APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Kaya can easily be described as fair with very alluring features. Pale skin, long shiny black hair allow her to easily stand out in a crowd. However, some of the minor mutations she gained from her ancestry may catch some people off guard. Her piercing eyes switch between yellow and blue depending on if she is feeling a strong emotion or not, that have slit pupils. It gives her a rather otherworldly stare. That being said, most of the time she is dressed for work. That normally boils down to some comfortable clothes and an apron but occasionally she does wear a chief's jacket. Normally a bandanna in her hair to prevent anything falling into her sweets. The apron she normally wears in blue and white with the logo of her business on it, which is a fox. On her rare days off she tends to dress rather fashionably, normally with a black, brown and red color scheme. Usually black jeans and boots, and a red and brown a jacket.

Personality:
Kaya is the type of person who would greet you the moment you opened the door. Making sure you are all comfortable happy. Until you say something rude and she will throw you flat on your ass. This general mindset tends to take over all aspects of her life from work, to home and to social events. She has been called a hard ass on more than one occasion but when she thinks she is right it is hard to prove her otherwise, it’s even worse when she knows she is right and the other person is heavily in the wrong.
While Kaya would consider herself to be a very good mother, she is far from perfect. She tends to be overbearing on her daughter, wanting only the best for her. She has a bad habit of being very tough with her punishments although she usually fixes the more ridiculous punishments after a few days when she realizes how crazy they could have been. It got a bit worse after her husband who was a police officer got killed in the line of duty when trying to control a villain. But she cares deeply for her and would fight the world if it meant her daughter was happy.

HISTORY
Kaya was born from two quirkers who found each other through the hatred of the world. Her mother had a quirk that manifested itself with powers similar to Kitsune, ears tails and a strange type of energy manipulation that could be stretched to cover so many different things. Her father was much more subtle, and at first glance just looked like a portly man. But he could control the amount of calories his body could burn through at a time. In short, Kaya turned out strange in comparison. While she maintained her mother’s fox features, it seemed more cosmetic to her. Instead her proper quirk combined the energy manipulation from her mother and her calorie control from her Dad which allowed her to make and control a sticky, sweet caramel. Or at least that’s the theory that went with when a young kaya got herself covered in the stuff and ended up having to get most of the hair on her head and fur on her tails cut off to remove the candy.
But other than that she lived as average of a life growing up that someone with an outward mutation could have. Insults, rude behavior, bullying, all of it grew to her overall annoyance with people. Yet she still loved people, she would talk the ear off of anyone she could when she got passionate. But as she grew and the strangeness of her quirk became more common knowledge to her and others she started to learn about candy making. The idea came from her father, since the candy she produced was safe for consumption, it probably had similar properties to the cooked confection. And it did, learning how to actually make the candy herself helped her understand her quirk and started a love of candy making.
But other than that her life had been pretty easy apart from some quirkism that she had to deal with. She had found comfort with a quirkless friend from school which eventually blossomed into a romance and near the end of her high school career, she was pregnant. She gave birth shortly after, becoming a stay at home mom who would sell candy as a side hobby to help fill in gaps in her and her boyfriend’s income. But eventually her boyfriend became her husband who joined the police force and they moved into an apartment above an antique store. That was their life for about nine years. Her husband was the primary breadwinner of the family with Kaya selling candies online and sending them out, not usually allowing too many commissions at once since she had to raise her daughter at the same time. The antique store had been closed below them for a few years, leaving an empty lot. The day had been like any other, only that instead of her husband coming home it was his captain.
When the news of her husband’s death reached her, she broke down crying and she honestly doesn’t remember much following the time right after it. The process of organizing his funeral and what happened after it just blended together. Trying to explain what happened to her daughter, figuring out what to do next and how she was going to make enough money to keep living where she was. Thankfully her landlord was rather nice to them, and allowed Kaya to get on her feet instead of kicking them out. She extended her lease to the store below them and with the help of a business loan, converted the space into a commercial candy kitchen which she named Candy Fox Konfections, it was a stupid pun based name but Kaya was proud of it. She reached out to her customers she had before to tell them about the store, focusing mostly on word of mouth advertising due to money.
The following years were trying, her store finally sustaining her and her daughter. Not with a fancy life by any means but their day to day became comfortable. She would work long and weird hours, teaching the craft of candy making to her daughter as she went. When the hero program was announced she was a huge fan of the idea, declaring that any costumed hero who shops at her store would receive a 20% discount. As well as U.A. students who had their ID’s on them. It helped drum up some business but her store is still far from where she wanted it. Her dream is to get to a point where she could afford another employee and help her lighten the load so she could return to spending more time with her daughter outside of the store. And After that? Maybe actually go to culinary school. She learned how to make candy herself and she would like to get her degree.
