The sunlight felt good against Selena's skin as she walked down the sandy beach. Finally, some rest from it all. She had just signed up to be a hero's sidekick and she had just scored her license for the time being. Now the next step was to work hard and get into the world of investigation. But for now some rest and relaxation was an order. She was wearing her new two-piece bikini, dragging along a beach towel and umbrella. As she sat up, her mind wander to her cousins for a bit.
Desmoshi was doing good academically and socially. He was making a name for himself among his school and community. In truth, Desmoshi was more like her uncle, Jokai. They were both so outgoing and quick to help someone in need. He was planning on helping clean up the mess again that happened after the zombie Apocalypse. Desmoshi felt bad for not being there and being in New York during the time, but Selena believed he would move forward from that. And he had a girlfriend, Niji they called her. A young and upcoming tech maker and wealthy. Desmoshi did good.
Mizuki, on the other hand, she wasn't too sure. She was to her cousin being more deadpan than usual. But when the two met up again, she seemed a little bit more peppier. Maybe it was becuase of her girlfriend Yang, who she was spending her vacation with. Not only that, Mizuki had figured out that her 'burst' worked differently than Desmoshi's, basically making a walking storm. Well, if she was Susanoo and Desmoshi was Ameterasu, then that made her Tsukiyomi. In fact, that was the hero name she went with. Mizuki seem to being going down the right route, but she still had a problem with most of the pros. But hopefully, Selena's moms could change that when they became pro.
For now, she lied on the beach towel, her blonde hair tied up and her umbrella up, soaking in the sun with her shades on.

G finally got some real fun in the sun, he got earlier on the beach and was able to chill with Goliath. He was now at the sea, on his summons back as they had fun and swam together. Sure, G had his swim trunks. But he also had his jacket to cover his back tattoo. It was a tattoo of his summon and he wasnt that keen of it anymore. It was a bit over the top. He wasnt sure what Hana thought of it and he didnt get to ask her. But if she was ok, he would remove it. But now he enjoyed swimming with his summon, Goliath. "Do ...do................. do....do .... dodododododo papapapam PAPAPAPAPA" G stupidly hummed a shark theme song. As the duo swam together. There werent that many people out here at the beach. So, he didnt really go out to prank anyone, even if the two wanted to. To just dive down and go ham Goliath splashed G which interrupted his singing. "oi!" he protested. Goliath wanted to dive down. But G didnt allow that. But his summon thought he should to get his head wet and his hair wet. Having a cool head was improtant when under the Sun. "Bro. If you even so dare to dunk me down. I swear I will unsummon you now. Now get me to the shore" G commanded The summon groaned and started to swim to the shore, slowly getting to more shallow waters and maybe spooking any people that a giant bug monster was there. G was just having fun and catching the rays

Crime never took a vacation. That being said, who was said you can't work from home? Or well, a beach for that matter. She sat upon the wet sand, facing the sea. Her legs were crossed and her eyes closed as she took in the world around her. She would remain silent, peaceful, serene. For now, a meditation was in order. She needed to re-attune herself to nature and the world around her. She became dulled to nature and it's calling. She was numb to the world that birthed them all, listening only to concrete and money. It was a good rest. A calming rest. The jean shorts kept her skin away from the sand as the water crashed upon the shore, and slid up, to cover the girl before returning back to itself. A loose white crop top. The various scars over her body barely visible from under a loose and large dress shirt, the material wet, making it partially sheer. She took a deep breath, and exhaled just as slow. Her left hand extended to the large body of water, her palm facing the sky as a four foot rod balanced in her hand. Her right remained in front on her chest, her palm upwards like the other. It was the method she was taught, and would continue to be so. The day was quiet on the beach, with far less people that typically. The bone staff keeping balance in her hand, as she tried to clear her mind. The sound of the waves, the sound of the small things in the sand. Anything to push her thoughts out of her mind. There was things to be had, but it wasn't her concern, not now, not at this moment. Perhaps another time but for right now, it wasn't her problem. It was someone elses. ~ Word Count: 306 ~ |

Selena sat on the blanket, enjoying the waves taking in the sounds of nature. New York had nothing on this. Plus she had a picnic basket filled with food. The downside of being Haymaker- eating a ton of food to burn for your quirk. But she was not the only one interested in her basket. Animals were also granted the unique gift of quirks. More specifically seagulls. One landed near the basket that Selena had. As it watched the young woman rest, it signals out to the rest of the group to come to get the basket. Had to do this just right. The four seagulls lifted the basket and...
"Hey!" Selena yelled. "That's mine, you foul beasts!" The seagulls panicked, thinking that the woman wasn't paying attention. Plan B then. WATER GUN. The birds shot streams of water at the young woman, catching her off guard. As she was trying to clean up the water, the birds grabbed the handle of the basket and took off. The birds try to head out to the beach... only to see a giant silver crustacean with a silver hair man coming toward them. The birds' sudden stop threw the food out, it sailing towards G and his summon. Now with an empty basket, the birds flew over another white hair woman. Realizing there was no food in the baskets they dropped over the lady, squawking in defeat. Now there was a basket dropping from overhead aiming at Kasey as she relaxed. What a chain of events!

G and Goliath saw some food falling. With G using his Quirk to bring up his 2nd summon who caught the majority of the food on its scythe hands. It helped to have 2 summons. One that is more marine based and one that is more avian. In this case a large praying mantis that could grab the food and lightly place it on the ground or sand. The food that Striker, the praying mantis didnt get, was eaten by Goliath, the isopod that G was riding. He opened his mouth and grabbed the leftover food in his mouth. Although, that made G fell in the sea a bit since Goliath got up catch the food. G just angrily looked at Goliath as he dismissed Striker. He didnt want 2 bug monster summons to be on the beach. Plus a praying mantis is super scary Granted when G got out of the sea, he dismissed Goliath. He looked at everyone. There was more food, thats for sure. G didnt notice Kasey right away. His gaze zoomed on the lady who called out to the seagulls. He walked over to her and asked her "Are you alright?" the birds didnt peck her, right?

Energy based quirks seemed to run rampant. They were plentiful and born to curious people. Every one of them seemed to be interesting in their own right. She might not have known the small similarities shared with the woman not that far from her, but she would soon discover that truth. After all, it was one of her many jobs she preformed for her living. Just a series of small jobs to better the world. A series of things to bring about new information. But the sounds of those annoying birds needed to stop. She had came here for peace and tranquility. The distant cries of the beach pigeons irked her to a point she was driven to rise from her rest. A long breath in, and a slow exhale. She opened her eyes and turned towards the sound. She watched as they flew towards her, only to shake her head. She had dodged bullets, both literally and figuratively. But today simply was not going to be her kind of day. She rose, taking the staff in her hands, only to reach out and shoot the end upwards, hitting the basket in such a way to have to drop slowly, and safely. The last thing she wanted was to deal with more falling sand. She held the staff over her shoulder as the basket dangled on the end of it. She sighed, making her walk towards the lady. It was her basket, and the sooner it was returned, the sooner she could go about her business. She might not have known the woman, but the man was a familiar sight. She looked away from him, and kept a sort of distance. Whatever words to be said, she would let them have, only to hold her property at the end of her stick. "Oi! This yours?" she would call out. ~ Word Count: 310 ~ |

The number one vigilante approached Selena with a large crustacean. Was this his summon or his quirk... or a robot? Whatever, it was it just ate her lunch. Well, one woman's lunch was a large crustacean's treasure. But now she was short a lung and somewhat traumatized by the quirked animal attack. Again, did she just get water-gunned down by a bunch of seagulls? And she thought the pigeons in New York were a problem. But then again, one of Japan's top pros was a possum...
"Yeah, I am good," said Selena, watching the white hair woman coming with her basket. Her empty basket. Yay. "Yep, that's mine," Selena said embarrassed. "Sorry if it hit you." Way to start off the day. Her lunch basket attacking people on the beach with the help of seagulls. "Thank you for my basket," she said taking the basket. "I wish I could make up for all the trouble I caused just now..."
At the mention of her statement, the sound of an ice-cream truck could be heard at the other end of the beach. "How about this?" Selena said pointing to the ice-cream truck. "How about I buy you some ice cream for apologizing all the trouble I caused?" Might as well try to make friends.

The girl said she was good. But he wasnt. He was totally soaked when Goliath disobeyed him and ate her food. G soon hear a voice and turned to look at who spoke up. Only to see Kasey. He didnt say anything to her. She didnt say anything to him. He felt like a cat bit his tongue. The blonde girl meanwhile went to retrieve her basket.
She was grateful that was nice. People arent usually polite, so this was a nice change of pace. And then right on cue as she wished to help and repay the favour, an ice cream truck was heard. And she pointed at the ice cream truck. G looked at the ice cream truck, then at the girl and then lastly at Kasey.
G then replied "Yes we'll take the ice cream peace offering" he answered for both himself and Kasey. Maybe it was a bad idea. But, maybe just talking with Kasey wouldnt hurt. He needed to get her to be social. And so maybe a neutal 3rd year party would be nice to hear. Like... maybe Kasey would be social infront of this girl and not like.... cold as Antartica. He wondered where did he go wrong

Maker Be, was this always going to be so painful? All she could do was dart her eyes back and forth. She couldn't speak to him. Not again. She could feel the disappointment from him. His unyielding silence. No, she wasn't good enough for words. She didn't even belong here, much less in this city. It would have been better for her to remain overseas. It would have been better to remain in hiding. Everything was so messed up. To think she had the child. To think it was his."It, uh... didn't." she tried to keep herself from stammering over her words. She reached out, passing it back to its owner with her hands. Embarrassment would have filled her soul, but another emotion had taken its place. It was- An offering of ice cream. He had spoken for them. We. We. Right. So, if he wanted her as well, then Kasey was in no shape to argue. She wanted nothing more than to run away. To leave it all behind. Not just them, the world. Everything she did felt as if it was her fault. But all she could picture was that woman's face. "I have to do it, for her at least."
"Why not just do it for yourself?"A discussion in the back of her mind as she pondered her options. She shook the idea before grabbing hold of the staff, using it like a walking stick. It may have been large and cumbersome, but it at least was light and supported her weight. It would be enough to conserve energy, what little was being used. She nervously looked away, being carried along with the flow of things. It was fitting almost. Though, the coincidence of the raging sea and the man who could shape water seemed unlikely. She was the one that stumbled into his lair... ~ Word Count: 310 ~ |

Selena gave a small smile. People were not so bad as New York. In New York, you had people yelling swears at you as a form of good morning. But here, when someone was in trouble, they tried to help them out. Maybe Japan wasn't so bad. It was her homeland in a weird way. Being of an American, Japanese, and Chinese descent, she kinda felt out of place in where she fits in the grand design. And on top of that, New York didn't take too kindly to those who had a quirk. Although Japan was the same on the whole quirk issue, they weren't as bad as North America.
All in all, the home was home as long as she had her family with her. Not only that she finally got to work with the Informant as his sidekick. Who would have seen that one coming? But she had been keeping that part under wraps. She understood what the man stood for; operate from the shadows in secret. But all the same, she was happy with how her first few days were going. And now, she was going to get ice-cream. As the ice-cream truck pulled up, she pulled out the wallet from her purse she was carrying. "If I can, can I get vanilla ice-cream cone?" she asked handing him the cash. "And I will be paying for whatever they want as well."
As she took her ice-cream she turned to the two. "And if haven't introduced myself, my name is Selena Haymaker. Just got here from New York." She could tell some parts, right?

The girl ordered a vanilla ice cream cone. How... vanilla. G then made his order "I'll take the superior flavour thats chocolate" he said in a playful way and he let Kasey make her order. But if she didnt speak up, then he'd order strawberry for her. But if she did choose a flavour, then he'd stay quiet and not order anything in her name.
Once he took his ice cream, she introduced herself. "New York, eh? Well I'm Hawaiian. My name's Gabriel" he said and then turned to look at Kasey to make sure she heard it as well. Last time he was Gabe. But he changed his name... again. Honestly even if its legal, it felt weird. He identified himself as G. But he cant say his Vigilante identity to this random person. He was in civillian mode now. He looked at Selena. So.. "You're from east coast, eh? How nice. Hows America doing? I havent been there in like years" he said as he tried to make small talk. Still it was funny, while Selena thought Japan was nicer, G thought vice versa. That America was better. He didnt like Japan that much. Hawaii in his eyes was clearly superior

"Uhm... Chocolate chip Cherry? Or just cookie dough if you have it, I guess..." The names popped into her mouth, slipping past her thoughts until after. She wasn't complicated, she was rather simple, overly simple. In this world, it made her terribly complex in the eyes of others. Superior flavor? Was this code? No, it was pointless to mention something she knew. He was the superior and more ideal frontman as a hero. Kasey could never represent the people. She could never become a figure of justice, even if against the law. She would remain a symbol of corruption, lies, and mistrust. It didn't matter what she did, or with who. The would would spit her out like the fat left over from a steak. She wasn't the piece they wanted. She was just a leftover. She would patiently wait for her own frozen treat, careful to not lock eyes with the man. Her gaze averted to the details of the truck, counting bolts, small dents and every little scratch. From time to time, her view would pan over to the female. Hearing him introduce himself, she could feel his glare. His judgement. That was his name now. It wasn't Gigi. It wasn't G. It was Gabriel. Who she used to know, was gone. Who she used to be, was gone. But only one of them was worth getting to know. The darkness around her soul begun to close in, listening to the man. "K-Kasey..." she would say, tasking herself with the small meal in her hands. Her eyes would look over the horizon to stare at the sea. "New York is a busy place, isn't it?"It didn't matter what country she was in. It was all the same to her. Kasey learned to hate those in power, no matter where they were from.~ Word Count: 306 ~ |

Selena smiled at the two of them. "I loved New York. I was born and raised for most of my life there." Selena looked down at the sand in thought. There were still a lot of painful memories. Mostly of her father. "But they aren't too fond of quirkers. Most of America has been in arms against most of the quirkers. Japan isn't too bad though. It's nice to go back to where my heritage started, being that mom is Japanese and my father was Chinese American." She wasn't lying there. She was just a mixing bowl of different nationalities: Japanese, Chinese, and American. It was nice to come back to where her mother started before coming to America. And now her mothers were pros- as one. Selena was surprised that the HOC was so accepting of the two.
"I have always wanted to go to Hawaii," Selena, eating some of her ice-cream. "I just always never had the time to go." She thought about Kasey's question. "New York is pretty busy. There is a whole lot of traffic and noise. Tokyo City is kind of like that but more peaceful, I would assume." Selena knew about the riots and the zombie apocalypse that happened here, but she was pretty sure that they didn't want to talk about that. "So you guys have been in Japan for a long time," Selena said. "I haven't been everywhere yet. Are there some places I should go check out?"

G looked at her and how she avoided his gaze. He needed to say Gabriel. Thats his legal name. It be stupid to say his Vigilante name to god knows who. He was in civillian mode after all. G then turned to the new girl that was from New York and he asked her hows America doing in his absence. He listened how they aint fond of quirkers. Yep, that part was still true. G was sure his father was from the mainland. G nodded. He thought it was kind of typical. He didnt care about his heritage. He was proud to be pure hawaiian and not some mish mash of whatever. He always got annoyed how mainland americans tried to 'enrich' their heritage "Just be proud of what you are" he thought to himself
He looked at her when she said she always wanted to go to Hawaii. G wondered was that true. People would always say stuff like that. Like 'oh i always wanted to go there, but never got to' and 'oooh so and so. Such a lovely place, i love it'. He knew it was people being polite to your place of origin, its just G doubted when that politeness was actually true. She then answered Kaseys question and thus explained how New York is busy, a bunch of traffic and noise. But Tokyo is more peaceful "Press X to doubt" G thougt to himself.
She then asked the duo of G and Kasey have they been here for long. G nodded "For too long have I been here" but he didnt add anything else like locations. He missed home

Some people made a singular aspect of their lives their entire personality. Some girls were born with bright colorful hair, Kasey was one of them. But a few of them made it their entire being. A lifestyle dedicated to maintaining their strange naturally unnatural color. But remove that, and what was left? A dry, boring person with no real interests. She sounded like someone who was focused by destinations, and not the journey. Someone blinded by her heritage. It was likely her parents were american, and trying to connect to ancient roots would barely uncover anything for her. Here, she was an outsider. Not for her bloodline, but for the simple fact that she was not born in this country. All of it new to her, even if her culture would have easily made the transition. Any trouble, only went to prove how washed her parents were. Hawaii, was part of America, even if in their history they were claimed by force, just like many of the other island countries. An interesting read she saved for another time. A part of her regretted holding off that read until now. Perhaps that knowledge would have been useful to pertain to this conversation. Or at least, provide a bit of flavor. But would it be something he would approve of? Or would that topic create a much larger divide? But Tokyo peaceful? She had seen the madness. Either this woman was fresh, or she was blind to the world. How could one not notice half the city up in flames? Maybe ignorance was bliss. Maybe she would learn in time, or maybe she was choosing to turn her cheek to avoid all of that visual pain. "Maybe..." she struggled to think of something to say. She hated small talk, but now, it seemed needed. With his refusal to speak up, it either meant his own inward anger at the situation they were in, or he was forcing her to act. If he was upset, he would have been one to say good bye and leave. His continuing to stay was either courtesy on behalf of the treat, which was an act of forgiveness, or his secret agenda. Perhaps it was all just a method to force Kasey to speak. Maybe that was all he wanted from this. "Go on a tour of the city. Play tourist. Or wander around to find some secrets." It was the best she could offer. And without his mention of anything, she followed his lead, She didn't want to direct her to someplace he didn't want her at. ~ Word Count: 431 ~ |
