"When Light and Darkness intertwine"

A blend of excitement and nervousness. Such was a rather fitting description of how Miyami felt right now. This was her first date. Ever. She had absolutely no idea what to do, how to act, what to bring or even wear. And of course, no close friends to ask for advice on the matter. Well there were the Iron Maidens, but none of the female gangsters were much of the dating type. Plus, they were all busy at the moment, so Miyami could not ask for their help anyway.

Hopefully I don't find a way to fuck this up like I do with almost everything in life.

Despite her nervousness, Miyami was really feeling happy. Rare, considering the girl's usual gloominess and pessimism. It was because of Angel. Ever since that fateful night, Miyami just could not get the winged girl out of her mind. Nor did she want to. Just thinking of that magical first kiss was enough to make her face go pink. For the first time in what felt like forever, Miyami felt joy. She had made such a wonderful positive memory, and she wanted more. She wanted more of Angel. She wanted to spend more time with her, forget about her depressing circumstances, and just feel like a normal happy girl in love for once.

Hopefully we'll have a wonderful time.

Not sure of what to wear, Miyami just went for an outfit that looked at least decent. It was nothing fancy, just a white shirt, black skirt and shoes, fingerless gloves, a thin blue jacket, and a simple necklace. Really, the girl only went with this because she did not have much better options at the moment. Maybe someday she could treat herself to finer clothes when she had money. At least these clothes were clean. After getting dressed and putting on a small bit of lavender perfume, Miyami grabbed a small wrapped gift for Angel and put it in her bag. With that and a small bouquet of flowers in hand, she was ready to head out.

Just as Miyami was about halfway there, she got a text. Seeing that it was from Angel, Miyami smiled excitedly. She eagerly began to text back. She knew her words would just pale in comparison, but the girl would do her best anyway.

Same to you, gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing you and making your day as wonderful, fun, and bright as you are. See you soon, beautiful!

Blushing at all the possibilities, Miyami began walking a bit faster. She just wanted to see Angel as quickly as possible. Why waste even a second? It felt like only a few moments had passed as Miyami saw the cafe, and more importantly, Angel already there sitting down. Rushing over to the table (and ignoring the one random stranger she had nearly bumped into), Miyami made her way to the winged girl, smiling as she gave her a warm hug.

"Hey!~" Ah, Angel felt so warm and soft. Miyami closed her eyes contentedly. She even smelled nice. Not being able to resist, Miyami gave Angel a quick kiss on the cheek, blushing as she did so. "Couldn't resist, sorry not sorry." She wished she could give Angel more than just a kiss on the cheek, but best to show some restrain for now.

Pulling up a nearby chair, Miyami sat down right next to Angel. "So how are you?" She was determined to do her best to not embarrass herself in front of the girl of her dreams. And more importantly, try her best to make this a day to remember.

If Miyami's face turned a bit red from kissing Angel's cheek, then that was nothing compared to when Angel decided to return the favor. "Mmmph!" It felt so sudden, so unexpected. But it was just so... heavenly! Divine! Perfect! Miyami closed her eyes as she eagerly kissed the winged girl back. It was like the absolute best dream, except she was not asleep. It was like going to heaven, except she had not died. Miyami wished she could feel like this forever. It was the only time the girl felt at ease. The only time she felt genuinely happy. She was almost disappointed when it ended, especially so soon. "Awwww, I was enjoying that." Miyami pretended to pout. But it was alright. There were always more opportunities to kiss some more later.

"Wait, what?" Miyami was surprised. It was Angel's birthday! She was 17 now, just like Miyami. Now the pale girl felt bad. She would have bought a much nicer gift if only she knew. "I wish I had known. I would have..." But before she could finish her mumbling, Miyami heard Angel's words. "Huh?" The birthday girl being the one to give a gift? That felt rather backwards. Not that Miyami was complaining, of course. "That's so sweet, Angel!" She gave her a small but warm smile. "You didn't have to..."

But Miyami did not finish her sentence. Upon seeing just what the gift was, the girl was stunned into silence. All she could do was look at the preserved rose, then to Angel, and then back at the present. It was so beautiful, so perfect and fitting. Words could not describe the sheer joy Miyami had felt. After a bit, Miyami did her best to form words and finally break the silence. "Angel, this is beautiful. S-seriously, I love it! Th-thank you!"

At that moment, Miyami felt Angel's warm and soft wing on her shoulder. Smiling, Miyami leaned closer to give Angel the biggest and warmest hug she could. "I'll be sure to treasure it forever. It's absolutely stunning, though not nearly as much as you are." Miyami was not the best with words, so she hoped that her actions properly conveyed the strong feelings of gratitude she had towards the winged beauty. She then pulled away from Angel. No need to make things awkward by constantly being clingy.

Of course, Miyami made sure to actually listen to Angel as she spoke, not just get lost in her angelic and melodious voice like usual. "That sounds wonderful, Angel. I'm looking forward to having a fun time with you." Assuming of course that Miyami did nothing to make things awkward. Or even worse, have San'en show up at the worst possible time. That would be quite the nightmare!

Upon seeing Angel's reaction to the flowers Miyami got her, she grinned. "No you." She did appreciate the compliment, plus the fact that Angel liked the bouquet of flowers. But in her mind, there was no way she could ever compare to Angel. The winged girl was a goddess! In comparison, what was Miyami? A cursed girl who just so happened to win the cosmic lottery of getting to go out with the most beautiful lady ever? But best to not dwell on that too much. Miyami was happy for once, and she wanted to keep this good feeling going as long as possible. Speaking of good feelings, she immediately blushed upon hearing Angel's wonderful whisper. "Oh w-wow... I uh... Y-yeah." Why did certain thoughts have to flood the poor girl's mind now of all times? Best to save those kinds of thoughts for later.

"Well in truth, those flowers aren't the only thing I got you. I actually got you a present. It's not much, certainly not as fancy or lovely as that gorgeous rose, but I hope you like it." She then showed her the small wrapped box. "Happy birthday, Angel." Inside would be a small pink ring. Not nearly as fancy as the one Miyami had stolen from that store that one time, nor was it stolen at all. She had actually bought this one legitimately, using money she had earned herself. Of course, with how expensive it was, it took pretty much everything Miyami had earned to actually afford it. But even if it wasn't super fancy, she wanted to get Angel the best she could get.

But would she like it? Even if the ring was not that fancy and something Angel could easily afford herself no problem, would she like the gift anyway? Miyami sure hoped so.
