Didn't Jasmine tell herself she was going to stay low after returning to Japan? In retrospect, this was probably the worst way of doing it.
Not that the ashen wolf could really help herself. That magical list she saw hoisted up on breddit by the new number one upstart couldn't help but her her gears going. Even if she had told herself she'd keep her claws out of dealing with the real thing by herself up until her U.A. tenure ended, Jasmine's more brash nature had gotten the better of her.
Sitting a top the roof of a small building in what was definitely the most shady and likely the most dangerous district in Tokyo, the third-year had been watching the streets, two emerald orbs scanning the perimeter in search of her target in the midst of a large, bustling crowd. Yumi hadn't been particularly happy with the idea, nor did Jasmine enjoy the concept of using the bubbly redhead as bait either. Even she knew how stupid this was, but the wolf was betting on the chance that Ishtar's message hadn't spread far too wide yet.
Villains likely weren't all too organized just yet but she could tell by the hit list that it was a work in progress. Looked like Ishtar already had ties with Thundershock, though to what end Jasmine couldn't hope to know. What she did know, though, was that the post likely hadn't spread too wide just yet. If there were any villains trying to get on Ishtar's good side, it probably wasn't any of the big names. They're far too arrogant and up their own asses anyway... not that Jasmine was any different.
The plan was simple. Dangerous, but simple. Since a picture of her was already up on the hit list, Yumi'd act as bait to draw some form of Ishtar-attention-hungry douchebags out of hiding. The second either of them spot anything fishy, Yumi backs away and leads them into an alley directly below the wolf. They spring their trap and then deal with the rats, nice and easy.
Using that which you want to protect as bait... Jasmine couldn't help but snort at her own thought process. You goddamn hypocrite. But it was because this was Yumi that the third-year was fully confident this little plan of hers would work. The redhead was far more than capable in a fight; hell, she wasn't even sure she could beat her if they outright quirk-brawled.
A small smile came over her lips as she saw the mane of bright red hair. She clicked on the earpiece she'd 'borrowed' from support studies, "Ay, Yums. You hear me? Can't see anything fishy from up above. How's it looking down there?"

Yumi... hadn't been overly sure about the plan. While her confidence had grown a bit over the past year she was arguably one of the students who stuck to the rules, perhaps more out of fear of the reprecussions than a sense of duty like Tetsuko. Kinda left Yumi on wobbly ground when she had friends like Jaz or her boyfriend Red who were more than happy to skirt the rules a bit to get something done... still, she tried to hold it all together. If they played it right they should be able to get an idea out there that she wasn't an easy target, which is how Jaz managed to convince Yumi into all this. She still wasn't so sure about putting out a message on the internet once it was all done but... she'd leave that to Jaz at least.
Wondering through the busy street, trying to pretend she was actually going somewhere rather than just idling about on a weekend, Yumi wasn't looking her best. With the freakout she'd been having about this her hair wasn't in it's usual ponytail and she'd somehow misplaced her contacts so she had her glasses on and... well, honestly she still looked okay, but it was clear she was a bit disheveled compared to the 'normal' Yumi at the very least. She was constantly scanning the crowd around her, seeing if anyone had eyes on her... really she probably shouldn't be this panicy about it. It wasn't like anyone tracking her would just try and blend into the crowd. villains were sneakier than that right? They'd probably be in an alley or-
"GAGH!" Yumi flinched as she heard Jaz's voice in her ear, so on edge that even her friend's voice had her jumping, letting out a nervous sigh as she casually brushed back her hair to hide the fact she was touching the earpiece. "Y-yeah I got you... I can't really see anything but I doubt they'd be trying to stand out if anyone was looking for me... are you sure about all this? I-I mean we have to sell it as self defense and that means I don't have my costume so... n-not that I doubt you can do this! I just... I'm not gonna be as useful as I am at school so I may not be strong back up here?" She offered across, not trying to abort the plan but wanting to make sure Jaz knew how limited Yumi was without her suit.

Since her eyes had been on the scene, Jasmine had a hard time keeping herself from bursting into laughter when her voice seemingly startled Yumi. The wolf couldn't lie - she was definitely nervous, but it was a little different. It wasn't the fact that she was breaking the rules nor was it the fact that she was likely about to get herself into something dangerous that had her on edge. It was the simple fact that she was also involving her close friend, which she would've much rather avoided.
A quiet snicker left the third year as she touched her earpiece, "Sheesh, red. Relax. People will start looking at you funny," she jabbed, trying to keep the air light. Admittedly Jasmine did feel horrible about having to include Yumi in her little plan, but she wasn't intending on saying anything about it. That wasn't going to help. She had faith in the redhead and she was going to show it. Anything less would likely have the opposite effect.
"I know, girl," she reaffirmed as she got up to her feet and hopped over to a different rooftop, trying to stay as close as possible to Yumi while still retaining a bird's eye view. "Do you trust me?" She asked, but didn't wait for an answer. It was clear anyway, "If we play our cards right, we won't have to sell it as anything. As long as nobody sees anything resembling a confrontation we should be fine. Any sign of danger, you get your pretty behind out of there and leave everything else to me."
The wolf was careful in her prowl, stalking the rooftops, scanning the surroundings, examining and determining vantage points while at the same time keeping stock of the situation. Things were relatively calm for quite some time... until her twin emeralds finally spotted a few goons in expensive suits standing in front of a shady bar, talking among themselves while at the same time eyeing Yumi.
"One o'clock. You got eyes on you. Think we got a catch," she informed over the earpiece, laying low. "Slow down a bit. If you have even the faintest suspicion that they took the bait, head into the alley to your right and keep walking. I'm right above you."
Jasmine kept watch, alert and ready for action. There could be no mistakes here, not when one of her closest friends was on the front lines. If they played their cards right now it was very likely they may turn this entire Ishtar shit on its head.

Yumi's expression turned from somewhat fearful to more sullen at the question of trust, holding her arms about herself with a lower expression. Even when she wasn't given time to answer she'd still let out a "You know I do." Once Jasmine had said her piece... she wasn't entirely sure on the other girl's plan after this was done, how she'd make the message clear without getting their identities involved but... Jaz was arguably one of the people with the roughest history in the school. If anyone knew how to do this stuff it was her, as bad as that may come off where she to ever say such a thing outloud.
"I'm just... you know how I could get before you left. Small... fleeting bits of paranoia and worry... having a bounty on your head kinda brings all that back..." As if to confirm her fears and worries, Jasmine would confirm that Yumi supposedly had a group interested in her. Instinctively she was about to shift her head a little lower but she battled against it, keeping herself walking straight and quietly letting out- "I won't look back... don't wanna give us away... just tell me when to dip off to the side."
Yumi would try to keep her eyes forward and just... not panic, subtly checking her bracelets that Red made for her... she had the necklace too but... No. She'd tell Red about it but she wouldn't have him in a panic. Jaz could handle the same workload as most pros so... she shouldn't be panicing so much.
On Jaz's signal when they were sure Yumi was being tailed, she'd try to casually dip into the next alleyway she spotted, arms lowering to her side, readying a charge in her bracelets incase she needed to defend herself for a moment, tensing up as she expected one of them to try and lunge for her, or at least force her to turn around to make sure she was the target...

Jasmine smirked confidently as she watched from above, "We'll make sure assholes think twice before they decide it's a good idea to collect. Don't worry, Yums. After today y'all will be able to live your lives like you've always did. All of you," she said with sheer steel in her voice. There was no damn way she was going to let her friends stay on a hit list of some sycophant. Not in a million goddamn years.
Swift on her two feet, the wolf quickly darted from one side of the roof to the other one, perching herself atop the edge in a crouch. She watched as the redhead paced along the dark alleyway, going further and further. Good girl, she nodded before glancing to the entrance. Just as she suspected, the three bulky goons followed. She'd managed to get their number -- typical Yakuza goons, maybe even Thunder's lackeys. She couldn't really tell. It didn't really matter either way. What Jasmine was sure of was that they had no good intentions in mind whatsoever.
Hovering just above them, the ashen wolf stood back up as she swiftly tied her hair into a bun. A cap on her head followed suit, masking the top of her face. The hood of her black sweater was slipped on and a black facemask was pulled up. She'd close her eyes and focus her quirk. One. Two. Three. The next time they opened, bright emeralds were replaced by fiery crimson diamonds.
She smiled from under her facemask and the warmth of the tone that her words carried would make that smile apparent to her friend. "Keep going, Yumi. Get out of here and don't look back."
She stepped forward.
"I got this."
Her descent was immediate. Like a flash of lightning -- bright, swift and devastating -- Jasmine slammed her feet into the goon at the back. Her heels dug into his shoulders as she used him as a landing platform, quickly rolling forward. Using her momentum and agility, Jasmine lifted herself off of the ground with her hands and erupted into a spinning aerial roundhouse kick directed square into the second one's face as soon as he'd been alerted by her presence. But it was too late, Jasmine was already mid-attack and sent him flying backwards painfully, landing on the ground with a loud thud and a pained groan.
The third one reacted immediately, charging at Jasmine head on. She'd met his tackle, bracing her heels into the ground. In a show of strength, the third year managed to prevail, holding her opponent in place. The wolf grit her fangs, reared her head back, and slammed a headbutt right into his nose, breaking it upon impact. A shower of blood leaked outwards like a waterfall as he staggered backwards, stunned, and Jasmine used this opening to attack without a second to spare. Pouncing forward, she ducked low and quickly erupted with another staggering blow -- an uppercut directly into his chin, sending him a few feet up before his back crashed into the roof of a nearby parked car.
Adrenaline levels up, Jasmine's shoulders heaved up and down as she tried to control her breathing. A finger against her earpiece, she quickly called out to her friend, "Yumi? You alright? I-" a groan from her side interrupted her. Glancing sideways, she noticed that the first guy was quickly regaining consciousness... as were the second and third one. And as if to spite her even further, two more came running in from the street, surrounding her. The wolf clicked her tongue. Great. Fucking business as usual.
"Hope you got out of there. I'll be right with you."

The moment Yumi was given the signal she… bolted. She’d later come to regret that she didn’t even hesitate on that instinct but in the moment, with how tense she’d already been feeling, it was the only option her body really gave her, kicking off the ground almost feeling like it was what caused the explosion she soon heard behind her, rushing to the light at the end of this dank little alleyway and cutting around the corner as swiftly as she could, the training UA had given her on finding cover coming in real handy while she was being a dang coward. She might be able to tell herself ‘well what could she do? She practically didn’t have a quirk-‘ but… that wasn’t really a good excuse, even when she knew Jaz could handle herself…
Looking back about the corner only seconds later would of course confirm her theory that Jaz had this all under control, the goons had all been taken out in a practical instant, defeated and down on the ground. She saw Jaz reach to her ear and try to communicate with her, ready to relay she was okay, the long alleyway meaning they were far out of natural earshot of eachother, but even with her glasses displaced on her face from the paniced fleeing, Yumi could still see the shifting of the goons down the alleyway and the ones that soon came to join them. Again, her first instinct was to flee from the spot, a shift in her legs even at the thought but…
“DUCK!”
She had one hand to her ear even as she yelled just to make sure Dauwz got the message, turning out of her cover around the corner she raised her other arm straight down the length of the alley before her, a burning shot of electricity surging forth, slamming one of the goons in the face down it’s entire length, their own charge mixed with the impact to their face sending them ass over head, doing a full flip before falling to the ground on their front again. Yumi hissed and pulled back, her bracelet sizzling as she blew the fuse in the damn thing. They were only good for one shot afterall…
“That’s one down Jaz you good?”
She knew she was, of course she was, but Yumi would still watch from a distance, letting Jaz fight it out for a moment or so… at a pinnacle point, maybe when one tried to get her from behind or when a sneaky goon playing dead went in for another blow, Yumi would fire off her second shot to keep Jaz safe in the heat of the fight.

“DUCK!”
There was hardly any time to react as Yumi pulled the trigger, sending a spiraling wave of light directly towards the wolf. Her instincts sparked like wildfire, screeching at her body to move. Every single muscle fiber in her torso reacted, making her lean back in what seemed like a slow motion sequence from some action movie. Crimson diamonds followed the blast as it flew inches from her face, from right to left, a violent bright ray of chaos hurdling towards an unsuspecting foe.
The wolf, awestruck, watched as the goon did a very literal back flip upon impact. Ass up and head down. Boy was that a sight. She'd quickly glanced back at Yumi, shock in her eyes -- no pun intended -- as did the other goons in the area. Yumi, who'd understandably been cowering this whole time, decided to pitch in and help? The mask on her face could barely hide Jasmine's grin.
"Hell yeah I'm good!"
Fire in her eyes, the wolf moved instantaneously as a few of the thugs had changed targets, deeming the redhead to be just as dangerous as Jasmine was. Like fuck you are! Her dash forward was immediate. Swift and effective, the wolf launched herself forward in the form of a dropkick that quickly shifted into a chokehold with her legs. Wrapping around the goon's neck, legs still outstretched, Jasmine, in a show of a rare form of agility, spun herself using the male as an anchor, using her weight and momentum to slam his entire body into the ground on his face only to later stomp her boot into the back of his skull, knocking him out cold.
Quickly rebounding, Jasmine went to work on the remaining three, charging them head on. She'd exchanged blows with one while trying to avoid the other two, almost failing miserably when one tried to grapple her from behind so the others can issue some brutal punishment her way. Luckily for the wolf her backup was still there. Another charged shot came spiraling into the battlefield, hitting the lackey right in his side and as a result sending him crashing onto the ground in a lump.
"Honey you are a star!" Jasmine cooed out through comms before the battle resumed once more. She'd managed to catch one of the two remaining guys off guard after they had been distracted by Yumi's attack, likely hesitant to focus too much on the wolf and risk getting one shot KO'd by the redhead. This worked wonderfully to Jasmine's advantage as she, through the use of a quick combination of strike-strike-kick, sent one guy into a wall. The last one wasn't going to have too easy of a time either, especially not after he managed to get a solid strike off on Jasmine, punching her square across the jaw in the time it took for her to straighten herself up after her last attack.
Hissing dangerously, the wolf quickly swept him off his feet through the use of a low kick. He staggered and tipped over and the ashen haired lass used this opportunity to grab his face with her entire palm and slam his head through the windshield of the same car she'd accidentally damaged previously.
Shoulders heaving up and down, Jasmine cursed under her breath, a sore spot on the side of her jaw pulsing with pain. She scanned the area and upon making sure that all of the guys were now out for the count entirely, rushed towards her friend, meeting her half way when she'd get out of cover.
"Yums! You okay!?" Jasmine said, clear worry flashing through her eyes and voice all the same. Gentle hands would grip the redhead's arms, crimson orbs giving the girl a quick once over to take stock of her condition. A sigh of relief followed suit when she determined Yumi was okay and a tight embrace then came immediately after.
One second. Two. Three. Jasmine leaned back, yet still had her hands on the girl's shoulders, "...sorry for putting you through that," she said, scratching her cheek with a finger. "Not exactly what I pictured would be us going out to town for the first time in forever, y'know?"

Yumi felt a little tense as she waited for the next opportunity to take a shot, but with only one left in her she held off as long as she could, knowing Jaz could handle anything in direct confrontation, and only taking the shot when Jaz seemed like she might be snuck up on by someone pushing back to their feet, making sure they stayed down. Again the bracelet briefly burned against her wrist but not enough to leave a permanent mark or anything, Yumi wincing a little through the pain as she shot Jaz a thumbs up and let her finish off the fight, Yumi working on taking off her bracelets since they were no good now, slipping them in her back pocket as she watched Jaz finish her... 'work'.
"Y-yeah I'm-OOF!" She let out a winded chuckle as Jasmine took hold of her so quick and so tight, not expecting that sort of worry from the confident lone wolf Jasmine of all people, holding her back after a second of just being stunned, and keeping her hands on the other girl's hips even as she pulled back to talk. "I-I'm good... the tension and the nerves was making me feel like I was gonna be sick but... hey at the end of the day we're trained to be heroes right? This isn't exactly something we shouldn't be able to handle..." She gave a loose shrug, backing off a little more to look at the pile of groaning / unconscious goons in the alleyway, scratching her own cheek.
"So er... what's the plan here now? I mean do we call the police or would that just complicate things? I-I imagine you're gonna do some internet post or... something but... d-do I stay and help or...?" She wasn't quite sure of this part of the plan was all.

Smiling when she was absolutely sure that Yumi was okay, Jasmine let her hands fall to her sides. A nervous chuckle couldn't help but escape Jasmine's lips as a hand rose to rub the back of her head, all too sheepishly. "Yeaaaah, sorry. I'm... I'm kind of far too used to this type of thing, I guess," she admitted, offering yet another weak smile.
The wolf had followed Yumi's gaze to the pile of men lying on the ground. While some of them were out cold, one or two of them were still very much awake... though luckily in too much pain to be able to actually do anything. Jasmine raised her own fist, glancing at her knuckles; based on how they moved, how they were built, how quick their reactions were and how well they tried to coordinate with each other, these guys weren't too tough, but they were by no means pushovers either. A soft sigh left the wolf. The fact that she was able to deal with these goons with such ease meant her training was working.
At least that was a bright thought in the gloom that quickly shrouded Jasmine's mind upon the redhead's next question.
If Jasmine wanted her plan to work, this wasn't enough. The thought was cold, devoid of life... yet it was one that the lone wolf had also gotten used to. A strangely soothing sensation. Emotion begun to seemingly drain from her face as she was entering that part of her psyche. Slowly but surely.
The third year student glanced over her shoulder, making eye contact with her red haired peer. She smiled weakly, the expression gloomy and bittersweet, "The plan is for you to go home, Yums. Really. You'd best not see what happens next," she said but what she really meant was I'd rather you not see me for what I'm about to do. "I'll be going home in a bit too. Come on, go. Red must be worried sick." A brief pause followed, "Just make sure you don't tell anybody what we did here today, yeah? How well the plan works depends entirely on how much people know about what happens. If information leaks, well... shit might just backfire on us entirely."
"Thanks. Uh, you know... for helping. I know this couldn't have been easy. I promise things will get better after all of this is over with."

Yumi rubbed the back of her neck a little awkwardly as she looked over the same sight as Jasmine, breaths a little tense as it was sinking in what they'd done... being in these fights was one thing when you were on an internship or an apprenticeship or whatever but... god. Just fighting like this out of nowhere, of their own accord. Yumi recognized the danger to their careers if this sort of thing got out, and it also just... weighed on her more, the damage they'd done.
Or, in Jasmine's case it seemed, the damage they were still to do.
"I-I..." She hesitated briefly, glancing to the mess of bodies again and then back to Jasmine... she shouldn't really let her do anything right? She should take her hand and drag her away too before she did anything too risky but... this was Jasmine's territory, so to speak, and, it was probably better she let her do what she had planned... ward off the average punks who might be after her thanks to this weird little hit list of sorts. There was a tightness in yumi's chest as she tried to make a decision, but ultimately gave a slow nod.
"Yeah... okay..." She briefly shifted as if to turn away, before shifting on her heels and bringing Jasmine into another tight hug, just holding the girl close against her for a second.
"... Don't go too far, okay... I-I won't tell anyone but... if this gets out somehow I don't want you losing your career cause of me okay?" She'd give the girl a briefly tighter squeeze, pulling back, and showing the Yumi method of affection by giving her a brief peck on the cheek before finally turning away to leave. Briefly she walked but... soon she began to jog. She knew she should get out of earshot...

Jasmine had stayed quiet, stood motionless in the middle of the darkening alley. The sun had slowly begun to fall under the horizon, opening the gates for the many ominous tendrils of shadow to encompass them. Her head hung low, her hood and cap covering what little of her face was still visible under her guise.
The wolf was calm. Deathly so, in fact. It felt odd, really. She'd never been one to be afraid of skirting the rules or even outright breaking the law if it meant that what was important to her was protected. Chaotic as her sense of ethics was, it was never evil. Yeah she'd steal here and there, break a bone or two... many things that would likely land her with quite a few charges with the authorities if they ever came to light. Yet despite that, there was a clear line there that her morals wouldn't ever let her cross. The one time she had done so still gave her nightmares from time to time, and even that had been a necessity spurred on by self-defense.
She sighed to herself before shaking her head, slightly frustrated with herself as memories resurfaced. Yumi had tried saying something but in her funk the wolf had barely heard a word... not that she'd said more than one word. Jasmine was now very hyper aware of what she was about to do and the implications of it, and yet... Her mind was clouded, yet she could think clearly. Her eyes felt hazy, yet her vision was perfect. Her body felt numb, yet she had perfect control. She felt like she entered the realm of a moral paradox, both physically and mentally... and she honestly loathed that feeling.
Up until warmth surrounded her. Two slender and delicate arms wrapped around the wolf almost greedily as she was pulled into an embrace. Slightly startled, the wolf blinked with no little amount of confusion as she felt Yumi's breath against her skin.
"Don't go too far, okay?"
The wolf blinked again as the redhead placed a kiss on her cheek. She'd rubbed the spot gently, yet said nothing. All Jasmine did was watch as Yumi retreated. Moments passed before the message finally reached Houston and all Houston could respond with was another sigh and a small smile.
"Yeah, I won't," she'd say, though her words were nothing more than a whisper.
She'd wait. Stand still until darkness crept over her, the cool summer air pushing against what little of her pale skin was exposed. The scar adorning her left eye had started aching a little, a quaint reminder of times still unforgotten. By the time she heard the first set of groans from the heap of bodies beside her it had already been ten or so minutes of nothing but standing. Yumi was far enough now.
Jasmine pulled her hat and hood lower over her face as she turned towards the goons and begun her approach. A slow, painfully calm walk, almost like she was prowling towards her prey. It'd seemed calm, at least, if the utterly murderous aura that very few people had seen her possess came into the forefront. Her crimson eyes had begun to emit a brilliantly dark hue as they were set upon to glare at the now panicking goon. He'd beg for mercy, yet Jasmine had none in her.
Her fist dug into his side like a jagged knife. The other one against his face like a sledgehammer. When he tried to wail out for help, she'd attack his throat, nearly crushing his windpipe. He choked and gagged, one hand on his neck and the other trying to cover his face... all up until a boot stomped against his stomach. He tried to defend. He really, really did his best. But there was no hiding from a wolf playing with its prey.
It continued like this for a few brief moments... though for the assailed it likely felt like several short eternities. The ashen haired lass, as though possessed, begun to hammer away at him mercilessly. Her fists flew at him full force at the speed of a gattling gun, piercing skin, breaking teeth and bone... all until he was nothing more than a bloody mess on the ground, barely breathing and gasping for life.
One of them had woken up early and was able to see the horrifying display of aggression. Damn near pissing his pants, he tried to run... only to have his knee broken and throat assailed not unlike the other. Heaving a hefty breath, Jasmine begun her attack on the second one, clawing away at what remnant of a healthy body the man still had left...
This had continued for a good while as Jasmine enacted punishment on all five present. All broken, yet alive. A few lasting injuries here and there, but nothing permanent. She watched them struggle to move as her fists, covered in bloody gloves, clenched. The strange clarity that had overtaken her was still very much there, making her so numb her hands hadn't even started shaking. Her breath was still even and her eyes sharp as a hawk's... and it was those very same eyes that spotted a phone that had fallen out of one of their pockets.
She picked it up and quickly dialed for an ambulance.
The job was done.
Yet before she left, she took out her own phone.
Snap. Snap. Snap.
Now it was done.
