Niso wasn't entirely sure where he was. He'd started to get a better grasp of which of these consciousness' was... core, to who he was. It was still difficult, sometimes he felt sensations that weren't entirely what he'd call his own but the more he tried the clearer he got. Even now though he could feel the pressure of all the other cells weighing down on them, trying to form a hand only to feel it be devoured and repurposed faster than he could use it... he just had to be faster. Better than the rest. He needed to be greater than the rest of... himselves? Ugh. If he was a normal person he could use all this in therapy later, but right now he had set goals. It had been a long time since he'd had full control over his own senses like this. He just... had to get a sense of where he was. He felt like he'd moved since the warehouse.
He formed a limb as quickly as he could, and shoved it upward. There was no longer a breeze, but the air was cool, chilled even, like standing in a refrigerator. He clutched onto the firmest thing he could, another cells attempt at forming bone on the outside of the fleshy mass he had become, and dragging himself up with it, gasping for air even though he no longer needed it in this state. His cells absorbing oxygen directly from the air but... it felt natural. it felt needed. It felt instinctive... but his instincts were holding him back...he needed to be smarter, more creative.
He couldn't see himself. he had no hair, his facial structure was practically melting, his mouth was held together by stands of flesh that stretched and threatened to snap as he opened his jaw. He could barely see but... it was white... clean... a head of pink and a head of green seemed to be looking at him through a window... he tried to form words but it was just then he registered he hadn't had the fuel to spare to form a tongue.. His torso, disfigured and... gooey, hung out of the 'face' of his blob like state, staring at the faces that were apparently examining him... where had they taken him while he was out...? Was he in danger? Where... had he been a danger to anyone? He didn't care really but it'd be nice to know if he was going to jail if he survived this...

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Oh, my dear meatball~” A small sigh escaping the mouth of a young, blonde biologist as she slipped back into the lab with a steaming cup of coffee in her hand, after stifling a little yawn the blue eyed beauty hummed and then looked toward the unfortunate subject who had drawn her attention toward, and spoke with sympathy in her voice as she regarded it. “It's nice to see you again~” English words falling from the lips of Sophie Sequoia as she looked toward what looked to be a mass of flesh that one might have expected to be the offcuts from a butchers and yet was somehow still alive, she had been called to this place by an old associate who felt she had her work cut out for her with the case before her, and boy did that seem the case given what they had been presented with thus far. “Listen, I don’t know if you’re a dog or a child, an overgrown tardigrade or whatever unlucky creature you are, but don’t you worry, OK?” What stood before them as incoherent and incomprehensible as the snow that scattered across a television screen late at night, despite the fact that they could tell that this was some form of living being the radical effect of mutations or whatever had happened to this cruel creation left the duo with more questions than answers, but that had not disheartened Sophie one little bit. “I’ll get to the bottom of it, and see about putting this right~” The type to be more excited by a puzzle when she discovered the challenge therein than put off by it, as she placed a glove on her hand and let a finger wander down that bizarre body the blonde beauty hummed and offered a few words of comfort despite not knowing whether or not whatever it was could hear her, and she tried to remain optimistic regardless of the weight of the task that lay out in front of her. “So do not fret, whomever or whatever you are, and rest assured that…” Stepping away from their strange subject with another sigh and snapping yet another formed film of nitrile onto her fingers as she did so, Miss Sequoia quietly assured her patient that he, she or whatever they turned out to be was going to be all right under her care. “We have the best possible people looking after you now~” Not a doctor and as such relying more on a sense of empathy than bedside manner as she rattled her fingers and as such reliant more on her empathy as began to call forth the notes they had taken thus far, she couldn’t help but feel a swell of sympathy toward her subject like none she had ever felt before, and despite her usual business-like bearing couldn’t help but feel invested in this project to a personal level. Maybe a certain nurse was rubbing off on her or something?

With almost an identical cup of coffee, Nimue came back in her little office that was more a lab with an extra chair than anything else. She huffed and had her lips all pouted and her cheeks puffed up. "Sorry about that, Mori doesn't like me being here and he keeps rubbing it in." The hero was a doctor but the fact that she was also a hero and that she was only twenty-five did not give the right impression to everyone around and that was why as usual doctor Ryuutaro Mori had stopped her in the hallway to ask what she was doing and how the results of the mysterious blob were going. Sometimes, she should learn to talk back to people in a not so friendly matter. She brushed her hair aside and put the coffee on the table far from their research. She sighed again as she looked at the creature, that was the only thing they could state. "Did we already check if it's really alive or just still making strange motions because of well whatever it was?"
Was it what she thought it was? Nimue wasn't able yet to confirm it was M.A.R.I.N.E. they all thought it was after their fist missed experiment. She had not told Sophie that yet, but she was sure the blonde knew perfectly well how they got to the idea of it. She walked back to the cabinets to look through the microscope again, a little stuck on the idea, she had not dared to give the medicine that she made yet, they had managed to make the medicine with the idea to heal the person on the moment they got M.A.R.I.N.E. but what if they were basically a puddle of the substance? Was it still functional, could they put the person or creature, whatever again it was, back together, that sounded impossible and it was going to work on the doctor her thoughts. She should give up instead of trying to figure this out far too hard but she shook her head, no. She swore to pay back the Plutocracy for taking her, harming her and just leaving her to die, and if she could do that by saving people from M.A.R.I.N.E. than so be it. She looked up, more at the ceiling than to Sophie, "if we could find a vein or some strange sort of blood circuit, maybe we can add the medicine that was made before in like the system, I don't know how else?" She refused to ask Mori's experience, she was showing far more than he had, he only thought with his... with his pride. She turned now finally to Sophie, "Or any other way to get it in the circulation and see if it would work but... how do we bring it back to shape?" Was the medicine for that? Not really? Than they needed a better medicine and she took the results out of one of the cabinets on her right, that were at the wall to get the blood results of previous M.A.R.I.N.E. research. They had at least blood.

Niso was pretty much just in blind agony to the point it was registering pretty numb at this point. He could still tell he was in pain, that he was miserable, that he was hurting, but it had been so constant that it was all just starting to blend together into an incomparable mess that he couldn’t fully identify. It was just… existence, at this point, and by lord did he want it to stop, but he wasn’t getting any impression that it would. Or that he could. Already he could feel the cells no longer under his control trying to digest the ones he could still call his own, dragging the briefly formed face and eyes back into the pulsating mess of flesh…
he heard them say blood… did they need blood?
Whatever Niso was right now his cells could agree on one thing. They all wanted to survive this. If the vague figures said they needed blood to keep him alive he was going to give it as best he could. An agreement was made in this war of Niso’s cells, and veins began to pulse against the outside of the blobby form they had become, giving access to them if they needed to draw more blood.
if they took any blood, or if they’d already taken any since Niso had been ‘out’ so to speak, they’d find hefty amounts of Marine in the blood. A normal sample perhaps but it was spread through the system far more thoroughly than most who took it, as if Niso’s quirk had helped spread it more efficiently, which it absolutely had before he realized what it was going to do to him. Moreso however, they’d find the blood cells were rapidly multiplying in the blood. Once they were removed from niso, the cells they held a sense of consciousness realized they no longer had a ‘whole system’ to work with and tried to survive on their own, showing signs of mutating into skin, muscle, and even brain tissue, creating small globby messes in the blood… before the rapid multiplication burned them out, running out of fuel, and forcing them to die.
Niso himself would die given enough time in this state. Each cell was individually conscious, but they were all desperate to burn the fuel that the body had, devouring neighbouring cells that were under other consciousness’ control… eventually he was just gonna run out of other cells to chew through. All the real ‘energy’ and ‘fuel’ he had had already been converted…
Several orafaces started to mumble on his mutated form.
“Foooood…. Foooooood…!”
it was all his half brained state could ask for to keep going, coming out like a demand while also weak and pathetic.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Maybe I should have a quick word with him~?” Smirking at the woes that her lab partner expressed to her, Miss Sequoua shook her hand and then swept some of her blond locks behind her ear as she offered a little vocal comfort to Nimue, and winked at her as she offered to take care of the problem in her place in a playful manner. “I’m told I can be very persuasive~?” Lightly rapping the edge of her knuckles against her palm as she jokingly offered to address the annoyance of her colleague’s acquaintance with a spot of old fashioned violence, while she knew that such efforts would ultimately do more harm than good if taken seriously she hoped that her breezy bearing might help to alleviate some of the stress that her buddy in biology was suffering right now, or at the very least help her to crack a smile because of her humour. “Hmmmmm, well I believe it’s alive? While whatever Mr Meatball is seems to be in flux, the way he seems to change and warp reminds me of continuing cellular mitosis, and while it’s not an exact science…” All too quickly the pair seeming to get down to business however and the question that Sophie found herself being asked something that she couldn’t answer with much other than optimism and a few of her choicer estimations, while the nature of the proverbial and somewhat literal ‘beast’ was such that she could provide few definitive answers she chose to rely on her sense of hope, and hoped that a little note or two that she had observed would help her companion to do the same as well. “I’d assume a mass of flesh like this would start to decompose if it wasn’t? Given how long it’s been in here, we’d see signs of necrosis or something? He’s changing, but doesn’t seem to be degrading?” Unable to give up on the idea of this being some rather abstract form of life, she wasn’t about to give up on the idea of this creature being capable of some crude form of life without some strongly compelling evidence, and in her own way opted to believe her patient was innocent until proven guilty, or at the very least something close to that in the more scientific spectrum. “I’d suggest being more invasive but we don’t know what-” It still seeming like Nimue had a point though given the vast array of differences between this grotesque being and what they were used to dealing with, even though the basic building blocks of animal life seemed to be contained within this bizarre ‘body’ they were unlike anything they usually had to deal with, and if Miss Sequoia had to put a strict definition on what they had she would have to consider her good friend ‘Meatball’ akin to something like a fleshy amoeba. Though he quickly gave a reason to reason for her to reconsider that assessment as he seemed to bellow and morph to something with a slight sense of familiarity, and another key fact to accompany that. “G-Gosh, starting to suspect he isn’t a dog after that?” Startled when the crude creation seemed to form anatomy enough to cry out to them and beg for food, as the heart of the blonde biologist raced she quickly revised her initial assumption of his origin due to the simple fact that he seemed to be capable of verbal communication, which was an incredibly rare gift even with such a plethora of subjects in the animal kingdom. “Certainly some form of higher intelligence if he can talk to us? And that desperation… Do you think it would help him stabilize if provided with the nourishment? At the very least, it might prompt him to reveal some method to supply that sustenance through the body that demands it? Like our own bloodstream~? Or at the very least hint at how he metabolises materials?” Really there only the scantest handful of beings capable of projecting themselves through vocal means and only one of them readily able to do so in a manner that Sophie could recognise, the demand for food was a simple one and yet not only seemed to confirm the suspicions that the scientific siren had, but also open up new opportunities for them to study and respond to as well, and as such she was keen to see if her partner felt as enthusiastic about giving into the demand as she was?

Nimue could not hide a small soft chuckle with Sophie's joke, "Don't ask again, I might say yes." It was good to see a welcoming and friendly face when it came to working with Sophie on this well... project. She wasn't sure what the call it only that the research was an interesting one and that they asked her because they had a feeling M.A.R.I.N.E. was involved and Nimue had requested Sophie for back up, which the hospital agreed with and did not consider a bad choice. Surely Ryuutaro Mori did but no one asked his opinions lately. Giving him a nice uppercut in the face was definitely something on her wish list but it was simply impossible to do if she wanted to continue being a professional doctor. She should not waste their time though and put her coffee cup far away from where they were actually holding the research, so she wouldn't actually drop something and looked back at their little living blob and back to Sophie. "That sounds horrible." Living in such a state did also sound... impossible but well with quirks and all it was hard to say the word impossible still. "That's a fair point you are making." It would be and even if decomposing would not have been immediately visible to the eye, they would have seen change or smell change and that had not happened either. There was change but more in the sense of it moving than actually anything else.
While they talked and Nimue suggesting the need for blood but not having spotted a vein before, stared with big eyes at the thing... it showed her a vein and she looked back at Sophie, "That wasn't there." They had stared at it for hours like Sophie said before, she would definitely remembered if she had seen a vein. She quickly took the necessary needle, the smallest she could find and a vial to get a little off and listening to Sophie's talking and explain while her questions had been asked before. "Being invasive in-" She had at first not realized why Sophie had stopped talking as she had finished putting a pinch of the blood on a little glass square to put it under the microscope. While Sophie stopped talking as she heard something, Nimue stared at the shaping and reshaping cells.
Almost bumping into the eye of the microscope she turned to Sophie as she mentioned dit wasn't a dog at all if you considered that and she wanted to ask until she heard it and well she was sure it wasn't either considering the cells but she had not managed to say something before. It asked them for food and again she looked at Sophie. "I think the metabolism must be very fast considering the changing of the cells I just saw and-" She peeked back and her eyes turned big in surprise, some had died. "And it needs food quickly if we don't want it to die. I get the tube feeding." Well lucky for them they were in a hospital, "Get a pipette will you? It must be in one of those cabinets in the corner. I be back soon." She would try to be rational and composed but obviously she was hurrying, she did not want to give up now when they were having a little bit of answers and trying to do something. She had seen it before, so it was M.A.R.I.N.E. a high doses and yet it had not killed this. Shit, she had not told that to Sophie.
Luckily she was back quickly and informed Sophie that she thought this was a human, "There is M.A.R.I.N.E. in the blood we just took but this quirk must help it to survive and that means it's a human being." She bit her lip and held up the food that she got, this must help right? Maybe get some morphine too?

[Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but as I read it the food has been retrieved but you didn’t feed Niso yet. Feel free to let me know if I misunderstood and I’ll make some edits.]
Niso could feel it seeping in now. The sensation of hunger across his unique form, across every cell. Even the ones he didn’t consciously control anymore he could still feel, slowly dying off one after another, versions of his own mentality crying a final death throw in a micro second before succumbing to full cell death due to the lack of incoming fuel, be it oxygen to that part of his body not making it due to all the cells that would be stealing it along the way, or the genuine lack of nutrients and proteins the specific cells needed to function. Right now Niso was close to being a closed system. Nothing in, nothing out, but the oxygen in the air and the heat he exuded… it wasn’t an exact equation, and he could feel his cells slowly dying, leading to an odd, flesh colored ooze starting to leak out forming the start of a thin, yet goopy puddle around his base.
Even now he was wondering though, would he have preferred it if that mercenary he hired actually killed him before this happened? He was in pain, an almost impossible to quantify amount of pain assaulting him in numerous forms from senses he’d only developed over the last day or so, but he was still there… observing… maybe he could come out of this… he whined again across his split consciousness- “FOOD!” Okay… maybe more of a yell… he just needed to make sure he got the lion’s share… not the other cells. Not the other Nisos. He just needed to come out on top here…!

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Yes exactly, from what I’ve gathered about quirks that regenerate a common factor is the obvious need for nutrients, and if this fellow is constantly burning and replenishing itself in such a rapid state…” It seeming that the two women quickly found themselves on the same page once their patient had given them a push into the right direction, Miss Serena agreed emphatically as Nimue mentioned the speed of the strange creatures metabolism, and quickly mentioned the research notes she had that would support the idea. “It’s gonna burn through fuel faster than an SUV going up the side My Fuji on flat tires?” Tucking her blonde locks behind her ear as she offered a playful analogy to accompany her explanation, with this situation certainly feeling tense now that the meatball was rumbling and roaring with desire the blue eyed biologist knew that now they needed to keep their cool more than ever, and as such hoped a little lightness and levity would help them maintain a clear and composed bearing. “Hm, yes, speed suddenly seems very much of the essence?” Not ignorant of the urgency of their situation either though and as such when the doctor of medicine demanded something her academic ally quick to react, as the green haired girl dashed out to fetch the food that their subject so clearly needed Sophie went about her orders with speed and efficiency, and had already returned to their workstation long before her partner had come back into the room. He does seem human, but what in the world could have done this to him? Even detrimental quirks are rarely so disastrous to their host? This factor allowing her a moment or two to muse over what they had found out, as the bizarre being seemed to writhe the scientific siren couldn’t help but feel a swell of sympathy toward it and nearly want to reach out to comfort it, but fortunately her rationality seemed to win out in that regard. With how hungry it was, she couldn’t guarantee it wouldn’t want to bite her hand clean off, after all. “M.A.R.I.N.E…?” The return of Nimue something that was speedy but also a little bit confusing as well, Miss Serena couldn’t help but find her mind hanging for a moment as the heroic healer mentioned the obscure street drug that was probably far better known to police officers than researchers like her, but after a moment or two she managed to conjure up a couple of notes she had found passed to her about quirk influencing substances and felt an even stronger surge of worry because of that. “Oh heavens, if that’s the case this poor thing might be some discarded test subject or something? God knows what he’s been though?” All those things seeming to have been developed and sourced by far from the most saintly forms of science in the form of gangs or something, while the scant details that had been passed along to the golden haired girl did not mention anyone specific responsible for it she did know it was highly experimental and even more dangerous, and if it was involved with whomever or whatever they had before them then they truly were a rather unfortunate sort to be mixed up in that kind of mess, and because of that the anatomical angel set about providing their subject with nourishment sooner rather than later…

Shoot she should work on one thing at a time and she came back when she heard another yell for food and asked Sophie to give her the pipette and she would try to get some of the tube feedings. It was the only thing at this point that made sense to her if she would need something nutrient and something good and easy to eat, it was this. She tried to find where to put it, she had missed two times in a row for the thing, the human being, sorry, to speak. "Right, yes, ehm I have some notes, I have been working on the medicine for it but we never got to the late stage, I am sure you are right and this is an experiment." Yet she felt iffy, maybe it was from seeing a blob. She tried to find it, trickle the tube feedings into what seemed to be a mouth. "I am considering getting morphine but I don't know how that reacts with potential M.A.R.I.N.E. left in the blood." The results were there still so how would it react, again something to research. She felt panicking and needed to count her breathing. She had lost someone who was not a quirker thanks to the reaction of M.A.R.I.N.E. to their body and this person was lucky she had no idea and no mind yet to think about anything the quirk could do. Was this food enough? "Can you take over?" She held up the bag and the pipette for Sophie to try and feed the person because she wanted to look up. "I think forming back if we can do that, depends on the capabilities of the person, right? Being able to reconstruct, right?" She needed Sophie her confirmation now every time, "And that means we need to also fight the pain before the brain simply shuts down." If you could say there was a brain left, so this person... well let's hope he had healing or regeneration skill as she had no idea how else it worked.
There were no answers to how M.A.R.I.N.E. worked in reverse. It basically gave your cells an overdrive, so much that your body would stop and shut down. It wasn't as if Plutocracy tried to keep you alive, maybe now if they had an updated version and that was the thing she needed to figure out. She had some more blood and tried to construct a mechanical reaction with morphine or something like that, as the latter was fluid, it would be easily added to the food. "You think we should try morphine?" She asked Sophie, trying to see if it was reacting well, she went to find morphine in the cupboards here and try to find a needle to add it to the tube feeding.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Ohhhhhh, sounds like something that I might have to pick your brains about…” The brows of the blonde lifting as her companion confessed the fact that she had been fooling around with that mysterious material known as M.A.R.I.N.E, even though she well understood the gravity of the situation that part of Miss Sequoia which clung to science couldn’t help but feel curious about what she had been doing, and the impact she had been having upon the drug as well. “At a slightly more opportune moment, of course~?” Fascinated by quirks and that preoccupation that she felt also extending to encompass anything which had an impact on them, while the ravishing researcher was sure to note that there was a better time and place for the discovery she desired she was certainly not dulled in her intrigue one bit, and would hold her fellow femme to the rain check she suggested. “Hmmmmm, do you have any samples left, from your experiments, you could test it on?” Frowning as she femme suggested the option of Morphine but also noted the dangers it might possess when considering chemical interactions, while Sophie wasn’t much of an expert on the dangerous substance they were discussing she was enough of a dab hand at biochemistry to understand the reservations of her ally, and despite the urgency of the situation quickly suggested a stop gap measure to test things. “While it might be the sort of thing better handled case by case, having a ‘test group’ could prove useful to us in dictating how we move forwards? Short of that, we’d probably just have to steadily test the dosage and pay attention to the responses? Even the slightest change would tell us something?” Time most certainly a factor in what they were doing but if the medic still had some of her research at hand the duo capable of at least performing a cursory experiment, while the results were unlikely to give them much in the way of long term assurance, it might help them to better decide whether the act was worth the initial risk. “Ah sure, I mean my bedside manner might not be on par with yours but… Seems your skilled hands are needed elsewhere~” Sighing softly and then smirking at Nimue when she was asked to take over the feeding process and moving into place to do so without a second thought, Miss Sequoia could sense that the seriousness of the situation was putting an incredible amount of pressure on her partner, and as such tried to break at least a little of it with a joke. “It’s OK, don’t worry, my little meatball~” Attempting to keep a bright an optimistic attitude rather than let their minds and methods slip into something with a little less of a happy outlook, the blonde hummed and then cooed softly to her patient as she aimed the pipette as best she could to feed him, all while hoping that the softness and gentleness that she showed even in these extreme circumstance would help the people around her stay as relaxed as possible. Neither doctor nor patient needed to be flipping out right now, after all. “Hmmmmm, it’s a risk for sure, whichever path we choose…” Continuing to offer morsels of liquefied nourishment as she was asked more directly about what they might do next, the fox frowned as she considered the options and found that neither of them were really ideal, but one at least seemed like a clear winner in her mind. “But ultimately, the brain shutting down feels like game over in this? If he has a reaction to the morphine it won’t be the best thing in the world, but feels more manageable than him shutting down and letting the drug win?” Doing nothing or close to nothing feeling like they would be giving up on this poor soul and leaving them to whatever fate lay at the end of this troublesome twist of transition, their other option was wrought with danger as well but at the very least had at least a glimmer of hope contained within it as well, and as such it seemed better to gamble with success rather than risk resigning themselves to defeat…

She was so grateful for Sophie being here. If she was not, Nimue would fall down in a big black tunnel of anxiety and would not dare to make any choices by herself. Sophie's neutral attitude and even her jokes made it a little more okay in the mood and yet it was someone to bounce her ideas off. She would try to find the morphine while they discussed it. Something to do, something not to do. She shook her head when Sophie asked if she still had her old experiments. "They were shared with the lab, I don't think I would be able to get them soon, but I have samples of this person's blood with M.A.R.I.N.E. in it, so maybe I can see for that." Looking through her cupboards she found a syringe and the little bottle of morphine. Normally a dose would depend on the quality of life, weight and so on. But you wouldn't know that with this... blob person.
She quickly went to sit behind the microscope and added a bit of morphine on the glass plate that she had been observing to see what happened. It did not seem that the drug attacked it so that was something and she looked a little more to see if something would happen, just to be sure as Sophie was feeding her little meatball and she tried not to laugh about it. But her shoulders dropped a little to an extend and show that she was less nervous about everything. "I think we could try, at least with a small portion of the medicine. I hope it gives a boost to overcome the pain and then we should try to find something to resurrect or well reform, I am not sure if my healing capabilities are enough for that but we could... I don't know, try?" This was all she could come up with and she was also trying to ask Nkosi's medical opinion, heck maybe she could even try with her own companion and use two healing at the same time but she wasn't entirely sure if Lindiwe was up to it or if it was smart to bring a dryad in a clean hospital, but desperate measures. She would first ask Sophie's opinion both agreeing to do it, she would at least add morphine to the blob as well before changing her eyes to green and trying to touch the little meatball to give some of her healing.

(im realizing this was harder to post for than i expected. Since niso's getting the medicine im gonna have this violent reaction to it, and you two can run through maybe a timeskip of tests and such, and i'll close it off with him escaping in the night? Sound good? hope so)
Niso tried to get a handle on the situation. From what he could tell from them they were trying to... inject him with something? Briefly his body shifted, reacting violently just to the idea, but what few brain cells he bothered to make reasoned with him that it couldn't be more Marine. They'd know not to do that to him at the very least. They were smart. They were... well, one of them was a hero as far as he could tell. All the same he had little idea what they were about to force on him but... at the very least he could be accepting of the help, continuing to offer his veins, forcing them to the surface of his flesh for easy injection.
As the fluid started to flow through his veins, accelerated by the rest of his body working together, pushing it to move through him faster. In it's own way it was an... exhaustive experience. It relieved the agony burning through his veins but slowly weakened him too. The effort his body was putting up to fight slowed and the once lively, self devouring meatball, slowly began to oooze and sag, like whatever was keeping it pumping was being put to... well, it wasn't asleep, but it definitely lost a vast chunk of it's energy. Laying there... limp... what few cells didn't get a dose of morphine still devouring the others, the meatball shrinking imperceptibly slowly.

The sublimely sinful seduction of science~
❝ “Hmmmmm, yes, that’s really not an option is it?” Sighing softly as she found out that her idea for quick testing would be a bust, while the brow of the brainy blonde furrowed because of her simple disappointment at these facts Miss Sequoia tried not to lose her sense of optimism despite this setback, and looked toward Nimue to make sure she was not getting too stressed out by the situation either. “A shame, I’d hoped you’d had them around here somewhere, but that was probably a little optimistic of me, wasn't it?” Not entirely sure why she felt the need to reassure her partner given the fact that the woman was a pro hero who had likely been through situations far more stressful than this and come out of the other side without too much trouble, in all honesty she was just being kind and considerate of the woman in the hopes of warding off too much worry in a ‘just in case’ kind of fashion, and hoping that at the very least her own positive attitude would mean eventually they would run into some positivity down the line as well. If they gave up because of a few setbacks, they wouldn’t get anywhere. “Heheheh, proving once again that the good Dr Nakahara is more than a pretty face~” Perhaps that desire to keep the spirits of the gorgeous green haired goddess lifted why she also offered to shoot a moment of playful flirtation her way as well, Sophie could heartily agree with the approach that the mistress of medicine suggested in regard to their application of aid and analgesia, and found herself reassured to have a woman who could keep pace with her thinking as her cohort for this challenging situation. “You’re right, if we apply a small dosage and gauge the reaction, we can steadily increase our output once we’re sure he can handle what we’re giving him?” Nodding as she looked at the emerald eyes of her accomplice and smiled again, even though everything that they had suggested seemed to carry plenty of risk without any real guarantee of success the sapphire eyed scientist felt upbeat in regard to their chances, and honestly just a little bit exhilarated as well. “It’s certainly far from standard procedure, but then there’s nothing about this situation which is standard, is there?” Feeling like she was on the front lines of quirker medicine or something of the sort and that sense of unknown discovery seeming to excite her immensely, Miss Sequoia placed her feeding tube down for a second as she moved to grasp the supplies they needed to carry out this experimental procedure, and while she acted as cool as she could given their circumstances found her pulse pounding as they embarked upon something new and potentially dangerous. “Is it bad that… I’m kind of enjoying this?” Not entirely disliking that feeling either though, in a weird way this event felt like it was not only her intellect but also the more subtle sense of adventure that this angel of academia possessed, and as such as she nodded at her partner once more and encouraged them to strike while the iron was hot she could hardly contain her delight at being a part of what they were about to do, and also her curiosity to see how they would turn out as well. That being said the blonde always a consummate professional and her fevered fervour by no means challenging the patient approach that they would need for the event to come, as the two women got underway the mind of the minx pushed back and subdued that animation within her so that she might act as an assistant to the mighty medic before her that bit better, because honestly all she was here was that; the help, not that she minded really. Happy to act like a nurse that would carry out the orders of her more experienced ally when she needed to, though a long night of work lay ahead of them she was daunted neither by that or the need to defer to the woman either. All the while marvelling as they used both the marvels of medicine and the almost magical abilities that Dr Nakahara possessed to support, comfort and ultimately do what they could to mend the poor Mr Meatball, though the path was a little tedious and all the more tenuous eventually it seemed they could move to point where their actions and equipment afforded Sophie to say one thing when her excitement began to get the better of her again… “I think we might be onto something here, don’t you…?”

The problem is that they needed time and they did not seem to have that, so she nodded to Sophie her statement. "I wish it was but I think like you said before we are racing against the clock right now and we don't have that much time." But maybe she should get a part of the M.A.R.I.N.E. medicine if Mori wasn't there she would probably be able to get it even easier with the head of the other departments agreeing with her, besides, this person had the drug in their blood flow. Maybe she could send Sophie to get it, she was snarky enough to get it even if Mori was there, pointing out the utter importance of their job of saving people and besides, Mori might not hate her. "I mean it might be smart to get it, we have to make this ehm person stable before we do that if that works with the food and the morphine we could get it as quick as we can?" Yes, she was going to use Sophie to get it. For the sake of being as fast as possible, so she would in the meantime check the morphine and explain to Sophie what they would do after this and where she had to go to find the lab and ask for it. Secretly she still hoped Mori wouldn't be there, her shoulders tensed up a little again even if they just had relaxed more thanks to Sophie's way of talking to her and handling the situation. She was putting so much pressure on herself for rescuing and fixing this person.
She lifted her face from the microscope and smiled a little to Sophie, "Thanks for being here, I needed someone to spar with and there is no one better then you are." She wanted to add that compliment as it was genuine and she should speak about how much she appreciated Sophie around here now too, her friend was necessary but also she was good at her job. So she decided that the blood did not react to her drip of morphine but it was hard to gauge how much te blob could actually take. She would find the syringe, see the vein that was pulsating as if it was trying to be there and stay there and she just added it. It did not go as much as she wanted but it did not like a disaster as well. But on the other hand it seemed to be going fine, right? "I wish it was on the one hand so we knew what to do, on the other hand I wish it wasn't because that means more M.A.R.I.N.E." But seriously this was a very strange situation, she had not thought someone would survive. "It ehm, yea I get what you mean, I don't think it's bad." She had hunched down with her green eyes, trying to touch a service of the blob that she could sort of intend to help the healing process, focusing, keeping her eyes on the shifting but to be honest, she was a little bit enjoying this as well, it would be even better if the results would be amazing. "It's probably the adrenaline, trying to do something good is an amazing thing." It needed time and at this point Nimue was very impatient to see a change, she thought the meatball was slowing down but was that a process they wanted or not at all.
While they were observing and done with the morphine and the food for now she was wondering if they were really on to something. "I am not sure, I hope you are right though." But now Sophie should go and grab the medicine that were upstairs, she would wait here, trying to cure it as far as she could, making sure the cells would no longer see each other as enemies and avoid infection as this thing must be very high risk on infections. When Sophie returned with the medicine (see Nimue knew she would get it), she would quickly get her hands off and ask for the vein again if it had disappeared. "Well here goes it, our M.A.R.I.N.E. medicine, I seriously hope it works and doesn't hurt too much." But was this person not in constant agony already because of what the drug did? She looked a little nervous, her healing couldn't do much more right? Now it was up to the food, the marine medicine and the morphine and this regeneration or whatever this person had to fix it.

Over the next few days of examination Niso's state would constantly be in flux. It was unclear if fuel in the form of food was aiding him or harming him. Sometimes it seemed to make him grow as the cells tried to rapidly multiply, sometimes it shrunk rapidly as they used the fuel to start canibalizing their competition and fighting over what remained. Even the medication from painkillers to the vaccine was getting mixed results. Numbed cells killed off, his body constantly at war with itself...
By sunday what was once a huge, pulsating meatball of flesh had degraded into a bubbling pool of cells. Tests indicated that the cells were still alive, still active, but unable to hold a consistant form while they continued to fight with eachother. Even with the horrific nature of the meatball it was hard to consider that whatever it once was could recover from this, and so, Nimue and Sophie would likely have to consider what to do with the remains. For now it was left in containment until they could ensure moving and storing what was left would be safe for them.
Niso meanwhile was in the foggiest state he'd been... the Marine was still powerful in his system, but he could feel it fading out. He'd spent so much time killing off his competition and now most of what was left... he could feel it was him. Everything else knew how vastly outnumbered it was and tried to hide rather than fight... but was this all he was going to be now? A puddle of cells? He knew once the Marine in his system finally faded and gave out to the vaccine he wouldn't be able to survive like this... he needed to push himself...
He heard a clack of the lights going off throughout the building. He needed to push himself. NOW.
A hand reached up out of the puddle, forming rapidly as if something was clawing out from the floor beneath. Everything was pain and agony. Too many nerves. Too little nerves. Too much skin or bone or muscle or not nearly enough but he needed to try. He needed structure. He needed to move. Another hand. Existance was agony as he started to feel more and more with the nerves he produced. A mouth, eyes, a deep breath. It was like fire in his freshly forming lungs... he dragged more of the puddle into himself, using what little material he had. He needed more. He wouldn't be able to sustain himself for long.
He pushed through a door... lumbered through the halls. He heard someone trying to call out to him. He moved closer, they seemed paniced, unsure. He was hungry. Every cell in his body felt hunger... his existance was hunger.
The voice got louder.
It croaked.
It was silent.
He had a labcoat now hanging over his shoulders. He felt more of his body... but he tasted blood... On his tongue. In his mouth. Against his teeth, his lips, his skin, his chest, his hair, his eyes. He could taste the blood in his eyes. Where did the man go? He...
He had to move. That's all he knew right now.
He slumped out through some sort of loading deck. Another muffled voice, a greater taste of blood. He had and pants now. He didn't know why. He didn't question why... he was more solid, more... firm... but he was still starving. He wasn't there yet. He needed more... he needed real food. Cooked food. Nutrients... he needed something more than what he was getting.
The taste of blood was disgusting..
