whack whack came the sound as Akio hit the training dummy. He'd been assigned as the training partner of a first year who'd asked for some extra sparring practice. Akio had been dying to properly try out the improved version of his quirk in a fight and jumped at the chance for some extra sparring. He was currently dressed in his regular exercise outfit which consisted of an active wear tank top, some basketball shorts and his sneakers. Once he'd warmed up a bit on the dummy he checked the time on his phone, he'd gotten in early to get that extra warm up in and wanted to see how much longer he'd be waiting for He should be here any minute now Akio thought as he sat down on a nearby bench and flipped through his phone to kill the time while he waited. He was curious who'd turn up as he'd never actually been told who he was sparring against, all Akio had been told by the teacher was that he'd asked for some extra sparring and the teacher assigned Akio as he wouldn't completely dominate the first year but would still be a challenge. He leaned back on the bench propping himself up with his arms and looked up at the roof patiently waiting for whoever was about to turn up

♔Obviously, the road to becoming a top hero would be long and gruesome. Harsh and difficult. Yuhiko knew this, but was not deterred at all. In fact, he welcomed the challenge. He was more than willing to put in the effort, to climb up the stairway to victory one step at a time.
Of course, the first step was getting stronger. Yuhiko was nowhere near the level of power he believed would be acceptable. He was not content with just being 'strong enough'. No, he would never accept such a lazy way of thinking. Only fools would willingly accept being average. Yuhiko was not fine with average. Above average was also unacceptable. Even exceptional seemed tame. No, he was a Yuzuki. An elite among the elite. If perfection was impossible, then Yuhiko was determined to go above and beyond to force the impossible to not only become possible, but an absolute certainty. That was the goal he strived for. He refused to accept anything less.
Which was precisely why Yuhiko had requested special training. Not just any regular training from the weak and unimpressive first years, but from the best of the best of what UA had to offer. Why settle for crushing small fish beneath his feet when he could try wrestling with a sea dragon, or at the very least a shark? Having gone to a teacher, Yuhiko was curious to see which third year would get assigned to him.
I do hope I'm given the challenge I specifically asked for. I want a top student to test my current power and limits against. Given the choice, I would prefer someone like Tetsuko or Yumi, though I suppose I would be content with someone like Rowan, Reddarcc, or Miku.
Upon arriving to the training area, however, Yuhiko would notice the student he would be sparring against. His face was like a mask, hard to see or read through his neutral facial expression. On the inside, though, Yuhiko was... less than pleased with what he had to work with. ...Oh. I was hoping for someone more to the caliber of the challenge I specifically requested. But I suppose the other candidates were too busy, and this was all that could be spared. Whatever, I suppose I have no choice but to settle for a less than ideal sparring partner.
It was not anything personal, as Yuhiko honestly could not care less about Akio specifically. In fact, Akio may as well be a stranger as far as Yuhiko was concerned, seeing as he never really bothered remembering the names of everyone in the school chat. Yuhiko just wanted one of the absolute best of the best to face off against and to push him beyond his current capabilities. It felt almost insulting to not have his wishes respected, to not be facing off against a top five UA student. But whatever. This was not a complete fiasco. A third year was still a third year, after all. Surely this guy was at least competent enough to not be a pushover.
"Ah, so you're the one assigned to spar with me." To Yuhiko's credit, he was at least doing his best to not sound disappointed. The crossed arms and sharp gaze probably did not help, but at least no one could accuse him of being disrespectful. Not completely, at any rate. "Fine with me. Let's get this started then." No introductions, no formalities, no nonsense. Yuhiko was here to train, and anything that did not help with that goal was a waste of time. "I have only one request. Don't hold back. The gap in power between a first and third year is irrelevant. I want an actual challenge."
Yuhiko did not really bother taking off his glasses. They were sturdier than the standard commoner glasses. Even if they did break, Yuhiko could always get a new one. "Whenever you're ready, then." Yuhiko wanted to get started as quickly as possible.
