There was a soft breeze and yet this eerie, strange feeling in the air. Something was coming, and yet many already knew. The streets, however, were still not bare, enough people did not suspect a thing and came back from a late-night walk, date, anything and would stop and stare at the strangeness happening. Why were there skeletons walking out there? Surely it must be some kind of movie? No, no they got what it meant. It must be U.A.'s new training regime. The school had more strange things and the people that lived closely around it must be getting used to the dragons, the screeches, the howls, the screams. Everything must be fine, there were quite a few of them and well the neighbours would definitely complain that these new training things should be kept on U.A. ground and not all over Musutafu.
The moment the realization hit was when the news announced it, messages on the phone with the alarm and people starting to scream and the skeletons and zombies getting in action. Right before it seemed they stood still, drooling, not moving in smooth steps or anything. It were clumsy creatures, that's how it looked but it seemed like a new wave hit them, they looked slightly better, and although the strange wounds and dirty clothes still clung to the bodies, this new wave seemed to be more awake and screech, howl and groan. There were some distinct people there, two kids that looked like twins that held the other their hand and dragged themselves forward, it seemed they were missing chunks and so on, they were never saved, what was the story? It was difficult to know and to guess.
At the front was a woman, her hair dishevelled but yet it's old glory was back, the beautiful silver-blonde hair. Her jaw looked a bit unnatural as she couldn't seem to close her mouth and her breathing made a strange whistling sound, she might be able to set it right, who knew how this zombie trick worked but she seemed to pass the school without the goal to actually go there, no it did not bring her any interest, she had a goal and that goal wasn't here and ugh she had to walk so far and even as an undead she found it tedious and stupid. She did not pay the kids any attention nor the more dead-looking zombies or the skeletons, no she was above them and she had something else to do.
A mother got separated from her toddler and started crying and screaming, oh her baby, someone would definitely eat her baby and although the big mass of skeleton-zombie creatures headed towards U.A. and the students or others that were there, the civilians were still there, some were trying to get through the gate and be save or rescued but there were enough civilians out there that had no idea where to go, couldn't see where to go because of their panic or like this mother, had a reason to go back.
The breeze continued, a strange sweet smell would hit people and would make some zombies stagger and turn their head and wonder what was going own, the group moved even closer to U.A. to get some of that sweet smell that came from the school. What to do about it? What would happen, the order was out, defend the school and protect the civilians that were still around. How to start as the people seemed to be mixed either they were dead or they were not, some looked far too normal to be considered dead and yet they were.

“School of the Living Dead.” No…”Hunger at UA High.” Hmm. One of those two.
That’s how Mikki would title this, later, when he needed a name for his thrilling adventure defending UA. Him, as the dashing, stalwart teacher. Elena as the reluctant, but noble-hearted civilian, moved by his bravery to take up arms herself. And of course, his dear students (neither of which were actually his students, but...details), who would learn important lessons about youth, and bravery. Yes, he could see the poster in his mind right now.
It all counted on him surviving, saving civilians, and triumphing, but one step at a time, of course! It was always good to think ahead, wasn’t it?
It helped him focus on things other than the zombies, and his (vigilante) girlfriend’s first excursion since she had revealed that side of herself to him. In fact, he could think of it as a way to show his “teacher side” to her, and impress her with that! That would certainly be nice.
“Stay close--loose diamond, so you can cover each other. This is our chance to win the trust of the citizen of Mustafa, to show them the good we can do.” Mikki said, keeping his tone bright. The sound from Mustafa wasn’t pretty, as more houses and streets came into view, the group of heroes (and one civilian), getting every-closer to town. “Once we’re past the gates, we choose a route, then--” The first of the horde came into view, and Mikhail hesitated.
It’s this bad already?
Perhaps he’d been lying to himself. Trying to assure himself it couldn’t be that bad yet.
Action. No lights. No camera. Glory later. He needed to be the teacher they needed.
“Hoshizora-san, find the infant.” Mikki said, the cheer gone from his voice in a snap. Karen had worked with Tsutsuji. She was fast. What did Fion Galon do? He was a first year--
“Galon, start moving the civilians to the gate, protect them in close-range.” Mikki said, hoping that’d be enough. “Drag them if you need to. Be fast.”
That was all he had time to do--the best plan, two orders, and then--
“Elena, stay by me!”
Mikki threw himself forward into the buik of the undead horde, a swift, sweeping charge, quarterstaff drawn in an instant, jabbing it forward like a lance, then to the side, to try to shove a break. A moment later, he realized he probably should have asked Elena--he could only push, she could burn, but it was too late. His gambit was to make a wall of his body and tail between the zombies--particularly the silver-haired woman--and the civilians, and bait them into attacking him instead of his students and the civilians.

They barely had time to suit up when the news and subsequent alert came to UA. They called them zombies. It was the kind of scene you would have watched in a movie. This was real life though. If they were anywhere as bad as zombies from the movies then a dreadful sight was likely waiting for them outside. The students who were granted permission or else outright requested to participate in the defense of the school were assigned to various teams stationed at different points. Karen found herself working with some fresh faces along with a teacher she never really had much interaction with prior. Before them stood a horde of what was the furthest away from being fresh. She tightened her gauntlets in anticipation. Naturally Orlov-sensei was in charge of this team. There was a woman she had never seen before as well as a younger student. For him to get caught up in such an incident just months after entering the school, she could only imagine the emotions he must be feeling. She didn't have nearly as much action in her own first year though there were some troubles too. Tonight was different and a much larger scale than anything she had dealt with before. She was glad the teacher was there. This was not something she would have wanted to take on without a pro close by. The civilians were in panic. She just barely heard the teacher's instructions amidst the crying and screaming. "I'm on it sensei!"She would say in swift response, as she took off to get a better view of the scene. As for the sight she would see from above, chaotic would be putting it lightly. Well at least it seemed like most people knew to run in the direction of UA so there weren't many stragglers. The baby in question however was no where to be seen. It was dark so visibility wasn't the best but that didn't mean she was going to give up. She would give the area a quick sweep, flying low enough so that she what was on the ground but high enough out of reach of the zombies, unless any of them were unusually good at jumping. Part of her dreaded that it might have been too late. She needed a sign cause she was otherwise flying blind. Hopefully the rest of her team was faring better.

- baby we were born with fire and gold in our eyes -
Alright, so fighting a bunch of zombies was not how Elena imagined her day off. It wasn't like she and Mikhail had much planned on today than they did any other day during the summer break--with her taking an extended leave for mental health issues and him not being eaten up by both hero work and school for a month and a half, they just happened to have a lot more time to spend together. That was nice. She felt a lot better when he was near her than when he wasn't, and both of them loved the summer. Originally the vaguest notion of a plan for the day had been visiting one of Musutafu's beaches, preferably one that was private and away from prying paparazzi eyes. Then, because God had a weird sense of humor, Mikhail got called into work.To fight zombies.A lot of zombies.Elena had come with him, of course, both because he was her boyfriend but also because as a totally normal and not a vigilante individual she should be evacuating to the campus like all the other totally normal and not a vigilante individuals. Right? But of course, like everything else leading to this point, things didn't go as planned. With the enormous horde outside and more actually helpless civilians in need of aid, Mikhail had grabbed a few students and started organizing a little evacuation squad. And then he had grabbed her as well."Qué diablos estás pensando??" She'd hissed, when he'd told her she could use her Quirk to help fight back the zombies. Maybe he'd expected her to be excited, and yes, there was a part of her brain that looked out at the horde and got way more than a thrill of adrenaline at the thought of burning through it--but a bigger part was sick with sudden dread. "My Quirk isn't exactly subtle! If anyone here knows the top vigilante list, they're going to recognize a woman made of blue fire, aren't they?!"Mikhail had just grinned at her in that manic, delighted way he always did before he went charging into a fight. She hated how cute it was. It was distracting.
"Let's assume that they have bigger priorities right now!" She also hated when he had a point. Things were getting bad out there. She could either sit here and do nothing, or get out there and help people. She knew which one she should do. Sitting here when people were suffering was just out of the question. But it also meant putting herself in the eyes of UA, way earlier than she thought she'd get the chance to. When she wasn't sure if she was really, truly ready to do so.Matar zombis o mantener la cabeza baja... There really was only one option, wasn't there. So with her totally legally acquired fire-proof suit on she followed behind Mikhail, only now and then glancing at the student he had with him with as much calm as she could muster. He barked out orders to them so easily and she felt so out of place. Like the two of them weren't maybe four, five years older than the students. Hahah. Oof.And off they went.Elena drew in a quick breath, and the light of her right eye began to glow brighter and brighter, and by the time she'd jumped over Mikhail's tail into the zombies in front of him, her entire body had burst into brilliant bright blue flames. She landed a pair of kicks right into the chests of two near zombies, trying to catch them ablaze as she took them to the ground, digging the heel of her feet into them once she landed and stood back up. She looked back at Mikhail long enough to flash him a grin--with how her face was fully flames now, it only looked like a flash of white flame against the cerulean blaze--before swinging into more of the undead. There was no way a bunch of corpses would be able to withstand her heat so easily.wC: 679, @whoever else is here, buuuurn baby buuuuuurn

Fion had spent most his day at this point just lazying around not really doing much but of course he wasn't allowed to just be lazy today something really weird happened. Fion felt like he was in a horror game or something seeing zombies all around and other undead things like skeletons he wasn't really sure how to respond it was both cool and freaky. It didn't take very long for the school to get hectic and start putting people into groups to help out.
Fion was fine with helping out but didn't think they'd just make somewhat random feeling groups he was put with people who Fion had never even interacted with before let alone met before. All Fion could really tell was he was with a teacher and an older student but he didn't know who the other lady was at all.
Fion decided he'd just play it cool and listen to any orders given to him and hopefully things would go fine he did make sure though to summon out some weapons to ensure he would be as useful as possible for the moment. He decided to summon out his usual chain whip and a red spear so he'd have increased speed and mobility since he figured he'd only be rescuing civilians anyway.
Fion made sure to listen and get into position how he was told but it didn't take long before he could hear new orders when they got closer to the zombies so he made sure to pay close attention. He as he figured was told to try and get civilians to safety which was easily doable. "Yea I'm on it and I'll try to carry them wouldn't want to hurt people by dragging them." Fion could honestly lift several people at once if he wanted to but he'd only try to carry anyone injured.
Fion ran over to a group of civilians and started directing them to the school gates while making sure if anyone of them could need help moving or not. "Okay everyone with me we got to get you to safety if anyone's injured I can carry you." He made sure to also keep his eye out for any zombies getting close but made sure to just focus on getting people to safety for now.

Chaos unfolded. It felt depressing seeing so many dead. Most zombies looked perfect human beings apart from their complete black eyes and their staggering walk. Who was who, and what would that mean for the rescuers if they weren't actively looking for signs if this person was real? Surely there were skeletons, that was a lot easier to detect but amids this chaos, was there not someone who was still real? Where did all these dead people come from and did they know anyone in between there? It was difficult to say, too much chaos in all this darkness. Surely the lights of U.A. were there to provide help for those closer to the gate and to see if someone slipped through but it was difficult for those a little further, maybe even more dangerous. The only obvious was the panic in the eyes of the civilians, them trying to dash, pull and push themselves forward to get to Fion and thus the gates of U.A. Unless they lost someone else.
She was held by zombies, haggling her body so to say, which zombie would get the first bite. They were stubborn and mean and stupid in this case, which was her luck but she screamed, tried to push and pull her way out and try to find her baby who was still further away and crying even louder than her. Her eyes, so focused on the darkness to find her toddler, she had the will power, some sort of adrenaline of the mother instinct to push faces away but the power the zombies had to hold her and move her from one to another as if she was a bag of chips to be shared, that made her bad, and she was losing it but she was too weak compared to some around her to rescue herself. If only she had made it, if only she had not tripped and stumbled and let go of her son who had walked away into the wrong direction out of fear. They had been so close to the gate.
The toddler sat on the ground, after stumbling into the wrong direction, further away from the gate as he had not seen anything in the mass of people, now sat on the ground, crying loudly. A horde of zombies and skeletons making their way towards him, forming a little circle of about seven people. They did hear Karen, or well hear the wind make a motion as someone flew past, but they had first only attention for the kid until one looked up and threw something at Karen, surely it aimed for her face, missed and it got a hold of her foot, the heck was it? It was a skeleton arm, apparently, this person (or a dead one) could separate its arm from its body and now it was trying to pull Karen down!
The biggest group was in front of Elena and Mikhail, trying to make their way to the gate with lots of noise and unintelligible words. First, they seemed to be doing fine, the silver-haired woman in the group as well. But she was the only one that stood still, her body intact, her face pretty but the black eyes giving it an eerie feeling, something bad was probably on her mind. She was standing there, in the group of zombies trying to make a run for it either to the gate or far away as possible from Elena, that hurt and the message was quickly spread, so some tried to leave, trying to get to other civilians to get food or a hostage to survive, depending on their level of stupidity. Others tried to simply aim for Mikhail. "Serperior." That's what she said, yea sure you have hit the groupie but she did not like how he looked at Elena, she did not like how it all happened here and people got his attention and she was dead! She screamed, a sound wave appeared, doing the damage to the ground and the zombies in front of her. She had wanted his attention for so long, it even got her into an accident (eh multiple times) and look at her now, finally... in his sight but he despised her probably even more. Her quirk turned her, surprise that worked as well after resurrection, her hands turned into wings with red feathers, her legs turning into claws and her mouth turned a little more into a beak but not completely, her body was smaller, a little red looking bird, but the face of a human. She turned into a harpy and she jumped up, hovering not too far above the crowd and screaming again, soundwaves her form of attack. She would hurt him, because he hurt her.
Near the gate, another smart cookie had noticed the rescue attempt, surely it took a bit of time to realize what was the plan but it was now the plan to just get inside too. Studying in the shadows before adapting a panic state and trying to get past Fion was plan a. Plan b would follow but for now he wasn't there yet, he was going to hide before trying to enter.

It was absolutely strange fighting with Elena beside him. Mikky didn’t mind working on a team--it was a skill he’d been trying to improve on after the disastrous group effort to stop Redhorn that spring, but he couldn’t focus fully on his technique. His quarterstaff spun, slapping back withered hands as they reached out to grab him, moving with quick, jagged darts back and forth, trying to keep himself from getting flanked. He was moving on muscle memory, though--it was hard to do anything but block, shove, and counter when he kept feeling bursts of heat behind him. Having students around was another distraction. If they got hurt--
Mikky’s focus snapped back to the fight when the woman unfurled wings and screamed. He stumbled back, off balance, the world rocking around him.
Pain ripped through him. He was suddenly acutely aware of his bones, and ears, and soft jelly in his eyeballs, and all of it was thoroughly unpleasant.
“Ow!” Mikki hissed. He wanted to swear. Heroes didn’t swear, though. Instead, he doubled over, gasping and panting. That single note cut straight through his armor. His ears were bleed--he couldn't hear.
A zombie smashed into him, and he felt teeth slide against his armor. He dropped the quarterstaff, and grabbed a rotten wrist, turning into a basic four-corner throw, dropping the zombie into the mud.
Focus on the fight.
“You missed your calling!” Mikki said as he slammed his hip into the next zombie, reaching for his staff. “You could have been a star with a voice like that!”
It was just traditional fight banter. Behind the bravado, he was wondering how to fight a flyer. Hachi had always given him trouble like that when they sparred. And could he dodge her voice? How did you dodge sound?
He swapped the staff so he was holding it like a spear, jamming it into a zombie’s neck, before turning and sweeping around him, clearing space. He was moving further from the students, further from UA--trying to draw them away. Of course, that left one more complication--Elena--
“Dear~” Mikki said, voice a sing-songy gasp. “Do you fancy your odds better with the horde, or the harpy? Sign to me. I can't hear.”
He swapped into a defense stance, ready to clap his hands over his ears when the next sound-blast came. Mikki knew he was going to take another hit, but he wasn’t about to rush down the flier without a plan.

If vision wasn't the best then the logical alternative was to rely on her other senses. But unlike those who actually trained for this or had quirks geared towards it, Karen was pretty ordinary on this front. It took a while before she could tune out all the background noises and try to focus on any cries or shouts that sounded like it came from a child. And then she finally heard it. They were a bit of a ways off from the gate but she eventually spotted the toddler sitting on the ground crying. Naturally she wasn't the only one who caught wind of the loud sobbing. A bunch of zombies also started heading for the little one so she had to move fast. She was just about to swoop in to pick up the child when suddenly she felt strong grip latch on to her leg trying to drag her back. Quickly looking down, it was a severed skeletal arm, except that it was still capable of moving even after being separated from the owner. It was putting up a decent resistance. Was this some sort of quirk or could these zombies just do that? To be fair it wasn't like she could avoid being spotted. In the darkening sky, a bright light flying above would grab anyone's attention. These zombies weren't entirely mindless it seemed. Again thanks to the relatively poor vision she couldn't dentify who the arm belonged to. Heck quite of the few zombies lurking around were missing limbs and such. But it was a fact that it was stopping her from getting to the toddler in time so she had to think fast. Rather than resist, she flew down to ground on her own, grabbing the attention of the closest zombies. This was intentional. If she couldn't rescue the child directly then she could just make the hostiles focus on her instead and find an opening later. She grabbed the zombie closest to her and with a demonstration of the strength she had built up from all her training, threw the unfortunate body at the group of zombies that were heading for the toddler, hope fully knocking them down. "Hey! Over here!"She shouted to try and grab their attention while simultaneously increasing the intensity of her aura's glow. Something bright and making a lot of noise was hopefully enough to lure them away. The skeleton arm was still latched on to her leg and pulling but it was a lot easier to resist it with both her feet planted on the ground. Now she just had to identify the owner and take them out.

- baby we were born with fire and gold in our eyes -
Fire worked against corpses. Okay. Good to know. Elena swung her arms in long arcs, trailing flame behind them as she tried to hit as many of the zombies in front of her as she could, then did the same with a high kick in the other direction. Their rags would catch flame quickly if they were dry--was their skin dry as well, or was it like real flesh? Not up to finding that little tidbit out for her own curiosity Elena just kept swinging. It wasn't her usual style of fighting. She preferred to use her bat and knock opponents around before bringing down the heat. But zombies didn't really give a damn if their leg was broken, they just kept coming.
So fire was the best choice she had, even if it felt like she wasn't doing enough. She was worried about the civilians the zombies were rushing towards. She couldn't really carry them to safety, not without dimming her flame enough to grab them, and at that point she had no teeth. Could she get between them? Not without getting some air. She could leap over this crowd with a little boost but where would she--
An ear-splitting cry went out from behind her and Elena turned sharply around.
There was an honest to God harpy flying around Mikhail, and her eyes went wide, the white flame of the left and darker, deeper blue light of the right flaring with life.
Una mujer pájaro? ¡Perfecto!
If she could get a hold of her and set her aflame, maybe she could steer her like a bomb into the horde! The problem was getting up to her. And, also, that she was apparently trying to target her goddamn boyfriend. Was that blood trickling down his neck? Oh, that bird brain was going to pay for that one!
"Can you--" she started, then Mikhail got the last part of his sentence out. He can't--had that scream really been that loud? Bad. But luckily this plan was pretty simple. With one hand Elena pointed at Mikhail's long tail, then clenched that hand into the other, made a motion like she was throwing a baseball, and then pointed to herself.
She started moving towards him again quickly. If he understood, he would have no problem launching her up into the air. She was, after all, as light as hot air.
She'd have to apologize for the burned scales later.

Things were getting rather chaotic but most people going towards the gate seemed fine enough to walk on their own which let Fion keep an eye out for anything suspicious. He could hear a woman screaming and looked around and soon saw her being surrounded by zombies he'd have to act fast to try and help her but he could soon see something else suspicious. He saw what seemed like a zombie trying to act like a panicked civilian but Fion was able to see through him rather easily with how he was moving and the sounds it was making aswell as it's eye's as black as darkness.
Fion didn't really have time to both help the woman and deal with the zombie so he'd have to make a pretty serious call on what to do. If he went after the zombie the woman would likely die or get severely injured but if he went after the woman the zombie would likely get into the gates meaning he'd have to hope someone inside could quickly deal with it before it became a real problem. Fion decided he'd just yell out to try and alert someone of the smart zombie while prioritizing the woman in distress.
"Can someone deal with the zombie trying to sneak in I can't I have something more important to do first." For some insurance however Fion flung his red spear at the zombie trying to be smart hopefully getting smacked with a spear would slow it down abit. Fion then rushed towards the woman and decided to try and slam into the zombies to knock them over if he succeeded he'd pick up the woman and prepare to flee. Fion wasn't fully sure what to expect though the zombies could be alot stronger then they look.

Serperior & Elena
It looked like the Harpy grew but it was just the ruffling of her feathers and the way she flew, hovering in the air on the warm wind and just moving her big wings slowly, her legs lowering and just being there, staring at the naga down below. She did not scream on top of her lungs the whole time, but it was obvious that she wasn't happy and her eyes followed to what sparked her interest. The walking flame. She would only fly higher, using her quirk again to screech at both Elena and Mikhail, trying not to do damage this time but to get more space, to be able to attack better or maybe in the near future, escape. She wanted to remain, he just told her that she could have been a star. BUT HE RUINED IT! If he only would have given her time when she was his fan and listen to her voice, but no... pop stars must be so busy they did not care about other people. So she opened her beak and made another sound wave attack towards the duo, this sound could be described as a low base voice and yet piercing enough to be annoying, but did not hurt your eardrums or the jelly in your eye, it made you feel tired, slow, everything... the exhaustion would hit you. "It is no use, no one cared, but now that we are dead we are considered a problem!" She hissed when she closed her mouth again, would they come? The others? That would be an idea, she had no intention of going into this building the couple was protecting but suddenly it seemed to be something to do, but first, she would remain, obviously she felt the heat of Elena's power that's only why she wanted to get away from her, moving her wings from the back to the front to keep hovering but going up and up, circling around them.
The horde that had been worrying about Elena seemed to now go for Serperior considering her fire powers were focused on another, a small group (three) of the zombies kept a hold of the civilians, maybe it was like the Harpy said, they just wanted to live, no harm but live and do whatever it is they could do to stay that way, would it work? They looked fine and they felt fine, one of them could not resist, the myths of what zombies wanted were maybe not a complete lie, touching the soft skin of the man he was holding, "I want it, give it to me." He tried to claw it off. The zombie looked rather strange, his skin was tightly over the skeleton and yet it looked like it was made of some other substance than just skin, it had a grey tint, a stronger looking build, what could it be?
Karen
The child kept on crying and crying but he was getting tired as well, could you blame a small child? While he did so, the group of seven zombies had tried to get there when they heard something loudly, over here? The girl over there, Karen, seemed to grab the most attention when her glow started to become much intense. "Warmth." One said, it wasn't particularly that they wanted to kill the child, though it was probably part of what would happen, but it was that they wanted warmth, they wanted to stay and feel alive. Get skin, get heat, get anything that would make them feel hundred per cent human again. Not all of them though the one who was missing an arm of the group, moved forward, trying to pull with much more strength on his arm, having still able to in a form of telekinesis try to pull his arm back to the socket of his elbow. He was the smart one of this group and obviously still in pretty control of his quirk and power. With the one hand around Karen's ankle, he let go of his other arm and send it to her trying with his full force to push her on her left shoulder to get her to the ground. He could not indicate it well, it was hard to look at something that was glowing so brightly with his black eyes. A second zombie would move in on Karen trying to hit her with what felt like boxing gloves, though his hands were just made of fists, channelling some of his former power into here maybe? He would try to smack her on her left jaw, and strike her with his knee in her stomach. Well at least this one had martial art training before?
Fion
Being tossed and turned made her only scream more, scratches of the sharp nails hit her skin and she felt it, she was surely doomed and her baby, her poor little child. She sobbed while screaming for help. Watching if anyone dared to come to her, but actually she should ask them to save her baby. Finally she succumbed by the power of the three zombies that could not stop fighting over her and she fell on her knees, trying to crawl away while one took her by the upperarm. "Dinner now or dinner later?" The not so smart one asked, "We could share, yes, yes, we could? share meat, feel alive." He held up her arm that she tried to pull back but his fingers looked like sharp needles, the heck was going on here?
General:
Fion had noticed the smart cookie zombie, calling out for help to stop him but even though Fion threw his spear it did not stop the zombie from his goal, or well... temporarily it did. Without paying much attention to it, the zombie got hit by the spear through his calf, ending it in the ground in front of him. He grumbled, manged to pull it out and lean on it but trying to hop along while his calf and shin were slowly healing, the perfect thing to be a zombie!

Mikki didn’t consider himself an expert tactician, but even he knew when he’d overextended himself. Too many people to protect, too deep in the horde, too little time. His first instinct, ironically, was self-sacrificial--have Elena pull back to protect the gate, and free his students, where he held out against the zombie harpy as long as he could. It would hurt, but if anyone could survive the storm, it was him.
Elena seemed to have a different plan in mind. He couldn’t understand her words, but her plan seemed simple enough. Mikki nodded, holding up a hand for her to wait a second, then coiled his tail in closer, no longer moving, and trying to block as much space as possible. Instead, he popped himself up, teetering like a pole as high as he could stand, getting a quick view of the battle.
No one looked like they were in good shape. Each student was outnumbered, and protecting a hostage, a strange, deadly looking zombie was sprinting toward the open gate, and there were three more people who needed saving in front of him, along with the harpy.
Normally, this was where a pessimist decided sacrifices needed to be made.
Unfortunately, Serperior needed to be a hero.
"I'll have you know my coworker is legally dead, and he's a fine man!" Mikki bantered back, the harpy's screech loud enough he could hear it even through his throbbing ears. "Have you considered it might be a "you" problem?"
Mikki forced himself to keep smiling, nodding at Elena, his eyes glowing with excitement. If this was it, he’d not be found wanting. Neither he nor Elena would ever be found wanting.
“Out and back, be quick! Run up, I’ll give you a boost!” He shouted back, lowering himself back down, his entire body curling into a small, spring-like coil. He wasn’t Redhorn. Tossing people was easier if you were a literal ogre. He was, however, almost literally all muscle.
As Elena sprinted toward him, he tensed, ignoring the zombies, trusting his scales to protect him. The moment she stepped into his hands, he uncoiled, his entire body thrusting toward the sky like...well...a spring, tossing Elena into the air at the harpy. Mikki laughed in absurd, outrageous, devil-may-care humor. They were a team now, weren't they? This is what he could forward to.
For Mikki, it ended up being closer to a jump--he flopped forward, landing with a crash amid the two zombies fighting over hostages. His staff flickered open, and this time, he wasn’t gentle--he jammed it forward like a spear, impaling both zombies like a kebab, and tossing them at the third, odd-skinned one. It was probably going to knock the third hostage down too, but better bruised and winded than eaten?
As the final continuation of his diving flop, he wrapped his tail around the two civilians, protecting them, though they might not be entirely comforted being wrapped in the tail of a snake-man.
The screech hit him, and he covered his ears again, stopping in place, flinching and cowering, desperately trying to shield the hostages with his body. When it ended, he slumped, panting, holding himself up while leaning on his staff, before again, forcing himself to smile.
“Hold tight! This is for your safety!” He added, winking at them before they could start struggling. “Shooting Star! Once you have the child, get the runner. Arms, try to close ranks with me when you have your civilian!”

It seemed her plan to draw attention to herself worked out well. But she would be lying if she said the arm grabbing her leg wasn't becoming a legitimate nuisance. If she stopped resisting for a moment, she'd get dragged towards wherever the owner was. Actually come to think of it, maybe that wouldn't have been a bad idea. It was too late to try ot however. A second arm suddeny appeared, this time with the intention of pushing her down. Now being grounded was definitely not something she would want in this situation so it was time to fight back more seriously. She would parry the second arm, redirecting it away from her shoulder. It would probably come back again but she only needed it out of the way for that moment. She would then let the first arm on her leg actually pull her, causing her to 'slip' down out of the way of the punching zombie, sliding underneath its blows before it could connect. She would then proceed to twist her body around like a corkscrew, knocking away any zombies that got within close range before finally turning her focus on the arm on her leg. With the crowd being somewhat dispersed, she was now able to spot the armless zombie responsible for giving her this bit of a headache. She would aim her line launcher at the armless zombie, latching on to its chest, and then activated her shock cords. She had no idea if electricity was effective on these kinds of enemies but she was hoping it would slow them down a bit. If she was successful, she would then pull and drag the same zombie towards her while aiming a kick at its head in an attempt to defeat it. Would it survive even with its head taken off? She would have to try something else if it did. In the meantime she would continue to glow brightly to ensure all attention was still on her. She didn't forget that her main objective was still to save the child and she would wait for an opening to do so.

- baby we were born with fire and gold in our eyes -
"Querido, can the banter wait until after she's on the ground?" Elena quipped quickly as she rushed in, just in time for Mikhail to be holding a cheerful conversation with the harpy woman. She wasn't sure if he could hear her over that screeching but, hey, it kept her own focus on things. He reached out for her and her hands found his upper arms, and her foot found his interlocked hands. It was like something one might have seen in cheerleader practice. If one of the cheerleaders was a living coiled spring and the other had all the weight of a hot air balloon. When Mikhail released his muscles she quite literally went soaring up into the air, right in the direction of the harpy.
It was exhilarating. She hadn't tried something like this before. Hopping from roof to roof was absolutely not the same thing as being launched at top speed right into the sky. But this sort of thing would have been way too visible at night when she did her "work". Now she was out in the day, given permission, given a chance to shine.
Well, blaze more than shine, but it was a similar sentiment.
Whatever it was it was incredible.
Still, it wasn't all perfect. Being launched right at the harpy meant she couldn't do much in terms of dodging when she let out her next screech. It made her head spin in a very unpleasant way, and made her body feel like it was suddenly moving through sludge. It only felt like that though. She was still flying right for her.
Maybe if she hadn't been hit with that screech this impact wouldn't have been as messy. But, well, that was the harpy's own fault, now wasn't it?
Elena collided with the harpy mid-air and snapped her arms and legs around her shoulders and torso respectively, wrapping the flying corpse in a tight bear hug with a bonfire. She could feel the world swaying and knew that it would try to shake her off, but Elena held fast. A fall from up here prooooobably wouldn't kill her but she wasn't in a rush to find out. If anything, maybe she could get this birdbrain to crash somewhere that really needed extra help. Elena tilted her head back to try and see the ground and--Urgh, vértigo--tried to tug the harpy mid-air towards the main gate. If she could crash this bird right there and burn her up before impact, she could get between any oncoming zombies like a proper wall. From up here she could almost make out one trying to make it's way inside...
Well, let's see how badly this fall would hurt.
"This is for hurting my man, tu estupido pajaro!" Elena hissed, and then, arms still tight around the harpy's neck, she tugged with all her strength like some very fucked up joystick in the direction of the gate, aiming to crash them into the fleeing zombie.
If she happened to yank its head off or burn through its neck in the process, well...
She'd feel guilty if this person were living. But they weren't.

Fion was somewhat confused at what happened before him first he saw someone get flung into the air followed by the 3 zombies near him getting smacked around he wasn't sure how to respond. He did notice the somewhat risky move since it'd easily put the civilians in danger possibly knocking them out Fion honestly felt like their was a way less sacrificial way of handling things then potentially harming someone they are supposed to be saving.
Fion quickly snapped to though and noticed the zombie he skewered trying to walk with it like a cane or something which was a really stupid move Fion Re summoned his spear into his hand making the other one dissapear hopefully the zombie would be forced to slowly crawl giving enough time to easily deal with the woman in front of him.
Fion knew fighting would be pointless so he ran towards the woman and picked her up hopefully she was fine he'd then talk out loud towards the others so they are aware of what he was going to do. "Hey I'm going to take her towards the gate she's in rough shape and it's dangerous out in the open like this." Fion began to run towards the gate with the woman in his arms thanks to his strength it she felt very light to him hopefully the woman would be fine besides being tormented by zombies.
Fion would ignore the now stupid zombie and deal with him after the woman is back to the gate he'd quickly out run the now slowly moving zombie anyway. Fion had hoped nothing stupid would happen though and things would turn out alright though the zombies were pretty awful it really made him wonder how other groups were doing. Fion did get pretty worried he had hoped Monty was hopefully safe and not getting hurt he even worried about his friend the delivery girl she was a civilian hopefully she was doing all good. regardless Fion decided he'd gently say something to the woman he wasn't sure if she could hear him but he wanted to reassure her. "Hey your safe now we can take care of this mess so don't worry."
