For the set up for Jasmine versus Rei, an Underclassman who happily committed suicide specifically requested to go up against Jasmine once they'd seen she'd signed up, Yumi like the other classes she was helping organize had Jaz arrive about a half hour early so she could get a feel for the disaster scenario they'd be using as an arena for their fight. She could choose to play a villain in the scenario if she wished, but what mattered most was the pseudo arena itself. With holographic walls to give a milde illusion of more space than their was, this arena consisted of chunks of a commercial airliner scattered across a destroyed field, implying quite a devestating plain crash. Turbines still idly turning which could rev up and create a dragging force at a moment's notice, and potential explosive fuels scattered across the destroyed field.
By the time Rei arrived Jaz would have had time to get ready however she wantd. Presenting herself proudly? Hiding in part of the destroyed plane to burst out with an explosion? Whatever she wanted she had the time to prepare, even given the option to take on some cotume additives and alterations to take on a more villainous persona for her underclassmen, but only if she so chose to, of course.~

High up in the air, Jasmine surveyed the area with the limited time she had at her disposal. Yumi had the wolf arriving early specifically for this purpose and she wasn't about to disappoint. She had propelled herself high up into the air, almost near the ceiling, and as gravity took a hold of her she took stock of the landscape. A plane crash, post disaster area. A perfect opportunity to scare the freshman shitless have a good villain vs hero scenario.
She didn't need to prepare anything. With how much flammable fuel was lying around her quirk would do that for her once the fight started. The only thing she really had to worry about was going overboard and inflicting harm that was a little too difficult to come back from. She snorted to herself humorlessly, really unable to believe Yumi would feed Jasmine's quirk-enabled penchant for destruction like that.
As such, the ashen wolf had landed onto the ground with the aid of a few small explosions to soften her touchdown, and quickly went over to hide behind some rubble, circling one of the turbines. She'd gotten an idea for what would be quite a good entrance.
Let's confuse the kid a little, shall we?

Rei entered the arena surprised that the people coordinating this event would allow his request to go one on one with upperclassmen. After being greatly impressed by her during the training exercise earlier he had seen her name on the roster when originally signing up and left a footnote about it being a one on one. He was almost sure that Jasmine herself had some say in the selection process and was the one who ultimately let this whole thing happen this exact way.[break][break]
It looked as though he was the first one to arrive as he looked around to get a feel for the area. If they were to fight here he would need to take some time to scope out the area in order see what he could use. There was scrap metal and plane parts everywhere with the main feature being the body of the plane sticking out of the ground. He picked up a few chunks of metal and tossed them back and forth between his hands. It seemed dense enough that if he used his powers on his it could make a pretty good weapon given Jaz didn't destroy it.[break][break]
He then placed it down and began to stretch, keeping an eye open for anything that would give Jasmine away. All he really knew about her was that she was strong and could make explosions and with all these explosives around, he would have to be careful with what he decided to throw as it might quite literally blow up in his face.[break][break]

He'd arrived, and Jasmine was ready for him. A smirk on her face, the prowling wolf watched the familiar freshman get himself accustomed to the terrain. If she recalled correctly, Rei's quirk allowed him to change the weight of any and all objects he touched. She wasn't exactly sure if the actual mass of an object had any say in the matter of exactly how much he could alter, but in this case that didn't exactly matter.
The wolf, crouched low, watched as Rei played with scrap metal -- likely deciding on a weapon of choice to try to fend the wolf off. Smart... if it were that easy. In her mind Jasmine was already devising a plan of attack. One that might very well end up scaring the shit out of the kid and keep him on his toes... if not outright knock him off them.
Which, unfortunately for Rei, was exactly what Jasmine was hoping for.
Her smirk quickly turning into a grin, she pushed her hand against the back of the turbine gently. Crackling sparks begun to dance along her arm, down her bicep, then her elbow, to her wrist, gradually collecting into the palm of her hand. Not too strong. Not too weak. Just enough. She glanced over the side of it, towards Rei, calculating. Determining distances, velocities, mass, weight and everything in between to discern exactly how much force she'd have to use to enact her plan of attack.
Once that was done, the fireworks began.
An explosion, strong enough to cause a small shockwave, erupted from the palm of her hand, igniting the area behind the turbine ablaze. This, as a result, sent the whole now-flaming contraption barreling towards Rei, almost as though it was a rocket in and of itself. It wouldn't hit him outright. That wasn't the target. It would crash and blow at his side -- just close enough to give him quite a scare.
Grin only widening, Jasmine darted to the side just as the chaos ensued. She hid behind some rubble, found more fuel -- and did the exact same. Over and over and over again, sending objects crashing near Rei -- sometimes far too close for comfort -- all just to see how the kid will deal with it.
It wouldn't be too hard to discern Jasmine's position. While she was definitely staying low, it wasn't like she was focusing all of her efforts on hiding, nor was she trying to be unpredictable. Quite the contrary - she was moving in an obvious, circular pattern in the hopes that the first-year would be able to notice this and exploit it to his advantage... if he didn't shit his pants, that is.

As he rocked back and forth he continued to look around for any signs of his opponent. He only knew two things about Jaz previously and that was that she was a third-year and that she was able to create explosions...not much to work with, but whatever. As he contemplated the route she would take to get to him his ears perked up at the sound of a roaring flame. Turning around 180 degrees he would catch the sight of the burning wreckage flying towards him and for this one, he wasn't able to react in time as it crashed near him. He put up his arms to protect his face and the dust from impact kicked up. [break][break]
This time being more alert he was prepared as the second one flew at him and he tried to get a read on the pattern they were taking, flipping out of the way as it flew past him. He pivoted and ducked out of the way of the 3rd and 4th one as the realization that they were moving in a circular pattern and as he predicated based on this guess they next one came flying from where he was looking. Instead of moving out of the way he instead lightened his own body and jumped over the explosion which propelled him skyward due to the force compared to her new lightweight body. [break][break]
As he reached the apex of his jump he could spot what looked to be Jaz moving in a circular pattern and called out "Hey! Thanks for coming along with this today! Wasn't a huge fan of doing the team thing you know?" he began to descend slowly as he tried to make a mental note of all his surroundings in order to get a sense of what he could do next and what Jaz would do now that he was airborne.[break][break]

As she kept running and gunning, using her quirk in combination with the many stacks of plane debris and rubble lying around to create projectiles, Jasmine's keen eyes remained locked on Rei. She was infinitely curious to see how he'd handle a flurry of relatively large attacks coming his way, albeit predictable. The fact that he was able to quickly think on his feet and act in accordance to the assumptions he made in this first exchange made her smile a little.
She stopped in her tracks when Rei confronted her from high up in the air. Admittedly, the wolf was rather surprised that he had initially requested to face off against her solo. There weren't many who hadn't heard about her... rather unlucky reputation in spars and the like. Unlucky for the opposing side, anyway. As far as she was told, those stories were passed around even after she'd disappeared for damn near a year. After having seen the request, Jasmine couldn't help but take him up on the challenge. This was one confident first year.
"Oh yeah? That a fact or are you just a little too ballsy for your own good?" She asked, her smile quickly forming into somewhat of an excited grin. Standing still, Jasmine raised her right hand forward, thumb up, index and middle fingers joined together to form a pistol with her hand. Knowing Jasmine's capabilities with her quirk though, calling it a mere pistol didn't do it justice. "I'm not about to pull any punches just because it's your first year, rookie!"
With said challenge being issued, the wolf braced her right arm with her left, her hand enclosing on her wrist to brace for impact and strengthen her aim. Sparks began crackling down her shoulder and went down her arm as energy gathered at the end of the barrel of her two fingers. Head tilted slightly, left eye closed as she aimed with her right, tongue stuck out between her lips, she fired. Much alike the rumors, her 'pistol' was more akin to a magnum or a flat out hand cannon through both its strength, the noise it made, and the kickback that even shook the ground around her a tad, forcing her heels to dig into the pavement.
She fired once. Twice. Three times and then four, aiming directly at the chest of the first year student, yet that was the only part she aimed at, deliberately not doing what she would normally do, which would be to attempt to predict the trajectory of his movement and adjust her aim accordingly.
"Surprise me."

"Oh is that so? That's exactly why I chose you! Win or lose only one way to climb to the top right?" with an ear to ear grin he floated above her gently moving downwards very slowly. He has gotten his quirk to a new level since coming to U.A but he still had a long way to go and this was a good way to test that out.[break][break]
Having known already the difference in their level he needed to get back onto the ground as quickly as possible, but he knew that just making himself fall straight down would make him an easy target. As if a bolt of lightning struck him he realized he could use her own attacks to help him out...even if he would take a little damage in the process. He'd have to thank Kenji later for the demonstration before.[break][break]
"I only get one shot. Lets hope it works!" he thought to himself as he crossed his arms over his face and increased the weight of his upper body only which caused him to fall back as the first explosion now hit his arm. He winced in pain as it was a strong attack, but soon he began to rotate as he was falling backwards and steadily increasing and decreasing parts of his body until he was spinning backwards flying towards the ground. The other explosions did hit, but due to the momentum from spinning they didn't hurt nearly as much as they were mostly glancing blows.[break][break]
As he rapidly approached the ground he steadied himself so that he was positioned to land and made himself as light as a feather allowing him to land on his feet. He didn't waste any time as he took the wingtip of a crashed plane that was pretty massive (About the size of a small car), made it super light, and then threw it like a frisbee at Jaz. After that, he made a beeline for her as in order to win this fight he would need to get in close combat with her. If she blew up the plane wing it would give him cover and if she dodged? Well, it would let him get a lot closer.[break][break]

Watching like a hawk even through the sparking blasts she fired off, Jasmine determined that her first shot had hit its mark. Then the second. The third, and so on. Yet she noticed that something wasn't quite right. Rei had started to rotate and from his reactions alone she could tell her following attacks didn't have the same kick as her first one. Her eyes widened in excitement as her smile widened. This kid!-
To call her impressed would be a severe understatement.
The first year wasted very little time going back on the offensive upon landing, prompting the wolf to ready herself. Within the few split seconds she had to investigate the situation and make a decision, she realized that it hadn't only been the tip of the wing that he swung at her. He himself was charging towards her, tailing the projectile thrown her way. Her smile quickly grew into a wide grin. Close quarters combat, eh? Alright, let's see what you got, Rei!
Spreading her legs a little, Jasmine ducked low, collecting energy at the soles of her feet. A flash of light ripped through the area around her as the wolf launched herself directly towards the incoming projectile, much alike a missile. Her arms were crossed in front of her face as she approached. With a wild laugh, the third year swung her arms as she made contact, ripping through the wing with the aid of several quick and precise explosions launched from her forearms.
Smoke covered the area, yet did little to hinder the wolf's momentum. She darted right through it, the friction in the air behind her movement ripping through the dust cloud like a knife through butter. Jasmine's form quickly emerged on the other side, a tad above the first year. Fist cocked back, a grin of pure excitement still painted her features as she swung a haymaker down at his face diagonally.

For the first time in a very long time, Rei could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins. He hadn't had this exciting of a experience since he watched a hero saved hundreds of people all by themselves so many years ago. This was it! He was sure there was more to being a hero than just having a license to fight, but his smile kept gradually getting bigger and bigger.[break][break]
This kind of fight was exactly why he wanted to do a one on one and Jasmine did not disappoint when it came to the fight. He watched in awe as she not only countered his plan but basically used it against him as she ripped through the plane wing and continued forward.[break][break]
From the distance they had between them it would have been easy enough with his mobility to get out of the way, but in his eyes that would just give Jaz that momentum to keep up her assault. Just like before if he wanted to do something he'd have to take a hit first. As he dashed forward he brought up both arms near his face and as Jasmine swung down on him he gripped onto her wrist as tightly as he could and lightened her body to his absolute maximum. He couldn't stop the momentum or her own muscle strength so her fist would collide with his face, but instead of knocking him out, which would have happened had he not stopped some of the force, it just stunned him for a second from the pain. Once he recovered given that she was most likely still floating somewhat due to her new weight he would attempt an overhead slam using some of the momentum she carried with her in order to bring her to the ground hard before he himself would backpedal in the opposite direction as he felt himself slowing down a bit. [break][break]

While Jasmine would normally give herself shit for letting her excitement get the better of her, this time was a little different. Under normal circumstances the wolf very rarely charged into the fray head first against an opponent she knew very little about. Believe it or not, one of Jasmine's virtues was patience. This combined with the way the lass prioritized the gathering of information made for a very slow start which more often than not had a very big payoff in the long run. Now, though? By rushing in the way she did, the third year learned the answer to a question that'd been burning in the back of her head.
Yeah. Rei could alter the weight of biological life.
When the first year altered his own weight Jasmine couldn't exactly tell if it was his body that had changed weight, or his clothing. She had her suspicions when he changed his weight to avoid being blasted out of the air by her gunfire. Now, though, she had a definitive answer which she could use to create her next plan of action.
First, though? First she had to take a little bit of a beat down.
Her fist had made contact with Rei's face but unfortunately for the wolf it only had the fraction of the force behind it than intended due to the sudden change of her weight, something she hadn't been at all used to. She blinked almost dumbly as she felt her feet leave the ground as though gravity itself had let go of her completely. This drastic change had caught her completely by surprise, and considering the fact that her mobility on the ground held a heavy reliance towards how well she could balance herself on her feet, well. Suffice it to say the wolf had been rendered helpless for the briefest of moments.
This one singular moment gave Rei the opening he needed to swing down on the wolf, delivering a hard slam on the top of her head which sent her crashing into the ground face first. Jasmine grit her teeth as she tasted the dirt, her brain shaking inside her cranium causing her eyesight to temporarily haze up. Luckily for the wolf she was still victim to the weight-altering effect of Rei's quirk, which meant that hitting the ground wasn't as forceful as it would've been had she been at her full weight.
That small difference was enough to give Jasmine a speedy recovery. Slamming both of her palms into the ground, Jasmine released an explosion from the tips of her toes, forcing her body to spin upwards in the form of a reverse back flip, all while she release an explosive wave of chaos all around her just in case Rei had been planning a follow-up attack.
The second Jasmine felt her feet touch the ground, she released another explosion to make herself dart backwards, creating some space between herself and her opponent in an attempt to give herself the moment she needed to take stock of the situation. Her weight had still been changed from what it normally was, meaning she had to direct her flight using the force generated by the numerous explosions she let out from her arms... until suddenly her weight was back to normal, making her crash into the ground on her feet.
Her heels dug into the ground as she slid backwards, a brow quirked. Did this mean his control of weight depended on how far he was from whatever he touched? If that was the case, all Jasmine had to do was keep her distance. She guesstimated his range of control to be give or take fifteen meters based on how far she was from him at the time of her weight normalizing. Smirking to herself, the ashen wolf once again raised her hand, yet this time added a muzzle with her left hand encompassing the index and middle fingers of her right. Within a flash of a second dozens of blasts erupted from Jasmine's limb, firing off explosion after explosion in the form of an assault rifle, all aiming wide in Rei's general direction, intent on catching him wherever he went.

It looked like his caution in backing up once he got off a clean hit was a good thing as with her striking Jasmine was quick to recover. With her wide range of explosions covering the area around her as he jumped back, he thought quickly on how to counterattack and lightened his own body so the forces of the explosion actually sent him back faster. "Don't want to give her range." he thought to himself as he returned his body to its normal weight.[break][break]
As Jaz began to set up to fire off more explosions Rei sunk his heels in to stop his slide backward making sure he didn't trip in the process. He then kicked off his right foot as he dashed back directly heading for Jasmine "If I can't get close to you here..." he continued to run narrowly missing an explosion and grabbed a piece of the plane about the size of himself and made of steel before jumping over one in which made his body as light as possible so that the force of the explosion sent him flying upwards into the air far above her. [break][break]
He would spin as he climbed gradually increasing his weight until the momentum was cancelled and he stabilized before reverting himself to his lightweight state enough to float about her with the metal plane piece in hand. Despite being bruised and covered in dust he still had a smile on his face as he taunted Jaz from far above "Can't say I've ever enjoyed a fight like this before! Don't tell me it'll end this soon just cause your explosions can't hit me from here?" [break][break]

Muffled explosions rung out one by one, rocketing towards Rei like mini torpedoes fired out of a gattling gun. She was surprised to see him still being able to avoid her attacks and plan his next range of movements. Heck, the lass was generally quite impressed by how the first year had handled himself all throughout their little encounter here. It felt uplifting to know that the next generation had what it took to stand up for themselves. It wasn't a stretch to say that this particular specimen had far more than that given how enthralled by the fight he found himself. Jasmine couldn't lie -- she saw a little bit of herself in him. The Jasmine of two years ago was much the same by way of looking for challenges left and right and enjoying the thrill of the fight.
Yet... this wouldn't be much of an exhibition if Jasmine didn't show him what the third years were truly capable of, now would it?
Her hands lowered to her sides slowly, the barrage ending without much damage having been dealt. Her head raised, she watched Rei floating up in the air, his taunt causing a little smile to play its way onto her lips. "I gotta hand it to ya, kid. You're one hell of a nutjob," she said as the air around her begun to shift, temperatures rapidly increasing to the point it felt like an aura of heat started to envelop her. "Can't lie, I'm kinda sad to see this end."
Jasmine took in a deep breath and exhaled steam as a vast amount of energy begun to gather around her frame. Sparks begun to crackle around her in response to the wild energies her quirk had started to exude in tandem with the quickly climbing heat. Jasmine bent her legs low for the briefest of moments before she launched herself into the air like a bullet, the shockwave a second too late to keep up with her sheer speed.
In the blink of an eye the third year engaged her top speed through the release of several strong explosions at her feet. Her hair thrashed about as she started to dart into every direction in a zig-zag pattern as she ascended, the aura of flame she left behind making it seem look like she took on the form of a lightning bolt in order to confuse the first year. Within but a few moments Jasmine found herself suspended in the air right above Rei, having bypassed his defenses and appearing behind him.
"You got guts, Rei, but it's time the kiddy gloves came off. Keep it up and next time I might be on the receiving end of one of these...!" both of her hands went to her side -- one above her head, the next aligned with her shoulder height. With a wild roar Jasmine swiped both arms forwards, releasing a large wave of her some of her stronger explosions directly at the male's blind spot, intent on blowing him out of the air and sending him crashing into the ground like a meteor.

Rei felt pretty confident from his position. While he assumed the others had been struggling very badly even in a matchup where it was 2 on 1 he was doing pretty well! He hadn't managed to get any lasting damage on Jasmine, but as her reputation of an extremely tough and successful opponent, the fact that he was still up and standing at this point was a good enough thing for him. After all, when he came out of this brawl he could tell Kenji and the rest of his experience.[break][break]
As he looked down to see what Jasmine was going to do next it...what? The entire atmosphere of the battlefield seemed to change as she got into a lower stance. Even from the distance they had between each other he could see the sparks she was generating and he almost could feel in his bones what was coming next. As he blinked Jasmine disappeared from view and yet kicked up an insane amount of dust behind her which gave him an idea of where she was headed. He didn't have much time to react let alone do much to defend himself, but he figured if there was anything that he could do it would be to use the broken piece of the plane to defend himself. Using his lightweight form he swung the piece of metal in order to spin himself and give himself enough momentum to swing behind him. It was a ballsy effort as it would leave his front defenseless, but he thought ultimately...what would he do if he was in her situation? They seemed to think alike and luckily for him, it paid off! Or so he thought at least...[break][break]
As everything slowed down with him in mid-swing he could hear Jasmine speak and as she raised her arms his eyes widened as he braced himself. His plan seemed to work against himself as he could no longer find a way to get out of the situation unharmed as the metal shield provided some defense but was ultimately torn apart by the explosion as she was sent flying out of the sky like a rocket and crashed into the ground hard.[break][break]
As he laid there, slowly drifting out of consciousness, he couldn't help but smile to himself. If this was the true potential of a third-year...he would just need to climb to even greater heights. He had lost and yet in his eyes, this was a pretty solid experience.[break][break]
