bask in your schadenfreude, sweet nothing "ah, gantetsu? no problem, it was a drag but i was just doing my job! mm, yeah, no problem!" echoed from the outside of a flower shop had been the brimming utterance of none other than a fair toned male. with bushy, dark hair he stood on the phone orating with an individual of familiarity. the ravenette hair colored male wore a blue shirt with the word "rock-on" written upon it. pants that were an ash gray color; whereas, following in last for footwear, he adorned a pair of brown combat boots.
upon hanging up the device on his phone. he'd, then, enter the store. "yo, kiku-chin." he lazily called, a yawn following. the male entered with a single hand in his pocket, a salute following upon his greeting. "and how's the lovely, flower keeper doing?" kiku, responding in a titter, then replied, "i'm rin-rin. have you finally come to tell me just whom these flowers are going toward?" a nervous chuckle had been the response of the young lad known as rin-rin. scratching his cheek apprehensively, he wasn't sure exactly how to respond.
"t-that's none of your business, stupid. don't you have some flowers to go water or something!" rin exclaimed with a ferocious reply. kiku, chuckling once more, leaned in to look from underneath rin's gaze. he'd cover his face, blushing, and said, "w-what is it now?" the woman, smiling with a hue of red, said, "you've grown to be just as handsome as your dad." he practically hesitated in response. though, it wasn't until their jovial morality had been cut short once a new customer entered the fray.
as she left rin on his lonesome. he'd go to examine the appearance of new flowers that were on display. "plum blossoms, through perseverance and hope they will blossom anew." rin softly spoke aloud. examining the pink flowers as they rested within a pot on display. "ah, if only i could see the dark side of hope." the male verbalized. eyes groped by the beauty of the plum blossoms as a soft coloring of red invaded the tone of his cheeks.

Legacy and Reservations - I
The expedition to the flower shop was full of tribulation. The shopkeeper had enough difficulty finding the locale, adding to the stresses everpresent on a day such as this one. Not only did he close the shop on a busy day, but he was hellaciously behind schedule. He planned to do inventory while the store was clear, but the hours began to stretch threateningly and curl around the nape of possibility. Azmot was already teetering the line between the red and black: if he had to close shop tomorrow too, it might create a string of losses he couldn't recover from. Still, the errand was more important than his precious shop or any earthly commodity. With a sigh of exasperation, Azmot traversed the glass portal. The air conditioning moved the sweet scents around like stirred honey, wisping through his nostrils and enticing inquiry. He moved deliberately towards the register, with an amount of shyness normally unfamiliar to the young man. It wasn't due to any sensitivity to strangers or the like, but the anniversary of his mother's passing painted his world in melancholy shades.
He waited patiently and silently as the man ahead of him received plum blossoms, too lost in thought to notice the hushed dialogue. "Here's my confirmation number." Azmot handed "Kiku-chan" a scrap of paper with his number written on it, and she trotted back to receive his order. It might seem silly to reserve just a single flower weeks in advance, but the shopkeeper believed in order and preparation. He would not chance to have to get a different flower on such a day, not even one time since his mother left him.
The cashier returned to Azmot, who was shifting nervously, with a different cut of paper. He signed his name and put a delicate grip on the flower's stem. No vase or packaging: his mother loved nature. It somehow felt as if it would cheapen her memory. Probably silly, too. Azmot turned to leave. However, he had been so lost in thought that he didn't account for the shifting and what his final destination had become, so he ended up turning right into the previous customer. Unless he had some heroic reaction, they were in for a tumble.
Well, at least Azmot was, because as soon as he realized the imminent impact, he tripped over his feet, falling towards the black-haired edge-machine that was Rin. Azmot decided to toss the flower to the side instead of bracing his arms for impact, which would mean a head-to-floor incident was incipient.

bask in your schadenfreude, sweet nothing "ah, kiku-chin. i was wonder--toh!" an unexpected collision made way. it wasn't until a sudden interaction caught him by surprise. a quick notice of his surrounding, his peripheral caught sight of a flower that'd just been tossed; whereas, his body, took note of the male coming to close to a collision with rin. on instinct his left palm made haste to grab the male by the back of his head, burying his face into his chest.
without hesitation he'd call forth a single, blood curling tail. a light wince of pain uttering from underneath his breath. the tail, with speed and precision, caught the flower midair. the flower, gently, had then been placed down. the chromatically crimson colored tail dissipated into nothing, retracting as if it were never there. the left palm, still resting on the back of the male's head, gently softened the tightened grip that was no longer there.
"woah, careful there!" rin stated, the same hand used to hold his head now placed upon the right of his shoulder. "you could've injured yourself--or me for that matter." different colors in the rin's eye sat looking in the other male's own. his left was a golden color, whereas his right a brown hue. "ah..." a light gasp. the male's facial expression made rin's mind become locked within a trance. "you look as though..." a blush of red invaded rin's cheeks as they became a rosy color. "are you going to cry?" attempting to hold back a smile. seeing the male's sudden expression made rin want to know more about the newcomer of interest.
"were you that scared?! we can do it again!" rin exclaimed with excitement. though he was coming off quite a bit strong, so it would be no surprise had the male found rin to be of the awkward nature. he'd clear his throat, blushing once again. "sorry about that, but--as your hero--the name's rin, rin-rin, or rinmu, whatever you feel like calling me, klutz!" klutz was now the ash gray haired male's nickname. a titter springing back as the male tried to conceal his laughter. "ah man, seriously, you have to be careful. had it not been me you could've really injured someone or ruined your flower." pointing toward the item that'd fallen out of his hand. should the male, now known as klutz, look behind him he'd come to be able to grab his item with ease.
"were you in a rush to get out of here or something, klutz?" rin inquired out of curiosity. he'd walk past the male, making his way to take hold of the flower in his hand gently. "here," rin extended, "be sure to take care of this flower. you can't be too careless, these guys are delicate things--fragile, to say the least." a soft smile was then captured, unintentionally, onto the male's face as he eyed the flower. "one more question, whose this little guy for?"

... Impact never came. Instead, Azmot was met with a somewhat rigid surface and a hard grasp. Adrenaline pumped vigor into his blood, and he lost the sense of his surroundings for just a moment. As he regained reason, he turned his head against the hold of Rin. The flower, it- Ew, what was that thing? The yellow daffodil rested gently on a hideous surface, chromatic and fluid. Azmot slowly pushed off of the stranger's chest, tentatively picking the flower off of the... thing coming from the back part of Rin's body. That's all the information Azmot wanted to know about the tail, too - where it was coming from was none of his business. Then the duo made intense eye contact. The two-colored eyes seemed to peel back the thin protective film that separates two people, for just a moment. Azmot felt like he was being... probed, for lack of a better word. And he was scared. Rin was right. Not necessarily about this situation - well, yes, he was scared about the maniac who didn't know about personal space - but of the day itself. And he did feel like crying. Azmot pushed those feelings deep down, where they belonged. Finally, Rin made a comment about the flower. "It's for my mother." The shopkeeper shifted nervously, trying to wade through the discomfort. His eyes moved to the blossoms. "And those, uh, guys?"
