it a seal of approval or tune up some of the wording but. "Wow that was... fast. I'd almost think you had this all ready to go for some time..." She chuckled and shook her head. "And as to what you said before... an apartment is more than enough. I appreciate the idea of buying a building for me to work out of, joke or not, but we'll have to see if anyone even wants to work under me. Even if I'm a strong personality for your brand, I have a lot of experience to gather before I could be a good enough leader to consider running a full office or anything." She wasn't putting herself down, just... being realistic in her own expectations. Running a hero office sounded nice, but she potentially had a lot on her plate as is.
"Hero Brand Ambassador huh? A little official but I still like it..." She lightly drummed her fingers on the table with a smile and thought. "Bit long for the public though. Without meaning to overstep how about just... Curved Lightning, Asta's Ideal?" She offered a bright smile with her teasing re-branding for the public, shaking her head to dismiss it but still seeming comfortable and confident with it. "I say for now we just enjoy our meal and celebrate. If you insist on getting me an apartment outside of the buildings you already own, We can talk about a price range while we eat. I'll circle a few ideal locations and you can give it your stamp of approval. How's that sound?~"
She smirked playfully before adding. "Of course, I will have to look over the re-done contracts first. You can't expect me to just sign any old thing if I'm gonna be the 'smart, ideal hero' to represent Asta hm?~" She picked up her milkshake with a mildly smug little smirk.

you have my attention, dearie
[attr="class","itsover"] Sonya watched her; the way she held herself, the way her shoulders straightened, the way she seemed to sit up a little more. Small differences, signs of strength. That was good. Sonya leaned back a little in her seat and slipped her phone into her pocket. She winked at Yumi with a playful smirk; "I may have studied law in my spare time, but most of the adjustments were pre-prepared. I had some ideas about what you might want, but I covered all my bases," She admitted, resting her hands on her lap and relaxing. "I'm sure they'd be happy to educate you, its important you know these things, even if you work with an agent-knowing for yourself is best," She added, tapping her nose and raising an eyebrow.
She turned and reached for her drink, sipping at it and looking over the rim at Yumi. She nodded quietly; "You know, I was thinking about petitioning the Public Safety Comission to allow me to operate an office near ASTA headquarters," She said, sipping her drink again and setting it down. She savored the taste and; "I am no hero, obviously, but managing a hero agency shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, right?" She raised an eyebrow. That way she could keep a better eye on the young heroes she was fostering as well as actively improve their hardware. Pushing for them to excel over other heroes would put them in the spotlight, something she needed.
Sonya let out a delighted laugh; "ASTA's Ideal?" She clapped her hands; "There's that confidence! I'll call you that if you like dear, but the general public want something 'official sounding'. Trust me, it'll work just fine~" She said, raising her glass and offering it to toast with Yumi. "Agreed! We can celebrate while we look, I have a few in mind actually but I admit my idea of a price range might be a bit different than yours. What do you feel comfortable with?" She asked, this time serious. It wasn't a test to see if she wanted more for herself, just asking for an apartment was enough. The question was what would make the dear girl uncomfortable with too much space.
She mulled for a few moments and then made a gentle face; "I admit... a big home can feel lonely," She said and scratched her nose, looking off to the side. "So lets get just the right thing for you."

Yumi was happy to hear that Sonya was on the same page as her with the idea that they should get her at least able to understand some basic legaleeze going forward. Yumi was never under the impression that she'd understand everything, but it'd definitely be nice to just be able to keep up. She was a little more surprised, albeit pleasantly so however, when ASTA mentioned the idea of being able to run a hero Agency for a while. "Ya know that'd actually be quite nice? And I mean, i know I'm still learning the whole 'marketing' aspect of this all, what with you correcting me on the ASTA ideal thing but er..." She thought for a moment, but yeah, she was sure she was on the right track with this one.
"I mean I have to be a sidekick for a year either way, and while it might be good to show me working with another pro, if I remained 'brand loyal' and was a sidekick managed under the ASTA program that'd show more independance. I'd basically be able to build my brand as an independant hero early on dont ya think?~" She smiled warmly. "Besides, I bet you'd be sure to put someone extra talented in charge. From what I've seen so far you only hire the best." She winked playfully before giggling. "I mean I should know. You hired me right?~" She'd smirk briefly before chuckling out. "Too much?~"
Yumi thought for a moment though as they discussed the living situation. Sonya seemed to have some ideas but... well. Yumi knew how she could be. She was oddly conservative but also... not, in her last living situation. She'd tried to get somewhere cheap and laid back that she could manage but she also didn't want to settle for a cheaper apartment that was more reasonable. She liked the space and... well if she were honest with herself she wasn't opposed to the good things in life. "Ya know... I think I should take this opportunity to just... accept I might deserve something a little better than I think I do so... I wanna see what you had in mind."
She spotted the waitress and shot them a warm smile. "First though, sushi.~"
A short meal and a car ride later, Yumi was staring up at a rather nice looking apartment building and swallowing back her nerves as she realized she may have to fight herself to accept whatever generosity she was going to have dumped on her. She kept a strong face however, smiling sweetly back at Sonya as they worked their way inside, got a temporary keycard off the ground floor desk. Place even seemed to have some low level of security and post-acceptance staff which... god Yumi could almost feel herself breaking into a cold sweat thinking about how much this could cost.
By the time they were riding the elevator up Yumi finally voiced her thoughts. "You're... sure this isn't too pricey? I mean I havn't even seen the place yet but even I can tell this is a nice building, more staff than you'd expect... is this really okay?"

[attr="class","itsover1"]Sonya leaned back in her chair and smiled a big, delighted smile. Yumi was getting into the swing of it at last. She nodded emphatically when the girl enthused about the idea of working out of a company owned hero agency. Sonya couldn't lay claim to either Serperior or Paw Might's agencies, they were already established and she was only providing the buildings. No. It was best that they had their independence and promoted her brand that way. Yumi, on the other hand, was someone she could mold into a real representative of her vision for hero society.
She nodded and leaned in, "Yes, lets start with sushi," She split her chop sticks and dug in.
A short time later they were standing in the apartment building in question. Her hands behind her back while she looked around passively, taking in the various details. It needed some work; she'd have a crew come in and update some of the equipment inside with ASTA appliances and devices. She wouldn't have her postergirl going without. She glanced over at Yumi who looked nervous again. Sonya took a breath; baby steps, and walked over to place a hand on her shoulder. She gestured to the building.
"I'll be honest with you dear, this is actually on the cheaper end of luxury apartments in central tokyo," She said, it was still quite an expensive place compared to what most people would ever be able to afford in a lifetime. She glanced at the girl and offered a casual smile; "You want to know how much it is? Or would you rather be in blissful ignorance?" She asked, resting a hand on her hip and throwing her head back a bit. "...actually lets go on a little tour first, mm? Want to show me around? Pretend I'm your guest or a reporter. I want to know how a pro hero lives. Show me. Tell me all about this space here," She was looking for improvisation, wanting to see what Yumi would want in each space as well as see how well she thought on her feet.

Yumi almost jolted when she felt Sonya rest a hand on her shoulder. Almost. She managed to keep herself firm, still wanting to make a good impression and show she could handle the role given to her. The job was actually starting to settle into her brain a bit, more as to what it entailed than settle on her nerves or anything... she wasn't even a full hero yet but she was already representing the main supplier of sponsorship and benefits to heroes. She took a slow breath and glanced back to Sonya... she seemed to genuinely believe she was capable of this so... she had to show her that she wasn't wrong, right?
"Cheaper end huh? Somehow I doubt the cheaper end of luxury still isn't all that cheap..." She tensed her hands a little behind her back and took another easing breath. She was curious to ask just how much it cost, but Sonya's own words and the ding of the elevator reaching their floor cut her off. They walked down the hall to her potential apartment as Sonya spoke about wanting her to present it to her like an interview... that could actually be kind of fun? And it'd let Yumi calm down, treat it like a game and focus on like... visualizing what it would be like to live here right? When they stopped at the door, Yumi took another easing breath, and turned to Sonya with a confident smile.
"Keys." She simply requested, letting the jangly keychain and the tag fill her palm. She turned back to unlock the door, but quickly shut it behind her before Sonya could join her, locking the door. Rude perhaps but it had a purpose, and she knew by now Sonya was 'human' enough to have a giggle about this once Yumi revealed why she had done it. About a minute passed, Yumi checking around the place and getting a feel for it on her own. She didn't give herself the time to TRULY take it all in, but she had enough time to at least get a sense of what was going on here, where the rooms where, where she might like to put certain things... another slow breath and she returned to the door. She had a warm, confident smile that seemed a little more mature, Yumi almost seeming a little older because of it as she bowed her head gently, deciding to play the role a little for a bit of a giggle and stepping aside, gesturing for Sonya to step inside.
"Thank you for taking an interest in my home Miss Chernova. I never would have thought Tokyo news would want to do a piece on me but. Well. I guess it can only be expected. One of the first generation of heroes and a prominent member of Asta's sponsorship programs? Maybe I should be offended you didn't take an interest sooner.~" She rested a finger against her chin with a lightly teasing tone, deciding to really play along with the role and suppressing a giggle so it came out a little more polite. As Sonya stepped in there was initially a small hallway to get deeper into the apartment. Most of it was furiniture Yumi might replace, but filling the hall at least was a small shoe rack and a series of coat hangers attatched to the wall itself, a general 'idea' Yumi wouldn't replace even if she redecorated and got her own versions of things.
"The entrance hall is a little barren but I'm hoping to fill it with some pictures of my achievements as my career develops. I actually have a few 'best cosplay' awards from conventions but I thought it best to save those for my bedroom.~"
