I'll shout and start a riot be anything but quiet
Nemuri was not born with a reason for crime the way some people were. In fact, with her pedigree she probably would have gotten some nasty looks from some of Japan's scarier criminals--she was from a wealthy family, her Quirk was subtle enough to pass for "normal" if she wanted to, she ran a tame little coffee shop on the edge of Tokyo's most frightening neighborhood...yeah, there were probably some who might have taken issue with her getting involved in some of these things the way she did. But she had her own reasons. They might not have had anything to do with money or power, but they felt strong enough to start a few little fires.
Not literal fires. Arson wasn't really her modus operandi.
But she still housed known villains and vigilantes (they were both "criminals" by definition of the state, and who was she to favor one shade of gray over the other) at her inn, no questions asked; and on occasion she made deals with people in shady chat rooms that involved selling pieces of her father's work--meant to sell for the benefit of heroes--for the sake of evening the odds. She didn't get heroes fighting vigilantes. Villains, sure, because they were kind of the whole antithesis of heroes in the first place. But almost every hero she knew of right now had been a vigilante when she'd first opened up shop. A few years didn't change their roots. So just because they had a fancy badge, it went from "us versus them" against all of crime and injustice, to "us versus them, and also the people we used to side with". It felt...well, like what it was: a betrayal. A betrayal to get legality, to get weapons and gear that the law "allowed", to get power they otherwise wouldn't possess. Nemuri didn't like seeing things so uneven.
Thus she was walking out of the post office, having mailed something to a little P.O box she'd been given the address of. She sent only a small enough square of fabric for them to test as they pleased, and if they deemed it useful, then she'd think of the next step. Would getting one of the illegal tech dealers involved be a good start? She was a good source of the materials, but the actual design and use of these things went over her head.
There was TV-man, who she could count on showing up at the cafe a couple of times a month if nothing else. There was also Fix who looked to be doing legitimate work, if nothing else than because the weapon he'd sold her hadn't exploded upon first testing. It wasn't like she should be worried about them being able to replicate the fabric.
If they didn't have access to its source, they'd only be able to make a crude, incomplete copy-cat.
Mm, alright, casual crime committed. Where should I go next? The cafe's closed til this evening...hm.
Nemuri adjusted the strap of her purse over her nearly bare shoulders, having decided it was just warm enough to neglect a hoodie but also overcast enough that she wasn't going to burst into flames upon entering the sun's light. Hah. She had really gotten very, very pale over winter. She'd have to badger her partners to go to the beach with her the next time there was a holiday. Sohma was even paler than she was. If that didn't change, they'd lose him the next time it snowed. Ah, but did she even have a bathing suit that fit her...
A glint of something in the window caught Nemuri's eye and she paused to look at it. The window was to a clothing shop. Oh, but not just your average shop. This place looked pricey. Nemuri hummed to herself as she looked at the pretty, pale silver dress in the window. It was shiny enough to catch the faint shine of sunlight. Dang. Very nice. What was the price tag on that? It wasn't her father's brand, definitely. Maybe it was ASTA. They did pretty things.
I could go for a new swimsuit--I wonder if they sell any?

It wasn't exactly her usual routine, she visited each of the shops in greater Tokyo once a month and that was it. The visits were short; clear cut, and offered the employees a chance to speak their minds and give her ideas on how to improve things. Sonya's highest, highest priority as a CEO was to foster loyalty and that meant treating her employees well. This time, however, she wasn't on the prowl because she was boosting morale. This particular location was close enough to Thunder's territory to be considered a neutral meeting ground. It was here she could go face to face with Taichi or Mami or whomever happened to be in the area. Because of that she wanted to boost the product and maybe increase the size of the store.
That was what had her in the limo.
That was what had her adjusting her hair in the mirrored window and checking every inch of her face. Immaculate. Godlike. Ready to tease poor Taichi, in case he dropped by when he heard about her presence. She smirked to herself. Or maybe she'd take a moment to play girlfriend for once and buy something nice for her ladies. Sure, she owned the company, but going out and buying things was... special. She glanced up from where she was checking her lashes and her spinning mechanical eyes spotted someone lurking in front of the store. She stood there with a posture that said she'd been there at least a minute. Why hadn't the employees invited her inside? The limo moved to stop; just as the girl turned to make her way inside on her own.
Sonya's heart. Stopped.
"Setsuna?" She exhaled. Reaching for the doorknob just as the car stopped. The driver started to get out to open it for her but she forced the door on her own, not even bothering with the usual protections against the sunlight. Her body felt woozy for a second and she had to catch herself on the door frame as she said again; "Setsuna? Setsuna!" She blinked, her eyes refocusing, the discoloration from the tinted windows had distorted what she'd seen. Pink hair. Glasses. Those eyes... but her face. Her face looked just like- Sonya blinked and flushed, clearing her throat with a nervous smile. She looked away, and hoped that the woman hadn't realized she was being called out to. Though, who wouldn't notice a limo stopping suddenly and a woman dressing out calling a strange name.
"S-sorry, wrong person." | TAG WORDS NOTES

I'll shout and start a riot be anything but quiet
Eh, fuck it, I haven't bought anything nice for me in a long time.
Nemuri chose to follow the age-old custom of "treat yourself", and broke her staring at the window to start making her way for the door, just as a pretty nice limo pulled up in front of the store and she paused to look at it. Huh. Neat. She must have been on the mark about this place being expensive. Even after so long not focusing on the main family's business she still had her eye for quality clothing. She kind of wanted to see who would step out of the limo but also didn't want to look like she was staring, so she started to head into the shop itself when--
Hm?
It's a strange feeling when somebody calls out to you, but doesn't use the right name. You're not sure if it's really you being called to--it isn't your name, after all, so why would you respond to it--but when there isn't anybody else around for it to be directed to you still feel like you have to turn around and react. So she did, brow raised and eyes wide with slight confusion. They grew wider then when she saw the person who had called out to "her". Long silver hair done flawlessly, clothing that was absolutely on the expensive side (and she would know, after all), and a face she knew from quite a few magazines and articles. Also, tiny, at least compared to Nemuri. Well at least she knew the answer as to whether or not this was an ASTA brand shop or not, if their CEO was showing up to it...
Nemuri glanced aside and shrugged, an uncharacteristic anxiety pulling at her smile. Ahh, she hadn't been planning on talking to anyone rich and powerful today. She usually had prep time for this. Even then, she didn't like it much.
Hey mom, I'm sorry I was so bad at my etiquette lessons, can I get a quick recap?
"No, no, it's alright! I've just got that kind of face I guess?" Nemuri placed a hand on the back of her neck, hoping that came out casual and flippant and not dismissive. Sonya Chernova had sounded kind of frantic when she'd been saying that name that wasn't hers. Hm. That was something to store for later, if ever, though. "You're, like, the Sonya Chernova, right?" Dumb question. No, she was clearly a different platinum haired drop-dead gorgeous woman in a several hundred yen dress. Suit. Whatever. Try again. "Sorry. I'll just. Let you get into your shop, hahah."
Oi, dumbass, why are you so scared? You're not a nobody. You're not on her level but you've still got a pedigree.
Yeah but I don't like flaunting it. It's not like it matters here. I'm just a customer.

Sonya ran her fingers through her hair uneasily and tried to look confident. Her big sunglasses helped a little with covering the expression of her eyes. She rested a hand on her hip and chuckled, "I suppose so, I apologize if I startled you," She managed, waving away the comment. She took a subtle breath, filling her lungs with the effort to calm down and ease her racing heart. What on earth was wrong with her? She'd just been at Setsuna's grave last year! She knew- the girl managed to shift the direction. Asking if she was the real thing. Despite her original tension, she managed to let a bit of the showman shine through; "The one and only~" She laughed, taking a few steps forward to the door. The girl moved out of the way and Sonya cracked a smile.
Aha. Okay. That's how it is.
She reached for the door and it swung open as an employee hastily opened it for her. Sonya rested a hand on her hip and looked at the girl. "You know my name, but I don't know yours," She said easily flipping her hair. "Why don't you introduce yourself while we shop?" She said, stepping back and offering a casual bow while gesturing to the open door. "Lady's first, please," She looked up and winked from behind her big sunglasses. Yes, Sonya, that's better. Get back in control. She just startled you is all. There's no way they could be the same person. Sonya glanced over at the employee standing nervously at the door and raised an eyebrow. "Give her the VIP treatment, a small apology from me for startling her earlier," She said, standing up and waiting for the girl to make her way in.
Flaunting a little would ease her nerves. It was the best she could do until her heart stopped pounding. | TAG WORDS NOTES

Oof. Charming women--one of Nemuri's biggest weaknesses. It honestly helped that said charming woman was such a big-shot celebrity (were CEO even classified as celebrities? Was there a better word for it? Thinking of her dad or any of her uncles as "celebrities" was super weird) like Sonya. It helped to keep her focus on that instead of anything stupid. Nemuri did have the self-control to not blush and look awkward when Sonya asked for her name.
Alright, bite the bullet. No point in dancing around it, right?
Except for maybe drawing this out so it doesn't turn into anything business related.
"Uhh, yeah, sure," she spoke softer, walking in front of Sonya at her bequests, fiddling with the strap of her bag, "My name's Nemuri. Ogasawara Nemuri. It's nice to meet you." She heard Sonya say something to the attendant that gave her pause again. Hm. It wasn't necessary, but if she was going to be getting something nice from an ASTA store she may as well get the full experience as well. Especially if the CEO was going ahead and giving it to her.
Nemuri drew up a little more courage and put on a better smile, like one she'd give to her friendly patrons at the cafe. Just act charming until you feel comfortable enough to be charming. That's how it goes. "I was looking for something for the beach, or at least for swimming over the summer. I'm sure that you have an array of swimsuits?" She paused and glanced over her shoulder at the window display. "Though that dress definitely caught my eye as well. I don't suppose it comes in gold instead of silver? Gold's more my color. Warmer skin tone and all that jazz."

[attr="class","itsover"]Sonya kept her cool as she walked past, she stood, hand over her chest while she willed herself to calm down-if only a little-there were small details that set her off the most. She paused, though, when Nemuri introduced herself. Her eyebrow raised. Ogasawara Nemuri. Ogasawara. As in the company? Sonya stood up a bit straighter on instinct, something she quickly fixed with a more relaxed posture. Her eyes were wide though and a delighted expression toyed on her face; "My oh my! Though I'm afraid I don't think this location provides the double VIP treatment~" She teased, winking once as she entered. [break]The store was of a generous size compared to most boutiques; this particular location was for higher class fashions and 'technical fashion' as Sonya liked to call it. Several of the outfits had color-changing fabrics or were designed to do something amusing like glow. The dress though; it had no 'special property'. Sonya glanced up at the silver dress in the window and paused, looking to Nemuri. She'd remained largely quiet while the girl spoke; her expression amused. "Oh this store has quite a few amusing swimsuits, you'll find more than your fair share, as for the dress..." She glanced over her shoulder and laughed when the girl made the warm skin comment. She couldn't help herself, having pale skin that felt like ice. [break]"Ha ha ha! Actually yes, it comes in gold, would you like to see?" She asked, resting her hands behind her back; "Or would you rather explore the swimwear," She gestured to a corner to the rear of the building with several branching off changing rooms for privacy. Along the walls between the various changing rooms were countless swimsuits of various sizes, designs, colors, and... racyness. A few of them appeared to have digital fabric, with pulsing lights on the bikinis, for example.[break]

"Uh, don't worry about it. Really don't. I'm, like, so removed from VIP-dom mentally so...it's fine?" Nemuri shrugged with a slightly weaker smile. She didn't like being treated differently because of her lineage. Yes, it had its very good perks but those things weren't really her. They were her dad and her uncles, and eventually her sister.
She distracted herself very efficiently with looking at the clothing around her. Some of it was just clothing--expensive clothing, of course, but still just clothes. The rest of it was more like the things you might see in sci-fi films. Nemuri stepped up to a one-piece that had a blue gradient along its sides, its body being entirely black, and brushed a finger against it. Yep, that gradient was absolutely shifting, like a hologram. That was something else. "...this shit is certified insane," she snickered more to herself, "You sure you'd want me to buy it? It's very cool, don't get me wrong, but if my dad saw this he'd be trying to steal it to study it. Which I admit is it's own incentive."
"The dress would be a good start. Maybe while I'm trying it on," she put a finger to her chin, "You could pick out some things you think would look good for me. I'm bad at fashion. Ironic, right?"

[attr="class","itsover1"]Sonya tilted her head and shifted her weight on her hip. She wasn't too surprised that the girl would rather not be treated differently because of her lineage. If she had to be honest, it was one way or another with most people. She drew her hand up and rested her chin on her knuckles, her swirly eyes whirring a little before focusing on what the young woman was looking at. She couldn't help herself, the girl reminded her of setsuna so much. She took a deep breath and had to push the idea out of her mind before walking over and running her finger along the fabric.
"Digital fabrics were developed in the 2010s," Sonya said casually, taking the dress up; "They were originally intended to replace LCD displays as something that could be more easily produced;" Sonya added, "Textiles weren't plausible for a while, though, until the technology to power them was developed," She smiled a little, stepping in close behind the Nemuri gurl and resting a hand on the rack, she gently pushed down on it and it trembled a little; "The fabrics are powered by vibrations. When you walk, talk, breathe, what have you; that feeds the ultrathin batteries laced throughout the fabric; charging them and sending power to the animated textiles;" Sonya explained, raising one of the sleeves up and stretching it a little before crunching it and then letting it relax. A ripple of multi-colored blues flowed across the fabric.
She stepped away from her close proximity to grin and cross her arms behind her back. "Go ahead and try it on, I"ll pick a few things out myself that might suit you~" She offered with a flamboyant bow and a curt little wink. She stepped over to one of the racks and considered a few options while she waited.

I'll shout and start a riot be anything but quiet
Nemuri nodded along like she knew any of what Sonya was talking about, like she was a child of this industry who should know things or something. She wasn't sure about wearing anything with any sort of digital-ism to the beach, or owning one in general. They looked very cool but she'd be worried about breaking it. She could see Misuzu loving it though, especially in a nice pink and red gradient. Maybe she'd get one for her...though Misuzu was so, so small, would they even have her size outside of a kid's section? Oof, maybe it'd be best to leave that thought alone.
She looked to her side to find one of the shop aides or whatever they were holding the golden version of the dress in the window already, held out on a hook as they directed her toward the changing room. Nemuri chuckled slightly. "I can hold the thing, thanks." She reached and took it, then walked past the person into the little room and locked the door behind herself. Inside it didn't look too much different than normal changing rooms at normal shops, only those didn't usually have full mirrors around and adjustable lighting like this one appeared to.
Fancy.
Setting down the dress on a velvet lined seat she started changing out of her clothes and into it. The simple off-the-shoulder shirt and her denim shorts were replaced with the shimmering golden fabric. She smoothed the dress over her barely existing hips and thighs, taking her time. It was longer on her than expected, but then again she didn't have too much in terms of, ahem, "build" to keep the fabric up. Luckily it wasn't too low a neckline, nor was it too form-fitting. It just sparkled like gold coins, reflecting little bits of light that bounced similarly off the mirrors. It was, in a word, dazzling. And she wasn't sure if it really suited her all that well.
She wasn't exactly decked out for this sort of dress, either. Flat-heeled sneakers and her hair loose and not styled didn't do it justice. But at least she was right about one thing; it made the golden tint of her eyes pop. That looked pretty good. Maybe if she at least put her hair up she'd get a better feel for it.
Hah, but when was the last time she'd even gone anywhere all dolled up and fancy looking? She didn't wear anything other than her normal clothes to go clubbing, at it wasn't like her father held fancy parties much these days. She hadn't been to one of them since her teen years. Would she even want to go now, if he invited her to one? Ehhh.
He wouldn't care if I showed up dressed to the nines or not anyway. So what would I even wear this for?
Nemuri sighed and cracked the door open so she could step into view again. Maybe a second opinion would do her some good. She looked around for Sonya again--it was still baffling that the woman had agreed to help her pick things out, but maybe she was just that bored--to get one. And whatever swimsuits or other things she'd picked out.

[attr="class","oneword1"] [attr="class","fromyou1"] @name Lets have ourselves a little fun~

[attr="class","itsover1"]Sonya stood in front of the swimsuit rack. Two pieces, singles, there were even some that were far more complicated than that. A few designed specifically for quirkers with tails with adjustable... rears. She rested her chin on her knuckles and swayed left and right, mechanical eyes surveying the possibilities. From first look Nemuri had a slightly more boyish body type; again, like Setsuna. A one-piece with emphasis on the waist and thighs would likely be the best way to go. Drawing attention away from the bust and drawing the eyes down would be a flattering way to wear such an outfit.
Three of the employees stood nearby, each with their hands politely folded in front of their waists, each with their eyes riveted on the CEO of the company they worked for. She glanced at the three young women and almost made a comment about seeing them in swimsuits for the summer instead of the more reserved uniforms they wore currently when the door cracked a little to the changing room; just past the trio. Sonya froze. Her eyes going a little wide. She pressed her thumbnail into her palm to force down the sudden flood of something intense that came over her. Wake up. That isn't Setsuna.
She blinked a few times. Awed. Like a golden goddess.
Sonya stepped past the trio without a glance, the three of them turning to see what she was looking at. The CEO strode in a circle around Nemuri, unblinking, eerily so. She didn't need to blink after all. She instead took in every detail, places where the clothing could be hemmed a bit closer to add a flattering shape; spots where it fit just right, she appreciated the way it shone out against the color of her eyes; drawing out the color until Nemuri's eyes nearly glowed. She took a few steps back and cleared her throat.
"Breathtaking," Sonya said, "Absolutely stunning," She blurted, emphasising her point.
She glanced at the trio; "Get measurements, hem and refine, I want it ready for her yesterday," Sonya said, clapping her hands twice. The young women scattered to gather supplies while Sonya tilted her head to look Nemuri in the eye; "How does it make you feel?"

I'll shout and start a riot be anything but quiet
Well, she'd wanted a second opinion, and she got one.
Nemuri caught Sonya staring and went still just outside the changing room, and let the woman approach. She circled Nemuri in a way that wasn't, well, uncomfortable, but there was a way that she was staring that was a little unnerving. It probably had to do with her never blinking. Right, didn't the ASTA head have something up with her eyes? Was it part of her Quirk? They did seem to be unusual but Nemuri had just gotten to the point where anyone's unusual features got noted and then brushed aside--given how many quirker clients she had at the shop, it was kind of a necessity. Staring at customers was a good way to lose them.
Or. Well. That was how it was at her shop, Sonya apparently didn't have that problem in hers.
It was doing a number on her previous judgment of how she looked in the dress.
I mean, if it's gotten her to stare...hmm...
Nemuri's cheeks visibly darkened, and she coughed into her fist. "Well, uh, thank. You. Thank you. Honestly didn't think I was pulling it off but if you say so." She blinked and suddenly the shop minions were getting ready to hem the damn thing. Christ, she hadn't even said she was going to buy it, but the attention and compliments were making it hard not to. Nemuri averted her gaze to the mirror at her question. Definitely not to avoid the intensity of Sonya staring and how her face already felt warmer. "Mmm. I feel like I'm going to dinner at Kitcho, wearing this. Or some other ludicrously expensive thing. It's nice though. Feels a little loose in places but that's," she glanced down at a person already taking measurements at her hips, "Something that's going to be fixed in, like, minutes, apparently."
Is she like this to all of her VIPs, or am I getting special treatment?
This could just be one big business scheme. All the attention, all the extra work to fit the dress to me...
I mean, it's working.
But still.
"Don't get me wrong, I'm super flattered, but you don't have to pull out so many extra stops." Nemuri glanced back down at Sonya with a slightly shy smile, which grew a little stronger in a moment. "I would still have probably bought it just from the way you're lookin' at me in it." There, see, she could be charming too, if she wanted to be.
