Even then, he's a genuinely loving person, a boy who will never see himself above others and always keep in mind his humble origins. Hard to judge and quite understanding, he'll be the first one to defend someone's decisions by trying to understand them, although if he feels offended and can't justify someone's actions, it's incredibly difficult for him to ever forgive. In his quietness, he'll pay attention to everything about people, as much as he can, so that he can make sure he always interacts with them as well as he can, even if his anxiety gets the best of him. In costume, however, he changes entirely: His attitude changes to that of a honorable knight: Fearless, Honorable and Proud. In costume, he is a confident warrior who fights for what is just and protects the weaker. This change of personality, however, comes at a cost: His overwhelming confidence and feeling of power while in costume makes him into a dismissive, arrogant and violent, seeing himself as stronger than the weaklings, which is why he must protect them, as well as being stronger than the uncouth and crude villains, which he must defeat. Through both personalities, some traits remain, however: Both hold justice dear to their hearts and try to understand the enemy's reasoning as well as they can, however, both are incredibly hard to forgive after truly being offended, as well as being difficult to gain their trust. | APPEARANCE HEIGHT: 1.64 M WEIGHT: 67 KG HAIR/STYLE: Hazel-colored, voluptuous and messy hair, easily caught by the wind. SKIN/SCARS: Light-White skin, several cigarette burn scars on his back. EYES: Blue, Oval-Shaped. NOTABLES: Due to his quirk, his Irises have swirly shapes, signifying something returning to its origin. It's the biggest and only passive give-away of his quirk. Itsuki Kouta can fool even the best of them: In terms of stature and weight, he look totally like a highschool freshman, even though he's a senior. His clothing is usually derived out of a suit or his highschool uniform, both things that he holds dear to his heart. In general, his clothing does not reflect his age at all, always choosing for more formal, stylish clothing that remains comfortable at all times. His clothing never costs too much, even though he could afford a little more, he preffers to remain simple His hero suit, custom made for him, in a style that he himself chose, consists of a Lion-Styled helmet that covers his head and most of his face, leaving only his eyes open, for him to able to see, along with a plume styled like the fur of a lion. The way the helmet is constructed usually gives his eyes a more menacing shade, that not only keeps him mysterious, it also helps keeping his face cool from the sun. His shoulders are covered by synthetic brown fur, solely for the style of a Lion's mane. On his stomach and belt, two different insignias of a Lion rest, driving the "Lion Knight" theme as forward as possible. Not only that, his gauntlets, greaves and boots are all armored and clawed at the fingers/toes. His gauntlets, specially, have holes open at the palms, to allow for an easy activation of his quirk, even if wearing his gauntlets. The suit as a whole is a light brown coloring, like that of the skin of a lion, relatively loose like a tracksuit and stretchy like one, allowing for easy movement on the part of the wearer. All the metalic pieces on the armor (Helmet, Gauntlets, Greaves, Boots and Insignias) are all painted golden, although they are made out of stainless steel. |
❛❛The sound of a violin and the bravery of a knight. Two of the most beautiful things. |
HISTORY Life can't always be fair to all, no matter how much a person wishes it to be. Sometimes a person is born into an abusive household, to a family who can't afford to raise them or one that blames the innocent infant for problems he had no fault in. Sometimes, you'll be faced with a life you didn't want and suffer abuse you didn't deserve. Itsuki Kouta never had the pleasure of even knowing his parents, of knowing how they were like or how was their household. All that he knew, from the repeated screams of the abusive monster he had for a caretaker at the orphanage, was that his parents abandoned him the moment he was bought into the world. They left him at the hospital and dissapeared, to live their lives without an useless burden just like him. Instead, he lived at the damned orphanage, with the witch who continuously abused him and every other miserable child in that orphanage. Beatings were regular for anything that the children would do that even resembled fun. Food that even racoons would reject was what they ate and, every night, just to rub it in, they'd thank her for her kindness and care. Born and raised in hell, some would say. This woman, evil as she was, had a special spot in her cold heart to hate quirks. She saw them as freaks, monsters, aberrations, unworthy of rights or even a life. It only made sense that, when Kouta was unfortunate enough to accidentally manifest his quirk by returning a spoon that he dropped to his hand, out of sheer fear that he'd get beaten, she would find out and start giving him the "special treatment". This treatment included such things as tripled beatings that left enough black spots on him to shame a dalmatian, hours upon hours of verbal abuse, repeatedly being hit with thrown objects and, worst and most scarring of all, turning him into a living ashtray. All that it took was for her shrill, twisted voice to call his name. He knew exactly what to do, every time. He'd walk in, sit down on the ground and raise his shirt. Then, while she pushed burning cigarette after burning cigarette into his back, while his back was permanently burned and scarred, while his skin gained the characteristic smell of burnt skin, he was not allowed to cry, much less a whimper or a word out of him. Trying it would only bring more suffering. Such treatment scarred Kouta as internally as it did externally. For every burn mark on his back, the more he'd hate adults, smokers and specially women. To him they were horrible witches, born out of a fountain of evil with the only purpose of torturing the vulnerable. Four years. Four years since manifesting his quirk at three years old had he suffered such a terrible fate until, as it would regularly happen, a couple came in to adopt their own child. Kouta never expected much of the times when adults came by to adopt. Hell, he didn't want to be adopted. From what he was taught from childhood, supposedly, the abuse he received from the witch was "kind and benevolent". If that was benelovence, then other adults must be absolutely horrible. As chance would have it, however, he was chosen for his adorable swirly eyes and quiet demeanor, two things the father, a famous local violinist, clearly looked for in a child. Even through quiet protesting, the witch was more than happy to let him go, to dump that gutter trash onto a couple of idiots who would take such an aberration, much to his chagrin, even if he couldn't say a word. The first year was a continuous horrorfest of apprehension and fear. Kouta was untrusting and knew well how to hold a grudge, along with being anxious and fearful, always running away from his parents whenever they'd try to interact with him. The first big event came right at the first bath they were going to give him, the Wife and now Mother noticed the several cigarette marks on his back. For the first time, a woman showed compassion for his situation and hugged him, cradling his small body in her arms. Even though he hated women and wanted them gone, this one was treating him nicely. That show of kindness and continuous supporting behaviour was slow to crack at his quiet, closed demeanor. He was a boy broken by life at the earliest age of his life: conditioned to not trust any adult at all and any efforts to change that would be long and harduous. They did do their best, always patient with their son. This all paid off in one night, when Kouta could not sleep at all, the father, Itsuki Hatake, came into his room with his trusty violin. What came out of it, much to the boy's surprise, was a melody simply so gorgeous and soothing that he smiled for once, hugging his father right away and falling asleep soon after. Life improved in a steep manner from then on. Whenever he had problems sleeping, his father would play him the violin or, otherwise, his mother, whom he had grown to actually trust and love, would read him stories about knights and princesses, how the hero would win and good would prevail. Both these things shaped him and what he was passionate about: he was quick to pick up the violin and show actual talent with it, an instrument he keeps practicing to this day with his adopted father. To become what he most admired, a knight, he began training his quirk and his fighting abilities: he learned that, from having objects thrown at him so often, he had grown morbidly experienced at catching said objects, something that became useful to him. His ability with throwing objects came quite quickly to him, something he regularly practices. Through using his allowance and money he sometimes gathers by the side of the street by playing violin, he got enough money to get his suit custom made by a relatively trusted dealer to vigilantes in secret, along with a simple mace and, finally, he became the Knight he always desired to be: The great Lion Knight. Now, to this day, he leads a double life. Being the shy, anxious boy who plays the violin and loves his adopted parents to death, while doing vigilante work in his free time, where he can finally be unshackled from his fears and anxiety and fight for what is good and just. |
