APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY
Appearance:
Masami is a reasonably tall, leggy woman with smooth skin, a near-perfect complexion and not a lot of meat on her bones. She is athletic and eats enough to stay healthy, however, and likes her figure the way it is. Her face is angular but also soft and rounded, especially her jaw and chin, with a mildly wide nose. Aside from having long legs, her appearance tends to be exaggerated by her clothing, make-up and attitude, relying on it to stand out in her civilian mode.
Her outfits are usually in some kind of goth or punk style, and was last seen wearing a cloth choker, a black crop tanktop with two crosses on the front, a flannel shirt, a pair of pink, denim cut-off shorts, a pair of fishnet tights and a pair of big leather boots. When she's out robbing places, she wears a UV-patterned bandana over her face, leather driving gloves and a big sweater with a hood. She also carries a pair of goggles that hang around her neck, which she has to wear when her Quirk is active to prevent loss of vision in order to avoid daylight sensitivity.
In her transformed state, she becomes covered in black, scale-dusted 'fur' around her upper body, claws on her fingers, bushy antennae on her head and ominous, glowing compound eyes. Great wings sprout from her back, big enough to fly with. The rest of her body appears normal. Her transformation might get more gruesome if she trains it.
POSITIVE
✔ Well-trained, quick to act, confident, thrill-seeking.
NEGATIVE
✖ Short fuse, self-destructive, somewhat regretful of her past actions.
LIKES
✔ Night time, fashion, loud music, soap operas, stealing pricey objects.
DISLIKES
✖ Bright lights, being reminded of her youth, rain, rich folk, liars.
Personality:
Masami has changed a lot since her youth, becoming a lot less idealistic and more self-destructive since becoming a full-on villain. She still has the discipline knocked into her by her former mentor, and has rather good control over her quirk and most of her emotions, enabling her to use her powers with a great deal of confidence. She rarely thinks on her actions too much, preferring to go with the flow and seek out excitement whenever she can, even going for more dangerous stunts because she thinks she can succeed. However, that feeds into her own self-destruction, usually shrugging off medical aid and pushing herself to limits that might shorten her life at a moment's notice. Sometimes, this mixes with her short fuse, letting her anger fuel her sometimes past limits she should rightfully obey, and can quickly get her into trouble when she's in civilian mode. She is also able to mask her past regrets fairly well, but still holds incredible guilt over events she had no control of, and holds folk at arms length virtually as often as possible. Though she is a villain, she doesn't hold heroes and vigilantes responsible for foiling her criminal acts, and won't hesitate to assist a 'do-gooder' indirectly if a certain villain gains her ire.

HISTORY
Masami was born in Tokyo, sometime in 2055, in a period where quirks became more accepted and villain activity began to surge. She wasn't exactly a spoiled child, but lived comfortably, even as her quirk began to manifest. Because of her monstrous form, she was put under curfews by her parents who believed her powers had something to do with the night cycle, and coddled a lot as her 'obsession' with bright lights became apparent. Into her teenage years, naturally she became more rebellious, and started to train her quirk to prove to her parents she wasn't at risk from any criminal activity. They let her breath a little more, and for the next few years, she was just the same as any other young woman, and remained unassuming until villains began to become overzealous in the part of Tokyo which she lived in.
When a petty quirked criminal stole from her father's pawn shop, Masami put on whatever clothes she could to mask her appearance and apprehended them, scaring them with her bug-like transformation and returning what was stolen without a word. Though her parents knew she'd used her powers in public, they said nothing, and continued to protect their daughter's identity. Masami began to go out into the community to thwart arson, shoplifting, mugging and assaults, and soon made a reputation for herself as the "Mothman of Tokyo", whilst still living a civilian life. Soon, her talents were scouted by another vigilante, a man known as Leaper.
Leaper was an experienced vigilante who had the powers of a grasshopper, finding some kind of kinship with Masami due to being bug-themed. Together, they fought criminals and villains, usually street-level to protect the locals. Leaper had developed a system where he took souvenirs from the criminals he stopped, usually money or jewellery, which he supposedly passed back to the original owners. It wasn't until that local crimes started going up, when she discovered none of those goods were being brought to her father's shop, when she found out that Leaper was only stopping crimes that got in the way of the criminal underworld, including several major villains operating at the time. When she confronted him about it, the two got into a heated argument, and due to her short fuse and refusal to back down, got into a fight which got bloody and out of hand very quickly. Eventually, the fight ended with Leaper surrendering, but in the heat of the moment, Masami forced Leaper off a roof with her Quirk's moth-attraction, ending his life as he plummeted to his doom.
Unable to get over her regret, and unwilling to be captured and arrested for her crimes, Masami fled home and found her way into the more seedy areas in Tokyo, seeking shelter from justice amongst the villains she once reviled. She hasn't forgiven her former mentor, and still has plans to take the villains by storm, but has found that being able to act without worrying too much about others getting in her way has been... liberating. She still only steals from those with too much power or influence in her opinion, but with pro-heroes suddenly cropping up, the thrill of the chase is just too inviting.
